main difference between batman and nightwing ISN'T that batman is supposed to be a merciless supercop

its that nightwing is more stable and doesn't depend on having people around him to keep himself out of darkness

however, both are supposed to be sympathetic, compassionate, and help + protect rather than punish and scare, its just that batman is often characterized to be the ladder for some reason

which is a bummer because he truly is at his best when he focuses on reforming villains and understanding them while comforting victims, not screaming "I AM VENGEANCE" and giving brain damage to goons LOL xD
