My friend and I were talking about a hypothetical of Nightmare being redeemed but in the worst senses of those words

Nightmare pretends to be redeemed and changed for the better as a last effort to inflict psychological damage onto the remaining survivors of the GSA, he does this so no one will ever take his conquest of the universe seriously and he would face no real consequences, King Dedede is in on this too because it would ensure that he maintains power over dreamland and thus pardoned from his actions

maybe I will explore this idea in a one-shot but who knows

NIGHTMARE PLEASE

First impression

At first I made him a pretty standard flat one note character being Meta Knight's evil father figure, standard metaknightmare headcannons, sprinkle of evil capitalism/colonizer, i really didn't think a whole lot about him but I knew early on I wanted hyness to have some sort of connection to nightmare

Impression now

He's a wet beast, he is nothing, he is everything, he was just some guy who used the unbreakable human spirit for evil, he is obsessed with puzzles, he is the product of his own pride, hes an opportunist, he won and ruled the universe, and most importantly HE IS DEAD!!

Favorite moment

I liked it when he was voiced by Broadway star Andrew Rannalls for the finale

Idea for a story

Nightmare learns that cheese such as grure and gorganzola induce nightmares, so he tries to sell cheese so he can get powers faster

Unpopular opinion

I've said this a million times on everything, so I'll say it one more time, I dont care how much he tortured meta knight it's all the same. Please write something else, make nightmare play mario kart or something literally anything else.
