Do I need another reason to hate this government?
Today I’m writing the entrance exam for med school (yes, I’m talking about NEET) and man these mfs have a fuck ton of idiotic rules:
- no patterned clothes
- no full sleeved tops (and if anyone does come with full sleeved shirt, security will not hesitate to rip the sleeve off)
- no earrings or any sort of accessories
- pants should not have pockets
How the hell does someone commit malpractice using patterned clothes??! What the fuck is this system
Almost everything I own currently is either full sleeved or patterned. Searched every nook and corner possible, and now I’ve settled with one of my dad’s t-shirts and some very unflattering leggings. I don’t mind it, but still this was too much trouble for something completely unnecessary. Also I’m too dumb to copy anything from anyone ever, so I’m not sure if I’m a real threat 😭😭😭
Another thing, reporting time is 11:00 am. Do you know when the exam is? 2:00 pm. Yeah. I’m spending a whole day at this place. Yay.
Believe me when I say I’m leaving this country as soon as I get the chance

Unravelling the NEET 2024 Scam
In the world of competitive exams, where dreams are determined on the outcome of a single test, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for aspiring medical students across India. Yet, the promise of a fair and meritocratic selection process was recently shattered by the shocking revelation of the NEET 2024 scam. This feature story delves deep into the intricate web of events surrounding the scandal, its profound impact on students and the education system, and the relentless pursuit of justice and reform.
What is NEET?
NEET was born out of the necessity to streamline the complex landscape of medical entrance exams in India. Introduced in 2013, it aimed to replace multiple state-level tests with a unified national examination, ensuring equal opportunity for all aspirants based on merit alone. For years, NEET stood as a symbol of integrity and fairness in admissions.Revelation of the scamThe tranquillity surrounding NEET was shattered in 2024 when reports of irregularities surfaced. Whispers of leaked question papers, exam-day fraud, and manipulated results began to spread like wildfire, shaking the very foundation of trust upon which the exam was built. Students, parents, and educators were left reeling from the implications of such deceit. Impact of the scam on the studentsFor the diligent students who poured heart and soul into preparing for NEET 2024, the fallout was devastating. Many had meticulously followed the rules, believing in the sanctity of a fair examination process, only to find their efforts undermined by the actions of a few unscrupulous individuals.
Dreams of a career in medicine were suddenly clouded by uncertainty and disillusionment. Its effect on the Education SystemBeyond the personal anguish, the NEET 2024 scam echoed through the corridors of the education system.
It spotlighted glaring loopholes in exam administration and underscored the urgent need for strict safeguards to prevent future malpractices. Questions arose about the reliability of standardized testing and its role in shaping the future of thousands of students.Measures taken by the AuthorityIn response to the crisis, authorities launched a rigorous investigation to identify those responsible and ensure accountability. Measures were swiftly implemented to support and strengthen exam security, enhance monitoring protocols, and impose stricter penalties for wrongdoing. Efforts to restore faith in the examination system and reassure stakeholders of its integrity were set in motion.
An awakening call to the societyThe NEET 2024 scam serves as a stark reminder of the fragile trust upon which educational institutions rest. It compels us, as a society, to demand unwavering integrity, transparency, and fairness in all aspects of education. As reforms take shape and investigations continue, the journey towards rebuilding trust and upholding the importance of meritocracy must be unwavering.
Amidst the turmoil, there is hope. Hope for a future where every aspiring student can pursue their dreams without fear of deceit or injustice. It is a collective responsibility to safeguard the sanctity of examinations like NEET and ensure that they remain true to their purpose of identifying and nurturing talent for the betterment of society.

Today in Politics: All Eyes on Modi Govt 3.0’s First Budget Against a Changed Political Backdrop
The political landscape is buzzing with anticipation as Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents the Union Budget for 2024–25. This marks the first budget under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term, a term characterized by a notable shift in political dynamics.
Tumblr media
The Political Shift
Unlike Modi’s previous terms, the BJP no longer holds a majority on its own and relies heavily on its NDA allies, particularly the TDP led by N Chandrababu Naidu and the JD(U) led by Nitish Kumar. This dependency adds an intriguing layer to this year’s budget, as both allies have outlined specific demands, including special category status (SCS) and special projects for their states, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
Anticipated Debates and Strategies
The three-week-long Budget session, which kicked off on Monday, promises to be contentious. This was evident during the customary all-party meeting on Sunday, where coalition politics took center stage. Allies and opposition parties alike have presented various demands, urging the government to adopt a new approach in Parliament.
Key discussions will focus on ministries of railways, education, health, MSME, and food processing in the Lok Sabha, with a 20-hour debate on the budget expected. The Rajya Sabha will have an eight-hour discussion on the Appropriation and Finance Bills and four-hour debates on four yet-to-be-identified ministries.
Opposition’s Strategy
The INDIA bloc, comprising Congress and other opposition parties, held a strategy meeting to outline their approach for the session. They plan to raise significant issues, including the NEET-UG paper leak case, the Agniveer scheme, and violence in Manipur. Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, emphasized the importance of addressing issues connected with the people during their discussions.
Telangana Assembly’s Budget Session
Meanwhile, the Telangana Assembly’s Budget session begins on Tuesday, with key issues such as crop loan waivers, unemployment, and political defections expected to dominate discussions. The Congress government, led by A Revanth Reddy, is set to present its first full budget after assuming power last December.
Supreme Court Hearing on NEET
In a related development, the Supreme Court has ordered IIT Delhi to investigate a contentious question from the NEET-UG 2024 exam, following allegations of a paper leak. The court is set to continue hearing multiple petitions on Tuesday, focusing on the extent of the alleged malpractice and its impact on the examination’s integrity.
Stay tuned as we follow these critical political developments and their implications for the country’s future.

Supreme Court Urges Caution on NEET Retest: 'Concrete Evidence' Required
In a significant development concerning the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the Supreme Court of India has taken a measured stance on the possibility of a retest. The apex court stated that any decision to conduct a fresh examination should be based on a "concrete footing" and not merely speculative grounds.
The NEET, which serves as the sole entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs across India, has been embroiled in controversy following allegations of widespread malpractice and paper leaks in several states. These claims have led to calls for a retest from various quarters, including student groups and political parties.
During the hearing, a bench headed by the Chief Justice of India emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities before considering a retest. The court observed, "We cannot disrupt the academic calendar and the futures of countless students based on unsubstantiated claims. Any decision for a retest must be founded on irrefutable evidence of large-scale malpractice."
The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting NEET, defended its examination process, asserting that adequate security measures were in place to prevent any breach. The agency's counsel argued that isolated incidents, if any, should not warrant a nationwide retest.
Representatives from the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Dental Council of India (DCI) also appeared before the court, stressing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the admission process while ensuring fairness to all candidates.
The court has directed central investigating agencies to expedite their probe into the alleged irregularities and submit a comprehensive report within four weeks. "We need a clear picture of the extent and nature of any malpractice before considering drastic measures like a retest," the bench stated.
This development has elicited mixed reactions from stakeholders. While some student organizations have welcomed the court's cautious approach, others express concern about potential delays in the admission process.
As the investigation unfolds, the Supreme Court's stance underscores the delicate balance between addressing concerns of exam integrity and safeguarding the interests of the vast majority of students who took the test in good faith. The court's emphasis on a "concrete footing" for any retest decision reflects its commitment to a fair and judicious resolution of the NEET controversy.

The scandal has not only disrupted the lives of countless aspiring medical students but has also raised serious questions about the integrity and security of the examination process. As the dust begins to settle, many are left wondering: What is the future of NEET exams after the 2024 controversy?
Tumblr media
The Immediate Aftermath
Student Reactions
The immediate reaction to the NEET 2024 paper leak was one of shock and outrage. Students, who had spent months preparing for the exam, felt their efforts were undermined. Protests erupted across the country, with students demanding a fair and transparent resolution. The stress and uncertainty caused by the controversy have taken a toll on the mental health of many aspirants.
Parental Concerns
Parents, too, were vocal in their concerns. They questioned the efficacy of the current examination system and demanded stringent measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The collective outcry from both students and parents highlighted the urgent need for reform.
Official Response
Formation of Investigative Bodies
In response to the NEET 2024 controversy, the National Testing Agency (NTA) quickly formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the leak. This team, comprising cybersecurity experts and law enforcement officials, was tasked with identifying the culprits and understanding how the breach occurred.
Assurance of Fairness
The NTA assured the public that a thorough investigation was underway and that strict action would be taken against those found guilty. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and restoring public trust.
Long-term Implications
Strengthening Security Measures
One of the most significant outcomes of the NEET 2024 controversy will likely be a comprehensive overhaul of the security measures surrounding the exam. This may include:
Digital Encryption: Implementing advanced encryption techniques for question papers to prevent unauthorized access.
Biometric Verification: Introducing biometric verification of candidates to ensure that only registered individuals can take the exam.
Enhanced Surveillance: Increasing surveillance at examination centers to deter any attempts at malpractice.
Policy Reforms
The controversy has highlighted the need for broader policy reforms to safeguard the integrity of competitive exams. These reforms may include:
Regular Audits: Conducting regular audits of the examination process to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
Transparent Protocols: Developing transparent protocols for handling and distributing question papers.
Legal Framework: Strengthening the legal framework to ensure that individuals involved in paper leaks face severe consequences.
Impact on Students
The NEET 2024 controversy has underscored the importance of a fair and transparent examination process. For students, this means that future exams will likely be conducted with heightened security measures, ensuring a level playing field for all candidates. While the controversy has caused significant stress and uncertainty, it also offers an opportunity for reforms that will benefit future aspirants.
Restoring Trust
Transparent Communication
To restore trust, the NTA and other educational authorities must prioritize transparent communication. Keeping students and parents informed about the progress of the investigation and the measures being taken to prevent future incidents is crucial. Regular updates and open communication will help rebuild confidence in the examination system.
Fair Resolutions
Ensuring that affected students are treated fairly is paramount. This may involve offering a re-examination or other compensatory measures to ensure that their efforts are recognized and rewarded. Demonstrating a commitment to fairness and justice will be key to restoring public trust.
Conclusion
The NEET 2024 controversy has been a wake-up call for the Indian educational system. While the immediate aftermath has been marked by outrage and uncertainty, it also presents an opportunity for meaningful reform. By implementing stringent security measures, adopting transparent protocols, and ensuring fair treatment for all candidates, authorities can restore faith in the NEET examination process. The future of NEET exams will depend on the lessons learned from this controversy and the steps taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur again. For the millions of aspiring medical students, the hope is that these reforms will lead to a more secure, transparent, and fair examination system.

NEET UG Controversy: Supreme Court Seeks Answer From NTA
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG, an essential gateway for aspiring medical and dental students in India, has recently been embroiled in controversy. The Supreme Court of India has intervened, seeking a response from the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding numerous allegations and irregularities reported during the NEET UG 2024 examination. This article delves into the key issues of the controversy and the implications of the Supreme Court's involvement.
Background of the NEET UG 2024 Controversy
Allegations of Malpractice
The NEET UG 2024 examination faced multiple allegations of cheating and malpractice. Reports surfaced about question papers being leaked and the use of electronic devices to facilitate cheating. These incidents have raised serious concerns about the integrity and fairness of the examination process, leading to widespread discontent among students and parents.
Technical Glitches
In addition to allegations of malpractice, the examination was marred by technical glitches. Many students reported difficulties in logging into the online examination system, experiencing slow or frozen screens, and abrupt terminations of their tests. These technical issues disrupted the examination process, leaving many candidates anxious about their performance and results.
Discrepancies in Question Papers
Another critical issue that has added to the controversy is the discrepancy in the difficulty levels of question papers provided to different sets of students. Variations in the content and complexity of the questions have been reported, raising questions about the uniformity and standardization of the examination. This inconsistency has led to calls for a re-examination to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.
Supreme Court's Involvement
Legal Petitions
In response to the mounting allegations and irregularities, several students and parents have filed petitions in various courts across India, seeking justice and demanding a re-exam. These petitions argue that the reported issues have compromised the fairness of the NEET UG 2024 examination, potentially disadvantaging many deserving candidates.
Supreme Court's Notice to NTA
Taking cognizance of the grievances, the Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA), seeking a comprehensive response to the allegations of malpractice, technical glitches, and discrepancies in question papers. The court has emphasized the need for a transparent and fair examination process and has directed the NTA to provide detailed explanations and remedial measures to address the concerns raised by the petitioners.
Potential Impact on Students
The Supreme Court's involvement has brought a glimmer of hope to the aggrieved students and parents, who are eagerly awaiting a resolution. However, the ongoing legal proceedings have also created a sense of uncertainty among the candidates. Preparing for NEET is an arduous process that demands months of dedicated study, and the prospect of a re-exam adds to the stress and anxiety faced by the students. Furthermore, any delay in the admission process could affect the academic calendar and disrupt the future plans of many aspiring medical professionals.
What Lies Ahead
NTA's Response and Accountability
The NTA's response to the Supreme Court's notice will be crucial in determining the next steps. The agency needs to address the allegations comprehensively and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to rectify the reported issues. Transparency and accountability will be key to restoring the trust of the candidates and stakeholders in the examination process.
Possible Outcomes
Depending on the NTA's response and the Supreme Court's assessment, several outcomes are possible. The court may order a re-exam if it finds substantial evidence of malpractice and irregularities, or it may direct the NTA to implement corrective measures to ensure fairness in the evaluation of the current exam. In either case, the priority will be to uphold the integrity of the NEET UG examination and protect the interests of the students.
Conclusion
The NEET UG 2024 controversy has highlighted significant challenges in the administration of one of India's most important entrance exams. The Supreme Court's intervention underscores the need for a transparent, fair, and reliable examination process. As the legal proceedings unfold, it is imperative for the NTA to address the concerns raised and take decisive action to ensure the credibility of NEET UG. The resolution of this controversy will be crucial in safeguarding the aspirations of countless students striving to pursue careers in medicine and dentistry.
