Atlanta Wedding Photographers capture the Big Day at Atlanta's best Wedding Venues and Landmarks
I have talked to a lot of Atlanta wedding photographers. We chat about all the beautiful venues in our city and how we love the diverse choices brides and grooms have. Since my background is in historic preservation I tend to like historic venues. The most popular historic church in Atlanta is Christ the King and to me the best historic home is Naylor Hall. This week’s couple Katherine and Forest are people after my own heart. They chose both of those venues.
Katherine and Forest were recommended to me by Abbey from Naylor Hall. I have shot numerous weddings at Naylor Hall and everytime is so much fun. I feel like I find a new photo location each time I am there. As the light changes at Naylor Hall it reveals new ways to present itself and shine like the beauty it is.
Katherine and Forest’s wedding day started at Christ the King, the ceremony location. Katherine got there first with her mom and sister. They got dressed in the newly renovated bridal room. It is a large room located on the second floor at the street level entrance. Inside the room there is everything a bride would need. This includes several large full length mirrors, a few makeup stations with mirrors for the bridesmaids, two large couches, chairs and plenty of outlets for whatever the brides team may need. There is even a large chandelier in the middle of the room for a touch of grandeur.
The guys arrived a little later and came dressed. They put on their boutonnieres in the conference room down the hall from the ladies. The groom’s dad had picked the flowers for the boutonnieres from a flower farm near their mountain cabin in North Carolina. They were a nice heartfelt touch from the dad for the guys.
While the ladies were still getting ready I took the guys outside to the garden area to the east of the church. Where there is a quiet little sanctuary for guests. It has a brick patio, benches and many beautiful flowers for a perfect photo backdrop. The guys were awesome and we knocked their photos out quickly. Once done I tucked them away so they would not see the bride.
Once they were safely away I brought out Katherine. Her mom and sister were doting on her as she was getting ready to leave the bridal room. Her hair and dress were perfect and complemented the bride. We went outside to the garden again and took some photos with the bride and her family. We only had a few minutes so we went back inside and got ready for the wedding. While everyone was lining up for the wedding I snuck off with the bride and her sister and took a few more photos in the large hall next to the sanctuary. It is a grand room with large stained glass, marble columns and an arched ceiling. Once we were finished there it was show time!
The guests were escorted to the front of the church where they filled up the pews. Once they were seated the family entered and filled in the front two pews. The priest and the two accolades came in after the guests were seated and then the parents and close family members came after. While they trickled in Katherine and her dad were nervously chatting and getting ready for their entrance. Once the groom was in place the music changed, the guests rose to their feet and turned to see the beautiful bride escorted by her father to the altar. The ceremony was rather quick since they did not have a full mass. The priest shared some very thoughtful advice for life and marriage. After a few more words and a brief blessing they were pronounced husband and wife. They then had their first married kiss in front of god and guests.
I wanted to say a few things about Christ the King. It is not only a beautiful church and Atlanta landmark but the staff are consummate professionals. I have shot at Christ the King several times and this particular wedding coordinator was outstanding! She ran everything so smoothly with precision and ease.
Once we were through at the church we went to Naylor Hall. We were greeted by one of my favorite people in the world, Abbey. She made sure everyone was taken care of and that Naylor Hall was the perfect setting for a welcoming reception for the bride and groom’s guests.
Once the guests started to arrive Katherine and Forrest were tucked away so no one would see them. The guests went to the side of the front porch at Naylor where they enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. After about a few minutes or so the DJ announced the bridal party. The groomsmen and bridesmaids came on to the porch then went down the steps. Once that was done the bride and groom were announced and they shared their first dance on the porch in front of their guests. You could feel the love in the air. They finished the dance and walked down the steps and enjoyed their guests in the front yard. The weather was perfect. The couple caught up with everyone then the party went inside for dinner.
Before the dinner was served though there was the father daughter dance and the son and mother dance. Everyone applauded the families then enjoyed a wonderful dinner and band. The band kept the crowd going until the exit where the remaining guest cheered on the couple and their new adventure as husband and wife.

The History of Hailey’s On It
Ever watched the show Hailey’s On It? It’s on Disney Channel, it’s created by Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton, and it’s about a teenage girl with a robot sidekick, and her best friend time traveling and solving all the world’s problems. But before this, there was an original concept. Here we go!
The original concept of a girl and her robot sidekick was Nickelodeon’s recently mothballed The Modifyers created by Lynne Naylor and Chris Reccardi. It was going to be a show about Agent Xero (voiced by Mae Whitman, the voice of Tinker Bell) with her sidekick, Mole, fighting crime against the evil Baron Veign. Nickelodeon saw this and didn’t want it on their network due to female-led shows failing. There was a large fanbase knowing when the series would be greenlit. However, in 2019, Chris Reccardi died of a sudden heart attack while windsurfing, making the outcome more uncertain.
In 2020, Universal’s subsidiary, DreamWorks Animation Television hired Lynne Naylor to team up with Sunil Hall and created The Mighty Ones in 2020, which was critically ravaged and lasted for four seasons, killing Lynne Naylor’s career.
In the wake of Lynne Naylor losing her career, Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton used the concept of a teenage girl and her robot sidekick and created Hailey’s On It, the show began in 2023 and stars Hailey Banks (voiced by Aulili Cravo, the voice for Moana) with her robot sidekick, Beta, her friend, Scott Denoga time traveling, and solving the world problems. The show has 30 episodes, and hopefully, will get 3 more seasons, and hopefully it will be all good, and won’t have seasons 3 and 4 be bad just like Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but is should be great.

Leylandii – A Botanical Freak
#Leylandii were the result of a freak #botanical accident
Leylandii an evergreen coniferous tree of very fast rapid growth There are almost as many of them in the UK as people, around 55 million at the last count and that was in 2011. For many they are the least loved of our common or garden trees, utilitarian, consigned to fill awkward or unsightly spaces. Evergreen and offering vigorous growth of around a metre a year, Britain’s tallest, at Bedgebury…

S2E3: For He Is a Liar and the Father of Lies
Local Wrestling Promoter Rumored Behind Gambling, Extortion Rackets
Glendon Marsh Charged with Conspiracy and Extortion By G. NAYLOR
MEMPHIS, Tenn. June 20 A Federal grand jury indicted Memphis community figure and wrestling promoter Glendon Marsh with five counts of conspiracy and extortion. Police think Marsh is a key figure in the Memphis underground, but have had only unreliable jailhouse informants as circumstantial evidence. The District Attorney may now have Marsh in a full-nelson and ready to tap out and rat on a wider syndicate that the FBI thinks may be connected to a nation wide money laundering scheme. But the court can only hold him so long with out concrete evidence. Marsh’s bail is set to $40,000. Which he can easily post by next week.
Indicted with Marsh were many of the wrestlers he employs at the American Legion Hall. Police also think Marsh’s young son may be deeply involved with his father’s business, possibly using his young age to hide certain activities from law enforcement and tax officials. Marsh is a known union buster and was quite outspoken about [indecent] sanitation strikes that … shut down Memphis.
Conspiracy Charges
The indictment charges that the defendants conspired to obstruct [or delay] local gambling laws that used numbers betting loop holes to avoid restriction applied to casinos. He’s also known in the pro-wrestling circuit as a cut-throat manager with an eye for talented “heel” characters. His Memphis League run by Glendon Marsh Promotions is known across the region as the best spot to see bad guys in the ring. One former employee, who wants to remain nameless, gave us a [sic] inside scoop on what goes on behind the scenes in the wrestling world.
“He just knows how to pick ‘em and he has a talent for knowing the crowd and how riling them up enough to get them coming back.”
3 Companies Also Named in Gambling Racketeering Case
The indictment charges that the defendants conspired to obstruct members receiving ballots and $ counts under a Federal Indictment accusing him of falsification of union records and fabricating employees and supervisors all together. [A] retired union leader said that he was once kidnapped by Marsh to change one of his votes and subsequently retire. He commented.
“He dropped me off at the court house. I took it as a message and that message said, ‘I dare you.’ I kept my mouth shut for years.”
Marsh was never tried on the charge and the Federal Indictment for kidnapping and falsification was never pushed. There were suggestions that Marsh had been protected by someone at the governor’s office. No one knows.
Many are asking what will happen to the Federal witnesses if Marsh posts bond. The District Attorney as [sic] said that they have their witnesses under lock and key and there’s “No way Marsh can get to them before the grand jury hears testimony.”
Many are asking what will happen to the rising Memphis pro-wrestling scene that Marsh is entirely responsible for overturning and creating. Some may think the sport will rise to the national stage in the near future.

George Dixon (July 29, 1870 – January 6, 1908) was a Canadian professional boxer. After winning the Bantamweight title in 1892, he became the first-ever athlete of African Descent to win a World Championship in any sport; he was the first Canadian-born boxing champion. Ring Magazine founder Nat Fleischer ranked him as the #1 Featherweight of all time. He was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1955, the Ring Magazine Hall of Fame in 1956, and the International Boxing Hall of Fame as a first-class inductee in 1990. In 2018 He was named one of the greatest 15 athletes in Nova Scotia’s history.
He was born in Africville, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Known as “Little Chocolate” he stood 5 feet 3.5 inches tall and weighed only 87 pounds (39 kg) when he began his professional boxing career. He is credited for developing shadowboxing.
He claimed the world bantamweight title on May 10, 1888, after a bout with Tommy Spider Kelly, and was officially considered the champion after knocking out Nunc Wallace of England in 18 rounds two years later on June 27, 1890.
On May 31, 1891, he retained his bantamweight crown by beating Cal McCarthy in 22 rounds and then moved up to the featherweight division where he won the World title by beating England’s Fred Johnson on June 27, 1892. He established a vaudeville troupe he called the “George Dixon Specialty Co.” which toured Canada and the US; it appeared at the Naylor Opera House in Terre Haute, Indiana, on November 8, 1894.
On October 4, 1897, he lost the featherweight title by decision in a rematch bout with Solly Smith, who he had defeated by seventh-round technical knockout. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

"REFUGEES CAME FROM HILLS," Kingston Daily Standard. August 19, 1912. Page 1. ---- Their Privations Said to be Terrible. ---- B.C. Strike Zone Now Comparatively Quiet, With 1,200 Armed Men About. ---- Vancouver, B.C., Aug. 19. - With no further rioting and with more than 1,200 armed men comfortably distributed among the coal mining towns of the Vancouver Island strike zone, the residents have a chance for quiet nerves. The chief excitement centred in the bringing in of 25 refugees from the hills, where they had been driven last Wednesday by the rioters. Fourteen were women and children and the privations they had suffered were terrible. They had almost nothing to eat and their hands, faces and clothing were cut by their travels in the woods. They were first given the freedom of a Nanaimo restaurant, and were then looked over by a doctor to see they had no permanent injuries.
J. J. Taylor, vice-president of the Miners' Union and a prominent official of the B.C. Federation of Labor, is in jail along with John Naylor, president of the Cumberland Union. The miners are very indignant about these arrests on charges of inciting to riot. These arrests were the signal for general move on the part of union. Leaders in all the coast cities to call mass meetings to commence a public agitation for the withdrawal of the militia. Unusual measures are being taken to undermine the military end of the campaign and a call is being sent to all labor organizations to take steps to expel from the unions all militia men who have taken the field.
Vancouver Street Railwaymen's Union has already demanded that any of its members who now belong to the militia shall resign from the regiment. The strikers called a meeting in Nanaimo Saturday, but Col. Hall, who is in charge, called it off. On Sunday a mass meeting was held in the hall at Extension, but nothing was done except kick against the Government.
In addition to one hundred warrants sworn out Saturday against riot leaders in Nanaimo, another 85 were issued Sunday against residents of Ladysmith. In Ladysmith almost every non-union man has left town following personal hints passed out by the Miners' Committee. Included among those who were ordered get out were Patrick Malone, to ex- Mayor of Ladysmith and Councillor Lauderback.
Nanaimo residents declare that hundreds of men have been shipped in by I. W. W. leaders in Vancouver since the strike started and it is these strangers and not the real Nanaimo miners who have been heading the disturbances.

MLB Draft 2023: Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews Could Be Taken 1-2
The top pick in this year’s Major League Baseball draft will probably come from Louisiana State’s College World Series-winning team. The only question seems to be which player will head to the Pittsburgh Pirates at No. 1, and which will go to the Washington Nationals at No. 2.Outfielder Dylan Crews, who won the Golden Spikes award thanks to his incredible blend of patience and power, was the first choice in FanGraphs’ mock draft, while Paul Skenes, a right-handed starting pitcher who averaged 15.3 strikeouts per nine innings and had a 1.69 E.R.A. last season, was first off the board in Keith Law’s mock draft for The Athletic.M.L.B.’s draft is far less predictable than drafts in other sports, so things could certainly change, but Crews and Skenes, both of whom are 21, have the opportunity to be the first teammates to be taken with the top two picks. Doing so would be especially impressive since this year’s draft is loaded with high-end college talent.L.S.U. might not stop there, as the right-hander Ty Floyd could be a first-round pick as well. The draft, which has been shortened to 20 rounds, is set to start at 7 p.m. Eastern on Sunday as part of M.L.B.’s All-Star weekend. Beyond Crews and Skenes, there are a few key names to know going into the event.A non-L.S.U. college player to watch.Wyatt Langford, OF, Florida — Langford, 21, has the talent and the production to be a No. 1 overall pick in most years, and is the best bet to upset the dream of L.S.U. capturing the top two spots. He had a .364 batting average and 47 home runs over his last two college seasons and while accounts of his speed seem to vary, he may be far faster than his 16 stolen bases in college suggest.A high school player to watch.Walker Jenkins, OF, Southport, N.C. — An elite runner early in his high school career, Jenkins, 18, has already begun the process of bulking up to enhance his powerful 6-foot-3 frame, which could lead to him playing right field, rather than center, and being more of a slugger rather than an all-around star. If that process turns him into a 40-homer hitter, no one will mind.Jacob Wilson, SS, Grand Canyon — Every draft has its share of familial connections — last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Jackson Holliday, is the son of the former major leaguer Matt Holliday — and the best of the bunch this year is Wilson, the son of Jack Wilson, an All-Star shortstop for the Pirates in 2004. The younger Wilson could be a top-10 pick, which would easily trump his father, who was a ninth-rounder in 1998. Other notable players in this category include Myles Naylor, a high school third baseman whose brothers Josh and Bo play for the Guardians; Homer Bush Jr., a college outfielder whose father, Homer Sr., played for the Yankees and the Blue Jays; and Braden Halladay, a high school pitcher whose father, Roy, was a Hall of Fame starting pitcher. That’s not famous. This is famous.Jaden Agassi, Pitcher, U.S.C. — He won’t be selected on the first day of the draft, and there’s a decent chance he doesn’t get picked at all in the 20-round era, but there is no draft-eligible player — and few people in athletics in general — who can claim to have more famous parents than Agassi, whose mother is Steffi Graf, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, and whose father is Andre Agassi, who won eight Grand Slams. But maybe the Athletics, who hope to move to Las Vegas in a few years, would take a flier on the child of one of the city’s most accomplished families. Source link Read the full article

Naylor Hall Roswell Georgia is a Wedding Photographer's Dream
This is the time of year when I am looking forward to this year's weddings and visiting some of my favorite venues. If you have been following our blog you will see that one of our favorite venues is Naylor Hall.
Naylor Hall is a historic mansion located in the Historic District of the city of Roswell, Georgia. It was built in the 1840’s by Barrington King, the owner of the Roswell Mill, for his bookkeeper H.W. Proudfoot and his wife Euphemia. In the 1930’s Colonel Harrison Broad purchased the property and named it Naylor Hall in honor of his wife’s family. He was the one who added a lot of the interior woodwork, the portico, and the large columns in front of the entrance. With the large front yard and horseshoe drive it is one of the jewels of the historic district.
While Naylor Hall is a beautiful venue the best part of Naylor is the staff. Everytime I shoot a wedding at Naylor it is like going home. Let’s start with their fearless leader and owner of Naylor Sunny Bailey. Sunny is the one with the vision and the love in 2009. She treated Naylor with some TLC and turned it into the gem it is today. She has seen many weddings and still gets excited for the bride. Sunny is the most supportive friend on your wedding day and knows how to think on her feet.
Sunny’s right hand person is Abbey. I can not say enough nice things about Abbey. She is the calm breeze in the middle of the chaos that can sometimes happen in the wedding. She is the one you want in your corner on your wedding day. She is a great communicator and resourceful wedding planner. I feel honored to work with such pros!
If you are looking for a wonderful wedding venue then do yourself a favor and check out Naylor Hall. Take a tour of the venue and get to know the Naylor Hall team. When you do you will see why I have a deep appreciation for Naylor.
Thanks for checking out this Atlanta wedding photographers blog! I hope you enjoyed the read and that you found it helpful! Make sure you keep coming back to our blog to see what the Atlanta wedding photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings get up to! If you’d like to contact me go to the contact page and drop me a line at https://www.atlantaartisticweddings.com/contact-atlanta-wedding-photographer. I would love to hear from you!

Live Picks: 11/28
Moses Sumney; Photo by Lauren Naylor
BY JORDAN MAINZER
A free show, welcome returns, and a newfound holiday tradition.
Kelela & Moses Sumney, Lincoln Hall
Kelela & Moses Sumney play a free show tonight at Lincoln Hall. We previewed both in our Pitchfork Music Festival pre-coverage (and their latest full-length albums made our top albums of 2017, at #s 31 and 22, respectively):
“After breaking out with her 2013 mixtape Cut 4 Me, Kelela finally released the brilliant, fully formed statement we’ve all waited for from her. Take Me Apart is an album about ending one relationship and going into another–territory that’s not original for an album but important because it’s immensely personal, celebratory of queer black self-love on songs like 'LMK' and 'Altadena'. She somehow makes dubstep and trap beats sound subdued and sexy, her ethereal voice the perfect complement to bubbling synth and bass.”
“Moses Sumney is a once-in-a-lifetime singer. Not because he can shatter glasses or anything–though he probably could–but because he can take abstract concepts like capitalism and the hetero-normative nature of romantic love and make you feel like you’ve experienced them on a concrete level even if you haven’t, all through the sheer beauty of his voice and strumming of his guitar. The potential for quietest, most heartbreaking moment of the festival will come when he sings 'Doomed' off of last year’s Aromanticism: 'Am I vital / If my heart is idle? / Am I doomed?'”
Since then, they’ve both remained active. Kelela has released a remix album for Take Me Apart and may perform the remixed versions of her songs tonight. And Sumney’s released not one but two EPs: Make Out in My Car: Chameleon Suite and Black in Deep Red, 2014, the latter of which contains stunning protest song “Rank & File”.
Wild Pink, Empty Bottle
New York heartland rockers Wild Pink have added a keyboard to their live show to complement their newly expansive sound on latest record Yolk in the Fur. They played the Bottle last month around the time we interviewed them about the new record, and they’re coming back to Chicago in January, so if you don’t see them tonight, you’ll have another chance very soon.
Portland duo The Helio Sequence headline. Chicago shoegaze band Lightfoils also opens.
Tech N9ne, House of Blues
We previewed Tech N9ne’s House of Blues show back in June:
“Divisive and lyrically dexterous Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne comes around pretty often, but like Los Lobos, that’s reason for me to always say 'I’ll catch them next time.' Eventually, you just need to bite the bullet. Albums like All 6′s and 7′s and Something Else cemented him as an ambitious rapper who can succeed when working with big concepts and other mega rappers, while recent albums like Planet and Special Effects have showed he can be a hit-maker. He’s got 20 albums to his name and a ton of other EPs. Not everything he produces is quality, but he’s pretty prolific.”
Since then, he’s released the N9NA Collection 1 mixtape, a preview of his new record out next year.
Rappers Dizzy Wright and Futuristic open.
Team Coco Presents Conan & Friends, Chicago Theatre
Late night comedian Conan O’Brien on his current tour Conan & Friends: An Evening of Stand-Up and Investment Tips. He’s been joined by different comedians each night. Tonight’s show features Ron Funches, Taylor Tomlinson, James Veitch, and Flula Borg.
A John Waters Christmas, Thalia Hall
What is there more to say? John Waters brings his Christmas special show on tour every year (it started in 1996!), and I’d be remiss not to include it.

The Rise Of The Leylandii
How #leylandii conquered the country 'gardenhistory
Leylandii an evergreen coniferous tree of very fast rapid growth In 1911 at Leighton Hall, Christopher’s nephew, Captain Naylor, after picking up a cone from a Monterey cypress growing fifty yards from a Nootka, noticed that two of the resultant seedlings were markedly different from the rest. The difference from the 1888 seedlings was that the Monterey was the female parent. The seedlings were…

The Mighty Ones Season 4 Trailer
DreamWorks Animation’s The Mighty Ones are back, and in Season 4, they must face and conquer uncharted backyard territory in 10 all-new animated episodes arriving on Peacock and Hulu on December 9. The 2D animated series is created and executive produced by Sunil Hall (Gravity Falls) and Lynne Naylor (Samurai Jack) with a creative team that hails from iconic series such as The Ren & Stimpy Show, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Powerpuff Girls. In every backyard, a secret world exists filled with tiny creatures. The Mighty Ones follows the hilarious adventures of the smallest of them: a twig, a pebble, a leaf, and a strawberry who call themselves “the Mighty Ones.” These best friends live in an unkempt backyard belonging to a trio of equally unkempt humans who they mistake for gods. Despite their diminutive stature, the Mighty Ones are determined to live largely and have fun in their wild world. In the new season, our Mighty heroes once again find themselves in uncharted territory as they continue to discover unexplored areas of the yard. Twig must fight for his life in a Gladiator Pit after being accidentally discarded into a compost bin. Then, the group embarks on an epic quest to find something called a cup. Leaf struggles to find a decent pair of pants. And when they decide to launch themselves into outer space, they become stuck in the heavens. DreamWorks Animation’s The Mighty Ones Season 4 arriving on Peacock and Hulu on December 9.
