Edwin's not certain he'll ever get his sleep schedule back on track. But being up at weird hours has compensations. He heard Dixie's brother-in-law got abducted. Not pregnant, though - too old. What must that be like? The experience was wasted on an old jock like that.

"Mommy's going in to work today, but don't worry - Daddy can handle it, and I'll be with you right up to the moment I leave."

Ramaswami Priya has the day off! The first part of which seems best spent hanging around with her husband, and spotting things he should've taken care of during the week, and didn't. Getting to know Candy and Doyle better is also a high priority. Priya loves her job, but she wishes she could be around more. She's not as good friends with Candy and Arden as she wants to be; but she's glad Lavesh is growing up with neighbors he can be in a little community with. Arden's as good as a cousin for him.

With Jonah working days at band camp, Roxie has a lot of time to herself, which she uses to get out and meet people. She had this dream about her friend Jessica's husband last night, and needs distracting. But some things are Fate, apparently. Can't fight that.

Roxie's projectionist job is not very demanding, but she still manages to screw it up, and the boss is unrelenting. In fact, he seems to get madder rather than being placated by what she offers to do to keep the job. Stupid old stick-in-the-mud! He won't get another offer like that any time soon!

"I dunno, Del, sometimes I think I'm not cut out for paid employment...Yeah, but Jonah's not putting a band together and I'm not sure I'm up for that, either..."

"Hey, Max, it was nice to see you today, even though we didn't actually say hi. Hope you and the redhead get along all right, but if not - well, you know how to find me."

She manages to get an interview at a record store, so she'll just tell Jonah there was drama and she's switching jobs again, no big whoop. 

Oh, well, living with Jonah might get boring if she didn't have to field curve balls from Fate and Life once in awhile. Nothing's worse than boredom in this world.

"Mommy's work clothes don't fit as well anymore! You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

"What the hell do you think you're doing, pointing that telescope at things that don't concern you?" "I saw nothing."

Delilah's a little antsy after being so largely confined to the house by her body for so long, and buying new clothes to accommodate the changes is as good an excuse as any to leave Ed in charge and get out and about.

"Goodness, don't you look good! How are you?" "Eh, all right. I blew the projectionist gig, but I've got another job in a record store, so it's no big deal." "You and Jonah need to come to dinner soon and meet Delwina!" "I'm not sure how well dinner'll work for Jonah. He's all caught up in the Battle of the Bands, working nights. But we'll see what we can do."

With Roxie working evenings, Jonah often brings friends home from work.  Callista Fuchs appreciates him as a musician.

"Better?" "Yeah, some. I dunno how you pull a muscle just walking down the street, but -" "This place here has hot tubs. Let's see if that helps." "Okay!"

Roxie didn't intend to seduce her friend's husband.

But hey, if he were good enough for her, she wouldn't be able to, right? 

"Wow, you're better at that than Jessica is!" "I'm better at it than most people." "Oh, right, Jessica - what time is it?"

It's a pretty good party, all things considered, and Sanjay and Priya are too tired to clean up after it. So Lavesh helpfully does so when he wakes up in the morning. After all, he's a big boy and Arden says big boys can take care of themselves!

It's a small community, though, so time to make it bigger with a party!

Bellum

Portia, arriving home long before either parent, makes the most of her opportunities.

Knapp is such a good kid! He deserves that parrot.

Ringo Bellum is not a profound man, but he always does his duty as a husband and a father. He likes having a strong, stable, predictable home life.

Like their son, Grace and Cash are not particularly social. They enjoy quiet evenings at home. 

It’s possible that having parents who are all-in-all to each other is part of why Cliff has overreacted so badly to Hugh’s non-flirtation with Dana the Cow.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jane and John are skilling when Janis gets home, so she goes upstairs to practice her smustle. Jane’s not about to let homework slide, though.

As dates went it was more of an outing, with Ivan Tricou butting in all over the place; but Janis got her first kiss so that was cool.

Though, since he’s going steady with Tina Traveller, Isaiah’d better hope that Georgia Newson there doesn’t gossip too much.

Janis brought Isaiah home from school with her. She wants 50 first dates, and figured the sooner she started the better.
