@primowishes asked:
[ PERSEVERE ] : sender, having received a particularly bad wound, tells receiver they're fine, but ends up collapsing later on. (Bonanus + Indarias)
PROMPTS THAT MAKE YOU GO 👀
Fighting was what they were used to - the toil of this war was engraved into each of them, her sisters and brothers fighting by her side in order to protect the nation that was their home. This was their sacred duty, one that she would never give up for the world, and yet, the time would come when she'd be forced to - as it would for them all. Already, she could feel the claws of madness scratching at her mind - that distraction being the reason as to why her dearest sister had received such an injury in the first place. They weren't delicate by any imagination, and as such, the benefit of the doubt had been given when Bonanus had said Indarias' patchwork of dressing the wound had been enough, at least until they made it back to safety. Such words she'd taken for heart, perhaps as she didn't wish to believe her carelessness had hurt her sister in such a brutal manner - but as the rain continued to fall, and her own footsteps become rather laboured, Bonanus had been the one to fall to the ground.
With a short gasp, Indarias wrapped her warms carefully around the fallen Yakasha, pulling them under a nearby shelter, kneeling down to once again examine the wound. "...these type of things...we cannot lie about", she sighed lightly, but she couldn't find it within herself to grow angry, not at her sister at least. She'd just need to carry her back to the others - Indarais shifting the limp body to rest against her back instead, a deep breathe taken, before she was darting off into the rain, holding her precious cargo as carefully as she could.

in another life - xiao
@thesteambird's secret santa for @swordfish-ii | i tried to make it cozy and angsty but i'm not sure if i succeeded. i hope you enjoy!
“Do you ever think about what we’d be doing if we were born human?” You asked as you gazed up at the sky. It was beginning to snow now. Not heavily, no. It looked as if snowflakes were fluttering across the sky, dotting the torn landscape.
Xiao followed your gaze as he sat beside where you lay. Wounds and bruises littered his skin and torn were his clothes. The spear in his hand was embedded into the earth, the only thing standing before you both.
“I’ve
never considered such idle musings,” he replied.
He was tired. So tired.
You laughed, though paused midway to cough up the blood threatening to drown your lungs.
“Really? Not once?”
He shook his head. “I don’t see the point in thinking about things that can’t happen.”
You sighed.
“Always so serious,” you pouted. “Well, I like to think about things like that. For example, I bet Brother Bosacius would be a construction worker. Or maybe a blacksmith, you know, with his muscles he’s so proud of and all. And Brother Menogias would be leading the Liyue fashion industry, obviously,” you began, humming in thought. “I bet Rex Lapis would still order clothes from him, even if he was human.”
“I can see that.”
“And Sister Bonanus? I bet she’d be a model for Brother Menogias. Ironic, considering how they ended in this life. I can see her flooding his workshop with all the long pretty dresses she adored.”
“Sister Indarias
I don’t know what she’d be. A business woman, maybe?” You mused. “She was always the fiery type.”
As you spoke, Xiao kept his eyes on the sky, tracing the snowflakes that fell. He didn’t look at the decimated surroundings. Away from his view was your battered body and broken bones. And the memory he held of the frenzied battle against each other just minutes before was out of sight. How you managed to get a brief moment of lucidity from the cancer that was karmic debt was beyond him.
“You
you would be a Wushou dancer,” you began, your voice weaker. “Or some kind of performer part of a troupe, known for your skill and agility. You’d wow the crowds with your acrobatic stunts, I bet. And as for me
 I don’t know. Perhaps a normal civilian.”
You coughed again, softer this time. No doubt your eyes would start losing their focus soon. He didn’t have to look at you to know. He’d seen it so, so many times before.
“And somehow
we’d all be friends, even though we’re so different,” you finally said, a smile evident in your voice. “Brother Bosacius would play pranks on you like usual. Sister Bonanus and Sister Indarias would stay up late chatting about makeup. I’d be begging Brother Menogias for a new outfit. Everything
 like how it should be.”
It was quiet between you both now as you stared at the sky. It was beginning to snow heavier now. Soon the evidence of your madness would be lost under a blanket of white.
“Do you
” You began, your voice wavering for the first time, even weaker than it was before. There was not much time left now. “Do you think our next lives will be happier? And that
 we will all be friends?”
“I
 don’t know.”
That’s all he could say. Though your words painted a beautiful picture, they weren’t reality. The truth was often less kind than one would hope for. And the last thing he could do was lie to you. You deserved more than that.
“But
”
If you wanted honesty

His gaze finally turned back to you. There you lie—bruised and battered, bleeding from your wounds, and still as beautiful as the day he first saw you. But gone was the light from your lovely eyes. You would speak no more.
His eyes shut as he let out a tired exhausted sigh. Then, he turned his eyes back up at the sky.
“If
if it did turn out that way
 I suppose I wouldn’t mind.”

Time, As Fleeting As The Sun At Its Set
Morax has to settle a little
 dispute between the Yakshas.
Only after he has done so does he realize that
that time is long gone. All he has left to truly remember it is Alatus, the last of his Yakshas.
He doesn’t let himself dwell on it for too long though, after all, they weren’t really family
and there’s no way to get them back

_________________________________
Alatus: Xiao
Indarias: Pyro Yaksha
Bosacius: Electro Yaksha
Bonanus: Hydro Yaksha
Menogias: Geo Yaksha
_________________________________
Morax stood on the balcony of Wangshu Inn, looking out over the shores of Liyue. He admired the view from so high above. It was
 calming. Peaceful.
“Morax!!” A voice disrupted his serene moment and in seconds, someone was running up from behind him.
“Indarias, is something the matter?” Morax asked, turning to her.
“Yes! Well- no? It doesn’t matter! Alatus is after me!” She cried, going to hide behind him.
“Alatus?”
He had never been an angry type
the calmest of all the Yakshas. What had the others done to anger him?
“MORAXX!!” Another voice called out.
Again, another one of his Yakshas was running to him, fear on his face.
“Bosacius. I’m assuming you are here because Alatus is upset with you?” Morax asked as Indarias peeked out from behind his shoulder.
“Yes! He’s gone full Yaksha mode!” Bosacius cried.
“May I ask what you did to anger him?” Morax asked with a light chuckle to his voice.
“Well
 we might’ve used some ink
”
“And Alatus was asleep! So I mean- we weren’t expecting him to wake up!”
“Yeah, hes a deep sleeper!”
“But it was all harmless fun!”
The two guilty Yaksha’s attempted to explain when two more Yakshas walked closer. Yet
 they did not seem scared.
Of course, these were Bonanus and Menogias, both of whom were calm souls. Menogias was the most like Morax himself, level-headed and smart. Bonanus was a little more skittish and was a fan of unnecessary fighting. With these two, it made sense why they weren’t running. They likely had nothing to do with the situation.
“Great of you to join us, I'm assuming Alatus is not after you both?” Morax asked as the other two calmly strode in.
Well, Menogias was calm, but Bonanus looked a bit spooked.
“Haha, yep! Indarias, Bosacius- you two certainly got yourselves in big trouble! You might want to start digging their burial sites now, Morax!” Menogias joked.
“Ah, Alatus would never get rid of one of you. He holds you all too dear. I would stop him before anything like that happened.” Morax explained.
“He
wasn’t really being serious, Morax.” Bonanus told him.
“Oh
right, of course.” Morax said, acting as though he already knew that.
“But in all seriousness, he is mad.” Menogias warned.
“I’m not mad
 I just want to talk
” A voice spoke out from the walkway.
As Menogias and Bonanus parted for Morax to see the victim of a harmless joke, Bosacius and Indarias tried to hide behind him even more.
Morax then saw the damage. They had
scribbled all over him with ink. Interesting

“Alatus, I shall give them a sufficient punishment, your retaliation is not needed.” Morax stated as Alatus came closer.
“I just want to talk.” Alatus said again.
“Yes but perhaps you should do that when your weapon is not drawn?” Morax offered, walking to meet Alatus halfway.
As they met in the middle of the balcony, Alatus stared up at Morax defiantly. After a pretty intense staring contest, Alatus gave up, dropping his weapon.
“Whatever
Give them whatever punishment that you want. Just know that the ink they used was yours
I was going to retaliate for you
 not for me.”
Now that piqued the gods' interest.
“My ink you say
 Interesting
” Morax mused.
He turned to face the two culprits, who were now as pale as ghosts.
“Haha- wow- look at the time! I- I think I hear Guizhong calling for me!” Indarias said, laughing and attempting to stand on the ledge of the balcony, as far away from Morax as possible.
“Y-yeah A-and I promised Cloud Retainer that I would help with some uh- um- g-gadget today! Yeah!” Bosacius laughed similarly.
Menogias and Bonanus moved out of the way as Morax got closer.
“A shame
I was going to throw a feast this afternoon and I wanted all of you to attend. Too bad you’ll both be too busy out buying me new ink and brushes. And you’ll also both have mandated sparing lessons with Alatus tomorrow. I’ll prepare your burial sites tonight.” Morax explained, then smiled at the end.
Everyone was silent with fear.
“Hm? Did you not like my joke?” He asked.
The two Yakshas that were now looking from one another to the god, slowly smiled anxiously and let out a forced laugh.
“Oh yeah! Hahaha, that was great! I seriously thought you wanted us to spend hours buying ink or something!” Indarias laughed.
“Yeah, or that you really were gonna let Alatus hurt us that badly!” Bosacius joined.
Morax then looked perplexed.
“Oh, I was serious about the inks. I will be expecting new inks and brushes. The feast was a lie though, and the sparring session is up to Xiao.” Morax explained.
The two Yakshas let out sighs of relief.
“Now then, you can all go on, back to you interests. I have a meeting with Guizhong in a few, and I would like to have a bit of privacy.” Zhongli said, turning to the other three as the two yakshas in front of him got off the railing.
“Ohh~ Tell her I said hi!” Bonanus smiled.
“Yes, and that we hope she is doing well.” Menogias said.
“I will, she will appreciate it. She holds you all dear just as I do.” Morax began, “I’m glad you all feel the same, and I’m sure she does too
.”
Morax then began a rant, as he usually does. It isn’t really boring just
common. By the end of his rant, the Yakshas felt calm once more and ready to leave him alone. His rants tend to have that affect. So, one by one, the Yakshas left him to stare off again.
Except one.
“You’re reminicing again, Zhongli?” Xiao said, coming up beside him.
Zhongli
 right
 that was his name now
The sun had now set, and there were no longer the sounds of laughter and joking from inside the Inn.
“Ah yes, I suppose I was
” Zhongli said softly, turning to the Yaksha.
As he looked at him, he couldn’t help but feel
quite sentimental. The only Yaksha left.
“Guizhong used to say that ‘the time spent alone may feel freeing, but when one allows themself to truly be surrounded by love, that is the real freedom.’... And I always remember those words
”
“It sounds like something Bonanus would have said
”
“Indeed.”
The two stood together on the balcony, perhaps both thinking of a softer time. Zhongli couldn’t remember when Xiao left, as his mind had begun to wander again. Time
it was as fleeting as the sun before him, setting right before his eyes.
You miss them too much. You wont get them back, so theres no reason to dwell, Morax.
They weren’t your kin
your children. Get that through your skull.
Yet sometimes
 it feels like they were

@yunarise: Bonanus hums a somber tune, focused on the still waters before her but nontheless aware of her martial brother's presence behind her. She smiles gently at her reflection before turning to look over her shoulder. "Will you braid my hair for me?"
Tumblr media
It is easy for any of his siblings to pull a gentle smile from his lips, yet they seem to come so much more readily in her presence. Perhaps, he muses, it is because he feels so more at ease around her - Indarias is too vibrant, Bosacius too loud, and he is always so worried for Alatus. He loves them all, of course, but it is easier to find peace with Bonanus.
He doesn't hesitate; he takes up position behind her, sleeves already swept back to allow for more freedom of movement. "Gladly." He replies, his voice as soft as the earth beneath them.
Tumblr media
His fingers get to work, twining strands of hair into elegant, complex braids, weaving them together to create a unique work of art. Nothing he does is ever simple. "Is everything well, sister?" The sombre tune had not escaped his notice. "What brings you out here alone?"

Delve In The Depths. Chapter II.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count. 1.5k
a/n. Just a quick btw, Meno gave Xiao the nickname "Emerald duck" because emerald ducks have greenish teal stripes on their heads and Xiao has teal undertones in his hair.
Trigger Warnings. Mentions of death and violence

Chapter II.
Again and again these waves crash over Xiao's subconscious. Riptides of lost human dreams, the tsunamis of guilt, and the eons of pain build each other up, growing larger as they drown him in endless suffering. Waves of black vapor cloud his person. He clutches his mask
He can hear their screams now as he writhes on the top floor of Wangshu Inn in agony, barely supporting the weight of his body with his arms leaning on the balcony rails.
"Xiao, Xiao!" he turns his head to see Verr Goldet franticly searching for him.
"There's someone downstairs, the-they, Verr Goldet stutters on her words, waving her arms around unlike her usual composed self.
Xiao doesn't wait for to finish, he grabs his pole arm by reflex prepared to strike the threat down.
Instead he's met with a person grappling with pain on the floor.

"Why slime condensate exactly?"
"Hm?" Xiangling gives you a genuinely confused look despite it not exactly being the social norm to add slime liquids to a meal. She was climbing up a sandbearer tree. The striped squirrels on the ground scatter upon her arrival.
"What gave you the idea to add slime into your dishes?" you clarify, trying not to come off as rude. Tossing the wicker basket between your hands as a form of entertainment while your culinary friend ducked her head underneath a branch.
The trees ruffle and flocks of crimson flinches and golden flinches fly off to the sky as Xiangling forages around in the tree branches for bird eggs.
"What gave you the idea that not everything is edible?" she playfully teases, now placing bird eggs by sets of two in the basket she previously gave you in Wanmin Restaurant.
You giggle, covering your hands with your mouth. She motions for you to put the basket down and come over while she grabs you by the shoulders ("Don't you dare-") and hops down. Unfortunately, you aren't heavy enough to support her body weight when she jumps down with her full force.
"Ugh!" you groan as you both tumble down to the floor. You raise a hand to your head and cover your forehead. "Was that really necessary?" you sigh, already far too used to her antics. She snickers.
As you regain your footing, you ask, "How far along are we exactly? My mother will have an aneurysm if we step foot in Moon City.*" Xiangling had already run off, and with the basket no doubt.
You look to your right and find her by the lake counting hydro slimes behind a crack between a few slabs of stone. You crouch down besides her. Her charcoal hair brushes against your mulberry silk skirt.
"1,2,3,4." Yes! this is definitely enough for my new dish!" she pumps her fist in the air.
You don't remember there being a lake to the far right in the places your mother told you to stick to.
"Let me guess," you strike a thinking pose, you want me to set up a new shop here for your new culinary competition?" you sarcastically muse.
She rolls her eyes. "No, silly I-," she stops at your amused expression. "Ah- well go on than."
You reach your arm to summon your now unsheathed dagger attached to the leather belt on your waist, ignoring the long bow and arrows attached on your back and rather choosing a melee weapon,
Standing up from your hiding spot, the group hydro slime flock, well bounce towards you.
The air turns frosty and Xiangling's teeth chatter while she rubs her arms in hopes of warming up. "Don't turn me into a chef popsicle before I get the slime condensate [Name]!"
As you kneel down to slam the stiletto dagger into sand, sharp edged flower patterns appear on the ground. The slimes teeter back at the sound chill between their mass before large icicles spring up, piercing their bodies and turning them into goo.
"Woo!" Xiangling jumps above the rock pile and excitedly cheers. Pumping her arms up. "That's my girl!"
"It was nothing really. What was it you needed next again? Of course after you've collected the slime condensate of course." you stop talking as Xiangling sweeps the slightly frozen slime fluids off the crystals you've created into a glass bottle.
"Well talking about other ingredients, I actually wanted to try something." she mentions with a certain twinkle in her eyes.
"You have my attention." You wave your hand at her to go on.
"You know that cooking competition? The one I had in the Mondstadt with the chef named Brooke?"
"I don't recall you telling me that, can you specify?" racking your brain for memories of Xiangling's rantings about food. You suddenly feel drops of sweat on your back despite not being lukewarm at the very best. It must just be from the excitement from fighting the slimes, you think pushing away your other thoughts on the matter.
"Well anyways, we found this extinct species of boar with the help of the traveler, I believe they're called the honorary knight now?" she taps her chin. "That's besides the point but, anyways, it made me think of the different varieties of possible meat options I could use with different monsters. Can you go with me north of Jueyun Karst with me to find a Stonehide Lawachurl?" She claps her hands together into a begging motion. "Please, Please?"
"Mhm, I'm not sure how fast we can make it there? You didn't hear my question before when I was asking where we were before. I'm planning on packing my bags early when I go home overmorrow." you say counting the possible time it would take you to pack all your belongings. Black spots appear in your vision. You open your mouth to speak, but nothing comes out.
"Hmm, I'd say if we're lucky, a few hours? It's lucky that it's still the early morning huh?" Xiangling turned her attention to you from the mushrooms she was picking underneath the trees.
"[Name]?"
She looks over to see you on your knees, black substance withering out of your body. Sweat drips down your forehead.
She frantically shakes you, but your vision has gone black.
"[Name]!"
Tumblr media
The blood on Bosacius' arm dripped to the ground creating a thin string trailing only to be diluted by the pouring rain water behind Bosacius and a certain teal haired adeptus. Bosacius gripped his injured arm with his other.
"You need to treat that wound," Xiao said, glaring at his fellow adeptus' wound. He could see the majority of Bosacius bone creeping out of his flesh. A familiar sight.
"Rest assured, I've been in worse state. I just never expect it to hurt as much as it always does," grimaced Bosacius through his smiling expression. The water soaked through his garments and drenched his hair.
"You sound like one of those mortals, trying to fight through their deathly injuries only not to see the next day," replied Xiao looking forward to their destination of Jueyun Karst. He could see the towering peaks getting larger and larger as they move on despite the misty atmosphere.
"We're all too mortal for our liking these days." said Bosacius, his expression unreadable.
The sound of steps softly crushing the blades of grass underneath them and thunder rumbling filled the air while their owners remained silent.
"Have you told Rex Lapis about the constant pain you've been experiencing?" said Xiao, breaking the silence.
Bosacius bit his bottom lip while his working hands, well, what was left of them tensed up. "No, I didn't see the need to bother him. I'm sure he has other pressing matters to attend to now, especially with the incline in aggression from monsters around Liyue Harbor recently. It's strange," The older man looked up to the sky, while Xiao had a distracted look on his face from thinking about the increased monster attacks. "I have yet to figure out the cause behind it."
"I believe Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper are free this evening, I'll ask them for their input on the situation later."
They had arrived at Jueyun Karst, the floating island in the middle of the adepti abode was lit up, symbolizing the availability of Cloud Retainer.
"I'd imagine we don't have the need to place an offering in the middle of the lake huh?" Bosacius winks at Xiao. Xiao looks down at the lake, full of ripple currently from the cloudburst. The empty bowl in the middle overflowed with liquid.
Bosacius gave a forced smile at his correct prediction of their fellow adepti's availability. "Well, I suppose it's best for me to head off and find Indarias to heal my wounds."
"That would be for the best." confirmed Xiao
"Thank you for accompanying me for this trip."
Xiao turned his back and Bosacius was gone
"Hey! Emerald duck!"
Xiao swore he heard the inter layers of hell again as he pinched the bridge of his nose
"Oh archons," he cursed under his breath. Menogias tumbled towards him, no grace or posture in her current childlike state.

@the-wayward-snowflake asked for a Starter
Gold butterflies followed her as she walked along the pathway, her gaze locked on the sky above, almost as though she were in some type of a trance. To anyone looking in her direction, it was obvious to see that she wasn't human, her hair alone looked as though it was made by flames, but it was no doubt the sharp claw like nails that would startle most. Those who crossed her path, quickly left, but she didn't seem to notice. She didn't seem to notice anything that was happening nearby - if any monster attempted to get in her way, the golden butterflies would quickly float in their direction and seemingly tear them apart.
It was only when she came to a lake, when the light entered her eyes once more, a deep sigh given as she sat on the edge of the water, allowing her feet to dangle off the edge and into the water, the golden butterflies fluttering away close by. Maybe she was waiting on someone, or maybe this was her destination - either way, no one seemed to want to risk approaching her.

@icicle-dragon asked:
He'd been following a similar energy to Xiao this morning. The young adeptus didn't pay much attention to where exactly he was going. He figured if his big brother was around here, it'd be okay... Unless it's one of no no explore zones... Then he'd probably get in trouble. But he realized when he saw a figure that didn't resemble Xiao, he knew something was off and he should find a way to slip away undetected. He saw them move and he quickly hid behind the nearest tree. As he peeked his head out from behind, he caught the glimpse of a firey lady.
He continued observing to see if it'd be safe for him to stealth away or possibly approach the stranger.
-for Indarias
Random Asks - Always Welcomed
With a click of her fingers, the figure before her burst into flames, their screams no longer causing her to flinch. Instead, she knelt down and started looking through the remaining ashes, a soft sigh escaping her as she once again came up with nothing. Another loose end taken care of, but not the ring leader - if she didn't pick up her pace, she was sure to be punished.
Such a thought had her scratch at her neck, feeling the cold metal of a collar digging uncomfortably into her skin, the figure pausing though as she suddenly had the sensation that she was being watched - fear blooming within the depths of her heart. Was she already too late? Was that the return of her Master? She thought she still had a few hours....but then again, since when did that Goddess ever play fair?
Flames wrapped around her hand, forming a spear as she stepped back towards the edges of the clearing, trying to sense what was out there. It didn't feel like her Master - but that didn't mean that it couldn't still mean trouble for her. "Who's there?", she called out, voice a little harsher than intended, but her nerves were hanging on by a thread by this point...

@primowishes asked:
"is there anything I can do?" (bonanus to indarias)
COMFORTING WORDS
Oh...oh it really was her, wasn't it? She could hardly hold back the tears that stung at the corner of her eyes, one hand resting against the collar that dug painfully into her throat, as though to remind her of the situation she was in, as though there was ever a chance of her forgetting about such a nightmare...but for now? For now, she couldn't stop herself from throwing her arms around the form of her sister, the tears now freely falling as she tried to prevent herself from clinging too tightly. She really had changed, hadn't she? Much more of an emotional mess than she had been all those years ago - before her first death. Memories burned brightly of those days, memories that she treasured even though she thought she'd never have the chance of meeting any of her siblings ever again - was bonanus reborn too? Oh, but this was too dangerous. If her master were to learn of another of their number being around and enslave them too...Indarias would never be able to forgive herself.
"I...I missed you so...but...", with a sigh, she forced herself to take a small step away, wiping the tears away with one hand, a weak smile forming, despite the words that she was summoning to say, "...there's no way of helping. I'm entrapped by the same monster who hurt our dearest brother so much before he joined our ranks - I truly now understand his fears of the woman...and why Morax tried to destroy her..."

Okays - still need to write up actual profile pages but I’ve added Rubedo, Indarias and Loch to the muse list with the small info about them done. If you don’t want slight spoilers for 2.7 I advice to stay away from the muse page for now. I’ll mark anything with Indarias as spoiler if I write anything with her for like the next two weeks or so >_>
