Nemea

Nemea was a religious sanctuary in the northern Peloponnese of Greece where pan-Hellenic athletic games were held every two years from 573 BCE until 271 BCE, after which, the Games were definitively moved to Argos.

Some doodles I did while waiting at the ER room in the hospital yesterday. Just messy sketches, but I might finish some of these, either trad or digital~

They're all some of my least drawn OCs, felt like giving them some love. In the first one, left is Kyouko, my Jujutsu Kaisen Oc, and on the right it's Chiyuki, my Enstars OC. On the second one, left is Nemea and right is Lily, Twisted Wonderland OCs. They're Szi's little twin sisters.

Edit: just realized I forgot Lily's glasses, oops haha Well, she wasn't wearing them at the time for some reason(???) It's fine hahah

During a very cold windy Sunday, we went to explore Nemea, whose name might be familiar because of the lion and Hercules and so.

But Dim told me the story of this archaeological site and it was very interesting. There was this american guy, Stephen Miller, that back in the 70s asked to the greek government permission to excavate in Nemea, because he knew what he was going to find: The stadium, the Zeus temple, and some more. And he did! All with his money and donors money, Greece didn't have to pay for any of these. The guy spent decades in there, unearthing, restoring and finally opening both the site and the museum. He even managed to bring back the Nemean games (similar to the ancient olympic games) and now they're celebrated every 4 years, anyone can attend!

So, bless Mr. Miller, because this site was amazing and actually this was one of the few places where they actually let you step into the ruins and the temple itself :)

My Witchlight party just squared off against the remaining two hags in the depths of one's castle lair, and Nemea spent the first two rounds clinging to the underside of a balcony like some kind of cosmic murder cat-moth

Tariesh also has issues with Nemea. Part of him blames her for the Larion incident. She does hold her hand up and say it was one of her Larions that she was trying to tame but it got loose and one thing lead to another and it was just a horrible accident with many things building up to it.

Nemea also tried to reintroduce Tariesh to Larions via exposure therapy but Tariesh just was not having any of it he was straight terrified of them and still is.

Pancracio

El pancracio es un antiguo arte marcial que mezcla la lucha libre y el boxeo. El origen de este deporte se remonta al segundo milenio antes de Cristo, en el territorio de la antigua Grecia. Su nombre deriva de las antiguas palabras griegas pan (todo) y kratos (fuerza, poder, potencia) y literalmente significa "todas las fuerzas". En el 648 a. C., el pancracio se introdujo como evento deportivo en los 33º Juegos Olímpicos de la Antigüedad, donde se unió al boxeo y a la lucha libre en una categoría llamada "eventos pesados".
