If I had a nickel for every time an android was a beloved character of mine, who goes on crazy adventures with other crazy people, who likes detective stories, who has "died" multiple times, and who has a long lost brother, I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird how it happened twice.

Remembering the crush I had on Zane from Ninjago makes me wonder whether I just have a thing for androids

Not to be the most autistic person of all time, but I think it would be awesome to see Zane (Ninjago) and Data (Star Trek: TNG) interact.

They are both basically polar opposites, so I think it would be cool for them to be friends.

Zane is a ninja with magic ice powers who initially thought he was human and had to accept his robotics. He also deals with a lot of emotions, even if he doesn't always understand them.

Data is a spaceship science officer who wants to be human and doesn't feel emotion at all.

They are both extremely loyal, protective, and intelligent people with identity issues.

If I had a nickel for every time my favorite character in a show was an autistic-coded android with yellow skin who had a brother built by their father who looks exactly like or extremely similar to them and who their father thought wasn't as perfect as/didn't posses the desired qualities that my favorite character does and were thus discarded/abandoned and then they became antagonistic as a result and also both pairs of character were played/voiced by a guy named Brent then I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

the whole AI thing sucks to me (aside from how terribly people / companies are using it) BECAUSE :

With a whopping 64 gals who are cyborgs, robots, programs, and more this is shaping up to be a fierce and fun competition!

Here are some rules and such before I give you a written list of contenders and their schedules.

Propaganda is welcome and encouraged (so long as you're following rules 1 & 2). If I miss your propaganda don't hesitate to hop in my inbox and point it out to me. I don't always get notifications on this tumblr account for some reason.

HERE BE SPOILERS (potentially). I don't know every fandom in this tournament but given the nature of these sort of characters, spoilers are highly likely for character reveals! By continuing to follow this blog and participate in this tournament you're consenting to seeing spoilers. I would tag them but I genuinely don't know which characters are spoilers and which aren't.

So since I’m dragging my feet with actually starting TNG, I figured I’d work my way through Prodigy instead and it’s pretty good. I like the character development and tone. The showrunners ran the first 9ish seasons of Lego Ninjago so it’s nice to see them dip more into sci fi. Can’t wait for the inevitable character arc/redemption for Gwyndala’s evil dad (for those unfamiliar, the best character in ninjago imo is Garmadon who is the main character Lloyd’s evil dad) Shout out to Ella Purnell as Gwyndala, love hearing her in things. (Jinx from Arcane)

My favorite character is probably hologram Janeway.

I think my biggest issue is the uncanny valley that is most of the character designs and animation. It looks like a video game from the early 2010s. I understand it’s a tv series so I’m not expecting Pixar or or Dreamworks, but at least to me, it looks like they were going for a dreamworks esk character designs, a la monsters vs aliens/megamind. And on a tv budget it’s just not the greatest. It’s the worst for the humanoid characters they import from past trek. The characters/aliens specifically created for the show look good. Special shout out to Rok-Tahk.

Anyway I’m 7 episodes deep and it’s pretty good. Fingers crossed s2 actually gets released.

Not sure I can take another Pantheon. (S2 is done but the show became a tax write off before it was released)
