🍔 Updated review ━ 📍 Brooklyn Burger ★★★☆☆ • Brooklyn Burger opened their first restaurant in Huskvarna back in 2014, and can now also be found in Jönköping, Skövde and Nässjö. When we first visited them back in 2015 we ate a messily prepared hamburger, but after hearing that they'd improved we paid them a new visit at their grill kiosk in Nässjö's town centre. Their menu consists of 12 different burgers costing between 94 and 114 SEK (8.5–10.5 USD), including vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered their Mayo-Man with double cheddar, pickles, spicy ketchup, mustard, and mayo. During lunch hours our burger cost 109 SEK (10.5 USD) including french fries and a soft drink, and we also added an additional patty for an eye-watering 45 SEK (4.5 USD). • Our burger looked much better this time around, and we immediately started to look forward to our meal. The bun was soft and nicely toasted on the inside, just as we'd expected of an aspiring burger joint, but our first bite revealed that their house-ground beef was far too compact and chewy, and also rather under-seasoned. Thankfully the crust was really good, and we liked that part a lot. The long and thinly sliced pickles tasted nice, but were a bit unevenly distributed due to their cut. And after a while we also noticed that the bun had problems handling all the beef juices, and became flat and soggy towards the end of the meal. Overall, we felt that the flavours ought to have packed more of a punch in order to ascend to the next level. I studied animation for two years at Sörängens folkhögskola (/folk high school) in Nässjö, Sweden. It doesn't reaaaally put you in a place of being able to get work afterwards, but it's still the best school I've ever got the pleasure of going to. I learned a LOT about animation. And the actual place is to die for, it's such a beautiful school!

Idk if I'd recommend it if you're looking for a high-grade art education, but I do very much recommend it for it's overflowing charms.

If you're looking for forests to visit, come to Sweden and do some hiking in the summer! We got forests all over, but I recommend the ones up north and inland the most, they're HUGE! But the coast offers some beautiful scenery as well. It doesn't have as much forests, but still worth a visit :>

IN LATE AUGUST 2012 A notice was published in the Swedish local newspaper Smålands-Tidningen. This is what is said:

A piece of paper burned in Nässjö NÄSSJÖ A piece of paper lying on the ground burned in central Nässjö on Friday evening. Someone had lit the piece of paper on fire and left it on the ground. The burning paper was found and extinguished by a person who lived in a nearby house. (Smålands-Tidningen, aug. 2012) (Text translated by author)

If you had a Facebook-account in late 2012 and if you were a Swede, the chances of you seeing this in your feed was pretty big. This notice, according to Swedish newspaper Resumé (2012), had been shared thousands of times on different social medias. 

Resumé och Expressen (2012) – another Swedish newspaper – both contacted Smålandstidningens editor-in-chief and publisher Mats Ottosson. In the interview with Expressen Ottosson explained the publishing of the notice was a mistake. “[...] we must publish things that are relevant and of course, it is not a burning piece of paper. Something like this is never meant to be in the paper.”

However, the question is how was this published? Ottosson’s answers the question in the two before-mentioned articles. In the Resumé article, he said the text was a “classic local newspaper miss” as a result of the summer’s news drought. But, in the Expressen article, he means it had nothing to do with news drought, while at the same time clapping back at other news media.

“No, it is not due to a news drought, there will never be such a news drought” means Ottosson. He adds, however, that one can wonder if there is a general news drought, given the attention the notice has received. (Expressen, 21 aug. 2012) (translated by author)
