SOFT MEN LEAGUE BLOG YAS YASSS softer than the marshmallows that I like to eat (and they are soft already) And aww that sounds so sweet ❤️ Being introduced to new and awesome stuff is couple goals hehe
Besties with no secrets is such a cool dynamic; I bet reader and MC both secretly crave platonic affection because MC didn’t seem to have a best friend before arriving at the mansion (it’s okay reader is here now). And imagine when Mozart expresses his wish for MC not to leave and reader is trying to hold in their laughter knowing that MC has already decided to stay (but paying Mozart back for what he did to MC at the start is so worth it lmaoo)
Aah I can already imagine them at each other’s weddings and doing speeches 🥺 I wonder who’s getting married first though hehe
And hmm Sebastian in my dream was a drawing (like in the game) but the thing is he was actually moving around like a real person. I don’t know how to describe it because I wasn’t a drawing but Sebastian was and my brain just decided that it was normal sjskcijsjw
Omg lucky you 😩 making out with Isaac in a car is such a good dream (your brain is a genius for coming up with these scenarios) and 3D Todoroki Shouto? That sounds rather interesting; he was always like a drawing in my dreams ahaha but I guess our dreams are weird most of the time
By the way I also found out that the MC’s name in Ikemen Vampire was Mitsuki?!! It’s a pretty name but I wished I knew about it sooner 😭 now I need some Mitsuki x reader fics because she’s honestly so pretty

Yeeess! We also stan good and healthy relationships in here! 🤍
MC seems a bit lonely, they all kinda do. Don't even make me start talking about Mystic Messenger MC. If I'm not wrong, I think Alice from ikerev had a friend? I don't remember exactly, I didn't play much (and guess who I liked best from the routes I played? Luka). But for them to choose to stay there, I guess they didn't have family or friends. And now we're all sad 🥹
Yeeeaaah, Isaac was like the artstyle from the game, but he moved normally, ASHIEUHASEUISA. Todoroki dream was nice... I was Ochako (: I used to watch and read BNHA, and write lots of fanfic. Ochabowl was (still is?) my religion 🛐
I didn't know that either! It's like the default name? I always change to Mina, and if they ask for last name is Kirishima. Also from the time I loved BNHA and Ashido Mina and Kirishima were my favorite 🤍

Surprises: Vanderwood x MC | Mysme RBB fic
Hi guys! I’m sure you’ve seen this project in the fandom, there are a lot of talented artists and writers who are a part of it ^^ This piece is for the @mysme-rbb and it was such a thrill to write it! I’ve missed writing for the fandom and I’m glad I got this opportunity to do so <3 Even luckier that I got paired with two amazing artists!
For this first collab, I got paired with the wonderful GLX ! Please check out their instagram HERE! We’re super lucky to have collaborated on a character we both love: Vanderwood! So I hope you enjoy the story and I hope I can write for everyone again soon ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ PS: I’ll edit this post with the link to the art once it’s out! ^^
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Surprises
In collaboration with gl.artsy
"Hurry!"
Vanderwood chuckles and closes the car door, hoisting bags and baskets on his arms and shoulders. MC laughs and hugs the beach towels to her chest, grinning widely.
"Sorry...I'm a little excited," her grin turns sheepish but Vanderwood shakes his head, his smile mirroring her own. Seeing her this happy makes him feel things he hasn't felt before --pleasant feelings. Feelings...that a secret agent just doesn't have the luxury to be thinking about, much less feel. But he's not a secret agent anymore --he has a legal job now, one where he doesn't have to risk his life everyday or dirty his hands. Hell, the dirtiest his hands can get with his new job as Jumin's bodyguard is cleaning up after his cat.
With his free hand, he reaches for hers and weaves their fingers together.
Today is their one-year anniversary and Vanderwood wants everything to be absolutely perfect. He's not one for grand gestures and romantic stuff, but he knows celebrations like these matter to girls.
In the past year he's been with MC, he's gotten used to watching those cheesy romantic chick flicks. Never in his life did he imagine he'd be forced to watch those kinds of shi--stuff. But he's braved through The Notepad, A Stroll to Remember, Crazy Silly Love...and he's learned a lot from those movies. For one, his girlfriend ends up crying every time they watch the shows together.
Every. Single. Time.
But he'd see how immersed she is in the scenes where the guys make a big move for the girl. Vanderwood would notice how she heaves a deep sigh and wipes her eyes, a dreamy smile on her face.
Ha...he's new to this relationship thing but he's not stupid; Vanderwood knows how this works. The bigger the gesture, the happier MC will be...
...right?
He's startled out of his thoughts when MC tugs his hand, pointing at a spot on the beach. "Over there! There's a free spot there!"
Vanderwood follows after MC and starts setting up their towels and beach umbrella. This is the first step in his grand surprise for MC today: spend the morning at the beach, a place MC rarely went to. The excited look on her face is all the confirmation he needs; he did good, choosing this as the start of their date.
MC sits on the towel under the shade of the umbrella and takes off her wide-brimmed hat, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. When she opens them, she turns to Vanderwood. "Baby, this is perfect. The skies are clear, there's a breeze and there's not much people; it's almost like we have the beach to ourselves!"
Vanderwood chuckles, sitting beside his girlfriend and reaching out to tuck her hair behind her ear. "You like it?"
At his touch, she blushes and smiles, nodding her head. "I do, Vanderwood. I really do."
He leans forward, lips quirking up into a smirk. "Good...that's real good, MC." Vanderwood can see the blush on her face deepening as he inches closer and his own heart races, eyes darting to her slightly-parted lips. As he draws nearer though, he hears a whooshing sound through the air and a distant yell: "LOOK OUT!"
His reflexes kick in and Vanderwood pulls MC against his chest then pins her against the ground, using his body to shield her from whatever it is --MC doesn't even have the time to process what's happening. But she feels herself warming, eyes fixated on Vanderwood's tense expression, at the way he's hovering on top of her, holding her protectively against him.
A second later, their umbrella is knocked over and a spray of sand flies across Vanderwood's back. He turns away and shields MC's eyes, a million thoughts already flying through his mind.
"Could it be that some agents found me? How many are there? How am I gonna get MC safely to the car? The taser's in the bag, if I could just reach it in time
"Vanderwood turns his head to look for the target-
-when his eyes fall to the white volleyball lying on the sand near them.
"Sorry! I'm so sorry, that's my fault!!!" A kid with blonde hair is running up to them, waving his hand and trying to bow at the same time. Vanderwood's eyes narrow. Wait a minute...isn't that-
"Yoosung?" comes MC's voice.
Sure enough, Yoosung's purple eyes widen as recognition dawns and he laughs, running faster. Right behind him is the silver-haired actor and Jaehee Kang, all dressed in their beachwear. Zen smiles when he spots the two familiar faces but it only lasts for a second --the moment he realizes the position the couple are in...
"YA!!! Vanderwood! What are you doing!" Zen glares at Vanderwood, pointing an accusatory finger at the Silver Spoon's bodyguard. Vanderwood narrows his gaze at the actor but hurriedly straightens himself, his face feeling warm.
"Baby, are you okay?"
"I am...what was that all about?" MC takes Vanderwood's hand and he pulls her up just as Yoosung stops in front of them, a sheepish smile on his face.
"Sorry! Zen hit the ball too hard and I received it wrong so it went flying...I didn't know it would end up here where you guys are! I didn't even know you two were going to be here too!"
Vanderwood rubs the back of his neck, wishing they'd leave him and MC alone. It's not that he doesn't like them, but today he'd like MC all for himself. "Ha...yeah, what a coincidence."
"Ya, you!" Zen jabs a finger at Vanderwood's chest, eyes blazing. "What the heck was that!"
Vanderwood looks at Zen with a deadpan look on his face. "I thought there was a threat, so I was defending my girlfriend. Will you stop having perverted thoughts?"
MC giggles. "It's true, Zen! He was just trying to protect me~"
"That's very quick thinking." Jaehee pipes in, picking up the ball. "I suppose that's what makes you a great bodyguard, Vanderwood."
"Ha...thanks." Vanderwood feels awkward still, but for an ex-agent with no family and no friends...his life's shaping out real good. Still, friends or not, he wants these people to go away and let him pamper his girlfriend. "So, now that that's settled-"
"OH! Why don't you two join us in a game of volleyball? Please!!! I'm tired of picking up the ball all the time!" Yoosung begs them, hands pressed together in front of him.
"Aww, that sounds fun! We're game, right, baby?" MC says, winking at Vanderwood. To the others, she says, "The two of us will be in a team against you guys! You'll see, Vanderwood will carry our team!"
Vanderwood can't help but feel proud at MC's words. Okay...maybe one game of volleyball wouldn't hurt. After that, they'll go back to their spot and maybe he can go swimming with MC, or get some cool drinks.
~
Yoosung, Jaehee and Zen stayed with them the entire time. After volleyball, they took MC and Vanderwood to their rented cabin and shared their meal. Vanderwood and Zen ended up grilling meat and seafood for the rest but it was actually fun. The non-stop chatter and laughs, the volleyball games, seeing MC enjoy herself --okay okay, it's not so bad that their first date got interrupted. But of course, Vanderwood has more tricks up his sleeves.
A long drive and a shower later, Vanderwood and MC change into more semi-formal attire as he drives them to one of the fancy restaurants in town. The restaurant is situated atop a building, with the entire floor encased in glass windows so guests can dine with a view overlooking South Korea. It's fine dining and Vanderwood has never been to a classy restaurant while off-duty; to be honest, something like this kinda suits Jumin Han more...but Vanderwood doesn't want to take MC to their regular dining spots. No, for this special day she deserves something special too.
As they're led to their seats by the hostess, Vanderwood once again intertwines his fingers with hers. "I heard this place has the best seoullangtang."
MC tugs at his hand, looking at him with narrowed eyes. "Baby, this place is really expensive...you didn't have to."
Ha...oh no, doesn't she like it?
"It's our anniversary," he tells her, lifting their hands and then turning hers so he can kiss the back of it. "Don't even think about that, baby."
MC turns red at Vanderwood's blatant display of affection. Usually, he's more reserved and careful when they're in public; she assumed it's because of his past and she didn't mind. But today, he's been more touchy and showy...MC has to admit, it's giving her heart a pleasant workout. They're seated right by the window and Vanderwood is the perfect gentleman, pulling her chair out for her and helping her onto her seat. MC feels shy all of a sudden as Vanderwood slides into his seat across her. With the dim lighting from the restaurant, the candle in the middle of the table casts Vanderwood's face in a warm glow and MC unconsciously swallows, entranced by him.
Their previous dates were never this fancy and she's not complaining --she loves wherever they are, be it the beach or the supermarket, a fancy restaurant or McFonald's. As long as they're together, she's happy.
But seeing her boyfriend all dressed up in a crisp button-down shirt and a coat, hair tied into a half-ponytail, brown eyes staring at her --she can't help but feel the depth and seriousness of their relationship. Today is their anniversary, which means she's spent 365 days with this man...more than that, of course. Ever since they met, her days have been full of color and life. MC reaches across the table for his hand and holds it tightly in hers.
"I love you, Vanderwood."
Vanderwood's glad it's kinda dark because his heart does that weird little thing and he feels his cheeks burn as a smile spreads across his face. "I love you too, MC."
She mirrors his smile and it's strange but MC feels like she did the first time she met him in person, nervous and intimidated, but at the same comforted by his presence and intrigued. This once mysterious man is hers and though she knows she's barely scratched the surface of all that he is, she can't wait to learn more about him everyday, for the rest of their lives.
"Baby, order whatever you like, okay? Haha, don't be worrying about the prices." Vanderwood says as they open their menus. MC's eyes are skimming through the dishes (half of which she can't even pronounce because they're in different languages) when she hears the sound of a familiar voice.
"I didn't expect to see you both here this evening."
Vanderwood tenses. No freaking way...
But he's been hanging around that voice for months now and he'd recognize it anywhere --his boss, Jumin Han. Vanderwood reluctantly looks at the man standing beside their table, the leader of the RFA at his side. Jihyun at least looks apologetic for barging into their date.
"Jumin! Jihyun! What a coincidence!" MC exclaims happily, smiling at them. Truth be told, she was looking forward to spending more alone time with her boyfriend, but she also doesn't want to be rude to her friends. "Did you guys just arrive?"
"Yes. A business colleague recommended this place. I would have asked for a private room but Jihyun preferred to stay close to the windows."
Jihyun laughs good-naturedly at Jumin's words. "This place is popular for their stunning view of the city, after all. We should get going to our table, Jumin, let's not bother them..."
"Have a good time, boss, Jihyun." Vanderwood gives them a little wave. "Nonsense. We haven't seen MC in a while. Perhaps we should ask for a bigger table and dine together."
You've got to be kidding me.
"Jumin-" Jihyun tries to interrupt, but Jumin is already gesturing for the host. In mere minutes, Vanderwood and MC are seated with Jihyun and Jumin. Of course...it's not all that bad. He didn't have to be so formal with his boss since they're outside of work, and Jumin knew his way around the menu; the meal Jumin ordered for them was mouth-wateringly delicious. Vanderwood had no idea which ones were good, so he's grateful for that part, at least.
But seriously...this was starting to get annoying. Would the RFA be popping up at his planned dates with MC? Vanderwood represses a sigh though, and fights the itch for a cigarette.
They enjoy their meal and, realizing he has no choice but to endure it, Vanderwood relaxes and allows himself to enjoy the company.
All of a sudden, they're bathed in a hue of colors and MC's eyes turn to the windows, widening with surprise. The sky is lit up by fireworks --something Vanderwood had arranged for. Her eyes are bright and her smile is priceless. As the fireworks paint the night sky with streaks of brilliant color, MC feels a peace inside her, knowing that's exactly what she was thinking of moments before. Vanderwood is like the scene outside, illuminating her life with the most dazzling colors.
And while MC gazes at the beautiful display, Vanderwood stares, enchanted, at the woman who brought light to his life.
~
The last stop of the evening is the last showing of the latest romance movie, a movie MC has been waiting for. Vanderwood settles into their comfortable lazy boy couches, glad he paid for these seats.
"I'm so excited, I've heard a lot of good reviews already!" MC whispers to him, leaning close. Vanderwood chuckles.
"Baby, it's gonna be amazing." He leans closer to her, stealing a quick kiss in the dark theater. MC bites her lower lip as he pulls away, wanting to tell him how much she loves him. But the movie starts and MC has to stop herself from squealing in excitement. She keeps her hand locked with his, eyes focused on the screen.
Vanderwood feels relaxed now, knowing no one can interrupt them, knowing he can enjoy this moment with his girlfriend and sneak glances at her cute reactions.
But just thinking those thoughts has jinxed the situation. The doors to the cinema creak open and Vanderwood picks up the sound of popcorn bags and two hushed whispers. He glances at the empty seats beside him and sighs.
"Oh! If it isn't Mary and MC!"
Vanderwood curses inwardly and almost slaps his hand to his face. No. No freaking way. No damn way.
But after some shuffling sounds, Saeyoung plops down on the seat beside Vanderwood with Saeran occupying the other.
"Ohoho, I didn't know you were into romance movies, Vandy~" Saeyoung whispers before leaning forward in his seat and waving at MC. "Hi, MC! Thanks for restarting this guy's heart! If you ask me, you should have used a tase-"
"Ya! Shut up!" Vanderwood says, a little too loudly. The audience shushes him and Vanderwood slinks into his seat while Saeyoung covers his laughs with a hand.
For the duration of the movie, Vanderwood has to put up with Saeyoung's reactions and his hushed side comments. At some point, popcorn starts to fly towards the brown-haired man too, bouncing off his hair. Saeran shakes his head, heaving a sigh as Saeyoung takes another popcorn and throws it subtly to Vanderwood. The ex-agent was ready though; he catches the popcorn and throws it back to Saeyoung, who slides down his chair dramatically.
"I've been hit...Saeran ah, save yourself~~~"
Vanderwood glances at MC's face to watch her reaction and he's surprised to see her eyes fixed on him. She's biting her lower lip, trying to stop herself from laughing. Vanderwood smirks, reaching out and freeing her lower lip from her bite.
"You want a shot at the idiot?" Vanderwood murmurs near her ear. MC nods and takes a piece of popcorn then tosses it to Saeyoung, who's crawling up his chair as quiet as he can.
Saeyoung gasps and flops back down on the ground, holding his chest as though he's wounded.
"Sneak attack! Saeran, help m-"
"No."
"Okay no ;;;;"
~
Vanderwood stirs, stretching his arms above his head with a yawn.
Damn, what time is it?
Yesterday felt so long --with all that happened, Vanderwood feels exhausted and a little disappointed at himself for failing MC. Everything should have been perfect, but as luck would have it, the RFA just had to meddle in all his plans.
He lays in bed, blinking away his sleepiness, wondering if he can do anything today to salvage their anniversary. Absently, he reaches beside him, wanting to pull MC to his side and wake her up with kisses --but his hands come up blank.
"What the-?"
His head whips to the empty space beside him and Vanderwood sits up just as the door opens. MC comes in, balancing a small tray table filled with food.
"Baby, what are you doing?" Vanderwood asks, bewildered. He starts to move from the bed but MC makes a sound and continues moving towards him.
"No no, you stay right there," she says, eyes staring at the orange juice sloshing inside the glass. "Don't get off the bed, baby!"
Vanderwood freezes, unsure what's happening. Finally, MC lays the tray table on the bed and beams at Vanderwood. "Happy anniversary, baby!"
The brown-haired man blinks, surprised. Then a soft chuckle escapes his lips. "MC, baby...did you do all this for me?"
MC shrugs, her smile wide enough to light up the room. "Maybe~"
She carefully sits on the bed closest to Vanderwood, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Baby, yesterday was amazing! I wasn't expecting those surprises at all."
Vanderwood's brows furrow. "What do you mean..? MC...I...was gonna apologize-"
"What? For what?"
Vanderwood awkwardly scratches his cheek, not sure what to say. "Uh...ha, 'coz I didn't intend for the RFA to show up. And I mean, anniversaries aren't supposed to be celebrated like that...right? The movies we watched, the celebrations ain't like that."
Giggling, MC leans towards her boyfriend and kisses his cheek. "Oh Vanderwood, it was perfect. I had so much fun, even more so because our friends were with us celebrating our special day with us.
Without the RFA, you and I would have met in a different way. But I like our love story, because everything that has happened so far has led us to this moment, baby." She holds his hands, cheeks turning red. "I loved watching you play volleyball and grill our lunch, I loved listening to you talk with our friends, I loved catching my boyfriend all dressed up to take me on a fancy dinner, and I loved that you sat through another romance movie with me, all the while having a popcorn battle with Saeyoung."
MC squeezes his hands and all of Vanderwood's doubts vanish; his eyes fix on her, his heart beating loudly against his chest.
"Vanderwood...the girls in those movies we watch get one big gesture per movie but I got three amazing dates in one day. My friends were there to celebrate a special day with me: the anniversary of the day I promised forever to the love of my life. And I-"
Before MC could finish her speech, Vanderwood closes the gap between them and meets her lips for a kiss, pulling her close to him without toppling over the tray. MC's hands clutch the front of his shirt and her eyes close, her body tingling as he pours his emotions into their kiss.
"MC," Vanderwood says breathlessly, leaning his forehead against hers, "I love you. I'll keep takin' you out for dates, keep celebrating this day with you every year. 'Coz it's the day you and I got together, the day my life started to make more sense..." He gives her another peck and pulls her closer, stroking her cheek with his thumb. "But every day you remind me that there's more to life than fighting and running. Every day, I wanna see you smile and hear you tell me you love me."
MC giggles and wraps her arms around him. "I love you, Vanderwood." She lays her head on his chest, feeling the strong beat of his heart, a heart that's tied to hers. "Yesterday was amazing but today I'm keeping you all to myself."
Vanderwood chuckles, reaching for a piece of bacon and holding it near her lips. MC takes a small bite from it and Vanderwood takes a larger chunk. "You and me all day, huh?"
MC nods, reaching for her phone. "You and me, all day, everyday." She holds the phone away from them, opening the camera app. "Happy anniversary, baby~"

Bad Day - MC x Mystic Messenger Headcanons
So I’ve been having a really tough time these last few days and have just kinda been either very detached, emotional, cranky or random mixtures of everything so I wanted to write some headcanons about how the MysMe characters would react in hope of making me feel a little better. I hope you enjoy!!
There’s brief mention of nudity in Jumin’s and Saeyoung’s but nothing’s sexual I promise.
Masterlist
Yoosung
Honestly he didn’t even realize you were having a rough night
When you got back to his apartment, he was working on homework and after dinner he went to play LOLOL
So when he turned to you after a win, hoping to celebrate, and saw you with tears silently tracking down your cheeks, his heart stopped
“Ohmygosh MC are you alright? What’s the matter??”
Immediately pulls you into his arms and rocks you back and forth until you calm down
Won’t push you to talk, but if you want to, will listen patiently
If you feel like talking, he’ll paint your nails for you while he listens
He’s not good at it but you love that he tries
Will snuggle you forever if you just want that
He just wants to do whatever it takes to make you the most comfortable possible
Zen
As soon as he got home from rehearsal, he knew something was off
You just seemed more quiet and retracted more than usual
Won’t bring it up for a while, not wanting to push you
So when you crawl into his lap when he’s practicing lines, he immediately puts aside what he’s doing and just holds you silently, rubbing your back calmingly
“Do you want to talk about it, jagi?”
Buries his face in your neck as you hold onto him tightly
Carries you to bed as you cling to him like a koala
When you’re snuggled in together, you tell him about what’s bothering you
Even if it seems silly in your eyes, Zen always tries to find solutions to the problems
If there’s no solution, then he just listens and tells you how sorry he is that you’ve had a bad day
He just wants to make you happy and when he can’t it makes him sad too
Jaehee
This poor woman is already stressed out from work
So when you seem to be distancing yourself, she panics
Goes over in her head everything she’s done the last few days to see if she could have caused it
Calls you on her lunch break (if she has one) and asks you what’s going on
You immediately tell her and she talks things through with you as calmly as possible
Picks up your favorite food and candy on her way home to surprise you
It warms her heart when she sees you smile when she hands you the bag
Instead of finishing her work on the kitchen table that night, she does it on the couch with your head resting on her shoulder
Jumin
He’s honestly completely oblivious until he finds you crying on the bathroom floor
Enter panic mode
“Are you hurt?? What happened?”
Jumin completely understands having bad days, and wants to do anything he can to make you happy since you were there for him before when he was struggling
Draws a bubble bath for the both of you and you sit in between his legs, your back against his chest and just drink wine together as he holds you and he tells you about his day, even if they’re stupid things
Hearing him talk just makes you feel very calm
He dries you off and wraps you in the fluffiest bathrobe you own
While you’re changing into pajamas, he makes you some hot chocolate
You both sit together on the couch, watching your favorite movies until you fall asleep together, Elizabeth 3rd snuggled in between the both of you
Saeyoung
Your robot cat notified him that something was wrong
He immediately stopped work when he read the message, going to find you
Finds you in your shared bedroom scrolling through your phone
“What do you want?”
“MC, robot cat told me you were upset.”
That made you laugh because coming from anyone else, that would sound ridiculous
“I guess I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning”
“Well let’s nap and then wake up on the right side of the bed”
This boy gathers every blanket in the house that he can find and bundles the two of you up
With the feel of his naked skin against yours, you quickly fell asleep
No, you guys didn’t do the do, you both just like feeling as close to each other as possible
When you woke up, you were still in Saeyoung’s arms and he was watching you
When you smiled and kissed him softly, he knew everything was better
Jihyun
He picks up on the fact that you’re upset right away
Without letting on that he knows, he takes you to his art studio
Sets up a huge canvas against the wall and hands you a paintbrush and various buckets of paint
“Throw the paint. It’ll help.”
You don’t believe him at first, but surprisingly it does help make you feel better
You accidentally flung the paint back one time and you heard it splatter, turning around and seeing the man you love with yellow paint on his face and in his hair
He looks good in yellow, you’d have to make a note to buy him some yellow shirts sometime
You shrieked and giggled as he picked up another paint brush, splattering you with some orange
Most of the paint ended up on both of you instead of the canvas
But when he pressed you up against the canvas as he kissed you, his handprints and yours mixing together, he had to admit that it was his favorite work of art, besides you of course
Saeran
He’s the king of being moody so when you sass him, he’s taken aback
“What did I do?” as he follows you around like a lost puppy
You know rationally that he didn’t even really do anything, you were just cranky
But also the fact that he was following you around was annoying so you continued to ignore him
Poor bb was so confused
Leaves you alone as you stress clean the house, making sure to stay out of your way
Makes sure to have dinner ready for when you’re done
As he’s stirring the pasta, you wrap your arms around him from behind
“I’m sorry I was cranky, I guess I’m having a bad day”
Makes sure to cater to your needs the entire night, even if that just means holding you while you read a book, him watching tv
He just loves you a lot ok

It's international women day and I decided to spoil my novel about a point on otoge and reverse harem heroines.
Why are they so liked?
Because they are kind.
But not just kind. They're accommodating. They erase themselves to help the male lead. They are there to assist them, help them, fix them.
It's mostly on main route that her character will play more. In some game.
But most of the time it's pretty one sided. And we get back not a concept I talk a lot.
The notion of respect.
The mc have to endure and persevere it's usually the quality they all have. Even in love. Even when the love interest to them.
They never have enough. Go "I quit". Storm out of the room after have been called a morons and ridiculed once again. They get used to whatever treatment, they endure, they stay compassionate and obviously the guy love her.
Hateful fangirls always say "why do they love her?! She's stupid, she's plain, she's clumsy-" well that's for that reason.
Because they will always be the perfect little wife for the love interest.
Of course it doesn't apply to all of them.
But the principal reason why they're such waifus material is because... They literally have to act like a wife first by prioritizing the love interest.
They can't feel negative emotions or if they do it's used to blame themselves. They especially can't be angry, and rightfully so, against a love interest. Never! Only self hatred because that's so much more noble.
For this day, I remember how Mysme managed to mostly promote this mindset of prioritizing sane choice over just pleasing the love interest. You could soothe Yoosung by saying that you are Rika. Or you could help him to grieve by saying that she is gone.
In this game you have the option to actually be bad which make it still great despite the later choice. Being the responsible for a bad ending because of your comportment is rare as I can see.
There's need to be more game like mysme and our life where the mc get to be human. To feel other emotions. To not always be accommodating to the love interest and erase themselves for it.
I want to see mc saying to the love interest to fuck off until he stop his bullshit more. That would be cathartic.
Enough self sacrifice.
More self respect.
Let the mcs be diverse.
Because not all women are like that and also because the same kind of mc is just boring. And I won't like them just because they are supposed to be me.
And I am tired of seeing the mc be mistreated and just take it.

MysMe Characters as Songs From Musicals
I am almost certain this must have been done before hahah, so I’m in no way claiming this is an original idea. These are just some of my Sunday afternoon thoughts which I felt like sharing😅💛 I gave everyone two songs bc I’m indecisive LOL
Zen
Kiss The Girl - The Little Mermaid (just made me think of the the VN when they’re on the roof watching the stars)
There, you see her Sitting there, across the way She don't got a lot to say, but there's something about her And you don't know why, but you're dyin' to try You wanna kiss the girl
Lay All Your Love On Me - Mamma Mia! (almost chose this for Jumin, but it’s just so ~sexy~ that I couldn’t not give it to Zen ;))
I wasn't jealous before we met Now every man that i see is a potential threat And i'm possessive, it isn't nice You've heard me saying that smoking was my only vice
Yoosung
When She Loved Me - Toy Story (okay not really a musical but sHUSH. I use this completely unironically for his relationship with Rika. He got hurt bad, guys)
So the years went by I stayed the same But she began to drift away I was left alone Still I waited for the day When she'd say, "I will always love you"
Proud of Your Boy - Aladdin (for when he meets MC and starts to get back on track. Courtesy of @sunshinejihyun <3)
You'll see, ma, now comes the better part Someone's gonna make good cross his stupid heart Make good and finally make you Proud of your boy
(everyone else under the cut!)
Jaehee
I Won’t Say I’m In Love - Hercules (when Baehee friend zones you but you just tell yourself she’s pulling a Megara. This is her at all of us fools)
No chance no way I won't say it, no no (Give up, give in, check the grin you're in love) This scene won't play I won't say I'm in love (We'll do it until you admit you're in love) You're way off base I won't say it Get off my case I won't say it
She Used to Be Mine - Waitress (bby works too hard and loses a part of herself. The first lines remind me of how she has to dress/act a certain way in order to work for Jumin...)
It's not simple to say Most days I don't recognize me These shoes and this apron That place and its patrons Have taken more than I gave 'em
Jumin
Something There - Beauty and the Beast (everyone’s shocked to see what love does to Jumin <3)
There's something sweet and almost kind But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined And now he's dear and so unsure I wonder why I didn't see it there before
Come What May - Moulin Rouge (JUMIN is shocked to see what love does to Jumin <33)
Never knew I could feel like this Like I've never seen the sky before I want to vanish inside your kiss Every day I love you more and more
Listen to my heart Can't you hear it sings Telling me to give you everything
Saeyoung
I’d Give My Life For You - Miss Saigon (you’re telling me this ain’t him @/ Saeran before he left him with V and Rika? lemme just clean up the shards of my broken heart off the floor one second)
You will be who you want to be You Can choose whatever heaven grants As long as you can have your chance I swear I'll give my life for you
If I Could Tell Her - Dear Evan Hansen (him in every route that isn’t his. And in his as well tbh. Just him all of the time)
But he kept it all inside his head What he saw he left unsaid
If I could tell her Tell her everything I see If I could tell her How she's everything to me
But we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start If I could tell her
and a BONUS because apparently I like tears:
With You - Ghost (for the reset theory)
Every place we ever walked and Everywhere we talked, I miss you You never leave my mind So much of you is left behind
Jihyun
Words Fail - Dear Evan Hansen (this whole thing made me said listening back to it with Jihyun in mind. Now you can be sad too :))
I never meant to make it such a mess I never thought that it would go this far So I just stand here sorry Searching for something to say Something to say Words fail, words fail There's nothing I can say
Falling Slowly - Once (okay that’s better cmon MC show him the love he dESERVES DANGIT. To me this screams Jihyun x MC during his route)
You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice You've made it now
Saeran
Where Is Love? - Oliver! (this initially made me think of Ray during V’s route when he misses MC ouchouchoUCH but I think it could apply to Saeran before Ray too)
Where is she Who I close my eyes to see? Will I ever know the sweet hello That's meant for only me?
I Dreamed a Dream - Les Miserables (no comment. You know what’s up. The lyrics speak for themselves, he’s just waiting for his brother and losing all hope😭)
And still I dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather I had a dream my life would be So different from this hell I'm living So different now from what it seemed Now life has killed the dream I dreamed
Rika
(for these you kinda have to view them in a twisted sort of way. I’m not saying the characters who sing these songs are like Rika, I can just imagine Rika singing these lyrics in a different context)
I’m Not That Girl - Wicked (when MC arrives and she realises that, after all she’s done wrong, she’s no longer that girl)
Don't wish, don't start Wishing only wounds the heart I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl There's a girl I know He loves her so I'm not that girl
Good For You - Dear Evan Hansen (and despite realising she’s no longer that girl, she decides to blame everyone but herself...especially Jihyun because, for once, he didn’t choose her)
And you say what you need to say So that you get to walk away It would kill you to have to stay trapped When you've got something new Well I'm sorry I had it rough And I'm sorry I'm not enough Thank God they rescued you
~
I hope you enjoyed hahah, if you have any other songs that you would have chosen for a character do let me know!! so glad I spent my Sunday doing this instead of uni work OOPS
Have a lovely day!!💛

She needed to get away from him, that apartment, everything, even just for a few minutes.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
”I told you not to bother me!”
“I don’t care about your feelings, alright?!”
His words cut deeper and deeper into her heart as they replayed in her mind. She knew he was struggling, and she knew that he was holding something back, but there was only so much she could take.
He’d gone out into the hallway to work, but when she’d left the apartment in tears, he didn’t even notice. She needed to get away from him, that apartment, everything, even just for a few minutes.
She hadn’t checked the weather before she’d left, but she’d known it would be cold and took her jacket. It was drizzling lightly, and every sheet of soft rain that hit her chilled her more and more.
She let her feet guide her, not thinking twice about the turns she took or the few people she passed. The streetlamps helped illuminate the dark pavement, but after a while of walking, she realized she was completely immersed in darkness. She glanced around, wiping a stray tear from her cheek with a frigid hand and trying to think if she recognized any buildings. It wasn’t as if she wanted to go back so soon, but being lost was another problem she didn’t need added to her already long list.
When she patted her pockets for her phone, she came up empty, and she felt her stomach drop painfully. There was nothing left for her to do but to try and find her way back. She hoped the extra time away would help calm her down, but the possibility of someone following her popped into her mind and kept her on edge as she tried to retrace her steps.
Her tears had dried and the rain had let up after a while, but she was shivering and exhausted. She could see the light of a streetlamp in the distance, but as she began to move towards it, she heard rapid footsteps approaching her.
Her heart leapt into her throat, and she moved quickly to press herself behind the nearest wall, willing her heart to stop pounding in her ears. She tried to listen, hearing whoever it was get closer and eventually slow down. She held her breath, pressing her hand against her mouth and praying for them to leave.
She waited for what seemed like hours in silence until she finally heard something that she thought she might have imagined.
“MC?” they called, making her flinch in shock. But when she realized the voice was Seven’s, she exhaled quietly, stepping around the corner.
He looked completely terrified, and his eyes were blown wide as he gaped at her. His shoulders suddenly dropped with a dramatic exhale, and before she could even blink, he’d rushed up to her and crushed her against him in a tight hug.
“What are you thinking?!” he hissed, pulling away from her just as quickly and lowering his head to be on her level. She pressed her lips together to hold back a sigh, knowing that she was going to get a lecture. The warm relief that had flooded her system ran cold, and the beginnings of a smile on her lips disappeared. She didn’t know if he expected her to answer his question, but she didn’t bother to try, seeing him already starting to say more.
“If I hadn’t put that tracker on your jacket, do you know what would have happened?” he asked, reaching up to grip her shoulders and jostle her slightly. She stared back in silence, noticing quickly how tired he looked.
“I can’t believe you’re being so stupid,” he sighed, searching her eyes when she still had no response. “Do you have any regard for your safety?” he pressed, squeezing her shoulders almost painfully. She blinked at him, letting a short sigh out of her nose at all the questions she’d heard multiple times before.
She tried not to admire the way his hair had begun to curl slightly at the tips, making her guess that he’d left when it’d still been raining. It also wasn’t hard to see the genuine worry on his face, and that almost made her smile again despite the way frustration and exhaustion bubbled inside her.
“Are you even listening?” he said through gritted teeth, moving his face closer to hers. She flinched a little, nodding.
“Yes,” she replied, seeing her answer only irritate him more. He let go of her shoulders, taking a few steps back and placing his hands on his hips.
“What are you doing out here?” She watched him, bringing her arms up to hold her middle to try and retain some of the warmth he’d given her.
“I needed some air,” she said quietly, knowing that would anger him further but being too tired to come up with a better excuse.
“Air?” he scoffed, staring at her incredulously. “Getting air can be leaving the room, like I did. Not getting lost in the middle of the night,” he said sternly, stepping close to her again and wrapping a hand around her upper arm.
“You’re unbelievable,” he sighed, beginning to pull her back in the direction he’d come. She stumbled along after him, letting her arms fall to her sides.
She couldn’t help the tears that gathered in her eyes once more, despite the fact that she knew he was being harsh on purpose. She was tired and cold, and she’d left to escape the endless stream of anger and insults, but they’d found her again.
When she sniffled loudly, his large steps faltered, and he turned back to look at her. The grip on her arm loosened while she avoided his gaze.
“Wait, no. Don’t cry,” he sighed, letting go of her arm completely and turning to face her. She quickly wiped her tears away, looking up at him to show him that she would do as he said. But once their eyes met, she could see the guilt on his face. He wanted her to hate him, but all of it was hurting him too.
She buried her face in her hands and let out a quiet sob, hearing him shuffle awkwardly in front of her. After a few moments, she felt his hands wrap around her wrists gently. She let him pull her hands away, peeking up at him.
“I’m sorry, okay?” he whispered, letting go of her wrists to run his thumbs under her eyes softly. “Just come back with me.” She sniffled, admiring the look in his eyes for another moment before nodding at his request.
“Okay,” he breathed, standing up straight again and extending a hand to her. “Here, give me your hand.” She glanced at him, seeing that he wouldn’t meet her eyes. She offered him her hand anyway, feeling the beginnings of a smile tug at her lips when the warmth from his touch began to melt away the ice in her skin.
Seven held her hand tightly as they headed back, making sure he walked at a pace that was comfortable for her and thanking God he’d found her safe and sound.

I've been so excited to write for the Mystic Messenger Reverse Big Bang 2021 (go check out other amazing fics and art in the collection at @mysme-rbb), and it's the first fanfic/art event I've participated in! @madiebelleadventures and I teamed up to brainstorm this beast, so her art is at the very end (because I ain't spoilin nothin)!

Rating: T
Word Count: 5.1k
Summary: One day after the end of a work week, Vanderwood surprises MC with some husband-wife baking time—with a twist. Inspired by his agent training, he suggests that they bake as a team but have MC blindfolded. In order to make a cake that's actually edible, she must follow his directions to the letter. All that's left after that is chaos, banter, and spouse-flustering. And figuring out how to actually make a cake.
A/N: Fyi MC is definitely more of her own character than a reader-insert on this one. Also as per usual with me, I headcanon Vanderwood as British, so I tried heavily to align his phrasing accordingly, despite being an American myself. Enjoy seeing exactly how much fluff I can possibly cram into 5k words!
MC sighed happily at the feeling of the wind in her hair as she drove home from work one Friday evening. Windows down, jacket off, music blasting—the air itself felt like freedom. She had nothing against her job—in fact, she enjoyed it for the most part. She prided herself in a job well done, she liked being able to manage a team of her own, and the paycheck and benefits were good. Nothing extravagant, of course, but enough to comfortably support a couple newlyweds.
And that was the real reason MC nearly jumped out the door every day when everything wrapped up at the office. Who wouldn't, with a husband as unfairly hot as Vanderwood? Completely unfair how he could make leopard print and what was practically a mullet actually look attractive. Thank goodness his fashion sense had mellowed out over time, if only a little bit. With Vanderwood's past being what it was, they had mutually come to the conclusion that it would be best for their well-being if he stayed at their apartment during the day to keep the household running. He was very particular about how he cooked, cleaned, and did the laundry, and he handled their finances conscientiously and precisely. Admittedly, she did have to occasionally remind him that as sleek as that new top-of-the-line taser was, there was no real need for it, but that was just part of her husband's charm.
And boy, was he charming.
She truly couldn't wait to get home, past this rush hour traffic. She'd get home and be pulled in for a deep kiss moments after walking in the door. Maybe he'd slip a gentle but insistent hand into her hair. Maybe they'd take it a little further. Or a lot further.
"HOLY FUDGE NUGGETS ON BACON ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME???"
MC swerved to avoid a collision and waited for her heartbeat to settle down again. There was no freaking way she was going to die in some stupid car wreck before their date tonight. A surprise, he'd said. No matter how hard she'd tried to weasel more out of him, he wouldn’t bend. Darn agent training. Good thing it wouldn't be a surprise for much longer. Within minutes, the streets got smaller and quieter as she neared her apartment building. Another minute, and she flung open the apartment door and leapt on her husband.
MC's fantasies were soon replaced by an even better reality when Vanderwood's lips landed on hers. Kissing back enthusiastically, MC wrapped her arms around his middle so tight that a less sturdy man would be coughing for air. Vanderwood snatched her keys and purse and hung them by the doorway, never breaking his focus for a second. His kisses grew slower, but no less fervent, as he smoothed her wind-strewn hair. Eventually, their lips reluctantly parted, and MC broke the silence.
"How did I manage to snag the best kisser on earth on top of marrying the most insanely attractive man on earth?"
Vanderwood smirked. "Good taste, I guess." He kissed her once more soundly for good measure.
"Maybe. Will my insanely attractive husband tell me what our surprise date is now?"
"Perhaps."
"No perhapses! I've been dying waiting!"
"Very well. Start by changing your clothes, because I am not scrubbing stains out of your good work clothes."
"Do I otherwise have to wear anything in particular? That's not a lot to go off of."
"Doesn't matter to me. Now go change before I do the job myself."
"I wouldn't complain."
"This is not that kind of date! Go!"
"Fine, Sir Panties-in-a-bunch."
MC went to the bedroom and took stock of her clothing options. She had to choose something practical that could be easily washed, but she still wanted to look a little cute. After all, it was a date. It was a tough balance to strike. Eh, she could always stick an apron or an old shirt over it. She grabbed her oversized paint shirt just in case before snagging a light pink shirt. Now for the bottoms. She debated on a simple skirt, but decided to go for it. After all, if it didn't fit with Vanderwood's plans, he would tell her. MC changed quickly and weaved her hair into a side braid, slipping a tendril out on each side to frame her face. Mirror-MC nodded in approval. Time to see what on earth her husband had been planning.
She cracked open the door and peeked through before skipping over to Vanderwood, who had made himself comfortable on the couch. His amber eyes widened in interest.
"You have no business looking this pretty for a baking date."
MC grinned. "Ha! I did get it out of you! A baking date sounds cute. What made you think of that? Are you just really getting into the whole house husband gig?"
"It was my agent training, actually." Seeing the puzzled look on his wife's face, Vanderwood continued, "There's a bit of a twist to it, you see. I will hardly be doing any of the actual baking. You, my dear, on the other hand, will be completely blindfolded. You will have to follow my instructions explicitly, or else the result will be completely inedible."
"I still fail to see how the setup doesn't sound like 'that kind of date', but it sounds like fun! What does this have to do with your agent training, though?"
"Various exercises used similar techniques. Many times in the field, we had to follow orders to the letter with no questions asked if we wanted to make it out in one piece. We also did training to be able to operate blindly or in the dark if our vision was compromised. But none of it was as enjoyable as watching a beautiful woman bake a cake by pure trust."
"You're such a flatterer. Keep it coming," MC smirked.
"At least get into the kitchen first," Vanderwood said, handing her a blindfold that looked suspiciously like his nap mask.
"Okay, but if you don't want me in the kitchen until I'm blindfolded, you're gonna have to get my apron yourself."
"I thought I was the one giving out orders tonight?"
"A girl's gotta get her kicks somewhere."
"Such a docile wife I have. Never difficult, never demanding."
"You think it's sexy. Don't even try to deny it."
"I would have filed for immediate divorce if the description 'docile' actually fit you." He stepped into the kitchen and emerged a moment later with the apron. MC slipped it on and, after ducking briefly into the bathroom to wash her hands, covered her eyes with the blindfold.
"I'm at your mercy now. Don't abuse that privilege."
He materialized behind her, winding his arms around her waist. "I wouldn't dream of it," he murmured into her ear before attacking her stomach. MC burst into uncontrollable giggles.
"I swear—!" she giggled "—I swear I'm going to punch the living daylights out of you!"
"You're certainly welcome to try. You know I wouldn't even feel it."
"But I could try. How am I supposed to trust you to give me decent directions to bake whatever the heck we're making if I can't even trust you not to tickle me?"
"You don't. That's the thrill of it."
"You'd better have me make something actually edible for all our trouble."
"That all depends on how well you follow my instructions."
"And how decent your instructions are. Let's not forget that tiny detail," she reminded.
"Hmm, we'll see," The smile was evident in his voice. "Now if we're going to start, we need to go ahead and do it."
"Probably."
He guided MC by her upper arms into the narrow kitchen.
"Fortunately," he said, halting and holding her in place, "we're only baking a cake and not an entire meal, so it won't take an eternity."
"I sure hope not! It's pizza night and I'm already a little hungry!"
He wound his hands around his wife's waist, lightly patting her stomach. "Well, the faster we start, the faster we can eat. I've already laid everything out for you as best I can, so you just have to follow my directions, all right, love?"
"Got it."
"All right, can you feel the worktop?" A nod. "Raise your right hand just a bit...and over…now grab the box with the cake mix, because heaven knows neither of us knows or cares enough to make it from scratch. Got it? Now open it up. The mixing bowl is straight to the left. Go ahead and pour it in."
"Just so you know, if I spill anything, you're the one taking responsibility."
"And why is that, darling?" Vanderwood asked, feigning shock.
"Because you're the one who had this idea in the first place! Not to mention if I make a mess it’s because of your faulty directions."
Unfortunately, MC failed to prove her point, pouring the mix into the bowl and barely spilling a few crumbs.
"Looks like we may not have to worry about that," Vanderwood smirked.
"You have met me, right? You know something's going to get spilled, right?"
Ignoring her, he moved the empty box toward the back and continued, "The milk should be right around where the cake mix was, if you can remember where you just were. The measuring jug is right next to it. Do you think you can pour it in correctly?"
"We'll see, now won't we?"
"There you go. Just try to take it slowly, just in case, and stop when I say so."
MC obeyed, gradually tilting the milk jug until a thin stream hit the center of the measuring cup.
"Brilliant! Now careful, careful, slightly to the left...that's it! Now slow down...almost done...stop!" He kissed her cheek. "That was amazing. Now pour it into the bowl."
MC felt around for the mixing bowl again. She managed to find it and poured in the milk. "Where's the cap for the milk jug?"
"Hm...where did it go? Oh, there it is. Right by the sink."
She batted at the air around her right side to find the inside of the sink. Instead, her hand bumped the side of the milk jug. Vanderwood's hand shot out to catch it, but a small puddle had already sloshed onto the counter. MC's hand shot up to take off the blindfold, but Vanderwood caught her wrist first. She sighed.
"Vandy, give it to me straight. How bad is it?"
"Not bad at all. I caught it before much got out. Stay put for a moment while I wipe it up so it doesn't start to smell or dry up."
"Not to say I told you, but I definitely told you."
Her husband stuck out his tongue at her—one of the few ways he had begun to let himself be childish lately. Then the obvious dawned on him. "I'm sticking out my tongue. I thought you ought to know that."
"Crucial information. Are you done yet?"
"Yep. You ready to get your hands a little dirty?"
"Isn't that expected in all this?"
"That's probably a large part of why you demanded an apron first, yes."
"You would be right about that, also yes. And you're so dramatic. I did not demand."
"Up to interpretation. Reach up to the left of the mixing bowl and just grab it off the plate and toss it in."
As instructed, MC reached over and let out a tiny shriek when her hand came into contact with the soft butter. Vanderwood guffawed.
"I was waiting for that."
MC gasped. "You did this on purpose!" She flung the butter into the bowl with an extra dash of vindictiveness.
"Maybe so. I like hearing your reactions," he purred.
"Don't try to be all smooth when you're being a twit. It doesn't suit you," MC sniffed, then muttered under her breath, "actually it totally works for you but it doesn't make me less ticked at you."
"By the way, don't bother trying to wash your hands just yet. The next part is probably going to be the messiest. I'll go get the bin so it'll be close by for you."
"Appreciated. What's the next part?"
"Eggs."
"Yikes, okay. That's why I needed the trash can, then. And where are the eggs?"
"To your left. You're going to need four of them. I read somewhere that adding an extra egg makes it better, hypothetically."
"You're the one giving the instructions."
"Alright, the bin is to your left, whenever you're ready."
"I could hear the thunk when you set it down, but thank you," MC said wryly.
"I live to serve."
There was silence for a moment as MC cracked the first egg into the bowl, and a soft smile rose on her face like the dawn. "Not anymore, you don't. I thank God every day that you and Saeyoung were able to free yourselves from the agency. I never could have forgotten you even if you hadn't, but I never would have known the immense joy I've gotten to have by being your wife." She sniffed, then laughed. "Sorry for being so sentimental all of a sudden, I don't know what got into me. It's just that knowing how many things could have gotten between us makes me that much more grateful for what we have."
"Ah!" Vanderwood shot a hand out to correct the second egg's trajectory into the mixing bowl.
"Oops, thank you."
"No problem, love. We're a team." He settled against her back, rubbing her arms lightly and placing a tender kiss on her cheek. "And never feel sorry for your so-called sentimentality. In fact, I really think you hold back sometimes. You shouldn't. I know that I used to scoff at these things, but locking out your emotions for job after job really takes a toll on a man. The agency had no room for love of any sort, and I've long come to the realization that every person is hardwired to desire love of one kind or another. I know I'm still unlearning all of my coping mechanisms, and I know I'm still sharp with some people, but with you?" He smoothed a hair back from her face. "I'll take whatever love you can give me."
She cracked the third egg into the bowl and threw out the shell. "I always knew you could be a softie, very deep down. I'm just glad that I get to be the one to see it."
After the fourth egg was in the bowl, Vanderwood directed, "Okay, time to wash up. The next thing is mixing for two minutes. While I love you, I do not trust you to use an electric mixer while blindfolded, so you're going to use a whisk for that job."
"I suppose that's fair. Can you put away the trash can while I wash my hands?"
"Already on it."
"Where's the whisk, again?"
"I kind of put it toward the back, so either be careful or wait for me to move a few things."
"Oh, I've got it. Don't worry," MC waved a hand in dismissal and groped around for the whisk, but her arm was a bit too low, and she dipped her clothed elbow in the plate where the butter had been. She sighed. "What did I just decorate my elbow with?"
"Butter. Try it. It might be tasty," he teased.
"Come on, Vandy, this is not the time. Help me get it off before it soaks in too much."
"Alright, alright, I just had to pick on you a little bit for not listening to me." He carefully scooped off the top layer of the butter with a paper towel before trying to absorb the rest. "I'm going to roll up your sleeves a bit more so that this hopefully won't happen again."
"Well, not until I slosh half the cake out of this bowl trying and failing to mix it."
"You'll be fine. Just stick to mixing the center and bringing the outside of it toward the center so everything gets mixed. But mix it well and mix it fast. The timer starts...now!"
MC held the bowl against her stomach to steady it while she mixed the batter vigorously. "Easy for you to say. You're not the one trying to mix furiously while keeping it all in the bowl on top of being blindfolded!"
"Calm down, you're doing great. A couple drips, maybe, but it's staying in."
"So far, anyway. But that's good, I guess."
"No guessing. It's quite good." Vanderwood leaned against the counter. "We've got a minute and a half to kill. Should I spend it telling you how you look right now?"
"Oh gosh, do I even want to know?"
He shook his head in near disbelief, smiling. "Magnetic. Adorable. More delicious than the cake we're making."
MC cackled. "You cannot be serious. I've got to be a mess right now."
"You act as if that's a contradiction. It's the mess that makes you more beautiful. Is every single hair of yours in place? No. But they fall around your face in the most delicately beautiful way. Even the places where the ingredients got smudged on you somehow add to your charm." He leaned in so that his lips touched her ear, his voice lowering to a gravelly timbre. "Did you know that your cheeks are all rosy from the effort you're putting into stirring? It's unbelievably attractive. And the way your lips press together when you're concentrating? It makes me want to kiss them apart. In fact—"
"Vanderwood, how much time is left?" MC interrupted, suppressing a vivid blush and a shiver.
"Our entire lives," he said, happily ignoring the real question.
"The timer, Vanderwood. How much is left on the timer?"
The sound of the timer going off answered the question for him. "None," he grinned. "I'll go spray the cake pan while you rest for a moment. You've earned it."
She exhaled, set the mixing bowl aside, and stretched. Then a thought made her panic. "Vandy, we forgot to preheat the oven."
He held her face in his hands. "MC. Darling. Breathe. I set the oven when I grabbed the apron."
Her breathing gradually slowed. "Sorry, love. I'm just really hungry and kind of tired and I think not being able to see is doing weird things to my brain and you kind of flustered me a minute ago with what you were saying and I'm sorry, I—" her voice cracked, but Vanderwood cut her off and held her close.
"Hey...hey...you're alright. There's nothing to be sorry about. I kept you going after a long day of work without feeding you first. I should have known better." He smoothed her hair and tucked it into her braid. "I'll tell you what. How about we get this cake in the oven and then order some pizza and watch another episode of Cucumber Fish?"
MC sniffled and hummed in agreement. Vanderwood loosened his hold around her and gently brought her hands to the bowl again before grabbing the cake pan. "Okay, all you've got to do now is pour it into the pan that I've put just to the left of the bowl. Just take it nice and easy. There you go. Perfect. You're almost done. Now let me get a spatula to scoop the last of it out." After he finished, he slid the cake pan into the oven and started the timer. "There. All done." He slipped the mask off her eyes and gave her a peck on the lips as she blinked to adjust to the light. "I'll clean all this up, alright? Go ahead and relax on the sofa. You can order the pizza and get Cucumber Fish queued up while I finish up in here."
"Okay," she murmured. Another peck, and she curled up on the couch. She pulled out her phone to order the pizza and smiled at the notifications she'd gotten from the RFA chatroom. They were up to their normal antics again. Hopefully, Saeyoung wouldn't exasperate Saeran too much with his crazy propositions. But there was nothing she could do about that, and she was starving and in desperate need of pizza. Once it was ordered, she turned on the TV and selected the episode, making sure to let it run past the ads before pausing it.
After Vanderwood joined her on the couch, the next forty-five minutes was filled with lots of cuddling and pizza devouring, more kissing than watching the show, a few glances at the cake's progress, an agreement to actually watch the episode while they ate the cake, and several minutes of cooling time after the cake was removed from the oven. Vanderwood emerged from the kitchen after a few minutes of setting up to decorate.
"Are you sure you want to put on the mask again?" he asked. "I don't want it to mess with your head like it did last time."
"I'll be fine, babe. I'm pretty sure it was like that last time just because I was starving."
"Are you positive?"
"Yes."
"If you say so. Go ahead and get them on, then," he said, handing MC the apron and mask.
"Just make sure to lead me into the kitchen again."
"Hmm, we'll see."
"We'll see?" she repeated, but shrieked soon after when she no longer felt the ground beneath her feet. Vanderwood had scooped her up to carry her into the kitchen bridal-style and sank his lips against hers with intentionality. He bumped into the counter but managed to avoid any damage to his wife. He deposited one last kiss on her lips before setting her down.
"What have you done to me, woman? Years and years of agent skills, undone in a moment. If it were anything or anyone else, I never would have bumped into that worktop. But when it's you kissing me, you're the only thing that exists." He grinned. "It's a shame, really. I thought my dexterity was an impressive skill, but I don't even have that anymore, it seems."
"Shame indeed," MC parroted, trying to steal another kiss from his lips and stealing one from his nostrils instead. She made a face, causing Vanderwood to laugh.
"Well, at least I still have the ability to order you around." MC smacked him in response, and he continued, "Alright, alright, let's get to it then. This is where it'll get really interesting, since decorating requires more precision. Which, no offense, is a skill you don't have, since you're not exactly used to being blind."
"Now wait just a—okay, I can't argue that," MC sighed. He placed a spatula in one hand and a jar of frosting in her other.
"Turn around. Can you find where the cake is?"
"Ye—wait, Vandy! I thought you said you cleaned up!"
"I did…sort of." Before she could protest, he interjected, "I wiped the worktop! I just pushed all the dishes to one side so we could put all of it in the dishwasher at once when we were done!" He added with a mumble, "I just wanted to get back to you."
"You think you can charm your way out of anything," MC responded airily. "Well, you're right." She squared up as best she could with a frosting jar in hand. "I found the cake. I'll try to do my best."
"Well, in this part, I won't let you go completely solo. I can rotate the cake for you as you go, if you want."
"Please."
MC scooped a large helping of frosting from the jar and started spreading around the perimeter. Her spatula made a slight detour for a moment to donate some frosting to the top of the cake, and Vanderwood halted and reversed his rotation slightly to avoid confusion. A few seconds later, she went for another, slightly smaller, scoop to finish frosting the circumference of the cake. Another scoop, added to the deposit from the first, finished off the top.
"Is there a big corner around the top edge? Or any dry spots?" she asked.
"Just a slight corner. Grab a little bit more frosting to round it off a bit and thicken the top."
She did as directed while he helped rotate, and stepped back. "Better?"
"Much better. Maybe we can add a little artistic touch by making some...what do you call them? Swoops? Around the sides from the top?"
"Sounds great. You're definitely going to have to help me, though."
"Alright, I'll rotate again and stop you when you're done. Then you can smooth off the top edge again quick."
Six slightly lopsided arcs later, he stepped back for a moment, observing. "This is certainly not the prettiest cake I've seen, but it all adds to the fun, yeah?"
"I guess," she laughed.
"Now here's the part that'll really get a laugh when you take off the blindfold. I've got a bowl over here with some frosting for smaller decorating, and you get to pick the food coloring that goes in it."
"Oh no."
"Oh yes," he snickered while guiding her over to a trio of colored bottles that she couldn't discern. "Take your pick," he said cheerily. MC gingerly selected one, and he suppressed a snort poorly. "Excellent choice!"
MC groaned. "I'm going to regret all my life choices, aren't I?"
"Of course not! Only your decision to marry me."
"Hey." She squeezed his wrist. "I could never regret that."
"You might reevaluate that statement when you take off the blindfold and see the cake. Or at least my ugly mug."
"Vanderwood. Don't you even start with me. You're so hot that if we were working with chocolate instead of a cake, we wouldn't need the microwave to melt it."
"You're so hot that the beach would need sunblock instead of you."
"You're so hot that the sun goes to you when it needs to warm up."
They collapsed against each other, gasping for air. Vanderwood caught his breath first. "Let's get this food coloring in the bowl, shall we? The spoon and frosting are already in it. All you have to do is put a few drops in and stir until I say so. The bowl's on your left."
"As you wish," she said as she did so.
After a few moments, he spoke. "That's enough. Let me get you back over to the cake, and I'll get the frosting in the decorating bag. Which is really just an ordinary plastic bag, but I did pick up some cheap decorating tips when I got the ingredients."
"Splendid. How am I going to decorate, though? Even if I could see, I don't know the first thing about cake decorating. Oh yeah, and I can't see."
"Don't get your 'panties in a bunch,' as you like to tell me so often. I'll do it with you this time."
"But you don't know how to decorate cakes, either!"
"Ah-ah-ah!” he chided. “Do you trust me or not?"
"Not particularly."
"Hey!"
"But! We should just go ahead and do it anyway, because even though neither of us knows what we're doing, we're the only ones in this apartment who can. And the frosting smells too good not to eat soon."
"That's my girl." Vanderwood curled around her. He molded one hand around hers and slid the other over her stomach. As they formed a few swirls on the top, he murmured, "We did this whole thing together. How impressive is that? Was it as fun for you as it was for me?"
MC smiled. "Of course it was. I know I got a little hangry for a bit there, but I know how much thought you put into this. None of my old deadbeat ex-boyfriends ever would have cared so much, let alone shown it. These are the things that make me love you that much more."
"I never experienced any permanent love until you showed it to me. And it's been so...world-altering—that I've been trying to wrap my head around it ever since. I still can't. But I swear I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to give you the same love you've given me. I certainly don't deserve it, after the things I've done. But you do. You deserve all the happiness a person can have."
MC paused and blushed slightly. "Vandy…" She exhaled. "We've gone over this whole 'not deserving it' thing. Whether you deserve it or not doesn't matter. To me, what matters is your heart. You have such a beautiful heart, Vandy. I love the kind of man you've become. I've seen you strive every day to be better than you were the day before, and that is so inspiring."
"Well, whether or not I deserve happiness, I would choose to be happy every day if my being happy made you happy." He squeezed her hip affectionately and pulled her in for a tender kiss.
"It would." She kissed him back. They added one last swirl and a border before they set down the bag of frosting. He uncurled her fingers and fiddled with her wedding ring.
"Are you ready to see it?"
"Sure."
He slipped off the blindfold, and she gasped.
"What have we done?" she exclaimed as her laughing grew louder by the second.
"Whatever do you mean, dear?" Vanderwood asked, feigning ignorance.
"The cake is bright flaming orange, Vandy!" She let out a snort, then covered her face. "Hey, wait! All the food coloring was the same color too, you little twit!"
He shrugged innocently. MC sputtered. "Nuh-uh. Don't you shrug at me, mister. Saeyoung has rubbed off on you way too much."
"Has not."
She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Okay, maybe the tiniest bit."
"Uh huh, that's what I thought. Now are you as ready as I am to eat this cake and watch Cucumber Fish?"
"Let me take a picture first. And another one with you in it? You look so lovely, I can't not have one with you in it."
She tried desperately to keep a frown on her face as he snapped a picture but couldn't quite hold back the quirk at the corner of her mouth. He cut a slice for each of them and handed one to her. He curled the paper plate around his slice, and she did likewise. They looked each other in the eyes, both knowing exactly what would come next. Vanderwood solidified his stance. "Ready...steady...GO!" The couple raced to the living room and took a running jump onto the couch, ready for the wonderful night ahead.

Could I get a Mysmes Highschool AU please? Including Jihyun and Saeran if you don't mind (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ✧*。
yes!! this is such a cute idea~ for the sake of it let’s assume all of the mysme gang go to the same high school :D
YOOSUNG:
* He’s the kid that’s always friendly and bright when you approach him, but he’ll never come up to you first; he’ll always shout out a ‘good morning!’ when coming into the class each day, and he’ll have his own little raggedy friend group (that majorly consists of guys-he’s just too shy around girls!)
*People always say he’s nice and sweet but…that’s pretty much it. No one knows his favorite colour, what he wants to be when he grows up, if he gets along with his family…
*Well, MC decides to approach him-they’d always been friendly with him but at a distance, and something in his eye makes them want to bridge this gap between them.
*Turns out, he’s actually an absoloute sweetheart like everyone says, but he’s also so much more than that! He’s funny and bright, but beats himself up a lot-he’s a good student but lazy, and without someone to cheer him on and push him to keep up a scedhule he gets lost.
*So MC takes it upon themselves to convince him to have weekly study dates with him, rewarding themselves with cold sweet milkshakes after a job-well done; neither of them would admit it, but they’re absoloutely falling for eachother with each meeting.
*Yoosung would NEVER confess so-he’s so scared! All his friends at school tease him and ‘threaten’ to tell MC themselves if he doesn’t, but he just grumbles an excuse and leaves when they do-how could he possibly ruin this thing he has with MC because of his stupid feelings?
*Well, someone eventually spills the beans to MC because duh, it’s a high school, word gets around faster than you can say ‘pop quiz’-so MC takes it upon themselves to confess in their next study date.
*They don’t become the cutest couple at school or anything, but their friends are all very happy for them-and even teachers turn a blind eye if they catch Yoosung giving a quick kiss to MC during breaks, because well, that’s young love for ‘ya.
ZEN:
*Yes, yes, he’s the hottest guy in school (for this AU let’s say he never dropped out but he did leave his home, so he’s living on his own and works part time jobs and gets whatever acting gig he can whenever possible).
*He’s a bit of a…semi-deliquent? He’s the guy you’ll find smoking under the bleachers, be it cigarettes or weed, but he’s not a junkie nor a bully-he’s actually a very gentle and caring guy, smart too-he doesn’t study much but when exam season rolls around he tries his best to at least get semi-decent grades so he can have a good CV when looking for jobs later on.
*No one knows about his family situation-he’s kind yes, but he keeps everyone at a distance, scared of letting them get too close.
*Jumin does know about Zen, mainly because Zen’s friends with V who’s the type of guy people just tell everything to-and Jumin tries to help Zen, often just by shoving money to Zen’s face which…really doesn’t help.
*Well, MC meets Zen once outside of school when they start working at the convinience store he also works at! They’d never talked to him at school-girls would constantly flock around him and fawn and whilst MC thought he’s attractive sure, they just never made the effort to talk to him.
*Turns out, he’s actually a hilarious guy with a temper-do NOT get him started on how much he hates ‘capitalist-loving pigs’ as he so calls them, and the curses he throws out whenever their manager isn’t looking are enough to make MC snort with laughter.
*They become fast friends, and whenever Zen sees MC at school he’ll wave and come their way to talk to them-which gets them both a lot of weird stares and glares. It’s not like anyone will come and bully MC for talking with Zen or anything, this isn’t the movies, but people are constantly asking how they know Zen, which they never grace with an answer-their extra-curricular activities are not something everyone should be privy to.
*One night they both work later than their shift ends, busy stocking up and running the monthly checks, and by the time they’re done it’s well past midnight-and they have school tomorrow.
*Zen offers MC to stay at his place for the night-he lives a five minute walk away from the store, and he’d hate to leave his friend alone to walk back home when there’s fewer buses and trains at this hour.
*So this is how MC discovers Zen lives alone-they don’t pry, but he tells them everything anyway, finally giving in and letting himself trust MC-and this is also how the two get together.
*One minute they’re on Zen’s couch laughing over one thing or the other, the next they’re kissing, Zen’s hand cradling MC’s cheek.
*The next morning when they both go to school, MC wearing one of Zen’s t-shirts as an undershirt to their school uniform…well, let’s just say there’s a LOT of jealous people around lmao
*(But still, no one dares say anything to MC-Zen is NOT known for his patience, and if anyone hurts his beloved then one glare from Zen is enough to send them to an early grave really)
JAEHEE:
*She’s the quiet kid-you know the one. She’s always buried in her books, sits in the front of the class (not by choice, not really-she just has bad eyesight lmao), her hair’s short because she thinks long hair’s a hassle, and has one or two superficial friends but that’s pretty much it.
*Well, one day she comes into class during a break only to find MC holding back tears as they look down at a book on their desk.
*Jaehee cautiously approaches and notices MC’s struggling with a math equation-one of the ones their teacher had assigned as homework, she reckons.
*With a soft smile she asks MC if they’d like Jaehee to sit with them-no ‘i can teach you’ or anything, she merely wants to sit beside them and cheer them on, and only offers her help if asked.
*And that’s how the two become friends. Jaehee’s not used to the affection MC shows them, how they’ll sit with them during breaks and bring them their favorite drink or snack from the cantine, how they’ll often invite them out after classes and wrap their hand around Jaehee’s shoudlers-she’ll never admit it but she was fast to develop a crush on MC, and her feelings terrify her.
*One day they’re at a park by MC’s place, sitting on the swings talking about their future. MC talks with bright eyes about all the plans they have after graduating, some completely absurd, others attainable with hard enough work and dedication.
* “What about you Jaehee? What do you want to do after graduating?” MC asks, their focus on Jaehee as they snap her out of her trance.
*What Jahee wants…? She thinks of her dream, the little coffee house with music and laughter, the smell of fresh grinded coffee beans and her behind the counter with an apron on and her hair long and tied into braids, how she’ll have regular customers she knows by name, how she’ll have someone she loves beside her-someone like MC-
* “I’ll just be an office worker I guess” she shrugs, avoiding MC’s bright gaze. That makes MC pout, getting off of the swing to sit in front of Jaehee on their knees, their hands on Jaehee’s lap, holding her own palms tight.
*MC tells Jaehee to think of what she truly wants, how she should never settle when she has dreams to follow and work on, how she owes her future to no one but herself-and maybe MC had more to say, but Jaehee will never know; for in that moment a surge of courage pushed them forward, leaning in and kissing MC mid-speech.
*They seperated quick enough, Jahee’s eyes wide, her mouth agape-would MC hate her now? Would they get up and leave? Would they-
* “That was wonderful” MC said with a grin, “but that doesn’t mean you’re excused from this conversation.”
*Anyway this is a long winded way of saying the two become the sweetest freaking couple their school has ever seen lmao
JUMIN:
*He’s…also a popular guy, but for all the opossite reasons than Zen.
*People say he’s cool and mysterious, handsome to boot and richer than the queen of england. There’s all sorts of rumors surrounding him that he never adresses, which only add fuel to the fire.
*Some girls even start calling him ‘Mr.Grey’ after *that* film comes out, which makes him really confused. He doesn’t even like the colour…? Has he ever worn a grey tie he doesn’t remember?
*Anyway, he’s secluded yes, and quiet, his only friend that’s by his side at all times being V, who’s honestly equal parts mysterious as he is handsome.
*The two emit an aura that makes them unapproachable, so people just…don’t try to get close to them, and that’s that.
*MC’s one of those people, until one day, their art teacher splits them into groups of three people to create a photography project-something about light or whatever, MC wasn’t really paying attention. They’d already turned their head towards their friends with a smile and a wink, knowing they’d spend their ‘study time’ playing and gossiping…
*….until their teacher announced they’d be seperating people into groups themselves. And lo and behold-MC had ended up in a group with Jumin-yes, just Jumin since their class was an odd number. Their teacher said they’d have more time than the others since they were only two, but there was no changing groups, that was their definite rule.
*So after class ended, MC timidly approached Jumin-who was…way more polite than they’d thought. He greeted them with a handshake of all things, and told them to meet him at his home that very same day in the afternoon to discuss their ‘plan of action’ as he called it.
*He was odd, that much was sure, but there was a sort of cuteness to his actions, like a child trying to imitate an adult.
*Well, going to his home was…an experience. It’s everything you see in the movies and more, from a massive gateway to bodyguards taking MC up to Jumin’s study hall, to a maid coming by to ask what the two would like to drink and eat.
*Jumin’s nice enough, albeit cold and distant, but there’s something about this whole situation that kept bothering MC. With a small frown they quietly asked “Jumin, are your parents home?”
*He seemed taken aback by the question, his facade fading momentarily before he schooled himself back into a neutral expression. “I only have a father, and no, he’s not home at the moment.”
*MC nodded. “You think he’ll be home soon?” they asked. Jumin seemed…irk at the question, his lips tugging downwards.
* “I’m not sure. He’s a busy man, it might be a few days before he returns home. Why do you ask?”
*Their next words shocked Jumin to hsi core, his eyes wide as he looked to the timid person across of him.
* “It’s nothing I just…I’m worried you seem lonely.”
*Jumin never adressed the comment, merely carried on working on their plan for their art project, but it stuck with him-and it was in fact, the reason he allowed MC to slowly get closer to him.
*When they decided on what their project would be-the different ways sunlight hits trees from morning until evening, they set out on a camping trip that very same weekend, which showed MC a whole new side to Jumin-the man beneath the suits, the teenager who wore jeans and shirts, who knew how to light a fire with sticks, who was awed when he learnt what smore were and ate so many he gave himself a stomachache.
*That night in the forest as they awaited sunrise to take more pictures, Jumin poured his heart out to MC-his fears, his relationship with his father, how he worries he’ll grow up to be just like him, how he values family in a way his father doesn’t seem to share-and before he knew it he was resting his head on MC’s shoulder, their fingers intertwined just as their lives had become.
*His life would never be the same after meeting this person with their keen eyes and gentle heart.
SEVEN/SAEYOUNG/LUCIEL:
*Again, for the sake of this HC, we’ll assume Seven lives with Saeran and his mom who neglects them, and goes to the same high school as the rest of the RFA-he knows about hacking and does it as a part-time job to gather money, but he’s not an agent (yet..?)
*He’s a very weird guy-one moment he’s bright and cheerful and the next he’s solemn and cold, which doesn’t leave him with many friends, and even less people who actually care and want to find out what’s wrong, if he’s okay or needs any help.
*He’s often seen huddled with his twin-the two are practically inseperable, even though they’re in different classrooms, it’s rare to spot them away from each other druing break times, and they always seem to linger when school’s over, as if they dread going back home.
*Well, MC isn’t the type of person who’ll leave someone like that on their own. They’re concerned, no, more than that, they’re worried and need to know if Saeyoung’s alright, if he needs any help-there’s something about him that just puts them on edge, and they want to figure it out more than anything else.
*Well, trying to get close to Saeyoung is about as hard as Hercules’s trials; he’s friendly enough sure, sharing memes and joking about, but the moment a conversation becomes more serious he vanishes, finding some flimsy excuse to disappear before he needs to open up about anything.
*But MC is relentless, and the more they learn about Saeyoung, every little bit of himself that he dares share-from his favorite colour (orange, he says, like the sunset), to his little quirks and habits (he bites his nails, he speaks so fast he stumbles over words, he’s genius to a fault but has a hard time reading-words seem to get jumbled up-), all the little things that make Saeyoung himself just swell up and fill MC’s heart and before they knew it-they’re in love.
*Saeyoung’s no fool, he knows MC likes him-and that makes him push them away all the more. Saeran notices his brothers conflicting emotions but says nothing, worried he’ll only make things worse.
*One day he snaps. MC confessed to him, and rather than saying ‘I don’t like you back’, he said ‘I can’t do this’, prodding a myriad of questions from MC.
* “Why? What is it you can’t do-Saeyoung, what are you hiding-”
* “Everything!” he yells-his hands are balled into fists, his back trembles, his eyes swell with tears; this person in front of him, the one he loves back, that’s so close yet so far-how can he drag them down into his own hell? “My family’s a fucking mess, my dad would rather have me dead, I’m barely surviving and-I’ve been doing fine, I’ve been coping but then you came along and put everything into your own unique chaos and-and I should push you away, I should I should but I can’t-”
*MC held him as he broke down in the empty school courtyard, his head resitng on their chest as he cried himself into fatigue. MC protected him from stray gazes of students finishing their EC activities, glared at whoever tried to approach them.
*They kissed his forehead, running their hands through his hair as he sighed at the action. “I’ll protect you Sae. Both you and Saeran, I promise-I’ll do everything I can to help you. No one will ever hurt you two. No one.”
SAERAN:
*Similar to Saeyoung, he’s a weird character, and one few people dare approach. He seems cold and distant, and unlike his brother doesn’t joke around even for pretense’s sake. He’s rumored to have beat up people more than once, some even saying he’s a hired mercenary, although that’s a fat stretch of a lie at best, and a malicious intent to spread gossip about Saeran at most.
*In truth-he’s none of those things. MC knows, because his gentle eyes had caught their attention since day one, and they’ve been noticing the little bits and pieces that make him the Saeran they bid as kind and gentle-how they’ll cower their head at loud noises, how he’ll trail his fingers over leaves and petals of the courtyards’ plants as he walks by-they even saw him watering them once, but were pretty sure he’s not in the gardening club-they were the head of that club after all.
*With that in mind, MC had eventually gathered up their courage and approached Saeran, who seemed frazzled at their sudden approach to his desk. They introduced themselves as the head of the gardening club and asked if he’d be interested in joining them with a bright grin.
*Saeran was wide eyed and tense, but never graced them with an answer-at that moment his twin brother Saeyoung came to the classroom’s door and called out to Saeran, who graciously took the chance to hop out of his seat and leave before MC could utter another word.
*Only then did MC notice they had caught the attention of the entire classroom, only when the twins left and the chatter returned in the room had they realised how quiet everyone had fallen when MC approached Saeran.
*That evening at the gardening club, MC was restless, their hands fiddling with the water hose they’d been using to water the trees around the garden. Had they been too straight-forward? Too intense? They only wanted to befriend the guy, not scare the heebie jeebies out of him….
*They were shaken out of their thoughts when a timid knock came to the door, a familiar pair of golden eyes looking to them with a furious blush on pale cheeks.
*Saeran stood there, his fists trembling. “Um-I’d-I want to join…?”
*MC hates to admit it, but they were so shocked they forgot they were holding an open wate hose-so they turned with such force and excitement they ended up losing control of the hose, dousing themselves with tons of water before a giggling club member turned it off and took it from their hands.
*Even soaking wet and cold, they merely shook water off of their hair as they waltzed to the door, extending a hand towards Saeran.
* “Welcome to the gardening club!” they cheered, and just like that-Saeran graced them with a small little smile that was enough to melt glaciers off of the North Pole.
V/JIHYUN:
*V is the epitomy of ‘gentle and handsome’. He’s the president of the class, firm yet gentle, his smile hiding a menace, each word calculated and cool.
*MC…they didn’t know how, but they knew this was a facade. They knew it. He was nice enough, never giving them a reason to think he’s not who he seems, but there was something twisting in their gut whenevr Jihyun smiled at them, something that said not all is as it seems.
*In the next class elections-Jihyun had been elected president once again, and surprisingly, MC had been elected vice president, which meant they’d be working closely with Jihyun, having to frequently meet him after class to discuss plans and class budgets.
*For their first meeting, he suggested MC comes to his place, since it was the closest one from school, and he had the necessary materials there already since he’d been class president plenty times before already.
*Seeing Jihyun outside of school, at home-seeing him greet his father with cold hard eyes, that gave MC the confirmation they needed-that Jihyun isn’t all that he seems to be.
*As they silently worked on the class budget, MC saw something in the numbers that made them frown.
* “Um, Jihyun-don’t you think our budget for art supplies is really low? Surely we can increase it a bit no?” they asked.
*Jihyun looked up from his papers with wide eyes, his facade cracking before he laughed, rubbing at his eyes as MC stared on in confusion.
* “I’m sorry, it was mean of me to laugh-but increase the budget for art? It’s such a useless thing-there’s no need for it. Besides, no one’s complained about it before.”
* That only made MC’s confusion grow, their frown deepening. Jihyun must’ve caught on as he moved his hand across the table to gently rest over MC’s knuckles.
* “Don’t worry too much about it-if we see there’s an increased demand for it, wihch I doubt, we’ll cut a bit from the rest of the supplies and icrease that. Okay?”
* MC nodded, but remained cautious. The way he looked down on the arts-was he always like this? Something felt…off. They knew deep in their bones that Jihyun couldn’t-wasn’t a bad person, but there was something tying them back, a grudge, or so it seemed…and they were determined to find out.
-this got very out of hand and the final stories almost developed into full fledged fics lol, I’m sorry for the sharp ending! If you’d like to see more, or individualised fics for each character-you can send in another prompt, or consider comissioning me for a lengthier fic (rules/info here)

RFA with a royal MC 👑
Quarantine has thrown me back into my old fandoms, as I’m sure it has for many, and I’ve been reading Mysme headcannons all week so I thought I’d throw my hat back into the ring
Yoosung
Yoosung’s been working for the royals since the day he was born, being from a poor family
His parents were the personal servants for the king and queen back in the day, that’s how they met.
Naturally, when the two best servants of the castle had a son, they had their eyes on the boy
Rika was Yoosung’s mentor and taught him all he needed to know to get comfortable in the palace
He still can’t cook though
“Rika look what I made!”
“...Yoosung are you trying to poison the princess?”
“Princess??”
The first time Yoosung meets you, he bumps into you in the corridor carrying a load of clean sheets
You both end up on the floor, sheets flying everywhere don’t worry Yoosung Jaehee will take care of it
The poor boy is already apologising before he even looks up and realises who he just bumped into
Now he’s not just sorry-
He’s horrified
He knocked over the princess!!!1!
Immediately he’s on his knees, gathering up the sheets and apologising over and over- poor boy looks like he’s about to cry.
But you aren’t angry at him. No- you start to laugh
“Mistakes happen! It’s okay- here let me help you!”
Yoosung watches in awe as the princess starts to help collect the laundry for him
She’s not meant to do that?!?
“I-it’s okay it was my fault-“
“Nonsense. I wasn’t watching where I was going, I am just as much at fault as you are, okay? No hard feelings!”
And then she
giggles
Yoosung’s down for the count- game over
He meets you again the next day and his face just bursts into a bright shade of red
“It’s you again! Looks like we keep bumping into each other, huh?”
Hahaha kill me now Rika quick my heart can’t take this
It takes Yoosung a few weeks to get used to seeing you around the palace without making a total moron of himself every time
You even manage to have a few delightful conversations before you’re whisked away for some royal duty
It took even longer for him to actually introduce himself to you
“Yoosung? What a sweet name...”
Good job MC you killed him again
Zen
You already know this dork is the most famous actor in the whole village
He puts on a play every week in the town square and the people love it
He eats up all the ladies’ attention, I mean,,
Are any of us surprised?
“Zen! You were amazing tonight! If I didn’t know any better I’d say you’d even have impressed the princess if she saw you!”
Little did he know, she did see
When you heard about this so called ‘handsome actor’ down in the village of course you were going to go investigate for yourself
With the help of some of the maids who you confided in Jaehee, you manage to sneak down into a village just in time to see the performance for yourself
Naturally, you were hooked
Good job Zen you made the princess horny have a cookie
Of course Zen continues to perform every week, non the wiser to the newest addition to the audience
That was until one night where you accidentally locked gazes with eachother and he saw this girl smile for the first time
Dumb bitch forgot his next line and got a deadly glare from his co-star
After the performance, Zen immediately ran into the audience, ignoring the swarm of fans that surrounded him as he looked around for the girl he saw in the audience
In that brief moment, Zen was so entranced by her that she hadn’t left his thoughts since. She was so beautiful, she even reminded him of the princess.
Funny how that is
That’s when he spots you, diving into the dark streets of the village in a dark cloak
“Excuse me- yes I’m so glad you enjoyed it- yes- excuse me- coming through!”
He pushes past all the fan girls and full on sprints after the princess, ignoring the shouts coming from behind him.
This lovesick fool is convinced he just met the love of his life and he wasn’t about to let her get away
Eventually he manages to catch up to you and grabs your shoulder before you can leave again, giving him a brief moment to catch his breath.
“Why princess, leaving so soon? I never even got a chance to say hello~”
He meant it as a flirt.
He didn’t expect to look up and be talking to the actual princess
Shit fuck shit shit oh fuck-
“I- I mean- um-“
“They did warn me you were bold...”
You tease him with a small smirk on your face, watching Zen’s face morph into panic upon realising who you were.
“I normally hate being called princess... I’m open to making exceptions however. Your performance was incredible.”
You lean forward just then and place a chaste kiss on the actor’s cheek, pulling away with a small blush on your face.
“Perhaps we’ll meet again at your next one.”
And just like that- she’s gone
Zen is left in the empty streets, stunned, flustered, and completely convinced this princess was going to be the death of him.
Regardless, he’s practicing for next week’s performance before he even gets back home
Jaehee
Everyone in the royal family knows that maid Jaehee is the best in the kingdom.
She’s perfect at her job in every way, and always knows how to make the royals feel as comfortable as possible living in the castle.
Need something cleaned up? Call for Jaehee.
This food doesn’t taste quite right? Call for Jaehee.
Princess needs a personal maid? Call for Jaehee.
When the king and queen first approached Jaehee on the subject, she initially refused, telling them that although she was extremely flattered they had thought of her, she didn’t want to abandon the rest of the duties around the castle.
But the king and queen insisted, only wanting someone they trusted to help their daughter.
And who would be stupid enough to deny a request from the royals themselves
Jaehee was forced to accept the position.
It was difficult having to adjust her priorities with the new job. Jaehee no longer was in charge of the castle as a whole, but rather her focus had to be entirely revolved around you at all times.
Though you were incredibly nice to her, she tried her best to keep things professional as one should. She never spoke up, never crossed her line as a maid and always did her job perfectly.
....at first
One night, you requested for Jaehee to accompany you on a walk around the castle, and of course the girl was happy to oblige.
She quietly listened as you rambled on, talking about your passions, listing all the things you had to do that day, etc.
Everything was fine until Jaehee spotted a rather shady individual approaching you two from behind, but was a second too late in realising they had a knife.
Within an instant, they aimed the blade at Jaehee’s throat and ordered the princess to come with them peacefully, or the maid ‘gets it’
Oh no honey, you don’t threaten Baehee
This girl takes down the man in a flash, barely giving you time to realise what had just happened before guards were surrounding them.
“Oh I- I learnt a few martial arts moves from the knights when I was younger.. it was simply a hobby..”
“YOU HAVE TO TEACH ME JAEHEE!”
“I couldn’t possibly Princess-“
“PLEASE!”
....
The next thing she knew, the princess and her maid would sneak out every night for private self defence lessons
The maid grew to look forward to those evenings, the one-on-one time with eachother giving you and Jaehee time to bond and properly grow as friends rather than simply working under the professional environment of the castle.
Jaehee was able to relax and show her true colours to the woman she was dedicating her live to every day, which only made your ‘friendship’ stronger.
“My father told me today that he’d have to start looking for suitors for me to marry soon..”
“Oh... have you got anyone in mind, your highness.” Why do I feel so upset
“...perhaps.”
You never spoke of that conversation again.
That didn’t stop it from keeping Jaehee up at night though
Jumin
Oh this boy is already a royal. I mean.. do I need to explain myself?
You and Jumin actually met when you were just children, your families visiting eachother often in order to form alliances.
Everyone always said how cute of a couple you two would make when you were older, cooing over the two children who just wanted to play swords.
Let the children play swords King Han come on!
Eventually, the alliance that Jumin’s kingdom and your kingdom had broke apart over petty quarrels, and the two children were ripped apart, likely never to meet again.
“Jumin!! I don’t want you to go... I thought we were going to play king and queens...”
“Don’t worry MC, I’ll become the greatest king of my kingdom, and then I can visit you whenever I want. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?”
...
As the years flew by, Jumin’s childhood friend became nothing but a distant memory, his future as king being his primary focus.
His father was constantly bringing many woman into the castle, claiming to his son that she could be the new queen until she disappeared a few weeks later when he got bored of her.
It made Jumin despise the idea of marriage, making a silent promise to himself that he would never marry once he was on the throne, no matter how many woman threw themselves at his feet.
One day, King Han recieved message that another woman had arrived at the castle, asking to visit the prince.
Jumin initially marked it off as another woman trying to convince him to marry them so they could become princess, and told his father he was not interested.
“My son, one day you will take over this kingdom of mine, and when that time comes you will need a woman to help you bear an heir. Send her in!”
Mr-I-Won’t-Marry remained in his chambers during the woman’s visit, refusing to even give her the piece of his attention.
But he couldn’t avoid her forever, eventually having to leave for supper, where he discovered the woman having a polite conversation with his father.
Great. Another one had fallen for his tricks.
“If you have come here to attempt to marry into the royal family, I suggest you leave this instant before I call the guards.”
“Oh Jumin.. you don’t recognise me do you? It has been a long time. You haven’t forgotten me entirely, have you?
“.....MC?”
Surely enough, once the pieces began to fall into place, Jumin instantly recognised the kind and beautiful woman standing before him.
How could he possibly forget such beauty?
“I’ll leave you two alone to catch up! It has certainly been a while, princess. Please make yourself at home.” Use protection son
Once you and Jumin had started talking, he quickly fell into his old habits of conversating with the princess, having forgotten how easy it was.
“Remember when you told me you would become the greatest king of this kingdom Jumin? Oh naive we were back then..”
“Yes. Though I still plan on taking over my father as soon as possible. I think it is about time that the contract of our kingdoms’ alliance is revisited, don’t you?”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
Saeyoung
Every good kingdom needs a little spy dog- Right?
At least that’s what your kingdom agreed upon when they hired a young boy off the streets to come work for the palace
Saeyoung had a pretty good life growing up amongst the court, which was a startling difference to the village below. He wasn’t there just for fun though.
The king and queen needed to keep the village in check, to make sure there were no riots or attempts to overthrow them. That’s when Saeyoung came in.
This redhead acted as the kingdom’s informat, regularly taking visits down into the streets to chat up the royals, learn of any criminals who had plans to tarnish the good reputation of the court and quell any possible rumours of a rebellion amongst the common folk
He was real good at it too, and everyone in the kingdom loved Saeyoung with all their heart.
Protect the boy
One day, he was taking his weekly trip down to the town when he sensed he was being followed, and immediately put himself on high alert.
He would wonder through alleyways, zig-zag through the busy streets in the hopes of losing them. Nothing worked however, which forced the redhead to confront his stalker head on.
To his surprise, upon cornering the figure in a dark alleyway in town, he was met with the face of the princess, full of guilt and annoyance over being caught.
You explained how much you had wanted to visit the town and see the nitty-gritty of what it was really like to live there, something that was always hidden from you during royal visits.
And Saeyoung had to admit, this chick had some real kick to her
He still dragged you back to the castle though
He thought that would be the end of it, but the very next day he felt the same stalking presence behind him as he left to go into the village
That sneaky little-
“My my~ Princess, if you wanted to spend time with me all you had to do was ask.”
Your face blushed a bright red at the comment, coming out of your place of hiding in defeat at being caught once more.
You waited for Saeyoung to take you back to the castle immediately, however, the sturn instruction never came, and you look up at the boy to see not anger, but a large smirk on his face, a hand outstretched towards you.
“One day. That’s all you’re getting. Got it, Princess?”
To say you were overjoyed was an overstatement.
At the end of the day, Saeyoung was almost disappointed to have to take you back to the castle, finding the two of you made incredible companions together. Spending time with you was one of those few moments where he could genuinely smile and laugh, not forcing it politely in front of the royal family or a group of rioters who he needed to win over.
No, this was new.
The next time Saeyoung had to visit the village, he was almost disappointed to find that you weren’t behind him. So what did this idiot do?
Continue to do this job alone like he was being hired to?
Or climb up the side of the castle towards the princess’ chambers?
If you answered B, congratulations
Luckily for both parties, You were sat on the balcony, looking longingly out into the world like a Rapunzel waiting for her Prince Charming.
“Hey Princess!” Oh would you look at that
“I heard there was a group of bandits that were going to rob a local store tonight. It would be a shame to have to stop them alone.... unless purrrhaps you felt it was necessary for me to be accompanied by someone?”
“Oh, do you need a guard?”
“Wha- no, Princess I meant-“
“Can the great Saeyoung Choi not beat a group of bandits on his own? Or does he need the fragile princess to beat them for him?”
“Marry me”
Jihyun
It was your birthday and your whole day was filled to the brim with celebrations of every kind
It was exhausting
All you wanted to do was to sit down for more than ten minutes without a guard finding you and dragging you back for your next activity.
You even tried to hide in the maid’s quarters until Jaehee found you and scolded you
After a long day, the royal family was finally able to sit down and relax for an hour or two for the last activity of the day.
What was the last activity you ask?
What kind of a birthday would it be without having your portrait painted by the finest artist in the kingdom.
The idea of having to sit perfectly still and look regal for god knows how long wasn’t the most appealing thing in your opinon, but it was better than standing on your feet for any longer, so you took what you could get.
Of course, when the painter walked into the room for the first time, your attitude definitely changed.
“MC, this is Sir Jihyun Kim. We will be sure to make you look magnificant.”
On the outside, Jihyun was calm and collected, being professional in the presence of the princess.
On the inside, this boy was panicking
What if his work wasn’t good enough? What if he made the princess look ugly? Can you be executed over a bad painting?
You noticed a few minutes into the session how his shoulders were extremely tense and how he would barely make any conversation with you.
Sorry Jihyun, but the princess gets what she wants on her birthday
You began to talk him up more, complimenting him on his other paintings that you had seen around the castle, asking him about his life at home and why they had never met before despite him being the best painter in the kingdom.
Eventually he explained to you that Rika, one of the royal advisors, had recommended him to the royal family back when they were engaged, but now that the couple had split under rather unfortunate circumstances, he wasn’t as comfortable as he used to be in the castle and only visited to paint for the King and Queen occasionally before leaving again.
He expected after admitting all of this for the silence in the room to return, but to his surprise, you continued to talk to him, expressing sympathy over the situation and how you would have liked to meet him sooner.
Before you knew it, you both had fallen into a comfortable conversation with eachother and the hours that you had previously been dreading had flown by.
“Sir Jihyun, how’s my portrait coming along?”
“Oh- uh...”
He’d finished it hours ago. He just didn’t want to stop talking to you
When he finally gathered up the courage to show you the final product, he was incredibly relieved to see the smile on your face as you praised it, thanking him for such a beautiful piece of art.
“Sir Jihyun this is wonderful! I can’t thank you enough.”
“It was no trouble, your highness. I enjoyed painting such beauty.”
“What?”
“What?”
Saeran
Okay so maybe attempting to break out of the castle prison early wasn’t the best idea
But in his defense, his backup team was being too slow to rescue him, so he took matters into his own hands
Saeran wasn’t the most noble of people by far, oh no, but he’d never done anything worthy of the death sentance
Just a few robberies here and there, maybe a heist or two.
Did he have some of the crown jewels in his pocket when the guards caught him?
Maybe...
Regardless of what happened, here he was now, running through the halls of the castle after lockpicking his way out of the dungeon, with the guards close behind.
Stupid dork didn’t think this far ahead.
Turning a corner, Saeran spots the handful of guards facing away from him at the end of the hall, and knowing how close the ones behind him were to catching him, he knew he was trapped.
There were no windows to jump out of either, only a door beside him leading to who knows what.
What other choice did he have?
Saeran yanks the door open and sneaks inside quickly, hoping that he was quick enough not to get caught as he closed it behind him. He leans up against the wall in an attempt to hear the guards outside passing the room, non the wiser to where he had gone.
Success!
Well... almost
What Saeran hadn’t accounted for was you, who had watched the whole ordeal go down from the foot of your bed. In your room. Which he had just trapped himself inside.
Slow clap for Saeran everybody
“To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Saeran’s victory smirk was quickly wiped from his face as he turns to face you, a brief expression of panic flashing across his face as he took in where he was.
Oh fuck
“I don’t owe you anything, princess.”
“Are you sure? Because it’s seems you’re losing your little game of hide and seek with the guards.”
“Alright listen here you little-”
You were right though, the guards outside had slowly begun to narrow down the short list of possibilites where Saeren could have hid himself, and it wouldn’t take long for them to burst into the princess’ chambers looking for him.
Of course, you knew that, evident by that smug look on your face.
The boy had no choice
“...What do you want?”
“I want to come with you!”
.........what
“You can easily escape them if you climb down the balcony, but only if you take me with you.”
“...Why would I take you with me?” More importantly why would the princess want to leave with someone like him
“You know your way around the village don’t you? I want you to show me what it’s like down there. What it’s really like. It’s a small price to pay for letting you escape don’t you think?”
Oh this one’s fiesty. I like her
“Alright then princess, you got yourself a deal. Don’t come crying to me though after this. It can be rough down there.”
just how she likes it

Unknown/MC (mysme)
Title: Bite the Bullet
Fandom: Mystic Messenger
Pairing: Unknown(Saeran)/MC
Tags: Mature (graphic description of death, sexual innuendos), contract killer AU
Word count: 2485
Summary: Some people have more reasons to complain about their job than others.
Written for @unknownzine Once again thank you for the opportunity, beta reading and all the patience!! With each turn, he wandered farther from the noise of the main street, and deeper into the forgotten parts of the city. The light from the scarce street lamps glided over the puddles and shook under his heavy boots. No one passed next to him in the narrow alleys, but he knew he wasn’t alone. Maybe this was what the prospective believers felt when he was running the “background check” on them – the intangible impression that a pair of eyes was fixed on their every movement, the rising sense of panic as they felt the phantom of his breath on their necks. But with the subtle difference that he couldn’t be more unfazed. “It’s a good place, don’t you think?” Unknown said, turning lazily. And there she was, his shadow, with her little mouth wide open in shock. Her hands, in turn, they didn’t even budge, the gun steady in their clasp. Unknown had to admit he was a bit surprised too – that a frail thing like that could have a reason and the nerve to try to eliminate him.
“Not much of a talker, huh? Or are you scared of me?” Carefully leaving the blind spot, and making sure his face was not exposed, he edged closer to her. The girl stood firmly with her gun still pointed at his head. Interesting. “I like it here because it never feels alone, you know?” She visibly faltered, but wouldn’t look away from him. He wasn’t dealing with a complete newbie. “Cameras. It’s the back of a pawn shop, after all.” Recognition lit up her eyes, and she peeked behind him, just to find the ruthless lens staring straight at her. He towered before her after closing the remaining distance in one leap. His one hand grabbed her chin in a way far from affectionate, while the other dismissively pushed the silencer aside. “You can’t shoot me here, sweetheart,” Unknown whispered in her ear. She yelped in surprise when he yanked the gun completely out of her grasp, twisting her wrist in the process. And he didn’t stop there, having tucked her pistol next to his own, he continued squeezing her bones even tighter, just for emphasis. “Give me one reason why I should let you live.” “It’s n-not personal.” Oh? Difficulties speaking with your jaw crushed? “Let me go, and I’ll tell them I finished the job. That you’re dead. Just lie low for some time,” she continued despite his increasingly apparent amusement. “Okay, listen, I know who’s next.” Lies, lies, lies. It’s even cute, in a way. She really thinks she can get away with this. “Who sent you?” Another squeeze. “I never met him directly. All I got was your photo, the date, and the place; all delivered to me by some unimportant minion.” “Do you think I’m stupid? They told you about other targets, but you conveniently don’t even know who you’re working for?!” “I don’t work for any organisation, but I do have ears, and I can put two and two together.” “That’s even better. It means no one’s gonna miss you.” There was a squeak, followed by the sound of metal slamming against the brick wall. “Hey, kids! Why are you snooping around in here? Get out!” All Unknown got to do was to rearrange his hold on the girl in a less suspicious way before he glared at the clerk standing in the door behind him. She stumbled back when he let her free. “I’d show you how it’s supposed to be done, but it’s not my call. We’ll go on a ride instead; I want you to meet someone.” “Are you serious?” “It’s really not the time to act like a princess,” her kidnapper hissed in annoyance. “I’ll kindly remind you that I have two guns, and you have none. Do you really think you’re in a position to make a fuss?” “But you can’t kill me, now can you? You still need to wait for your boss’ orders, sweetheart.” MC knew she was pushing her luck with him, and hell, he really did have two guns, but it was still worth a shot. He couldn’t do anything to her till they got there – wherever this “there” was – and the more information she gathered before that, the better. “I would be nicer to my future interrogator. And a bit more convincing – I don’t buy a word you’ve said so far.” There was no other addition, but a frown when he bent over the stick to cuff her. “So you just so happen to have handcuffs at hand. Wait, I see – you’re this type.” A stern warning lingered in his eyes. His hands were just as cold as they were in the alley, and not a tad more delicate. There was no point in fighting just yet. Soon, her hand hung limply from the handle at his car’s door as if she was trying to get some breeze under her armpits or whatnot. He reassumed his place behind the wheel, turning the key in the ignition. A little dice dangled from its end. Classy. “They weren’t meant for you.” MC smiled wickedly. “Ouch. That’s not what a girl wants to hear. You could at least pretend I’m special.” Her kidnapper turned to her quickly with a deadpan expression, before the car finally kicked in to the motion, and they left the parking lot with a crunch of gravel under the tyres. “Where are you taking me?” “You really don’t seem to get the situation, so I’ll spell this once more for you. You don’t get to ask questions.” He was squeezing the hell out of that wheel. “You’ve been following me for the whole day. Why?” MC looked down on the frills of her dress, trying to burn the whole thing with her stare. She had really gone through this dumb masquerade for nothing, didn’t she? “They said it’s 3 million wons extra for every detail about you. Where you go, who you’re meeting up with – things like that. I was supposed to wait with the rest of the job for the moment when you’re done in the city.” She could no longer recognise the landscape blurring behind him in the car window. He slowly shook his head, “It means they don’t even kno —” The momentary chaos was all too familiar – a gunshot and a jolt when the bullet pierced through the bodywork startling the driver, who almost lost control of the vehicle. MC lurched forward on instinct, tugging painfully at her right wrist. Obviously, it would still be too late to save her, had the shot been accurate. Not that she was the target. “Who are they?!” Her kidnapper’s voice was unusually high-pitched. She glanced briefly at him – and, wow, he got paler, if that was even physically possible. Then, sitting up a bit, she checked the wing mirror. A black, shiny beast – at least two classes better than their car – right on their tail, with a barrel sticking out from the driver’s side. “No clue! Gimmie my gun back!” “So that you can finish your job? No fucking way! I will lose them.” He stepped on the gas. “It’s just one guy, and he’s also driving – I can handle him. Just give me the gun already! It’s our best shot!” MC was jolted against the door as the car turned, screeching in the last moment. Getting herself in place again, she fastened the seatbelt, going below her hanging arm. The good thing was that the streets were unusually busy for this hour, the bad thing – well, their excuse of a car wasn’t exactly a racer. “How do they know I’m still alive?” her driver yelled over the engine, weaving between the cars. MC scratched her chin absently. “They could send someone to check on me, but it only happens when... just who the hell are you?” “Maybe you’ll live long enough to find out.” The way he said it, there could be a hint of a sardonic smile under his mask, but, really, there was no way of knowing. “Well,” MC started, looking behind, but there was no shooter to be seen. “The money they offered for you seemed a bit too good to be true. Or easy.” “Was it worth it?” “Let’s say I’m having second thoughts right now.” “Shit.” It was almost too late when he noticed the side road. The sharp turn didn’t send her flying like the last time, but the car skidded on the slippery surface, nearly crashing into the pick-up on the adjacent lane. The loud thudding of MC’s heartbeat accompanied the honking of the annoyed driver they left behind. Reckless as it was, it seemed that the sudden change of the route did the trick. They had been driving for at least 15 minutes without anyone trying to shoot them. Having got out of immediate danger, MC started to consider her options regarding the danger seated next to her. He turned into another desolate, outgrown road with determination that led her to believe that the meeting point with his boss was closer than she’d like. “We’re out of petrol.” Her kidnapper announced in disbelief. “That bastard must’ve got the fuel tank.” “How much more?” “Nothing. We’re running on fumes.” MC closed her eyes and put all the irritation that had built-up in the last 24 hours into a solid kick on the dashboard. He merely eyed the muddy footprint adorning his glove box. And then, the car stopped. The palms of his hands banged on the wheel as he exhaled heavily. He took the keys out and left without a word. MC opened the door on her side and straightened her back with a groan. It was dawning already; the plane of navy blue shyly paled on the horizon. There was nothing around except for the waist-high grass smothering the road from the both sides. And no one in sight. “Hey! Didn’t you forget about something?” She jingled her handcuffs. The kidnapper had already managed to walk away quite a bit down the road. “No, I don’t think so,” he replied, without slowing down. She cursed under her breath, looking around for anything to pick the lock with. But even if she found it, she still had no car keys, no clue where she was... “Wait! I know who’s next! And more things too!” If he said anything, she couldn’t hear it. “They said that when they’re done with you, they just have to deal with ‘the other one.’” With one foot on the asphalt and the other one pushing at the door, MC tried to rip off the handle in the final act of desperation. She turned her head to gauge his reaction. “Does it mean anything to you?” All she could notice from that distance was that he was facing her, motionless in the middle of the road. One quick movement of his hand, and the mask fell to the ground. He rubbed his face as if he were trying to wake up. But suddenly, something came over him, and he was running back in her direction. It took one glance behind her back to realise why he was in a rush. The hitman was back. “Hurry up! Faster!” Her kidnapper-turned-saviour was next to her in no time. “Shit. Shit.” He was visibly struggling with the little key. “Don’t think it changes anything between us. You’re still going to the questioning.” “Can’t wait." The car was getting so close, they could hear it roaring. There was no time to lose, but something with the lock was clearly off. It was an odd moment for an even weirder thought, the guy without his mask looked much younger than she had initially suspected him to be. He simply didn't belong here. Someone shut the door mere steps away from them. They were shielded by their own door, and now it was really a matter of seconds; he froze when MC snuggled against his torso, reached behind his belt, pulled the gun out, and leaning out of the cover, fired three silent shots. The man fell to the ground in an instant. She came up to the body as close as the handcuffs let her. About 35 years old, average-looking. She’d never seen him before. Two wounds – one in the shoulder, another in his neck. She could have done better, but it wasn’t half bad for a right-handed person under pressure. “Why?” MC took her eyes off the corpse. Her kidnapper leant against the side of his car. His dilated pupils were glued to her with a sense of restlessness. “Why did you do that?” When he spoke, there was a miniscule quiver to his lips. “Would you rather have him kill both of us, or...?” It was his first body. This discovery was surprising, considering how he’d been trying to intimidate her this whole time. He nervously grimaced. They were holding each other at gunpoint. Would he really be able to pull the trigger? "They will come searching for you,” he stated. “Not if I finish the job now.” “Don’t,” he said quickly, “you can work for me.” She couldn’t help but laugh. “What can you offer me? Health insurance? Early retirement?” “The person that hired you is one of the most powerful people in this country. And he already knows that you failed once.” He motioned to the steady trickle of blood seeping from the corpse and running downhill. “Do you really think he’ll take a chance that you haven’t made a deal with me?” Unbelievable. “So, what’s the offer?” “We can help each other. I could make use of your personal... talents, and in return, you will be more than safe in Mint Eye.” He stiffened when she moved her gun and put it back in its place. MC stretched out her left hand, “Deal.” He shook it with an enigmatic smile. "What are we doing about him?” “Well, no one is going to look for him, I can guarantee you this. My bullets are untraceable, but the car...” “That won’t be a problem,” he said, taking out his phone. “We’re not that far from Mint Eye.” With the body happily pushed into the grass, they sat on the bonnet and waited for transport. The relief was unreal when MC rubbed the red marks on her wrist. That is, until her new boss tugged her other hand and clasped it together with his. “You can’t be serious.” “Easy, princess, it’s just a cover story for when they come here.” MC raised her eyebrows, “Kinky.” They stared for a while at the sun languidly making its way up above the fields of green. Both of them tired of this day beyond words. “What kind of job do you need me for anyway?” He dragged on his cigarette with an expression of utter seriousness. “You will be my personal assistant.”

saeyoung x MC ficlet (800)
NOTE: this focuses more on MC than Saeyoung so if your looking for something Saeyoung heavy or romance heavy this might not be your jam.
MC is having a bad day week month. so she asks saeyoung to take her for a drive to help her leave her troubles in the dust.
okay so I gotta be honest, this is 100% self indulgent venting. like i went for a drive yesterday trying to get rid of this “blah” the quarantine has stuck me in and I couldn't drive fast enough or get the music loud enough and the next thing I knew i was two towns over. sooooo yeah maybe it would have been easier if I could have done it more like MC in this story. IDK its probably not what sane people do but sometimes the only good medication is sensory overload to help shake loose all the crap you hold inside. I think Saeyoung would be the first one to understand that. Zen being the second maybe next time i need to vent like this I’ll write about Zen taking MC along on his motorcycle.
i probably wont add this to my master list since its light on actual mysme content.
it had started with a simple listlessness that had grown from your bones and spread into your mind like a cancer. Of course he had noticed. How could he not. The way you ever so slowly stopped doing all the things that were so integrally a part of you. he didn’t hear your voice singing along to music in the morning like he used to. You no longer decorated your cooking with all the cutesy touches you loved. Not even his trademark insanity could make your smile reach your eyes. So of course he had noticed. How could he not when he was watching you slip farther away from him every day.
“Saeyoung?” you ventured with trepidation “could you take me for a drive?”
He locked eyes with you for a fraction of a second, considering what could have caused such anxiety around a request you knew he would never refuse. “of course babe. I love driving with you, you know that”.
“I want to go fast. I want to go as faster than we’ve ever gone before.”
This was new. You had never asked him to drive faster, not that you were against his fast driving, but you had always simply been so content with whatever speed he had chosen for the day. “we go pretty fast sometimes, are you sure you want to go faster?”
“yes” you said resolutely not meeting his eyes “I want to turn up the music too. I want to feel the sound and the wind.”
He stood suddenly and you were worried he was going to scold you, call you reckless and stupid. Then his hand was in your hair and he was reaching for one of the many sets of keys over your shoulder. “let’s go babe.”
Minutes later the two of you were speeding down the highway windows rolled down and music blaring. His eyes were focused on the road and yours were locked on the passing scenery. You glanced at the speedometer as it pushed 105, with grim determination you unbuckled your seat belt drawing Saeyoung attention. He looked alarmed and grabbed your wrist gently, a silent request for you to buckle back up, for you to be safe. You pulled your wrist from his hand with little effort and leaned out the open window. The wind was rushing around you. it swept through your hair, roared in your ears, stung your eyes. Everything was so loud but you could still feel the weight in your chest, the hollow in your mind, the chill in your limbs. You screamed. Clenching your eyes shut and emptying your soul into the wind. You were half out the window now and you could feel the air whipping around you as your screamed yourself hoarse.
This wasn’t rational. It wasn’t safe or healthy or normal but as you felt the tears run down your face you knew it would get better. you pulled yourself back to your seat and reluctant to meet Saeyoungs eyes you covered your face as you sobbed. It felt like hours before your breath evened out enough to speak. Longer still before you found any words found their way to you.
“it’s cathartic” you choke, your voice broken and dry. “sometimes, everything goes silent and numb and it feels like I can’t breathe. Like I’m stuck in a void and no matter how much I scream or cry or bleed there’s no one there to notice. Even when people are with me they feel a hundred miles away and I reach out but never find them.”
You looked up then and saw him gripping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles turned white. His eye’s never leaving the road he spoke shakily “you could have hurt yourself,” your stomach dropped though you knew that he was right. “you could have hurt yourself, but I get it.” He sighed. You saw his fingers flex trying to force the tension from his grip on the steering wheel. “just tell me next time. I want to help.”
You swallowed the lump in your throat and nodded sharply. One of his hands found yours as he slowed the car down considerably. “I guess next time I need you to drive fast I could just ask you to help me catnap elly” you joked trying to lighten the mood.
“with elly at our side we will fly to the space station!” he declared excitedly
“hey now! Then which one of us would you marry?”
“not fair MC you can’t make me choose between my two best girls”
You were laughing now. Really honestly laughing for the first time in weeks. He loved the sound of your laugh and he swore to God that he would never stop trying to make you laugh like that.

I’ve never written a fic before (ok maybe when I was like 13) and I was just struggling a little mentally tonight. It’s a Long rambling off the Top of my head and it’s not gonna be any good but I tried. I would appreciate any constructive criticism you’d shoot my way.
It did help me feel better after writing this, so that’s a silver lining:D
I know the mysme fandom is kinda not as strong as it used to be, but reading other people’s fics really brightened my day, since I’m always on my own due to work.
I had this set as a longer timeline compared to the limited days in the game, and my MC clearly struggles with her own inner depression demons,
Sorry in advance about some stuff further down. I couldn’t help myself.
Italics are either MC’s thoughts or flashbacks.
———————————————————————————————
The way we are - 01
Dreadful, depreciating thoughts slowly crept their way into your thoughts, almost like they bore down on the back of your tightly shut eyes.
‘Not this again...’ you mentally scold yourself.
It had been a few weeks since your last battle. The constant struggle you fought deep within you- one only you knew about.
No one knew. No one could ever know. No one would be able to accept you. No one would be able to help either ways.
You curled yourself into a little huddle on your bed. The air-conditioner wasn’t on, leading the air to a standstill. It was suffocating, the stagnancy. But honestly, you couldn’t be bothered with the discomfort.
‘Stagnant air... stagnant just like my life has been...’
You chastised yourself again, me talking rolling your eyes at yourself, this time for being such a dramatic little bitch in your own little mind.
You hated yourself.
Things were actually getting better these past few weeks. You had the RFA and managing their affairs kept you solidly occupied.
Truthfully, that fateful day you encountered them, and they laid out the opportunity to you to help them be their new coordinator, you mentally leapt with joy at the chance.
Yes, the whole thing was pretty fishy, bogus, weird.
But you’d craved and relished the idea that you could be of some help to a greater cause. Your heart soared at the thought of being of use to someone.
It did come as a plus that the members of this new group were all such...unique personalities.
The lively, dramatic, narcissistic but caring Zen.
The adorable, innocent, wide-eyed Yoosung.
The strong and (seriously) overworked Jaehee.
The stern, calculative business man with the strangest streak of humour, Jumin.
And the mysterious hacker with the flaming red hair, the one whom you’d always felt you could ‘click’ with best, the one you were most attracted to,707.
In their own way, they lit up your life, the way they seemed to always be concerned with your wellbeing, peppering your day with their funny arguments and conversations.
Then shit hit the fan, didn’t it?
It had already been a few days since the whole ordeal with ‘Unknown’. It’s events still played fresh in your mind, but yet right now, they seemed so very far away.
Seven had come to your rescue, but since that day, he’s been anything but a knight in shining armour.
Before the incident, you both had so much fun through the limited calls to each other and the chat.
You felt warm feelings towards Seven blossom in your chest every time you heard his voice. And with the way he seemed to flirt back with you, you had the slightest impression that maybe, just maybe, he was interested in you too.
It felt so nice to banter with him, to feel some sort of electric connection between you two.
But these days, it seems that the happy-go-lucky, capable 707 was gone.
The other day, he even lashed out at Yoosung, who called you, distraught and crying over the incident.
You’ve tried to be strong, you understood that whatever transpired that day must have triggered Seven towards reacting this way. Constantly pushing you away, harshly berating you for leaving his sight, then berating you once more for coming too close to him. You wanted to be here for him, to let him know you cared for him more deeply then he knew and you’d accept and like to hear his story. You’d like to think of yourself as capable of helping provide comfort and reassurance to this beautiful mess of a man, despite whatever attitude shocking revelations of danger he may throw at you.
The key word here, is that you ‘tried’.
And sometimes, life gives you so much lemons, you get really sick of fucking lemonade.
You haven’t really left the room for about...maybe 2 days now, you estimate. Only sneaking out for essentials when you didn’t hear typing and it seemed that maybe Seven was asleep. Wallowing in your self-hatred, you think about the things you’ve wanted to accomplish and how you’ve failed them all.
Dammit, even the man you were so into seems to hate you now- and why shouldn’t he?
Depression had sinked her filthy claws into your heart once again, and though you may have won that battle against her before, you knew, deep in the recess of your mind, she was always waiting to crawl back out.
You hated every fibre of your being. Some days you’d wonder why you were even alive. What did you exist for? Even replying the emails from potential guests seem a chore too monumental right now. Why should they care about your invites? You’d ponder over what to send them, then delete everything you’ve typed out of fear you were being out of line or plain stupid, giving the RFA a bad name. Then you’d start to hate yourself more for letting the guests wait on your reply, get more upset with your own inefficiency. It was a vicious cycle in your mind, and it was always tough to break out of it.
You’ve managed before, and kept a happy persona in your interactions with the members. And that’s what you tried to do for Seven, even as he was scowling away, brows scrunched up in frustration at either his computer, or your mere presence. Either way, he let you know you were an annoyance he couldn’t be bothered to entertain.
And you started believing him.
So you’ve locked yourself away in your room. This was your problem to deal with. Your demons to face. You found a small comfort in hearing Seven typing away in the living room. It was odd, but knowing he was there made you feel safe...but so unwanted.
‘Come on MC... you’re a tough girl, so tough this one out. Yes you’re pathetic and there’s nothing more you hate in this world but yourself, but snap out of it.... please... happythoughtshappythoughtshappythoughtskittenspuppies..seven’svoiceandjokesandthoughtsoftakingyoutothemoon...’
Growling in frustration, you pull the pillow over your head and tried to scream into it, only to end up sobbing uncontrollably. Why were you like this? It’s so illogical...so, so stupid.
If only you could force yourself to be happy and cheery.
But admittedly, Seven’s attitude and coldness towards you really shut that cheery side of you down, faster than you’d like to admit.
You recall the freshest wounds he had inflicted upon you... you had tried to talk to him, as he seemed a little nicer that morning, despite being extremely sleep deprived, giving you a nod when you brought him coffee, and didn’t tell you off when you went to sit near him. You had wanted to express a little gratitude for how hard he was working for your sake.
—————
“Hey, Seven... thank you for working so hard fo-
‘“I’m just going to stop you there, you don’t have to say anything to me. You can just leave me alone.”’
“Aish~! I know that~! You’ve said that before, I just wanna thank you- you’re going to hurt my feelings you know” you pout, trying to stay light-hearted.
He takes off his glasses and rubs his temples upon hearing this. Sighing loudly, he adds;
“I don’t care about how you feel at all. I can’t be bothered if you’re hurt. I’m busy and don’t have time for this, so stop bothering me already!”’
“ I just-‘
‘“ just leave me alone.”’
You weren’t sure what made you decide to do this, but you whine quietly, feeling defeated, and perhaps this was actually a last ditch attempt to see if he cared.
“Seven...I’m going to start crying if you keep being so mean to me..”
He pauses, then he shifts in your direction, stony faced, cold liquid gold eyes bearing into your own brown eyes.
‘“Even if you cry, it doesn’t really matter to me.”’
Hearing that, you flashed him the best smile you could manage, hoping your pain wasn’t too obvious, muttered a few apologies and excused yourself to your room.
————-
...you were scared too, after the whole incident. But it seems he truly did not care about how you felt, like he hardly gave it any thought. like you were only a problem he had to fix ASAP to get a move on his life.
——————————————————-
Hours had probably passed when you jolt awake to a knock on your door.
“Oi, MC.” he starts in an annoyed tone “Are you okay? I tried calling you but your phone is dead. What are you doing in there for so long anyway?”
You weren’t sure what time it was, but you knew it must have been quite awhile if Mr cold-and-I-don’t-care-about-you was checking up on you. The room was dark, air still stale. Picking up your phone, you realise you haven’t checked it since the start of your mental battle. Yes, it was dead.
“MC?” You thought maybe you picked up a hint of worry though all that irritation this time. “.....I’m coming in.”
‘Wait what? Nonono did I lock the bloody door? He can’t see me like this I-‘
You bolt up from the bed, nearly tripping on your sheets as you rushed for the door, but you were a beat too slow, and the door was already ajar before your hand could touch the handle.
Golden irises pierce your gaze as your eyes adjusted to the invading light from outside your room, he pauses for a moment and his eyes seem to widen in shock at the sight of you...and your probably very disheveled appearance.
Hurriedly, you press your body against the back of the door, holding , preventing it from opening any further.
“MC?!” He called as he tried to peek his head past the door’s opening to get a better look at you.
You cleared your dry and raspy throat before finally replying the redhead-
“AHHHHh Seven! Geez, don’t you know that you’re supposed to give a lady more time to respond?! You can’t just open doors so suddenly you gave me such a start! Nearly let you see me all horrid looking after taking a nap ahaha ha”
Good lord you hope you sounded convincing, and not at all like you’ve been crying for the last godknowshowlong.
Seven goes quiet for a moment, and the tension in the air still hangs over you two. You notice one of his hands shift and holds onto the door frame as he steadily starts to push the door towards you. Trying your utmost best but failing to be lighthearted, you yelped and tried to swat his hand away, still fervently trying to push the door back against his force.
“Holddddup what are you doing Seveny stop trying to open the door! Didn’t you hear what I said???”
“I heard you. But I said I’m.coming.in.”
He pushes the door harder and you know you’re no match for his strength, and in a last ditch attempt to hide your appearance from him you grab a large towel you had hanging behind your door, wrap it over your head, letting it drape down your shoulders and dash for the corner of the room behind the door. You squat down, huddled in your new corner, and you hear Seven cuss when the door gives way easily at your absence, causing him to stumble into the room. Hearing him cuss a bit more, you sense his gaze sweeping the room, before feeling them land upon your huddled up frame at the corner. There’s a long pause before he quietly asks, incredulously
“..........MC, wh-what are you doing over there”
“I told you I was indecent looking now.... so I’m just going to stay in this corner since you so rudely barged in.” You quipped. Your choice of words may sound harsh but you say them in a sing-song manner. Seven just stays quiet after your reply, which leads you to ramble on, hoping to fill the silence
“So, uh, what’s up? Did you miss me? Come here cuz you’re missing little old me? Ahahhaha or did you manage to find something about this whole....shenanigan? Anyways a-aren’t you busy and all? I won’t bother you anymore so y-you don’t have to worry about me either ahhahaha...hahahah”
I sound insane.
You hear him sigh loudly, again, and it kind of reminds you of how your parents used to sigh at you when you were a disappointment. He mutters under his breath sometimes that’s sounds like ‘fucks sake’ and it cuts you off from your ramblings. You can’t stop the tears from springing to your eyes. You were still hurting, still wallowing. Trying to hide whatever negativity by being weird and using your own brand of humour. And now he was real, in your room and invading your space, you could feel your mind trying to come up with something, anything to avoid possible questions and maybe get him to leave.
“What’s all this? You’re being real weird now, hiding in that corner. I’ve seen you after your naps and you don’t usually look like....that. Turn around and face me, MC.”
You take a deep breathe through your nose, your way of stifling your sniffs from new tears,
“Ahhh you’re so indelicate, I can’t turn to face you, so uh why don’t you just wait outside and I’ll come out when I’m ready?”
“And when will that be? Talk to me MC. Something is wrong, isn’t it?”
No shit, Sherlock.
“Yaaaa Please God Seven, have mercy and give this lady a chance to *sniff* prep herself first”
You could almost hear him rolling his eyes at you, when he says
“Get out of the corner before I drag you out. Seriously, what are you even doing? “
Given his snappiness, you wouldn’t be surprised if he acted out his threat. But his question gave you a chance to exhibit your messed up coping mechanism.
“What am I doing? Fine, I’ll tell you. I’m not hiding myself, I’m prepping for my next cosplay.”
“HAH??” In a very, very annoyed tone.
“Here, look. “
In that moment, you slowly turned your body to face him, and put your hands down on the floor, still in a squatting position but with your hands between your knees. Towel still draped across your head and shoulder, you whisper in a low, slow voice,
“E.......Ed........Edward.....................Nii-san”
“..............’’
“GODDAMMIT MC “
Seven’s loud, booming shout really startles you, as you realise he’s left the room. You started to worry you’ve made him real angry this time, and wait for more cussing and shouting.....only to hear cussing and...laughter? His laughter grows, and soon he’s bellowing, and the raucous peals of laughter is music to your ears actually. Even though you’re still hurt from his words and demeanour, you’ve come to realise the effect this gorgeous man has on you, and it warms your heart a little that you’ve managed to make him laugh for the first time in a Long, Long time. He’s still cackling when you waddle towards the door, still covered mainly by the room’s darkness, peek out at him but with your body still in the same position.
“Hey man” you catch his attention and he stares at you, wiping tears away from his eyes “that’s not cool- that scene wasn’t funny at all in the anime-god you shouldn’t be laughing at this.”
Seven has his hands on his knees as you send him into another mini laughing fit.
You stay like this for awhile, feeling a little better after making 707 laugh, despite it not being your original plan at all. You hoped he’d have forgotten all about how you looked and how you ardently tried to hide from him the fact you’ve been a mess these last 2 days.
Now it just feels a little bittersweet. This whole thing is quite similar to how you’ve always dealt with hiding your hurt and pain from others, and a teeny, tiny part of you was sad that you felt the need to hide your feelings and emotions from the guy you adored.
Deep down, you wanted his comfort, but yet, was too afraid to seek it out.
You were now convinced that Seven perhaps truly had no feelings for you other than just as a ‘member of RFA’.
“Anyways...god Seven?”You whispered quietly once his laughter completely dies down. He looks up, having taken off his glasses to wipe his tears again.
“Ah?” He mutters breathlessly, looking at you through his fringe.
You realise you have it real bad, as this sight of him makes your breathe hitch a little and your heart beat faster. You will thoughts of him away as you continue
“I’m going to go and wash up, then um, head to bed now....“ you shift your hands to grip the towel’s ends, making it cover more of your face. Seven seems to notice how tightly you’re gripping the towel, and patiently waits for you to speak as your struggle to find the words.
“..I’m sorry about the other day, today. Well. Everyday. I hope you feel a little better... good night, okay? Take care of yourself, Remember to eat and sleep and I’ll just be here I Guess an—“
you stop yourself. You were rambling again. Pointless rambles. You forced a small smile, internally dying as you were now telling yourself to give up these feelings, bid him good night once more, and gently shut the door.
—————————————————
I’m sorry about the joke again. I had the idea and I couldn’t put it down.

Mysme-Fictober Day 12
October 12th 2019
Urban Legends
“Please stop! No more!” Yoosung closed his eyes and covered his ears. Saeran pulled him close with a soft chuckle.
“It’s not real Yoosung.” He whispered into his hair.
“Then why do we have to do it?” Yoosung clenched his jaw and glared at his boyfriend.
“Because it’s fun.”
“This isn’t fun, this is torture.” Yoosung whined.
Saeran stood behind Yoosung, both looking into the bathroom mirror, the sink full of water. Saeran kissed Yoosung’s neck and nipped the delicate skin. “If you do this for me, I’ll do that thing you like for you.” Saeran cajoled.
Yoosung rolled his eyes, “That’s not much of an incentive, you like that thing as much as I do.”
“I..uh…tha…damn. Yeah, I do.” He grinned and lay his chin on the other man’s shoulder. The only illumination was coming in from the frosted window in the bathroom. The neon sign across the street was flickering green and white. It gave the room an eerie feel. Yoosung elbowed him but gently and Saeran just chuckled.
Yoosung’s amethyst eyes were wide, his heart beating rapidly. He swallowed and closed his eyes.
“Come on babe, just one time. And I’m here with you, we’ll do it together.”
“This is stupid.”
“Then just indulge me ok?”
“You are going to owe me big!” Yoosung opened his eyes and tried to scowl at his boyfriend, capturing his mint green eyes through the reflection. Saeran simply grinned wider and dunked both their hands into the water. He looked like a little boy about to do something naughty. Yoosung rolled his eyes again and shook his head.
“Ok, on three, we’ll splash the mirror three times and say the name. Got it?” he asked, eyes sparkling, even through the gloom of the room.
“I got it, just, do it.” Yoosung, having made the decision to comply, just wanted to get it over with.
“One…two…three…” they splashed the mirror three times and chanted “Bloody Mary Bloody Mary Bloody Mary”. It was something Saeran had read about in an Urban Legends Around the World book. Supposedly, this ‘Bloody Mary’ would visit you if you called on her in this way. Nothing happened, of course, and they simply stared at each other in the mirror.
“Well, that’s that!” Saeran pulled away and Yoosung drained the water.
“What did you expect would happen?” he chided his boyfriend.
“Nothing I guess, but it was fun getting you to do it.” Saeran laughed and dragged Yoosung into the bedroom, swinging him onto the bed. Yoosung yelped but it was cut off as Saeran landed on top of him, pressing his lips against his.
“You jerk!” Yoosung pushed on his shoulders but Saeran just held on tighter. Yoosung’s eyes suddenly widened and he screamed, pushing Saeran off him and scooting back onto the bed. His eyes were glued to the corner of the room. “Whh…whhaa…wa…” he stuttered and pointed.
Saeran looked towards where Yoosung pointed but there was nothing there. The room wasn’t completely lit and there were areas of darkness that a single lamp didn’t encompass, but nothing in the room was completely dark.
“What is it? Yoosung, what’s wrong.” Saeran tried to comfort the man but he backed away even more.
“You…there…there was someone there! I swear Saeran! There was someone there!” he screamed, tears falling from his eyes in despair. He buried his face in his hands and his shoulders shook visibly.
Saeran took him into his arms and berated himself for such a foolish thing to have done to Yoosung. Several more times during the night Yoosung exclaimed that there was someone else in the room. A woman with long stringy black hair and empty eyes wearing a white nightgown. He said she appeared to be soaking wet, and when he closed his eyes, he said he could still hear the dripping water on the floor.
Saeran was beside himself with worry. He called Saeyoung and the entire RFA showed up. Yoosung sat on the sofa, his hands over his face, doubled over and shivering while the others discussed what to do. MC sat next to him and tried to soothe him. Saeran was in tears at how horribly things had gone, blaming himself for the calamity.
The sobs coming from Yoosung changed as they were talking, and they all turned towards the hunched over blonde boy. MC’s arm had stopped midway down his back, her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
“Are you…laughing?” Saeran accused as he took a step towards his boyfriend. Yoosung’s head jerked upwards as he threw himself against the back of the sofa, his eyes closed, his mouth gaping for air, his hand on his stomach. He was laughing so hard there was hardly any sound coming out of his mouth. “You asshole! I was worried sick!” Saeran clenched his jaw and his hands.
“I…got…you!! All of you!!” Yoosung chortled, tears running down his cheeks. MC, Jaehee, and Zen were soon joining him in laughter, relief making their heads and bodies lighter. Only Saeran, Saeyoung and Jumin still looked upset.
“I can’t believe you would do something like this…” Saeran began.
“Oh come off it Saeran, how many times have you and Saeyoung pranked Yoosung? Admit it, he got you good, all of us. Good job Yoosung.” Zen scoffed, giving Yoosung a high five.
“That…that’s…not…ARGH!” Saeran really couldn’t deny the validity of Zen’s observation. Yoosung was just always such an easy target and it was cute seeing him flustered. He sat heavily on the sofa, still unwilling to stop being angry.
Saeyoung was red in the face and just kept shaking his head in disbelief.
Jumin pulled out his phone and began to dial. “This is Jumin Han, cancel the psychiatrist, the priest, and the exorcist, we won’t be needing them.”

Yoosung Kim’s Guide to a First Relationship
yo! the sales for @yoosungkimzine went through very successfully, and thus im able to post my full piece for it. here we go i guess.

Tip #1: Kissing
Yoosung’s first kiss with MC is his first kiss in general. It’s expected to be a little clumsy. The fact that it’s a spontaneous public display happens to be enough to mask the clumsiness.
On a related sidenote, he really didn’t think about how much the eyepatch would factor into the situation—and if he did, he assumed it wouldn’t really have anything to do with it. Lips and eyes are different, and kissing is always portrayed as instinctual and easy on television, so why would it matter? Except, well, depth perception is kind of important when it comes to just about anything, and so his first kiss is really, really good, but he’s also mostly kissing the corner of her mouth, because of the lack of aforementioned depth perception. Whoops.
That said, it isn’t the first kiss that’s especially complicated. It’s all the other ones. There are a lot of intricacies involved in kissing, or, Yoosung feels like there are. Even simple things, like a kiss on the cheek upon meeting each other, seem complicated. Is he supposed to initiate it? Would it be weird if he asked beforehand? Would it be even weirder if he didn’t ask? The latter seems more likely—what if he makes her uncomfortable? He’d never want to overstep his bounds, but how does one even ask about that sort of thing? Zen would know what to do—wait, thinking about what his friends would do while he’s on a date is weird, right? This is terrible.
“Yoosung,” says MC, as they tread the sidewalk, “You’re thinking too much.”
Yoosung manages a semi-humorous response. “I am not. I’ve never had a thought in my life.”
“You have been looking at me like you wanted to say something for five minutes now,” she replies, “And you’ve had lots of thoughts. In fact, you’re having entirely too many thoughts right now.”
She does have a point. He could be getting into his own head about it. He gets into his own head about a lot of things, and it’s good sometimes! MC likes that he’s thoughtful, or at least she says that she does, and Yoosung tends to believe most of the things she says. She’s a very honest person. She has no reason to lie to him, and Yoosung has no reason to believe she would lie to him.
No reason.
At all.
Except, well, Yoosung is still a victim of his own insecurities, and though he has confidence in MC’s honesty, there is some small part of him that thinks she could just be saying things to avoid offending him. And as soon as the thought crosses his mind, he regrets it. This was supposed to be a fun day, and his brain just had to inform him that he’s a terrible boyfriend who has no idea what he’s doing—
“Hey,” says MC. “Look at me.”
Yoosung is torn away from his thoughts, which is a very welcome thing, at the moment. “I’m looking,” he says.
“Tell me what’s wrong,” replies MC. “Because I can tell something is, and I want to help.”
“Nothing! It’s nothing—why would anything be wrong? Maybe you’re thinking too much. Maybe—” he stops. “Okay, yes, something is wrong.”
“And what is that?”
“I want, to, uhm,” Yoosung stops. For a second he thinks, this is going to be so awkward; but then he meets MC’s eyes again and she’s not judgemental in the slightest, and it kind of dawns on him that he’s worrying about nothing. “I want to kiss you.”
Okay. Still awkward, and every second he spends marinating in that awkwardness is another second wherein he wants to call this whole thing off and try again another time, like when you fail a level in a video game and load at the last safe checkpoint.
MC blinks, and then she goes a bit pink in the face. “Oh! Is—is that all?” she says, trying to maintain her cool. Yoosung says ‘trying’ because it’s clear that she’s just as embarrassed as he is, which is actually very reassuring. He isn’t alone in all of his overthinking and insecurity.
He nods, and MC meets his eyes before looking down at her feet. “I think,” she starts, lifting her eyes to meet his again, “that is a very fixable issue.”
Yoosung is pretty sure he undergoes a bit of a malfunction, for a quarter of a second—Yoosung.EXE has stopped working, would you like to restart or wait for him to respond? Apparently MC picks the second option, because then he says, “Okay,” and the second challenge arises, which is actually kissing her, rather than just thinking about it for longer than necessary. “Could you close your eyes?”
“Oh, you’re right! That’s a thing people do when they kiss,” MC jokes, “Imagine if they didn’t, though? Like, if we kissed and I was just staring directly at you.”
Yoosung feigns a frightened shiver, “That’s terrifying.”
“I know, right! It would be really funny, though. I should stop talking. I’m going to stop talking… now. Right now,” she stops talking, and Yoosung is semi-disappointed. He does love listening to her talk, but he also likes kissing her, which he can’t do while she’s talking. Relationships are so hard.
He places one of his hands on MC’s shoulder, and he brushes the dark hair from her face with the other before leaning down to press a quick peck on her lips. Is it weird to be doing this in the middle of the sidewalk, in broad daylight? Yes. Does the joy of kissing her outweigh the weirdness? Absolutely.
When he pulls away, MC eyelids flutter open and she says, “I love you,” and Yoosung’s heart flips. Her face goes red and she adds, “Well! Nice exchange we had there. Good communication.”
“Yeah,” says Yoosung, before adding, “I love you, too. You know that, right?”
MC’s hands move to cover her face. “Yeah, I know,” she almost squeaks.
“What are you doing with your hands?”
“I’m smiling too much, and it would be embarrassing —”
“That’s not embarrassing! That’s cute!”
“Of course you think so!” MC says, and then she bursts into laughter and Yoosung follows suit. “I love you,” she says, the giddiness dripping off of her voice.
“I love you,” says Yoosung, and he means so much when he says it. He means it with his whole heart.
She walks closer to him, looks up at him and closes her eyes. They kiss again. This time, it’s easier. He can’t stop smiling.
Tip #2: Scheduling.
“Tuesday?”
“I have classes on weekdays. What about the weekend?”
“Don’t hate me, but I have to visit one of my friends over the weekend.”
“I couldn’t hate you for that!”
“I know, I know. I just—” MC groans, “I just wish I was free so I could see my boyfriend for once!”
“I wish I was free so I could see my girlfriend!” replies Yoosung, leaning back in his desk chair and looking up at the ceiling. He and MC have been on the phone for around ten minutes now, talking about this and that, but mostly trying to set up their next date. As it turns out, they’re very busy people.
It goes on like it has for a little while. As it stands, the two of them are pretty busy for the month, and the days where one of them isn’t busy are days where the other happens to be busy. It’s very inconvenient. Yoosung has school, which he might have been okay with putting aside in the past, but now he’s trying to do better and ready himself for the future and all of that other garbage. It’s a total bummer. If only past-Yoosung was the one with the girlfriend, then he’d have so much more time to hang out with her. Of course, he’d have remained game addicted and vaguely depressed, but whatever. You win some, you lose some.
MC, on the other hand, has an active social life in addition to the fact that she also goes to school, and the universe didn’t even have the decency to make them go to the same university. Truly, nothing in this world is fair. And, speaking of nothing being fair, Yoosung also has his extracurricular obligations. He may have cut down on LOLOL, but he has friends who he plays with from time to time, and he’d be remiss to flake on them; and then that’s not even getting into the activity meetings he attends at school.
“What if,” says MC, after a few minutes of contemplation, “I came to one of your meetings with the meteor study club? Or maybe I could get into LOLOL or something?”
“For real?” Once Yoosung manages to process the concept, he can hardly contain his excitement. “For real?!”
“For real!” says MC, “I mean, I already play a few video games, and it doesn’t seem that hard to get into. And the club meetings sound pretty cool!”
“They are! And LOLOL can be a little overwhelming, but if it’s just me and you and my group of friends it should be fine—” Yoosung cuts himself off, “I should get into the stuff you’re into!”
“Oh, it’s fine! I don’t wanna drag you into anything.”
Yoosung shakes his head, and then quickly realizes that he’s on the phone and MC can’t see him. “It’s not fair if you’re just getting into the things I’m into! And it’s really cool to think about us sharing interests and everything and—” he stops himself before he can ramble for too long, “I would be totally cool with it.”
MC is quiet for a moment, and then she speaks. Yoosung can tell she’s smiling. “Maybe you can visit my school, then. I’ll introduce my cool boyfriend to all of my friends.”
“And I’ll get to introduce my cool girlfriend to all of my friends! Well, I mean, you already know most of my friends because of RFA and everything, but the other ones! You can meet one of my LOLOL friends,” he says, “And you can meet my friends from school! They’re also pretty cool. You met Star through email for the party, actually!”
“I did! And, uh, sorry for the typing in the background. I’m trying to make a LOLOL account. Should I go healer?”
Okay, maybe this is stupid, but just hearing his girlfriend talk about trying out his interests is really, really nice. Everything is nice with her, but this especially. “I love you,” he says, dreamily.
“I mean, that doesn’t exactly answer the question, but you are killing me! You’re killing me dead!”
“With love?”
“With so much love! I’m getting overloaded. I’m going to shut down soon, like an overloaded computer.”
“Oh! That reminds me—do you have a desktop? I wouldn’t try installing the game on your regular laptop if you don’t. It might not run very well, and it could overheat your computer,” he stops, “I’m sorry, I’m getting over excited about this stuff.”
“Don’t be! I love when you’re excited. It’s very, very cute,” says MC.
“You’re cute!”
“No, you’ve already dominated the cute economy. It is shattering in your wake. You can’t take back the damage you’ve done.”
It goes on like that for a while, and Yoosung is eternally grateful that his girlfriend is as smart and funny (and cute) as she is, and that of all guys, she likes him! It really is a statistical miracle. Of all guys, MC is willing to make time for him. She’s willing to look into his interests to spend time with him. And she doesn’t get bored when he starts raving about that one time he built a gaming PC or how the LOLOL community is actually improving now that it’s becoming more popular—she doesn’t mind any of that. She likes him, and not despite his interests or quirks, but because of them.
That’s never been anything Yoosung imagined for himself. It’s always been something he thought other guys got out of relationships; something that was reserved for those much more together than he was. Yet he is that guy, now. He’s the guy in the perfect relationship, with the perfect girl, which brings up the question…
What does she see in him?
Tip #3: Jealousy.
He starts thinking more heavily on this when he sees MC talking in the chatroom the next day. 707 is teaching her how to code, and it’s completely innocent—he knows nothing is going on—but his mind can’t help but wander.
Because, yeah, nothing is going on right now. Maybe nothing will be going on for a while longer, but what if? What if she slowly but surely begins to realize that Yoosung isn’t anything special, but the other guys in RFA are? Zen is an actor, and he’s popular with girls already. Mostly Jaehee, but other girls too. Jumin is almost comically rich, (like, the kind of rich where it’s represented in a cartoon as a pool of gold coins and extremely high bills) and he’s handsome and mature. 707 is funny and smart, and he and MC seem to get along really well. And Jaehee isn’t a guy, but she is intelligent and well put-together, which are things Yoosung has yet to fully achieve. (Well, he is intelligent. He has a million test scores from high school that tell him so, but he doesn’t know if any of that knowledge truly equates to the real world. It certainly needs some work, considering the last few years wherein he did nothing but play video games and slack off.)
So when he watches the chat pass by, and 707 talks about how nice it is to be a teacher and MC responds with a string of smiling emoticons, it kind of stings. Even when Yoosung knows it doesn’t mean anything. Even when he knows that nothing would ever happen—there’s something about his own insecurity that always gets in the way.
This dreadful thought passes into the next day, and Yoosung and MC are going on a date—MC is coming to one of the meteor study meetings tonight, and it’s actually a really special meeting. Apparently it’s expected that the stars will be much more visible today than they are normally, so they’ve a stargazing event in the park. Some of the club members bring telescopes and beach blankets to sit on, and the park is really pretty in the day already, so Yoosung is pretty excited to see it under the moon and starlight. It sounds really romantic, and it definitely would be, if not for the myriad of baggage he’s bringing to it.
And he knows that it’s stupid. He knows the jealousy is an ugly emotion, and that MC would never hurt him in any way. He knows that, and yet he still feels like this, and he feels kind of pathetic for that. The thought pesters him throughout the day with MC, and she seems to notice his irritation.
“Babe,” she says, and that’s almost enough to make him drop all hostile emotions, because that’s a pet name and she said it so casually—but then he thinks about how one day, she could call someone else babe, and he mentally damns himself for ruining such a cool moment. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“You aren’t fine! You said ‘I’m fine’ in a very not fine way.”
“I’m fine, really,” says Yoosung, and MC narrows her eyes at him, but she seems to let it go. They talk about other, more casual things. For a moment, it seems like all of his previous worries can just melt away.
Except, then MC’s phone buzzes, and all of that bitterness floods right back. Apparently Yoosung doesn’t do a very good job of hiding his stupid, terrible jealousy, because MC recognizes that something is off as soon as she looks at him.
“Seriously, Yoosung, what’s wrong?”
For a moment, he loses himself and says, “I don’t know, why don’t you ask Seven—” and then he cuts himself off, immediately realizing how impeccably wrong that statement was, “Oh, God. I’m sorry, I just—” he inhales, and he looks down at his feet.
“Yoosung, it’s fine,” MC puts a hand on his shoulder, “What’s bothering you about Seven?”
“Nothing! I’m just—I keep feeling—augh,” he groans, “I’m jealous. And I keep feeling jealous, all the time, even when I know it’s dumb!” There’s a moment of silence that passes, and every second is one where Yoosung worries that he’s ruined everything.
“It’s not dumb, it’s natural,” reassures MC, “And you’ve got nothing to worry about.”
“I mean, I know that, though,” he says, “the problem isn’t that I don’t think you’re faithful—I know you are. I just, I don’t wanna feel the way I do. I don’t wanna be that guy.”
“And you’re not!” says MC, “You didn’t get upset with me, aside from that one comment, which you immediately apologized for. You didn’t try going through my phone or tell the other guys not to talk to me or anything. You talked to me about it.”
“I—” he stops, “You’re being too nice.”
“I’m not! I promise, I don’t think any less of you for feeling that stuff,” she says, “In fact, I feel better that you at least talked to me about it. And, well, I’m gonna say something super embarrassing, so don’t make fun of me,” she inhales, and then starts, “I like you a lot, Yoosung, and I want you to talk to me about the things that you feel, because I want this to work. I want to be with you for as long as humanly possible, and I know that these things only work if we, you know, communicate.”
Yoosung pauses, and he looks at MC. He really is so in love with her. He’s in love with everything about her. Everything that contributes to her is something he’s in love with. And he could voice all of this, but then he’s suddenly very aware of tip #1 and, well.
“I love you,” he says, “Can I kiss you?”
“See! What’d I tell you about communication,” tries MC, her face quickly going red, “I. Um. Absolutely.”
They kiss, and it’s a soft, brief kiss that feels like it could last a lifetime. She threads a hand through his blond hair, and she says, “This is a really, really awkward thing to do at your stargazing event,” when they pull back and suddenly Yoosung is very aware of the fact that he and MC are in a public park with their other club members. Star, at least, is pretty understanding—as she seems to be squealing to someone else about this very private moment she just witnessed.
They kiss once more that day—well, that night. As the moon settles and the stars beam in the ink-dark sky, and he holds MC’s hand and points at the constellations, he meets her eyes and he realizes that he never needs to worry about anything, because they have it all together. They can learn as they go, and they can take those lessons and carry them over into every future issue. He thinks about these past few weeks, from the first text to now, and all of the problems they’ve encountered, and all of the solutions they’ve come to.
And in his heart he’s confident that they’ll do just fine.

hey anon! in the interest of fairness, i also did 3 separate pieces for you. i had a loooooot of fun writing these so i do hope you enjoy!
almost a series of au’s. these all ended up being rather different from the mysme world we’re used to. this one is more of a pining jumin.
8. “I just wanted an easy day with my boyfriend/girlfriend. Is that too much to ask?”
preview:
Jumin was unsatisfied with it. It reminded him too much of V and Rika. He'd never allowed himself to think on his feelings for Rika, for V's sake. V was his best friend and the closest bond Jumin had in his life. To think of V's fiancee in any way other than “best friend's lover” would have been disrespectful and would have sent Jumin down a truly unpleasant path.
She called him again. It was after 10 at night and when his phone rang, Jumin knew it had to be MC. She liked to call him after her dates. For some reason. He had wasted many minutes wondering how their relationship had evolved into what it was. But MC had come into Jumin's life, the newest RFA member. She had no preexisting bonds with any of them but she was a bright light in an organization that had all but lost its way. She carried a sense of beauty and good wherever she went. Zen called her cute but Jumin found that wasn't enough. Luciel, at times, called her an angel. That was closer but still wasn't completely accurate. Jumin found she carried a certain sense of elegance similar to Elizabeth the 3rd. MC was immaculate and pristine.
Jumin had fallen in love with her.
It hadn't be a conscious decision of his, of course. He didn't simply wake up one day and think, Today is the day that I will fall in love with MC. It happened gradually for him. And they got closer until Jumin was a very good friend of hers. But he was only a friend because she was in love with someone else. She had a boyfriend. And as their friendship developed, MC had begun to turn to Jumin each night after a date. He didn't remember how it started. He was happy to hear her voice each night but to listen to her gush about another man was exhausting. It was torture most nights.
So when his phone rang late at night, he knew it was MC returning from a date. Many nights, he debated picking up. But the desire to speak to her and hear her voice often compelled him to accept the call. On that night, however, the call came and Jumin answered. Normally MC would give a cheerful hello, ask how he was, and launch into her moment-by-moment synopsis of her date. This time, she was meek and quiet.
“MC? Is something wrong?” he asked, sitting up, finding his attention focus solely on the sounds on the other end of the phone. So Jumin definitely heard her sniffle as if she was crying.
“He left me…’” she finally whispered, the heartbreak painfully evident in her voice.
Jumin felt his blood run cold. First came the disbelief. How could anyone leave her? She was so ideal in every way. There was anger. Someone had made MC cry and that was unacceptable. And as conflicting as it felt, Jumin was hopeful. Could he steal her away now? “Can you tell me what happened?”
He could imagine MC nodding. She was the type who would nod or point while on the phone, never even realizing the other party couldn't see her. “Yeah. It's…a little hard to talk about, though. We went out and he took me to dinner. We were planning to see a movie afterwards. But during dinner, he said he wanted to talk. And he broke up with me. Maybe there were signs before but I was just blind and stupid? I just wanted an easy day with my boyfriend. How did this happen?”
Jumin wished he could be with her. Offer her a glass of wine to calm her nerves. Maybe even put his arms around her. She needed comforting. “He does not deserve you,” he said softly. “Let that man go. There is no reason to focus your attention on one who does not deserve it. I am certain you can find happiness again.”
“I'm just…happiest when I'm in a relationship. I really love the romance, the closeness. The love. I just want that. But when it's like this, I wish I could be like you and just not have any interest in love.”
Jumin felt his body tense at her words. Uninterested? No, he wasn't. Not anymore. Perhaps in the past but now, he saw the value in such a relationship. “You also see me that way?” he asked. “I am not uninterested. In fact, I, too, am in love and wish nothing more than to be with her.”
He heard MC gasp quietly on the other end of the phone. “What?! Jumin? You are? Really? Who?! You have to tell me! I'll help you! I want you to be happy!” The sudden excitement of Jumin's confession temporarily pushed her heartbreak aside. Now, MC was eager to learn everything about Jumin's mystery woman.
Jumin didn't answer at first. He suddenly regretted his words. He couldn't confess to her. Not when she had just broken up with her boyfriend. But at the same time, he felt those suffocating threads loosen. “She's someone I call a friend first of all. She does care for me as a friend. She has a beautiful soul. She cares nothing for my money and has never once claimed I have no emotions. She was patient in winning me over. The reason I am alone is because she was unavailable. Her affections were given to another man.”
“Jumin, that's so sad. How can you stand it?”
Jumin sighed, closing his eyes. How could she not understand the situation? “Are you truly dense? It is you, MC. I am in love with you.” He didn't want to tell her. But the sense that she might not know and the satisfying SNAP of those tight threads in his mind, and he had no choice. He had thought she could initially untangle the mess he'd been cultivating since childhood. But now she was breaking it. Cutting her way through with a metaphorical scythe.
MC didn't respond right away. There was no way she could. Not after Jumin of all people had just told her he loved her! She'd never even thought to look at Jumin that way. “I'm… Jumin… I guess I'm honored. You're so important to me and I want you to be happy. But I had no idea. And I just had a boyfriend not two hours ago. I need time. I can't respond to what you said right now. I just can't. Can we maybe still be friends for now?”
For some reason, he didn't feel that disappointed. “You are worth waiting for. I will continue being your friend. And the day when you wake up and realize you also love me, I will be here, waiting for your call. And that is all I will say on that matter until that day comes.”
His confidence and willingness to wait made her blush. “That sounds like a good plan,” she whispered, smiling for the first time since that fateful dinner.

oh boy, oh boy, oH BOI. Alice is back at it again with the mysmes headcanons!! :00 Anyways, can I request a RFA + Saeran + V with College!Workaholic!MC who wants to practice self-care but she just can't since there's this overwhelming tide of anxiety that washes over her that revolves around the idea of; "If you fail this exam, you'll fail all semester, if you fail all semester, you'll fail at life. You wouldn't be able to support yourself much more your significant other." ? Thank you^^
Heyyy🙈 Sorry for taking so long to write this, but here it comes!!
That MC sounds sooo relatable xD The same thing happens to me, so here comes also a shoutout to those who feel identified by them: YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR GRADES. Don’t stress over them, do it as best as you can, but don’t beat yourself down about it. Stay healthy and take care of yourself!! As my favourite singer and role model, Sierra Boggess, would say: you are so enough
Thank you for your request, lovely
Yoosung
He thought he got stressed over school. He had been so wrong.
“MC, why don’t you take a rest?” he asked them. They had been studying since they woke up, eating while re-reading their notes, and the only rests they had taken had been to go to the toilet.
“Yoosung, don’t you understand that I can’t fail this exam? That I can’t be a failure?! What would my professors, my parents, everyone say?! They’ve put so much faith in me! And if I fail I’ll be… nothing, no one, worth less.”
“That’s not…”
“Of course it’s true, Yoosung, not everyone has the luxury of being careless as you!” MC realised they had been unfair the moment they had uttered the words. It had been the stress talking for them. And Yoosung’s face made them feel even more repented and guilty. “I’m sorry, Yoosung, I didn’t mean that.”
MC stood up of their chair and embraced him just as he started sobbing.
“You’re not careless, Yoosung, I’m sorry. You’re amazing. It’s just… you have so many qualities. You are so much more than your grades.”
“And so are you!” Yoosung exclaimed, angry and hurt. “If only you realised.”
MC agreed at that moment that they had had enough studying that day. They would spend the day making it up to Yoosung for being cruel and when they finally showed how repented they were and that they really didn’t mean it, Yoosung soothed them.
“Your studies are important, I know it well, but you are so amazing! I don’t love you because of your grades! Besides, you already know what you’re studying, you should relax. What if I study some more and you study less, alright?”
“Deal.”
It would take sometime for them to be able to fulfil that promise, but they would manage. Yoosung would feel more proud of himself, and MC would be healthier
Zen
MC was locked up in the bathroom with a nervous breakdown.
“Babe, why don’t we talk about it?” he insisted, knocking softly on the door.
When MC replied, ugly crying, it sounded as if she had thrusted a mop into their mouth, so he couldn’t really make out much of what they had said, but the words “failure,” “disappointment,” and “studies,” which told him pretty much everything about the situation.
He took his guitar, sat at the door of the bathroom and started singing Perfect by P!nk. MC eventually stopped crying and opened the door of the bathroom. Zen put aside his guitar and they sat on his lap. He put his arms around them and caressed their hair.
“I know people out there make it believe that our worth is measured by our grades,” he said. “Damn, that’s what I grew up to. That’s one of the reasons why I decided to drop my studies, to show them that’s not true. MC, you’re much more than your grades! You’re intelligent, supportive, sweet… you’re so many things! And you are doing really good. So stop stressing over your grades and studies. Let’s relax a little. I know you’ll get the perfect mark anyway.”
MC finally agreed and they spent the rest of the day playing songs on the guitar.
Jaehee
She understands MC better than anyone, since she was the same when she was in college.
MC was sobbing on the sofa, claiming she was never going to make it to the top of her class, that she was a failure, and Jaehee made a cup of coffee for herself and of their favourite drink and took it to the sofa. She cuddled MC and let them cry as much as they needed to.
“MC, you’re not a failure. You are going to make it to the top of your class, I know it. I’ve seen how much effort and interest you put in your studies, more than what you need to be on the top one. And even if you didn’t make it, that wouldn’t make you a failure. You love what you study, don’t you?”
MC nodded.
“Then enjoy it. Learn and enjoy of what you study. Even if there are some courses that you don’t like that much, learn and enjoy of the experience of being in college. You are not your grades, MC.”
“But my future…”
“Do you really think your grades define your future?” she asked with a low chuckle and MC nodded, puzzled. “Look at me. The best of my class, the model student, worked for C&R… and discovered that my dream was opening a café. And here I am. I would have been able to open it without stressing as much as I did.”
“Then the years and effort you spent in college were meaningless?”
“Not at all. I learned lots of important things, things that help me with the café now, and also helped me to find out what I didn’t want to do. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for those years. But my point is that you are much more than your studies, and your grades don’t define your future. Alright?”
MC smiled and nodded, and Jaehee hugh them tight.
“Now, let’s relax for today. What would you say to watching some of Zen’s musicals?”
Jumin
MC had spent all day locked up in their room. Jumin had always been really encouraging about their attitude towards their studies, believing it was the right thing. Nevertheless, even he understood that was too much.
He knocked on their door and called them in a soft voice.
“Why don’t you take a break, MC?”
MC stormed out of the room in tears.
“Jumin, I’m so stupid!” they exclaimed. “I can’t memorise this paragraph! I can’t! I just can’t!!! I’m going to fail the exam tomorrow! I’m going to be a disappointment, a failure, and all that because I’m stupid!!”
It took a while to Jumin to compose after MC’s exclamations and tears, but he put his arms around them and lead them to the sofa. He served two glasses of wine and put Elizabeth on MC’s lap as they kept on crying.
“You are not stupid, MC,” Jumin said. “There are different kinds on intelligence,” he started saying. “Emotional, mathematical, linguistic, musical… I believe you excell in several of them. You taught me a lot about my own emotions,” he smiled and MC nodded, still pouting. “People are usually graded by their mathematical intelligence. The system is designed that way. The fact that you are not outsanding in school doesn’t mean you are not inteligent, but that you are not excellent in that field or that you should be evaluated other way. There is much more in you than what your grades or resumee says, MC,” he kissed their temple. “Moreover, a paragraph will not make you fail an exam.”
Suddenly, MC said the paragraph they were trying to memorise aloud.
“… excuse me, what was that?”
“That’s the paragraph, Jumin!! I did memorise it!!”
“You just needed some rest and calmness, then, to retrieve the information you had stored in your head,” he kissed their temple and they chuckled. “Now, why don’t you try to take more breaks and carry out a healthier routine?”
“I’ll try. Thank you, Jumin.”
707
Usually both of them locked themselves up, Seven doing some work and MC studying. They used to take breaks at the same time, and everything seemed to go healthily. That is, untill the exam weeks started.
“MC, baby boo, don’t you think it’s time to do a little restie rest?”
MC looked at him with narrowed eyes and a pissed off expression to say “no.”
After some pouting and whining and complaints because the love of his life didn’t want to spend time with him, MC turned to Seven with an angry:
“Stop that! You don’t understand!!! You are so clever and intelligent, and you didn’t need to spend as much time as I do studying, I get it, but normal people like me do! I don’t want to be a failure!” MC’s angry voice started turning into a crying one. “I want to help supporting our family too, you know? I don’t want to be a disappointment to my parents, you… or myself.”
Seven looked at them, puzzled, and when they started sobbing, he embraced them and took them to bed to cuddle.
“MC, you are doing so much for me already. Maybe you are not supporting our family economically yet, but one day you will, and I can always count of you for more important stuff. You are always there when I need it, and that’s something much more important than your grades, MC. You don’t need to be the best in school not to be a failure. You just have to be you.”
He tightened his embrace and kissed their forehead.
“Besides, I’m sure you’ll be on the top ten of your class at the very least! You are inteligent, MC, and you’ve put so much effort in this. I know you’ll make it. For now, how about a rest. We can take a nap together or, even better, go for a ride in one of my babies~ What do you say?”
“A nap sounds great,” MC nuzzled his neck and he chuckled.
“Whatever my precious wishes~”
V
As Jumin, V was always very supportive and encouraging with MC’s studying routine. He usually brought them snacks and drinks during their studying sessions and reminded them of taking breaks. Everything run smoothly until the day before one of MC’s exam.
MC had spent all morning locked up in their room, as usual, but when V opened the door to bring them food, he found them curled up in their bed, crying.
He left the tray on the table and approached them, cuddling them.
“MC, what’s wrong? You know you can tell me anything.”
“It’s the exam, V. I’m going to fail and then I’ll be worthless. All I’ve done until now will be meaningless.”
“You’re not going to fail, MC,” V tightened his embrace. “You’re going to have excellent grades, as usual, and even if you failed, you wouldn’t be worthless and your effort wouldn’t have been meaningless.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“You are much more than the result of an exam. I know you don’t believe this now because we’ve been educated to believe college and out grades are everything, but that’s not true. I used to believe the same thing, but you made me see I’m much more than that. I’m not my grades in school, I’m not my career in photography. I’m an artist, I’m your love,” he kissed their temple and MC chuckled and nodded in agreement. “And so are you. You are my love, my muse. You are considerate, clever, sweet, and there’s so much light in you.”
“Thank you, V. I love you.”
“I love you too. Do you want to go for a walk? To breathe fresh air, put your mind on other things…”
“I’d love that.”
Saeran
As MC usually did for him when he had a nervous breakdown, Saeran held them while they cried, saying nothing, caressing their head and waiting for them to calm down.
“What happened, MC?” he asked them, his own anxiety about to overtake him.
“It’s my exam. I’m going to fail it. And if I do, I’ll fail in life, Saeran. I’ll be a failure.”
He considered his words carefully before speaking up.
“I thought so too once. Well, not about college, but about studying hacking and disappointing the Sa… Rika,” he said, talking about Mint Eye still being difficult for him. “But you showed me that I was not my results. I want you to know that too. You’re not a machine which has to be productive. You are a person. The best person I know.”
“But my future is decided by my grades, Saeran” MC said. “I won’t be able to find a job or do anything for you if I don’t have the best grades.”
Saeran thought about what MC had said for a while. He still wasn’t very sure about how the world out of Mint Eye worked.
“Well, I don’t know if you’ll get a job or not if you fail your exam,” he honestly replied. “But I do know that you do so much for me already. Sometimes, I think it’s unfair,” he chuckled and MC looked at him puzzled. “I feel I’m not able to give back what you do for me. I’m only able to love you with all that I have.”
“That’s all that I want.”
“That’s all that I want for you too,” Saeran kissed them. “Another thing I learnt in that place was that you can’t do your best under situations of stress. Why don’t we go for a walk, eat some ice cream and you resume your studying when you feel better. I don’t know if I’ll be of help, but if you can think of a way I can lend you a hand, I’ll do it.”
“Thank you, MC,” smiled.
When Saeran asked them about the content of their exam, they knew it perfectly
