Here are some MORE funny and wholesome Yu-Gi-Oh! (DM and DSOD) head canons!

(With the addition of my OCs L1m and Zephyr)

Yugi: Has a strange obsession with oranges. Like he HATES orange juice but loves anything orange flavored. Especially fanta.

Atem (before afterlife): Shared the same obsession with orange flavored things as yugi. They often fought over the last can of orange Fanta in the fridge... They always ended up sharing it tho. (Via switching places in Yugi's body.)

Solomon: Could secretly see Atem stand next to Yugi, even though Atem didn't have a physical body. But... He never said anything because he knew the bond between Yugi and Atem was special. He also bought more Fanta for the two when he found out Atem liked the soda.

Atem (after dsod): Visited Yugi and Solomon regularly. Even though Yugi couldn't see him, Solomon could. For some reason, Solomon has the ability to see the dead? No one knew why. But Atem and the old man reconnected. Eventually Yugi found out, and they all talked again, reconnecting, and Yugi/Atem played Yugi's newest game together.

Téa: She would help Joey, Tristan, and Yugi with algebra homework when the trio skipped classes for go to the arcade.

Téa (dsod): when the boys skipped class for the arcade, so did she. They all had Bakura help them with Algebra homework instead.

Mokuba and Kaiba (dsod): Mokuba had a late diagnosis of Autism and Adhd when he turned 16. When Kaiba found this out, he invested about a good $10,000 into putting a volume/color easing setting on the duel disks so those with autism don't get over stimulated when dueling. He eventually added visual audio settings for the deaf and convinced Pegasus to add braile on the cards so the blind can duel too.

Kaiba (dsod): Cut Mokiba's hair himself. He knew Mokuba would want to keep his hair longer, but also knew that Mokuba needed something slicker for his ever-growing corporate personality.

Bakura and Marik (after DM) : even after the Pharaohs tomb collapsed, Bakura kept in touch with Ishizu and Marik. Eventually, Marik moved to Japan just to see Bakura, and they started living together as roommates (😏).

- (oc) KaibaCorp L1m1nal (after dsod): Was originally created as an experiment for Kaiba to see if he can give ai emotional sentience (this was before dsod arc) but they eventually just became Mokuba and Kaiba's extended family. (After dsod arc) Litterly they lived with the two brothers. They eventually just became a "third sibling".

- (oc) Zephyr (dm): didn't know Yugi and the gang much, but being a pagan and having a connection with the dead, they always saw 2 Yugi's. One taller, one shorter. They thought that it could have been a dead relative of Yugi just watching over him, but then saw Yugi talking to the taller Yugi one day. Zephyr brushed it off as Yugi being pagan too. (But it was actually just Atem).

- (oc) Zephyr and L1m (during dsod arc): Did NOT like each other. Zephyr had a disdain for artificial life, being the pretentious pagan that they are. L1m had a disdain for mysterious and unreadable people. But both found a common ground in confusing everyone with their genders (one is a biological enby, and one is a amab).

Joey (in general): Buys eyeliner for himself and the ones that have a color that he doesn't like, he gives to Serenity (she loves any color).

Yugi and Atem(dm): Found an old photo of Yugi's mother in his closet, though it wasn't in good shape. Later on that day, Yugi found it in a picture frame, good as new, on his bedside table. He knew only Atem could have done this.

Mai (after dsod): started running a cosplay/modeling agency for people who liked the duel monsters card game and cosplay. She even worked with KaibaCorp to develop realistic holograms to add flair to her shows. She found that life wasn't about just getting money, but just about having fun and working hard to help yourself and others. She became an inspiration for millions of young girls who wanted to rule to world.

Kaiba doesn’t watch tv so Kisara’s out of context game of thrones quotes give Kaiba a scare.

“Fire cannot kill a dragon.”

“I am the blood of the dragon.”

“A dragon is not a slave.”

Just when he thought he was safe from having to deal with magic mumbo jumbo his girlfriend is remembering their past life.

He has an internal freak out until Mokuba explains it’s just Kisara getting ready for her Daenerys cosplay for Domino City Comic Con. Mokuba wants to go with her and asks Seto for money for the con. Seto says yes and gives him whatever he asks for. He’s just relieved his sweet, adorable, beautiful girlfriend is fine.

when I say "we could buy this briefcase" I don't mean "you could buy this for me" bc I literally do not have the Storage space for something that, while insanely DOPE, is essentially junk inside a 1 bedroom apartment with exactly 1 closet. Seto and Mokuba Kaiba for the YGO Bingo Card

Mokuba first because it's a little bit less chaotic.

I adore Mokuba. There are so many ways you can go with his character depending on where you decide to place your fic in the anime -- manga continuum, how you feel he ages, and how much celebrity affects him. He can be a feral gremlin child with no social skills. He can be the only Kaiba with emotional intelligence. He can be a spoiled rotten brat. He can carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. And, he will gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss his way out of any situation. Also. I don't usually genderbend or hc characters as trans, but we already had his princess-equivalent in a filler arc and honestly I love several NB Mokuba interpretations.

BINGO He is trash in all the ways I am trash, or WISH I were trash. He is wonderful in all the ways I wish I was. I want to duel him because that means I would see him in his element. I don't want to duel him because he will DESTROY ME. I want to duel him because he will DESTROY ME.

Seto Kaiba is my first blorbo. A blorbo from before when blorbos existed. He popped into existence at a time when my existence was in shambles and I let him take over for a bit. For being someone whose face I've literally brought to the hair salon because I wanted my hair cut like his… for the fact that when I first was experimenting with masculinity it was through convoluted Kaiba not-cosplay, I'm surprised he didn't get a very gender response. Probably because he is so incorporated into gender at this point that like... I can't possibly feel gender envy again.

He literally has eaten my thoughts for years, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Drabble: Cosplay Time!

It was a sunny day in Gravesfield. A certain small starboy with otherworldly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold had a bright smile on his adorable multi-colored face as he, along with his beloved big brother Hunter, was at a cosplay convention.

Colli was dressed as Mokuba and Hunter as Seto Kaiba. The kindhearted eternal child was happily floating next to the young Grimwalker. Hunter's magenta eyes were filled to the brim with love and adoration for the immortal celestial boy.

Kaiba Corp's vice president had come to visit the academy much to the delight (and anxious dread) of the faculty and students. Word had spread across the campus like wildfire, and the student body had quickly decided that Ryo would be the one to serve as school representative. Not that anyone knew the reason Mokuba Kaiba was showing up, but better safe than sorry.

Ryo had come ready to face Mokuba in a duel to prove the effectiveness of the academy's teachings, but instead found that the young vice president was focused on other things.

"Wait ...Hold the phone! You're telling me this school has ... no prom?!"

That wasn't what he expected at all. ❝ Prom? ❞

❝ No, we have a graduation duel ceremony instead. Every year, the top student of the graduating class is able to face any other student of their choosing in an exhibition match to inspire their classmates and the underclassmen. ❞

Mokuba didn't seem very pleased with that answer.

❝ ... We do have some student run events, though! ❞

❝ We have a school spirit week! It's probably the time where students in any dorm get along the best- Slifer Red holds a duel monsters cosplay competition, which is always fun to watch. ❞

Nobody hired someone to cosplay as Dark Magician at Kaiba Land, right? But this one looks awfully like the real one...

He could've sworn the pharaoh was here somewhere. And now he doesn't know how to react to the attention he's getting—

Mokuba is used to crowd movements within Kaiba Land, especially during planned events. Performers sometimes joined each other to mimic a Duel Monsters game, or to show impressive tricks to the audience— it was part of what kept Kaiba Land a fresh experience every time and made people come back over the years.

This one, though, wasn't planned— at least to Mokuba's knowledge. Curious, he tries to force his way through the excited groups of kids and manages to catch a glimpse of a large, unmistakable figure— a Dark Magician performer!

How come? He's almost 99% sure the only Magician performer that's regularly around Kaiba Land is Dark Magician Girl...?

Either way, Mokuba's starry-eyed.

Mokuba's not making his way through the crowds anymore, he's straight up pushing children to get to him first.

"Out of my way! I'm Mokuba Kaiba, let me through!!"

When he finally gets to the Dark Magician, Mokuba grins.

"Are you a new performer here? You know who I am, right?"

He stands, proud and cheerful.

Ryou complains about the price of groceries going up and Mokuba’s just like “👀👀👀 I can buy the store for you.”

And that’s why Kaibacorp has a chain of grocery stores around Domino City and random locations around Japan and just…investors going “what’s his game???” at Seto because they assume he’s trying to monopolize other industries but they can’t fucking understand his thoughts about location and what the fuck makes him buy a random store in the middle of nowhere.

Nope, it’s just Mokuba being a dumbass, and it’s surprisingly profitable and just spiraled into a monopoly.

Kisara and Mokuba sacrifice movie nights to watch Games of Thrones instead with Seto. They entice him to watch with the promise of dragons.

...

Seto sits on the couch with Kisara. He asks her, “When do the dragons show up?”

Kisara curls up closer to him and pats his knee. “Just keep watching, Seto.”

Mokuba, sitting on Seto’s other side with a bowl of popcorn in his lap says, “Maybe we should’ve started with House of the Dragon.”

…

Watching Daenerys on screen, Seto asks Kisara, " Is she who you cosplay as?"

"Yep. How do I compare?"

Seto says, "You’re more beautiful."

Blushing, Kisara says, " Thank you, love. " She kisses him and he returns the affection readily.

Mokuba deadpans, "Do I need to leave the room?"

…

Kisara is sleeping next to him, her head on his shoulder. Mokuba, who moved to the love seat several episodes ago to sprawl out, is also asleep. Seto can hear his snoring from where he sits.

He agreed to watch the show because he wanted to make them happy and because he really doesn’t care what they watch. He just enjoys spending time with them and unwinding from work. He keeps watching long past they’ve fallen asleep, despite how easily he can turn off the TV, because he needs to watch one more episode before bed.

The next morning when Kisara asks if he wants to keep watching he says, “Yes.”

“Really?” She smiles at his answer.

“I’m invested now.”
