1- Art Exhibition:

The opening of a new museum of fine arts in Syria.

A new museum of fine arts has been opened in Damer, Syria in Monday. As part of the efforts sponsored by the General Secretariat of the celebration of Damascus, the capital of Arab culture for 2008, with the support of Asma Al-Assad, the wife of the past Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

The aims of this museum is to shed light on the fine art works created by Syrian artists during the second half of the 20th century. 

The museum displays the paintings of more than 20 Syrian artists, who have enriched the Syrian culture with their distinguished works.

"He added to the National and Arab Library books and catalogs that document this Arab and Syrian human production in books and add it to the Syrian Arab Library," said the Syrian fine art artist, Nazir Nabaa. Interest in Syria has growing in the work of pioneering artists.

The contemporary Syrian fine art works have also attracted the attention of the masses, encouraging them to interact between the artist and the audience.

The Syrian artist Laila Naseer said, "Our meeting with each other, our meeting with the audience, and the honor of the artist who express, gave a presentation and presents his works so that he is in a meeting with his audience."

The exhibition of fine art continued at the Damar Museum, Syria until the end of July in 2008.

Nabaa references the highly decorated interiors of old Damascene homes whilst simultaneously paying homage to the passage of time. Heavily adorned in beautiful Levantine elements. their beautifully intricate dresses also incorporate arabesque embroidery that merges and interlinks with the arabesque of the background…
