This is basically an update of my headcannon of Neptune and Uranus being Canadian (or any country that’s cold, I’m just biased about my own country lol)
Thanks @Objectshowshipper for the idea! I’ve been away from Canada for awhile and didn’t have time to make it :D

Neptune in Pisces – the "end times", fear mongering, and right-wing hysteria
Tumblr media
Back in 2012, Neptune entered Pisces just in time for the 2012 phenomena; a cultural conspiracy movement which believed the world would come to an end in 2012. During the time of the 2007-2009 recession, the percentage of Americans who were unemployment doubled. Poor economic circumstances lead to more Americans attending church and we are seeing similar patterns today as inflation and rent prices continue to rise in the US.
Neptune is currently in the late degrees of pisces, and as Neptune closes out this cycle, we are collectively frustrated and disillusioned with our current systems. It is no surprise to me that with the rise in popularity of new age spirituality during the pandemic of the early 2020's came this movement of Christians as we are seeing today.
The homesteading community has sent my girlfriend and I straight down the conservative pipeline on both Tiktok and Instagram. With this has come a slue of videos outcrying about how we are in the end times -- a young man is close to tears as he describes a Canadian law that would "put Christians in jail for quoting the Bible" and that is was proof of the supposed end times. What this young man described was the proposed Bill C-367, "currently under review in the House of Commons, would repeal “religious exemption” in Section 319 of the Canadian Criminal Code, which critics say could open up Christians and other religious groups to “hate speech” charges over any comments or criticisms of the LGBT movement."
Jupiter and Uranus are currently conjunct in the sign of Taurus right now. The divide between the far left and the far right, the rich and the poor, and the privileged and underprivileged, has never been more palpable, and tensions are high. The two planets will exact one another around April 21st 2024, I expect some major world news/events to take place, perhaps an increase in protests.
Saturn is also in pisces. This week, the NYC governor declared a state of emergency and called in the national guard to patrol subway stations for vague and unclear reasons. This has lead many to speculate about what this could mean and understandably there is a lot of fear.
Overall: Loss of faith (neptune, pisces) in existing systems, structures and institutions (saturn) leading to belief in a higher power.
Confusing, vague circumstances surrounding security. Conspiracies surrounding homeland security. Our institutions and government systems (saturn) are lacking clear definitions and boundaries (pisces). Boundaryless authority (saturn pisces). Fear (saturn) of the unknown (pisces).

Agricultural Astrology
Otherwise known as "planting by the signs", agricultural astrology is a scheduling method used to determine when to cultivate, plant and harvest crops based on the moon's phases and astrological signs. Although there is a lack of scientific evidence to support this concept, it is something people have followed for thousands of years. Many people still swear by agricultural astrology.
What do you need to know to plant by the signs?
Agricultural astrology requires you to pay attention to the moon's phases and astrology signs. It also requires you to have an understanding of the correspondences between the twelve zodiac signs and the body. Every sign is associated with a specific area of the body. The following is information I pulled from the first Foxfire book, which has sixteen pages discussing agricultural astrology. This list contains the twelve zodiac signs, their symbols, corresponding body parts, planets and elements.
Aries | Ram | Head | Mars | Fire
Taurus | Bull | Neck, Throat | Venus | Earth
Gemini | Twins | Arms, Chest | Mercury | Air
Cancer | Crab | Breasts, Stomach | Moon | Water
Leo | Lion | Heart, Back | Sun | Fire
Virgo | Virgin | Bowels | Mercury | Earth
Libra | Balance | Kidneys | Venus | Air
Scorpio | Scorpion | Loins | Mars | Water
Sagittarius | Archer | Thighs | Jupiter | Fire
Capricorn | Goat | Knees | Saturn | Earth
Aquarius | Waterman | Legs, Ankles | Uranus | Air
Pisces | Fish | Feet | Neptune | Water
By paying attention to the astrological forecast for the year, you will be given an idea on when the ideal time is to cultivate, plant and harvest your garden. There are no official "rules" on how to do this per say, but many individuals swear by the ways they were taught.
You'll find that most people use terms such as airy, dry, barren, fiery, earthy, moist, watery, fruitful or very fruitful. The first Foxfire book also uses terms such as feminine and masculine. Before y'all go bashing the Foxfire books for this, I will inform you that the first Foxfire book was published in 1972. Society had a very different perspective on gender and gender roles during that time. I reference this book because, although it is very old-school, it is still a useful reference.
It can be difficult to make notes of these things for every year, but there is a way you can get around that. The Old Farmer's Almanac is a company that has a website where you can look up their interpretation of the astrological forecast and when it is best to plant things. They also publish books for every year, which I suggest buying if you can. They always contain much more than astrological dates and predictions. The books are not too expensive, but keep in mind that the Farmer's Almanac is limited to the United States and Canadian regions.
Notes from the First Foxfire Book
Cultivating & Planting
Planting is best done in the fruitful signs of Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus or Cancer (when the signs are in the lions, feet, neck or breasts).
Plow, till and cultivate in Aries.
Never plant anything in one of the barren signs. They are only good for trimming, deadening and destroying.
Always set plants out in a water or earth sign.
Graft before the sap starts to flow, while the moon is in its first or second quarter, and while it is passing through a fruitful watery sign, or Capricorn. Never graft or plant on Sunday as this is a barren, hot day (the sun's day).
Plant flowers in Libra which is an airy sign that also represents beauty. Plant them while the moon is in the first quarter unless you need the seeds, in which case use the period between the moon's second quarter and full.
Corn planted in Leo will have a hard, round stalk and small ears.
Crops planted in Taurus and Cancer will stand drought.
Plant beans when the signs are in the arms.
Root flower cuttings, limbs, vines, and set out flower bushes and trees in December and January when the signs are in the knees and feet.
Never transplant in the heart or head as both these signs are "Death Signs".
If you want a large vine and stalk with little fruit, plant in Virgo- "bloom days".
Don't plant potatoes in the feet. If you do, they will develop little nubs like toes all over the main potato. The best time is a dark night in March.
Plant all things which yield above the ground during the increase or growing of the moon, and all things which yield below the ground (root crops) when the moon is decreasing or darkening.
Never plant on the first day of the new moon, or on a day when the moon changes quarters.
In the fourth quarter turn sod, pull weeds and destroy.
Reaping & Harvesting
Pick fruit like apples and pears in the old of the moon (while it is decreasing or shrinking). This will cause the bruised spots and blemishes to dry up rather than rot. They will rot if the fruit is picked on the increase or rising of the moon, or the new moon.
Harvest most crops when the moon is growing old. This will cause them to keep better and longer.
Dig root crops for seed in the third quarter of the moon. They will keep longer and are usually drier and better.
Gather root crops in the last quarter of the moon when the signs are in the knees or feet.
Can vegetables, cook preserves and jelly, and make pickles in the right sign during the last quarter of the moon.
Notes from "Backwoods Witchcraft" by Jake Richards
Plant peas and other crops that produce multiples when the sign is in the arms (Gemini). However, never plant green beans at this time, as they'll bloom themselves to death and won't bear anything worthwhile.
Always plant corn when the sign is in Leo, which is associated with the heart. Under Leo, it will grow tall and be less prone to blight or bugs.
The heart and chest (Cancer) is the best sign for fast germination.
Plants flowers in sign of the "posy girl" (Virgo), as this causes plants to flower a lot but bear little fruit. (Virgo is the worst sign to plant food under, especially since it's associated with the bowels.)
Cut flowers when the sign is in the head (Aries) to keep the blooms from wilting too fast.

I guess another reason why this anti/proship debate has spurred me to write so long about it is because so many of the big name Sailor Moon blogs proclaim to be proshippers.
Many Sailor Moon fans are acting like I am anti and that I police people's use of work. But the reality is, for the past, oh 30, years, since the franchise's inception, Internet fans have acted as fanpols in the Sailor Moon community.
You see about 30 years ago, Sailor Moon aired on American and Canadian TV. Sailor Moon is an old anime. It was the story of Serena and her friends and it was awesome.
However, Internet fanpols wouldn't have it. They would go on campaigns to "educate" fans about Sailor Moon and how she wasn't really Serena even though she was called that in the dialogue. They went on campaigns to mock people who did not use the names found either in the Japanese language version of the anime or in the manga.
I argued then that as I argued now, that author intent is pointless, and that the character shouldn't be seen the "correct" way aside from that was portrayed in the episodes themselves, and that people should be allowed to see the characters "incorrectly." For instance, one of the characters was female, but in the Japanese version, this character was male. The argument was that because that character was assigned a gender, they had to stay that gender and that no other way of looking at the character was allowed. It was your standard TERF arguments applied against fictional characters. My argument was that it didn't matter what the gender character was assigned but how the character was displayed and there was nothing wrong with seeing this character as female.
The end result of all this fanpol interference is that they won. The Sailor Moon that actually aired on TV over 20 years is completely unavailable from a legal standpoint. It has gotten so bad that people have watched the new Sailor Moon episodes and reporting remembering seeing these episode as kids.
Now that those fans got what they wanted and not only erased decades of precedent they want to claim they are proship. Not when you harassed fan artists who dared give Neptune or Uranus male love interests, when you laughed at fan theories, and most importantly, you made fans of the actual Sailor Moon they watched on TV feel unwelcome because they didn't like Sailor Moon the "correct" way.

Christmas Carol-cember, Day 13
Here’s a company name that should make anyone who grew up in the 90s wax nostalgia: DIC Entertainment.
Tumblr media
Getting it’s start in the 1970s, the company decided to jump on the bandwagon with producing animation in the 1980s with the hope to follow other animation studios that could make a killing on making shows based on a toy line. Their achievement was “Inspector Gadget,” a show that made gangbusters for their profits even as they were quietly moving all their animation overseas to save money while paying lower rates in countries like Korea, Taiwan and Japan. They went so far to keep costs down, they positioned themselves as the only non-union animation studio by setting up their headquarters in Japan while making countless distribution deals with home video companies like CBS/Fox Video and The Video Collection.
Eventually, they learned it was more profitable to slap their name on shows that were made out of the country and then bring them to America and reap the profits.
Tumblr media
Cynical as that sounds, the shows they brought to American televisions were pretty entertaining and had their own plethora of fans. Heck, DIC was the company that dubbed the hugely popular Japanese show “Sailor Moon” and helped bring it to American audiences, even if it meant hilarious translations like implying the openly gay Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus were “cousins.”
Tumblr media
Sure...
DIC Entertainment went public in 2004, resulting in a short term distribution deal with Disney and Jetix that allowed for a brief stint distributing "Power Rangers" in Canada before Disney figured they could keep the profits for themselves and rescinded on the deal. In 2008, DIC and the media company Cookie Jar Group announced a merger that would make DIC an subsidiary of Cookie Jar. From that point on, all shows that were under the DIC name were now “Cookie Jar Entertainment” until 2014 when Cookie Jar ceased all operations before being acquired by the Canadian Entertainment company WildBrain Ltd.
But long before that happened, DIC had acquired enough money to put together a direct to video adaptation of A Christmas Carol that got some pretty big name actors involved. With animation from one of their outsourced studios, Han Yang Animation from South Korea who worked on DIC's “Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?,” “Mummies Alive” and “Madeline: Lost in Paris,” as well as a distribution deal from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, DIC’s take on the Dickens story hit video shelves on October 1997, no doubt to cause confusion to parents thinking this was a Disney flick and brought it home to the kiddos.
Boy how disappointed they must have been.
youtube
The funny thing is, the A-List actors they pulled to be in this could have played these characters on stage or in live action and still pulled it off.
Tim Curry is a treasure. Just scoring him to play Scrooge was enough to get me check this out and he does not disappoint. Curry knows the ways of words and how to squeeze out the amount of sinister energy needed on the words he’s reading off. His Scrooge is one who distrusts everyone, to the point he has to constantly justify his cruelty. While he often hams up a few lines, he remains consistent to this idea of the character as someone so guarded he can’t open up to allow people into his life and creates this cold shell to push everyone away.
Tumblr media
The rest of the cast round out very well. Ed Anser’s Jacob Marley is less terrifying and more crest-fallen in his performance. He’s returning to Scrooge not to scare him to accept the changes coming to him, but like an old friend coming by to sit you down for an intervention. There’s warmth in his performance that is hardly ever felt in most performances.
Tumblr media
Perhaps no other surprise could I have had than Whoopi Goldberg as the Ghost of Christmas Present, marking her as the rare instance where this ghost is played by a woman of color instead of a man. Goldberg sells it too, celebrating life while she’s judging of Scrooge’s behavior and finds a witty retort to chide him but there’s a genuine sense of care in her demeanor, even downright sadness when she ages so quickly and has to bid Scrooge farewell. A sadness that reflects on the short lifespan of the Present and how there’s only so much time to show the world around. It’s a legitimately good performance, one that finds a rare balance between the goofy side of the character vs the side that judges Scrooge on his toxic beliefs.
Tumblr media
Career voice actress Kath Soucie takes on the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past, complete with a goofy Cockney Accent. She does a pretty good job, but she's a talented actress with a voice that always makes me wax nostalgia.
Then there’s Michael York as Bob Cratchit and Jodi Benson as Belle, the woman Scrooge let get away.
They do fine.
Moving on.
Oh and Frank Welker, a veteran career voice actor who has been doing voice work since the 1960s and shows no signs of stopping, plays Scrooge’s dog Debit.
Yes, this version has a cartoon dog that makes silly faces and reacts to things happening to Scrooge.
Keep this in mind; back in the 1990s, as Walt Disney Studios experienced a resurgence of popularity and success with their animated feature films during a period fans regard as “The Disney Renaissance,” many other film studios and small animation companies swept in to try and capitalize on this resurgence. The home video market was the main target as small time companies like Golden Films or DIC would jump in to produce a cash grab film, put it on VHS shelves and trick parents into renting it or buying it for the kiddos without realizing they got the wrong version before it was too late and the companies had your money.
This was so egregious, Disney actually went to court over mislabeling and forced these companies to have to make it clear their films were not Disney. But it didn’t stop them from making their own animated musical films with cartoon animals because Disney was doing it.
Hell, I’ll give DIC this, at least they actually hired a Disney Princess to be in this. Still doesn't put them on the same pedestal as Disney though. Especially when her song, while lovely at times, is no "When Love Is Gone" from the Muppet version.
Tumblr media
The songs…well, credit to John Campbell and Megan Cavallari who worked on the music for this, they put their heart into this. The melodies work, the lyrics, while on the nose and don't show a lot of ambition for song structure, aren’t totally stale and they function well with the narrative. It also helps they don’t overstay their welcome and are over in a jiffy. My problem is they clearly didn’t have a lot of instrumentation to work with so most of the songs sound like they had keyboards and set different instrumentation to play on the songs and mix them together. Which is pretty par for the course for straight to video movies like this.
youtube
But I don’t want to be rude and imply this film has no value to exist.
After all, for countless people who want to work in the film industry, home video movies made outside the major studios like these were how you got your foot in the door. For countless animators who lost their jobs at Disney, Warner Bros or MGM, working on these kind of films or series was how they could keep their pensions. Even voice actors trying to build their resumes had to take on work like this to showcase their demo reels for their talents or to stay afloat when voiceover roles were not coming through for them.
Even the cheapest made films have some merit, at the cost of tricking consumers of their hard earned money.
For all this film's faults, I don’t regret watching it, but I don’t have a lot of praise to offer it as a recommendation.
The cast is easily the best thing about this movie, with Whoopi Goldberg giving a fantastic performance and Tim Curry giving a truly superb vocal performance as Scrooge that I wish I could have seen him do in live action. But outside of vocal performances, the film’s cheap-looking quality just screams “rented off the video market shelves,” which, as I elaborated on above, was pretty much the aim and goal of DIC Entertainment.
Make it fast, make it for a low amount of money and whatever money we can give, just have an international animation studio do the hard work at a lower cost.
A mindset that has not gone away since the 1990s, especially when Disney is pulling this tactic of producing a TV series before going around and turning it into a feature film so they can make a feature film for less than the cost.
Looking at you “Moana 2."
Tumblr media
Still, if you’re nostalgic for a time period where you picked up video tapes like this from Blockbuster, sat down with animal crackers and Capri Sun juice packs before a box TV set and slipped the movie into the VHS player, give it a chance. You might be surprised by what you find, but just don’t expect top-tier animation quality.
1997’s “A Christmas Carol” can be streamed on Pluto TV, Xumo Play and Roku. Though you can also find the full film on YouTube for free like I did.
Next time, we’re gonna cover a movie musical that gets the biggest stars to do this song and dance routine set to songs by the guys who gave us “Dear Evan Hansen."

We are sitting here listening to them talking about our son and they're horrible and you're seeing what you do today and all this garbage and the kids are invincible in there all very sick and they need to leave and I'm putting the order out on them
-we discussed a few things this morning about how to handle our question about Saturday and Jupiter Uranus and Neptune and it turns out like this Neptune and Uranus are far away and lasers take time to get to Earth and they take too long you don't have any safeties up and it's going to drag on like it is until we do with them Canadian and losing in the Canadian back gaining back and it's damn dangerous and doesn't mean anything it's still very unsafe if they gain it back it's more unsafe and I went over that then I went over the fact that we could hide behind the Sun and shrink it down and it wouldn't see it as big and it's very fact that he can get fairly small by comparison and it's much harder to see when it's smaller and it almost completely invincible so we discussed it and we're bringing it up anyways if we're at 70% or 80%? Even maintained until next year but we use up all the food and it would be good for him but really we don't have that kind of food available and he's going to be shrinking down anyways until the project comes up and by then we will have a bunch of them so I said we're going to proceed and we got everything in there for the project to go either way and you said to and they said that he's going to move it and stuff I said we all have to work at it and he did that on purpose so we all make it so it does not move and they said this is good and was going to proceed and it seems like you don't believe it but their fleet is not so big now it was huge and we don't want to be huge again and there's no satiating them by having a huge fleet to take away later I'm going to see what happens claims for some reason so we are going to go ahead and we're going to do this and it's going to work and we can make it so they don't too and we will check and make sure and we're going to be going after them for it and we will have to breach and we need to force it we're not doing it and we will have to. We have other things and they can't see that either they've been a complete panic and they're not panicking at all that's really why it's the same thing it's about 15,000 miles and they would have lost it and those ones you see in the videos are not that big they're about a thousand miles or 500 miles and I used to seeing those and we'll see the big mask now we have to get going on this and we're going to do it
Thor Freya
There are a couple more things but we're going to publish
Olympus your idea is very valid and seen almost fire is not going to cut it and you know why it doesn't keep the Earth intact and it doesn't save our people the explosion won't kill everybody it only kills them in a certain radius if they're there and we need assistance I just need to sign on where we are and there

AveryCanadianFilm: War on Earth
A Scene From 'A Very Canadian Film'
Setting: In a dream Tshi is transported to a room at the galactic center, around a conference like table, sit a group of luminous beings.
Saturn: Medusa, how are you? Medusa: Feeling much better, thank you. Mercury: There's a vicious rumor that Australia is about to declare war on Canada! Venus: {Glaring at Pluto}  hmmmm, I wonder who started that rumor? Pluto: {Smiles and Shrugs} Mars: War! WAR! another War! Jupiter: {Sighs} How many wars are going on that planet? Mercury: Difficult to say, covert, civil, undeclared, so on and so forth, makes it very difficult to get a good count. Pallas Athena: Why would Australia go to war against Canada? Uranus: Self-defense. Saturn: They're being pounded by extreme weather. Venus: {Looking at Pluto out of the corner her eye} Did someone suggest it's because of Canada's heavy carbon footprint? Pluto: {Smiles and Shrugs} Medusa: {Crying} Thanks guys. Pluto: {Gives her his handkerchief} There, there, dear. Venus: {Resumes glaring at Pluto} Neptune: Just getting warmed up. Mars: {Smiles} Another war, splendid! Mercury, I need some facts. How many nuclear warheads, aircraft carriers, etc. Mercury: Right. Venus: Sol you're awfully quiet? Sol: Yawns, actually I'm feeling more active. Pluto: Mercury, how many nuclear reactors does Australia have? Mercury: None. Pluto: And, Canada? Venus: {Gives Pluto a stern look}  Why are you asking? Pluto: {Smiles and Shrugs} Saturn: {Looks around the table} Is this necessary?

Marjorie Lajoie and Zach Lagha: Saturn and Uranus transits
2020 Canadian silver medalists, 2019 Junior World champions
Tumblr media
This year, with transiting Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus for the entire year, people with fixed placements in their chart - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius- from 5°-15° will be receiving hard transits. This may sound difficult, but the impetus from hard transits seems to give some athletes more focus and determination to succeed, the way diamonds are created from pressure, so it will be interesting to follow the Olympic season to see how this plays out.
Zach Lagha is a double Aries, but he has a very prominent fixed T-square in his chart in Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius which has been and will continue to be activated this year.
Tumblr media
Saturn activated his T-square by transit in Jan-Feb, and it will again Sept-Nov, during the competition season.
Transit Saturn square his Saturn: period of soul searching and examining what's working and what's not. relates back to something which started around 7 years ago. (Around those years, he and Marjorie won Canadian Nationals as Pre-Novice, then Novice, broke up their partnership for 6 months in 2015 and then decided to skate together again). Aspects of your life which withstand the tests of this period will be strong and worthwhile.
Transit Saturn conjunct his Neptune: self doubt, uncertainty, anxiety. ability to make sacrifices for the higher good
Transit Saturn square his Mars: possibility for conflicts with others where your ambitions may make others feel defensive. need to be careful of health
His T-square has Mars opposite Saturn which can give you a deep need to prove your worth to yourself through achieving, and Neptune gives him an outlet for that through creativity and self expression. skating seems like a natural way of expressing the energies of this, so the transits may be evolving how he views and approaches it.
Tumblr media
Marjorie Lajoie is a Scorpio with her Sun squaring Uranus in Aquarius in her chart, so she is getting some major transits as well.
Transiting Saturn squares her Sun (May-June 2021, Jan 2022): an important time for development. may feel discouraged or low in energy and feel challenged by outside forces. requires patience and perseverance. this period is linked to a time 7 years ago. a time of trial when things that aren't working fall away or need to be cut out. things which are working well culminate.
Transiting Uranus opposes her Sun (mid June-October): can be sudden changes which challenge you to stand up for yourself and take on more responsibility. things which have been restricting or limiting you may give way to more freedom but may rock your sense of security. adapting rather than resisting usually leads to better results.
To top it off, their composite chart of their relationship is heavily fixed, with Sun, Neptune, Uranus in Aquarius and Jupiter in Taurus.
Transit Saturn conjuncted their composite Sun in Jan/Feb: time of tremendous responsibility and hard work. concentration of energy that might feel restricted but keeps you focused.
Transit Saturn square composite Jupiter (end of March-April, end of June-July, end of Dec 2021-early Jan. 2022): freedom of action may be limited, making you feel restless or frustrated. competitive and complicated environments test your beliefs and values. pressure from authority figures. a need to be patient and not take any shortcuts.
Transit Uranus conjunct composite Jupiter (May, Dec 2021- Mar 2022): sudden changes or events which bring new possibilities. openness to new viewpoints or ways of looking at the world. wanting freedom and to take chances.

Okay so can someone please agree with me that the Ice giants are like Canadian/Russia?? Or basically anywhere that gets pretty cold.
I'm Canadian and I've seen people booking it down the street in only a t-shirt and shorts in winter! Multiple times each year! Hell some people even wear flip flops andďżź sandals ďżźwhen it's snowing out! Not to mention the people who bike in winter! (This is not just a Canadian thing too!)
So why can't the ice planets do the same? It'd be so funny for earth to be freezing his ass of while Uranus is just chilling there in a t-shirt and sandals with a piĂąa colada ďżźin hand having the time of his life!
Where's my Neptune and Uranus who don't give a shit about how cold it is no matter how much Jupiter or Saturnďżź yells a them? Those two fuckers refuse to wear anything but their T-shirts because "It's to hooootttttt" while Jupiter is freezing his butt off trying to convince them to wear a appropriate clothing for their placement on the ďżźsolar system, hell let their moons in on the fun! Why not!
Anyways thank you for coming to late night rambling with Thunder <3

Hi Colour! I have to say I'm very intrigued by your "real life Dani" nickname haha what did you do to earn that? (I can see why they call you smut queen tho 😂)
I know right, me and canadian roommate could have been great together yes, if I wasn't too busy chasing an emotionally unavailable capricorn that made me want to not date anyone ever again but I digress.
Gemini mercury! Now here's the real reason why you're such a chatter box! Haha Mercury helps to define how we take in and give out information from the world around us. It's all about communication style and how you process information. And your gemini mercury means you have extensive knowledge on a variety of topics, can process information quickly and you're a great storyteller (we can all verify that last one, thank you very much for your services ma'am!). You learn best in stimulating environments since you tend to get bored easily. I feel like you don't use your intuition very often tho, you'd rather take the logical route when making decisions. Let me tell you, you are not a boring orator, quite the contrary really.
Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in scorpio tells us about a generation's purpose. You are here to bring deep emotional connection to this world. Part of this generations work is to assist in bringing meaningfulness into the everyday. Pluto in Scorpio people are here to look beneath the surface, to find work that is meaningful, and to find purpose in existing. This generation is okay with transforming systems that no longer serve us to connect to movements that are inclusive, sustainable, and inspired. (✊🏳‍🌈)
And to be honest with you I don't really understand Uranus and Neptune placements but from what I've gathered they just basically describe millennials. Haha
Do you listen to Hozier? I've got a couple ideas regarding his songs and Dani x Jamie I wanted to throw your way if you'd indulge me.
- 🔮✨ astrology anon (not so much anon now eh)
HEY!! So I got my Dani nickname because I'm a teacher, I work with kids and I love working with them and recently I have taken a slightly different career path in life to work one on one with kids that have learning difficulties / behavioural issues so I can give them the help and attention they deserve rather than trying to split myself between 25 kids... if I work with 1 kid or small groups of kids I can actually make a difference... when people asked me what I did for a living and I told them what my career and life goes are it prompted some people to start calling me Dani which I am very okay with Smut Queen... makes total sense too though so like I'm fine with both haha 😂 You could've been great together!! I am so sorry that the emotionally unavailable Capricorn made you feel that way though!! Oooo my Gemini in Mercury makes A LOT of sense for me... I do have extensive knowledge in topics I just give out useless facts to people all the time, I did it to one of my sisters last week and she was just like "How do you even know that?? I mean it's cool you know this stuff but HOW??" I am great during pub quizzes and trivial pursuit though!! Awwh thank you for saying you can tell I'm a great story teller I am so happy you think that way and that you enjoy my fics!! I very rarely use intuition and do look at logical routes more than just diving straight into things!! Glad I'm not boring though this is something I always worry about especially given the career I have gone into haha I love this for Pluto and and Jupiter and I think it definitely matches people of this generation perfectly with all the things we have stood up for and all the changes we have been able to make to the world thus far this definitely makes sense Haha I also love that Neptune just describes millennials like you don't need to even say more than that it just makes sense haha!! Thank you for all this information this has been a lot of fun!! I listen to some Hozier but not loads, but I am always interested in listening to new music especially when people have tied ideas to them for Dani x Jamie I will 100% indulge you in that!! Haha definitely not anon anymore but we can still keep astronomy anon if that's what you prefer... -colours, smut queen, Dani (whatever you wanna call me really) ☺️

I know personifying stuff is OUT and not cool anymore since we made all those websites and countries human
but like, I am always tempted to make my solar system personification AU, but instead of based off the Greek Gods (because nah) it’s based off the fact Venus is a hot fucking mess that spins backwards
Mercury is a mysterious ho that you can barely see since she hides within the suns light (think ‘sun goth,’ very lonely, very fast, cryptid of the solar system)
Jupiter is so big it could eat the others and might as well be the savior of the whole damn place (Big Damn Hero/Big Dyke Energy is the theme here)
Mars is earth’s unlucky older brother who can’t get his act together, spends all his time with dogs, an ‘almost’ kinda person, almost got that job, almost landed that deal, almost had life on it, almost has a ring forming around it
Saturn is a beautiful but distant older sister, one of the brightest things in the night sky but also emotionally flat (’flat’ lmao) and bad at expressing herself or anything at all
Uranus and Neptune are even more distant cousins that no one invites to the family gatherings, they live up north and are probably Canadian
the rest of the solar system is hardcore and made of horror-terror material and toxic stuff, but earth (nicknamed ‘Goldilocks’ in this story since it’s in the Goldilocks zone) is soft and special and weirder than all the rest, made of water and microbes and inner demons that make her a lil sick (but not that sick)
anyway, it’s either called ‘Eight Tracks Home’ or ‘Milky Bois Crew’ since our galaxy name is ridiculous

^ALL OF THIS. Sailor Moon was the first time I ever saw a canon LGBT+ couple in media targeted for kids, in 1994/1995ish, and even then it was only in the Japanese subs. (Only very recently have new versions been made that proper refer to Uranus & Neptune as a lesbian couple, not “friends” or “cousins” as the older dubs did.)
I heard about Japan’s thriving yaoi market through Ai no Kusabi (also made in 1994, WTF was going on that year?)--but that’s explicitly for adults, though it’s anime, too.
Tumblr media
TBH I think Brokeback Mountain got so popular because it was a major Hollywood production with an already famous (heterosexual?) cast; as Heath Ledger was THE heartthrob back then. But there had been plenty of other LGBT media came before that, most notably Queer as Folk and The L Word. The American version of Queer as Folk utterly revolutionized LGBT+ media (there was a Canadian one before that which no one ever talks about U_U), and put the community in the Western mainstream, until RuPaul’s Drag Race finally made its representation more diverse & inclusive (ironically, the LGBT+ community still has a long way to go with its own racism & misogyny & toxic masculinity). But again, kids had nothing made for them featuring LGBT+ pairings. Even RuPaul’s Drag Race isn’t technically for kids (due to the explicit language).
LGBT+ has long suffered under the stigma that it’s something perverse and explicit and not for kids or even mass audiences. Even as late as 2018, Tumblr took part in associating any & everything LGBT-related with sexually explicit conduct NSFW and NSFK (Not Safe For Kids). Tumblr flagged a ton its content behind Safe Mode--during Pride Month even--before people cussed Tumblr out for its blatant homophobia. As if LGBT+ representation can’t be wholesome and mundane and not sexually explicit. 🙄 Now Tumblr has the rainbow colors for LGBT+ tags, but nah, we remember you.
So yup, it’s was a HUGE deal for Korra to be given a canon lesbian relationship in a major frontlining Nickelodeon cartoon for kids. Even with something as innocuous as handholding, the fandom easily read between the lines to know what was going on, even without a bombastioc love exclamation or kiss/makeout/sex/etc scene.

Public Astro-Events
Taking advantage of the moon, Saturn, Mars, and other bright objects in the sky this week, the RASC Toronto Centre astronomers will hold their free monthly public City Sky Star Party in Bayview Village Park (steps from the Bayview subway station), starting around 7 pm on the first clear weeknight this week (Mon to Thu). You don’t need to be an RASC member, or own any equipment, to join them. Check here for details, and check the banner on their website home page or Facebook page for the GO or NO-GO decision around 5 pm each day.
Every Monday evening, York University’s Allan I. Carswell Observatory runs an online star party - broadcasting views from four telescopes/cameras, answering viewer questions, and taking requests! Details are here. On Wednesday nights they offer free public viewing through their rooftop telescopes. If it’s cloudy, the astronomers give tours and presentations. Details are here.
The Allan I. Carswell Observatory at York University will also be open for free public Leonid Meteor Shower viewing on the first clear weeknight this week. Details are here.
At the Deer Park Library on Tuesday evening, November 13 at 2 pm, Dr. John Percy, Professor Emeritus of Astronomy at U of T will present The Amazing Universe. Details are here.
At Roy Thomson Hall on Thursday evening, November 15 at 8 pm, notable Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield will present Generator, an evening of comedy, music, and ideas. Tickets and details are here.
On Friday, November 16, starting at 7 pm, U of T’s AstroTour will present their free planetarium show entitled Grand Tour of the Cosmos. Details are here.
Leonids Meteor Shower
We’ve now entered meteor shower season! Over the next few months, we’ll experience a wave of several showers. The Leonids Meteor Shower, which is derived from material dropped by repeated past passages of Comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, will peak on November 17/18. The maximum number of Leonids will appear before dawn local time, because that is when the sky overhead will be plowing directly into the cloud of particles that produce the shower.
The meteors can appear anywhere in a dark sky, but true Leonids will be travelling in a direction away from a location (the radiant) just above the stars that form the head of Leo (the Lion). You can watch for meteors in the evening, too – but many of them will be hidden from view below the Earth’s horizon. This week’s meagre moon will keep the sky darker – ideal for seeing fainter meteors.
To see the most meteors, find a wide-open dark location, preferably away from light polluted skies, and just look up with your unaided eyes. Binoculars and telescopes are not useful for meteors – their field of view are too narrow. If the peak night is cloudy, several nights on either side will be almost as good. Happy hunting!
The Moon and Planets
This is the best week of the lunar month to pull out your binoculars and telescopes to look at the moon. Each evening, the moon will wax fuller and shift farther from the sun. While this is happening, the sun will be slowly rising over the moon’s surface. Its low-angled sunlight will illuminate peaks and crater edges while casting deep black shadows between them. It also reveals subtle topographic features, such as ridges and cracks on crater floors, that are otherwise invisible. New sections of the moon are highlighted every night. And, the moon will be visible right after dinner – how convenient!
Tumblr media
(Above: Venus will appear below Spica this week, as shown here at 6 am local time on Monday.)
Tonight (Sunday), the moon will appear as a beautiful crescent, shining like a Cheshire Cat’s smile over the western horizon after twilight. It will also be sitting a few finger widths to Saturn’s upper left. From Tuesday through Thursday, the moon will cross Capricornus (the Sea-Goat), landing just three finger widths from Mars on Thursday. The duo will set in the west at about midnight local time. (Observers in most of Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, and southern South America will see the moon pass in front of, i.e., occult, Mars at about 06:00 Greenwich Mean time.) The moon will also reach its First quarter phase on Thursday, when it will appear half-illuminated until it sets at midnight local time.
Turning now to the planets, very bright Venus is now shining in the morning pre-dawn eastern sky. This week, the planet will pass only a finger’s width to the lower left of the bright white star Spica in Virgo (the Maiden).
Tumblr media
(Above: Jupiter and Mercury are embedded in the western evening twilight this week, as shown here at 5 pm local time on Sunday, November 11.)
In the evening sky, Jupiter and Mercury are both located very low in the southwestern sky after sunset, embedded in twilight, leaving Saturn and Mars as your best planetary targets.
Even though it is gradually dimming as Earth pulls farther away from it, reddish Mars will continue to dominate the southern evening sky this week. Only the moon is brighter. Look for a bright, reddish, star-like object shining in the lower half of the southern sky after dusk. It’s among the stars of Aquarius (the Water-Bearer), which we’ll describe below. Mars will set in the west at about midnight local time.
Tumblr media
(Above: The moon will land near Saturn on Sunday, November 11, as shown here at 6 pm local time. Mars will be five fist diameters to the upper left.)
Dimmer and yellowish Saturn is located five fist diameters to the lower right of Mars this week. After the sky has darkened, even a small telescope should be able to show you some of Saturn’s larger moons, especially its largest satellite, Titan. Using a clock’s dial analogy, Titan will move counter-clockwise over the course of this week – starting from a position at 4 o’clock (to the lower right of Saturn) tonight, and ending up next Sunday at 11 o’clock (to the upper left of Saturn). (Remember that your telescope might flip and/or invert the view. Use the moon to find out how your telescope changes things and keep a note of it, since that will always be the case.)
Tumblr media
(Above: Mars has been sliding towards Neptune, and more easterly Uranus, as shown here at 6 pm local time this week.)
Mars’ orbital motion has been carrying it eastward towards distant Neptune, which will be located about 1.5 fist diameters to the left (east) of Mars this week. The blue, ice giant planet is visible from dusk until just after 1 am local time. Using a decent quality telescope you can see the magnitude 7.8 planet sitting about two finger widths to the left of the modestly bright star Hydor (Lambda Aquarii). Neptune will highest in the southern sky (and best viewing conditions) at about 7:30 pm local time.
Blue-green Uranus (“YOU-ran-us”) is farther to the east than Neptune. It’s still close to its peak brightness (magnitude 5.7) and size for this year. You can see it without optical aid under very dark skies, but binoculars and telescopes will work better. By mid-evening, Uranus will be high enough in the eastern sky to see it clearly. Look for it about 2 finger widths to the left (east) of the modestly bright star Torcular (Omega Piscium). That star sits a generous palm’s width above the “V” where the two starry cords of Pisces (the Fishes) meet. The planet will be carried higher in the sky until 10:30 pm local time.
Tumblr media
(Above: The main belt asteroid Juno will reach opposition on November 17, as depicted here at 9 pm local time.)
On Saturday, November 17, the major main belt asteroid Juno will reach opposition. At that time, Earth will be passing between the asteroid and the sun, minimizing our distance from Juno and causing it to appear at its brightest and largest for this year. The magnitude 7.45 object will be visible in binoculars and small telescopes all night long after it rises in the east at 6:30 pm local time. Juno will be positioned about equally distant from the bright stars Aldebaran in Taurus (the Bull) and Rigel in Orion (the Hunter). It will reach its highest position, about halfway up the southern sky, at midnight local time.
The Water Constellations – Aquarius the Water-Bearer
Evenings in late autumn feature a grouping of constellations over the southern horizon that share a common theme – the Sea. Collectively known as the water constellations, they aren’t very prominent, composed mainly of modest and dim stars, but this week’s moonless sky will offer an opportunity to see them better. Over the two weeks, I’ll talk about each of the watery constellations. Last week, it was Capricornus (the Sea-Goat), which I posted here.
Tumblr media
(Above: Aquarius, the Water-Bearer, is located just to the east of Capricornus the Sea-Goat, and north of another water constellation, Piscis Austrinis. All three are in the southern evening sky during November.)
This time, we’ll look at the sea-goat’s eastern neighbour.
Straddling the ecliptic, immediately to the east (left) of Capricornus is another zodiac constellation, Aquarius (the Water-bearer). This is one of the oldest recorded constellations, probably because of its place on the ecliptic / zodiac and because it re-appeared in the morning sky at the time of year that brought the return of desperately needed rains, and the flooding of the Nile, in ancient Egypt. It’s certainly not because of its stars. Its pattern is made from about 14 modestly-bright stars with visual magnitudes near the limit for suburban observers.
Aquarius spans an area that measures about 3.5 outstretched fist diameters wide by 2 diameters high. It is traditionally depicted as a kneeling figure, facing east, who is pouring water from a vessel. A crooked horizontal string of stars represent his right arm outstretched towards the west, his bowed head and shoulders, and his left hand, which bears the jug. This is the most easily seen part of the constellation. Descending from this line is a loose chain of stars representing the flowing water and another representing his torso and legs. In some stories, he’s Zeus pouring out the water of life upon the world. In others, the waters are those of the biblical flood, a story handed down from the Sumerians. As we’ll soon see, the stars of Aquarius are “lucky”.
By the time the sky has darkened enough to see it, Aquarius is due south, positioned about halfway between the southern horizon and the zenith. To help you find it, you can use the great square (or baseball diamond) of Pegasus, which sits much higher and to the left (east). With “home plate” as the bottom star, extend an imaginary line from third base to first base, and continue in the same direction by the same distance (about two fist diameters) to Aquarius’ highest and brightest star, Sadelmelik.
In a dark sky, up to 100 stars can be counted in the constellation, but only a few are easily seen near city lights. Try to spot the four stars that extend a wide palm’s width from Sadelmalik eastward to the left. One of the four stars sits a couple of finger widths below the line formed by the other three. At the eastern end of the four sits a modest star designated Eta Aquarii. The radiant of the springtime Eta Aquariid Meteor Shower is located close to this star.
Jumping 1.5 finger widths to the right of Eta brings us to a closely spaced double star that’s only 91 light-years away from us named Sadaltager "Luck of the merchant". Two finger widths to the lower right of Sadaltager is the white star Sadachbia, which comes from the Arabic phrase sa'd al-akhbiya "lucky stars of the tents". Then we hop higher again and westward to Sadelmelik, meaning “Lucky stars of the Kingdom”. Sadelmelik is a very mature, yellow supergiant star located about 520 light-years away. It’s a bit cooler than our Sun, but about 60 times larger in diameter, making it much more luminous.
Ten degrees (a fist’s diameter) to the lower right of Sadalmelik, at the water-bearer’s elbow, sits another of the constellation’s brighter stars, Sadalsuud “the luckiest of all of them all”. This is another yellow giant very similar to Sadelmelik and about as distant. Finally, Aquarius’ western hand is marked by a fainter blue-white star named Albali “Good Fortune of the Swallower”, which sits a fist’s width to the lower right of Sadalsuud. The rest of the constellation, descending in two crooked lines from the lucky stars, is fairly dim. About halfway along them, both lines take a jog to the left (east).
Tumblr media
Aquarius contains only a few significant deep sky objects because it is situated away from the galactic plane, the Milky Way. The bright globular star cluster designated Messier 2, which can be spotted in binoculars or small telescopes, is only 4 finger widths above Sadalsuud. It’s 37,000 light-years away! A planetary nebula named the Saturn Nebula (and also designated Caldwell 55) is located below Albali. At 650 light-years away, it’s among the closest such objects to us. Another planetary nebula, the Helix Nebula (or Caldwell 63), is near the bottom of the constellation. These two stellar corpses are visible in decent backyard telescopes. A second, dimmer globular cluster named Messier 72 sits below and between Albali and the Saturn Nebula.
Fittingly, Neptune has been situated in Aquarius since 2011. At present, it sits just to the left (east) of the fairly bright star named Hydor. Neptune won’t leave Aquarius until about 2022! Meanwhile, Mars is presently sitting near the western boundary of Aquarius. It will steadily travel eastward through the constellation until late December.
Keep looking up, and enjoy the sky when you do! I love questions and requests - so, send me some!
