Zubin Mehta is back in Mumbai to perform for the first time with the Symphony Orchestra of India
After arriving in Mumbai earlier this week, celebrated conductor Zubin Mehta has spent a good amount of time on stage. He has been rehearsing with the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), with whom he is performing for the first time. “I am quite impressed with the musicians I have interacted with,” he says. Zubin will conduct two shows at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre on August 19 and 21. The line up…

‘I’m bursting with ideas’: Michael Sheen launches new national theatre for Wales
Michael Sheen, a global star of screen and stage, is spearheading a new national theatre for Wales, promising to create big, bold plays that bring vital stories about his homeland to life.
Sheen said he was bursting with ideas and promised to appear in the newly forged Welsh National Theatre’s first production, a “foundation” story about Wales staged at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
The actor, who has been announced as artistic director of the theatre company, told the Guardian that Wales’s stories were “under-explored in the English language”.
Sheen said: “Could you tell me the name of the great play about Aberfan or the Merthyr Rising or the Rebecca riots? Where is our Welsh canon of great plays? We can’t do Under Milk Wood for the rest of eternity. I’m bursting with ideas people are bursting with work that they want to do with us and that’s what’s really exciting about it.”
Just before Christmas, National Theatre Wales, which was established in 2009, announced it had “ceased to exist” after its Arts Council of Wales funding was cut. It has evolved into Team (theatre, education, arts, music), focusing on grassroots work.
Sheen said his new company did not yet have funding. “But that suits my way of thinking. I like the idea of starting small, simple, lean and building it up, working with what you’ve got. Don’t pay for swanky offices if you don’t need them, build it slowly with care and with passion and with vision and with ambition.
“We aim to represent the Welsh people so I would hope that public bodies would be prepared to work with us. I think probably history tells us that relying too much on any one source of funding makes you a bit vulnerable so I first and foremost would hope that this company can stand on its own two feet but we are open to working with whoever wants to get involved.”
Sheen said he was thinking big.
He said: “My instinct has always been, rightly or wrongly, that when people around you are saying: ‘No, you can’t have that, you can’t do that,’ to go even bigger and bolder and go, no we’re not going to do that, we’re going to do 10 times that.”
Sheen said he was not in a position to reveal details of performances but said the plan was to do one production a year. “The plan to begin with is do big plays really well for big audiences. I’m starting to commission writers.”
Sheen said he was also speaking with organisations such as Welsh National Opera and the Welsh language company Theatr Cymru about working together.
He said: “I’m talking about big bold ambitious world stage productions of plays about who we are, where we’ve come from, how we got to where we are and where are we going.
“The first production will be on the Millennium Centre stage. It will be a new Welsh play, it will star Welsh actors including myself, and it will be one of the foundation stories of who we are as a nation.” Sheen said the first production should be staged next year.
He was working on Nye, the hugely successful play on the life of the Welsh politician and NHS architect Aneurin Bevan, at the National Theatre in London last year when it became clear that National Theatre Wales was in deep trouble.
The company was close to Sheen’s heart as he starred in and co-directed its most celebrated work, The Passion, a modern re-telling of the crucifixion featuring hundreds of local people. “That was a life-changing experience for me,” he said.
Sheen spoke to fellow Welsh actors about what should come next. “I realised I was probably the leading candidate for what could happen now. My feeling was very strongly that it should be a completely new company. It should be a fresh start, a new charity, a new board of governors. I didn’t want to take something over I wanted to start afresh.”
When Nye transferred to the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, the experience reinforced Sheen’s determination to launch a new national theatre for Wales.
Sheen said: “You know that phrase: ‘Build it and they will come.’ It was rammed every performance – they were bringing chairs from the bar to get more people in. The appetite for it was extraordinary and it was hugely moving to perform that to a Welsh audience. People were seeing a play about them and their lives and their history and their story. That was revelatory to me.”

In cryptography, a cipher (or cypher) is an algorithm for performing encryption or decryption—a series of well-defined steps that can be followed as a procedure. An alternative, less common term is encipherment. To encipher or encode is to convert information into cipher or code. In common parlance, "cipher" is synonymous with "code", as they are both a set of steps that encrypt a message; however, the concepts are distinct in cryptography, especially classical cryptography. The Pan-Nigerian alphabet is a set of 33 Latin letters standardised by the National Language Centre of Nigeria in the 1980s. It is intended to be sufficient to write all the languages of Nigeria without using digraphs.[1] History Several hundred different languages are spoken in Nigeria. The different Latin alphabets made it impractical to create Nigerian typewriters. In the 1980s the National Language Centre (NLC) undertook to develop a single alphabet suitable for writing all the languages of the country, and replacing use of Arabic script, taking as its starting point a model proposed by linguist Kay Williamson in 1981.[citation needed] A typeface was developed in 1985–1986 by Edward Oguejofor and Victor Manfredi, in co-operation with the NLC, with technical assistance from Hermann Zapf.

ANCHOR VESSEL INVOCATION
Invocation is the act of calling upon a deity, spirit, or supernatural force, typically through prayer, ritual, or spoken formula, to seek guidance, assistance, or presence.[1] It is a practice found in numerous religious, spiritual, and esoteric traditions, where it serves to establish a connection between the human and the divine or metaphysical realms. Invocation can be directed toward a singular deity, multiple deities, spirits, or abstract forces, and may involve formal liturgies, spontaneous prayers, chants, or symbolic actions. Unlike evocation, which is generally understood as calling a spirit to appear outside the practitioner, invocation often implies inviting the entity to be present within or to closely align with the practitioner. In ceremonial magic and theurgy, invocation is used to summon divine powers for guidance or to achieve specific spiritual outcomes. Additionally, modern spiritual movements, such as Wicca and modern Paganism, employ invocation to call upon deities, elemental forces, or spirits of nature. Beyond religious practice, invocation has also been explored in psychological frameworks; Carl Jung's concept of active imagination involves engaging with archetypal figures from the unconscious, a process that parallels the symbolic aspects of invocation. In ceremonial magic and grimoire traditions, invocation is often used to summon deities, angels, or spirits for specific purposes. Texts like the Key of Solomon and The Lesser Key of Solomon outline complex rituals for invoking spiritual entities, often accompanied by protective symbols, incantations, and ritual tools. These practices aim to establish control over the invoked entities to gain knowledge, power, or other desired outcomes. In indigenous and shamanistic traditions, invocation is used to summon spirits, ancestors, or natural forces. Shamans often invoke spirit guides, animal totems, or elemental forces during healing rituals, trance states, or vision quests. These invocations are believed to facilitate communication with the spirit world, allowing the shaman to receive guidance, perform healings, or influence natural phenomena.[20] In many indigenous cultures, invocation is also central to rituals that honor ancestors or seek harmony with the natural world.
In psychology, invocation can be understood as a process of engaging with internal archetypes, symbols, or aspects of the unconscious mind. While traditional invocation involves calling upon external deities or spiritual forces, psychological interpretations often view this practice as a means of accessing and integrating inner psychological elements. This perspective is particularly prominent in analytical psychology, founded by Carl Jung.
Jung introduced the concept of active imagination, a technique where individuals deliberately engage in dialogue with figures or symbols that emerge from the unconscious.[7] These figures often represent archetypes, such as the Shadow, Anima/Animus, or Wise Old Man, which are universal symbols found across cultures. In this process, the practitioner "invokes" these inner figures, not as literal beings, but as manifestations of deeper psychological truths. By interacting with these symbols, individuals can achieve greater self-awareness, confront repressed emotions, and facilitate personal growth—a process Jung called individuation.
Invocation in this context is also related to the concept of self-suggestion and affirmation, where individuals use specific language or rituals to influence their mental and emotional states. This can be seen in practices like visualization, mantra repetition, and affirmations, which aim to align the conscious mind with desired goals or emotional outcomes.
Moreover, invocation has been studied within the field of transpersonal psychology, which examines the spiritual aspects of human experience. Here, invocation is viewed as a way to transcend the ego and connect with a larger sense of self, the universe, or the divine, whether interpreted literally or symbolically.
In the form of demonic invocation, or possession, psychiatry refers to this technique as ‘a state (potentially psychological) in which an individual’s normal personality is replaced by another.’ When you are invoking a demon or a spirit, you no longer exist. You have given away your power entirely to another energy force. He was known for his experimentation with different deities. He often pushed magic far so as to test the limits of his own abilities while here on Earth.

HUMANOID BIOGRIMOIRE EAGLE WINGS
Grimoire (/ɡrɪmˈwɑːr/) (also known as a book of spells, magic book, or a spellbook)[citation needed] is a textbook of magic, typically including instructions on how to create magical objects like talismans and amulets, how to perform magical spells, charms, and divination, and how to summon or invoke supernatural entities such as angels, spirits, deities, and demons.[1] In many cases, the books themselves are believed to be imbued with magical powers. The only contents found in a grimoire would be information on spells, rituals, the preparation of magical tools, and lists of ingredients and their magical correspondences.[2][unreliable source?] In this manner, while all books on magic could be thought of as grimoires, not all magical books should be thought of as grimoires.[3]
Although this usage was common in the sciences for much of the 20th century, it is now considered rare.[1] More generally, the term can refer to anything with distinctly human characteristics or adaptations, such as possessing opposable anterior forelimb-appendages (i.e. thumbs), visible spectrum-binocular vision (i.e. having two eyes), or biomechanic plantigrade-bipedalism (i.e. the ability to walk on heels and metatarsals in an upright position). Humanoids may also include human-animal hybrids (where each cell has partly human and partly animal genetic contents) and human-animal chimeras (where some cells are human and some cells are animal in origin).
A shadow person (also known as a shadow figure or black mass) is the perception of shadow as a living species, humanoid figure, sometimes interpreted as the presence of a spirit or other entity by believers in the paranormal or supernatural.[1]
Shadow people are commonly reported by people under the effects of deliriant substances such as datura, diphenhydramine, and benzydamine.
A number of plant deliriants such as that of the Solanaceae family, particularly in the Americas, have been used by some indigenous cultures to reach delirious and altered states of consciousness for traditions or rituals, such as rites of passage, divination or communicating with the ancestors.
BIRTH NATAL CHART THROUGH OCCULT PLANETARY INTELLIGENCE (IFÁ BAPTIST)
Air sol Palm Fond Banishing Birth
In ceremonial magic, banishing refers to one or more rituals intended to remove non-physical influences ranging from spirits to negative influences.[1] Although banishing rituals are often used as components of more complex ceremonies, they can also be performed by themselves. Banishing can be viewed as one of several techniques of magic, closely related to ritual purification and a typical prerequisite for consecration and invocation.
The Ifa literary corpus, called odu, consists of 256 parts subdivided into verses called ese, whose exact number is unknown as they are constantly increasing (there are around 800 ese per odu). Each of the 256 odu has its specific divination signature, which is determined by the babalawo using sacred palm-nuts and a divination chain. The ese, considered the most important part of Ifa divination, are chanted by the priests in poetic language. The ese reflect Yoruba history, language, beliefs, cosmovision and contemporary social issues. The knowledge of Ifa has been preserved within Yoruba communities and transmitted among Ifa priests.
DIVINATION IFÁ BAPTIST
The great chain of being is a hierarchical structure of all matter and life, thought by medieval Christianity to have been decreed by God. The chain begins with God and descends through angels, humans, animals and plants to minerals.[1][2][3]
Humanity: Humans uniquely share spiritual attributes with God and the angels above them, Love and language, and physical attributes with the animals below them, like having material bodies that experienced emotions and sensations such as lust and pain, and physical needs such as hunger and thirst.[3]
The Planetary Intelligences are invoked in occultism to control the blind forces of the planetary spirit, specifically in the creation of astrological talismans.[4]
Necromancy (/ˈnɛkrəmænsi/)[1][2] is the practice of magic involving communication with the dead by summoning their spirits as apparitions or visions for the purpose of divination; imparting the means to foretell future events and discover hidden knowledge. Sometimes categorized under death magic, the term is occasionally also used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft as a whole.[3][4]
Goetia (goh-eh-TEE-ah[1]) is a type of European sorcery, often referred to as witchcraft, that has been transmitted through grimoires—books containing instructions for performing magical practices. The term "goetia" finds its origins in the Greek word "goes", which originally denoted diviners, magicians, healers, and seers.[2] Initially, it held a connotation of low magic, implying fraudulent or deceptive mageia as opposed to theurgy, which was regarded as divine magic. Grimoires, also known as "books of spells" or "spellbooks", serve as instructional manuals for various magical endeavors. They cover crafting magical objects, casting spells, performing divination, and summoning supernatural entities, such as angels, spirits, deities, and demons. Although the term "grimoire" originates from Europe, similar magical texts have been found in diverse cultures across the world.
The current Ọnwụ alphabet, a compromise between the older Lepsius alphabet and a newer alphabet advocated by the International Institute of African Languages and Cultures (IIALC), is presented in the following table, with the International Phonetic Alphabet equivalents for the characters:[26]
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is an alphabetic system of phonetic notation based primarily on the Latin script. It was devised by the International Phonetic Association in the late 19th century as a standard written representation for the sounds of speech.[1] The IPA is used by lexicographers, foreign language students and teachers, linguists, speech–language pathologists, singers, actors, constructed language creators, and translators.[2][3]
The Ethiopian calendar (Amharic: ዓውደ ወር; Ge'ez: ዓዉደ ወርሕ; Tigrinya: ዓዉደ ኣዋርሕ), or Ge'ez calendar (Ge'ez: ዓዉደ ወርሕ; Tigrinya: ዓዉደ ኣዋርሕ; Amharic: የኢትዮጲያ ዘመን ኣቆጣጠር) is the official state civil calendar of Ethiopia and serves as an unofficial customary cultural calendar in Eritrea, and among Ethiopians and Eritreans in the diaspora. It is also an ecclesiastical calendar for Ethiopian Christians and Eritrean Christians belonging to the Orthodox Tewahedo Churches (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church),
This line also reveals the hidden first sin of the angels. They wanted to be gods. They did not want to serve the one God. They did not want to obey. They rebelled. They wanted to be the masters of their own destiny rather than to humbly submit to the plan of God for their lives.
A nature religion is a religious movement that believes nature and the natural world is an embodiment of divinity, sacredness or spiritual power.[1] Nature religions include indigenous religions practiced in various parts of the world by cultures who consider the environment to be imbued with spirits and other sacred entities.

ROYAL HOUSE
On the Oyo leader, he conferred the title of 'Ogunsuwa' signifying one whom Ogun (the god of war) has blessed with fortune. That has become the Title of all rulers of Modakeke to this day. (The History of Yorubas, by Rev. Samuel Johnson (pg. 231). Before the 1959, Chieftaincy Declaration, Ogunsuwa of Modakeke was one of the recognized communities as one of the chiefs appointed to the then Western Region House of Chiefs. Ogunsuwa Awotobi was appointed in 1954. Hierarchically in lfeland, the Ogunsuwa of Modakeke was number three (No 3). ranking after Ooni of lfe and Apetumodu of lpetumodu (we refer to Circular No. C.63/12 dated 23 October. 1946, issued by the Divisional Office, lfe, Nigeria.
The Ntlo ya Dikgosi (Tswana for "House of Chiefs") in Botswana is an advisory body to the country's parliament.[1]
The house consists of 35 members.[2] Eight members are hereditary chiefs (kgosi) from Botswana's principal tribes (BaKgatla, BaKwêna, BaMalete, BamaNgwato, BaNgwaketse, BaRôlông, BaTawana, and BaTlôkwa).
In contrast to the House of Commons, membership of the Lords is not generally acquired by election. Most members are appointed for life, on either a political or non-political basis.[10][11] Hereditary membership was limited in 1999 to 92 excepted hereditary peers: 90 elected through internal by-elections, plus the Earl Marshal and Lord Great Chamberlain as members ex officio. No members directly inherit their seats any longer. The House of Lords also includes up to 26 archbishops and bishops of the Church of England, known as Lords Spiritual.[11][12] Since 2014, membership may be voluntarily relinquished or terminated upon expulsion.[11]
A kgosi (/ˈkoʊsi/; Tswana pronunciation: [ˈkχʊ.si]) is the title for a hereditary leader of a Batswana and South Africa peoples tribe.[1]
The word "kgosi" is a Setswana term for "king" or "chief". Various affixes can be added to the word to change its meaning: adding the prefix di- creates the plural form dikgosi; the feminine suffix -gadi makes the word kgosigadi; and the adjectival suffix -kgolo, meaning "large", creates kgosikgolo, the word for "supreme leader".
It is a title often given to aristocrats in Botswana and surrounding countries where there are Tswana speaking people. The office of tribal leadership is called the bogosi while the person who assumes the office is the kgosi.[2]
A House of Chiefs is not, constitutionally, a partisan institution within the body politic. Members of a House of Chiefs are selected neither by a universal suffrage process of those they represent nor by the state executive or legislature they advise: Their function is to express a cultural, historical and/or ethnic point of view on public policies. The process by which individuals qualify for membership varies, but is based on tradition specific to his or her (e.g. the Rain Queen) historic community or ethnic group. Sometimes the qualifying position is obtained through heredity within a local dynasty, sometimes through selection by consensus of a ritually or socially prominent subset of a community, and sometimes by a combination thereof.

POLITICAL CONNECTIONS
Classical liberalism is a political tradition and a branch of liberalism that advocates free market and laissez-faire economics and civil liberties under the rule of law, with special emphasis on individual autonomy, limited government, economic freedom, political freedom and freedom of speech. Classical liberalism, contrary to progressive branches like social liberalism, looks more negatively on social policies, taxation and the state involvement in the lives of individuals, and it advocates deregulation.
Clientelism or client politics is the exchange of goods and services for political support, often involving an implicit or explicit quid-pro-quo.[1][2][3] It is closely related to patronage politics and vote buying.[4]

(Piccadilly Circus as an Example) Lastly, maritime corruption may be categorized according to various fraud scenarios,[8] such as: under-invoicing, where the merchandise in question is declared of lower value than the actual sale price in the invoice, bribes paid to gain contracts, where large shipping and commercial vessel companies bid for long term contracts from large exporters, illicit payments to marine surveyors, so that the surveyor is paid illegally in order to give a better review of the inspected vessel, facilitation payments to customs officers, where bribes are paid to officers to ensure smooth customs procedures and to turn a blind eye to certain procedural requirements, and illegal purchase of letters of credit, where payment is promised for certain documents which validate that goods have been delivered as required.

HOMO-ECONOMICUS EXECUTIVE POLITICAL FUNCTIONING CNS DNA
The term Homo economicus, or economic man, is the portrayal of humans as agents who are consistently rational and narrowly self-interested, and who pursue their subjectively defined ends optimally. It is a wordplay on Homo sapiens, used in some economic theories and in pedagogy.[1]
In game theory, Homo economicus is often (but not necessarily) modelled through the assumption of perfect rationality. It assumes that agents always act in a way that maximize utility as a consumer and profit as a producer,[2] and are capable of arbitrarily complex deductions towards that end. They will always be capable of thinking through all possible outcomes and choosing that course of action which will result in the best possible result.

Theory
There's a common expression of higher the risk, higher the reward; but in finance it should be higher reward, higher risk because people's savings are involved. This is why I created The Round of Par Games Theory Network where the intended score should always be 0. Nobody wins and nobody loses between investor and stock exchange, just a nice friendly draw. The Investors assets under management grows and the Exchange's Market Volume Grows.
Let's Breakdown the Components:
Beta Arbitrage
Investor: Beta Arbitrage involves longing in one market and shorting in a DIFFERENT market. The example is longing Company A in the stock market but then going to Company A in the options market and placing a put/short option. Either way the Investor earns a profit.
Exchange: The Futures Exchange benefits because now not only is equity on the stock market is being bought but the options market has a larger volume.
Convertible Bond Compounding
Investor: By compounding through Convertible Bonds not only are you going to be paid back your money because creditors are first on the company's bankruptcy list unlike investors, but it's an easier way to buy more shares for growth investing while not diving head first.
Exchange: The Futures Exchange benefits because now not only is equity on the stock market is being bought but the bond market has a larger volume.
The term professional–managerial class (PMC) refers to a social class within capitalism that, by controlling production processes through occupying a superior management position, is neither proletarian nor bourgeoisie. Metropolitan elite is a term used to describe politically liberal people whose education has traditionally opened the doors to affluence, wealth and power and who form a managerial elite. The proletariat (/ˌproʊlɪˈtɛəriət/; from Latin proletarius 'producing offspring') is the social class of wage-earners, those members of a society whose possession of significant economic value is their labour power (their capacity to work).[1] A member of such a class is a proletarian or a proletaire. Marxist philosophy regards the proletariat under conditions of capitalism as an exploited class[2] forced to accept meager wages in return for operating the means of production, which belong to the class of business owners, the bourgeoisie.

Grand Prix (/ɡrɒ̃ˈpriː/ French: [ɡʁɑ̃ pʁi], meaning Grand Prize; plural Grands Prix), is a name rooted in competitions (such as sport events), alluding to the winner receiving a prize, trophy or honor.
A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two games or matches. It stands in contrast to a single-elimination tournament, in which only one defeat results in elimination.

Any distribution agreement must respect applicable laws in both operating countries; additional detail must be paid to any international regulations and national laws that could influence the rights and responsibilities of one or both parties.
It is important to express whether the rights of the agreement are exclusive or non-exclusive. This indicates whether the receiving party will have the sole rights to resell the manufacturer’s products.
Additional sections of an international distribution agreement should include:
Responsibilities of each party. There will be a section for each party outlining their core responsibilities as part of the agreement. These duties may include marketing the product in a specifically agreed-upon manner, providing financial forecasts at regular intervals, and placing orders according to the providing party’s standards.
Products. This section will specify which products the retailer has the right to sell. It also reserves the manufacturer’s rights to discontinue products at any time, or make changes to their inventory.
Pricing. The pricing section of a distribution agreement outlines how much the distributor may sell the manufacturer’s products for, how they must record payments, and how they must pay them (including timeframes, payment methods, and currencies).
Terms of termination. Both parties can protect their interests by negotiating fair terms and conditions for termination should they decide to end their professional relationship. Additionally, terms of termination can also reserve the manufacturer’s rights to revoke the distributor’s retail rights based on certain criteria.
Warranty. A distribution agreement warranty outlines how the product’s warranty will be maintained for customers who purchase it on the international market. The manufacturer can require the distributor to maintain their own warranty for products regardless of any individual policies they may have, so long as they do not violate any local or national laws.
Liability waiver/indemnity clause. The manufacturer can also include a waiver in their agreement to avoid being held liable for any damages or losses the distributor incurs while selling their products. For example, liability does not extend to cover any injuries customers or employees of the distributor incur as the result of defective products.
Territory. The contract can further specify which geographic areas the distributor is authorized to sell in and prohibit them from retailing any of the manufacturer's products beyond these regions.
Minimum quantities ordered/sold – Sales Goals: this clause can force the distributor to sell a minimum yearly quantity. It can be part of an Annex to the document that is signed and updated each year if you need to adapt sales goals (if the local laws admit it).
Terms and conditions for sales and returns: This section sets out the terms and conditions that apply to the sales and returns of the products.
Dispute resolution mechanisms: Certain distribution agreements may comprise procedures to resolve any disputes or conflicts that may arise from the agreement, such as the provisions for negotiation, mediation, or arbitration, choice of law or jurisdiction, etc.

AFRICAÍ MASCULINITY PSYCHOLOGY
In gender studies, hegemonic masculinity is part of R. W. Connell's gender order theory, which recognizes multiple masculinities that vary across time, society, culture, and the individual.[1][2][3] Hegemonic masculinity is defined as a practice that legitimizes men's dominant position in society and justifies the subordination of the common male population and women, and other marginalized ways of being a man.[1][4] Conceptually, hegemonic masculinity proposes to explain how and why men maintain dominant social roles over women, and other gender identities, which are perceived as "feminine" in a given society.[1]
The conceptual beginnings of hegemonic masculinity represented the culturally idealized form of manhood that was socially and hierarchically exclusive and concerned with bread-winning; that was anxiety-provoking and differentiated (internally and hierarchically); that was brutal and violent, pseudo-natural and tough, psychologically contradictory, and thus crisis-prone; economically rich and socially sustained.[5] However, many sociologists criticized that definition of hegemonic masculinity as a fixed character-type, which is analytically limited, because it excludes the complexity of different, and competing, forms of masculinity.[1][3] Consequently, hegemonic masculinity was reformulated to include gender hierarchy, the geography of masculine configurations, the processes of social embodiment, and the psycho-social dynamics of the varieties of masculinity.
Proponents of the concept of hegemonic masculinity argue that it is conceptually useful for understanding gender relations, and is applicable to life-span development, education, criminology, the representations of masculinity in the mass communications media, the health of men and women, and the functional structure of organizations.[3] Critics argue that hegemonic masculinity is heteronormative, is not self-reproducing, ignores positive aspects of masculinity, relies on a flawed underlying concept of masculinity, or is too ambiguous to have practical application.
Psychology of Men & Masculinities (originally Psychology of Men & Masculinity) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the American Psychological Association on behalf of Division 51. The journal was established in 2000 and covers research on "how boys' and men's psychology is influenced and shaped by both gender and sex, and encompasses the study of the social construction of gender, sex differences and similarities, and biological processes.”
Patriarchy is a social system in which positions of authority are primarily held by men. The term patriarchy is used both in anthropology to describe a family or clan controlled by the father or eldest male or group of males, and in feminist theory to describe a broader social structure in which men as a group dominate society.[1][2][3]
Sociobiologists compare human gender roles to sexed behavior in other primates and argue that gender inequality originates from genetic and reproductive differences between men and women. Patriarchal ideology explains and rationalizes patriarchy by attributing gender inequality to inherent natural differences between men and women, divine commandment, or other fixed structures.[4] Social constructionists sociologists tend to disagree with biological explanations of patriarchy and contend that socialization processes are primarily responsible for establishing gender roles[5], they further argue that gender roles and gender inequity are instruments of power and have become social norms to maintain control over women.
Historically, patriarchy has manifested itself in the social, legal, political, religious, and economic organization of a range of different cultures.[6] Most contemporary societies are, in practice, patriarchal, unless the criteria of complete exclusion of women in authority is applied.[7][8]
Patriarchy is a social system in which the primary positions of authority are held by men, in the areas of political leadership, moral authority and control of property.[21] Sociologist Sylvia Walby defines patriarchy as "a system of social structures and practices in which men dominate, oppress, and exploit women".[2] Social stratification along gender lines, with power predominantly held by men, has been observed in most, but not all societies.[7][17][18] The concept of patriarchy is also related to patrilineality in a anthropological sense, although not exclusively.
AGRIFINACING
Belgium Monetary Zone
Belgian rule in the Congo was based on the "colonial trinity" (trinité coloniale) of state, missionary and private-company interests.[9]
Union Minière du Haut-Katanga primary product was copper, but it also produced tin, cobalt, radium, uranium, zinc, cadmium, germanium, manganese, silver, and gold.
A currency based on the gold standard was created for the Congo Free State in 1887. Banknotes were issued from 1896 in the name of the General Treasury of the Congo Free State (Trésoire générale de l'État indépendant du Congo) payable to the bearer, until the annexation of the Free State in 1908.[1]
After WWII, the Congolese and Belgian francs continued to form part of the "Belgian monetary zone" under the Bretton Woods system.
As a result of the confused legal definition under Article 11 of the 1908 Colonial Charter, it has been argued that that the Congolese franc did not exist de jure as a currency between 1908 and 1960 and was instead merely a token representing a claim on Belgian francs.[2] It did exist, however, as the sole de facto currency in the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi.

A year after Buckingham Palace announced that the King had cancer, the royal family appears to be back up to a level of official engagements not seen since 2023. It is understood that Charles, 76, is advising aides to fill any gaps in his diary with more engagements. The King is still undergoing treatment, but those close to him have revealed that the best medicine for him appears to be staying busy. Behind the scenes and mostly unbeknown to the public, his social life is also packed with engagements. As well as private dinners, the King made a secret trip to the London Coliseum theatre on Tuesday to see the English National Opera’s performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. The day before, he went to see an art exhibition. The Queen, 77, did not join her husband at the theatre as she was having a special dinner with Helena Bonham Carter and Sir Stephen Fry at The London Library, of which Camilla is patron. For those in the palace, the King’s insistence on remaining busy and his family’s willingness to join in is heartening news, or as one source said: “A nice problem to have.” For Charles, the slimmed-down monarchy is now back to business and being dispatched far and wide. A palace source said: “After the health challenges of last year, there is a real sense of dynamism and enthusiasm that so many members of the family are now out and about. “There are days when it’s hard for the palace teams to keep up, with so much going on and on so many different fronts, but that’s a nice problem to have.” [...] Back at the palace, the word “slow” is not one that seems to resonate with staff. It is understood that Camilla has tried and failed to persuade Charles to slow down. Courtiers, meanwhile, have realised that it is pointless to suggest to the King that gaps in the diary could be filled with “downtime”. A palace source said: “Treatment programme aside, keeping busy really seems to be the best form of medicine for him. “He has a laser focus on any gaps in his diary and even if there is a spare hour and a half he will make a request for it to be filled with a community visit or another meeting.” This week Charles met Kemi Badenoch, the Conservative Party leader, reviving an old tradition of the monarch meeting the leader of the opposition as well as the prime minister. On Tuesday, he honoured Dame Anna Wintour and Dame Tracey Emin at an investiture and called Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini to give his personal condolences on the death of his father, the Aga Khan. He received members of the intelligence services and civil servants at the palace to thank them for their service. Then, as we now know, Charles went off to the theatre. The Queen, too, is clocking up official engagements despite suffering from pneumonia at the end of last year. Her jobs included opening the Mulberry Academy secondary school in east London and touring a sexual assault referral centre in Exeter.
Kate Mansey, The Times, "King makes secret trip to opera as Royals rebuild to full strength"
Well, well, well...
A full article about how Charles is up and about, working and going out in public. He's clearly not dying any time soon. No workshyness by the King & Queen!
It's almost as if the BRF knows there is going to be a problem about how little a certain someone works. When they're mentioning how the elderly queen (77!), who had pneumonia, did three engagements this week in contrast to a certain someone's single engagement.
It's going to be a hard spring...

Poetry for ALL
Some personal anecdotes and a plea follow...
As quite a few of you know, I’ve been engaged in disability awareness and rights campaigning and other work since sometime in the 90s, so when I was given an opportunity to support and host an event dedicated to making performance poetry as accessible as possible in 2018, I jumped on it.
Tumblr media
(image description in alt text)
Poetry for All is the brainchild (and heartchild, and soulchild) of Rose Drew, who I first met through one of Richard Tyrone Jones’s Utter events in London. She’s an extraordinary writer and performer, and a powerhouse of an events host and organiser. Within about 30 seconds of watching her on stage, I knew I wanted to be like her when I grew up as an artist. When she got in touch three years later to ask if I’d like to help out with what turned out to be the inaugural event, I threw myself into providing as much support as possible with enthusiastic abandon, and we pulled together a line-up which included the extraordinary performers Raymond Antrobus and DL Williams (“DeafFirefly”), both of whom I’d performed with before and was keen to see again.
Now, there’s a whole section on our new website about the history of the events where you can read the facts, but I want to say here that, personally, that first event in March 2018 (coincidentally on my birthday!) was an absolute eye-opener – seeing how poetry events could expand and develop the ideal of accessibility in ways I hadn’t considered. It was also extremely inspirational as I realised that, well, I was allowed to write about my disabilities. Seeing and hearing artist after artist sharing so much and so eloquently unlocked something in me that I didn’t even know I’d been repressing:
I’m allowed to be an openly disabled poet. I’m allowed to express my neurodivergence. I can tell my truth. 😱🤯
Bit of a culture-shock, but I owe so much to the poets and to Rose (and to Dave Wycherley, BSL interpreter extraordinaire – that’s a hard and physically/ mentally taxing job as it is, but to do that with poetry? on the fly?! breathtaking...) for helping me get to that starting point, knocking down the walls of my own internalised ableism.
So, apart from a paean to self-expression and why representation and finding tribe matters, and a screed of gratitude for new friends made and old friendships strengthened through the course of these events, why am I writing this? What’s with the hashtag? “Plea...?”
Well, so far, since you ask, all of our events have had local funding in York, where they’ve taken place exclusively so far. Rose applied for Arts Council England funding for this and next year for a tour comprising several venues and a host more disabled artists and BSL interpreters from various parts of the UK (all getting paid properly!), but we found out last week that we’d not got the money. Any of it. So our forthcoming event on 24th November in the gorgeous National Centre for Early Music is in jeopardy and, since the thought of Rose (herself a disabled artist on low wages) having to pay for this out of her own pocket was not to be supported, I threw myself at a plan of creating a (somewhat last-minute) Crowdfunder, so that we can at least pay for the venue, the artists’ and interpreters’ fees, the travel and accommodation expenses of those of us coming from out of town, and the costs of producing merchandise to sell. We’ll be producing an anthology in print and ebook form, as a joint publication between indie publishers Stairwell Books and Allographic Press. And, if we exceed our funding goal, there’ll be video and audio available of the event to boot!
We’ve created a frankly very exciting range of pledge rewards for people wanting to support us (all the way from £1 and £2 options, since money is tight, especially for disabled folk, right now, to more chunky ones like private mentoring, workshops, and a publishing package), and we’ve got three weeks(!) to raise our £1,500 to cover the shortfall from ticket and merch sales. Eeep! So, if you’re able to and would like to help us, we’d be ever so grateful. The campaign is here:
https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/poetry-for-all-2023-fundraiser
And if you have absolutely no funds to share with us at all, we’d be incredibly grateful if you shared on social media, with friends, on blogs, all of that!
Thanks for reading all this, and have a great day!

Big, Big Love: k.d. lang on Stage Studio Bell, The National Music Centre, 2017 photographed by Jamila Kanaji
But, interestingly, most of the artifacts on display from that period are not musical but items of clothing that lang wore. There’s the red and gold brocade jacket she wore on the Ingenue tour; the yellow ball gown that was featured in the video for Miss Chatelaine; a striped shirt seen in the video for Constant Craving; a red, white and black striped jacket she wore at the Junos that year; and the black jacket she wore at the Grammy Awards.
The exhibit also features artifacts like the handmade diorama that was used to create the cover art for the 1987 album Angel with a Lariat and a few of lang’s musical instruments. But Big, Big Love is dominated by clothing, everything from her cowpunk stage outfit from 1985, which featured a fringed-satin shirt and floral skirt, to the bedazzled blue nudie suit she wore in 1990. It’s a reminder that, no matter how impressive lang’s singing voice and talent for genre-hopping may be, she was also an artist who was conscious and in control of her image, allowing her to play with ideas of gender and androgyny and to simply “have a lot of fun with clothes.”
“It was inseparable from the music, it was a whole piece,” lang says. “I came from a performance-art background, so it was definitely as much of the concept as the music. It was to present it as I did with music, which was a hybrid between classic sounds or classic instrumentation but mixed with an alternative mindset. So you’d have a classic country shirt but you’d have sawed-off men’s cowboy boots and a skirt.”
Lang, who spends most of her time in Calgary these days, was aware and had been impressed with the work being done at Studio Bell, which is home to the National Music Centre. She offered to donate or loan some of her belongings to the centre.
“I definitely have a fondness and enjoy looking at those things,” lang says. “But I feel, in some ways, owning that stuff and having to carry it around with me in a way weighs me down, both physically and spiritually. I really feel like I want to share it but not own it.” {x}

Actor Michael Sheen has unveiled his ambitions to "buck the trend" in Wales with the launch of his recently announced Welsh National Theatre, revealing plans to commission original work and "galvanise" the sector.
He said that ideas were already "bubbling away" for the new company, announced last week, which he added would be "lean" and not subservient to external funding.
Sheen said that his new organisation was set to unleash "a canon of great Welsh plays just waiting to be discovered" on "the grandest stages around the world" following the closure of the National Theatre Wales in its current form.
Speaking to The Stage on the day of his company’s launch, Sheen said that although behind-the-scenes planning long pre-dated the announcement in December that NTW had ceased operations, the precarious state of the Welsh performing arts industry had compelled him to take action.
Sustained squeezes to funding has left remaining Welsh theatres hampered by "eye-watering" building costs, staff burnout and a skills drain, research by Creu Cymru revealed last week.
Asked if the jeopardy facing Welsh theatre made him nervous for his venture, the actor said: "I’d be very foolish to not take on board what the climate is like, but I’m using that as a springboard to go in the other direction.
"It’s because of the situation, because of the circumstances and how difficult and bleak they’re looking – that is my incentive."
Recalling hearing the news that National Theatre Wales’ funding had been scrapped while rehearsing for his role as NHS founding father and Welshman Aneurin Bevan in Nye, Sheen said the company’s closure a year later "didn’t come as a massive surprise, but it was still incredibly upsetting that we’ve been left without a national theatre in Wales".
Now Sheen is to finance certain elements of a new Welsh National Theatre as well as running it as artistic director.
"I’m a unique position in some ways," he told The Stage, "I have my own resources. And I don’t just mean financially, although that is part of it. I can buck the trend, or at least try to change the current a bit. I don’t have to go cap in hand to people right now.
"There are enough people who want to work with me as an individual that I can say: ‘Okay, how about working with us as a company?’ I can convene people, I can get doors opened, I can commission playwrights and hopefully I can galvanise and catalyse things in a way that maybe other people are not in a position to do. I want to make the most of that while it’s still the case."
Despite ongoing discussions with public sector organisations, there is, as yet, no confirmed external funding stream for the Welsh National Theatre. However, Sheen has said that this tighter way of operating suited him.
"In my experience of things I’ve done outside the acting world around activism, supporting community development projects, I’ve found that keeping things very, very simple and lean allows you to focus on your actual incentive and ideals," he told The Stage.
"I’m hoping that what we can do is create work of quality and that is popular enough for people to come in high enough numbers to be sustainable so that we’re not relying too much on outside funding and, if we are, that it’s diversified so that we don’t leave ourselves vulnerable by being too dependent on any one source of funding."
Details are still to come about the Welsh National Theatre’s first production, which is tipped to be staged at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre and to feature Sheen himself.
The artistic director, who has received four Olivier nominations during his career, said he currently planned to produce one large-scale show per year, and hoped that the company’s annual output would increase in future.
"I could, potentially, announce a three-year programme right now, but it’s still being organised," he said. "But even though we’ve essentially only launched today, there’s so much exciting stuff already bubbling away. I commissioned a new play today. There are already writers who are commissioned to do new stuff.
"But I want to start simple. So what we’re aiming for right now, with no funding, is one big production a year, but when circumstances allow it, we’ll expand. I don’t want to run before we can walk. I want to do the simple things really, really well – fantastic things on great stages for audiences that it’ll be meaningful for."
Wales-focused storytelling, Sheen continued, was the company’s key focus, something that he said had been under-programmed and under-nurtured in recent years.
"There are a lot of writers out there who are itching to write the big plays and just don’t feel that there’s the support for that," he said. "[Their plays] are not going to get a production – they’re going to get put on, if at all, for two nights in a studio. And, obviously, people write for what they’re going to get put on.
"So I want to create an environment for writers to be able to take a big swing, and feel supported in that – both new writing and looking at classic plays through a Welsh lens, picking out things that really resonate with Welsh culture and identity. I want to build up that canon."
Sheen also called for the government to commit to the importance of culture, contending that without an understanding that it was not simply an indulgence, negotiations about funding were "pointless".
"Before you get into any conversation about funding, which is of course extremely important, first and foremost I think there needs to be a conversation about why we need art, culture and theatre," he told The Stage.
"If the people who have the levers of power and who hold the purse strings don’t actually believe in it, or understand what it represents, then it’s pointless getting into arguments about funding.
"The arts are not a luxury add-on. They are fundamental to how we function as a culture and as a society, how we understand ourselves and each other, how we process where we’ve been and what’s happening to us so that we can understand what the possibilities are for moving forward. Unless that conversation is had, then there’s no point talking about funding."

The actor Ian Charleson was born on August 11th 1949 in Edinburgh.
Best known for his portrayal as Eric Liddell, the Presbyterian missionary who refused to compete on the Sabbath, in Hugh Hudson’s Oscar-winning “Chariots of Fire” . Although he only appeared in a handful of films, he starred in many successful stage shows.
He was the son of a printer and sang soprano as a boy. Raised in Edinburgh, he attended the Royal High School and Edinburgh University, both on scholarship. He was a member of the Edinburgh University Drama Society as an actor, singer, and director, and even worked with costumes. Next, he went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art . Odd jobs included singing at the restaurant, “Food for Thought”, and waiting tables at the “Hard Rock Cafe”. He left LAMDA early and was a member of the “Young Vic Company” in London for two years. His first West End role was in Simon Gray’s “Otherwise Engaged”.
He performed at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1977 to 1989. Ian did appear in a number of TV shows, the pick of them, in my opinion, are Reilly: Ace of Spies, Master of The Game and Codename: Kyril.
Had a lovely tenor voice as an adult; the Royal Shakespeare Company released a CD of his singing in 1982.He also won the annual Edinburgh Evening News Talent Contest 2 years running singing My Love is Like a Red, Red, Rose.
Sadly Ian Charleson passed away from an Aids related illness at the young age of forty. This was the first celebrity death in the United Kingdom openly attributed to AIDS, and the announcement helped to promote awareness and acceptance of the disease.
The Ian Charleson Day Centre is a leading HIV clinic in London ia named in his memory and The Ian Charleson Awards are theatrical awards that reward the best classical stage performances in Britain by actors under age 30 also remember him.
Ian is buried in Portobello Cemetery on the South east of Edinburgh.

alright gang since i am in fact a triple major and one of those majors is political science and I am good at my postcolonial studies, I just wanted to talk about the trump situation, which is a break from my usual art posting.
It is a known fact that white people regardless of their gender or orientation only focus on themselves so I am not surprised by the white women voting for Trump, but the non-white people who do, do you not understand that they will never see you as one of them? Coloured people to the right wing are a mere statistic or an example of "one of the good ones", never someone who is part of them. It's not a hybridisation or something that automatically makes a non-white person one of the "civilised whites" because they will always see you as an outsider. No matter how much you try to imitate them they will literally only see the non-whites as a performing monkey. Right-winged people in this regard are never something I will understand.
You will not be spared, you are ultimately to them an outsider who needs to be cleansed. Licking their ass and bowing down for them will never change the us versus them mentality that they have systematically ingrained into themselves to position them as the "higher species".
Also, America has a habit of sticking its nose into shit that it doesn't need to belong in, again because of this hyper-individualised, arrogant notion that they are the protectors of world peace, and the West as a whole has facilitated that delusion by enabling the G5, by enabling America's terrorism in the guise of peacekeeping and by enabling this coloniser greed of exploitation under the guise of globalisation.
And America is not even leftist. It's barely even centrist/moderate. The closest thing that hellhole has to leftism is centre-right. And even then its barely disguised right-wing policies are seen as too left for the general populace whose heads are filled with delusions of grandeur and superiority.
And I will never pity any American, specifically white American, but I have no choice but to do so, because America has, with its arrogance and self-importance and its control, made it everyone else's problem.
But hey, land of the free am I right?
maybe this time the other western countries "feel" threatened again and try to make attempts at "limiting" America's influence. But it will always be us developing nations that suffer because of you all
