BC Conservative leader John Rustad assured anti-vaccine activists British Columbia would be open to joining other jurisdictions in legal proceedings inspired by the Nuremberg Trials that would be aimed at prosecuting those deemed responsible for COVID-19 public health measures and vaccines. “Nuremberg 2.0,” an idea popular among COVID-19 conspiracy theorists and the online far-right, is simultaneously inspired by the Nuremberg Code, a set of ethical principles on human experimentation, as well as the Nuremberg Trials that prosecuted Nazi leaders after the Second World War. Nuremberg 2.0 advocates typically call for those who created, justified or enforced public health measures — including politicians, doctors, academics, journalists and police — to be jailed and even executed for “crimes against humanity.”

People who just went about their lives never even thinking about human trafficking suddenly started talking about it when it was an excuse to make covid seem minor in comparison. And now that it's socially acceptable to just flat out not care about covid instead of coming up with something to compare it to, people went right back to their usual routine of being silent about human trafficking.

So no, covid was not a distraction. It was the exact opposite. It caused people to care about human trafficking who otherwise wouldn't.

Florida has removed more than 32,000 COVID-19 cases from its official tally without explaining why.

The state Department of Health said Friday in its biweekly report that 7,537,137 residents since the beginning of the pandemic had been infected by the disease. It claimed 7,569,449 on March 31.

The cut is equivalent to 17% of infections the state has logged so far this year.

A department spokeswoman could not be immediately reached for comment late Friday when it posted its report. The report did not explain the decrease. The department has posted nothing on its Twitter page since Thursday and nothing on its Facebook page since Jan. 13.
