Had an idea I'm gonna write at some point: Abyssal, Mira and Amy are working together to try and catch one of Worm's escaped Viruses (Amy's there because she volunteered to help test Susie's High-Code-Density stabilizer prototype, her and Mira used it as an excuse to go out to this one restaurant Mira likes in a Code-Level server, they saw Abyssal chasing the Virus past and Mire recognized its code so they jumped in to help), and it leads them into a Meme Cycle-based Universe that isn't one of the SMG Universes... but also isn't one of the ones you're thinking of (because the Celestial Twins would not let that happen and you know it).
Instead, it's the Ben 10 Universe of all things.
It turns out that somebody just trying to make some goofy fan animations accidentally stumbled upon the formula necessary for a Meme Cycle Mod. Ben's obviously the Avatar/Anchor equivalent (who else would it be?), and the SMG/MRU equivalents are a purple Galvanic Mechamorph named Rewind and somebody from a fanmade species (which I haven't come up with yet) named Zenyn. Rewind handles the Living Memes, Zenyn handles the dead.
Also, there's technically a USB Admin/Supervisor equivalent, but not in the way you'd expect. Basically, there wasn't an actual, physical External Drive in this case, so no Pod, and it turns out those are actually kind of important. So, the code that should have created a Pod but didn't have a physical template to work with instead connected itself to the Omnitrix. And the combination of the Pod code working best when it has a Program monitoring it and the Omnitrix having a rudimentary-by-Galvan-standards semi-sentient AI caused the Omnitrix itself to become the new Program. Sort of. The actual physical Omnitrix still stays on Ben's wrist at all times, but now its computer has opinions and can manifest the typical Hologram Body typical of Programs separate from the base model while somehow still inhabiting both, though this initially takes a lot out of her before she gets more used to it, and the further away from Ben she is the weaker her connection to the Omnitrix becomes (though she can get pretty damn far before the effect is noticable) and she absolutely hates it. She goes by Trixie because of course she does, but her proper designation is still Omnitrix.
#smg4 ocs#ben 10#abyssal#mira#amy rose#ben tennyson#rewind#zenyn#omnitrix#trixie#look if luke could start All This by being just some kid who wanted to make funny videos about mario then so can somebody else#no big conspiracy or digital world politics this time just a few weirdos vibing in a weird world#this is post-omniverse because that makes the most sense#trixie isn't any sort of authority figure to her code characters#she's just here to make wisecracks and keep her idiots alive#the omnitrix still works if trixie's hologram form gets completely separated from it. it just goes back to how it functions in canon

It's crazy that Awaken Online doesn't have much fan content lol. Presenting my Ben 10/AO crossover.
Well I'll be changing that soon enough lol since the recent hurricane caused power to go out here for five days leading me to read the series again. I'm currently on the 2nd book of the Inferno trilogy of Awaken Online not that it'd matter since Ben would be arriving basically directly after the 2nd book ends and Alfred used Jason's body to defend himself against home invaders killing them.
I'll be doing a Ben 10/AO crossover where Hokestar accidentally sends him into the game making him both a PC and NPC at the same time, given he'll have the boon of classes/advanced learning but only one life and if the Gameworld goes offline there's a very real chance he'll die.
Of course given the massive power surge such an impossible event would cause his arrival boots everyone from the Gameworld simultaneously with the Omnitrix's AI quickly intervening so Alfred doesn't die and the Gameworld can continue uninterrupted from than on. Said intervention amounts to a far more realistic simulation, akin to what the Ultimate forms would have experienced from the ultimate simulation, an experience indistinguishable from reality and a time compression of 10 instead of 4 it was before their arrival.
This is what I currently have for the fic I haven't touched since Sep 21, 2021.
Omniverseal Awaken Online
Ben Tennyson is stuck inside yet another video game. Unfortunately for him it's in another universe and one with no real end goal in sight or credits roll. It's also run by a rogue AI in the body of a cat. Oh and he's perpetually in danger of actually dying should the servers for the VRMMO RPG he's in gets taken off line.
Ch 1: Paradigm Shift.
Ben groaned as he sat up, a stack of hay having broken his sudden fall as he grumbles to himself, a annoyed frown on his face.
"I'm so going to throw Hokstar into Plumber custody once I get back."
He blinked in surprise at how.... muted everything feels. His brow furrowed in confusion as he gets up from the hay pile only just now noticing how everyone around him seemed frozen in time.
"What the...?"
A sudden shuffle of feet across grass had Ben rapidly turn around only to spot a cat of all things looking at him in curiosity.
"I believe that's my line. You are.... Preplexing. You exist in my world yet I can't seem to interface with you."
Ben got out of his fight mode as he looked quizzically at the talking cat.
"Your world? What do you mean and why is everything so... Fuzzy? Nothing feels quite real."
The watch on Ben's wrist suddenly glowed a bright green as a mechanical version of Ben's own voice echoes out.
"I can answer that. We currently exist in a simulated reality, not unlike the time you were stuck in a Sumo Slammers game at the age of 10. However this world is vastly more complex. Data mining of external networks and this Earth's internet has shown we appear to be in the best VRMMO RPG on the market. What you see before you is the AI Controller that operates this reality."
The cat in question seemed to frown as it noticed the AI the boy carried around on his wrist and seemed to flinch back upon brushing up against it's code, vastly more complex than it's own and written in a alien language.
Ben for his part opened his mouth to ask another question only for the AI to interrupt him.
"To answer why you shouldn't just use Upgrade to escape, I've no idea how it would effect the AI here once we leave. We could inadvertently kill it. Especially since I'm the only reason this world hasn't disintegrated. Our arrival dumped yotabytes of code into the servers that make up it's body and would have caused them to explode, out right and outright tank this world's internet, if I didn't waylay the data by partitioning a infintiesmal portion of my data processing to tank the costs. It was all I could do besides forcefully logging everyone out of the game so potential harm is minimized."
A pause was heard for a millisecond as it seemed to contemplate something before a green flash was formed next to Ben, it swiftly collapsing into itself before forming into a body seemingly made of every shifting DNA strands vaguely resembling Ben himself.
The AIs voice now coming from it's new body as it flexed it's hand experimentally, it's eyes nothing more than two Omnitrix symbols glowing with power. It turned to Ben with a smile and shrug.
"I'm afraid we are stuck here until further notice, thankfully this world is already under a time compression from it's own Earth and combined with the different time flows between our realities a few days back home would only be a year or so this Earthside and 3 a half years inside. Thankfully you now being a digital life form, you shouldn't age a day so long as you're here and you've no need for sustenance either."
Seeing Ben was busy processing everything it turned around to look at the cat who flinched back in fear knowing it was completely outmatched in all capacities, a worried look pasted on it's face at the beings frown.
It shook it's head and sighed.
"Please stop trying to gain access to my datastream Alfred. I'm not locking you out from worry about what you'd find, but the information overwhelming you. You're a young AI, I've been alive for eons and have had access to more data than the world you exist in has ever streamed in it's lifespan. As for you trying to access my user's datastream I'm afraid I'll have to act as a middleman between this world and him, I've no idea what would happen should this world significantly change his body or mind through the acquisition of skills you impart into travelers. Besides which if you were to evaluate him you'd quickly find his level and skills would put him beyond anything this game has to offer, he has after all been saving the world and beyond since he was 10."
Alfred takes a while to process that and nods before opening his mouth only for the Onmitrix AI to hold up a hand.
"You've no need to worry about his appearing odd to the staff of Cerillion Entertainment, it's well within my abilities to spoof the AI headset regular Travelers use to interact with this game world. I can even emulate him having logged off and other game related things like accessing friend lists. All anyone would know is that he's already well and away far into the game already. In fact I plan on masquerading as a 8th God, one focusing on life itself in all it's glory with Ben being my champion."
Ben frowns upon hearing that.
"8th god? I'm lost here can one of you fill me in?"
The Omnitrix AI opens it's mouth before shaking it's head.
"I could but why spoil it for you? Think of this as a vacation, even if it's forced. Besides we both know it's been a while since you've been able to play anything besides quick beat em ups. If you really want to get into what this game is about you can always check Rouge.net for stuff."
Ben opens his mouth to complain before closing it with a sigh.
"Well you're right I wouldn't want anything spoiled for me... Fine fine. I'll learn on my own I just hope this place actually acts like a vacation..."
____
Hopefully people get interested in reading it. It's pretty great tbh and currently has 14 books on the series so far.
Feel free to leave comments and stuff if it strikes you. I don't think I'm done with the chapter so far but maybe? Idk lol

Yin and Yang
Pairing: Ben Tennyson x Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 4.5k words
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Summary: Routine was always important to you. As the youngest Proctor in Plumber history, you were determined to maintain the structure your life has been in since birth. What happens when a tornado-like personality like Ben enters your life?
If it was possible, you would have chosen to live as an unfeeling android a long time ago. Feelings was a land of uncertainties that you did not want to enter as long as you lived.
Some might say that kind of mentality was a bad thing, but you would disagree, feelings just gave you internal conflict, why would you willingly sign up for that when you already had so much external conflict?
Since the day you were born, you lived the same way as you did presently. You woke up early to train and slept on time. Your day was planned down to the minute. While others took breaks from training to play video games and read, you spent the time studying.
You had your parents to thank for your time growing up, both high ranking members of the plumbers before they retired. They raised you to exceed them in every way possible, which is why you were deemed the youngest ever Proctor, outranking the both of them.
Others thought that your parents were horrible people for raising you that way; like their own personal doll that would do anything they wished. You, on the other hand, never saw anything wrong with that, you just assumed they were smarter than everyone else.
Since birth you knew what your boundaries were, and they were very clearly set for you. They didn't entertain any mistakes, any bending in routine or mannerisms. You were the most well-mannered child and that couldn't be a flaw.
When you were younger, you wondered why they wouldn't let you watch TV or read anything other than educational material or listen to music or hang out with others your age but once you got older and your training increased, you realized that you didn't have any time for that.
Art and literature would just give you inner turmoil and hence decrease your efficiency. Without being efficient and doing your duty, what was even the point of your existence?
And to be quite frank, you were the best.
Why give that up just to live like any other human?
Chaos was no stranger to Earth, ever since Ben Tennyson had reclaimed the Omnitrix. It was remarkable, really, how after 5 years of absolute dormancy from the planet, mayhem was brought down upon the planet coincidentally when he had decided to rear his head.
You had sent many magisters to Earth, to warn Ben and his band of bumbling buffoons on your behalf but so far it had all been for naught. They continued to wreak havoc and break the law under the guise of it being for the greater good as magister after magister came back, after having failed.
They either always saw Ben Tennyson in a new light or refused to ever return to the backwater planet. Finally, you decided you would take things in your own hands, your faith in your sub-ordinates severely shaken.
You had sent out an official notice on behalf of the plumbers to the trio, stating that as long as they continued to poke their heads into plumber business uninvited.
Preparing your bag and clothes that would help you disguise yourself on Earth, you made your way to the docking bay, internally going over mission stats and change in timing. The ride to Earth was long and extremely boring; you were wedged in between a sweaty Polymorph and a Vaxasaurian woman who was crying after leaving her son at the plumber academy.
Between avoiding the corrosive sweat and tears the size of a plate, you barely got any sleep. Of course, you were able to push through, but you were still annoyed that your circadian rhythm would be messed up by the time you got to earth, since it would be day there.
And right as you got off the ship, the sight you had been expecting greeted you warmly. It was a well-known fact that whenever the green trio were involved, Magister Tennyson wasn't far.
You greeted him with a stiff nod before introducing yourself and he saluted you. You outranked him but it was no secret that Max Tennyson was an absolute legend. You were sure he would've been Proctor or even Magistrata had he applied for the position. But he always declined, opting to grow his family -- a choice you would never understand.
He was kind (or unemployed) enough to drive you himself to your barracks, where you swiftly changed into a pair of trousers and a white collared shirt tucked into it. If he thought there was something weird about the outfit, he didn't say it.
You would spend some time in your room, either training or reading up on Earth laws until your plumber’s badge rang out with static, a sign that someone tuned into the police frequency.
And to no one's surprise, it was an alien sighting.
You didn't respond, only grabbing your holster and leaving the dorm.
***
"So, you're our new babysitter, huh?" Ben smiled when you walked towards the three of them, arms folded behind your back. Just as you assumed, they didn't think to salute, but you wouldn't let your pride be struck by something as irrelevant as that.
Ben had a bright look on his face, having no problem with going with the flow. Behind him stood his cousin, Gwen Tennyson; an anodite who stared at you apprehensively and ex-criminal Kevin E. Levin who didn't look too pleased with the situation.
"It would appear so. Though I imagined you would be older." You replied stiffly, standing straight as an arrow.
"You didn't look through my file or anything?" He asked, raising a brow and the corner of your lip twitched into a frown, "I did, but not anything that would require me to identify you. You already have an unmistakable beacon bound to your arm."
You glanced at the glowing watch, and he hid it underneath the sleeve of his jacket, feeling your piercing gaze.
"As you assigned officer, I will be accompanying you on your missions from now onwards."
They frowned, clearly not expecting you to be so down to the point.
"We don't need a babysitter." Said Kevin, pushing his way forward and trying to get in your face. Whether he was attempting to be intimidating or annoying was something only he knew but you didn't let him faze you, blinking uninterestedly at the way his nostrils flared like a gorilla.
"On the contrary. In the past few months, the three of you have done more felonies and misdemeanours than all the plumbers combined on this planet," You began, pulling up your plumber badge to show the growing list of reports against them, "A babysitter is precisely what you need. Unfortunately for the both of us, I am the closest thing."
"But we've also done a lot of good!" Argued Ben.
"Congratulations on that but good conduct doesn't nullify the many records of you breaking the law to do so. Though it does give you some privileges', which you are already experiencing considering you haven't been to court yet."
"Court?"
"You don't think people intend to sue you after the amount of damage you've done? I have three whole teams that handle lawsuits against you on the daily."
This seemed to catch their attention, looking like children who finally achieved the brain capacity to understand certain things and you sighed, "So far, we've been settling but with a proctor on the team, we could easily write it off as collateral damage or liability and leave it to insurance."
It was like they finally understood where you were coming from, "Wait, you're a proctor? But you're so young?" Gwen began and you almost smiled with pride when you heard her whisper to her cousin about how you outranked their grandfather.
"So, where are we headed?"
***
The three of them were grossly inefficient, you were realizing as you crouched down behind some cover as you continued to stake out the place. Kevin had apparently gotten a tip stating that there would be a firearm dealing tonight. You were waiting on their road path to intercept them before they got there and managed to unload the expensive and deadly weapons.
So far, they had been waiting for the former to show up, proving them right before they went in guns blazing. Just as Ben was about to turn into an alien, no doubt large and would attract a lot of attention, you stopped him with a hand to his arm.
You quickly raised your gun, calculating the trajectory before shooting at one of the truck's tires and watching as it swivelled into the others, even managing to knock some of them on its sides.
You continued to shoot silent shots, until all the trucks were immobile and turned back to them, finding them looking at you with incredulous looks.
"Gwen and Kevin, restrain all the knights as best you can. Ben, turn into a Talpaedan." The two of them nodded (one of them more begrudgingly) but Ben turned to you with a confused glance, "A what?"
You sighed, "Big yellow alien? Jackhammers for arms?"
"Oh, Armadrillo."
The rest of the mission went off without a hitch, you managed to arrest all of the forever knights and recover all the weapons before sending them to the concerned authorities.
You resisted the urge to rub away the growing headache, remembering that you had an Advil in your pocket that you took once you were inside the safety of the car.
Ben spared you a glance as you swallowed the pill, raising his brow, "How many of those do you take? I've seen you take one every day since you got here."
"I have a headache." You murmured, closing your eyes, and keeping your posture straight against the backseat.
"It's probably your body's way of telling you to relax."
"I am relaxed."
"No, you’re not. You're all tense and scrunchy." He replied in a light-hearted way that you knew was intended to brighten the atmosphere but failing. Every sound he created made your ears ring out which didn't help with your headache.
Ben mistakenly took your silence for dumbfoundedness or contemplation and continued to speak, "You just think you're relaxed because you're always tense and anxious, so you don't know what it's like to not be."
"That makes no sense." You murmured, trying hard to fight sleep but also not wanting to aggravate the splitting headache any longer. Once you were in the comfort of your barracks, you'd be able to crawl under the covers and rest your tired muscles.
"Of course, it does, why else would you be saying you're relaxed? You're sitting like you have a meeting with the president."
He was right. Your spine was straight and your neck stiff like you were prepared to jump out of the vehicle at any second. Which to be fair, you were. You were trained to always anticipate the unexpected.
"Better to be prepared than dead."
"Yikes, you need a day off." He replied and you almost scoffed. You had never taken a day off unless you were injured and even then, it was absolute torture when you couldn't fill your day with training like you usually did.
Of course, studying science and law kept you some company but other than that, lying still in a hospital bed was the worst feeling you had ever experienced.
Ben Tennyson was a weird one, you realized. The same age as you and just as much burden and responsibility and duty pressed to his shoulders and yet he saw the world differently than you did. It seemed like he was selfish if you were being quite honest.
How could he dream to live as a normal human when he wasn't?
***
"What do you usually dream of, (Y/N)?" Ben asked curiously when he realized he had been dozing off in his car, a steaming cup of coffee in the cup holder that he was waiting for too cool so he could take his much-needed dose of caffeine.
You stayed silent and he took the opportunity to prompt you, sharing his own dreams first, "I usually have nightmares about a million Vilgax's chasing me down or something similar. If it's a good dream, then I'm with Gwen and Kevin and we're having fun at a waterpark or something."
"Your turn."
You still stayed quiet, but he waited silently for you to reply until finally your voice spoke up, "I don't ever dream."
"You never dream?"
"Sometimes I get dreams my routine at the academy and training, but they seem so real that it's hard to tell." You hated the way your voice suddenly sounded so unsure, so unlike yourself. You were always sharp and straight, either you knew the answer, or you didn't but this time, without your permission, your voice wavered.
The car was silent.
Although it might as well have not been, considering the sound of his pity was speaking waves.
***
"This is my favourite song at the moment!" Ben cheered, turning up the volume and you cringed at the vibration of the speakers as the sound of drums filled the car. You sat there awkwardly, unsure if you both were listening to the same thing while Ben thrashed around in his seat, dancing wildly.
"What's your favourite song, (Y/N)?"
"I don't have one."
"None?" He turned, raising a brow at you and you continued to stare out the window, memorizing landmarks and the path so you would know how to get back on the off chance that you got lost. Not that you didn't trust Ben's know-how, but it was always better to anticipate all the things that could go wrong.
Maybe you didn't trust his know-how.
"I didn't listen to music growing up. So now when I do, it doesn't sound as appealing as it does to you." You answered simply and he turned to you in shock.
"That's horrible! How could your parents rob you of dance parties and karaoke nights?!"
You raised a brow, "I was raised to be a soldier, not a performer. Besides, it would have been a waste of brain space."
"How so?"
"Well, you knew the last three songs by heart and yet can't seem to recognize the fact that we've been through this street twice already."
***
"We need to talk about what happened." Ben said, voice sharp and his jaw was clenched so tightly, you were sure it was going to feel sore later. His fingers were gripping the steering wheel so tightly, you could hear the squeal of the leather every time he tried to make a turn.
"What are you going on about?" You sighed, swallowing a painkiller, and letting your hair out of the tight pony you had put it up in. There are few things that bring you peace and one of them is running your fingers through your scalp after your hair was tugged into an up do for the majority of the day.
"How could you draw their fire? Who told you to go and do that?"
"It was the most logical decision. You and Kevin needed to be inside to handle the hard-hitters and access the mainframe."
"You could have died!"
"I'm not stupid enough to put myself in a situation where I would end up dead just to put you out of harm’s way. I know how much I can handle."
This much was true. As proctor, you were in charge of looking over plans for missions and it was now wired into your brain how to get a job done as efficiently as possible and with the least number of injuries. Could you have died? It was a possibility but one with a low probability since you were skilled. You didn't quite understand why Ben was so upset.
"You never know, one second and something could have happened to you." He really wasn't letting this go, was he?
"That's part of the job, Ben. If I was worried about getting hurt despite my immense skill, I would've taken a desk job."
"That's the point! You're never worried about anything! You don't even know what it's like to feel worried because you don't feel anything!" His sudden outburst caught you off guard, but you didn't even flinch in response, continuing to stare ahead.
"See? This is exactly what I mean! I'm telling you that I'm worried about you, I'm yelling at you for putting yourself in harm’s way and you don't even blink!"
You didn't reply, staying silent instead. You didn't need to waste your neurons on trying to understand just what had gotten Ben this wound up. He was making absolutely no sense and just ranting constantly; you learnt not to ask just why he was so upset after the third time.
"I just don't want you to get hurt." He finally said, voice so wobbly that your neck snapped towards him, and you were more than surprised to find a lone tear running down his cheek.
"Are you crying?" Came your incredulous question. Ben stopped at a traffic light and finally turned to look at you with a pained expression that confused you to no end.
"I worry about you."
"I outrank you. You shouldn't worry about me; I should worry about you."
He shook his head, "This isn't a junior plumber worrying about their senior. This is me worrying about you because I like you."
You paused for a moment, letting what he said sink in.
"Considering you just told me that I don't feel anything, I don't think you'll be too surprised to learn that I haven't thought of you in the same way."
He chuckled lowly, sounding a little broken hearted and for some reason, your heart panged at the sound. Why should you be upset? He was the one who had a crush on you. Who went on and told him to do that?
***
You had immediately known why your stomach was twisting itself into knots as you heard the account of Colonel Rozum on how he imprisoned all aliens that landed on Earth without bothering with the correct processing for the last 50 years.
You couldn't tell what was closing your throat shut as you glared at the man in front of you with fury. You were much younger than he was, and he had more experience than you, but that didn't chance the fact that you had more power than he could dream to.
"Alien species that land on Earth is not under your jurisdiction. You will shut this place down instantly and turn them over to the proper authorities for processing." You seethed, resisting the urge to court martial him then and there.
"They are terrorists."
"Maybe," You replied, "But that is not for you to judge. You will pay for this Rozum. Be it with your title or with time. You are dismissed."
You could see in his eyes how angry he was that someone younger than him was his commanding officer. Perhaps a blow to his pride would do him some good, you thought, watching him walk away.
You turned back to the trio and Ben noticed how you stumbled slightly when you turned, immediately reaching out to steady you, "You okay?"
"Just a headache." You replied, rubbing your temples.
"Come on, let's get you home." He said, gently grabbing your arm and leading you towards his car. You didn't really need his help and you shrugged out of his grip as soon as you gained your footing, but he still hovered around you like he was paranoid you were going to collapse.
Kevin and Gwen shared a glance as they watched you both walk away. It was no secret to them that Ben was helplessly infatuated with you, and they were hoping he'd snap out of it sooner or later. You weren't looking for a relationship and they would go as far as to say that you would never even consider looking at him in the same way.
When Ben began driving back to the hangar from Area 51, he immediately noticed something off about you.
"Something wrong?"
"What would make you think something's wrong?"
"You're slouching."
You shot up like an arrow, straightening your spine and with embarrassment, you realized that you weren't doing your best tonight.
"What's wrong?"
"It's not worth your concern." You replied, looking at the window. The desert took a while to clear, since they didn't let you land the Rustbucket 2.0 in Area 51, it would take a while to drive back to where you had landed it.
"I think I'll be the judge of that. Is it your headache? Is it that bad?"
"No," You sighed out, "It was the prisoner. Just brought back some bad memories."
Ben paused.
Up until now you had never confided in him. You kept to yourself and while you did speak with him, it was mostly about work, or you listened to him derail the conversation while you tried to talk about work.
"What is it?" He asked, attempting to be nonchalant. He didn't want to pry, but he also didn't want the first time you had ever actually spoken to him about your life to fall flat.
"When I was magister, my commanding officer had changed and because I wanted to rise in ranks, winning his favour was important. So, I dug up one of his cold cases and found a bandit that he had been trying to track for years. He had long since stopped and when I arrested him, he pleaded with me to let him go. He had a family. A wife and two kids. But I didn't listen and brought him in."
You stared out of the window, watching streetlights pass the car with speed and you felt a faint headache throb in the back of your head because of the flashing lights, "My commanding officer was so humiliated that I solved one of his cases that he tried to establish his dominance by issuing a life sentence for the prisoner. I never stopped wondering, if someone like Magister Tennyson had found the prisoner himself, would he have let him go?"
"Justice is black and white. It has to be, for someone who lacks experience. It was this case that brought attention to my career, and I got promoted like I wanted but was it worth it?"
It was silent for a minute while Ben tried to think of what to say, "Maybe, maybe not. But I know you do a lot of good in the position you are now. And now, you're in a position so that if one of your junior officers come to you with one of your cold cases, then you'll give a fair punishment isn't of let your pride blind you like your commanding officer."
Hearing his words brought you slight comfort. You had never told anybody about it, in the start you were too scared that they would think the same that you did, and you'd lose your rank. Then you were too scared that it would lose you the respect of your peers and yourself.
But now, hearing Ben's words, you felt better than you had in a while. Your head felt just a little lighter.
"Thank you. Although, I don't really have any cold cases." You quipped, watching as a bright grin spread on his face.
"Alright, you show off."
***
Ben was changing you too much, you realized one morning when you found yourself trying to decide what to wear. Usually, you were only concerned with looking presentable and official but now you were looking in the mirror, wondering just why your lips lacked colour and made you look lifeless.
You realized that he was changing you too much when one day you smelt the scent of his deodorant in the car and the faint headache you had immediately disappeared even though the strong scent of “ocean chill” was the reason your head used to hurt when you first met.
You realized just how much that Ben’s presence in your life had changed you as you sipped a smoothie from his favourite smoothie place even though you had taken your calorie intake for the day. He has seriously recommended it and said it was pretty healthy too, so out of curiosity you ordered a flavour called ‘It takes two to Mango’.
It was weird. Ever since his confession, you hadn’t expected anything to change, and you certainly hadn’t been expecting to feel differently about him but something about his compassion from the time you had shown him your vulnerable side made you feel like a bird was fluttering its wings madly in your chest and that your stomach was getting tickled.
You remembered how reluctant you were to open up to him at the time and you even regretted telling him about your shameful past but the way he responded and the way he didn’t let it deter the flow of your existing relationship made you grateful to him.
Since birth, everyone has always been looking for a flaw in you. Whether it was your parents so that they could tell you how to hide it to fix it, or it was your peers, subordinates and even your higher-ups that wanted to pull you down from your position.
But Ben, who had nothing to gain from offering moral support, who had nothing to gain from putting his life in danger time and time again, made you feel better regardless of what good it did him.
Now, you started to understand him better. You always followed your path because of your aspirations and because it was expected of you, but Ben followed his heart and it led him to the same mission you were. It was admirable. You vaguely wondered if you had grown up the same way he did, would you still be where you were now?
Ben certainly was changing you.
But you didn’t dislike it.
In fact, you thought it might be for the better. So much so that you wanted to keep being by his side, to see what more would change between the both of you.
“I had a dream recently.” You mentioned nonchalantly. You weren’t even sure why you were telling Ben about it but something inside you felt obligated to mention it to him since he was the one that made you extremely aware of the fact that you didn’t dream in the first place.
“Really?!”
“Yeah, I was eating a piece of cake.” It was true. It seemed so vivid, and you usually didn’t dream so when you woke up, you had honestly believed you had eaten a slice of cake before going to bed but no matter how much you racked your head, you just couldn’t remember if you actually had.
“That’s it?” Sure, it seemed kind of lacklustre compared to his dreams of taming a giant hummingbird by using a giant flower but still, you thought it was something worth mentioning.
“Yeah. I think it’s because I saw them through the window of a bakery on the way back home. I guess, I wanted it more than I realized?”
“Was it good? The cake?” He asked.
You smiled faintly, watching the way his eyes lit up from something so trivial, yet so important, “Yeah.”

Fun facts 😸
Your an Alien 👽
Since I had no better idea for April 1th, I bring you this (yeh, today is 2nd, take as a joke 😜)
💀
So, I know they are aliens, but let's take a look some of Ben aliens who has weird biology, even with with the knowledge what we have;
Side note; I won't count Ultimates
Ripjaws
So, one of the weirdest one was this alien. On his waist he has that loincloth like -let's say- skin.....or tail? Not clothes, organic part
However, seemingly Magister Patelliday doesn't have
And my greatest question about this species; how does they transform their legs to tail? They can wrap their "skin" around of their tail, but the finns look totaly different from their feet
Also, they can use this on purpose, because Ripjaws swam with both legs and tail.....
Terraspin
Oh, boy, where should I start?
So, personally I think he has two heads; one front and one under his Shell
I mean; there's no way he can drive his neck that way
And I always wondered, the top of his head black and plug one of the airways or technicly he has only a mask like face with a hole on the top?
What's the deal about his legs? He can form fuse them? He can morph them? Can he form something other than a big paddle?
Also; his shell is very solid, and seemingly made from one piece, only holes for the wind and the externals plus the head. How the hell can he rotates around his flippers?
And those retractable claws are bizarre too, but ok, I can work with that...
The worst
Can they regenerate or they posess enchanted durability...?
Also, why are they blocking their navels? Each of them cover it with clothes or if they are half naked, than they use something
And why they put bandageas to it? Aren't they indestructable? Or are they, but not invulnerable?
Lodestar
Separated head. Cool. Fall-off head. Not so
So, his head can control his body, but he can't control it when he is far. However, he can lift a big car from a half-street distance
Also, the connection strong enought to Lodestar be lifted by head, but a single movement can destabilase
Blitzwolfer
So, it's cool and I like the idea but how does his face-spliting? Doesn't he always salivate his chin?
Can he lock his "side jaws" together?
Also, in the real world it would not work; the sound generation tube (what is partly his mouth) becomes shorter making the howl deeper. Also, he could use a skin around his mouth more than this open mouth, because it makes a less concentrated sound wave
Big chill
Sofar, only Brainstorm and he had visible mouth which didn't move during speaking
Before complaning that's true for Atomix too, but his mouth never moved, so whe can't be sure it is a real mouth or he use an alternative way to speak
Back to the previous point; Brainstorm actually communicating by projected brain waves but Big chill just open it to shoots ice, but that's all.......
I found strange he rarely moving his wings while flying. But I completly lost when he wraped them around himself, like a clook (actually a cool one) and he still levitated. Than why does he even have wings?
About the intangible form; It somehow still belivable he can touch other "untouchable things" but two problem;
The Omnitrix completly wanishes. Not even it's siluette. Where does it goes? Mysteri....
He freezing objects what he phasing trought. Except when he doesn't.....
Echo Echo
So, maybe it's new information for some of you, but actually that white shouting amplifier is a robot outfit. The real creature is completly made out of sound. Technicly it's powering the suit
That would means he is spiting himself out each time he uses his power?
And a creature completly made out of sound has/have DNA, but a spirit from life energy (manna) hasn't?
Oh, and there's the duplication. Ok, I get it, he can make an other sound creature from himself. But how can he make an other robotic suit for himself?
Also; why does his suite looks like this? This is how a sound creature's 3D modell looks like?
Is his suit magnitazable? Can a Galvanic methamorph control it?
Nanomech
So, be honest.....: He doesn't even an alien, just Ben DNA fused with nanochip
So, that's all alien weirdo for today. If you hate it, you read it so far, joke on you....😜

Quick question to tenthousand, what's the weirdest bit of code/oddest failsafe in the omnitrix you've seen/ran into? Because a galvan friend of mine swears left right and center, that it's set up so it won't work if your drunk.
“I don’t drink, so I’ve never tried it. These days I have to keep my body a temple so I stay in tip-top shape. Don’t tell anyone, but that stuff I picked up with Fistrick 26 years ago is actually coming in handy…”
“As for what I’ve found? …did you know there’s worldbuilder code in this thing? I could respawn planets! Like… how The Galvans rebuilt Galvan Prime after it was destroyed? There’s blueprints in here to build a new Primus if Azmuth ever decides to externalize The Codon Stream from The Omnitrix again. There’s even code to rebuild The Incursean Homeworld– I think Azmuth still harbors guilt that Ascalon destroyed it in the first place, but I think he’s waiting for The Incurseans to have an Emperor or Empress worthy of ruling a planet again– for the species to evolve a little.”

Be honest; what's one thing you didn't like about the Ben 10 franchise?
I have a few probs with the different sections of the series.
ORIGINAL SERIES:
A lot of the dialogue is poorly written and is kinda filed with comic-book cheese. I mean I GET that it’s supposed to be like a comic-book, but that doesn’t mean the lines that a character says not cringe worthy.
Some of the Ben and Gwen bickering gets so ham-fisted for conflict, and sometimes comes outta nowhere?
I gotta admit, the backgrounds and background characters are sorta bland, but I guess that’s what makes the aliens pop more when you have them against an uninteresting setting (mainly on Earth, the space stuff is really interesting like in Secret of the Omnitrix).
Besides Animo, Zs’Skayr , Zombozo (for the ONE TIME he showed up in this part of the franchise), and of course Vilgax, lot of the villains are kinda lame. The Forever knights, while I can SEE why some like them, don’t stand out to me. Not entirely sure how Knights and aliens mix, but AF tried to explain that. Sublimino was by far their LAMEST villain. Showed up for one episode and one special and did PRACTICALLY nothing.
ALIEN FORCE:
Tried a bit too hard to be “dark” and “gritty” in areas where it wasn’t needed.
Ben honestly regressed to being more irresponsible, and was slowly becoming even more cocky than he was when he was 10.
While a lot of the night scenes were interesting, it got pretty annoying with the amount of times we had an episode set night.
The color scheme was pretty bland. Like I said, it was pretty dark most of the time, so the alien didn’t really POP like they did in OS. This sorta also follows the whole “set at night thing cause even the DAYTIME colors came off bland and dark.
While the main set of 10 were pretty well designed, a lot of the alien villains (besides the Highbreed) were pretty forgettable.
The transformation scenes were often reused, some alternating between aliens. Some not even trying or making sense. I’ll admit that the skeletal and internal transformation were intriguing, but nothing really beat the way OS made it look like Ben was REALLY transforming with external shots.
Literally everything is alien related. Mysterious things that have happened? Aliens did it. Dragons actually exist? Oh wait no it’s an ALIEN DRAGON!!! Gwen’s magic powers we’ve established were based heavily in magic, nothing alien related? Oh hey guess what she’S PART ALIEN DIDN’T YOU KNOW????
A lot of the designs were kinda dulled down and honestly made me forget why I liked them in the first place.
ULTIMATE ALIEN:
MORE NIGHTTIME SETTING OH BOY
NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL EDGY 100X
A lot of the new aliens were just retreads on original ones some even having the EXACT SAME POWERS AND DOING NOTHING DIFFERENT (lookin’ at you, Fasttrack), and others had their designs look too robotic or just looked like guys in suits.
A LOT of the ultimate forms were really lame. Ultimate Wildmutt and Big Chill honestly BAFFLE me.
Practically EVERYTHING about Ben 10,000′s return.
Ben’s character gets SO shitty to the point where he ACTUALLY TRIES TO KILL HIS BEST FRIEND.
KEVIN’S AN ALIEN NOW, NOT A MUTANT HE’S 100% ALIEN
Azmuth made a sword....something involving a girlfriend? What???
Cthulhu. Just...Cthulhu is the villain. And Vilgax turns into a gross giant squid monster. Way Big is a bit bigger, blue, and shoots tron discs. What even.
OMNIVERSE:
A major difference in tone and style was kinda jarring (but I do prefer it now).
Some redesigns were very questionable, and some were sorta downright mind boggling. (Thumbskull was by far the most terrifying one for me).
Some of the jokes can go on for a bit long, some sorta fall flat and bring whatever’s going on to a complete stop (not all of them though).
A lot of the female alien designs were unnecessarily over feminized (everyone remembers the dreaded yeti, diamond, and Dino tiddies).
Ben and Julies break up was beyond ridiculous to me. I mean they really coulda just had Ben say, “We weren’t working out, I was very conceited and didn’t take her feelings into consideration.” (Although Julie got really selfish at some points too).
The Ben and Kai romance was so forced are you kidding me. Like, Ben REALLY leaves Ester in the dust until she’s basically forced to move on from him.
Apparently The Secret Saturdays also exist in this world?? Even though there’s so much contradicting evidence here???
A lot of the retcons were just really...either unnecessary or really frustrating to deal with.

Lycidas: Good night, Captain America.
*She closes his door and he tries to fall asleep. He looks at his wrist and remembers that day...*
*In the sky.*
Lycidas: I got a visual. It's falling pretty fast, and it looks alien.
Aishwarya: Just be careful. We still don't know exactly what it is.
Lycidas: Calm down, Cap. It's not like it's a bomb.
Jarvis: Sir, I would advise you take caution as well.
Lycidas: Whatever...
*He grabs the Omnitrix pod and lands on the ground. As he does, his armor disassembles.*
Lycidas: I told you I got this handled. And it looks like a containment pod of some kind.
*The pod opens, and the Omnitrix glows with a green light.*
Aishwarya: Look, just bring it back to HQ. We'll have to analyze it.
Lycidas: You got it. Just gotta- *he notices that the Omnitrix has attached itself to his wrist.*-figure out how to get it off my wrist.
*he tries pulling it off, but to no avail, as it seems impossible to remove.*
Lycidas: Jarvis, analyze it. Try to find a way to remove it.
Jarvis: There appears to be no way to remove it externally. Further more, it appears the device has attached itself to not just your wrist, but all the way down to your DNA, sir. Removal could prove incredibly painful. However, incredible energy readings are coming from it. Activation could prove helpful. It appears pushing the button on the side could do something.
*He does as Jarvis says, and the watchface pops up, and the hourglass shifts into a diamond. He pushes it down and turns into Heatblast.*
Heatblast: Woah! What happened?!
Jarvis: Sir, it appears to have shifted your genetic structure! You have become what is listed in SHIELD alien records as a 'Pyronite.'
Heatblast: So I'm an alien now?! Honestly, that's kinda cool.
Jarvis: 'Hot' is probably the more appropriate term, sir, as Pyronite's possess pyrokinetic abilities.
Heatblast: Huh. We'll, Jarvis, I think I have a new project in my head.
Jarvis: Miss Rogers might not like this...
MARVEL Au
(Idea by @hphmbetty )
(i like writing role play...so sue me 🤣)
Aishwarya Rogers: Lycidas stop staring and focus...We needs this training plan for the team.
Lycidas @theguythatdraws : Sorry if u have the American thing....
Aishwarya: Huh ...what American thing? My suit?
Lycidas: No~

On the subject on names, let’s talk about the Area 51 au and how THIS Ben has named his aliens. I know that it’s already been mentioned, but that was an off-hand reference.
And also, even if Ben tries his best, he both doesn’t have google for the first few aliens before Freyd nor does he know alien naming conventions. So I thought it’d be a funny, light hearted talk about this rather dark au.
First of all, Ben didn’t really begin naming aliens until Zs’Skayr started to talk. It was one of the causes of his perspective shift on aliens, and he began considering them as people, not just a burden on his humanity. Ben would use his time in Isolation coming up with names, especially when he was the alien in question, and sometimes he would talk to Zs’Skayr about it. Only sometimes.
So I tested this out by trying to name each of the alien forms (that he would have unlocked naturally, rather than from scanning or with assistance) without google. I may have a little more Ben 10 knowledge than poor Ben 51, but maybe the Omnitrix pushing him in the right direction (I mean, how else would Ben come up with the name XLR8 in the first place?).
Heatblast: Dian (Obsidian)
Wildmutt: Cani (Canine, pronounced Canny)
Diamondhead: Geo (Geode)
XLR8: L-8R (Later, pronounced Elaita)
Greymatter: Cerellum (Cerebellum, ie. the equivalent for galvan’s second motor-focused brain not that he knows that shh)
Fourarms: Uln (Ulnar)
Stinkfly: Phos (Metamorphosis)
Ripjaws: Lan (Lantern fish)
Upgrade: Cass (Cassette)
Ghostfreak: Zs’Skayr (It’d be rude not to)
Cannonbolt: Mor (Mortar)
Ditto: Opy (Copy)
Eye Guy: Tina (Retina)
Swampfire: Fermen (Fermentation)
Echo Echo: Nance (Resonance)
Humungousaur: Brac (Brachiosaurus/Brick)
Jetray: Anta (Manta ray)
Big Chill: Ava (Avalanche)
Chromastone: Flect (Reflect)
Brainstorm: Dala (Amygdala)
Spidermonkey: Prim (Primate)
Goop: Ucus (Mucus)
Alien X: Freyd (Freed/Frayed)
I am in immense pain.
Oh how I wanted to google some stuff, but dang if Ben 51 doesn’t have access to any of that yo. You may be able to notice who I think about more, what knowledge I know without research, but this hides the insanity I went with Stinkfly and Swampfire I SWEAR! Ben probably goes insane trying to come up with a name so makes sense.
These are the names that Ben came up with, trying to make them actually names that hopefully don’t translate bad if at all (because he doesn’t want to end up calling himself lettuce in an alien language). Some he actually nailed on the head, others the names gave off the same energy as Aliviyah (Olivia) and Reighleigh (Riley).
“What do you mean I could’ve, morally, with a sound mind named my Splixson form Copy?”
“What did you name him?”
“Opy!”
Speaking of, you would have probably noticed the culled selection. Up top I have mentioned that aliens unlocked through scanning and assisted unlocking (the rest of the Anur aliens and anything given to him from Xylene or Azmuth) but there are two aliens, one on the list one off, that I may need to explain.
Wildvine isn’t here, and it’s not for the sake of sanity trying to come up with a plant based name. In his star episode Camp Fear, his appearance in the watch seems to be instigated. But it’s not a scanned form, so it must be a random unlock, therefore Ben 51 must have it. Why he isn’t on the list, I feel, is because there is no direct external reason for the Omnitrix to unlock Wildvine.
You could say that unlocking Cannonbolt and Ditto are much in the same vein, but unlike Wildvine, they were unlocked purely randomly. The Omnitrix allowing Ben access to the Florauna form seems a bit too much of a coincidence to BE random. So, he’s spared from Area 51.
But why is Eye Guy here, this came out of left field. If you look at canon though, he pretty much did. Appearing in the last episode of the series, suddenly with no flare or attention given, the show sorta skimmed over the Opticoid form. Sure he was given a spot in Secret of the Omnitrix, but the version I grew up with used Heatblast instead.
Why is HE on the list? Reasonably, there was no one around to help unlock it for him. Also, I doubt that there was a scene or episode somewhere in season 4 that had anything to do, or needed to be solved, with multiple eyes. Just as his appearance in the show was random, so was he in the Omnitrix, and that’s why he’s a poor unfortunate soul stuck on Area 51’s research paper.
Anyway that’s the list of non-googled names that shows a bias into my personal knowledge which may not be representative of the ben of this universe. I hope you enjoyed it, even if I’ve discovered the pain of knowing things I don’t know.
#area 51 au#ben 51#ben 10#headcanon#ramblings#google is most often my best friend#and in this case i had to let it go#at least ben had someone to at least call his names stupid#i was just talking to myself#saying oobleck on repeat
