Elderly Antics - elderly Zora headcanons
Tumblr media
“Elderly Zora antics headcanons? I wonder if they have cliques, or are one big clique. Obviously we know Seggin and Trello are bffs since their time in the guard, but little headcanons like that! For example, I feel like Kapson and Dento might have a decent friendship and they plan wedding jewelry to be crafted for couples.” - @rocklover719
we’ve had so many conversations about Seggin and Trello being bffs, and i cannot see it any other way now. honestly, i think they’re one big clique with smaller cliques (if that makes sense?). i like to think that they all get together at least once a month to talk about stuff or hang out.
also, i love how i turned this small little ask into 3 1/2 pages of nonsense.
anyway, enjoy <3
Seggin is an absolute ass… we all know that
Trello is kind, but LOVES gossip
Jiahto keeps secrets to himself, but loves hearing others (it’s detrimental to Zora’s Domain’s history)
Kapson talks the most shit… aside from Seggin
Dento cannot stand when someone asks for something extremely elaborate and detailed (even though he loves detail)
Muzu is just a brown-nose wannabe (but knows more than people give him credit for)
and Dorephan… he’s pretty cool
everyone talks shit about Muzu, let’s be real here
i’m gonna split everyone into different sections now, because i have words (except Dorephan, because he’s the realest and so so chill)
Seggin
talks the most shit
loves gossip
will have tea with Trello and chat for HOURS
very strict with Bazz
also refuses to give Bazz candy/sweets
“Sugar will turn you into a monster.
but ultimately proud of his son for being well behaved
“Why are you friends with Rivan? He’s far too chaotic for your own good.”
will carry shock arrows to assert his dominance
everyone is scared of him (except for Dorephan and Trello)
VERY impatient with Jiahto’s research
just impatient in general
really doesn’t like Rivan
“Trello, why is your child like this?”
but will babysit Dunma after Rivan ends up getting her
“This child CANNOT be as rambunctious as you. We need a strong-willed soldier on our defenses. Not a candy-ass heathen like yourself.”
if he REALLY needs to spill tea with someone, he’ll go to Kapson
and they will sit and talk so much shit that NO ONE knows about
“Did you hear Mei and Fronk are having aNOTHER CHILD?!”
“Oh Hylia, not this again…”
has a soft side for pastries
Trello
has given up on trying to scold Rivan
and he gets a lot of shit from Seggin about it
“I know… it’s a lost cause.”
but he loves his son so much
“Rivan, don’t listen to that grumpy, mean, old man. You’re perfect the way you are.”
but ABSOLUTELY scolds him for bringing Dunma home
“Why on Earth do you have a Zora egg in your arms?”
expresses his feelings through journaling
loves writing letters
and LOVES planning parties and events
super interested in Jiahto’s research and findings
plans ceremonies with Kapson from time to time
during guard training, he’ll bring Rivan along to watch (mainly because he can’t trust him at home alone)
loves babysitting the children
because he has a soft heart
secretly gives Bazz sweets
Jiahto
loves gossip, but hates gossip
“Can you all shut up for two seconds so I can think? For Hylia’s sake…”
too involved in his studies
the lack of sleep really catches up to him
if coffee is a thing… Jiahto’s had 7 cups of it today
loves journaling
and starts a journaling club with Trello
the amount of maps and scrolls in his home and office… too many
will bring up stories of Ancient Hyrule/Zora’s Domain just randomly
he’s gotta share with someone
often meets with Dento to discuss Ancient Zora attire, jewelry, and weaponry
and Dento enjoys his company
Jiahto spends a lot of time on research and writing, which ultimately holds him back from having a family of his own
but it’s okay, because he thoroughly believes that children’s grubby hands will destroy the ancient artifacts in his possession
would be a teacher if he wasn’t already busy enough
meets with Kapson often to discuss marriage rituals and how they’ve changed overtime
asks everyone on their opinion of the world: what they would change and why
asks too many questions
the only one who semi-enjoys chatting with Muzu… but only because he knows things that others won’t about the Zora Royal Family and their lineage
Kapson
is tired of the bs
ultimately wants to retire from being a priest
but he does enjoy it
helps Jiahto a lot with his research
and even suggests that he comes with him to Tarrey Town when he goes
“I can’t, Kapson. My life is here. But please write, and send me lots of information on the land!”
Kapson really likes poetry and ancient stories involving friendship/unity
will chat with Seggin for hours about people whose relationship is not going to last
“Yeah, they’re definitely getting a divorce.”
will collaborate with Dento on marital/ritual jewelry (and you’ll often find Jiahto sitting in on the conversations)
VERY traditional
hates when people use furniture incorrectly
“Ohmmm... Goddess Hyliaaaa... Please cast your divine judgment down upon the humble servant who speaks to me from atop my furniture…” (an actual quote???? what?)
he’s quite forgiving on other things
refuses to let Trello bring Rivan when they meet for something
Dento
honestly, wants to be left alone
enjoys his solitude
“Don’t talk to me. I’m busy.”
but he’s fine if Jiahto or Kapson come to visit, because that constitutes as work
enjoys talking with Seggin about guard affairs
and he asks quite a bit about Bazz
HATES when Rivan comes into his place of business
“If you even think about touching that spear, I’ll see that you don’t come back.”
makes very special jewelry for Marot
because he loves his family unconditionally
really wants Marot to marry Cleff
treats Fronk and Ledo like family
though he thinks Mei is a bit… irresponsible
when Muzu comes in with requests, he definitely zones out
talks with Seggin about how they need to get Trello to discipline Rivan more
“He’s a lost cause, Seggin… but I do agree.”
Muzu
just wants a friend
but is too stuck up to be in the cliques
closest to Jiahto because of his knowledge on the Zora Royal Family
self absorbed
usually too busy to make it to the monthly gossip meeting
but when he does make it, he SPILLS
and Seggin smiles for once

All the Champions’ demises at the Blights’ hands are tragic, but Mipha’s is forever the one that fucks me up the most when we play BotW because out of the group she is the only one that, one hundred years after the Calamity, should not be dead.
By the time that the game is taking place, Urbosa, Revali, and Daruk would have passed of old age even if things had gone right. But Mipha would still be in her early prime. Not even Queen of the Zora yet! Now that’s not to say her death is more compelling simply because she had a longer possible lifespan ahead of her. All of our companions were taken unjustly, too soon. No, what destroys me about her story every time is that…
Mipha has living family and friends.
The others are celebrated among their people, but only the Zora explicitly have citizens who personally remember their Champion. While Daruk has an entire mountain carved in his likeness, Revali has many admirers among the Rito, and Urbosa’s people speak her name with reverence, Mipha is still actively mourned. By people who knew and loved her.
Her now elderly teachers, who remain angry over her untimely loss. Her young-adult peers who recall playing with her and Link as kids. Sidon, who still wears the whistle he had as a child and who, after you complete the Vah Ruta mission, never tears himself from the plaza before his sister’s statue. King Dorephan, who asks Link about Mipha’s fate, because even after a century, he never fully gave up hope that she might be trapped, but alive.
Mipha should not be dead, but she is, and her death remains a fresh wound.
And she knows it, too. And that’s why, even when her spirit is freed, unlike with the others her story has such an air of melancholy amid the eventual triumph. She looks down upon the Domain from atop Vah Ruta, and…
“Father…are you well, I wonder? I want you to know... I have always followed my heart. I'm sorry I made you worry... I wish I could see you again... Even just once more..."
She could be there. With her father, with her little brother who is so big now, and who is trying so so hard to be like his sister. But she’s not. And she is terribly missed in a way that’s unique among the Champions.
God, it just rips my heart to pieces.

I want to follow the idea done by others of explaining their zora kingdoms, but since the zorca technically have no kingdom I've hit my own obstacle on how to share this info. So I figured I'll just post here and there and then figure out how to compile it all together (maybe do a directory similar to werewolfsisters comic one!) but yeah!! Basically I just wanna share this stuff and it won't get done if I don't do it so HERE WE GO! DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!
Tumblr media
The Zorca (Zora Orca)
🐋 The Basics The average zorca is larger than a hylian zora, ranging from 15 to 20 ft in height. They're bulkier and wider, carrying more fat/blubber which protects them from harsh elements, being completely immune to ice and lightning specifically. Because of their size they don't go inland very often.
Unlike the zora in Hyrule, the zorca have more mammalian traits. They have blowholes in order to breathe in oxygen, they give live birth and nourish their young with milk, they have fat and blubber instead of scales, and they use echolocation to hunt and detect things (a fantastic visual comparison can be found here!)
The zorca are nomadic by nature and are highly adaptable. They can thrive in artic/subarctic, tropical and subtropical areas. They are apex predators meaning they are at the top of the food chain. Their diet consists of fish, and other marine life such as seals, sharks, whales, and monsters. Zorca don't stay in one place too long to avoid over hunting (other races gotta eat too!) They don't prey upon other Hylian races, but there have been some startling encounters between them and their smaller zora cousins at times!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🐋 Their Hierarchy Zorca families are matriarchal. A female zorca, usually the progenitor of the pod, leads her family. And she passes all her knowledge down to her daughters, from hunting techniques, migration routes, to child rearing.
The Grandmother Matriarch, her sisters, and eldest daughters all form a council and make decisions for the pod. Daughters of each generation are taught the lessons of their foremothers and become a potential candidate as a future leader.
Choosing a matriarch of a pod is a once in a lifetime event since zorca are a long lived race. While each woman is raised to become a candidate for matriarch, in the end, the role is bestowed through a vote from the entire pod. Creating a new pod is surprisingly not as common either. Daughters are allowed to strike out on their own to establish their own, but they find it difficult to maintain without the support of their family. Many end up returning to their original pod with a child or two in tow! 🐋 Social Behaviors
🫧 A pod is led by a Grandmother Matriarch. Decisions are made between her, her sisters (if any) and her eldest daughters. Said decisions include things like where to travel, when to hunt, and on the rarest occasion – who to exile.
🫧 Both male and female zorca have privileges and restrictions among the family.
🫧 All adults save for the very elderly, pregnant or nursing are expected to help in a hunt.
🫧 Mother’s with young children or who are expecting get first pick of each hunt. If asked, men will give up their share to help them keep their strength up.
🫧 Male zorca are allowed more freedom than their sisters. They are slightly spoiled; with mothers hunting for them more than their daughters. The goal is to see their sons reach adulthood so they can sire healthy babies.
🫧 The men are allowed to leave the pod whenever they want without being questioned. And they can be absent for as long as they wish. Most of the time they visit other pods to court zorca. Ultimately, many return to their matrilineal pods.
🫧 Women zorca stay with their mothers and grandmother to learn about the responsibilities of leadership. There are other roles they can choose from ranging from lead hunter, bard/historian, teacher, midwife, scouting, diplomat/envoy and many more.
💖 Courtship 💖
🫧 Turning the Wheel - A large courtship event where many zorca pods come together and participate in a “race” that begins in the Lanayru Sea and ends at the center of Rist Peninsula. During the journey, individuals may find a partner to race with, and may choose to pursue a relationship if they reach the end together. All are welcome to join; new faces, experienced runners, those with non-zorca partners. The event itself does not have to be finished, there’s no prize for anyone who arrives first. It’s about the camaraderie and celebration of life! Zorca don't have to wait for the courting event to seek partnerships either. It's just easier when all the pods are together in one space.
🫧 Male zorca employ various methods to attract partners. From feats of strength, athletic displays and singing. They can form bonds with partners of any gender which can last a lifetime.
🫧 Fights can break out between competing individuals, but the injuries are never too serious.
🫧 Teeth Raking can be a form of affection during courtship. A zorca runs their teeth along the skin of the one they're courting. It can often leave light marks, and possibly more permanent scars depending on how rough they are.
🫧 Zorca are polygamous but men and women can develop a preference towards a partner if their bond is strong enough. Example, two zorca may meet repeatedly over the years to produce children.
🤝 Bonds with other Hylian Races 🤝
🫧 While it's not taboo for a zorca to seek the company of someone from another race, it's preferred their trysts help increase their population.
🫧 Even so, some prefer to love freely without the heavy responsibility hanging over their heads. As well as not having to deal with the difficulty of finding another zorca somewhere in the vast ocean!
🫧 More often than not, these particular relationships rarely form lasting bonds due to the zorca’s nomadic nature.

🧓 for everybody!
So this was a fun one and kind of made me emotional 💖 🥹
Let's begin with Kaska!
She becomes a matriarch of her own pod (did she start her own or perhaps take over the family pod? who knows👀) But she enjoys telling her children and grandchildren about the adventures she and her siblings had. They especially enjoy the one about the submarine!
Tumblr media
Next is Kaso!
Kind of cheating because he's not elderly but he's all grown up! Based on @werewolfsister's concept of him as an adult, Kaso would have the luxury to eat well because by then certain events would ensure the survival of his people! What events, you might ask? That's slowly being written out C:
Tumblr media
Up next is Sardon!
He hasn't changed much besides getting a little bigger and adding a few more scars. Rumble-ready youth has become a grizzled elder whose always ready to throw down, or teach the next generation his moves! He still gets shy and flustered by Sona's antics though ;)
Tumblr media
And here is Cironus!
He is happy, thriving, and by then fully embraced the role of the Wind Fish. He's become a master bard and gladly taking on apprentices so their people's songs can always be remembered.
Tumblr media
Finally, it's Ifora! She has happily accepted the role of a sassy old woman. She travels between Gerudo and Lurelin, visiting Zora's Domain in between. She encourages young Gerudo there is more to Hyrule than finding the right voe!

The Yona Rant.
Some people will say that this game came out months ago already, and everybody is over it, and even kinda like her now, and to that I answer
First of all, I would like to remind you, reader, of the old texts. *blows into the sacred n64 oot cartridge*
The Zora royal line have proven itself to be very obviously Linksexual. If you haven’t played, Ruto proclaims herself Link’s fiancée, the spiritual stone of water being a litteral engagement ring. It is clearly brought into BOTW, with Mipha actively making him an engagement present according to current Zora tradition.
Sidenote: Link accept both gifts, and as the player you never get to clear it up or refuse. Make it what you will.
Why am I mentioning this?
She’s Link’s Zora-sona.
Tumblr media
(((If you want to bring gender into this, BORING. Link is canonically nonbinary. (neither male of female, able to be related to by anybody, those are things expressed multiple times by the creators))))
Everything about her that is different from the other Zoras is intended to be Link-like.
The way she has the droopy sleeves instead of the shoulderpads
The purple ribbon cutting into her silhouette in the same way the straps of his outfit do
The golden jewelry instead of Domain Silver
The horns simulating the spiky Hylian ears
Her head-tail is smaller and pointy, way closer to the shape of the classic hat
GREEN. A specific shade.
Babyfaced she-twink
She is the PEAK of Zora beauty standard, how silly of you to judge her with your human beauty standards. Yona is a bimbo, a barbie, everything hot under the sea. Literally evolved to be Link-like. She’s a trophy wife, a sex symbol, an idol. She has a dedicated Zora entourage simping for her.
Now, the way she suddenly shows up, without having being mentioned in BOTW… how do yall feel about surprises? I don’t think there would have been any moment in the game where it would have been natural for any Zora to bring her up, with the crisis happening, and the feelings about Mipha being so fresh to them. It made me feel like it was a world that was alive! Sidon is a hundred years old but you expect to meet everybody important to him in the first game he appears in?
Also, I do think Yona’s existence was hinted, with Muzu there, and every other Zora looking like they could be Sidon’s sibling or child… I personally really felt like the Domain looked inbred in comparison. Was the only other option blue Mipha? Lame.
Can you imagine a young Muzu? Vibrant green, chibi-headed, Dorephan's very own "best friend". Come on.
Tumblr media
Sidon is just like his dad fr
What about not getting married at all?
The thing with kingdoms, is that it specifically depends on a royal line, especially in Hyrule where abilities are given from parent to children. There was always going to be a need for a Zora Queen at some point.
What was the other option, simply not meeting Yona? Not addressing it? How tragic to imagine her absence, a lonely King with an elderly father, no mother, no sister, just a monogamous mass of subjects. And Muzu.
No, there needed to be a fiancée, a weird Link-like gremlin, who was there to accept their love. I don't believe Sidlink could have a better happy ending than this, given nintendo.
SQFD: If Sidon was to marry anybody to continue the royal line, it’s Link’s Zora-sona of course. Which is Yona.

so in those [mumble mumble] years between BotW and TotK, the Zora replaced the weathered and unreadable monuments with new history writing by Sidon, and their contents have left me hmm emotionally compromised ??
i was gonna list em out in full but then i read them all and Sidon waffles so much bless him LOL
full transcripts below (+ the 11th monument in the Domain itself) expect Sidon being an adorable goof, Zora Deep Lore, waterbending, SO much gushing over Mipha and Link, Zelda being a sweetheart, and surprise Yona content !!!
just for clarity, i've highlighted the first word of each on-screen chunk of text ... i love Sidon so much but he's so verbose i kept missing the full log lol but im glad he went all in, its earnest, descriptive and poetic :') 💙 RIP the stonemasons ...
Learnings of the Zora, Part One The Waters of Zora's Domain As told by Prince Sidon
Long, long ago, right here in Lanayru, incredible transformations, both subtle and drastic in nature, shaped the land. The tall mountains birthed clouds, these clouds cried tears of rain, and this rain filled our deep valleys past the brim. In time, this overflowing water became the Zora River, which bred waterfalls that fell and nourished the vast Lanayru Wetlands. Perhaps it was inevitable that my Zora ancestors, who wandered in search of precious water, would finally settle here. The mountains of Lanayru are blessed with high-quality stone. The structures built from said stone are solid yet refined. Just like the Zora and our domain, our buildings exist in harmony with the water. It is a beautiful symbol of our way of life. If you go to the edge of the domain, close your eyes, and listen closely ... you shall be greeted by the gentle sound of water. This kind, soothing sound is a testament to the happy life the Zora are so grateful to have found here. As one born of royal Zora blood, my duty is as clear as it is unshakeable. I, Sidon, swear here and now ... I shall protect our home with my very life, that the gentle sound of water may never cease in our beloved domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Two The Legend of Ruto, Our Great Ancestor As told by Prince Sidon
It is written that long ago there was a strong-willed Zora princess who was as meandering as a winding river. This princess, who was dearly loved by her fellow Zora, was noble as she was innocent. Her name was Ruto. One day, a powerful and wicked man tried to take over Hyrule and brought great ruin to the once-peaceful Zora's Domain. Our tales speak of falled Zora soldiers drifting down the river as it sadly reflected the chaotic retreat of the terrified Zora. Princess Ruto bravely fought back her tears and she bore witness to the tragic misery unfolding in the domain. Even amid her heartbreak, the Zora princess did all she coult to help the weak and elderly escape. Next she swam against the river's current and climbed the mighty waterfall to challenge her foe. The details of this fight have fallen victim to the haze of time. Few details remain. Still, it is said she was aided by the princess of Hyrule and the hero of legend, and together they saved Hyrule. So the legend goes. I, Sidon, prince of the Zoram cannot help but ponder these events as I listen to the Zora children play in all their innocence. As Princess Ruta's descendant, it is my fate to carry the torch of her brave acts into tomorrow and beyond. I shall not fail.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Three The Great King Dorephan As told by Prince Sidon
Several springs after I lost my dear sister, Mipha, a large group of Lizalfos attacked the domain. It mattered not that this was my first true battle. The expectations of those around me weighed heavy on my shoulders. The absence of Mipha, who had always been there to encourage me with loving kindness, was like a spear to my heart. As for my own spear, though I was highly trained for its use, it seemed to only cut the air and slash the water's surface. I was taken off guard by a surprise attach from three Lizalfos hiding at the water's edge, each with their blade fixed on me. I knew that my time had come ... and that is when the three Lizalfos disappeared, as quickly as they had arrived. In their place, I saw the towering figure of my father, the great King Dorephan, who had just bested my foes with ease. "Sidon, my son," he said firmly. "You allwed your heart to falter. That is the quickest way to fall on the battlefield." His words cut deep, but as I stood on the brink of dispair, a familiar gently encouraged me. "Your king needs you." Many soldiers later attested they were certain they had also heard the sweet voice of Mipha on that day. From then on, my heart was true and my resolve firm. By lending strength to our king, we were able to save the domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Four Two Sisters of Different Blood As told by Prince Sidon
When I was young, I had an irrational fear of strangers. I was particularly bashful around Yona. Paralyzed, even. She was already so mature in manner, and she treated me like a little brother, even though we were not related. There came an unseasonably heavy rain that quickly flooded the river. Us children, who were playing there, were swept away. I was battered by the water's strong flow, my fins helpless to resist. It was Yona who dragged me to the safety of the shore. The water continued to swell as the shore waned, but Yona was unflappable, sweetly comforting me as I shivered in fear. It was Mipha, my dear sister, who finally showed up to rescue us with other Zora adults in tow. I still remember Yona's face as she gazed up at Mipha in admiration. My face must have looked the same as I gazed at Yona. As a child, I had two big sisters. One by birth and one by chance. Yona looked up to Mipha, and I was in awe of them both. Before I knew it, years had passed, and my feelings for Yona became more difficult to quantify. Then, one day ... My father informed me that the amazing young woman who had once been a like a sister to me was to be my bride. Perhaps these feelings and memories are too dear and private to commit to history, but such is the tale of this Zora prince.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Five The Zora Armor She Left Behind As told by Prince Sidon
For some time after I lost my beloved sister, even in the light shining on the water seemed dark and dreary to my eyes. But as they say, time heals all wounds, no matter how deep. I can now speak of her with a smile, as is only fitting. I shall now tell the tale of the Zora armor that my sister crafted for her future husband, as per our ancient custom. One dark day, the domain was in great peril, and I sought help from a traveling Hylian to save our home. He was sparing with his words, yet I trusted him at once. As fate would have it, he was a childhood friend of Mipha's. My father, King Dorephan, troubled by the domain's suffering, requested his help. The swordsman agreed without hesitation. Father bequeathed my sister's Zora armor to this courageous soul, along with her hopes for the safety of the domain. The armor fit Link perfectly - so perfectly that councilman Muzu, who then harbored a hatred of Hylians, could not object. My sister had already left this world, and with her went the dearly held intentions that she had instilled within that special armor. Yet, with Link's help, she shined a light on the Zora in our hour of need, reaching between worlds with gentle fingertips.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Beginning As told by Prince Sidon
There was once a terrifying monster on Ploymus Mountain, loosing shock arrows on all who dared to cross its path. It was of utmost importance to drive the beast away, but as the Zora are weak to electricity, our efforts were futile. That is when a lone Hylian arrived at the domain. This swordsman who was sparing with his words ... his name was Link. Unlike us Zora, he was immune to shocks! Well perhaps that is an exaggeration, but one thing is certain. He was very brave. After careful preparation, he ascended Ploymus Mountain and defeated the foul beast all by himself. As if in celebration of newfound peace, clean water mysteriously began flowing at the top of Ploymus Mountain. That is when many Zora, if not most, voiced support for building a place that all could enjoy in that formerly frightful spot. Yet the many tree roots and stones made this task tricky, leading to a focus on the no-less-difficult matter of the name. "Zora Park" was too obvious. "Ploymus Park" only conjured images of the former terrors found there. When I candidly asked whether we should focus on the hard work at hand rather than the name, they all turned my way. "Prince Sidon," they asked. "Surely you must have a good suggestion?" To that, I fell silent, and stayed so for a long while. I shall write the conclusion of this story on another monument.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Conclusion As told by Prince Sidon
The first half of this tale can be found on another stone monument. If it is not too much trouble, I advise reading that first. I now present the conclusion. When posed with the task of naming this storied location, I, Prince Sidon, fell silent. After a time, I timidly proposed the one and only name that came to mind for this place of newfound peace. I suggested that we name it after my beloved sister who had long been lost to us ... Mipha Court. I worried they would think I was unfairly favoring my own family's legacy by naming it after my kin. A hush fell over the group. After a time, one of the stonemasons raised his voice in agreement. More voices joined his, one after another. The idea was embraced whlly, and the craftsmen all returned to their work. Though the work was grueling, from then until the completion of Mipha Court, the air was filled with laughter and singing. This incident drove home to my very core how much everyone loved my sister. I hope one day to inspire such admiration. If there is ever to be a Sidon Court, I must work tirelessly to earn that honor.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Seven The Prince and the Swordsman As told by Prince Sidon
The rain always stops ... except when it does not. This humourous saying was once repeated with a soft chuckle around here. Then, one day, heavy rain started falling in the domain, and no matter how many days passed it did not cease. Although the Zora are a water-dwelling sort, we came to miss the warmth of the sun and dry winds upon our backs. Alas, as fervent as our desire was, we had no means of stopping the cause of this unprecedented disaster. When all had given up hope, I, Sidon, took it upon myself to invite a Hylian to the domain. This young swordsman of few words was named Link. I trusted him at once, sensing great devotion in his kind eyes. It was immediately clear that my instincts were correct. Thanks to Link, we were able to face the thread head on. Our battle with the source of the disaster was intense by my newfound friend and I refused to yield until we finally triumphed. Sometimes, writen words flow so much more readily than those spoken ... Link, my dearest friend, you are an unparalleled swordsman, and I admire you so very much. He may lack fins and gills, but it matters not. This hero among heroes exudes magnificence tempered with steadiness. Though we are different, our hearts both yearn to serve a higher calling. I learned much from him, and I am eternally grateful. As I recall my best friend, it occurs to me that though the rains have ceased, perhaps a true adventure never does.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Eight The Princess of Hyrule As told by Prince Sidon
One that despicable disaster had ceased to plague Zora's Domain, a distinguished yet humble lady paid us a visit. This young woman who appeared with Link at her side was none other than Princess Zelda of the royal family of Hyrule. "I beg forgiveness," she said earnestly. "Because of the royal family, Princess Mipha ..." She paused, unable to continue. Small, silent teardrops tumbled down her cheek and hit the floor, one after another, each saying a thousand unspaken words. She gently wiped her eyes and lifted her gaze to meet the king's, speaking kind words of gratitude for Mipha's sacrifice. We knew well that what had transpired was the result of a decision shared by the Zora and by Princess Mipha herself. There was no need for the princess of Hyrule's apology, and even less so for her sorrow. King Dorephan, along with the rest of the Zora, were moved by the depth of Princess Zelda's sincerity. She had held that unthinkable disaster at bay for nearly 100 years with nothing more than the sheer force of her own will. Yet she was not prideful. She dutifully set to work, traveling across Hyrule to secure cooperation for the kingdom's restoration. She was adored by all, yet so humble. She possessed an inner strength, but now I am not so certain. I feel a strong calling one day to acquire this same sort of strength within myself.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote One The Solid Water and the Fluid Spear As told by Prince Sidon
The Zora are not associated with water because of our dwelling place alone. We each also, to varying extents, possess the ability to actually manipulate water. We use this gift for many purposes. We use it to swim faster, to achieve mighty leaps from the waves below, to gather fish, and so much more. For me, the true awakening of this ability that many of my childhood chums already possessed came upon me quite suddenly. One day as I was training at Veiled Falls, the rain slickened my grasp, causing me to drop my spear. I reached to grab it, but it was already too far away. Soon it would fall to the bottom of the cliff, never to be seen again. I knew that I must take old of it, and at that moment, droplets created a stream extending from my outstretched hand. The water stream twisted and turned until it finally took hold of my falling spear and deftly returned it to my grasp. In that moment, the water was solid and my spear fluid. This sensation forever changed my approach to spearplay. I was reminded of how my sister, Mipha, described it ... and everything clicked. Water and spear became as one. Gaining yet another layer of admiration for my dear sister, I devoted myself to my spear training from then on.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote Two The Great Task Entrusted to Me As told by Prince Sidon
I, Sidon, was entrusted with the great task of renovating the Zora stone monuments that had fallen to ruin. There are 11 stone monuments total find in and around Zora's Domain, including the one you are now reading. The former text written by my father, King Dorephan, could not be salvaged, and so sadly it had to be replaced. Despite my royal blood, whispers abound that it is improper for someone my age to write over the king's glorious words. Ah, but do they not realize that it was King Dorephan himself who ordered me to undertake this restoration project? Father says it is not set in stone that I shall be the one to inherit the throne, as it is not a matter of blood alone. If we ask the eternal skies above whether I am fit to rule, they shall remain silent, and so we must look to our fellow Zora. He urged me to use these monuments to share my learnings and speak to our people straight from my heart. Father is older and wiser than I. His sage advice is a gift. As such, I have inscribed my thoughts upon these 11 stones. I do not know how far-reaching my words shall be, but it is my hope that they will reach whoever needs to hear them most. Until one of the descendants writes over my musings many years from now, I pray they resonate with whoever reads them.
WELL there we are, thanks for the history lesson Sidon you absolute sweetie fhjdkdjf i have thoughts and feelings and emotions but i wont make this post any longer than it already is but i love these characters byeeeEEE

Where did Yona come from and why it matters.
I’ve been thinking about for a while but everything in the game implies that Yona isn’t from the Domain. Everyone in the Domain knows who Link is because Link has had the Domain practically be his second home. The Elderly, the Middle Aged and even the Children all know who Link is especially after he directly saved their home and created a statue in his Honor. It’s not like Hylians where he did so much work with a majority of the population didn’t know what he even looks like. Or like the Gerudo where most didn’t even know he was there. Link is an honest and true hero and icon for the Domain.
All this to say Yona doesn’t know who Link is, talks as if she showed up some time after the events of the first game, has directly mentioned visiting the domain with her entourage, King Dorephan and Sidon talk about her and handful of time like she’s not from around here, not to mention she’s royalty herself. All this goes to ask if she’s not from the Domain where is she from and I think it’s a deceptively simple answer: she’s from the Ocean.
In other games they make a point to show that theirs inland Zora and Sea Zora. The Zora of Zora’s Domain has always had their Domain in a large Water Source point that has rivers that extend across Hyrule. Zora’s Domain has never been in the Ocean. Yet we have had a small handful of opportunities to show they can and do live in the Ocean too. With Yona being an outsider and a Royal in her own right the only logical place she came from was the Ocean not too far from the Domain.
I always assumed theirs more Kingdoms outside of Hyrule as Hyrule is the name of a Kingdom, not the world. With Yona being a Royal from a kingdom beyond Hyrule it opens new possibilities and ideas for the future if Nintendo wants to take it.
The Gorons have no formal government and are simply subjects of the Hyrule Crown, Zora’s Domain is explicitly called a Kingdom itself but are vassals of Hyrule (this is probably simply because Zora value the water of Hyrule more than the land so theirs no real need for anything more) The Gerudo are interestingly never mentioned as subjects of Hyrule in any capacity and are called Allies instead meaning that they’re an independent Kingdom. (Given they have a Kingdom in the Desert theirs probably more cities and towns in the Gerudo desert we just don’t encounter because it’s a DESERT nation, that tends to be spread a little more thin. The Rito are an interesting case because while they don’t have a government they very clearly have a structure that could be the equivalent of one. The Rito have always had a very Native American feel to them. They may have status like the Zora, recognized as their own group and boundaries respected but still ultimately subject to the crown.
Now with Yona we have another independent Kingdom that is not allied to the Crown but rather allied to The Domain through marriage. I’m a nerd when it comes to fantasy and medieval politics so this revelation just gets my mind buzzing.

Inspirations for the Sages in A Link Between Worlds
The Sages in A Link Between Worlds are a diverse bunch of characters, unlike the Sages and Maidens from its prequel A Link to the Past, who are all depicted as the same robed men or color-swapped girls respectively. They seem to take more after the Sages from Ocarina of Time, who are from a variety of races and are more distinctive overall. While some of the Sages in A Link Between Worlds take after those from Ocarina of Time, most of them are firmly rooted in A Link to the Past.
Gulley
Tumblr media
Gulley is often said to be inspired by the Kokiri from Ocarina of Time, but I don't think that is necessarily correct. Instead, he takes far more after Flute Boy from A Link to the Past in his design. Flute Boy is also found in the Haunted Grove in A Link to the Past, a place that Gulley also frequents. It is possible that the Kokiri as a whole were inspired by Flute Boy as well, given their similar designs, but Gulley's design remains closer to Flute Boy's than to the Kokiri.
Tumblr media
Oren
Tumblr media
The enemy Zora queen Oren does seem to take after Ruto from Ocarina of Time, as she has a far more humanoid design than the other enemy Zoras that appear in many of the 2D Zelda games. But she does also remain steeped in A Link to the Past, as her Zora's Domain is where Zora's Waterfall was in that game. Oren's design falls more in the middle between the Zora designs common in the 3D games and the enemy Zoras seen in the 2D games.
Rosso
Tumblr media
Rosso is a bit of a contentious topic, though he does have obvious ties to the Gorons. He has a belt buckle bearing their symbol and also looks the part with his physique, though he has a few non-Goron traits as well such as ears and fiery red hair. In-universe, he is just a human as Gorons were revealed to sprout from the ground in Tears of the Kingdom, which would make Rosso having Goron ancestry difficult. That said, he still is a clear reference to the Gorons given he is a miner on Death Mountain and he doesn't seem to take after any character from A Link to the Past.
Osfala
Tumblr media
Osfala doesn't take from any character in particular, instead seemingly being inspired by how sagely characters were depicted in A Link to the Past in general. This includes the robed sages of the Imprisoning War and their descendant Sahasrahla. Unsurprisingly, Osfala is also the apprentice of A Link Between Worlds's incarnation of Sahasrahla.
Irene
Tumblr media
Irene takes after the witches Syrup and Maple from A Link to the Past (specifically its GBA release where Maple is concerned), which is also evidenced by Irene living in the same hut as them. She lives alongside her grandmother, who may actually be an elderly Maple, given her Lorule counterpart is called "Mapes".
Tumblr media
Impa
Tumblr media
Impa has been a staple of the series since its inception, appearing since the first Zelda game. Impa in A Link Between Worlds is an elderly lady, which is how she appears in the original NES titles, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Impa in A Link Between Worlds is part of this line of old Impas and doesn't pull from any one incarnation in particular.
Seres
Tumblr media
Finally, Seres is a reference to the Maidens from A Link to the Past, who served the same role as the Sages in A Link Between World do gameplay-wise. She is a maiden as well who takes after them when it comes to appearance. Her father meanwhile is the Priest of the Sanctuary. While a similar character did exist in A Link to the Past, he did not have any confirmed family that can serve as a more concrete analogue to Seres.

I wish puppet Zelda’s existence had some actual, tangible consequences in the story.
Like as far as anyone knows before the battle with phantom Ganon, someone they trusted and saw as an ally arrived to bring misery on their people. Surely they’re not all so busy worshiping the ground totk zeldy walks on that they all just accept that she’d decide to do that with no pushback whatsoever? Hell Yunobo is worried that the monster she summoned to try and kill him might hurt her instead of being pissed that she summoned a monster to kill him. Like what if a few of the elderly Zora, still grieving Mipha and now poisoned by sludge, take it as a sign that allying with Hyrule is a bad idea? Or Yunobo shakes off the brainwashing, sees what’s become of his people, and wants her to answer for it? Sidon learns that “Zelda” attacked his father and decides he’s not interested in hearing excuses for her actions if she’d go so far as to harm his only living family? Riju feels torn because she doesn’t want to believe someone she considers a friend would cause so much suffering, but the Gerudo are calling for justice and she has to place their needs above everything else? Tulin ends up at odds with his father because Teba insists on staying quiet so they don’t harm their relationship with Hyrule? There are so many juicy story threads presented by the concept of a fake Zelda that could put Link and the sages in conflict with their communities, loved ones, and each other that just never go anywhere because even the fake Zeldy Ganondorf built is too perfect to ever be questioned

hello!! pls tell me about dr kwan 🫡 😭 🤦‍♀️
KWAN KWAN KWAN KWAN KWAN
ahem
Okay so!
how likely are they to go along with a prank
Kwan is selective in her pranking. Most people will never see her pull a prank. Most people don't believe she has a sense of humour. Wars certainly doesn't.
But she's just choosey. Because she knows just how impactful a quick, smart prank can be. And she's SO dry about it, it's hard to believe that she just pulled a prank even when she does it in front of you.
But her pranks are incredible.
what embarrassing thing has someone else seen them do that they want to keep secret
HMMMMMM so Kwan is a stately, reserved, elderly Zora. Zora don't have the best relationship with cats but Kwan? Kwan loves them. She has a pet cat called Queen Rutala and she ADORES her. But no one knows this. And they certainly don't know that she baby talks to her while feeding her individual bites of sushi.
Wars knows, though. He walked into therapy early, once, and saw. It was one of the best moments of his life.
what makes them facepalm EVERY time?
Warriors' inability to be kind to himself
hmmmm so whenever Wars gets uncomfortable he makes really bad jokes. Like the kind of jokes that dad jokes are embarrassed by. And Kwan knows it'ss a coping mechanism, but damn.
They are bad jokes.
Thank you! I love Kwan!

Bengiyo's Queer Cinema Syllabus
For those who are not aware, I have decided to run the gauntlet of @bengiyo’s Queer Cinema Syllabus and have officially started Unit 2: Race, Disability, and Class. The films in Unit 2 are: The Way He Looks (2014), Being 17 (2016), Naz and Maalik (2015), The Obituary of Tunde Johnson (2019), Margarita With a Straw (2014), My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), Brother to Brother (2004), and Beautiful Thing (1996)
Today I will be writing about
Brother to Brother (2004) dir. Rodney Evans
Tumblr media
[Run Time- 1:31, Available- Amazon, Netflix, Language: English”
Summary: “A drama that looks back on the Harlem Renaissance from the perspective of an elderly, black writer who meets a gay teenager in a New York homeless shelter.” from IMDB
Cast: * Anthony Mackie as Perry * Roger Robinson as Bruce
___
God. You know what. I am really fucking glad that I decided to do this project. Because there are so many beautiful pieces of art out there that I never knew existed and it has been such a treat to experience them now.
I don’t know if y’all know this about me, but I am an absolute slut for beautiful prose, and this film is just plastered scene to scene with wonderful words. This film is poetry. Which makes sense because it centers heavily around Richard Bruce Nuget, and other famous authors and artists of the Harlem Renaissance: Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, and Wallace Thurman. This film is woven through with their words, their lives, their experiences. It was just…
It’s a reminder for me that I have a lot more reading to do.
Because, I’ll be honest, I haven’t read any of their work. I think in high school we were asked to read Their Eyes Were Watching God in my American Literature class, but we were asked to do so as an optional reading over a school break, so no one did it.
Tumblr media
Brother to Brother just so beautifully unpacked the multiple layers of oppression that come from being Black and queer. There are so many conversations in this film about how Black gay men have historically been harmed by white communities for being Black, and by Black communities for being gay. This is not a film where much happens, the forward progression does not really exist. Instead the audience is taken on a journey through the past, to the life and times of the Harlem Renaissance.
I loved everything about this film. I loved that the memories were told in black and white, that they rooted us in the time. That Perry and Bruce could stand in a corner watching the scene unfold, imaging, remembering the life that existed in Harlem. That they could stand in this broken down home, abandoned and falling to pieces, and remember when it was real, and habitable.
A decent amount of this film takes place in the former home that Bruce lived in when he and the other famous writers were all living together in Harlem. In 2004, the house is in ruins, condemned, wood rotting, dust everywhere. And there is a moment near the end of the film where Perry sees a door beyond the stairway for the first time and he asks “what’s this door?” and Bruce responds “That was Langston’s room,” and I was just…struck by this weight. This is a film set, I know this, and yet I was just hit with the force of understanding that there are doors all over the world that important people, influential famous historical people slept behind.
And that includes the closet door.
Tumblr media
Bruce Nuget was important for many reasons, but in case you don’t know anything about him, as I did not until like three hours ago, Bruce Nuget was one of the few publicly out gay men of the time. I cannot find much on his Wikipedia page about how he lived, but in Brother to Brother, Bruce is presented as a homeless man. Which, accurate to his actual life or not, was a very important detail for me. Because I have worked with unhoused people in the past, and they are people society so frequently disregards, and there are many assumptions placed on unhoused folk about their contributions to society. Homeless people are so frequently referred to and regarded as net negatives to society, and yet, I know people who are unhoused who graduated from fucking MIT, and who worked as nurses, and how are putting themselves through school right now. And please do not get me wrong here, homeless folk who do not have those types of accolades ascribed to them are just as important and vital to society and their community.
But to have this prominent, famous writer, painter, artist be unhoused both, in my mind, acts as a metaphor for the destruction that was wrought upon his life as he lost his friends one by one, and as the Harlem Renaissance disappeared in to the Great Depression. And it also serves as a reminder that fame and notoriety do not protect Black gay men. Perry says to Bruce something like “I can’t believe you’re homeless, a respected author of the Harlem Renaissance” and Bruce responds with “I was sleeping in hallways and rooftops then, what’s the difference now? Respected? You couldn’t write about being gay then.”
Queer people, queer culture, has always been driven and supported by the unhoused, by sex workers, by trans women of color. It is important that Bruce be homeless in this film. It is important for us to see how our society fails its citizens, especially intentionally.
Tumblr media
As a white person myself, I am not certain I have a place to discuss in depth and detail the commentary in Brother to Brother around homophobia in the Black community that is constantly being referred to. So I’ll let the film speak for itself here:
“James Baldwin wasn’t tolerated. I mean, he was basically silenced because him being gay as a threat to the major leaders of the civil rights movement.” || “I didn’t even know James Baldwin was gay” ||“We’re talking about activism and political struggle, not what people do with their sex organs. If you like to take it up the ass- The majority of people at the time didn’t care that Baldwin was gay, That’s completely beside the point”  || “This class is about Black political struggle” || “And what I have to say has nothing to do with that?”
“That anger you feel about white people is how brothers feel about me being gay” || “You know if you got in to any trouble, they still got your back.”
“I know about white men and black men, and I’ve been menaced by both.” || “That’s right, and the psychic distance between love and hate is the same as the physical distance between a smile and a sneer”
And since this syllabus is technically a build up towards BL, I want to mention briefly that some of these statements remind me a lot of the messages in The Eclipse. Because The Eclipse discusses as part of its main thesis that in order to keep the status quo, you can weaponize oppressed groups against their own people, or against other oppressed groups as a means of survival. Chadok is a gay man, and his authoritarianism is driven from trying to remain in a position of power. Akk is a gay teen, and he is being manipulated and brainwashed by a gay man in to enacting terrible deeds against other gay teens.
Tumblr media
Similarly, Brother to Brother says: “blacks and queers were the vices that needed to be cleaned up to get the country back up on its feet,” which to me serves to unite Black people and queer people in a common struggle.
I also drew a parallel between the messages in Brother to Brother and the way that I have been engaging and discussing Only Friends, in a scene where Nuget, Hurston, Hughes, Thurman are discussing starting their literary magazine Fire!! comes the line:
“They have been so busy justifying their presence in a hostile, racist environment that they’ve ceased to be human beings. With the new magazine we will cease to look for respectability in the white person’s eyes. We will express the beauty and ugliness of our individual selves for ourselves. If anything is deemed disturbing or pornographic, then so much the better”
And it instantly made me think of the conversations I have been having around queerness and respectability politics/respectable promiscuity in Only Friends. I was thinking about my essays on queer culture, cruising, tearooms, etc. when I was watching a young Bruce Nuget get arrested for engaging in sex in a public bathroom. I was thinking about the Steven Barker photo I added to this post and the photobook it came from, when I was watching Wallace Thurman taking nude photos at a house party. I think Brother to Brother just so seamlessly integrates the realities of queer life in to its story.
For me, this is one of those “everyone should watch it” types of films. It was beautiful the whole way through.
For/By/About
Tumblr media
Gay Trifecta!
Again, the for is a little tenuous, because I always feel like the race, disability, or class element in this unit’s films is what is supposed to be highlighted. But this is a story of a Black gay man learning from a Black gay man. And those two things are absolutely and inextricably linked. The way this film discusses homophobia, the way queerness is included and referenced, just feels like it is speaking to queer people.
Favorite Moment
Tumblr media
This is really difficult. I think my favorite scene is this moment where Bruce is talking with a bartender friend of his about recognizing someone you barely know. He gives this beautiful line:
“...Their entire past and future flashes right before your eyes. And your heart starts beating faster, cause you know how hard their life’s gonna be. And it just tears you up inside. I just listened and stared at him. And I wanted to hold him. And I looked down at my hand and thought to myself, “Where’d this come from?” You ever think like that? Like, “What’s the hot piece of ass doing trapped in this old man’s body?””
Because there are a few other moments in this film where Bruce is thinking about the past, and he is always and constantly looking at himself as a young man. It is just this wonderful visual representation of adulthood, of aging, and of maintaining a spirit that burns forever young and passionate. And it is especially wonderful to watch, knowing that some of Bruce’s friends died so young. Knowing that by the time we meet Bruce in the present he is the only one remaining.
Favorite Quote
“I think Langston really taught me about kindness. Zora taught me how to listen, and Wally, he showed me how to use words like weapons and how to have fun with them. Actually, maybe I taught him that.”
This line is said by Bruce to Perry, and it is, for me, just an absolutely beautiful reminder that history lives right beside us. That these massively important, influential people, were just that…people. They were friends, they learned from each other, they partied, they fought, and they left this world some truly beautiful words.

Zora OCs pt 2!
Here are the rest of the zora ocs I have!
Here is Moraiya!
Tumblr media
Gender: Female •  Age: 34 (hylian years)  • Species: Zebra Shark Zora • Height: 10′6″  • Personality: Boisterous, Stubborn, Blunt, Hot-headed, Empathetic   • Friends with: Hamar
General info: Born with the ability to speak and understand monsters by the goddess. Due to this gift, she was also born with a monstrous appearance. Thankfully, the place she was born in was already was a home to “abnormal” looking zoras, so she fit right in. At a young age she would go to monster camps and wrestle with the monsters, even made a few monstrous friends. Nowadays as an adult, she helps people understand and study certain monsters without putting themselves in too much risk. (Goddess Blood Universe) Due to the news of her gift reaching the ears of the Zora’s Domain, she was sought after and taken in her early teens to be among the other zoras like her, to her dismay. She had a rough upbringing in the domain and resents most of it’s people for treating her differently. Only a few zoras, including the gifted ones, is she comfortable with being around.
Next Up is Eleanor!
Tumblr media
Gender: Female •  Age: Unknown (over 1000+ years, adult/elderly)   • Species: Sea Emperor Zora • Height: 101′1″  • Personality: Gentle, Motherly, Open-minded, Selfless, Workaholic  •Mother to: Lazarith (adoptive)
General info: The oldest of her siblings, she was meant to be the next heir to the throne in her kingdom. She was married to another sea emperor and they were a generally happy couple. Sadly, Eleanor discovered she could not bare children, to her dismay. She and her husband were forced to separate once the news of her infertility was out. At one point, she adopted a ghost leviathan child and started to raise him as her own kin. This decision would cause an outcry as ghost leviathans were feared and hated. Because of the hostility towards her and her child, she decided to raise him in the wilds (open ocean), away from the kingdom. Now that he had grown up and “left the nest”, Eleanor quietly waits for his visit, hoping to see him one more time before her time is up.
Last but not least, Lazarith!
Tumblr media
Gender: Male •  Age: Unknown (over 1000+ years, adult)   • Species: Ghost Leviathan Zora • Height:  78'9"  • Personality: Stoic, Quick-tempered, Quiet, Loyal, Curious •Child to: Eleanor (adoptive)
General info: Born in what is essentially the wilds of the ocean, he was aggressive and fought for his survival amongst other ghost leviathan children. One day he would wonder from home in search for new food and to satiate his curiosity. He stubbles upon a sea emperor society and is arrested on the spot for almost eating a sea emperor child. He was to be executed, until Eleanor declared she would adopt him and raise him as her own in an attempt to save his life. He struggled to adjust living under a society he didn’t understand a lot at the time and despised it, but he never despised Eleanor. He bonded with her, seeing her as his mother. Now as an adult, he wanders in the depths of the ocean known as the Void.

Hello again, I am back with more zorca stuff! This mostly falls under the prompt "Accessorize." It began with wanting to show off the large body types Cironus and his family have, and then I kept adding more tidbits. As mentioned in a previous post, they're big eaters. They need the energy for all the traveling they do, and to keep themselves warm when they dive into colder depths of the ocean!
As the chart says; because zorca are so large they can't fit into traditional zora armor. They use kelp and sea shells as an alternative. Actual whales of different species do play with kelp! It's speculated they do it as a form of exfoliating but have also concluded they're being goobers too :3
Cironus has a nick in his dorsal fin, and other family members have their own unique scars and marks as well due to factors such as battle, or courtship, but its all how they can know who's who on sight! All of the pod works together to take care of the young, sick and elderly as well ;u; When baby zorca are born their white patches are an orange/peachy color and as they put on more weight they start to turn white. Young zorca don't venture out till they reach adulthood, and majority of them stick with their families for life!
An orca pod is led by a matriarch who is usually the oldest member of the family. With her knowledge she guides the pod, teaching them about parenting, hunting skills and how to navigate the ocean. As the Matriarch, Granny would be considered royalty among her family. Four generations make up her pod, but only the women zorca inherit leadership when the former matriarch steps down.

On day two of playing BotW for the first time:
-I'm just boppin around minding my own buisiness hunting for shrines and some random Zora pops up and begs me for help. No, sir - I wanted to do fireblight first because that's the one everyone told me was easiest. But alas - waterblight here we come I guess??
-Lads I only have four hearts. Deep concern we might be a wee be underleveled here, but we PERSIST.
-Can't tell whether the elderly Zora are racist or whether they have a right to be passed at the Hylians - was not expecting politics. But stop blaming Link for not saving the world he's like seventeen. Sir, that's a baby.
-NO ONE TOLD ME I HAD TO FIGHT A LYNEL. I COMPLETED THE ENTIRETY OF TOTK WITHOUT EVER BEING ABLE TO DEFETE A LYNEL, NOW YOU'RE TELLING ME I HAVE TO DO THAT SHIT WITH ONLY FOUR HEARTS???
-I accidently cut grass - I didn't know you could do that- and found a fairy!
-Immediatly lost the fairy fighting the Lynel. Also broke all my shields, all my swords, drank seven potions, and ate every piece of food I had including raw meat.
-Turns out I can also flurry rush! Totk once again, just did not work for me apparently. Why on earth parrying and flurryrushing never once worked in that game is beyond me.
-We kicked Lynel ass - I only died 1029390203 times and was so stressed I could feel my heart palpitations in my eyeballs and had to step away for a cup of tea so I wouldn't cry. Epic gaymer moment.
-Why can you sleep in Sidons bed????
