LINKTOBER DAY 19! East Reservoir Lake
The Zora siblings gets that self sacrificing from somewhere, what can I say.
Anyways, the duo absconded with the crown prince. (Alchemist Yona, you’re going to stop them, right? RIGHT??)
This is a Totk au called Familiar Familiar, and it all started when Zelda didn’t get sent to the shadow realm (and everything fell apart from there). Here’s the masterlist!

Champions Resurrected AU / Prelude 1: Mipha
i was gonna post this on AO3 and I still might if I write more, but here’s a brief written retelling/continuation of the Mipha & Sidon reunion comic (warnings: canon typical violence? just in case)
The crackling noise that shook through Zora’s Domain that morning was mistaken for thunder at first. Zoras chatted amongst themselves, puzzled over lightning in a cloudless sky. Even King Dorephan, who had lived long enough to experience nearly every natural oddity that occurred near the Domain, leaned forward on his throne to peer into the vast blue.
“There, Father! Do you see it?” Sidon, always eager to abandon their discussions on politics, pointed toward the falling beam as it cut through the sky. “A falling star during the day. How rare!”
“I doubt it,” Dorephan rumbled. “I’ve seen many falling stars. I’ve never seen one like that. Something is strange about it.”
“Your Majesty, we are under attack!”
Sidon only winced a little at the sharp voice, before straightening up on instinct. He watched his father shoot his advisor an amused look as he rushed in.
“I doubt that as well, Muzu,” Dorephan chuckled. “If so, our enemy’s aim could certainly use some work!”
“Your Majesty!” Muzu cried, wringing his hands. “Please, consider the possibility at least!”
Sidon tuned out the conversation, walking out to the balcony and watching the dazzling light as it descended. Now that he was really looking, it had a faint blue glow to it that seemed to be dimming as it approached the ground. Its movement was strange, bobbing through the air like it was adjusting its course. A Rito, perhaps?
Sidon certainly hoped not as he watched the light plummet behind the rocks and into the Bank of Wishes. He hadn’t met many, but from what he’d heard, the Rito weren’t particularly keen swimmers. His fins itched as thoughts of warbled squawking and the charging of Lizalfo shock arrows plagued his mind.
“I will go investigate,” Sidon said, loudly enough to cut off whatever tirade Muzu had been in the middle of.
“Sire! Surely you’re joking!” Muzu said. “You cannot be so reckless! Ever since you took on Vah Ruta, you’ve been acting as though you are invincible, insisting you handle things yourself. If you keep acting as such—”
“I am very fast and very capable. I will be back if it is anything too dangerous, I assure you!” Sidon said with a grin. He was already stepping backward towards the edge of the balcony. “You have my word.”
“My Lord!” Muzu cried as Sidon winked, before leaping gracefully off the ledge and into the waters below.
By the time Muzu had made his way to the balcony, the only trace of the prince was a slice of red cutting effortlessly through Ruto Lake.

Mipha groaned, opening her eyes and immediately regretting it as she was buffeted by the fierce wind. As she grasped uselessly at her surroundings, every nerve suddenly sparked to life as she realized she was falling. Fast.
Her right fin was pulled open by a gust and she spun with a yelp, being tossed violently through the air. It reminded her of swimming down a waterfall, the dizzying feeling of the current and gravity pulling you relentlessly toward the sharp rocks below.
“Always keep your eyes forward, my dear Mipha,” her father’s voice echoed, pulling her back to her youth when she’d foolishly closed her eyes and nearly missed the lake below. “The most dangerous thing you can do is let your fear steer you.”
Prying her eyes open, she extended her fins and clumsily straightened herself. She felt a wave of nausea hit as the faded blues of distance gave way to the vibrant greens and purples of the earth below. A long leap off a waterfall, she told herself, that’s all this was.
Mipha bit her lip as she took in the surroundings. Even from this height, she could recognize her home, even if the sight brought her little comfort in her current situation. She was positioned over the Zora River now but could feel the wind knocking her around. Even a few feet off target could spell the end, and Mipha was already more acquainted with death than she ever wished to be.
With a shaky breath, she pulled her arms to her sides and flattened her fins, picking up speed until the world blurred. The wind whistling past her was nearly loud enough to hurt but was soon muddled by the familiar sound of rushing water and bubbling air pockets. She opened her fins quickly to slow the pull downward, relenting only when the pull of gravity faded to the gentle current of the river.
When the bubbles finally cleared, Mipha found herself upsetting close to the rocky bottom of Zora River.
She could still feel her heartbeat everywhere, behind her eyes and at the ends of her fins. She fought the tears pricking her eyes, shaking as the adrenaline slowly filtered from her system.
It was only after she’d allowed herself a moment of reprieve that it clicked.
She had a heartbeat. She could see the small bubbles pushing around her as she moved the water around her. She was here, alive.
“How is this…” Mipha stared at her hands, unmistakably solid, and forgave the tremor in her voice. “What happened?”
A warm light had descended into the depths of Vah Ruta. Mipha had known instantly what it was—could feel the warmth of Hylia even through the coldness of her spirit. She briefly said her goodbyes, before capturing the light in her hands and fading away.
In all honesty, Mipha hadn’t been certain what would come after that. But hurtling toward the ground at high speeds had not been it.
“I should…what should I do?” Mipha waded anxiously back and forth beneath the turbulent current. “Should I return to the Domain? Would that cause some sort of issue? Perhaps I should return to Vah Ruta…”
Despite her fondness for her Divine Beast, Mipha couldn’t suppress the shudder that ran through her at that. Surely after committing one hundred years to her tomb, the Goddesses would forgive her stalling her return a bit.
“I’m not even sure how much time has passed since Link’s victory over Ganon…” Mipha mumbled quietly. “For all I know, thousands of years have passed. Perhaps I’ve been reincarnated? Though I don’t think one usually reincarnates as an adult. Or with their memories, for that matter.” Even passing fish seemed to eye her warily as she fidgeted in place. She groaned.
“Oh, just make up your mind, Mipha!” she scolded quietly, squishing her face. “Right, then I’ll return to the Domain and ask around. Surely someone will be able to fill in the details.”
With that, Mipha propelled herself upwards into the main current, pivoted around the bend, and smashed headlong into something.
It was large and red, but that was all Mipha could make out past the stars in her eyes. The direct hit to the nose had shocked her system, leaving her nearly blind in the water. Dazed, she pushed upwards until water gave way to cool air. She shook her head, which only served to worsen the ringing in her ears.
Thankful at least that her sight returned, Mipha blinked and almost doubted her newly restored vision. A Zora nearly twice her size was treading water in front of her, rubbing his nose and saying something Mipha couldn’t quite make out.
“…a…logies, I must h… let the cur…nt…rry me too quickly. Are you injured? I can help you back to the Domain if you are. Again, I apologize for…” The large Zora trailed off as he looked down, blinking owlishly at Mipha.
He was familiar in a way that pulled deep at Mipha’s soul. She could see the lines of others—parts of her father, her mother, even some of herself—but it was the way his eyes lit up with an almost childlike hope that solidified what her heart already knew.
“Sidon?” She asked.
Sidon’s face split into a blinding grin.
“Sister!” He swam forward, before jolting to a stop. His eyes snapped behind her, and it was as they widened in horror that Mipha heard the charging of a shock arrow being knocked.
Spinning, Mipha reached for her trident and was met with empty air. Frantic, she launched a weak spray of water at the Lizalfo before being yanked away. She heard the arrow loose, then the sickening thunk as it embedded into skin.
She looked up at Sidon, who was hunched over her protectively. He winced, undoubtedly from the arrow lodged in his shoulder, and turned to the Lizalfo with gritted teeth.
“No!” Mipha cried. She pulled Sidon underwater, doing her best to ignore the pained yelp as she tugged on his injured arm to urge him lower.
“If I hadn’t struck the arrow with water and activated the shock before it hit you, your injury would be much more severe. We must dive deep enough that the shock radius won’t hit us if he fires again.”
“It’s just one Lizalfo, Sister!” Sidon said, but she could hear him hiss a little as he swam. “I promise, I’ve handled much worse!”
“There is never just one Lizalfo, Sidon,” She chided. “This should be deep enough. Let me heal you.”
She swam behind him, frowning at the scars that littered his body. “I need to remove the arrow before I can begin. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” Sidon says, his smile strained slightly with pain. “It’s not the first time that this has happened.”
“That is what concerns me,” Mipha said quietly. She yanked the arrow out quickly before pressing her hands to the wound, pooling her energy into her palms. “I have no doubt you have defended our domain bravely, Sidon. I’m so incredibly proud of you. I only wish I could have been there to heal you and protect you from harm.”
“Sister…” Sidon said quietly. He moved to turn, but Mipha tutted at him and he stayed still, tilting his head down to stare at the riverbed below.
“It has undoubtedly been difficult since your…since you failed to return from Vah Ruta,” Sidon said. “But your unending kindness and devotion have been a beacon of hope for our whole kingdom. None more than me. You may not have known it, but there was never a moment you weren’t with me.”
He tilted his head to the side, peering over his shoulder as Mipha worked. “If I may ask, Sister, how is it that you’ve managed to return? Not that I’m ungrateful, I assure you! But…”
“In all honesty, I’m not sure myself,” Mipha said, quietly lifting her hands as the last threads of her healing magic settled into Sidon. “One moment I was aboard Vah Ruta, a spirit, finally content to move on knowing the war was won and our people were safe. Then, the next moment, I’m hurtling toward the ground, several thousand feet in the air. I’m at a loss for explanations.”
Sidon spun around quickly, eyes sparkling. “That glowing comet in the sky, that was you? That is amazing! Extraordinary!” He grabbed her hands, smiling wide. “This must be a gift from the Goddess! Payment for your hard work and sacrifice, no doubt! No one would be more deserving than you!”
At that, Mipha paused. “Do you think…The other Champions, would they have also…?”
“Perhaps so,” Sidon said, scratching his chin. “I can’t say I’ve heard anything, but admittedly I don’t keep very informed on foreign affairs. Perhaps someone else in the Domain has heard something? Or…!”
Sidon snapped to attention, smile glowing impossibly brighter. “I’ll send for Link! Surely he’ll know, as well-traveled and sociable as he is, and I have no doubt he will be thrilled to see you again! Perhaps we could even call the engagement back on!”
Mipha sputtered bubbles at Sidon’a grin. “S-Sidon! There is—was never any engagement! Link and I are friends, th-that’s all!”
Sidon frowned, looking thoughtful. “But I was positive the Zora armor was for him. It looked like a perfect fit!”
“Oh, you found that then?” Mipha said, voice pitching up an octave. “That was, erm, well it was a rash decision really. I thought better of it, hence why he never found out about it! So really, there’s no need to tell him it was even made!”
“Ah, so you didn’t end up confessing anything,” Sidon said, nodding. “Your diary entry was unclear, so I wasn’t sure whether the two of you had made proper arrangements or not. Poor Link remembers very little from that time, unfortunately, and even showing him the passage didn’t seem to help.”
“You…You read my diary?” Mipha mumbled in disbelief. She then swayed a little, realization hitting her. “Link read my diary?!”
“Yes?”
“Did…Did anyone else?”
“Father, Muzu, and a very talented Rito bard named Kass.”
Mipha made a noise like a tea kettle and Sidon looked immediately abashed, glancing away. “Er, I do hope that was alright? Father said you likely wouldn’t have minded, and I wanted so desperately to preserve your legacy.”
“Well, then I have a few words for Father,” Mipha huffed. “Reading a girl’s diary, really! How uncouth.”
She swam past him before turning, holding out a hand for Sidon. It felt a little silly now, offering to guide a Zora so much larger than herself. He must be about her age now and had clearly grown into a capable warrior. But in those eyes, Mipha could only see her young brother, still anxious to speak to others or swim too far from her side.
If Sidon took offense to the gesture, he showed no sign of it as he took her hand tightly. But then he let go, swam beside her, withdrew his trident—Mipha almost thought it was her own, but reconsidered when she noticed how large it was—and set it horizontally behind his back. He tilted his head toward it, but Mipha simply stared in confusion.
“I imagine falling from the sky was a harrowing experience, and I cannot begin to think of how taxing being revived from the dead must be,” Sidon clears his throat, eyes drifting to the side. “Allow me to carry you back. It will be easier to dodge enemies if we travel together, and I assure you I am capable. I am one of the fastest swimmers in the Domain, after all!”
Mipha stared at him a moment more before his action clicked into place. She’d done the same things for him when he was young—using her own trident as a handgrip for a much smaller Sidon as they traversed the waterfalls. Muzu had worried endlessly about it, convinced that Sidon would slip or that his grip would falter and he would go coasting off the side of a cliff. But she’d insisted that she trusted Sidon’s strength and courage, and her father had agreed to allow her to continue.
Now, Sidon swam nervously in front of her, offering his trident to her in the same gesture. She felt her heart swell, seeing that even after all these years, he hadn’t forgotten their time together. She smiled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes again as she dove behind Sidon. He turned to look, smile faltering for a moment before Mipha set a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Forgive me, Sidon. I was overcome with emotions. I trust you, and thank you for your kindness.” She tightened her hands around the trident, and the feeling of cool Zora steel beneath her hands for the first time in a century sent a chill through her. “I’m ready when you a—re!”
Mipha bit down a yelp as Sidon shot through the water at near-blinding speeds. It took her a moment to adjust, and even the familiar Zora River left her speechless as it whipped by. She now had no doubt her brother was the strongest swimmer she’d ever met—it was as if the water itself was pushing him forward like a jet stream. It was exhilarating, almost like learning to swim all over again, and Mipha couldn’t contain the joyous laughter that pulled its way out of her.
She was here, really here, feeling the water on her scales and the cool metal under her fingers. She could see the fish and plants move as they swam by, could see the trail of bubbles in their wake. When they broke the surface of the water, cutting effortlessly up the falls of the Domain, she gasped, taking in the view.
She was with her beloved brother, in her beloved home, and she was alive.

Mipha's Grace
My entry for Zora May is "Favorite Zora"!
I have been working on this mod for the last few years as a hobby. Please see how much I love Mipha and the work the BOTW modding community has put into this!
(I hope the youtube quality is okay, for some reason it's appearing lower quality than it should).

Special thanks to IOTO music for letting me use their remix "Alone in Kyoto" for this video!

A part of her expected Aryll to jump out of the shadows and snap at everyone to leave Link alone.
Hurried introductions were made; Healer Celeste and the group of guards; Tottika, Numian, Pinoa, Tie and Resco. The pair of young attendants, Alto and Vesper.
Impa led Celeste upstairs to Link’s room, while Bazz gathered the knights, Muzu and two attendants into a group, no doubt to give orders to the knights, and she was sure that Sidon would handle Alto and Vesper.
But as for Muzu…
“So you have killed him twice. Vah Ruta has trapped Princess Mipha. Your Guardians killed Prince Link and now your shrine will take him from us all over again.”
“This is your doing, you and your people! Your technology has done this! Our princess is trapped, our prince is dead. ”
Impa had no idea how to handle him.
She steeled herself, trying to banish thoughts of the Calamity from her mind.
*
It's safe to say that Lord Muzu is not happy to be in Kakariko, particularly when he learns there is a Yiga spy lurking somewhere nearby.
Impa struggles to hold back her old guilt. More memories return to Link, and Paya continues to pursue her mother's old notes on their mysterious heirloom.

Sidon x Hylian!Reader
Italics are Link signing
(Original Story: The champions won against Ganon and Y/n is friends with Link. After learning that Y/n had never been to Zora's Domain he decides to take her to meet his friends)
Y/n's POV
"Link, how much longer?" I whine and Link chuckles. Not much further, I promise. I pout but continue climbing and following the lit path to the Domain. Finally we arrive at a long bridge. I look up and gasp. "It's beautiful!" Link smiled and motioned for me to follow him.
We make it across the long bridge and into the Domain. Link turns to me. Time for you to meet my friends. I nod and follow him up a long staircase. Link stands before the Zora King and I hide behind him. "Ah! Champion Link. What brings you to Zora's Domain?" The King's voice boomed.
My friend has never been to Zora's Domain so I wanted to show her. He signed before moving. My eyes widen and I try to hide again but Link stops me. I smile sheepishly and wave to the King. "H-hi." I manage to squeak out.
I look to the right of the King and spot a very handsome and tall red Zora. And to his left is an older green Zora. "Why hello! What's your name, dear?" The King asked. "Y-y/n. My name is Y/n." I straighten my posture.
"it's a pleasure to meet you Y/n. This is my son, Prince Sidon." I wave shyly. It seems the Zora was lost in thought staring at me. I blush lightly. "Prince Sidon?" The green Zora asked. He seemed to snap out of it.
"Oh. Sorry Muzu. Hello Y/n. It's lovely to meet you." Sidon walks over to me causing me to have to look up. He takes my hand and kisses my knuckles. A blush spreads across my face.
"I believe Mipha will be pleased to see you, Link. Sidon can give Y/n a tour." The King spoke. Link glanced at me and I nodded and shoo him off. I realize the Prince is still holding my hand and gently tug it back.
"Ah, sorry." He smiled sheepishly. I giggle. "It's okay, Prince Sidon." He motioned for me to follow him. "Please, Sidon is fine." He spoke as we walked down the stairs. He led me underneath the throne room. "The Domain is so pretty." I speak up shyly.
"Why thank you." He smiled. I noticed his sharp teeth. I follow him down to the main level. "This is the inn and the general store." He pointed out. I looked around and nodded. "I bet this place looks even better from a high vantage point." I say.
"I know a place. Where we could test that theory, but um..." I turn to Sidon and tilt my head. "We will have to go up waterfalls. You'd have to ride on my back." I blush and giggle. "Are you sure? I'm not light by any means." Suddenly I'm lifted off the ground. "Ah!" I squeak.
"You're not heavy at all." He said setting me down. I giggle softly. "I'm up for it if you are." I told him and he grinned. He took my hand and pulled me through the Domain and across a bridge. We get to the first waterfall and he kneeled down.
"Climb on." He said. I carefully wrapped my arms around his neck, making sure not to choke him. "I'm ready." With ease he swam up the waterfall landing gracefully on his feet. We repeated the steps two more times before reaching the top of the mountain.
He kneeled once more and I climbed off. I turn around and gasp. "It's... Breathtaking." I tell him, mesmerized. "Yeah." He mumbled. I turn to him and realize he's looking at me and blush. He sat down with his feet hanging over the edge and I followed his actions.
"Ah, the sun is going down. What a perfect place to watch." I say, gently kicking my feet. Sidon's hand gently slid over mine and I felt my cheeks heat up once more. I focus on hiding the blush when his soft fingers caressed my chin and turn me up towards him.
Sidon leaned down and pressed his lips against mine. I kiss back and feel his hand against the back of my head, pulling me closer to him. I placed my hand on his chest as he pulled me into his lap.
The kiss deepened and he slid his tongue against my lips. I part them and he slid his tongue inside and gently explored my mouth. We pull away and breathe heavily. I look up at him and smile sheepishly. "I think I'll keep you around for a while." He teased before leaning in for another kiss.

Yippee, I was actually able to get a Zora May entry done! I wanted to do a Tavo/Vyrtuka piece so badly, and made myself wait until A) May and B) I had time to do it.
I got the prompt lists a little mixed up and realized I was reading the 2023 list about halfway through idea generation, so this is for both the Sentimental (2023) and Tears (2024) prompts. I hope that's alright! I haven't done one of these since Shiptober 2021 so I'm rustyyyy.
There is both an art piece and a short story! Look at me being extra The art piece is based on the short story, so it's not as prompty as the story itself.
Zora May is hosted by @prisiidon
Based on the Hyrule's Final Stand AU series

He had heard Prince Sidon had found a Hylian to bring to the Domain.
A Hylian that could handle the shock arrows necessary to attack Divine Beast Vah Ruta.
A Hylian that could save both the Zora and Hyrule as a whole from a whole other calamity.
There was nothing that could have prepared an elder like him for the shock that would come that morning in the Domain. The sound that echoed so fully off the cliffs and mountains enveloping the Domain. That sound was supposed to be impossible.
Guardians drowned it out in the flames of Calamity, never to be heard again.
It must be his old age playing tricks on him, a century’s worth of memories sweeping through him as diluted sunlight twinkled down in this otherwise unending storm.
But then he saw him. His ancient eyes fell upon this young Hylian. It cannot be, yet it was.
Just like the rest of the Domain, he was absolutely drenched by the rainfall, and a small frog seemed to have set off his instincts as he splashed around in the Mikau Lake, nose as close to the water as possible without breaching the surface.
“...Link? Is it really you?”
The Hylian perked up from such a stance like a startled member of the wildlife, eyes and nostrils wide as his head flared back. Certainly enough, the hallmark scars of an old friend were clearly present on the face, just slightly faded from the last time. The spaulders of his armor gleamed from the water slickening their surface, betraying his true past with mistaken symbolism.
This cannot be, yet it is.
He stepped closer, weary teal arms reaching out towards the blond Hylian. “Link?”
The Hylian stepped closer, mouth shut with nearly blank eyes glimmering just the slightest with curiosity. There was no familiarity in them, which shook the Zora elder’s arms even further. The armor on his body glistened further as he climbed from the lake. Eventually, he stopped approaching, opting instead to lay on a large, soaked rock and sigh.
The elder sat alongside him, stroking the Hylian’s armored shoulder as he curled up into the elder’s side. The signs were clear, and that brought a choking urge to cry. There was no reason to withhold the urge, and he wept openly; though his tears were masked with the ever persistent downpour that’d been the reason for this old friend’s arrival. He pulled the open sleeve of his robe over the Hylian’s head, wet ears folding under the additional pressure as a scarred snout began to sniff at the underside. A smile containing the pain of a century crept across the elder as tears continued their attempt to choke it. “It’s okay, Link… Vyrtuka’s here… Vyrtuka’s here, buddy…”
A wet nose poked against his shaking arm, and he felt his smile break into a grimace while pain flashed through him. Link felt just as cold as he had to have been a century ago. He wanted to scoop the young one up into his arms and take him somewhere warm to dry and feed him, but he knew Link’s fears ran much deeper than simple memory. He did not want to frighten Link, as it seemed Link would not be able to remember why he was afraid, only that he was.
How could this be possible? How could he even be here, and in this much youth? He’d been told long ago this creature’d been buried six feet below.
“Link…”
Link tilted his head out from the robe’s sleeve.
He thought carefully, how to deliver this question. Link could not answer this for him, yet he wanted to make sure Link understood. He deserved that much. After a gentle squeeze of the shoulder, he bent down slightly and asked in the most pained intonation of Link’s native tongue. “Who stole your rest in peace?”
~~~
“Who gave the armor to Link? Muzu, I understand sentimentality, but surely you thought about the implications.”
“I don’t want him having that any more than you do, Tavo. The King gave it to him, otherwise I would have been more vocal.”
“You want it denied to him on the basis of pettiness. I wish the King had given it more consideration on the basis of meaning. King Dorephan’s presentation of the armor violates the final agreement between Link and Mipha! It shames the Kingdom of Hyrule’s memory!”
“What does the reason matter if I agree that the King shouldn’t have given it to him?! It is a sacred item to our people, to be handed off to a traitor who broke his contract on the matter of lust! It is just as much a shame to Mipha as it is to the Kingdom of Hyrule you are so desperately concerned over.”
“Link did nothing that broke the promise he and Mipha made to each other. A promise is not broken if both parties wish to dissipate it of their own free will and agree on mutual terms. Mipha willingly released him from his contract, and you know it was never his wish for his own life anyway. She gave him grace to release him. The kindness you so desperately demand Link honor is the same kindness you disgrace by punishing him, the kindness so overwhelming in our dear Mipha that she broke her own heart to heal his suffering.”
“I do not dare disgrace her! It is Link who used that kindness against her to lure her to a blood-soaked grave, not the other way around.”
“It is a disgrace to her to show a man such vitriol when you know of the mark he left in her heart. Despite whether you feel he wronged her or not, he remains whom she called beloved until her last breath. I would suggest you treat him with respect. The King and Prince remain ever fond of him, despite their overwhelming loss. I think we can afford the same.” Tavo turned his head to peer further into the Domain from where he and Muzu stood on the Great Zora Bridge’s edge. Despite the rainfall turning the Domain’s walkways to shallow rivers, Link was curled up beneath Mipha’s statue, run-off from a shimmering “In loving memory” plaque dripped onto his face as Sidon rambled on about his late sister to him. In truth, he believed this behavior from his fellow Zora to be no less manipulative than what Muzu accused Link of doing so long before. The young Wolfbred was vulnerable in his memory-less state, and it wasn’t fair to him or to the family who had lost him to try and recreate an alternate past into him now. He was not about to cheapen his words with insensitive behavior. Link’s appearance was both the scalpel and the salt to the wounds left deep by Mipha’s death. While Tavo refused to let the werewolf he helped raise become a scapegoat once more, he understood that the bleeding hearts Link was causing would have to be dealt with by the Zora alone.
Elderly Antics - elderly Zora headcanons
Tumblr media
“Elderly Zora antics headcanons? I wonder if they have cliques, or are one big clique. Obviously we know Seggin and Trello are bffs since their time in the guard, but little headcanons like that! For example, I feel like Kapson and Dento might have a decent friendship and they plan wedding jewelry to be crafted for couples.” - @rocklover719
we’ve had so many conversations about Seggin and Trello being bffs, and i cannot see it any other way now. honestly, i think they’re one big clique with smaller cliques (if that makes sense?). i like to think that they all get together at least once a month to talk about stuff or hang out.
also, i love how i turned this small little ask into 3 1/2 pages of nonsense.
anyway, enjoy <3
Seggin is an absolute ass… we all know that
Trello is kind, but LOVES gossip
Jiahto keeps secrets to himself, but loves hearing others (it’s detrimental to Zora’s Domain’s history)
Kapson talks the most shit… aside from Seggin
Dento cannot stand when someone asks for something extremely elaborate and detailed (even though he loves detail)
Muzu is just a brown-nose wannabe (but knows more than people give him credit for)
and Dorephan… he’s pretty cool
everyone talks shit about Muzu, let’s be real here
i’m gonna split everyone into different sections now, because i have words (except Dorephan, because he’s the realest and so so chill)
Seggin
talks the most shit
loves gossip
will have tea with Trello and chat for HOURS
very strict with Bazz
also refuses to give Bazz candy/sweets
“Sugar will turn you into a monster.”
but ultimately proud of his son for being well behaved
“Why are you friends with Rivan? He’s far too chaotic for your own good.”
will carry shock arrows to assert his dominance
everyone is scared of him (except for Dorephan and Trello)
VERY impatient with Jiahto’s research
just impatient in general
really doesn’t like Rivan
“Trello, why is your child like this?”
but will babysit Dunma after Rivan ends up getting her
“This child CANNOT be as rambunctious as you. We need a strong-willed soldier on our defenses. Not a candy-ass heathen like yourself.”
if he REALLY needs to spill tea with someone, he’ll go to Kapson
and they will sit and talk so much shit that NO ONE knows about
“Did you hear Mei and Fronk are having aNOTHER CHILD?!”
“Oh Hylia, not this again…”
has a soft side for pastries
Trello
has given up on trying to scold Rivan
and he gets a lot of shit from Seggin about it
“I know… it’s a lost cause.”
but he loves his son so much
“Rivan, don’t listen to that grumpy, mean, old man. You’re perfect the way you are.”
but ABSOLUTELY scolds him for bringing Dunma home
“Why on Earth do you have a Zora egg in your arms?”
expresses his feelings through journaling
loves writing letters
and LOVES planning parties and events
super interested in Jiahto’s research and findings
plans ceremonies with Kapson from time to time
during guard training, he’ll bring Rivan along to watch (mainly because he can’t trust him at home alone)
loves babysitting the children
because he has a soft heart
secretly gives Bazz sweets
Jiahto
loves gossip, but hates gossip
“Can you all shut up for two seconds so I can think? For Hylia’s sake…”
too involved in his studies
the lack of sleep really catches up to him
if coffee is a thing… Jiahto’s had 7 cups of it today
loves journaling
and starts a journaling club with Trello
the amount of maps and scrolls in his home and office… too many
will bring up stories of Ancient Hyrule/Zora’s Domain just randomly
he’s gotta share with someone
often meets with Dento to discuss Ancient Zora attire, jewelry, and weaponry
and Dento enjoys his company
Jiahto spends a lot of time on research and writing, which ultimately holds him back from having a family of his own
but it’s okay, because he thoroughly believes that children’s grubby hands will destroy the ancient artifacts in his possession
would be a teacher if he wasn’t already busy enough
meets with Kapson often to discuss marriage rituals and how they’ve changed overtime
asks everyone on their opinion of the world: what they would change and why
asks too many questions
the only one who semi-enjoys chatting with Muzu… but only because he knows things that others won’t about the Zora Royal Family and their lineage
Kapson
is tired of the bs
ultimately wants to retire from being a priest
but he does enjoy it
helps Jiahto a lot with his research
and even suggests that he comes with him to Tarrey Town when he goes
“I can’t, Kapson. My life is here. But please write, and send me lots of information on the land!”
Kapson really likes poetry and ancient stories involving friendship/unity
will chat with Seggin for hours about people whose relationship is not going to last
“Yeah, they’re definitely getting a divorce.”
will collaborate with Dento on marital/ritual jewelry (and you’ll often find Jiahto sitting in on the conversations)
VERY traditional
hates when people use furniture incorrectly
“Ohmmm... Goddess Hyliaaaa... Please cast your divine judgment down upon the humble servant who speaks to me from atop my furniture…” (an actual quote???? what?)
he’s quite forgiving on other things
refuses to let Trello bring Rivan when they meet for something
Dento
honestly, wants to be left alone
enjoys his solitude
“Don’t talk to me. I’m busy.”
but he’s fine if Jiahto or Kapson come to visit, because that constitutes as work
enjoys talking with Seggin about guard affairs
and he asks quite a bit about Bazz
HATES when Rivan comes into his place of business
“If you even think about touching that spear, I’ll see that you don’t come back.”
makes very special jewelry for Marot
because he loves his family unconditionally
really wants Marot to marry Cleff
treats Fronk and Ledo like family
though he thinks Mei is a bit… irresponsible
when Muzu comes in with requests, he definitely zones out
talks with Seggin about how they need to get Trello to discipline Rivan more
“He’s a lost cause, Seggin… but I do agree.”
Muzu
just wants a friend
but is too stuck up to be in the cliques
closest to Jiahto because of his knowledge on the Zora Royal Family
self absorbed
usually too busy to make it to the monthly gossip meeting
but when he does make it, he SPILLS
and Seggin smiles for once
