i wanna introduce you guys to my plants,,, so
My Plants!!! [in pot height order, ignore the shotty editing]
Mr. Silly Goofy
this is Mr. Silly Goofy. He's the original, he started out as a small lil offshoot of another succulent, and now he's his own lil guy! [I refer to Mr. Silly Goofy using He/Him pronouns.]
He's been a bit busy producing a new leaf. I think he may be a Kalanchoe Dwarf Hybrid, since afaik he's similar to some Kalanchoe succulents, but he has his own distinct features.
The lil pink cup you see in the background is his old pot. I actually recently repotted him! Also, he has a lil bead. It wasn't in his original pot, but when I repotted my narcissus, one of the beads fell into the potting mix.
he also used to have a name tag! I mean, he still has it, but since the pink cup will be repurposed, i figured I might as well tape the ol' nametag to the bottom of his lil well-plate.
Jimmy Carter Hughes-Neutron
The Aloe Vera! His name is Jimmy "Jimney" Carter Hughes-Neutron. [naming like this will continue with my other plants.]
Amusingly, the Jimmy Carter name came from a friend BEFORE he died, so it's mostly unrelated to his death. I bought him for $5 from a plant sale. He's the only one I haven't repotted! [Also use He/him for 'em.]
The lil Q-Tip is because the day I bought him, I was hanging out with a friend, and we were doing art together. There were some q-tips lying in the open, and I was like: "...Lil sword."
So I grabbed the Q-tip and stuck it in his pot. It used to be at the edge of the pot, but I actually moved it inwards today to act as a sort-of stake, since the guy was leaning pretty severely [he was at a 45° angle, literally.]
He also has a new little sprout! [lil yellow thing.]
Narcissus :]
THE NARCISSUS!!! I've had him for such a long while and I've yet to give him a name! Quite a shame, honestly. I think he rather quite likes this pot! He has a few beads with him too from his old one so he didn't completely ditch his roots! :]
If you guys have any name suggestions, let me know! [I use he/him for the guy :3]
Drogas Queso Lacey Nerve-Plant
Last but [Certainly] not least, Mr. Drogas Queso Lacey Nerve-Plant!!!! Yes, he has like 2 first names that are in spanish [Drugs and Cheese], but who cares!!!! [If you've noticed, all my plants use he/him.]
This is actually him before & after I pruned him. Unfortunately, I forgot to water him for a bit, and he... well, you can see how much I trimmed.
He was actually the second plant I got! First was Mr. Silly Goofy! I got this lil guy at a local fair I performed at! [I also saw some live axolotls there, which was nice :3]
I'm hoping he'll bounce back, he's still a bit green at the bottom so he's not completely gone!
Anyways, despite my tactile botanophobia, I am taking care of them! They are thriving! [Well, except Drogas, but.... I'm trying.]
I keep 'em all near the window in my kitchen, which is curtained, but it faces roughly the south, so the sun rises there, and there's a decent amount of light that comes in during the day!
I also keep any animals away from them. I learned the hard way when my stepmom's dog, Stryder, knocked over Mr. Silly Goofy within like a week of having him [Mr. Silly Goofy]. Was not a good time, but he's doing alright now!

What are your thoughts on the p̶o̶o̶k̶i̶e̶s̶ robots from the Electric State trailer?
I’ll do you better, my thoughts on every robot seen in the trailer :D
Herman, voiced by Anthony Mackie: interesting advanced design, most step away from Simon’s design philosophy if it weren’t for the cartoon hands he has, yet to understand how he can shift sizes though, like to see that explained
Cosmo, voiced by Alan Tudyk: The best character design ever, the most faithful adaptation of Simon’s art. Not excited that he’s going to be speaking, but interested on whatever advertisement dialogue he has pre-programmed
Giant cat robot: a unique robot, only seen in the art of the recent ttrpg. It’s still fitting to the world with how many huge robots exist as disfunctioning corpses and how many exist as mash up abominations. Overall, I like it and think it’s cool
Mr. Peanut, voiced by Woody Harrelson doing a Jimmy Carter impression: absolutely the most goofiest addition in the movie. I don’t think they are going to do much with him because he’s a mascot to a real corporation, but I heard rumors he’s going to be a bad guy, so I hope that happens (can’t wait to see the nut-mobile in action)
Popfly, voiced by Brian Cox: I like how time appropriate his design is. I can absolutely see a robot baseball mascot in the 90s having that sort of design (I wonder if he swears in the movie). Yet he doesn’t seem like a mechanically advance robot, due to seemingly move via wheels
Penny Pal, voiced by Jenny Slate: adorable design, yet again, love that it feels time appropriate. Still, she seems to move around on wheels, but at least she has two arms (whereas Popfly looks like he has one arm)
nuerocaster soldiers: Usually human like robots are automatically boring to me, but I like how they share a similar head shape to the nuerocaster devices the humans use, adds some relevant connection to their function and what the nuerocaster were originally used for. I also like how they fly around with a silly propellers on their backs.
Those weird cigarette-shaped robots at the end: They silly
Overall, pretty decent translation to film

this is a poll for a movie that doesn't exist.
It is vintage times. The powers that be have decided to again remake the classic vampire novel Dracula for the screen. in an amazing show of inter-studio solidarity, Hollywood’s most elite hotties are up for the starring roles. the producers know whoever they cast will greatly impact the genre, quality, and tone of the finished film, so they are turning to their wisest voices for guidance.
you are the new casting director for this star-studded epic. choose your players wisely.
Previously cast:
Jonathan Harker—Jimmy Stewart
The Old Woman—Martita Hunt
Count Dracula—Gloria Holden
Mina Murray—Setsuko Hara
Lucy Westenra—Judy Garland
The Three Voluptuous Women—Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, and Lauren Bacall
The Agonized Mother—Mary Philbin
Dr. Jack Seward—Vincent Price
Quincey P. Morris—Toshiro Mifune
Arthur Holmwood—Sidney Poitier
R.M. Renfield—Conrad Veidt
The Captain of the Demeter—Omar Sharif
The First Mate of the Demeter—Leonard Nimoy
Mr. Swales—Ed Wynn
The Correspondent for The Daily Graph—Ethel Waters
Dracula in dog form—Frank Oz with a puppet
Sister Agatha—Angela Lansbury
Mrs. Westenra—Gladys Cooper
The solicitors are not described, but the very dull communication between Messrs. Carter, Paterson & Co. to Messrs. Billington & Son can be found here.
#dracula daily#dracula casting#for anyone wondering where any particular duo is. i'm saving some for later double acts we come across!#hotvintagepoll#silly times#minis

I was born in 1979, so I am a Carter baby. You know me, you know I have spent my life thrilled to report that I was not a Reagan baby, but the truth is Jimmy Carter was one of the true greats, a truly decent person, thoughtful, charitable, generous of heart and soul and spirit.
America REALLY fucked up giving this country from Carter to Reagan.
Rest easy, Mr. President. I hope you and Rosalynn are happy to be holding each other again.

President Carter, may you have fair winds and following seas
Steve Schmidt
President Carter was one of the six presidents who was born in the first 25 years of the 20th century.
Those six presidents led America between 1960 and 1992, before the first baby boomer was elected.
During this speech President Carter talked about the trauma faced by that generation specifically, and the country in general. He talked about the loss of faith, trust and belief in the future that was taking hold and was being driven by many factors. He painted a picture of the road that would lead to Donald Trump 37 years later.
Jimmy Carter reached out to the American people, and spoke a truth that hurt him politically, but this speech was among the most profound an American president has ever given about the American spirit.
He diagnosed a growing lassitude that was driven by consumerism and emptiness. His entire life was a living devotional towards resisting the temptations of a meaningless life for a principled one. He never cashed in, and never changed anything in which he believed. His convictions were backed by deeds. His wisdom should be better known.
There has never been an American president that lived as long as Jimmy Carter, and no American citizen lived longer as a former president than Jimmy Carter. His life has ended, and all of the politics and recriminations, judgements, actions and decisions of a life that has endured for almost 100 years are gone now.
What is left is the full record of an American icon, global statesman, Navy submariner, Sunday school teacher and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. He was married to his wife Rosalynn for 77 years.
Every person who knows him says the same thing. They all say that the Jimmy Carter who became the most powerful man in the world came home as the same Jimmy Carter who left. He led a life of service and integrity.
He was a peacemaker who loved his country, and served it long and well. He was the last surviving member of the generation that fought and won the Second World War, and kept the peace in the dangerous hours of the Cold War.
Wherever there was suffering and injustice in the world the oppressed peoples knew of Jimmy Carter and what he stood for because he stood for them. He stood for the American idea and ideal all through his noble life.
The American people should take a moment and say a prayer of gratitude for Jimmy Carter. Whatever ails America, it still produces people like Jimmy Carter.
Godspeed, Mr. President, on your last journey.
May you have fair winds and following seas.
Thank you for all of your service to America and to all of humanity.
[Steve Schmidt]
