Ninjago Headcanons 30-34

30: 

When Lloyd was little, he’d hide a LOT. 

Like, 24-7. 

In the most impossible spaces.

Like, Jay would be walking into the living and randomly look up to see Lloyd in the rafters.

Wu was the only being in literal existence with the ability to coax him out.

31: 

Once all six were bored enough to start playing hide-and-seek. It lasted the whole day because of their stealth skills, the tracking they’d learned, and the fact that they knew each other too well.

Wu finally joined the game and found everyone in less than an hour. 

32: As a kid, with his instincts and past, Lloyd would bite if he needed to. If he was scared and someone’s threatening hand got too close, he’d bite.

You’d bet that Wu was practically immune to any attempts Lloyd made when he was still….. Adjusting to living on the Bounty and with the ninja. 

He doesn’t do it that much nowadays, but with the right circumstances….. Watch out. 

33:

Jay sometimes feels the urge to go outside in thunderstorms. According to Wu, this is normal for Lightning Elementals, but Wu still locks the doors and windows when a thunderstorm occurs. 

Wu also says that Jay has the worst “Element Trances” of any Lightning Elemental he’s seen for a while. 

34:

Likewise, other Elementals have trances of their own Elements.

Kai has this trance with Fire, if fire is nearby he knows it and he may just get into a trance.

Zane feels Ice the same way. 

Nya’s trances are more like Jay’s, but they don’t happen very often and she won’t wander off as much. 

Cole’s are in between, sometimes his trances are like Kai and Zane’s trances, other times they’re like Jay and Nya’s. He just feels the Earth. 

Lloyd’s are more like Cole’s, he just feels the Energy of everything.

Tried to categorise every known element to each Soruce! I think that the new elements could have been made when Riyu was born and those could be "his" elements but I could be wrong hmm

Went with "Flow" and "Stillness" for the Water and Ice Sources just for the sake of them having a name, 7th one is still an enigma tho, Balance is kinda just a place holder name lol

My reasonings for Tech being under Energy and Heat under Motion is because I think that when the Tourney starts, the current Ninja team will have a representant of each Source, so with Jay and Kai out of the picture, Sora and Wyldfyre can fill those slots

Also ngl was so hard to do anything for the Ice Source lmao

idk if this is a controversial opinion or not but i THOROUGHLY enjoyed the lego ninjago movie like idc if that shit isnt canon it was a roller coaster i will willingly ride.

like cmon, jackie chan as master wu? llyods daddy issues?? the fucking humour in this had me in a chokehold i need whatever the writers were on

of course i have my own gripes but as a standalone movie i think it deserves many kudos. i rewatch it every now and then for a good chuckle

I know we're way past agent Walker but like, pls hear me out?

So I was doing that agent walker piece I promised like a couple weeks ago, and I had a thought. Like, I read a lot of fanfics where the administration was painted as wanting to strip people of individuality. Pretty sure we don't see much of it in the show. Like, sure, they're all "agent" and they all wear suits but that's not much. So I was thinking, what if the administration not only had uniforms, but also dress codes. Like you know, your hair has to be slicked back, can't stick out kind of dress codes. You will get nagged by a higher up or get a uniform complaint that you'll have to fill out every time your hair pokes out wrong or for messing up your suit even slightly, like a small faint stain kind of dress code. You can't dirty your uniform up or you'll need to pay for a new one kind of dress code. You have to look how they want you to all the time kind of dress code. And if you add anything that is yours, that is personal - another dresscode violation. You know, it is literal corporate hell, right.

What I mean is that it would be a subtle but really telling detail to have the agents all in like three specific hairstyles and that's all. If they want to strip you of your individuality, they would pay much more attention to the agents self expression, which is in many cases through your clothes or hair.

So I was imagining Jay brushing out and straightening his hair every morning, just for it to become frizzy after a couple hours anyways. Self control every minute, to get the agents in their heads, paranoid. Also it would be a great opportunity to have Jay in a hairstyle more simillar to what he was wearing in the earlier seasons. I feel like he'll still be okay with some uniform violations, because he probably was locked up in his office most of the day, but whenever he would go out, he'd need to put himself together.

Another nice thing is that through this, Jay would look different to how he used to. I know that the point of the ninja seeing him in season 2 part 2 was that he was a familliar face, but I mean, did he feel like Jay? That's what I'm steering at. Having him not exactly look like they remember him would also be great visual storytelling for his own lack of identity.

I understand that for the viewers sake, Jay had to look the same as his current design. But just some food for thought.

And I mean, tell me the administration doesn't have a milion files for uniform violation. They surely do.

Am I the only one who really loves Jay's character after what happened to him at the Administration? Like, I never minded him before, but at the same time nothing about him really spoke to me. I don't know if it's because he was always just the "goofball" in the show or what. Maybe it's because even though Ninjago did give him a backstory and funny personality, they never really dove deeper into his character. I mean, all that we really knew about him was his silly personality, that he has loved Nya since the start, his love for video games, and the fact that he's the Lightning Ninja. Everything else was briefly explained and forgotten later on throughout the show (inventor, the fact he's adopted, etc). And while I know that we don't have to repeat these things, it just seemed like the show forgot to add sources of this information throughout the rest of the seasons after Skybound. I could be remembering wrong --- forgive me if I am --- but I don't know... I just was never invested in his character, I guess. Now, however, as I watch him after Dragons Rising, I have really begun to like him, and I am enjoying his character more from past seasons after watching these new seasons. I don't know, maybe I'm the weird one, and maybe I just like it when favorite characters go "evil" and become the villains (true), but either way, I am enjoying his character more now from past seasons as I watch the show, and I'm really hoping Ninjago keeps writing him in this way and doesn't automatically make him the "hero" again once he remembers his past. I'm really hoping they keep the idea going for a while until he eventually figures and remembers everything out in a respectable time frame. Anyways, just a thought. Wanted to get it out of my brain lol. Evil Jay is definitely something I've been enjoying thoroughly haha

Okay okay! I’ve seen so many people talking about how they are upset with the lack of reaction at Kai’s sacrifice so I wanted to give my two cents.

With Nya her character has always been this kind of ‘act tough all the time’ personality. She had that little moment with Wyldfyre and I think this is going to bring them closer. Nya still has Lloyd, Cole, and Zane so she’s not going to totally break down but she is silently struggling not wanting to appear weak to the others.

Lloyd is putting on an act because he still has the kids to worry about but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him struggling with feeling guilty. He was having the vision and still couldn’t stop Raz completely.

Zane is the logical one and probably felt as though it was best to keep his emotions in check and enjoy their small victory.

Cole I think is at a point in his life where he will still grieve the loss of a loved one but has a healthy way of working through it.

These aren’t super detailed and hopefully I’m getting my point across. If I’m feeling motivated I’ll make a more in depth post.

Acronix is left handed.

Like the hands on a clock, Acronix is left handed while Krux is right handed.

I have proof, I am also left handed! so allow me to explain my research..

I love the fact that Acronix wields his left sword backwards, Krux doesn’t do this, only Acronix.

Acronix and Krux both get kicked back when their dominant hand weapon is destroyed,

Acronix’s left blade is broken - Quick defeat

Krux’s right blade is broken - Quick defeat

When wielding a sword singularly, Acronix chooses his left hand while Krux chooses his right.

the fact his Apple Watch is on his left wrist, I keep my watches and bracelets on my left wrist as well. Not only this, but he plays the BorgPad with his left hand.

His BorgPod is on his right hip to grab easily, while Krux's hourglass is on his left.

Honorable mentions - Krux using his right hand for tools while Acronix grabs items with his left hand.

While Acronix uses his powers to forward time on his left hand, Krux uses reverse time on his right hand.

And when they lose their powers they look at their dominant hand first.

Now you might be saying; Mystic, are you forgetting that Krux and Acronix wield the Time blades oppositely than their original hands?

No, I didn’t forget, in fact..Hear me out: The Time blades are meant to be held like this because: Ray and Maya created them for Garmadon and Wu to use, They’re meant to be held in the correct hand like how many scissors are for right handed people, the handles of the weapons are meant for the right or left hand. So whatever power was sucked into the Time Blade, that’s where it stayed.

That’s why their powers switched hands, the Forwarding in time was collected in a right-handled Time Blade while the Reverse time was collected in the left-handled time Time Blade.

Ninjago Dragons rising theory

(SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 PART 1)

Okay. So you know when the ninja are in the cave and their worst fears are revealed and stuff? I have a theory not exactly about that scene but about what’s shown on that scene.

Once Nya frees them all and says “the real Jay would never forget me”, you may have noticed that Kai looks upset.I think he looks guilty, maybe about what he saw in the vision OR. About what Nya said.

The theory:

Kai knows about Jays amnesia.

I don’t know HOW and I don’t know WHY but I’m 100% convinced of this. Kai looks too guilty directly after Nya said that, and there was too much time for the viewers to take in his expression for it to jot be intentional. Sure, maybe this pause was to make us wonder what it was that Kai saw in his vision. And yeah, it did make me do that. So.

Theory 2:

Kai saw something along the lines of Nya getting mad at Kai for not telling her about Jay.

I think this would be good. I think exploring the trio of Nya, Jay and Kai is important because they’re family, Kai and Nya are siblings, Nya and Jay are practically married, Kai and Jay are practically brother-in-laws. It would also be nice to see the relationship between Kai and Jay be mended, too, what with what happened in Crystalised. They never bought up that fued again, so.

No one’s gonna see this and I’m yappin but man I can’t sleep without getting this down

Don't think about P.I.X.A.L in Dragons' Rising, about how no one has found her yet, about her wandering the realms searching for someone that she knew. Zane. Kai. Cole. Nya. Jay. Lloyd. Sensei Wu. Anyone.

Don't think about P.I.X.A.L being found by the Administration, being captured by them, claimed as a machine, and having her memories taken away.

Don't think about P.I.X.A.L working for the Administration as one of their machines, not knowing who she was but knowing that she was meant for more than a mail room.

Don't think about P.I.X.A.L meeting an agent who treats her with kindness, who also doesn't remember who he is, who she soon becomes friends with.

Don't think about this friend coming home from a mission, speaking of another machine they were trying to catch, one called Zane, and how the name sounded familiar to P.I.X.A.L.

Don't think about the friend telling her that he had lightning powers, and that P.I.X.A.L wasn't as surprised as she probably should've been.

Don't think about P.I.X.A.L and the friend speaking about knowing that they were someone greater than who they were with the Administration.

Don't think about the two escaping the Administration together, searching for answers and searching for who they truly are.

Since we're talking about Oni recently I wanna mention something that I find interesting

The Oni that we see in March of the Oni, don't they look... sickly to you?

Baggy skin that is practically hanging off of them, all throughout their bodies. This is strange, isn't it? It's especially interesting considering the other Oni we see, Mystake:

See her? She's perfectly healthy! And we can't say this is age because of the fact that she's probably just as old as the rest of the Oni. She was around all the way back before Ninjago was created and was hired to assassinate the First Spinjitzu Master. Meaning that she was most likely one of the stronger Oni at the time.

This isn't just something Mystake has either, Garmadon also doesn't have this bagginess!

So the question is, what caused these Oni to become so sickly, so unhealthy? They're powerful, able to spread destruction through a giant mist. Isn't that odd though, that they're able to do this? I mean, Garmadon and Mystake don't as far as we've seen.

My theory is because the Oni have embraced destruction fully.

Looking back at what we see of the Oni prior to their introduction in Season 10, we see that they have made multiple things. The temple, the masks, the stronghold in the first realm. Do you see a pattern here?

THEY CREATE!

They make temples, structures, and build civilizations! Sure the purpose is for war but it's still creation! They make things, they do the very opposite of what they apparently embody. They even carve pictures into their walls, making maps and telling stories, they clearly weren't just purely beings of destruction. They had a system of hierarchy based on the Oni masks being worn by Warlords.

The Oni most likely lost the war against the dragons, based on the fact that they had to flee their home realm and that there's not a single sign of one in Season 9. Now what would a war mongering species do in response to defeat?

Simple, become more powerful.

And they did! They can destroy realms now! They have become purely beings of destruction, yet they're sickly, why?

Because they don't have balance.

Their own destruction is most likely hurting them. Oni that create and have it as part of their lives, like Mystake and Garmadon(prior to being resurrected), are healthy. They have some semblance of balance and that keeps their bodies from being overloaded with destruction.

The rest of the Oni though have obsessed themselves with destruction to the point where they're destroying themselves.
