Colette stared up at Giovanni, then tried again to wriggle out of her bonds, but they held her tight. Her hands and feet were tied with rope and she was attached to the wall. He stared down at her with cold red eyes. “Open up.” He knelt down and uncorked a small glass bottle. Colette struggled harder, staring at the red liquid inside. “Open up, I said!” He forced her mouth open. She started to scream, then choked as the liquid went down. He tipped it all in then stepped back as she choked and spluttered, splashing the potion everywhere. He wrinkled his nose as some of it splattered on his black shoe. 

Colette started to feel dizzy. The world seemed to be spinning, colours flashing in front of her. Giovanni’s face was lost in a haze of red and black. She panted, suddenly out of breath. The room snapped back into focus, albeit with slightly sharper colours. Giovanni knelt down again. He had a rapt expression, staring at her. “Colette?” She blinked, then looked down at herself. She felt like she was getting rushes of adrenaline that would come and then go in waves, leaving her exhausted and breathless, then charging her back up again. She slumped sideways and Giovanni caught her. 

“Colette?” His voice was sharper now, sounding concerned. Colette shook herself slightly, forcing herself to focus. She locked eyes with him. Suddenly it was all clear to her. She could see all the way through his mind, and what she saw there… she wrenched away from his grip. The adrenaline like feeling was surging through her, it’s power almost knocking her off her feet. “LIAR!” In one swift moment she broke her bonds. She darted backwards and slouched there, panting. She stared at him. Anger raged almost as strong as the power. They clashed and surged together, making her feel like she was on the edge of the large cliff that was her mental sanity. Below her, madness stretched out into nothing. A bottomless pit. Colette refocused on Giovanni, who was still standing there gazing at her. 

Colette wasn’t sure what happened next.

Giovanni stepped forward.

His mouth moved.

And Colette toppled headfirst into insanity.

Cover For A New Fic Book I'm Working On

Almost Human

Side note, Luxxx_Aeterna is my username on Wattpad. I'll be posting updates of this fic book on Wattpad, Tumblr, and AO3.

The plot:

A world perverse to mankind, a world filled with Alphas, Betas, Omegas... a chain of hierarchy that the mere human mind can not comprehend. Weres, humans, and daemons live amongst each other. That is until the calamity. Gray Fever, a disease that started within the bloodlines of weres, had been discovered. The illness didn't seem too bad, just another common cold... then the crazies started to erupt. It spread through the were communities until it didn't. Gray Fever evolved and began its infection among the humans, ravaging their brains and bodies, driving its victims into a slow, brutal insanity.

Gray Fever caused a great divide among the world. Weres were ostracized, patronized, and hunted by many humans who had given themselves the title of Hunters. With the great divide between species, the world is crumbling in a sick game of cat and mouse between species with one goal in mind: survive.

Now that I yeeted my thesis out the window, I can share my newest WIP. It’s a student/teacher story featuring grindeldore, a guide goat, a tournament for gifted wizards, and hard of hearing Albus being a mess. 💙 (All Safe Sane Consensual. More info in the story tags.)

This story is very personal, and not just because I love grindeldore and the goats with my whole heart. It's personal because it describes Albus' struggle with his disability–one we share. Albus' struggles are my own, and I'm hoping to pinpoint some issues that appear in a daily life of a hard of hearing person–ones that might easily slip past if one isn't paying attention, but they can make a whole world of difference. There's not a lot of disability representation in the fandom and pop culture, but maybe I'll be able to add my own brick to raising awareness.

Summary:

When Albus Dumbledore comes back to Hogwarts for his final year, two new developments are awaiting him: a Tournament For Young Talented Wizards and Witches, and a new Transmutation professor that catches his eye. Navigating blossoming feelings, the tournament tasks and the labyrinth of his own insecurities coming from his disability is not an easy thing, but Albus at least is not alone in this mess. And he has a guide goat to help him.

1.1 Of Frosting and Fantasies (SDL)

Curses. Madeleine Behr-Munch arrived home at 6:43p.m. on a Monday night in mid-spring. Her heel promptly sunk into the sagging wooden steps, a telltale sign of its age.  Her parents warned her against moving halfway around the world purchasing a fixer-upper home. As she maneuvered her foot out of the stairs, she began to regret ignoring their advice. She didn’t know a soul, save her nosy, but well-intentioned neighbor and this evening’s truly disastrous date. All the more reason to impatiently hustle up onto her porch. It was bad enough that she dipped out before dessert, her favorite course. No need to add to her humiliation by reliving the shameful details over the fence separating her property from the next.

Her less-than-charming dinner companion offered to drive her back while picking some spinach salad from between his slightly uneven teeth. As if she would entertain the man any longer. He had bad conversational skills, even worse manners, and he admitted during the main course that he was trapped in a loveless, sexless marriage. He was like a parched person in the desert looking at a watering hole in the distance. And Madeleine would not be this man’s cool reprieve. She squirmed in her seat, muttered a half-hearted excuse, and walked to the corner to catch the southbound trolley. The whole ride, she  lamented her luck, or lack thereof, and wondered why she didn’t dump her glass of ice water in his lap. She deserved better than becoming “the other woman.”
