People are often very surprised when they find out I watched all of fairy tail around the same time that I couldn't finish Naruto because one seems to be perceived as objectively better than the other. What they fail to understand is that fairy tail filled me with joy and happiness while I literally could not watch Naruto because it made me too sad. I related to much as I too was pushed away from everyone for the demons inside me (undiagnosed autism)

So, this is an idea I had many years ago, which is drawing UT characters dressed like other characters from Samurai Warriors / Sengoku Musou, one of my fave videogame series (Same devs behind Hyrule Warriors, OP Pirate Warriors, etc.)

In the end I left this idea forgotten in a drawer because I was more lazy and unexperienced, but these last few weeks I've come back to play Warriors games, and it came to the surface again Xd

I'm planing to draw cosplays for the main UT characters in the order they appear in-game, starting off with Frisk. I couldn't decide between giving them a male/female character, so I went with both

A little bit of SW trivia! ^^

Kunoichi and Sasuke are both ninjas in SW, who work for the Sanada clan.

Kunoichi has appeared since SW1, and she's the adopted daughter of Takeda Shingen.

Sasuke (who is not the one from Naruto Xd) is a fictional shinobi famed as one of the "Sanada ten Braves". They're also the bodyguards of Sanada Yukimura (which you might now is the character from who I took my name Xd)

PS: You may recognize some of these designs if you've ever played Pokémon Conquest, a crossover Nintendo made with SW :3

Fell down a rabbit hole, so have traditional Japanese weapons for Maizulee:

Mai:

Bo shuriken- she carries them.around her wrists, ankles, basically throwing spikes

kunai- the typical ninja knives, there's a plethora of different shapes

naginata- I'm not really sure about this one since it's a polearm and quite long, but I like to imagine Mai also knows how to fight with close range weapons (also bonus point, the naginata was usualy used by female samurai)

kaiken- short dagger resembling a katana

suntetsu- a metal spike with a ring to wear ut on your finger (concealed weapon)

Ty lee:

kusari fundo/Jōhyō- a metal weight/spike on a rope (her fluid fighting style reminds me of dancing, and this weapon is usually used by a lot of fluid, dance-like motions)

tekko kagi or te kagi- the 'hand claws'...don't ask why, she would just have them

Tonfa- wooden weapon of a stick and a handle (one word-bonk)

Azula:

kankyu- a middle-sized bow

Wakatushi arrows- so called "meat-cutter" arrows. Because of course she would

kaburi-ya arrows- "howling arrows". They were hollowed out with designs to whistle as they were shot (she'd use them to grind her opponents nerves)

(Maybe) sai- three-pronged weapon with the middle prong longer than the side ones (Used for stabbing amd disarming the opponent. Concealed weapon)

As always I have to write a little ficlet for the latest results in the @narutocharacterpolls 🥰🥰🥰

“Kakashi-Sensei!”

Hearing his student calling out for him, Kakashi turned toward his voice and watched as a blur of Orange rushed head first toward him.

Had he stood his ground he may have been knocked onto his butt by the energetic bundle that he called a student, but at the last second he took a step to the left and watched as Naruto went storming past him.

It took his student all of two seconds to realize what had happened, turn himself around, and head back toward Kakashi. This time as he approached his Sensei, he slowed himself down until he came to a hard stop directly in front of Kakashi.

“Kakashi-Sensei!”

“Naruto,” he responded with a cheerful tone. “You’re rather happy for someone who just-“ his eyes darted toward the scoreboard and the scene in front of it. Gai was surrounded by his three students, all of them cheering in celebration of his win. Even Lee seemed happy, though his shoulder’s sagged a little even as he congratulated his Sensei.

An expected reaction. Kakashi was certain Naruto would have felt the same after his loss against Gai.

“You’re going forward, right?” Naruto smiled up at him with a large, toothy grin.

“Mmmhmm,” though he still didn’t understand why. He’d assumed he would have lost against Lee and was perfectly fine with it.

In fact, he would have been happier if he’d been knocked out in the first round against Sakura, but it seemed the village had other plans for him.

“So you’re going to win, right?” Naruto threw his arms up into the air and cheered. “Sasuke, Sakura and I can’t win the whole thing now, so it’s up to you Sensei.”

“Well…”

“Come on!” He whined, grunting when Sakura stepped up behind him and gave him a hard punch to the top of the head. “Owww, Sakura!?”

“Leave Sensei alone,” she huffed, her bitterness at losing in the first round still evident in the way she refused to meet Kakashi’s eye. “Beside’s, how can he win? Gai-Sensei may be weird, but he’s still cooler than Kakashi-Sensei.”

Now that had hurt.

“Hey now, i-“

“Sakura’s right,” Sasuke huffed as he stopped beside Kakashi. “Besides, Kakashi doesn’t want to win. He has been trying to get out since round one.”

It was true, but he didn’t need his student to point ut out. It just made him seem pathetic.

“But, Kakashi-Sensei is the only one left in team seven!” Naruto argued. “If he loses…”

His words trailed off, but Kakashi didn’t need to hear them to know what Naruto was going to say. If he lsot the next round, team seven was done.

There would be no one left to fight for their honor.

“Well,” glancing back toward Gai and his team, he chuckled when he was greeted with a thumbs up from his eternal rival. “I guess i’ll just have to win then.”

“Really?”

“As if,” Sakura snorted.

“It would be nice,” Sasuke grumbled under his breath, clearly still bitter from his loss against Tenten. “You sure you can do it?”

That Kakashi didn’t have an answer to. Gai was popular and for good reason. He was kind, friendly, always open to help out, cheerful.

There wasn’t a thing wrong with his friend, where as Kakashi had a whole list of reason’s not to vote for him.

There was no point in dwelling on any of that though. His team needed him. They had to see him straighten himself up and actually try to secure the win.

If not for himself, then for them.

“I’ll do it,” he promised, copying his best friend’s previous show of support by giving his three adorable students a thumbs up. “Leave it to me.”

Hello lovely author, I have a question if you don't mind me asking (if you do mind then feel free to ignore this) from what I recall we only ever read the scene where Naoki and Genma were captured by Shuken from Genma's POV, so I've been wondering how did Shikamaru get from where Genma hid him to where Naoki and Genma were in that scene? Like did Shikamaru just wonder on by, was Kurayami looking for Shuken to finish the game or was he found by those chimaera/hybrid people.

Now onto my rave review.

I have no words to express how much I love your work. I have sentences and scenes that are carved into my brain. Naruto has alot of dark themes but ultimately has a hopeful tone so I really like the darker tone you've created for this universe and how you don't shy away the darker topics. But what I love most is how distinct and real ALL the characters feel (I don't normally like OC in fanfics but I got invested in all of yours), they feel so lived in and how you write the relationships between the characters is just👨‍🍳💋(I absolutely adore Neji and Kiba's dynamic and lack of chemistry).

I found it interesting that Shikamaru is kinda like a bridge between Naruto and Sasuke's traumas (Neji's pointed out similarities in HHU, the whole Orochimaru/Shuken thing and they've have all been hurt in some way by Konoha, Uchiha Massacre; System of lies -despite the good intentions- etc).

Chapter 10 was wild. The mental link reveal had me reeling for all the angst potential it holds. I wonder if that is how Naruto will find out about NejiShika🤔(if he does). None of the rookie13 are aware of their relationship, right? Wouldn't that be a fun reaction. I'm really loving the flashback scenes and Naruto's POV. I'm rooting for him to get his validation about the Kusa mission especially after he got dismissed by the other rookie12 in UTS (I find it funny how Sakura uses medical jargon to keep Naruto from suspecting anything but thats an instant tell).

Firstly, I welcome your question, so thanks for taking the time! I'll do my best to answer. I appreciate your patience with me getting round to responding to you. 🙏🏼

This is an excellent question which addresses a decision I regret making when it came to editing UtS. I chopped a whole heck of a lot of stuff out. I can add clarity here, in lieu of writing a chapter (maybe slipping it into a flashback might work better). You are correct in that Kurayami did his whole hostile takeover at that point and was the one who led Shikamaru back to where Shuken was holding Genma and Naoki. It would've been a semi fugue state in which Shikamaru operated, which is why he holds no memory of it. This is why it was told from Genma's limited POV. In order to fully write it, it would need to be told from Kurayami's perspective, and his full-on emergence came towards the latter end of UtS, where he was focused on annihilating Shuken, rather than reliving his memories. Shikamaru's flashbacks often came with big ass blanks in his head, due to the alter switch.

Simply put: Shikamaru woke up in a fugue state, was directed by Kurayami, ended up locating Genma and Naoki and losing his shit when seeing Shuken. Kurayami semi-disabled Shuken, at which point Naoki moved to shut Kurayami down and seal up Shikamaru's mind, getting a knife in the back (courtesey of batshit still-live-and-stabbing Shuken) for his efforts. Genma picked up Shikamaru and he and Naoki had to hightail it the hell outta there - which sadly resulted in Naoki succumbing to his injuries (as far as Genma knew) and telling Genma to go on without him. Shikamaru's little wander into the lion's den was experienced through Genma's POV, which is why there were blanks. It would need to be Shuken or Kurayami's POV to get the full picture and I regret not adding a different POV lens to that scene; though there's always room for flashbacks from Kurayami's perspective (or possibly Shikamaru's given that he'd integrated Kurayami by the end of UtS). I hope this answers your question, luv? Forgive the confusion, I appreciate it would've left question marks hanging. God knows Genma was WTF'ing his way through that experience.

Thank you, my luv, I am dastardly like that and I appreciate that the darker themes and tone don't make you go running for the hills. I have big love for you being in the trenches with these characters. Everyone has their comfort zones, and I am distinctively shit at giving much warning other than the bare-minimum kind of tags (habit of being an ffnet creature rather than an AO3 one). My human wiring is tangled up in the veins of these issues, and while that's sometimes gotten me flak, I will always tell the story that wants to be told and hope I do it justice.

I'm so glad I watched Shippuden from start to finish...that was a marathon worth investing in. And yes, precisely. He's more clued in than he lets on...or realises on a conscious level. It feels very reactive, visceral, and instinctive with Naruto. So different to writing Shikamaru, Neji, and other cerebral or controlled characters.

Notes:

-Well… this took a long time to finish, especially in drawing Monsterkind’s home on the surface… Obviously some of the layout and buildings is ripped straight from Deltarune’s light world.

-There are a lot of cameos from both Undertale and Deltarune. I replicated some of the UT/DR sprites in the art by copying their original sprites ripped at Spriters Resource. Some of the background characters may have been modified from their original sprites. Same for some of the buildings.

-I like to think that monsters are able to bring some of the structures in the underground onto the surface. Probably able to do so with magic.

-The panel where Asriel and Chara are running towards Toriel’s home is actually from the Undertale Art Book. -As you can see, the unknown Holiday mother is queen of Monsterkind. Except we don't know what she really looks like officially by the time of this writing so I took my best guess on her appearance if she were a queen. -Yes I know, Post Timeskip Frisk looks like that Gregory kid from the FNAF Security Breach game. That was unintentional when I designed my older version of Frisk at the time.

-Flowey's "leaf legs" are inspired by the sunflowers from the Plants vs Zombies games.

-EDIT: Changed the Royal Guard duo to match their canon colors as seen in Deltarune. Apparently the Tarrot Card colors I initially gave em were the wrong ones. I also changed the uniforms of the guards because I felt that having them around in knight armor looks out of place in a modern setting.  These uniforms I designed before I got into undertale but I remember taking inspiration from the flak jackets of the Naruto anime. -EDIT 2: Removed the mechs in favor of robot ducks like the one you could potentially make in Deltarune Chapter 1. I do plan to reintroduce proper mechs at a later point in the story.

If you’ve been following this comic for a while, I want to thank you for sticking around to the very end. Its been quite the challenge for me making a full fledged Undertale comic, especially since I don’t consider myself to be a very good artist. As for what’s next? I intend for this comic to be the launch of this AU. I have plans for the 1st chapter…but we’ll see if this AU goes anywhere or not…

As in, they want to see, so at nighttime she she won't wear her Beanie, but then she has the Sleep Mask. They try to catch her after a the shower, ut then she has a shower cap on, and so on and so on = Hilarity!

No. Not all. Maybe Reese was curious at the beginning, but May firmly puts her foot down on showing her eye, expressing great discomfort even talking about it. Since then the team has respected her right to privacy. When she's ready to talk about it is for her to decide.
