I am once more thinking of dyspraxia cats
maybe mumblefoot? He’s a pretty nothing background cat who was deputy before sunfall and gave bluestar a life for endurance which is something you need if you’re constantly falling behind and getting hurt by falling or tripping for seemingly no reason. Maybe he was named for struggling to speak clearly and well as a kit but as he got older it was noticeable about how uncoordinated he was to the point it impaired his warrior training, with help from his mentor he was able to get better (though still not perfect ofc) pinestar made him deputy for his wisdom and endurance.
It’s not perfect but having a cat who managed to become a deputy even as someone who would have a disorder that would impact his abilities would make my dyspeptic heart happy
Sounds cute to me! I don't see any reason why not, Mumblefoot could display just how respected Kitchen Patrol heads are. That was probably his specialty and why he became Pinestar’s Deputy.
I do plan to have more main dyspraxic cats though, it'll come when I make more autistic cats. I just keep getting sidetracked lmao

Can you talk about some of the characters in your Thundercrash allegiances? I'm noticing some new cats (unless I'm just being terrible at figuring out who has been renamed). I especially like Mumblerose.... old women ftw
All of them are canon cats- just renamed! Mumblerose was Mumblefoot from Bluestar’s prophecy. In FSA canon, she is like… 96? If you sneeze on her, she will fall over. But she won’t die! She survived an old bear trap, falling off a Cliff, two bouts of lung disease, an eye infection…. No one really knows how she’s still alive.
I also revive a lot of dead kittens because goddamn the itw allegiances were tiny.

Fuzzypelt & Robinfeather. They compete with Lion & Frost for the title of "most normal ThunderClan family"
Robinwing (TC) -> Robinfeather. Jury's still out on Fuzzypelt
Graypaw is the younger littermate of Duskpaw (Dustpaw) & Ravenpaw
Bracken & Cinder are their younger siblings.
Robin & Mousefur are littermates (Robin is older), & their parents are Dappletail & Sunstar. Dapple broke up w/ Storm sometime after Moonflower's death, realizing that a guy who doesn't even mourn for a dead wife is a terrible person actually; she ends up hooking up w/ Sunstar ironically. Robin & Mouse are younger than Whitestorm but older than Redtail. DappleSun has more kits other than Robin & Mouse, but most were stillborn/died young due to fertility issues, and later in life, Dapple would foster kits, including 2 certain deaf white kits...
Fuzzy is the littermate of Tawnyspots & Mumblefoot; together they are the oldest litter of Adderfang & Swiftmouse (Swiftbreeze). Fuzzy is considerably older than Robin, being older than Bluestar & Snowdrop. AdderSwift also have a lot of kits, but the kit mortality rate is somewhat better than DappleSun.
Fuzzy & Robin are both pretty unremarkable. They're just good ThunderClan warriors, and absorb traits & opinions from the environment very heavily. This seeps over to Dusk the most, but it also affects Bracken & Raven. Not Gray or Cinder though. No one knows why they don't take after their family. It's probably the gray fur

New Squirrelwhisker family tree!!
Ok so now what I’ve changed is that Sandstorm + Featherkit and Cricketkit are now the kits of Runningbreeze (Runningwind) and a Rouge/Bloodclan cat Tess (she’s a character in Ravenpaw’s Path), they were both young at the time, it was a very non serious relationship and ended when she got pregnant. Tess asked Runningbreeze to take them back to his clan as Tess didn’t have the means to take care of them, nor did she want kits, and Runningbreeze had a community of cats to raise them, he agreed and before they were born he asked Dapplecloud (Dappletail) to take them.
More Character backstory below
Dapplecloud had wanted kits for a very long time, she was mates with Stormtail for a time when she was a younger warrior but she couldn’t have kits, which was definitely hard on her. At some point she’d broken up with Stormtail realising their relationship was not healthy and tried to focus on spending more time on her family, she absolutely loved her niece and nephew, she and her brother were very close with Mouseburr and Runningbreeze, they were Auntie Dapplecloud and Uncle Thrushpelt and great warriors the two of them looked up to.
So when Runningbreeze came to her asking for her help, Dapplecloud agreed, no warrior would turn down kits in need, especially family. Sometime in the future a part of Dapplecloud would regret this decision.
In the first two months every thing was fine, the kits were little angels, Rodinwing’s litter was taking a liking to the three new little kits and Willowpelt was settling into the nursery. Rosetail, the caretaker of the nursery was going to have her paws full.
But as the months of winter went on, the prey became increasingly more scarce then others, so many cats died that winter. Her brother, Leopardfoot, two of Robinwing’s kits along with her mate and herself… and so many more….
Cricketkit and then Featherkit included… Cricketkit early on and Featherkit so close to being apprenticed, he was born deaf but that never stopped him, he and his family had developed their own language built on clan cats own limited sign language used in patrols and other clan activities. Featherkit was a determined and kind kit. But the harsh winter does not care about the lives of mortals.
The loss affected her deeply… But Sandkit and the rest of the clan continued on.
One of the things that brings Sandstorm and Fireheart together is Cloudkit, in my rewrite Cloudtail and Snowkit are the same character. When Fireheart brings Cloudkit and asks Bluestar to let him stay in the clan, amongst the many voices saying not to let another “weak” kittypet in, Sandstorm surprises Fireheart by advocating for Cloudkit (the little white kit reminds her of her brother) and when Cloudkit is discovered to be hard of hearing Sandstorm and Dapplecloud help Fireheart and Brindleface with different signs and signals.
Cloudtail goes on to help Brightheart when she becomes hard of hearing after the dog attack and their daughter Whitewing, while not hard of hearing is a fantastic sign language teacher and goes on to teach many young cats in Thunderclan and even some cats in other clans the more developed sign language.
Other family tree’s that relate to this one:
SandFire // Mumblefoot

Lazy-bones versus Soft-paws
Tumblr media
A slice of life in ThunderClan a year after the Great Hunger, from the perspective of Speckleflight (Speckletail in canon), who was a kit during the Great Hunger. So much of her formative moons - kithood and apprenticeship were shaped by the Great Hunger and as a young warrior, having just lived through a normal leaf-bare, is beginning to see the clan recover - mostly. Except for a few cats.
In this AU, the ThunderClan family tree has been substantially overhauled. Here, Speckleflight and Tawnyspots are littermates and are the offspring of Mumblefoot and Fawnspots (Doestar’s sister), born shortly before the leafbare known to the clans as the Great Hunger. I always imagined the two of them looking similar and this way, it makes more sense to me, for Goldenflower to name her daughter Tawnykit - after her uncle, who was also Goldenflower’s mentor in this AU.
I’m also still trying to practice with Procreate (specifically with coloring and shading) and find my style. Time spent on the drawing is approximately 2 hours.
TW: Grief
Speckleflight lay stretched out in front of the warrior’s den, enjoying the warm of the newleaf sun on her fur. It’d been so long since she’d felt properly warm and she was so close to feeling bundled up in sunshine. Now, if we could just take Sunningrocks back from RiverClan. She flexed her claws, imagining sinking them into the thick-furred, oily pelt of a RiverClan warrior. She would send their warriors screeching from the gray, flat-topped stones, claiming them for herself - and ThunderClan, of course. Purring, she imagined stretching out on the stones.
“What’s got you so happy this dawn?”
Speckleflight rolled over and blinked happily up at Robinchest. The wiry brown and ginger queen stood over her, scraps of moss still clinging to her pelt. “Just enjoying the sunshine.” Her paws flexed, kneading the air happily. Stop that, Speckletail scolded herself. You’re not a kit anymore.
“It is a nice day,” Robinchest murmured, settling down next to the young warrior. With brusque strokes of her tongue, she began tidying her pelt. “Has Mumblefoot sent out any patrols yet?”
Speckleflight shook her head. “Not that I’ve seen.” Her father was sitting attentively next to Pinestar, listening as the ThunderClan leader spoke to him. “I think he’s letting the clan have a slow start today. The dawn patrol hasn’t come back yet. They’re a little late.”
Robinchest chuckled. “Fuzzypelt bet me some fresh moss that Weedwhisker asks to stop and hunt.”
“Did you take him up on it?” Speckleflight looked sidelong at the queen. She seemed happier, lighter today - like her constant grief was not weighing on her as much.
Robinchest flicked her tail as she shook her head. “No. We’re already on moss-duty today. He’s already getting fresh moss for his nest.”
“Seems a pointless bet,” Speckleflight purred. “Weedwhisker is always hungry. You know you’d lose.”
“Indeed.” A heartbeat later, the queen added, “I can’t wait until we get some apprentices. Then I won’t have to worry about gathering moss or helping the elders with their ticks.” She made a face with the last statement.
“You don’t even like taking care of your own. I’ve seen how you beg Fuzzypelt to get them off you,” Speckleflight teased.
Robinchest swiped at her half-heartedly, cuffing Speckleflight’s ear. “Don’t forget - I raised you.” Just like that, grief settled on the queen, as thick and heavy as the snow during the Great Hunger. There was a far-away look in the queen’s eyes. She was haunted by the ghosts of her lost kits. Her milk and her warmth had not been enough to save them. Speckleflight could hardly remember the three kits - two brown and one black. They’d been born tiny scraps of fur at the start of leafbare, when Speckleflight was just two moons old, and died two moons later, while Speckleflight and the rest of the clan struggled through the gray twilight haze of perpetual cold and hunger.
“I know,” Speckleflight mewed, deliberately keeping her tone light. She missed Fawnspots dearly. Too many of the clan had been lost to starvation. At least I still have Tawnyspots.
As though she’d called for him, Tawnyspots slipped out of the warrior’s den. He glanced at Robinchest and tilted his head to the side, in a question. His green eyes were shadowed with concern. Speckleflight shook her head, rising to her paws to greet him. “How’d you sleep, lazy-bones?”
“Well enough,” he meowed. “I didn’t have to go on the dawn patrol.”
“That’s just as well,” Speckleflight chirped. “They’d hear your sleep-heavy paws coming from tree-lengths away.”
“Oh - you’re one to talk.” A mischievous glint appeared in Tawnyspots’s gaze. “Every cat in the forest knows when you’ve stepped on a bramble, soft-paws.”
“Take that back!” Speckleflight ordered, a growl in her throat.
Tawnyspots danced away, his tail flicking in an invitation for her to come and get him. His ears tipped back and he crouched down. “Make me.”
Speckleflight leaped for him, paws outstretched. The two young warriors collided in a tangle of fur and paws, rolling head over tail as they grappled. “I was having a fine morning until you decided to stick your nose in it,” she puffed.
His hind paws battered at her stomach and he kicked her off, sweeping her forepaws out from underneath her in the same move. She crashed to the ground and he was on top of her, pinning her. “How about you take back your lazy-bones comment?” he meowed, thrusting his muzzle in her face.
Her gaze flickered to Robinchest and so did his. The queen was still looking lost, not paying any attention to their mock-fight. Tawnyspots exhaled slowly. “Sometimes it feels like she’s not ever going to get any better.”
“It will take time,” Speckleflight assured him, playfully kicking at his stomach. “Now, come on. Do you really think you can best me in a fight?”
“Seems I already have. I’m not the one on the ground.”
“Not like this!”
She drew her legs back and kicked his hind legs out from underneath him. Tawnyspots crashed down on her - driving the breath out of both of them. Gripping his shoulders with her paws, claws unsheathed just enough to hold onto his fur, she rolled them over, so that he was underneath her now. He twisted, trying to repeat the same move that had allowed him to pin her initially. She reared back, dodging, before diving down on top of him. He stopped her with a paw pressed against her brow, over paw poised to strike.
“That’s enough!” As quickly as the fight began, it was over. Speckleflight scrambled away from her brother, blinking innocently at Mumblefoot, who had finished his conversation with Pinestar. The dark brown tabby padded across the camp, his yellow eyes narrowed. “You’re warriors now. I expect you to act like one.”
“Sorry,” Speckleflight muttered, hoping her father did not call her out on her insincere tone. Tawnyspots said nothing.
“Now, I was going to have you lead your own patrol today, but-“
At this, Tawnyspots’s ears flicked forward. The young tom squared his shoulders, a quiet “No” escaping him, interrupting Mumblefoot.
“Excuse me?” Mumblefoot grumbled.
“Sorry, sir. I was just surprised that you were considering us for patrol leaders.”
“I was - but it seems that neither of you are mature enough to be leading one.”
“Oh - leave them be. I’ll lead whatever patrol you wanted Speckleflight to be in charge of. And she can come with me.”
Only Seedspeck. The mottled gray she-cat was Mumblefoot’s former apprentice and to Speckleflight, it seemed that nothing could scare the warrior. If I could be like her. She turned to look at the other warrior. Seedspeck’s green gaze was steady as she met Mumblefoot’s yellow one.
“Fine,” Mumblefoot grumbled, but his words were soft. “Take Speckleflight, White-eye, and Sunfall. I’ll leave it up to you to decide where to hunt.” As the deputy turned away, he continued, “because apparently no cat will listen to anything I say.”
“Only those who aren’t afraid of you,” Seedspeck meowed sharply. “You should quit terrorizing your children.”
Mumblefoot flicked his tail contemptuously.
I really want to be like you now, Speckleflight thought, staring at Seedspeck. She tipped her head towards her brother and murmured in his ear, “Will you stay with Robinchest?”
“Of course,” Tawnyspots promised. “I’ll see if I can get her to go hunting. Or for a walk. Just something to get her out of camp.”
“Maybe Goosefeather will have something for her,” Speckleflight meowed.
Tawnyspots shrugged. There was no love lost between him and the strange medicine cat. “I don’t think herbs will help.”
“Herbs won’t,” Seedspeck murmured, joining their conversation. “Just time and weather and new, good memories will help.”
“She’s supposed to go gather moss with Fuzzypelt today,” Speckleflight added, suddenly remembering what the queen had mentioned earlier. “Maybe you could take her, Fuzzypelt, and another cat on a patrol to gather some moss? Sparrowfur or Moonflower?”
“I’ll do that. Just be careful that Mumblefoot doesn’t hear you. He might think you’re wanting his job,” Tawnyspots purred, turning away to slip into the warrior’s den. “I’ll send White-eye and Sunfall out to you.”
“Tell them we’ll be waiting in the ravine,” Seedspeck called, padding away.
With a glance at Robinchest, Speckleflight followed. Her ears and tail drooped as she thought about the sorrowful queen.
“You can’t help her - not any more than you already are.” Seedspeck paused before the bramble barrier, her gaze lingering on Robinchest as well. “Caring for you and Tawnyspots is why she’s still here today. I’m glad you’ve never forgotten about her.”
“She’s like our mom,” Speckleflight explained, ducking through the thorns. “I spent more of my kithood with her than with Fawnspots.”
“I know.” Seedspeck stretched, hooking her claws over the top of one of the many boulders scattered along the ravine. Her back arched and the she-cat purred. “But don’t spend too much time worrying about her. Or dwelling on the… on the last leaf-bare. It’s a nice new-leaf day, and I, for one, want to enjoy the sunshine.”
“Maybe we could hunt by Sunningrocks?” Speckleflight suggested, hoping the older warrior would at least consider her suggestion.
“Sure!” Seedspeck nodded. “This way, we can scout out the best sunning spots before ThunderClan retakes Sunningrocks.”
Surprised, Speckleflight broke into a purr. She wasn’t the only cat dreaming of warmth.

honestly i forgot Yarrow and Birch are related cuz what the he ll
oooo wait thiss is good I may take thisss
my designs for Frost and Brindle look barely alike so i dont really even need to change anything lol

Better Bones ThunderClan Family Tree: Draft 1.1
Tumblr media
[ID: A massive image of the ThunderClan family tree for Better Bones, with every starting ancestor marked with yellow, every joining kittypet marked in pink, and all of the Firekin cats marked in orange.]
You may also want to see:
The RiverClan Family Tree
The SkyClan Family Tree
The Three Strict Rules
The ThunderClan Family Tree Diagnosis, to compare
Several days of research, drafting, and meticulous nitpicking has brought us here. As much of a family tree fix as I can manage alone, including over 200 cats!
There are NO OCs in this graph. Everyone you see here is from Su Susann's Missing Kits, mentioned in a field guide, or directly from forgotten allegiances. A few characters have been renamed, shuffled, or intentionally removed.
1.1 update: Imgur link was replaced with smaller image that Tumblr is able to handle.
Just like RiverClan's, below the cut is Renamings, Removals, and the Changelog.
RENAMINGS: Format: Old Name (Origin) -> New Name (Reason)
Fallowpaw (BOTC) -> Fallowhawk (Repurposed)
Oatwhisker (COTC) -> Oatbell (Conflict)
Beechfur (BOTC) -> Beechfeather (Conflict)
Seedpelt (MV) -> Seedwhisker (Conflict)
Seedpelt (PC) -> Seedfall (Conflict)
Rabbitleap (TC) -> Rabbitbone (Conflict, Honor title)
Rockfall -> White-eye (Honor title)
Pheasantfeather -> One-eye (Honor title)
Mistlekit -> Mistleclaw (Save)
Cricketkit -> Cricketclaw (Save)
Tulipkit -> Tulipflight (Save)
Chestnutkit -> Chestnutface (Save)
Elderkit -> Elderberry (Save)
Sorrelstripe -> Duststripe (Sorreltail does not die in the Great Battle)
Graykit -> Fernkit (Ferncloud confronts Ashfur in the Dark Forest)
Hollyleaf -> Fallenleaf (I don't even know how to summarize this, Go Read This)
REMOVALS: These may be shuffled to another litter at a later time, but for now, are effectively cut or combined with another character.
Lilyheart needs no children and the clan had more than enough cats already. Honeyfur, Leafshade, and Larksong are cut.
Larksong's roles have been absorbed by the composite cat, Hollylark.
On that note, Hollytuft is the other half of the composite.
Brightheart is a frequent surrogate for cats in other Clans; Snowbush, Ambermoon, and Dewnose may show up elsewhere, but NOT in ThunderClan.
Eaglewing is cut.
CHANGELOG: When a group is referred to as "Characterkin," it refers to the common ancestor with that suffix. For example, Firekin refers to cats with Firestar as a common ancestor.
Daisytoe and Flashnose COULD still be siblings without issue but I decided to leave it off for better visibility
Squirrelwhisker and Beetail are probably siblings but Re: better visibility
Icecloud is now born AFTER the Great Battle; they are named after Iceheart, the cat who was Scourge.
Foxleap is now a CloudxBright child
Rockfall becomes the mate of One-eye, and attains an Honor Title; White-eye, for losing an eye to infection.
One-eye's pre-Honor Title name was Pheasantfeather, she also lost an eye to infection.
They both found this VERY amusing.
Halftail is now a child, not One-eye's mate, fixing a very frustrating retcon where One-eye was not the oldest cat in ThunderClan.
Mistlekit becomes a warrior named Mistleclaw, who died in a very serious sickness during Spottedleaf's Plague
Graystripe is now Dappletail's son, and his littermate Featherkit died in Spottedleaf's Plague
Cricketkit becomes a warrior named Cricketclaw, and was the littermate of Darkstripe.
Tulipkit and Chestnutkit were taken from other litters and given to Robinfuzzy, to create an in-between generation for Dustpelt and Raven, as Robinfuzzy would be too old.
Tulipflight and Chestnutface died in, you guessed it, Spottedleaf's Plague.
Though he was ultimately renamed for conflict reasons, Rabbitbone is sporting an Honor Title. He was made the head chef after Mumblefoot became deputy.
Speckletail is the niece of Doestar now, and strongly desired to carry on her legacy.
Oatbell's name refers to the bell-shape of some flowers, such as bluebells, gorse, and oat berries.
Hazeltail does not die of greencough, she is saved by Jayfeather. Mousewhisker is going to leave for RiverClan in ASC (minnowmouse shippers stay winnin'), and Hazel will be taking any noteworthy actions he does in ThunderClan
Fernsong is now an ex-kittypet who joins along with Stormcloud and Jessy. His old name was Fiddles.
Blossomfall's kits were conceived during a stay with The Kin, the father(s) are not known.
Redtail and Spottedleaf are now the children of Rosetail
Redtail and Runningwind are the parents of Sandstorm and Longtail.
Patchpelt is now the father of Willowpelt, adding a generation between Willow and AdderSwift.
The Three Seedpelts
There were THREE Seedpelts to begin with. I decided to split them into 3 characters.
The oldest Seedpelt keeps her name; she was deputy of ThunderClan when SkyClan was exiled, and stepped down in protest. She joined Ripplestar's Rebellion, and was condemned to the Dark Forest when she died.
She has a striking resemblance to her descendants, Ferncloud, Elderberry, and Ashfur.
The next was Seedwhisker. He was the brother of Mapleshade.
He lived the rest of his life in regret at his cowardice, having not spoken up for his sister or nespring, and became a supporter of the Queen's Rights in spite of Oakstar's opposition to them.
His new name comes from an accidental misprint, he was called Seedwhisker once in canon.
The last was Seedfall, who could have plausibly been Seedwhisker in the timeline, but I decided that Adderfang could use a sibling.
Firekin is now HARD defined
It means that you are directly descended from Firestar and Sandstorm. (Who were btw in a QPR)
Cloudtail is not counted in this category because Fireheart botched the claiming of the Queen's Rights when bringing him to ThunderClan, admitting he was his nephew and voiding his right.
Firekin only tracks through direct descendants as a result.
Squirrelflight is infertile and will always be. All Firekin can trace their way through The Three, and ergo Leafpool.
Ivypool and Dovewing are technically the bio-offspring of Poppyfrost and Jayfeather, but this is not widely known, and they are raised by Cinderheart and Lionblaze.
Sparkpelt and Alderheart are no longer Firekin. Nightheart and Finchlight are Firekin through their other parent, Hollylark.
Hollylark was conceived through supernatural methods (and by accident).
Flywhisker and Snaptooth were foundlings adopted by Toadstep and Lionblaze; but they are leaving the Clans in a similar way to Canon.
The Tigerkin Family
Goldenflower's only mate was Tigerclaw, unlike canon where she was with Patchpelt to have Swiftpaw and Lynxkit.
Brambleclaw becomes Bramblestar just after BB!Po3, and Squirrelflight doesn't get back with him after the secret is revealed
His kits are from Jessy, who was temporarily named Sweetbright.
She cat-divorced him shortly after their kits were born, taking Alder with her. The human named him Louie; Bramblestar changed it back when he returned
Both of them have a very complicated relationship to their father.
The Dustfern Fixes, Fernkin Broadly
Elderberry was saved to fix an age gap; Ferncloud is closer in age to Dustpelt, and Ashfur is from a litter born just before Brindleface's murder. Elder was the sibling who was part of the Dog Relay Race.
Dustpelt was also not a mentor yet, as he was too young. Instead, he was undergoing a secondary apprenticeship under One-eye for construction work.
Cloudtail was Elder's and Fern's best friend growing up, but NOT an adopted brother. This is to avoid Whitewing x Birchfall being adoptive first cousins.
Because Brackenfur dies in BB!Po3 and wasn't alive to sire them, Seedpaw and Lilyheart have been swapped over to Dustfern.
Dustpelt died saving them in the Great Battle, reinforcing a den wall against invaders.
Spiderleg and his children are not dying unceremoniously as Greencough Fodder and a TBC kill. All three are alive to the current arc.
Lilypaw watching her sister die to save her was formative. She has no interest in romance, but is much more caring and nurturing than her grumpy face suggests.
Because Whitewing and Birchfall no longer have Dovewing and Ivypool, they get Spotfur and Duststripe instead!
Because Sorreltail didn't die in the battle, Duststripe is named after her grandfather instead.
For a similar reason, Spotfur's child Graykit is now named after their great-grandmother instead. Graystripe lives out the rest of his days in the mountains; Ferncloud must confront her brother.
