Mozzie got kicked out of boy scouts for cheating, something about the pine box derby and magnets.

WELL. I was watching white collar with my dad and he grabs the remote and goes “Oh my god. I know what he’s talking about!! That happened when I was in scouts!” So story time.

Boy scouts way back when used to have a race called the pine box derby. Scouts would have to build some sort of a car out of carts/boxes/whatever they could find. They’d attach wheels and basically make as good of a little race car as they could. Now. At the start of the race, all the cars would line up on a hill and be held in place by a big metal slab. When the bell sounded, the slab would fall forward and all the cars would roll down the hill. But because the slab was metal, that meant it was magnetic. If you wanted to cheat, you would find yourself some industrial strength magnets and imbed them in the front of your little car. They would attach to the slab and when it fell forward the magnets would pull your car forward with it giving you the extra boost forward to win.

Mozzie’s been out here playing work smarter not harder since he was a literal child.

Mozzie did this to me. He was getting ready to jump up on the counter (illegal in our house) so I got between him and the counter and was like "no dude, not okay."

He gave me a mildly irritated look and moved to a different spot and got ready to jump up.

I got between him and the counter.

We went back and forth for a few rounds, and I swear, every time I got in his way, he gave me this "dude, what is your DEAL I am trying to DO SOMETHING here" irritated kind of look, like I was interrupting his Important Task.

The only thing that got him to stop and move on was to let him jump up, then immediately evict him. Goofball cat.

love when you stop a cat from doing something and instead of understanding that they shouldnt be doing that theyre just like. ah sorry my good sir you seem to have interrupted me. no worries let me just shimmy past you and get a taste of that pan of hot oil. please.

Kinda strange for IQ to be reaching out after what happened at the tower, not that Im like "shes nighthaven now so she doesnt care" but this is the first time someone from nighthaven has reached out like this

I'm so tired today.

I was getting ready to sleep, I heard a buzzing by my ear, I turned my light on, slapped the little mosquito and went back to bed...

I heard a buzzing by my ear again, frustrated I turned the light on, slapped ANOTHER little mosquito and went back to my bed... I heard ANOTHER BUZZ and I felt like I was going mad.

I turned the light on, swiveled my head in all directions and saw the new aggressor was on the ceiling. I frantically waved at it hoping it would move lower down the wall but he kept dancing across the ceiling.

Luckily he was above my chair, I needed something long with reach so with duster in hand I smooshed him.

My boyfriend pointed him out on the wall, I was annoyed he was still alive but grateful someone else had seen it, I wasn't going mad after all.

I smack him with a slim beam of wood I had been hoarding for some unknown reason, unaware that fate had led us to this moment, weapon in hand we struck. I struck again and again and again reaching the other side of the room finally he had lowered himself, perhaps feeling pity for me, but this was his mistake. I bested him finally, his remains painting my cream coloured walls.

Tired and defeated I said "I'll sleep on the couch tonight, I've kept you awake for long enough."

I breathed a sigh and clutching a pillow I trudged to the door and saw it. Another mosquito. I slapped it lazily and chuckled at how absurd this all was.

I made my way to my new camp for the night, the grey mottled couch was where I'd be resting my head. As I drifted into slumber it occurred to me, had my boyfriend been wearing his glasses when he pointed out the mosquito? Perhaps he had seen the remains of a previous escapade I'd had with an unlucky insectoid weeks prior. I couldn't worry about that now, sleep had me in her sweet embrace.

When I awoke the next morning I groggily wandered back to the bedroom, back to where it had all happened. "So that wasn't just a dream huh?" I said under my breath looking at my discarded weapons. As I picked them up to put them away (why I was still holding onto the wood I'll never know. Perhaps fate has more plans for us in the future), I lifted my head to see the result of my fight and...

Update about rewatching the 2009 crime drama, White Collar with my 60 year old mother: I have successfully completely convinced my mom that Neal Caffrey is gay and is 100% in love with his FBI partner, Peter Burke. Every single episode when the show has Neal flirt with women, my mom comments about how little she buys that relationship, and whenever the show has Neal and Peter visibly care about each other, my mom comments that it’s because he’s his boyfriend. We are in Season 3, and she has framed Neal’s decision to stay with Peter or go on the run with his crime partner Mozzie as a gay love triangle. Today, my mom told me how much she enjoys rewatching it specifically because seeing it as a love story between the two leads has added a dimension that wasn’t there before. Welcome aboard the ship, mom. 👍

Hi, I’m currently writing my first ever Neal Caffrey and was wondering if you’d like to be tagged into any of my stories. I understand if that’s something you don’t want to. Have you got any tips writing for him? :)

Oh my gosh! Yeah! Okay, so, tips for writing Neal (at least from what I have)

- Always, when Neal is talking refer to Mozzie as Moz.

- The only time, and this is in the show as well, when Neal refers to Mozzie as Mozzie instead of Moz is in a dead serious conversation with Mozzie.

- I give Neal that weird mix of Golden retriever and black cat energy.

- But if I'm writing Peter (and it is a possibility, my drafts are a thing of great mystery) I'll give him a weird mix of Golden retriever and bull dog.

- For any other detailing I use @/theschoolofplot on insta for different things. They mainly have fantasy writing tips, but in all of that, have lots of general writing tips as well

- Oh, and for crimes, I know it will look dead dodgy, but make your search history look like you are about to go and commit a crime. Every crime. Don't care what it is. From cons to murder, let the FBI suspect EVERYTHING about you.

- I don't live anywhere near New York or the US as a whole, I'm in the UK, so I do quite commonly sit and look at a map. It isn't the best, but it does come in handy for looking at how long streets normally are in the area I'm trying to describe, even if I'm using the wrong names.

- Back on the point of writing Neal as a character, I'll normally rewatch a couple White Collar episodes as I'm writing a piece just to make sure the levels of sass are up to scratch.

I think that's kind of it from what I can think of, at least for now, but if you need anymore tips, feel free to send in another ask.

oooooo yesssss!!! Here are a few that I love:

I am obsessed with this fic. The writing style and language is sooo beautiful. GAH 😭 It's written with quite a few time jumps...so for me I had to take it slow and really enjoy and savor the fic. I mean just read this:

It's the first chance he's had to look at Neal, slow down and really look at him, and he's so - Peter can't find the words for it. Neal looks like a fascinating new case, like Mozzie's car, like the sun setting behind home plate. He looks like something Peter wants to get his hands on. His hair is longer, bleached light by the sun and curling in the sea air, and Peter wants to reach out, brush it back off his forehead, run his thumb along the line of stubble hugging Neal's jaw.

UGH gorgeous!!! I love this paragraph so much and the entire fic is written like this, so soft and beautiful.

This one is just short and literally sweet and SO them.

Then Neal catches Peter's wrist in his hand and brushes his lips over the pad of Peter's thumb, his eyes warm and devilish. Peter jumps, giving Neal a stern look and pushing down the lingering thought that he should go for it anyway, damn whoever's looking.

lol Neal literally is just tempting Peter this entire fic and it's adorable.

If anything, it's going to pull Peter in deeper, make him that much more determined. But he's talked himself into a corner, and he can't find a way to slip it. The only way out is through.

This one is just cozy and soft and sweet and set in Copenhagen so what is not to like? It's like being wrapped in a warm hug!

Everything would be easier, Peter thinks, if Copenhagen wasn’t so damn romantic. He’s not usually one to notice things like that, but even he can’t miss the way that the October late-afternoon sun turns the water in Nyhavn harbor golden, and deepens the burnt orange and burnished yellow shades of the townhouses. Tourist couples stroll past, hand in hand, or sit close together at the outdoor tables of the tiny canalside cafes, and the air swirls with happy chatter and the strains of restaurant music. It is undeniably idyllic, and it’s making Peter’s skin itch.

Things would also be easier, of course, if Neal wasn’t so damn… Neal.

Y/n: Of course, as the whole internet know by this point I went through a pretty big break up at the beginning of last year. This song just talks about how I've felt through the process and how I' d moved on.

Interviewer: Now social media plays a big part of anyone’s life but especially yours and taylor swifts, you both are always doing sneaky little hints to things. Now this week there’s been some chatter about someone in your past doing the same anything you’d like to say about that

Y/n: All I will say is that I’m very happy at the moment and am not going back in time to any memories or people.

Interviewer: Excellent! Last question for you today Y/n, you’ve shown your support for our nations team the Matilda’s at a couple of games of the FWWC now. I didn’t realise you were such a big fan of the sport?

GUYS okay hear me out majoras mask boat boys au

I love legend of zelda I love boat boys this is like the ultimate combination of my interests you cannot understand the brainrot. Idk what to call it yet tho... majoras minecraft? Anyway prepare for an essay

OKAY so we have the Hero of Time, Etho, who stopped ganons plans before they started, and would be stuck in a child's body if not for the fact I think that'd be a lil weird for the more shippy aspects of this au that all the running through time aged his soul and his body followed suit (he's still got a young appearance, and the mask doesn't make him look older like he thinks). Same reason he has the scar over his eye (from the ganon fight); no matter how much the body may heal or rewind the mind will not forget.

Then navi (maybe bdubs?) left him, and he went with epona (maybe bdubs instead? (eponas a horse iydk)) and he sets out on a journey aka the beginning of mm:

Wandering through the woods on epona, gets jumped by skull kid. For those unaware, there is skull kid, a lonely lil sweetheart, and he wears the mask, an entity on its own. He also has two fairies, siblings tael and tatl.

So I was a little unsure about this for a while, but I think I've decided on grian for the skull kid and Jimmy for tael, grian bc watchers and Jimmy bc skull kid is not very nice to tael (bc of the mask) and like a listeners reference or smth blah blah blah

TATL. that's who's interesting. At the beginning she gets separated from her friends and becomes your companion. So naturally for this au she is our favourite joel smallishbeans. It works so well. Tatl is mean but cares, and that's joels dynamic with the bad boys and with etho, guys it's literally perfect idc what you say

I think it doesn't change much throughout like the story of the game, but just taking dialogue tatl says to link and its so perfect for a sassy joel to a "can't believe I'm dealing with this shit again" etho. Uh one thing different though; in hylian form etho doesn't have an ocarina but instead a mini marimba. Just because. I think it's cool, and for potential things later on.

Now, fairies in this au are just tiny glowing people shaped things with wings. The glow around them is their magic, and depending on emotions/energy the brightness changes (thats why they look like flying balls of light). Some fairies have the ability to make projections of themselves, more hylian sized in nature. This can be intimidation or distraction or w/e, but they cant do it for long periods of time bc its exhausting. These forms aren't physical. Just sized up light projections of their actual bodies.

So for a lot of their journey, joel is just a cute pocket sized ball of rage and sarcasm, who helps with ethos aim for fighting. Bc that's a game mechanic and also ethos like half blind. But like when joel calms down imagine him crawling into ethos hat and just dozing off. He can fit in the palm of your hand like guys it's so cute. But he is also capable of being worse than a mozzie

Oh probably a good point to put in what I imagine etho looks like. So it's typical link green (maybe a bit dampened?), weird pointy hat, short hair (white ofc), his shirt is more of a jacket with a fluffy cold weather collar, it's a bit too big for him but he knows he'll grow into it, he's all knobbly and thin (underfed a lil, boy was never taught how to care for himself beyond basic survival). His injured eye is red bc of ganon, and often gives him phantom pains. It can't be healed.

Anyway, at some point in their journey together, etho and joel learn a song that let's fairies have a larger physical form, no wings, sorta like the great fairies (who they learnt it from prolly). It isn't permanent, slowly draining ethos magic meter, the spell ends when you run out of magic. This is because I want them to actually be able to stand side by side or maybe hug, and also bc its hard to block a blow with your body when ur tennis ball sized.

Aaaaand, this ties back in with with marimba. What if ethos injured, or unconscious, and he obviously can't defend himself, so joel panics and plays the marimba in what he hopes is the right order to give himself a body. I imagine that being that small, you could not play an ocarina. And hey maybe joel carries etho away after that, and when the spell ends he has barely any light emitting from himself because he spent nearly all his magic (what he is made of) saving etho.

But this song isn't used much, because of its draining nature, and you can't really do any other magic things while it's going. So it's mostly just in the final fight (over and over) or tough moments or maybe joel wants to experience something like hoe hylians do. It's obviously inferior to how he experiences things as a fairy, of course, he's just curious thats all. He totally doesn't want etho to do it more.

Okay I think ill sorta stop here, I am NOT done, I will probably post some art I've done for this later lol, and I want help with who everyone else is (mumbo is the moon. You cannot stop me nor change my mind) with mcyts to npcs

WHAT'S THIS I HEAR ABOUT WHITE COLLAR GETTING A REBOOT?!

So, funny story, I just started rewatching White Collar on Netflix for the first time in almost a decade, and was browsing through the White Collar subreddit on Reddit when I heard the news!

This is so exciting! I wonder if Neal will have a family, but they don't know of his criminal past. Ooh, maybe he has a long-lost child with Kate or Sara! I wonder how they'll deal with Mozzie's and June's actors having passed away. Maybe June will be dead but Mozzie is still alive somewhere (that way they won't be overdoing it with the death).
