Well... in a universe not yet designated as S-20-A-22, Leo lands in a world where everyone is functionally a mutant. As he is perceived naked by this universes' populace, a certain not-quite-samurai rabbit decides to help him out.

They end up helping each other out quite a bit...

Design Process and Sketch Below:

Leo's outfit is most inspired by Lou Jitsu (the original not his dad's new suit) and Karai with a little sprinkle of Kraangpocolypse Leo.

Other stylistic inspirations were Usagi Chronicles (where the bands on the gloves and ankles come from) and the parkour video game Mirror's Edge (why there's a more sporty/ athletic wear look and no sleeves).

The seven triangles coming off of the Hamato Clan symbol represent the seven members of his clan- his brothers, April, the Caseys, and Splinter.

Honestly, I have a hard time thinking of what to focus on with this story since I finally figured out where everyone landed. They all have their own stories that we may or may not see and the amount of stuff is driving me insane with indecision.

Now y'all get to decide what you want to learn about these characters. Be the omniscient gods outside of time and space.

Hello! [gives] Have a silly lil take on Yuichi!

Design Notes Below:

First things first on my design notes, his build is different. I like the idea that, while Miyamoto takes more inspiration from hares, Yuichi would be more like your standard pet rabbit/ bunny. He's shorter due to this and stockier from both fluff and growing up on a farm. I also gave them both digitigrade legs.

I also wanted to make him speckled as his aunt is a caramel brown. He is now white with caramel speckling (that looks a bit like freckles) rather than pure white like his legendary ancestor. His eye marking serves the same function as his ancestor's scar and the turtles' masks in sudo eyebrowness. He has red eyes as opposed to Miyamoto's pink.

I wanted it to feel modern and sporty while keeping the silhouette of his original outfit. Where the medium grey is a teal/ blue, the darker grey would be a darker, almost black shade of the same color. His outfit will change as the story goes on, but the color scheme will be consistent.

Time Period:

The thousand year age gap between them hasn't made sense in my brain with how prominent he is in Yuichi's identity as a person and goals in life. I decided to shorten the gap by making it 400 years. Long enough for him to still be a person remembered by time and setting the story in the 21st century (although very different from 21st century Earth due to magic and stuff). Miyamoto is Yuichi's 9x great grandfather.

Mystic Power:

Yuichi already has the yoyo, but I like the idea that Willow Branch gives the wielder the ability to run on air as a reference to the mythology behind Grasscutter (either that or maybe he just finds Grasscutter instead??).
