I had the high honor of participating in the magnanimous and esteemed @bowelfly 's magnificent Gigaphone.
I think I'm #53 of 72 incredible artists, and I could never have guessed where this chain began, or where it ended. But I did get to draw eels, my one true creature.
If you haven't seen it all, please do over HERE (Its also a list of amazing artists to follow)

New eel dropped! Named after Hades due to its sensitivity to light, its dark color, and its habit of burrowing into dim dark deep domains.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
It's time for a costume change! Male ribbon eels are bright blue with a yellow stripe along the back, but when they change into females they turn entirely yellow. Interestingly, ribbon eels themselves are color blind, so they are unable to distinguish sex based on color. The reason for their bright coloration, or the difference between sexes is unknown.

NEW MORAY EEL NAMED HADES DROPPED!!!!!
it's everything i've ever wanted

found in a cave by accident, theyre incredibly sensitive to light. they even appear to have bodies adapted for life in low light environments like smaller eye size and less sensory pores on their face. This indicates they're utilising taste and smell rather than sight, which makes a lot of sense when you take into account their muddy estuarine environments that don't give the eyes a lot to work with.
They've been observed burrowing tail-first as well- incredibly unusual behaviour for morays!

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Contrary to the popular song Frank Sinatra song, moray eel eyes are actually quite small, and they have poor eyesight. To compensate, members of the Muraenidae family have two sets of nostrils; one pair just above their eyes, and a larger, tube-shaped pair towards the front of their face. The particular shape of their nostrils allows them to more accurately identify and locate prey. Now that’s a-moray!
