Thinking about how long the Team in Young Justice ran for without anyone knowing it existed.

Like they fucking saved civilians a number of times and no one found out?

But it was an open secret among villains?

I'm just imagining them saving some poor traumatized civilian and just when the civilian thinks they're free, and holy shit there are so many teenage superheroes that's sick, Batman whips out a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Civilian: Do I have to sign this?

Robin: While all the people who didn't sign the NDA went mysteriously missing or insane, so I wouldn't wanna risk it.

Like, peak thing missing from the show is the part where they all have to sign NDAs to join the Team and when the financial statement comes in it's just:

Batman: You spent $10,000 on paper? How?

Aqualad: You told us to not disclose anything

Robin: Yah, and holy paper batman did we save a lot of people that needed NDAs, and you wrote a 10 page long document that we had to print out for all of them, and not to mention the shopping list paper, the doodling paper, the paper airplane paper, the printing of our finances report paper, ect.

Batman: You're lucky I'm wealthy

I'm only halfway though Hbomberguy's new video and I dont know if this is a universal experience but my main horrified takeaway from hbomb's plagiarism video so far is that one of my highschools TAUGHT AN ENTIRE CLASS OF 13 YEAR OLDS TO PLAGIARISE. LIKE, ON PURPOSE.

I ended up moving to a much better highschool, but my first highschool essentially taught us to "write" essays by reading what someone else had written and then write what they said again but putting it "into your own words". Which in practice was teaching us to change, for example, "the works of Shakespeare were regarded by many as the first popular art form" to "Shakespeare's plays have been said by some to be the first example of popular media". One teacher actually told us that the process of writing an essay was "saying what the people you've researched have said, in a way where it sounds like you said it".

Like. The tactics that actual plagiarists use to hide the fact that they were stealing. An actual teacher tried to teach me to do that.

i saw that you did philadelphia here i come & im in fifth yr doing the same for my comparative and im curious what you think of it! i hugely enjoyed it, it's written in such an interesting way (and i relate a little too much to gar lmao) - a lot of people in my year aren't gone on it/prefer the novel we did (educated by tara westover which is, in fairness, fuckin Incredible) but i rlly enjoyed philly as a good short read!

and i absolutely ADORED philadelphia here i come!! i was lucky enough to get to go see it live when i was in 5th year and it was such a great show. alex murphy from the young offenders played private gar and he was only brilliant. i 100% relate to gar too 😅 aunt lizzy will always be my fav character though, the scene where she's talking to ben and con in the kitchen gets me every time. same with the canon 😭 if you get the chance to see it live before the leaving definitely go!!!

my year was the same actually, nobody really liked the play but i thought it was great. i hated our novel though, the handmaid's tale, way too dark for me 😭 i also found it quite hard to use the two together in the comparative

1. Bill Gates-backed startup creates Lego-like brick that can store air pollution for centuries: 'A milestone for affordably removing carbon dioxide from the air'

The Washington Post detailed a "deceptively simple" procedure by Graphyte to store a ton of CO2 for around $100 a ton, a number long considered a milestone for affordably removing carbon dioxide from the air. Direct air capture technologies used in the United States and Iceland cost $600 to $1,200 per ton, per the Post.

2. Violent crime is down and the US murder rate is plunging, FBI statistics show

Violent crime dropped by more than 15% in the United States during the first three months of 2024, according to statistics released Monday by the FBI.

The new numbers show violent crime from January to March dropped 15.2% compared to the same period in 2023, while murders fell 26.4% and reported rapes decreased by 25.7%.
