Enlisted in the LPAF by her Uncle's wishes to "Carve a better path for herself". Was not liked by her peers for her cocky attitude, overly aggressive tactics, and habit of prioritizing her personal safety over the team.

During her time her path crossed with Nikolai, in search of work she signed a long term contract with Chimera, with one year of service.
Shown to exhibit signs of social anxiety and difficulty forming close relationships around people her age. Inherited Kapano Vang's short temper in combat, though more relaxed outside of it.

Weapon(s): Whatever is heavy
Distinct Weapon: SCAR FN PDW, Dual Push Blades
Shortcomings: Overly aggressive tactics, focus on personal safety, short temper
Family

Mother: Adoptive sister of Kapano Vang; (whereabouts unknown, records not found/withheld)
Uncle: Kapano “Naga” Vang; (Former warlord drug trafficker, formerly in Warsaw Pact)
Relationship with Family: Nak still idolizes her uncle to an extent, but the more that she's out in the world, the more she realizes that he isn't a good person. Nak’s mother wasn’t present in life. Her uncle took her in after mother wasn’t able to care for her. Naga trained her at a very young age; he thought it was best if she was strong in their lifestyle.
Pet: Cat person, never was allowed to have pets but she would throw scraps of food to strays.
Tumblr media
PERSONALITY
Myers Briggs Type: ESTJ-T
Nak is an extroverted introvert, she likes and enjoys talking to people, however it drains her energy quickly since she's not used to talking to people in such a casual manner. Things like talking business she’s more used to.
Adaptable
A quick thinker, Nak is able to carry out missions by finding creative solutions to make sure her operations are successful. Outside of the battlefield her adaptability allows her to have better communication with people, even with her social anxiety.
Pragmatic
Nak strives to make the most effective solutions so it’s easier on her in the future. Her decision making skills ensure that she’ll survive in the field and outside of it.
Responsible
Living on her own, Nak is responsible, she can’t relax unless all her work is done beforehand. As she starts forming close relationships with people, she realizes that she likes taking care of people.
Negative Traits
Stubborn
Starting out Nak isn’t a very good teamplayer. She doesn’t like others telling her what to do or how to do things so she’s stubborn in a way that she’s adamant about what she wants but adaptable with what methods are needed.
Judgemental
Her formative years with Naga didn’t allow her to trust people, because of the Golden Triangle Cartel she has a habit of being overly critical of others.
Paranoid Perfectionist
Nak is self-demanding, she doesn’t take failure lightly. This leads to her paranoia of not being properly prepared. She becomes aggressive out of frustration if her ability isn’t to her liking.
TRIVIA
Nak is a shortened version of “phayanak” the mythical water serpent in Laos, it’s also the Lao pronunciation of “Naga” which is her Uncle’s name in the field.
Her face paint draws reference to how snake teeth are shown in Phayanak statues. There are multiple snake motifs in her design. Is the design practical? No, she just likes standing out in that way.
Nak cuts her own bangs (long blunt bangs) she doesn’t trust anyone with cutting them.
Has a lot of upper body and lower body strength; she can lift things heavier than her and calisthenics skills (handstands, full planches, etc.)
Often, most people's First impressions of her is that she's "Unsettling."

Something something I think gaolang and Kanohs rematch was useless and just made both characters feel... Idk
Especially gao, I feel like the fight really undermined his training like wdym kanoh wins with not much obvious damage on him? Excuse me? He's just walking off? Literally striking the same pose as he did before (sweeping his hair up out of his face)? Are you trying to make gao look like shit? Please, I get that kanoh is strong, and I'm not at all against him winning because, yea, he's really strong. But gaolang is made to seem so... Garbage. Idk how else to put this ok
Also, what does gao vs kanoh rematch bring to the table, let's be fr
-Does it show how gaolangs years of training up his fist helps him finally overcome the one obstacle he's been so focused on? Not really, no
-Does it have even a sliver of the hype that their original match did? No? Not at all?
The fight scene doesn't hit as hard, the was the fight is drawn doesn't look as dynamic, dramatic. It's not a match that gets my blood pumping, it doesn't look as good either, noticed gao and Kanoh's body proportions being off more often than in the first match, thought that's just visual, it shouldn't affect the match much. Though I can't say the match would be good if the art style was different. Because it wouldn't.
-Does it make kanoh feel like a "I had a sad flashback backstory that is shittier than gaolangs and therefore I get a power up" type bitch? Kinda, yea. Unfortunately
Y'all, it was literally like *insert flashback* and then kanoh dragon shots him. And wins. Um.
Oh don't even get me started on the unnecessary flashbacks. Kanoh? Okay, yea I guess we don't have his backstory, which means we were getting it sooner or later and I don't mind a backstory, but having kanoh just suddenly win right afterwards, damn idk man it feels forced, like a "I had a backstory, so immediately power up"
And I've already talked about why I hate gaolang's backstory, don't even make me repeat myself with that shit. What I didn't add in the linked post though, is actually lore inaccuracies. Like, that post was about visual inconsistencies, but oh, there's more. In ashura, gaolang was scouted by Rama's dad at the age of 5 after showing a lot of promise as a Muay Thai practitioner. In omega, he's at least a preteen, looking around 10-13y/o, and alright the top nak Muay before Rama's dad found him and hired him. Did Sandro forget? Probably
-Does it make gaolang feel a LOT weaker than in the original match? HELL yea.
At least in that first match, kanoh felt FEAR. He felt threatened, because gaolang is STRONG. And gaolang SHOULD be strong, he IS strong, and kanoh knows that, and is intimated by that. That's good, even if gaolang lost, kanoh gained the experience of fear, the feeling that he's lacking, which pushed him to improve, be BETTER. It led Kanoh to become stronger and less cocky, which is hella awesome. And gaolang isn't undermined because yea, he is strong, even the man who he lost to knows it
That first match LED to something, it made both of them strive to improve, something that the rematch absolutely didn't do. It felt like a punch in the gut like "Kanohs still stronger lmao" I don't even mind of kanoh was still stronger, let him win, if he deserves it. But the rushed fight made it feel like their rubbing gaos loss in your face
Rematch? Kanoh beat gaolang. Again. Yea. What else is there to it? Hmmm well gaolangs years of training up his fists, at least they didn't break again. But what else? It doesn't feel to me like he's improved per say, and kanoh doesn't seem to be having a harder time with him. Kanoh literally takes SO MANY elbows/hits to the FACE and you're telling me, he isn't even slightly phased? Their first match had gaolangs strikes making him blank OUT. Gaolangs obviously had to have gotten stronger right. So why are his hits having near to 0 effect? It's not like kanoh can just stop his brain from shaking, that's not really a thing you can train. Like, how do you train your nerves or whatever right? A concussion is a concussion. A blackout is a blackout. Even if Kanohs gotten a hell lot better at tanking hits, blows straight to the face? And all he gets is a nosebleed? No hindrence to his movements whatsoever? I'm calling bullshit. Ok so kanoh does actually "reel" a bit at the start after getting hit in the face (as he should) but after that one frame where he was like that, it's not like he was reacting any slower to gaos attacks, still able to counter and stuff like that, which makes me question how gaolangs strikes are supposed to be stronger, when obviously they aren't quite doing it. They don't "hit as hard" as they did before
There was literally one of those x-ray frames where you'd see inside of the characters head and like KANOHS FREAKING BRAIN WAS SHAKING. But that doesn't do anything much, kanoh was still able to block gaos next elbow, and kanoh wasn't even reeling from that one.
In their first match, I can't remember who but someone said something along the lines of "kanoh is taking hits from the world's best striker, his bones could break any moment" coupled with gaolang's strikes obviously having improved, making his hits (supposedly) even stronger than when he first fought kanoh, which means his strikes SHOULD be pretty fucking hard, and definitely doing DEEP damage, like I mean BONE deep, all over his body (yea, remember that one frame when they were talking about how Kanohs bones could shatter at any moment. His boneS PLURAL). Heck, I've seen other characters get multiple fractures and shit for LESS. Yes, kanoh is the strongest fang (allegedly), and obviously he's gonna be able to take one hell of a beating, but it's not like he has magical bones or something so??? How is he walking outta that arena with just a broke-ish arm that didn't even affect his performance in match because he was just spamming dragon shot?
Also I hate how gaolang isn't using kicks. BITCH. YOU'RE THE MUAY THAI TOP ONE??? FUCKING KICK YOU. YOU HAVE LEGS. USE EM.
That match made BOTH of them feel a lot less intimidating to me, and made gao seems like less of a threat. Plus I still don't get what it did for the plot, really. Did the plot move forward? If kanoh was to be crowned champ, it wouldn't need gaolang to be the fighter right? Sure it works because gao wants his rematch, but honestly, was that rematch good? The plot really didn't need those two to Duke it out and maybe it would've been better if they didn't because wow I can't take gaolang for real. That loss was embarrassing. Also the choreography and pacing of the match... Pheww...
The match was honestly such a nothing sandwich, which makes me sad because I love gaolang, and I love kanoh. Crazy how this match makes me feel ashamed for gaolang, like damn boy...

A few other lucky accidents in MLB I have noticed:
Nora is a kickboxer, wears those weird armbands, and insists to be called by her ring name. To a martial arts buff, that means she practices Muay Thai and got really serious about the culture, that includes those armbands (called pra jiad) and immense importance for the ring name (in Thailand a Nak Muay will often change their legal name to match, and will ALWAYS include their training camp in their name). It also explains why a bulldozer like her has a trickster name: the ring name is given by fans, and whoever gave it must have decided she looked like a deadly spider but didn't know Anansi is a trickster.
Marinette's grandmother is named Gina Misurati. Because in neither Italy nor France one changes their name to match their spouse (mrs. HUSBAND NAME is a courtesy title), and her bike, a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport (it's identical), has written Misurati on it (it was obviously a reference to Maserati, but they stopped making motorbikes in 1960, and none of their bikes looked like Gina's anyway).
Diplomats have horrible working hours that get worse with higher rank, and diplomat kids are often "weird" and forced to grow up too fast. By happenstance, Lila's first mother is barely home, and Lila shows surprising maturity at the oddest moments (like when she flat-out told Marinette that a boy wasn't worth fighting over and offered to help her with Adrien in exchange of friendship).
Paris didn't have their own city police until 2021. Roger is from the NATIONAL police, meaning he shouldn't answer to the mayor... But he does, so SOMETHING must have happened to cause this transfer of authority.
Felix' outfit is identical to Eton's uniform minus the ridiculous hat and overcoat. I suppose it fits his social standing.
Sabine can use her spatula as a weapon. That spatula is nearly identical to a Monk's Spade, a weapon used in Shaolinquan.
Speaking of martial arts, in Chameleon Lila uses actual MMA techniques to overpower Ladybug, and Felix' claim of using Karate points to Wado Ryu thanks to those dodging moves of his.
And the big missed chance: Savate. Not only it's France's national martial art, Paris is where it was improved in the street fights of the Belle Epoque... But nobody in the show practices it. The old non-sport style includes the ancestor of Parkour, cane fighting (now mostly practiced separatedly as La Canne), garrote (the contribution of Paris' gangs), throws (already present in Paris, where Greco-Roman Wrestling was born and practiced before being rebranded), and elbow and knee strikes. It would be perfect for out heroes, both of them... Yet they don't practice it.
Yeah, it's honestly such a shame that these awesome details/references are just either never used or a one-and-done deal just to make a cool easter egg. And sure, Gina's bike for example could be just that, a cool little character detail. Maybe while the bikes did stop getting made in the 60s, she got herself an old one and re-vamped it as the years went by. Adds flavor to her character. Admittedly I don't know enough to talk about the model, but I trust your skills when it comes to identifying the make. Also, I was always sure that changing your last name to a spouse's (like mrs Dupain-Cheng) is optional, like a courtesy as you said. I don't know enough French people to tell if it's a rare occurance or otherwise, but still a nice tidbit of info I'll file away.
Nora is honestly another prime example of wasting some awesome character building because they can't bother to do the research behind the design. Sure, she looks cool and somebody might have said "give her wrappings on the arms, that's awesome" and the designers went with it, but we clearly see that she is a Martial Arts buff even in the way she talks to Alya and co. Why they never bothered to lean in on that even as a background detail, I'll never know. I know it's unreasonable to expect any group of writers to focus on every single character beat, and that Nora doesn't appear enough to really warrant the focus, but it still would be cool to see even through like, one or two lines from Alya. A reference to the Anansi metaphor you mentioned or a word from Nora about the cultural inspiration. It would have been cool.
Continuing down the martial arts road, I did notice Lila's MMA moves in Chameleon, but it seemed more like a case of the writers/animators deciding on cool moves than them paying proper attention and using the correct style of fighting. Sure, they might have and in that case kudos to whoever greenlight that decision, but it always felt a little accidental to me, just for the sake of the action scene itself, you know? At least with Felix we get a proper explanation, and it does honestly build up his character with a cool detail. Not sure if Karate was the best fit for the reasoning here, but any explanation is a step in the right direction at least.
About Savate...it honestly would be an awesome inclusion. Sure, the heroes fight with their superpowers and weapons most of the time, but some the close-quarters moments like the rooftop scene in "Ladybug" was the perfect chance for Adrien to bust out a good throw at Hawkmoth. Speaking of, one might make the argument of Gabriel using La Canne moves, (and I honestly haven't seen enough to dispute that), but to me it looks like he handles his weapon more like a sword? Sure, fits in nicely with Adrien's fencing allowing him to fight back in a 1 vs 1, but we already have quite a few characters who swordfight this way. Tomoe and Kagami do, as does Adrien like I mentioned. It would have been much more visually interesting to give Gabriel a separate style of bladework, especially since his weapon is in the name. In general, I'd love to see a good knee-cracking kick from Ladybug, so I totally agree with you.
I do love Felix's outfit though. It's a cool reference to those who get it, but also stands on it's own as a cornerstone of his design and adds more to his character and personality. Especially with the entire fandom (me, I'm the fandom) writing about him habitually keeping wrinkles off his suit at all times and staying perfect. I refuse to believe Colt Fathom did not do a number on this kid. But yeah it's also just a cool outfit to put him in, and I appreciate that!
In terms of Roger and the police...I'm going to be frank with you, the show handles that aspect horribly. Sure, you could assume that they answer to Andre because he's the immediate authority figure and also a corrupt politician, but that's first of all not even remotely possibly without serious internal corruption of National Police, and second of all completely unreasonable! The police force's reaction to Akuma attacks used to be a big thing in Season 1. In Origins, they tried fighting Stoneheart on their own. And in Copycat, they try to apprehend "Chat Noir" for stealing the Mona Lisa. There's the seeds of an interesting dynamic between the heroes in masks and the boys in blue! But in Rogercop, they're being made into utter fools! Andre is very obviously under duress when he tells them to apprehend Ladybug and Chat Noir, and they just...start listening to the villain like mindless drones? In Maledictator I can excuse it, his whole powerset revolves around making new "laws" that those he blasts have to follow. Makes sense that Roger and co. would be the first responders and get beamed in 5 minutes flat. But in any case where an authority figure is forcibly giving orders, there is a protocol! A procedure to follow! A plan to be made! But...nothing! The show does absolutely nothing, and then beyond this point the vanish apart from another 2 or 3 times where police officers show up in the background somewhere, or as Akuma goons because we need grunts for an action scene. As much as I love "show don't tell", in this case I'd be happy with tell! A comment from a news report about how police have been instructed to stay out of the Akumas' way and help civilians evacuate is so easy to add, and it would change nothing except making Roger and his team actually usefull! As it stands, the entire concept of a police force exists only the few times Astruc needs it to. And don't even get me started on Chloe's coup of the Captial City of France!! I'm convinced this universe has no goverments, no presidents and no first responders for any situation, I swear...
About Lila's mother, yes! Finally somebody says it! Lila's mother is obviously overworked, she clearly does love her daughter but is physically unable to make time for her! This could be such a cool dynamic to see with Lila's home life, and like you said it perfectly explains why sometimes amidst her psychopathic tendencies there's a moment of unexpected maturity from her. Exploring this even gradually, even with us literally being drip-fed information, would have made Lila a much better character! There are so many layers here that remain unexplored, and I can smell the good content like a bloodhound! Sure is a shame that Thomas never bothered to include any of it... I swear, every fault this show has goes like this:
Cool Idea + Good Introduction + (Botched Everything-Else * No Follow-Up) = Miraculous Ladybug
Can't believe the writers made me do math for this show...or that when S6 releases we'll be able to make the "Six seasons and a movie" joke from Community. At least that's a silver lining...
P.S: I love Sabine's spatula. An elegant weapon, from a more civilized age...

I'm starting to wonder, am I the only Miraculous fanwriter to take advantage of how Nora and Felix have been (likely by accident) coded? I mean...
Nora Cesaire practices either Muay Thai or ita predecessor Muay Boran. She's wearing Pra Jiad armbands, typical of Muay practitioners, and insists to be called by her ring name, a fundamental part of Muay culture (in Thailand they often change their legal names to match). She is a Nak Muay... But outside my own stories I've seen that only once, in a Secret Santa to me.
Felix is an Eton student. I know that because he's wearing the uniform. Granted, he ditched the overcoat and top hat, but his outfit is still recognizable, he's English, and has the right money and age. I plan to use that, but I haven't seen that in a story yet.
Am I really the only one that noticed those things?

Just show the crew going to the occasional kickboxing class or something.
You just reminded me of another thing the show did that irks me as a martial arts buff: they coded Anansi as a Muay Thai practitioner completely by accident. The arm bands? They come from Muay Thai. The insistence on using her ring name? In Thailand a Nak Muay is likely to change their legal name to match. Said ring name being Anansi? You don't choose the ring name in Muay Thai, your teacher gives it to you and you can't change (most of) it, she was given the name by someone who thought they were clever. Her boisterousness? That's how a Nak Muay should be, a boisterous hero.
They coded her completely like a Nak Muay... And I know it was a complete accident, they just put together a lot of cool things that when put together any martial arts buff reads as proof she does Muay Thai.
I don't know enough about martial arts to know if other practices have similar things?

More poorly-drawn Fakemon!. These for for a hypothetical region based on Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand, though the ones I drew today are all Australian. See also starters and Johto starter variants.
Can't do Australia without Emus so here's Emuay, the Drab Pokemon, fighting-type. I took inspiration from how emus have very powerful kicks and looked for a kick-heavy martial art to base them on. I settled on Muay Thai as the martial art they are based on. Its name comes from "emu" and "Muay Thai". Emuay uses a unique fighting style that focuses heavily on kicks while also using its head and neck to strike foes. It loves collecting shiny objects and will attack anybody who keeps it from them.
Tumblr media
Emuay evolves into Cassonak, the Vain Pokemon, fighting-type. It is based on a cassowary, a realtive of emus that is also a powerful kicker and has a dangerous claw on its feet that can rip open predators. Its name comes from "cassowary" and "Nak Muay", the term for a Muay Thai practitioner (please correct me if I got the terminology wrong). Unlike the drab Emuay, Cassonak is very colorful and is very proud of its appearance. It attacks anyone who insults it with its deadly toe claws. Trainers of a Cassonak must be prepared to help it groom itself.
Tumblr media
Next up is Minufo, the Fairy Light Pokemon, fire/fairy-type. It is based on the Min Min lights, strange lights reported to appear in the Australian outback. Of course, one proposed explanation for the lights is they they are UFOs. I went with this idea for Minufo, whose name comes from Min Min and UFO, and also added the folklore of the similar Will-o-the-Wisp from European folklore. Minufo always appear in threes at night in remote desert regions. People who follow them will go missing, only to turn up later with no memory of what happened to them. Some people theorize they are drones sent to Earth by aliens.
Tumblr media
Minufo evolves in Pleminides, the Pleiadean Pokemon, fire/fairy-type. Its name comes from "Min Min" and "Pleiades", a star cluster that a lot of UFO folklore has as the home of some aliens. It looks like a flaming alien suspended beneath a black triangle UFO. I specifically based it off of the star child from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I wanted the design to look bizarre and unearthly. Pleminides is a very rare Pokemon that seems to appear before major scientific discoveries. The black object above its head is made of an unknown material that absorbs all forms of radiation. Some think that the black triangle is a drone from a distant star system and the flaming body is manifested to interact with the world.
Tumblr media
Finishing up today is Dunizen, the Dune Pokemon, ground-type. It is a living sand dune made of red sand. I based it off of the famous red sand of Australia. Its name comes from "dune" and "denizen". Dunizen has a body made of red sand and rocks for eyes. It is indistinguishable from a sand dune when not moving. It can lay motionless for years, waiting for prey to step on it. Because it spends so much time motionless, small plants will grow on it. In real life, small plants like this help hold sand dunes together.
Tumblr media
Dunizen evolves to Dustyghust, the Dust Devil Pokemon, ground/flying-type. It is based on dust devils and its name comes from "gust" and "dusty". Part of the inspiration for its design comes from me wanting to make a flying-type that represented an air elemental rather than a flying animal. Dustyghust draws air into its body and releases it in the form of two dust devils. It can send these dust devils off to pick up small prey and bring them back to it. It is a mystery how it controls its dust devils, as scientists have confirmed it does not use telekinesis to do so.

PERSONALITY
Myers Briggs Type: ESTJ-T Nak is an extroverted introvert, she likes and enjoys talking to people, however it drains her energy quickly since she's not used to talking to people in such a casual manner. Things like talking business she’s more used to.
Adaptable: A quick thinker, Nak is able to carry out missions by finding creative solutions to make sure her operations are successful. Outside of the battlefield her adaptability allows her to have better communication with people, even with her social anxiety.
Pragmatic: Nak strives to make the most effective solutions so it’s easier on her in the future. Her decision making skills ensure that she’ll survive in the field and outside of it.
Responsible: Living on her own, Nak is responsible, she can’t relax unless all her work is done beforehand. As she starts forming close relationships with people, she realizes that she likes taking care of people.
Negative Traits
Stubborn: Starting out Nak isn’t a very good teamplayer. She doesn’t like others telling her what to do or how to do things so she’s stubborn in a way that she’s adamant about what she wants but adaptable with what methods are needed.
Judgemental: Her formative years with Naga didn’t allow her to trust people, because of the Golden Triangle Cartel she has a habit of being overly critical of others.
Paranoid Perfectionist: Nak is self-demanding, she doesn’t take failure lightly. This leads to her paranoia of not being properly prepared. She becomes aggressive out of frustration if her ability isn’t to her liking.
Favourites

Food: Fried eggs
Drink: Lemon iced Tea
Flower: Plumeria

TRIVIA
Nak is a shortened version of “phayanak” the mythical water serpent in Laos, it’s also the Lao pronunciation of “Naga” which is her Uncle’s name on the field.
Nak is significantly more patient to small children than adults because she can understand why they would do the things they do.

Nak Muay moment
hey did you know??? that if you stop stretching and maintaining mobility in your body then it goes away?? things get tight and you can't move the way that you used to??? and when you decide to try getting a stretch routine going that the first week fucking sucks because you keep going 'damn i used to be able to do this no problem' and then you have to switch gears and be kind to yourself and just focus on getting better from here instead of berating yourself for dropping the good habits in the first place??? and your body never stops aging so you gotta keep taking care of it and sometimes you gotta take care of it extra in certain areas because of things that happened when you were younger and it's boring and sometimes hurts but it's so necessary???
i am yelling this at myself right now i am going through An Experience (trying to get into a routine of body maintenance again for my physical and mental health)

Jangan Kacau Aku Boleh Tak? oleh Aidil Ghazali
____
“Eh, perempuan senget! Jangan kacau hidup aku boleh tak?”
“Perempuan senget kau panggil aku?!!!”
Ehsan memang pantang sekali apabila bertemu Dahlia; musuh sejatinya. Asal jumpa saja mesti bergaduh. Macam anjing dan kucing!
***
Ehsan, seorang atlet Muay Thai bersungguh-sungguh berlatih agar dapat membanggakan ibunya. Namun, tragedi berlaku sehingga membuatkan hati Ehsan luluh—sinar hidupnya hilang, dunia terasa gelap.
Ehsan mula mengurung diri.
“Aku tak perlukan bantuan perempuan muka tempelan macam kau!”
“Eh, sedar diri sikit. Kau tu yang muka diskaun!”
Ketika peluang terakhir menjadi taruhan, Ehsan terpaksa membuat pilihan—sama ada kekal terpuruk dalam kegelapan, atau cuba meraih kebahagiaan diri untuk sekali lagi.
