One fine morning, as usual, Optimus comes and tries to wake you up - the lazy girl who always sneaks up on her phone all night and wakes up early in the morning to do what he says: Enjoy a morning to the fullest. nice.

And you, looking sleepy, scowling and refusing all the coaxing of the lovely Prime. Unfortunately, "obstinacy" is always in the dictionary of Mr. Opty, no, rather, of the entire Cybertron people because no one has time to fight since the ancestors of mankind still swam in the sea for Millions of years later, their grandchildren have evolved and developed to a new level: invented fan dance and resolved by cursing each other via live stream, but the two sides are still fighting across the universe.

"Come on Optimus, it's only five minutes," you plead, turning your puppy eyes to Prime.

"No"- Optimus firmly shook his head, "You said so 30 minutes ago, you really have to get up!"

You roll your eyes, suddenly having a genius idea. And it will surely get you through this morning...

"Optimus, you know what ? I have the ability to touch the sky !"

"Hmm ?" Optimus frowned slightly, trying to digest your weird joke. Suppressing a laugh, you wave your hand so that Optimus bends down very close to you.

Lightning-fast, you kiss Prime's ice-cold metal face lightly, while raising your arms to hug them (too big for a small human like you, of course).

And you swear for a moment you saw the amazingly venerable Optimus with his eyes wide open. But that expression quickly disappeared, replaced by the usual calmness. You're a little disappointed that Optimus doesn't react as strongly as you think, but quickly accept it because with people whose age is sometimes close to the planet you live on, these types of emotions may have disappeared. it's been a long time.

Sighing, the blue and red bot glances at you and gently pats your head and says, "Only 5 more minutes."

"Great" You giggled, blowing a kiss in Prime's direction and saying, "Have a nice day, love you so much my sparkling blue sky."

MIXES, you could hear them from a mile away, they likes to hear what everyone has to say, but is a bit shy, as they don't know if they are being rude.

Melody (a.k.a. "Mel") is creative but tired and honestly just wants to never bother with anything anymore, and its definitely showing in the way she talks, acts, and thinks, but if she wants to, she can be really strong.

Eén van de opties tijdens mijn bezoek aan Parijs was een bezoek aan het Musée Marmotan Monet. Het museum bezit een fraaie collectie Monets, waaronder de nodige waterlelies en het werk waaraan de impressionisten hun naam danken: Impression Soleil Levant. Daarnaast hebben ze ook een aardige collectie werken van Gustave Caillebotte en Berthe Morisot. Uiteindelijk paste het bezoek niet in mijn schema en nu ik hier in de Dulwich Picture Gallery rondloop, denk ik dat dat maar goed was ook. Ongetwijfeld zal de verzameling Monets op orde zijn geweest en de Caillebottes zullen ook wel aan de muur hebben gehangen, maar veel Morisots kunnen er in het Parijse museum niet meer hangen. Een groot deel, waaronder prachtige werken, hangt namelijk hier in Zuid-Londen op de tentoonstelling Berthe Morisot – Shaping impressionism.

Het allereerste doek bijvoorbeeld hangt gewoonlijk in het Marmotan Monet. Het laat gelijk zien waarom ik Berthe Morisot de meest radicale impressionist vind. Het is een zelfportret en de verfstreken zijn even zelfverzekerd als haar blik. Links onderin worden palet en penseel weergegeven in een paar woeste strepen. Ook het werk ernaast, In the Bois de Boulogne. dat ze samen met een ander werk op één dag schilderde, vertoont de zelfde zelfverzekerdheid. Criticus Chrales Ephrussi merkte op dat Morisot werkte met “een palet van geplette rozenblaadjes”. Hij schreef: “Deze plezierige levendigheid, sprankelend en frivool, doet denken aan Fragonard.” Het is niet de laatste keer op deze tentoonstelling dat Morisot met Fragonard wordt vergeleken. Die vergelijking wordt begrijpelijk als we Morisots Girl on a Divan vergelijken met Fragonards Young Woman. Beide schilderijen in snelle, gewaagde verfstreken.

Morisot bewonderde een aantal Engelse schilders, zoals George Romney. Als je zijn Mrs. Mary Robinson naast Morisots Winter ziet hangen zie je onmiddellijk dat Romney’s werk hier als voorbeeld heeft gediend. De positie van het hoofd, de blik, de mond en de mof komen te zeer overeen om toeval te kunnen zijn,

In de laatste zaal hangt een aantal zeer fraaie doeken: een portret van Berthe’s twintigjarige nichtje Paule Gobillard achter een schildersezel en Children with a Basin. Beide werken zijn te leen van het Marmotan Monet.

When and what was your first exposure to Elvis Presley?

Honestly can't remember but it would have been sometime when I was a little kid. I love music and my tastes cover multiple decades and genres. My mom introduced me to music at a very young age. I jokingly say that while other kids were watching Sesame Street I was watching music videos and listening to records. But my love of music originally comes from my mom introducing me to rock music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. So Elvis was mixed in there with all the other artists she loved.

And what was your first impression?

I loved how powerful his voice was, I remember being very impressed with his vocals.

Lace shirts or jumpsuits?

Oh man, I mean, I like both, but I really love those jumpsuits!

Oh, it's hard to pick a favorite because there were so many things that were just phenomenal about the movie. It was amazingly well done. But if I *had* to pick a favorite, I would say scene by the elevator in the parking garage. That scene absolutely ripped my heart out and stomped on it but that's because it was so well directed and acted. I honestly think that's the clip they should show at the Oscars for Austin's nomination. Because if he's not nominated I will fight someone.

What are your odds for besting this man at karate?

Well, I am an athlete, I'm a runner and I box/kickbox and do functional strength training so I might have a chance to at least hold my own for a decent amount of time. He obviously is taller/heavier than I am, but size isn't the only important thing in a fight. Speed and ability to dodge and slip are also important factors. So I'm going to go with I'd be able to put up a good fight but he'd probably end up kicking my butt in the end.

If you could meet Elvis and have enough composure to tell him something, what would it be?

I'd tell him that he had such a lasting impression on music and pop culture in general and that he is so loved even all these decades after his death and will continue to be loved going forward. Basically I'd tell him that he will never, ever be forgotten.

Pffffft, good lord no. He was one of a kind, accept no substitutes.

How did you react at the end of the movie when In the Ghetto started to play A. I got up and fixed a snack because I have no soul, B. I left feeling alarmingly horny, C. I was impressed but didn’t realize how affected I was until days later when it was still with me D. I cried buckets they had to bring in a mop E. I may have appeared emotionless but in fact my soul was leaving my body and I don’t think it’s returned quite yet

Ah, I think it was E, because I remember my first thoughts being "Ok this movie was honestly way better than I thought it was going to be. I'm impressed, well done Baz." And then as I processed what I had just watched it started to hit me how amazing of a movie it was and I got emotional at that point. I had a D reaction during the second viewing.

And we won't talk about how many times I've watched it total. I finally had to buy myself a copy because HBOMax was going to get tired of my ass and eventually and cut me off. And I don't want to get cut off, I need HBOMax for other things.

Roadmap after Amphibia

so since a surprisngly large amount of people have come to follow me for my Amphibia posts, i feel i should give some explanation for how im going to go forward now that the show is ending.

Namely, im obviously cover the finale, and talk about things i notice in it as i usually do, and make character analysis about them, but since there obviously won’t be more content coming, and speculation and predictions will not be a relevant thing anymore next week, there will be a limited amount of stuff i can make about it once the show is done.

Also, despite what it’s become, this is not really an amphibia blog. just a tumblr where i post about stuff i find interesting, character analysis and the like. Honestly im very surprised that so many people actually like my amphibia content. but alas, all good things must come to an end.

that said, i do have some larger posts planned that i’ve been planning to do for a while now, before i mostly stop making huge amphibia posts, so if you like my takes, stay tuned for them in no particular order.

An overview of EVERY single instance of the girls being superhuman, from “Anne or beast” to “the Hardest Thing”. There’s a lot of those.

An analysis and speculation about Sasha’s relationship with her parents, and how they both destroyed her ability to love others in a healthy way for years. Might be influenced by the finale, depending on wheter we get to see Mr and Mrs Waybright before the show ends.

“The Weak Link”, where i go over and break down Sasha and Marcy’s relationship from Sasha’s point of view and speculate on why Sasha came to view Marcy as the distinct second most important person in her life compared to the single most important person in her life; Anne(as opposed to both Sasha and Anne who regards the other two as equally important in their eyes). Probably gonna be the most contentious Take i have on the series.

A big post finale analysis where i compare the show in length(Plot, story structure, and of course characters) to the 3 best western cartoons from after 2000, Avatar the last airbender, Ducktales, and Gravity Falls, and give my take on where i find it overall in terms of quality by comparison.

Also, not a post about Amphibia itself, but i am going to start writing on one of two Amphibia AU’s stories i’ve had floating around.

Option 1, is set in a world wher Aldrich has an “unfortunate” accident right before the original trio goes to the box storage room, thus derailing the entire original backstory. The box is still lost, but at a much later point in time, after andrias has conquered and subjugated Earth, along with several other worlds, and since Andrias in this story has little interest in exterminating life on the planets he conquers, the various races of those worlds are incorporated into the empire, and many brought home to amphibia.

the story is set long, long after the empire fell, and the humans stuck on the planet have long since been forced to integrate into this world and have a currently uneasy, but relatively stable relations with their fellow amphibians.

If i go with this story, it will be more of a political tale, as the feudal structure of this society, and how it’s affected each of the girls backgrounds in this story will be front and center, along with the regular wacky amphibia stuff.

Anne, the daughter of a couple of chefs from Newtopia, finding herself stranded in the most remote province the empire has, Sasha, the daughter of a noble family of Dukes, forced to make her own way because she’s the second child, and as such has no inheritence to speak of despite her martial skills, and Marcy, a huge nerd for all things occult and magical, who’s actions set into motions the three girls being forced to leave Newtopia.

And as in canon, the three childhood friends eventually come into contact with a certain box, which will affect both their world, and Earth down the line....

gonna be incorporating a lot of the beta designs for the girls if i go with this one.

Option 2, basically just the regular girls being swapped around, though the story actually diverged a bit before the girls were sent to amphibia.

Sasha is the MC, who is sent to the Plantars, Where she quickly begins making friends, but also sees her relationships blow up spectacularily as they tend to do, and her having to grow from that.

Marcy is sent to Toad Tower, where after a rough start begins to flat out isekai this setting, using her massive intellect, her knowledge of chemistry to make gunpowder, introducing a lot of more modern stuff to Grime’s army, be it tech, tactics, or just way of thinking. Ultimately ends up being convinced the King is evil for creating the current system, and conspires with Grime to topple the tyrant as any good Isekai protagonist would have.

Anne ends up in Newtopia and that is all i have to say about it.

Basically a retelling of the series, just with some major changes that completely changes a lot of dynamics.

King of the hill review s1e1 "Pilot"

(I'm gonna start watching koth and typing these out season by season, depending on my work schedule/metnal healt will depend on how often I put them out, with the occasional single episode ones like this one which I've already typed up so much for. A lot of people seemed to like just the Meer idea of this so im gonna finish this one and post it)

We're introduced to the main characters surrounding a truck with the hood up. The first lines of dialogue they have in the series is their iconique "yep" "yep" "yep" "mhm" followed by a short silence (aside from the alcohol consumption).

Bill is the one to break the silence and demonstrates his understanding of automobile engines.

He is followed by Dale who demonstrates himself as an idiot. "Ford stands for: Fix It Again Tony."

Boomhauer, who without subtitles i wouldn't have been able to understand, also demonstrates he understands automobiles.

Hank who does not have the courtesy of subtitles does not understand what Boomhauer says and brushes him off and instead dribbles on about George Bush in Japan? This establishes his conservativeness/dumbness (if there's that much of a difference between the two.)

Hank grabs more beer and Dale breaks off into asking about a new episode of Seinfeld dating the beginning of the show.

Boomhauer immediately starts squaking about it.

This episode of Koth aired January 12 1997, although it doesn't seem to take place in a winter month. Most likely a spring one. I want to say the episode that Boomhauer is talking about is The Wig Master (April 4, 1996) as it is an episode that features Kramer and Kramer is the subject of Boomhauers tangent.

Boomhauer ends his giggling with "Just a show about nothin." And the theme song begins to play. A good introduction into what King of the Hill is about, and so far a great way to start the show off.

Theme song ends and Hank enters Bobby's room, despite Bobby telling him he wouldn't like it Hank decides to listen to Bobby's music to find: he doesn't like it. Admittedly because it isn't music (which Hank claims to like new generation music) but because instead it's just a fart? Bobby for some reason just listens to farts.... I guess this does establish that the boy ain't right....

Hank leaves Bobby's room telling him to get ready for the game, which Bobby is clearly already dressed for?

Luanne shows she hasn't learned how to lock the bathroom door when Hank busts in to a fully toweled Luanne. He still avoids looking at her the entire time after the initial door opening. Luanne gives slight exposition by explaining her parents are currently fighting, giving her a reason to be in the Hill House.

Hank, Bobby, and Peggy pile into a car and head to the game. Peggy tells Bobby to do his best and Hank insists he should give it 110% instead of 100%. They then keep suggest 1% higher until Peggy says 13 is an unlucky number. The driving scene ends with Hank miffed saying "just give it 112%."

At the game Bobby shows his inability to play baseball and Hank shows how overzealous he is about getting Bobby to play. Bobby gets hit with a ball when he's not paying attention giving set up for future events within the episode.

Hank Hill stops at the Mega Lo Mart for WD-40. Its not that important that I mention the WD-40. I just like the way he says Dubya Dee Fordy.

Two gossips see Hank interact with Buckley (who doesn't seem to recognize Hank, let alone where he even is in the store) along with Bobby who has a black eye following close behind him.

As Hank gets more and more frustrated with Buckley, Bobby begins swinging a cardboard tube around like a baseball bat. The gossips see Hank with his temper and wonder if he gave Bobby the black eye (theyre voiced by Nancy and Peggy without changing the voices even a little bit). Bobby swings the bat a little too close to some cans and knocks them over prompting Hank to scream YOU'RE FIRED (???? who gave Hank the authority???) at Buckley when he tells Hank that he'll have to pay for the damages.

The two gossips' words spread around and eventually get to the erroneously named Arlen County Child Protective Services (I suppose Heimlich County hasn't been established yet). And we're introduced to Anthony Page whos proportions make him look like he's in the wrong cartoon.

We cut back to hank and friends and Dale goes on his rant about Glo-Bal warming. He says we'll grow oranges in Alaska. Hank calls him a giblet head and tells Dale he'll hold him personally responsible if Texas gets any hotter in the summer. His anger is further pushed by a thumping noise.

Which we see is Bobby playing ball in the house while watching TV. He accidentally smacks his mother in the face with it when she pauses to lament about a man on TV who had botched surgery.

Bobby is once again throwing the ball in the house, enter the social worker, and Hank fixing his truck. The sound distracts Dale from pointing the flashlight correctly which then causes Hank to screw up and the hood of his car to fall on him and Dale runs off instead.

"Hank is as gentle as a lamb," says Peggy followed by Hank barging in, grabbing the baseball and throwing it screaming, "STOP BOUNCING THAT BALL!" Note: the ball zoomed past Mr. Page and into the street making a glass shattering noise. What glass he could have shattered at that angle I'm not quite sure of.

After Tony insinuates the bruise on Peggy's head was caused by the same ball they told him hit Bobby in the eye, he asks if Bobby is their only child. Peggy manages to tell this random dude about Hank's narrow urethra and Hank gets loud.

Our Italian alien looking friend tells Hank "Loud is not Allowed." This sets Hank off on a rant about how he works for a living as opposed to writing down nonsense. This is the first mention of Hank's job selling Propane and Propane Accessories.

Hank's face turns visibly red as talks about his tax dollars going to fund... CPS? I understand that twig boy is very much not doing any actual investigation and is completely biased but... come on now Hank? Chuld protective services?? Anyways Hank asks for some B.C. Headache Powder and a glass of water. He then proceeds to yell at Anthony again and threatens him to get out before he gives HIM a black eye. Not the best choice of words there Hank. Also both of these rants are set to the National Anthem for some reason.

Our self proclaimed hero of this story then goes on to interview neighbors about Hank. Starting with Dale who is interrupted by Nancy leaving to get a headache treatment from John Redcorn. "You've been going to that healer for 12 years and you still get headaches every night." Imagine getting dicked down roughly 4380 days in a row.

After Nancy leaves it goes back to our city slicker asking if Hank has ever hit his child which Dale explains that Bobby is his pride and joy because of his Narrow Urethra. Very interesting world where Dale knows Hank has a narrow urethra but not that his own wife is cheating on him. Joseph is introduced and the paper white boy does a double take as he's the spitting image of John Redcorn.

Boomhauer has mistaken the defunct social worker as??? Someone whos there to do something about a barking dog? Once again if not for the subtitles I'd be lost on what he's saying but what the hell is he talking about. Our pencil pusher backs away slowly.

Bobby and Joseph are trying to get pebbles into the exhaust of the truck in the next scene, impressively they make a few shots. Joseph asks to reassure that Hank does not in fact hit him and Bobby confirms that Hank is all Bark and proceeds to mock the propane salesman. Joseph proceeds to try and while he's making fake threats in Hank's voice our Valiant Savior overhears and somehow mistakes his voice to actually be Hank's....

Cut to the actual Hank and he's found Luanne's panties. They're very cute pink ones. Peggy calls Luanne in to Hank's protests and she comes in crying and expositions about her mother attempting to stab her father with a fork then being sent to jail. She says her trailer was tipped over but does not elaborate as to how. Although she does say it will be on a TV show! Kind of wish theyd make an episode out of that alone.

Hank assures Luanne as best he can and lets her know she can stay with them until her mom comes home. Hank offers to let her use power tools to style a wig that was also damaged in the process of the trailer being flipped over. This immediately calms Ms. Platter.

A doorbell is heard and the Hills (minus Luanne) answer the door to find Our Holy King making his return to try to get our Poor Abused Child to come outside and go live with a family in North Arlen (not even gonna try to find somewhere in a different town??) Hank tries to offer him Luanne instead. The social worker makes an effort to try to get Bobby to come with him but Bobby clearly doesn't care or want to go. Hank chases him away and even hits his car, Ladybird making her first appearance running with him and barking at Anthony.

Mr. Page is confronted by his boss about not having found any actual abuse but recommending state custody. He called the entire neighborhood redneck city to a man with a strong country accent, bruh. The boss asks him if he talked to the little league coach, WHICH THE BOSS KNOWS BY NAME (Harvey) and our Los Angeles boy is sweatin fierce.

Cut back to Hank and Peggy with their ears covered they come outside to BOBBY WITH A STOP SIGN HE CUT DOWN USING A DRILL THAT HE'S HITTING WITH A HAMMER??? How did he get a Fucking Stop Sign??? Hank immediately yells at Bobby about this and Bobby calmly states back that Hank can't yell at him or the state will take him away. This frustrates Hank but he does his best not to outburst again after Bobby picks up the stop sign and runs away dragging it behind him.

Once inside the house Bobby answers a call from CPS, they inform him the case has been dropped and our boy from L.A. will be heading back home. He chooses not to tell his parents instead opting to tell them it was a wrong number. After this scene the stop sign is never seen again 😔.

Hank apparently makes bacon and mayo sandwiches. Hold the bacon grease. No wait he adds the bacon grease back. Luanne comes into the kitchen and demonstrates that she knows more about cars than any of the guys as she has fixed his truck's problem: a clogged fuel line.

We cut to Hank outside the garage asking Bobby to plug in a power tool in the garage, Robert (with Joseph in tow) agrees and does so but also grabs the opener and starts opening and closing the door on his father. Hank begins to yell again and Bobby reminds him that it isn't proper adult-child conversation. Hank settles down a bit and through gritted teeth asks Bobby to return it to factory setting of down and walks away. Joseph is very pleased by this.

We then see a montage of similar things happening in succession. Bobby knocking a fence down with a bat, dressing ladybird up and taking pics of her on his mower, and finally spraying Hank with a hose. As he does this the Anthony's ex boss comes over and knocks on the door.

We cut over to Bobby in his bed making sound effects. He is informed by Peggy that the man came over and told them the investigation was off. Bobby says he likes his father better this way he can "make him love me even when I screw up" and Peggy asks if he really thinks that.

Peggy is shown going into the bedroom (not really sure if this is their bedroom... there is a picture of cotton on the wall [pre shin loss] and it doesn't look like their bedroom in future episodes) and she insists Hank vocally tell Bobby that he loves him. Hank explains that he can't do that "you know how I was raised" followed by a flashback of a young Hank and a shinless Cotton telling Hank not to cry about his knee scrape.

Hank heads out to the porch to talk to Bobby who is sitting on lawn furniture. And Hank stumbles over words trying to explain to Bobby that he cares for him. Bobby doesn't understand and Hank makes some weird voice cracking sound. "You.... family." Hank then, after little bit more stumbling, manages to blurt out "ILoveYouNoMatterWhatYouDo." And then offers food.

Bobby asks if he's not a disappointment and Hank assures him that he's proud of him and cares for him. He then play fights with Bobby and the city boy sees it and proclaims he was right but is cut off by another passenger and says "never mind." And the episode fades to black. Cue theme song.

The quoted line at the end of the episode is blank. This episode predates that tradition apparently.

Okay so now for some more of my own thoughts

I joked around a lot but I do see where the social worker is coming from on some level. He believed he was investigating a case of abuse. He just wasn't very smart about it. He really should have talked to the coach immediately after hearing about the baseball incident. Or literally anyone that could have been at the game that day. That's all it would have taken and he would have still have had a job. But it's a good thing he doesn't anymore because his own negligence could have separated a family.

I won't claim they're the most functional family. But if the most Hank does (up until this point, not gonna count that awful smoking ep just yet) is simply yell at Bobby then they're a much better family than I had growing up. Does Hank need to work on his anger issues? From this episode alone I'd say a solid Yes. He was a dick to a store employee which is very much not a cool thing to do. There was some justification in being angry at Bobby, I mean the kid tortured him at the end there, but he should have sought a better release than the one he had.

Overall I'd say this is a really good episode to start the series on, it's entertaining and funny and properly builds up the world.

Chapter 11: Decisions

Story Description: A girl named Rose is the kindest girl around. However, once she gets cursed, she is forced to die and live over and over again, always facing a fate that was cruel. She fell in love with a god and he fell in love with her. Will he be able to end the curse? Will he be able to ever save her from her fate? Or will their love be cursed forever?

Once he turned around, she couldn’t hold back. She ran after him and chased him down the hallway. It might not be Lucas, but she needed to see him. She needed to hear him talk to her again. Even if it was insults, she didn’t care. She just always wondered if he was even alive, so she had to find out if he was.

Melody and Apollo called out to her and ran after her, but she didn’t stop. She continued to run down this hallway, calling after the man.

They eventually reached to a garden outside. The man stopped and turned around and held out a dagger towards Rose. Rose stopped about 15 feet away from him and held out her hands in front of her, showing him she meant no harm.

“Woah, woah. I don’t mean any harm, Lucas.”

Once she stared at him long enough, her hopes were confirmed. It was Lucas. After all this time, she found him alive. It was bright in the afternoon, so she could see his face perfectly now. He had the same blonde hair from their childhood, he had a small mole under his left eye, he had those green eyes of his, but unlike his childish smile she remembers, it’s replaced with a frown and spewed out threatening words.

“Don’t come closer, Rose!”

“Lucas, please-”

“Don’t make me hurt you!”

Rose looked at his hands and saw that he was shaking a bit. He was trying to hide it, but he couldn’t. Not anymore at least. However, she didn’t have much time to think about him because he suddenly turned the knife to her mother.

“Mrs....”, he looked at Melody and he felt even worse.

He tried to say “Mrs. Melody”. It was always the way he addressed her when they were kids. Now the habit was kicking in again.

“No. Lucas. Dont do anything to my mother. Do it to me instead,” Rose told him, taking a step further. She hasn’t seen him in years, but she still wanted to try to get to him. It was as if it was in her nature. Just to reach out the ones in need. The ones that were lost.

“Lucas, lets just talk this out. Everything will be okay.” Her voice was sounding calm, even though her heart was racing. She didn’t want to lose her chance of getting Lucas to come home. She didn’t believe he would listen to her, but she had to try. She had to try and push harder than she ever has on anyone.

Lucas let out a shuttering breath.

“We can’t do that. It’s too late!”

Rose took another step forward.

“It’s never too late! We can fix all of this!”

Another step.

“You can’t fix this! Peace is never an option!”

“But we can TRY!”

Another step.

“It’s all pointless. Peace is fought for! Not handed to on a silver platter!”

Another step.

“We can still try! Peace IS fought for, but it doesn’t mean war! We can fight peacefully!”

After all the steps she took, she was only 10 feet in front of him, her hands still held up to show she meant no harm to him, but now her voice was a little hoarse from the arguing.

“Please, Lucas.”

Her voice was soft, but she knew he heard it. She looked him in the eye and she saw the little kid she loved, while also seeing the man that threw her into the clutches of the king. She wondered what was going on in Lucas’s head at this moment, but couldn’t since he eventually shook his head and put the dagger away. Rose let out a gasp of hope, thinking this meant he’ll come home.

“No. I’m not going with you. DONT follow me again, Rose.”

Lucas turned around and ran out the garden and into the woods.

As Rose watched him leave, she felt her heart drop. Deeper and deeper it went. She didn’t want to anger him. He already hurt her enough, but she wondered if he was hurting from it too? Did he regret what he did? She believes he does because he was shaking. He couldn’t look her in the eye. He saw her mother there and his kid habits starting kicking in. She stared and stared until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around to face Apollo. He had a worried look on his face.

“Rose, can we talk?”

Roses vision suddenly became blurry, but she didn’t worry. Once she blinked, it all became clear again. Her tears fell down her cheeks but they wouldn’t stop. But she refused to let out a sound until they were in the room.

Once they were in the room, she sat down on the bed and her mother sat beside her. Her mother held Her as she cried on her shoulder. Apollo sat a few feet away from them, not wanting to interrupt Melody and her time with her daughter. Especially when her daughter needed her. However, after a few minutes of crying, Rose pulled herself together and whispered into her mothers ear. Apollo tried not to listen, but he only heard Melody whisper, “Are you sure?” Rose nodded as a an answer and Melody got up and went to where Apollo was.

She didn’t sit next to him, she only stood in front of him and leaned so she could whisper in his ear.

“Rose wants to talk to you alone. Like I said, prove to her how you love her and she’ll prove it back.”

Melody left with those words. Apollo got up and sat next to Rose. He didn’t know how to start off, so he reached for Roses hand and squeezed it in silent support. She looked at their hands that were together and she thought.

“Did I ever tell you how I met Lucas?” Rose looked up at him and Apollo looked a little confused.

“I don’t think you ever did.” Apollo was worried for her but would talk about anything she wanted to. If she wanted to talk about this first, then so be it.

“I was out in the town one day with my mom. We were going to buy some food for the next week and as I stood there, I heard some commotion in the alleyway. It was some fighting, but it was kids. I knew by the sound of the voices. I basically ran into the alleyway, not listening to my mother, and I saw a little boy, curled into a ball, being kicked by other boys. I don’t remember what they said to him, all I focused on was the little boy who needed help.”

Rose let out a little painful laugh.

“What happened next sounds like something I wouldn’t do, but it’s true. I went up to the bullies and punched them all in the face.”

Apollo knew this was serious time, but he let out a laugh. Rose smiled at him and laughed as well.

“Basically, I took the fight for him. I won, obviously, and they ran away. However, I didn’t focus on them long, I just kneeled beside the little boy and asked him if he was okay. His blonde hair was a mess, he had a cut on his cheek, and he had tears running down his face. He was so scared, but he looked a little happy to see me. To see someone actually stand up for him. He smiled at me and instantly hugged me in thanks. His voice was shaky when he thanked me, but still was sweet. I told him my name and he told me his. Ever since that day, I kept meeting him and we became best friends. Until...”.

Rose stopped talking after that and Apollo squeezed her hand.

“He is lucky to have you as a best friend, Rose.”

“You mean-.”

“No. He’s not a past friend. He is still a friend. By the way you want to reach him and the way he couldn’t harm you...I still believe that connection is there. You’re still a friend to him and like I promised you, we will get him back.”

Apollo’s tone sounded confident and Rose felt a bit better at his words. His confidence spreaded to her, but not for long. She smiled at him but then looked back down at the ground.

“But is he right? Is there no peaceful way to stop this mess? Do I have to...hurt people?”

Apollo knows this is a struggle for Rose. In every timeline, Rose has never wanted to harm anyone. She has always wanted to help, not hurt. And this timeline was no different. But it was going to be, if she made the choice of war. Based on his experiences, he believes war is the answer. It’s basically drilled into his head. All of the countless wars that have been started and the ones he has witnessed, it made him believe that maybe war is the true answer.

However, Rose changed him and made him seem better. She made him want to see humanity in a better light, made him want to live among them, and made him see that maybe peace is a true way to fight.

“Is it true that...I can’t fix this?” Rose looked up at him and he saw unshed tears form in her eyes. Her lovely, blue eyes he loved looking at were now glossy.

“Is he right that all I’m doing is pointless? Is he right that...I’m just a woman doing a job that’s too big for me?”

Once she finished talking, the tears started falling down her cheeks. She breathed in, but it was more like a sniffle. Apollo wrapped an arm around her and pulled her to him. It was a side hug, but he didn’t want to push her limits and pull her into his lap. No matter how much he wanted to...

However, he pushed that want off and rested his head on hers and listened as she vented.

“I just. I don’t want war because some of those people on the kings side only fight because of fear...they don’t want war...but they have to. And so they’re innocent people! And I can’t just hurt them, Apollo. But now there’s a little part inside of me that’s thinking maybe I have too.”

Rose continued to cry in Apollo’s shoulder and he listened. He didn’t want to speak until she got everything out of her. He knows what it’s like needing to vent. He’s lost Rose a lot and always needed to vent, and he’s lucky he had Aphrodite by his side. So now he would be there for her.

“Do you want my true opinion?”

Rose looked up at Apollo and she nodded.

“Please. It’s what I really need right now. Don’t hold back, alright?”

Apollo let out a sigh. He wanted to hold back and go with her side because he felt like it was right...but he mainly believed peace couldn’t be an option right now...

“I think war is the right option. However, I think we could go inside the palace, get everyone in the army who is only doing it out of fear, get them to join you, and then we’ll do war.”

“That sounds impossible, Apollo...”

“It does, but I know you can do it. You’re so smart, strong, and trusting. Anyone can take a look at you and see that you truly care, Rose. And heck, that’s just the beginning of the idea. Let’s sketch it out with everyone and we can get this together, Rose.”

Apollo kissed her on the top of her head.

“You’re not alone, Rose.”

Rose looked at Apollo for a few seconds. Her eyes were taking in everything about him, as if she was trying to memorize all about him. He wanted to tell her that he loved her, but he wanted to wait till the right moment. Not now when she’s crying and feels broken. However, Rose had other plans.

Rose leaned in to kiss him, but at the last moment leaned in for a hug.

“Thanks, Apollo. Let’s go tell my mom and we can go back home.”

Rose got up and ruffled his hair and left the room. Apollo was a bit in shock. He knew that Rose wouldn’t probably kiss him, but he was still in shock that she was going to. She was going to initiate it, but got a little scared. He let out a soft laugh at how she was too flustered. But he didn’t want to keep her waiting, so he got his bag and everything that they had and left to go find Melody and Rose.

Before they left, Rose went back to the king and gave him her offer.

“Your grace, I am only in the sketching phase right now, but I believe I have an idea.”

Rose gestured to Apollo.

“With the help of my friend, we came up with an idea. It was that we, and a few people from my group and maybe yours, will go to the castle and get the people who are working for him out of fear to join us, sir. I know that some of these people are innocent and don’t want war, and I need to get them out of the castle and on our side somehow before I start war. I refuse to hurt innocent people, your grace. And I was wondering if I could get some of your army to go with us. They can stay in the woods, if you don’t mind, and can give us some extra tents so the people who join us don’t stay at their homes and risk their families.”

Rose took in a deep breath, still not finished with her plan. The king had a happy look on his face, like he was proud of her for having this idea and this hope. And she didn’t even stutter! It made both Melody and Apollo even more proud of her (if that’s even possible).

“I wanted to do this before we leave because I might declare war when I get home. The king has many spies in his castle, and I know they will tell the king and he might declare war or kill us. So I wanted to be prepared for whatever may happen, your grace. And I will get more help from other kingdoms if need be. His army is huge and I do not want to risk everyone from your home, your grace. I just ask of these things from you, and I will forever be in your debt.”

The king rubbed his chin in thought, but it didn’t take long for him to reply.

“I’ll do it. I know you mean best, Rose, and I want best for the kingdom as well. I’ll give you some of my army and give you all the supplies you need. Talk with your group and please keep me in contact if you can. I will always be at your service.”

Rose let out a happy sigh and smiled at him.

“Thank you so much, your grace!”

Once they were done with this agreement and planning a few more things out, Rose and Melody and Apollo were back on the horses and on the way back home. There were 1/3 of the Grasha’s army follow them. Rose couldn’t help but sometimes just look back at everyone in awe. She never believed she would get this far. However, she had to put her awe away and stay on task.

It was time to save a kingdom.

Look guys I put a lot more effort in this then you may think.

This actually isn’t fairly recent, but a couple (by that I mean two) months ago. I mostly went with the Mr Men Show’s art style to make this. Also these are two of my characters I made for that general series. Mr. Soliloquy and Ms. Optimism are their names. Also Opti looks better walking then Soliloquy who looks stiff..

een zeer goede vraag en ik weet zelf eigenlijk niet goed het antwoord omdat ik te weinig betrokken ben bij klimaatgroepen (al ga ik wel naar de staking op 27 september).

een site die ik aanraad om te checken is oneworld.nl , waar journalisten artikelen plaatsen over het milieu, alsook andere belangrijke vraagstukken en hoe deze samenhangen met elkaar (bv. dekolonialisme en anti-kapitalisme). er zijn behoorlijk wat artikelen over hoe je zelf duurzamer kunt leven, maar er wordt ook geschreven over duurzaamheid op een grotere schaal. ze hebben ook een twitter, als je die wilt volgen.

een volger raadde mij de milieugroep Extinction Rebellion aan, waar ik zelf niet een fan van ben omdat ze zich radicaler voordoen dan ze zijn en veel vertrouwen leggen in de staat en politie. maar je kunt het zeker checken omdat je in een groep beter kunt strijden voor goede doeleinden. radicaal linkse groepen zijn ook over het algemeen ook voor een beter milieu en dierenwelzijn (omdat economische uitbuiting en vernietiging van de natuur uiteraard vaak samen gaan).

ik ben verder niet genoeg bekend met milieu-activisme om bepaalde acties of groepen te benoemen en ben zelf nog op zoek naar een locale linkse (informele) organisatie om me bij aan te sluiten (en aan t twijfelen omdat ik weinig emotioneel aan kan momenteel).

als mijn volgers tips hebben zou dat zeer welkom zijn! :o

in ieder geval, je wat meer inlezen (bv. op OneWorld) is altijd een goed begin. wel raad ik aan kritisch te zijn op wat je leest en nooit uit het oog te verliezen dat kapitalisme de veroorzaker is van klimaatverandering. als men de schuld geeft aan plastic rietjes drinkers (wat sws niet tof is want ze zijn de veiligste optie voor mensen met een beperking) of als iemand als Greta Thurnberg (gefinancieerd door een start-up kapitalistische organisatie die zichzelf een tech bedrijf noemt) zgn. voor het klimaat strijdt maar westerse landen ook bedankt voor hun goede economie en positie in de wereld, dan zijn dit pogingen om de oorzaak van de huidige staat van het klimaat te verhullen en de status quo te behouden.

het helpt uiteraard wel een beetje om zelf duurzamer te leven! recyclen, minder wegwerp producten, eerlijker voedsel en tweedehands kopen etc etc zijn goed om in je levensstijl op te nemen, vooral omdat westerse mensen gemiddeld tien keer meer vervuilen dan in een "derde wereld" land. maar de grootste corporale vervuilers moeten ook aansprakelijk worden gesteld en niet blijven wegkomen met een kleine boete van de overheid, of zelfs belastingvoordelen. hoe je het beste actie kunt ondernemen om dit tegen te gaan weet ik dus helaas nog niet. again, als volgers tips hebben, laat het gerust weten!

edit: oh, ik zie nu pas dat je noemde dat je niet weet hoe politieke partijen instaan op het klimaat. wat dat betreft zijn VVD en Forum Voor Democratie het meest schuldig aan klimaatverandering negeren of zelfs ontkennen (FVD) en vooral VVD is berucht om het samenwerken met (en partijleden hebben die komen uit) multinationals. Groenlinks presenteert zich als een partij die er is voor het milieu, maar het is een behoorlijk liberale partij die again niet kapitalisme wil aanpakken, wat de milieu agenda best oppervlakkig maakt. voor de rest van de partijen weet ik niet veel over hun klimaatbeleid, al lijkt Partij voor de Dieren me wel het meest bewust ervan en die wil ook de meest strenge klimaateisen voor de toekomst.
