The spine consists of several individual bones known as vertebrae. These are interconnected together to form the spine. The spinal cord passes through a central canal in these vertebrae. From the spinal cord, the splitting of nerve roots occurs.

These roots travel between the bones of the spinal and different parts of the body. When the nerve root that leaves the spinal cord to other body parts becomes pinched, irritated, or damaged, it results in a medical condition known as radiculopathy. This condition is also known as a pinched nerve.

Types of Radiculopathy

Depending on where the condition happens in the spine, there are three types of radiculopathy. The symptoms of these types may range from mild to severe in individuals.

Cervical radiculopathy

Occurs due to pressure and compression of the nerve roots in the neck.

After resurrecting from the lavaless volcano, Wesker reconnects with Blue Umbrella. In 2009, the Blue Umbrella Defense Force is created, and Albert headlines it as captain. Things are normal, until he finds out that his beloved once-nemesis, Chris Redfield, has gone missing.

Albert finds amnesiac Chris within two weeks. It happens in a bar. He's shocked that the other doesn't remember him. But it's an opportunity.

Wesker is immediately drawn to Redfield, viewing his memory loss as a second chance - the chance to do some good for the man. Al sets up a bank account for him that he refills whenever the man spends it.

He also supports him with food, a place to stay, clothes, and other things he needs, up until two weeks before the BSAA finds Chris. Their relationship becomes close over time, and by the second month they're together, it turns romantic. Al spends so much time around Chris that it becomes a routine for him. They grew strong together, and become a formidable pair.

The fact that the pain between them had melted with Chris's memory loss, Al lets whatever grow between them, and embraces it. He hadn't went into it with romantic intentions; as usual, the spark between them grew into a wildfire.

Albert gives Chris a necklace before he has to go on an extended trip. (This occurs two weeks before the BSAA finds Chris.) It has the logo of Blue Umbrella on it, and it also has the latin phrase for the corporation on the back. This is the same necklace Chris is seen wearing in the opening scene of his campaign, and is also Albert's form of an engagement ring (which he never told Chris).

When Redfield remembers things, he goes quiet and stops communicating with Albert through the phone he had gotten him for around 2 to 3 years. Dejected at having finally shown his truest self, Wesker lets Chris be, gives up on starting something between them, and focuses upon Blue Umbrella, taking the memories he had had of those wonderful months as the happiest he'd be. His happy ending.

In the time between RE6 and RE7, Albert runs missions with Shiloh. He meets Chris again after the "Not a Hero" DLC in Blue Umbrella's Headquarters in Munster, Indiana.

When Redfield works with BU, Wesker doesn't expect anything more to develop between them. He expects it to just be professional. Of course it won't be, and after Albert almost dies, Chris presses him to the wall and kisses him, changing their dynamic forever.
