FF Galore - NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4

In a new strategic move to reposition the S-line glasses onto the F/1.2 aperture in 2024, we have the very approachable, optically inferior USD599 Nikon Z 35mm F/1.4 introduced last week.

In having shot at 35mm all week long with the Nikon Z 24mm F/1.7, I must say it's perhaps the most versatile focal length one would need to cover any travel editorial assignment.

But if a compatible hack is what you need, may I recommend the USD229 Nikon Z 40mm F/2?

Nikon Announces Two Lenses... Is One of them Made by Tamron?

This evening, Nikon announces two new lenses: the NIKKOR Z 70-180MM F/2.8 and the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm F/5.6-6.3 VR. Both lenses will be welcome additions to the growing Z-mount lineup, but the more intriguing of the two is the Nikkor Z 70-180 f/2.8. Is it a Tamron-made lens? It will not escape many people’s notice that the focal length of the lens is exactly the same as the Tamron 70-180 f/2.8…

Yoo Mirae (Korean: 유미래, born January 6, 1997), known professionally as Bliss (Korean: 블리스; Japanese: 至福), is a Korean singer, dancer, and actress based in South Korea. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Venus, formed by Angelico Entertainment in 2018. She is portrayed by Lee Yoomi & Wendy Son.

Mirae was born on January 6, 1997, in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Her mother is the esteemed musical theatre actress Yoo Misun. Mirae attended high school at the School of Performing Arts in Seoul. Throughout her school years, she starred in multiple school musicals. She joined a school drama club and earned more experience in the entertainment industry by attending auditions.

In 2014, Mirae joined Angelico Entertainment as a trainee after passing its auditions. 

In October 2014, she appeared in Emphasis' music video for "Du Du Du!" as a lifeguard. The same year, she starred in Priority's "Say You Love Me" music video as Reid's love interest. In 2015, she would be featured in W Korea alongside Kang Juwon of Priority. Mirae would do a lot of modeling pre-debut, working with brands such as Laneige, Nature Republic, Amuse, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and Etude House.

𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟖: 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐒

On March 17, 2018, Mirae would officially debut in VENUS with the release of their first extended play (EP), SHE DEVIL, and its lead single, "SHE DEVIL." She would take on the stage name "Bliss."

She was the group's co-leader, main rapper, and main vocalist.

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎 - 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏: 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐭

In January 2020, Bliss made her acting debut as the female lead in the web drama Please Try Again, which achieved record-breaking viewership.

On March 24, 2021, Bliss was announced as a cast member for the musical Midnight Sun as Seo Haena, with DAY6's Wonpil, Baekho, DeepDive's Kiwoo, GOT7's Youngjae, Shinee's Onew, Kang Hye-in, Kei, and Lee Ah-jin. To promote the musical, she collaborated with stage member Onew to release "A Melody Called You (너라는 멜로디)"

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐒

On June 10, 2024, during the Venus contract transfer, Bliss, unlike the other four members of Venus, would not sign with Mydol Entertainment. A letter announcing Bliss's departure from the group would be posted to Venus' social media accounts.

It is still under heavy debate if Bliss left the group or was removed by Mydol CEOs.

On August 7th, 2024, Bliss renewed her contract with Angelico Entertainment.

Before her debut with Venus, Yoonah featured in advertisements for Samsonite, Smart Uniform, LG Electronics, and Nikon. 

In September 2018, Bliss and band-mate Baebi became endorsement models for Japanese cosmetics brand Kiss Me. 

In September 2021, Bliss was announced as the new host of the program Music Bank with L.O.L's Jesse. For their performance on the program, they were awarded with the Best Couple Award at the 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards.

In February 2021, Korean clothing brand It Michaa selected Bliss as its muse for its Spring 2021 collection. She was also appointed for the summer 2021 campaign on It Michaa's line, For a Day Michaa. 

In 2022, Coca-Cola Korea selected Bliss as an endorsement model for Dr Pepper.

In January 2023, Bliss stepped down as Music Bank host after sixteen months in the role.

In February 2023, Bliss became the new muse for the South Korean casual fashion brand SJSJ.

In December 2023, Dyson selected Bliss as its official Brand Ambassador, representing the new Dyson hair care products. Then, in January 2024, the American athletic apparel retailer Alo Yoga announced Bliss as the new face for its spring 2024 campaign.

Hide and seek

We were on safari in Kenya and saw this beautiful female cheetah looking for a mate. A group of topi were also keeping a close eye her as she left messages for a potential partner on various trees. This shot makes me think the cheetah is about to shout: ‘Ready or not, here I come!’

2024 Race Queen Retirements - Tomomi Tsuda

While working as a campaign girl while at university in Kumamoto Prefecture, a fan suggested to her that she become a Race Queen. Tomomi auditioned for the Autopolis Circuit Queens and was selected for the 2015 team and remained with them until 2017. She moved to Tokyo in 2018 and made her debut as a race queen as a member of the Pacific Racing Team's Drift Dreamers in D1 Grand Prix motor racing.

At the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon, it was announced that she had become a member of the Subaru BRZ GT Gals Breeze team and stayed with them until 2021. In the same year she was a finalist in the Newcomer Division of the Japan Race Queen Awards 2019. 2022 saw Tomomi move to the Shade Girls team of Shade Racing in both the Super Taikyu and Super GT classes. In the same year as part of Shade Girls, she was nominated in the 2022 Japan Race Queen Awards Costume Division, becoming one of the 10 finalist units. Her final two years as a Race Queen was with Modulo Nakajima Racing as part of the Kenwood Lady team.

A Worthy Nikon Z5 Successor - Nikon Z6 III?

Welcome to the 120Hz 5.76MP EVF era of Nikon mirrorless, a 6-year journey in the making, to possibly deepen the engagement OVF users lost when they abandoned their DSLR.

With a pixel pitch of over 40% bigger than her DX counterpart, and working backward, the Z6 III should at least be getting an effective 28.9 MP output with this FX sensor (perhaps to give her that ISO 64000 edge over ZFC's 51200). Comparatively, the Nikon Z8 has a near-identical sensor density as the Nikon Zfc.

I am also surprised that 16-bit NEF is still absent in Nikon mirrorless line-up in 2024, where others have begun introuducing. The -8 EV AF detection range is indeed impressive, beating even the Nikon Z8 but still lagging behind the cheaper Nikon Zf.

Nikon Z6 II owners can rest easy. Not much loss for not upgrading...

Hello! Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay! Im an amateur photographer located in Canada. Keep reading for more abt the photography or if you want more info on using the pictures you see here if thats why you're here :)

Most of my photography is nature themed, since I live in a pretty rural place and that's just what im surrounded by. Sometimes you'll see the odd picture from when I travel but those can be few and far between. I try and upload once a week at minimum, but I'm always so excited to share my art with the world so they'll probably be more frequent than that (yes I consider it art, come at me). If for whatever reason you feel that I'm stealing or otherwise failing to credit whoever's work it is I post, please get in touch so I can fix it.

I try my best to tag photos taken on film with #film photography and those taken on my digital camera with #digital photography but some things may slip through the cracks.

What equipment do I use?

I used to take most of my pictures on my old Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SPII, but since its a film camera and film can be pretty expensive, I use my digital camera (Nikon Coolpix P530). I’m sorry if they might not be the best quality since I’m uploading all these from my shitty phone so sorry if the resolution is kinda garbage since I have to download the film prints to post them and they may get compressed in the process.

What I ask if you want to use my photography:

Idk what you'd use them for, but this is here for if you do. I'm pretty chill when it comes to what my content gets used for. My rule is that you have to dm me if you want to/are going to use any of my photography for anything. I don't demand much, but on a case by case basis I may ask for things ranging from credit for the picture or a very small fee. Its not like, a business or anything, but I'd like to be able to maintain at least some level of control over what gets done w my content. Thanks :)

Thursday Dec 31, 2023 was a mild sunny day. This was the third movement exercise for Yuliya, a rising track star at IMG Sports Academy. We met on Main Street in Sarasota and began to walk toward the old federal building on Orange Street. In retrospect about a year later, Yuliya wearing the Calvin Klein sweat shirt was ironic. The fashion house announced Dec 20, 2024 its return to the catwalk at NYFW Feb 2025.

This series of images were shot by a floral display in front of Scarlett’s Flowers. Yuliya was flawless in being herself as I shot from a distance.
