Read the take on Anthony going from his six espresso shots to stealing Kateโ€™s strawberry lemonade because he likes the softer things in life and couldnโ€™t help but think how goofy it would be for him to get into skin care when theyโ€™re dating because Kate has a skin care routine and also because his skin needs to always glow and be soft like a babyโ€™s bum. Like him actually stealing her routine or telling her sheโ€™s not teaching him enough.
Oh Anthony just looking at Kate putting on a face mask like
โ€œYou can umโ€ฆ put one on me if you like.โ€
Kate chuckled, โ€œDo you need your pores to be smaller?โ€
Anthony pursed his lips, โ€œIt justโ€ฆ it looks like it feels nice. And it smells nice and your skin is always so soft andโ€ฆ yeah.โ€
Kate smiled, kissing his cheek gently before she disappeared into the bathroom. Anthony peered over the back of the couch. โ€œBabe? If you think itโ€™s weird I donโ€™t-โ€
โ€œItโ€™s not weird.โ€ Kate reappeared, a headband dangling from her finger. โ€œWe just need to keep your hair out of the way.โ€
She sat on his lap, tugging the headband over his head holding his hair back from his face. She dipped her fingers into the mask spreading it gently on his skin.
โ€œThis is going to be so good for your T-zone.โ€
โ€œDo I have a T-zone?โ€
โ€œYou do. You could probably benefit from a little bit of moisturizer as well.โ€
โ€œOkay.โ€
โ€œWe can find you something tomorrow.โ€
โ€œYeah, okay.โ€
Kate hummed as she finished, โ€œI know you keep using my shampoo.โ€
โ€œIt makes my hair feel nice!โ€
โ€œI know,โ€ She hummed, โ€œItโ€™s nice, hey?โ€
โ€œIt is nice. This is nice. I like justโ€ฆ I like spending time with you, like this.โ€
Kate let out a satisfied noise, โ€œYeah, me too.โ€
It becomes something of a routine for them, sitting on a Sunday night with their clay masks on while they watch TV.
โ€œI canโ€™t go out.โ€ Anthony sighed to Simon and Ben, hands on his hips. โ€œItโ€™s Sunday.โ€
โ€œThatโ€™sโ€ฆ never stopped you before?โ€ Ben chuckled. โ€œOld man, Anthony.โ€
โ€œNo itโ€™sโ€ฆ I have a routine on Sundays!โ€
Simon raised his eyebrows, โ€œWhat happens on Sundays?โ€
โ€œI justโ€ฆโ€ Anthony tutted. โ€œIf you must know, itโ€™s face mask night! And I donโ€™t want to miss it! Look how small my pores have gotten! And Iโ€™ve been using moisturizer and it smells like peppermint and I use Kateโ€™s Lush shampoo and conditioner! It has sea salt in that exfoliates my scalp and I like it!โ€
Ben and Simon stared at him in shock, before finally Ben put his hands on his hips. โ€œI have noticed youโ€™re glowing and I actually think itโ€™s rude of you to keep this to yourself! I want to glow!โ€
โ€œYeah why donโ€™t you want us to glow?!โ€
โ€œI didnโ€™t know you wanted to!โ€

Papa's Nighttime Routines HC's
headcanons include: primo, secondo, terzo, and copia
word count: 1.7k
authors note: WHOOO BUDDY i cranked out two pieces today, i am on a roll! comments are always appreciated, i'd love to hear your thoughts! headcanons are so fun, it's like playing with a little doll that you're borrowing for playtime
warnings: none that i know of! send me a message if you see any that need disclosed :)
Primoย
Primo starts his night around 6:30, where he enters his quarters and immediately collapses into his armchair. Heโ€™ll usually take a few moments to just sit there. Heโ€™s usually not burdened by paperwork so much anymore, but Siblings depend on him for guidance. Whether it be a deep internal struggle, or simply asking where the correct potting soil is kept in storage, he has to answer many questions. It takes a toll going from one extreme to the lowest degree.ย
After a few moments in his armchair decompressing, he makes his way to the bathroom, where he goes to take his shower. He takes a shower at night, and occasionally in the morning if heโ€™s had a rough night. He still uses shampoo even though heโ€™s bald, he doesnโ€™t want to have an oily looking head. He uses a peppermint scented body wash, he claims it โ€œwakes his skin upโ€
After getting out of the shower, he uses an unscented lotion and takes his towel out of his towel warmer (a birthday gift from Terzo.) He cleanses his face of paint before hopping in the shower, and uses a moisturizer after his shower. He makes sure to apply moisturizer evenly, making sure to get in all of his wrinkles and fine lines.ย
After his shower, heโ€™ll get into his pajamas. His pajamas are a silk sleeping set, maroon colored. He also has some fluffy house slippers that are worn down because heโ€™s used them for quite a long time. During the winter he opts for thick lodge socks. He has quite the collection! He brushes his teeth thoroughly with a black licorice toothpaste.ย
When heโ€™s clothed, he usually settles into bed with a good book. Heโ€™s partial to nonfiction, but he also likes fantasy. If heโ€™s feeling saucy, heโ€™ll read some dark romance. He has an extensive bookcase, all of the brothers are avid readers.ย
He usually falls asleep around 9:30. He sleeps straight on his back, arms folded over his stomach. He tends to snore, but itโ€™s not obnoxious, just a slow back and forth rumble. His brothers swear that Primo talked in his sleep when he was a kid, but Primo denies this vehemently.ย
On his nightstand he has a glass of water, his reading glasses, his nighttime book, and a box of tissues (his allergies act up at night).ย
Secondoย
Secondoโ€™s night starts around 7 or 8, depending on if he has confessional duty. Once he gets back to his quarters, he likes to decompress by having a cigarette on his patio. He enjoys looking across the Abbey courtyard, watching the Siblings make their way to their rooms.ย
After his cigarette is down to the filter, he goes to take off his paints. Secondo is more of a shower in the morning, but he doesnโ€™t mind taking a relaxing bath in the evening from time to time. Once he takes his paints off, he moisturizes well and applies an under eye cream. He loathes the fact that his under eyes have started to wrinkle, and he dislikes his crows feet.ย
After cleansing his face, he makes his way to his dresser, where he undresses. After making sure to hang his robes up correctly to avoid wrinkling, he puts his dirty clothes in the hamper. He dislikes having clutter around his personal space. As for pajamas, Secondo is likely to sleep naked with just a pair of long black socks. He finds clothes suffocating under his blankets, and just prefers to sleep naked. During the winter he may wear a white undershirt and some boxers, along with his standard black socks. Before he goes to bed, he finishes up by brushing his teeth with mint toothpaste and flossing his teeth violently. He says he has no idea why his gums bleed.ย
As for his nighttime activities, Secondo likes to curl up with a book and a small glass of expensive whiskey, the kind that makes you want to curl up and die after a small sip. For reading material, he prefers nonfiction, usually theology or philosophy. If heโ€™s feeling saucy, he will read just straight up erotica.ย
Secondo goes to bed around 9:30 to 10. He sleeps sprawled out on his stomach, heโ€™s a fan of the starfish position. He snores ridiculously loud. Terzo swears he can hear him through the Abbey walls. He also likes to sleep with as little blanket coverage as possible, he feels like it suffocates him.ย
His nightstand has his nighttime reading book, snore strips, and a box of tissues. He also has his reading glasses, a nail file, and a lip balm.ย
Terzoย
Terzoโ€™s night starts at 7:30, depending on if confessional duty goes a while or gets a little saucy, if yโ€™know what I mean. He also likes to spend a while in the dining hall speaking with Siblings, catching up with their days and making sure everyone is okay.ย
He immediately cleanses his face of his paints and then hops in the shower. He uses an unscented shampoo and conditioner, his body wash is lilac and jasmine scented. He also uses a jasmine scented body scrub at different times during the week. He takes showers in the morning and night, but does his most extensive routine at night.ย
When he gets out of the shower, he starts a bit of an elaborate and sort of skewed skincare routine. He uses a moisturizing toner first, but he refuses to use a moisturizer. He says it feels greasy on his skin, but will not try any skin care brands. He uses under eye cream as well. He uses a very expensive body lotion, and lotions himself up like a slug.ย
Once he gets out of the shower, he puts on his pajamas. He has multiple pairs of pajamas, but he usually wears one of his various old band t-shirts and some boxers. If heโ€™s feeling saucy, heโ€™ll wear nothing. When winter comes around he has a track suit that he likes to wear around his quarters. He tends to wear slippers, but theyโ€™re nothing too fancy, just some fuzzy purple ones.ย
His nighttime activities usually include some type of tv show, heโ€™s not picky on what he watches. He usually picks reality cooking shows, cozying up in his bed with a cup of nighttime tea. He will occasionally watch a movie, but he prefers to have something he can come back to every night with a new episode reliably pulled up to watch. Before he goes to bed, he brushes his teeth gingerly with bubblegum flavored toothpaste. He refuses to use mint because it stings.ย ย
He usually goes to sleep around 10 oโ€™clock, though heโ€™s been known to stay up until 11 watching a good engaging documentary show. He sleeps with many blankets, including a weighted blanket. He likes an abundance of pillows, one between his legs and one behind his back, including one to latch onto when he sleeps. He sleeps on his side, but during the winter, he likes to sleep face up and breathing in the cold air from his open patio. He is prone to sleep talking, but none of it makes any sense. When they were kids, Secondo used to stay up late and try to get Terzo to have an actual conversation, but the sentences never stayed coherent.ย
On his nightstand, he has a lip balm, a box of tissues, some hand lotion, and a small pill bottle of Viagra hidden in his nightstand drawer.ย
Copiaย
Copia starts his night around 6:30 usually, but he can also stay in his office until around 8 some nights if the paperwork piles up, or itโ€™sโ€ฆ tax season! In this case, weโ€™ll do a normal night around six thirty.ย
He gets to his quarters and starts feeding and watering his rats. He makes sure theyโ€™re all well, giving them all time to inspect him and give them the required scratches and kisses. He will give them all of their treats that he gathered from the dining hall, usually either blueberries or sunflower seeds from the salad bar.ย
After his rendezvous with his little ratties, he hops in the shower. He uses a green tea scented shampoo and conditioner, and uses an unscented body wash. He prefers not to use intense scents because they can make his head hurt. Once he gets out of the shower, he moisturizes his face, making sure to get his neck since it can get dry.ย
Once he gets out of the shower, he gets into his pjโ€™s, which are his standard red sweatpants and hoodie. He also wears lodge socks, since he doesnโ€™t like to be barefoot. Besides him just preferring to have socks on, his room can get cold easily. He doesn't wear underwear under his sweats, he is free balling.ย
As for nighttime activities, he tends to relax by playing games on his Nintendo. If he has a headache or heโ€™s feeling averse to loud noises, heโ€™ll recline in bed and read a book. He loves ancient history or science fiction, but any topic can peak his interest. Nine times out of ten though, youโ€™ll find him on his little couch driving Miss Daisy. Before he goes to bed, he brushes his teeth with mint toothpaste and uses an extremely strong minty mouthwash. He wants to be able to take a sip of ice water and feel his brain explode in coldness.ย
Copia tends to go to sleep around 9 on a normal night since he wakes up early to start his day. He sleeps curled up around a pillow, his back to the wall and a pillow between his thighs. He sleeps with a comforter and no top sheet. He does snore, but itโ€™s nasally. This may sound uncomfortable to hear, but itโ€™s very soft and wispy. He sleeps on his side more often than face up. Copia is prone to falling asleep on the couch, and occasionally, with one of his rats curled into the side of his neck. Copia isnโ€™t a light sleeper, and his rats have no fear of their Papa rolling over onto them.ย
His nightstand has some hand lotion, a box of tissues, a glass of ice water, and his reading glasses. He may have some fruit snacks tucked away in the corner of the nightstand if heโ€™s feeling a little snackish.ย

The complete masterpost on how to smell like a Princess ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿงด๐ŸŒธ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ARMPITS
๐ŸŒธ Long armpit hair traps sweat and the smell can be quite noticeable. Wax or nair off the hair (instead of shaving, which causes dark discolouration), or if you don't want to have completely hairless armpits, trim the hair down short with a small pair of scissors.
๐ŸŒธ Know the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant. Deodorant: stops the smell. Antiperspirant: stops the sweat. Some products may do one but not the other, although most do both.
๐ŸŒธ Use a men's deodorant instead of women's deodorant. The antiperspirant is much stronger than in women's deodorant. Old Spice makes nice ones that don't smell particularly masculine despite the brand being associated with men. Old Spice Deep Sea smells like sea salt, Old Spice Fiji smells like coconuts, Old Spice Oasis is sweet and slightly vanilla scented, Old Spice Wolfthorn is sweet citrus, and Old Spice Timber smells like sandalwood.
๐ŸŒธ Apply deodorant after you shower instead of waiting a while.
๐ŸŒธ Apply antiperspirant at night instead of morning so that it has all night to get absorbed
๐ŸŒธ Vanilla extract can be used as a natural deodorant. Because it's alcohol based, it kills bacteria and the vanilla scent stays all day.
๐ŸŒธ Use deodorant as a preventative measure, not a fix for an already-stinky armpit or a replacement for washing.
๐ŸŒธ Use salicylic acid toner on the armpits. This lowers the pH of your armpits to be inhospitable to odour-causing bacteria
๐ŸŒธ Hand sanitiser can be used in a pinch (not regularly though as it's bad if you use it too often)
๐ŸŒธ Washing your armpits with Head & Shoulders shampoo and letting it sit for a bit before rinsing off is really good for getting rid of bad odour due to the zinc in it
๐ŸŒธ Exfoliate your underarms in the shower to slough off dead skin and deodorant build-up that could be making any products you use under your arms less effective. You can use the same exfoliator you use on your face or body on your armpits.
๐ŸŒธ To dry your armpits completely, use a hairdryer, apply deodorant, then dry them again. It will make such a difference, as it gets your armpits completely dry, whereas as towel drying alone can often leave some moisture, which is more likely to make you smell.
๐ŸŒธ If you suffer from excessive underarm sweating, go see your doctor. They can prescribe you an industrial strength antiperspirant which may solve your issue.
CLOTHES
๐ŸŒธ Don't leave your clothes in the washing machine for too long after they've finished washing, this makes them develop a bad smell. Put them to dry as soon as possible after washing.
๐ŸŒธ If possible, use the tumble dryer instead of leaving your clothes to air-dry in winter. If clothes are left for hours and hours and not really drying because it's too cold, they develop a bad mildewy smell.
๐ŸŒธ Dry your clothes outside in the sun whenever possible
๐ŸŒธ Use scented dryer sheets (but make sure the scent isn't one that clashes with your perfume).
๐ŸŒธ An old-fashioned tip is to keep cut up soap and lavender in the same drawer as your clothes. You can just stick a scented soap or sachets with potpourri in the closet with your clothes to make them smell nice.
๐ŸŒธ In hardware stores, you can buy cedar blocks to put in your closet, which as well as making your clothes smell nice, also keep spiders, moths, and centipedes away
๐ŸŒธ Add a capful of white vinegar to the washing machine when you're washing your clothes (no, this won't make your clothes smell like vinegar. It kills unwanted scents and helps remove stains).
๐ŸŒธ Add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, peppermint, tea tree, or eucalyptus to your laundry detergent (you can add some to your dryer sheets as well). Make sure they're clear, light, essential oils, and not dark resiny ones, as that will stain your clothes. You can put a few drops of essential oils on the bottom of your drawer, right on the wooden part too.
๐ŸŒธ You can buy special laundry perfumes to put in the fabric softener department. The scent lasts for ages
๐ŸŒธ Avoid harsh or heavy scented laundry detergent and washing powders. Stick to neutral, light-scented ones
๐ŸŒธ Wear breathable fabrics like cotton, hemp, linen, and silk. This will make more air circulate around your body. Avoid nylon and polyester.
๐ŸŒธ Wash your bathrobe once a week
๐ŸŒธ Spray Febreeze or perfume on the clothes in your closet once a week
๐ŸŒธ Wash any clothes you haven't worn in a while, even if you're not planning on wearing them soon, to prevent a stale smell. It will make your whole wardrobe smell much better
FEET
๐ŸŒธ Wear clean cotton socks. Don't reuse worn socks days in a row
๐ŸŒธ Always wear socks. Not wearing them makes it much more likely for your feet to start smelling bad
๐ŸŒธ Don't wear the same pair of shoes every day, as this can make odour-causing bacteria grow because they don't get a chance to dry out.
๐ŸŒธ If you're staying somewhere overnight, remember to bring a 2nd pair of shoes to change into instead of wearing the same pair twice in a row
๐ŸŒธ Put baby powder on your feet before putting socks on
๐ŸŒธ Always dry your feet thoroughly after washing, including between each toe. This prevents the development of foot fungus
๐ŸŒธ Use foot spray or shoe spray
๐ŸŒธ Scent rises, so spray a little perfume in your shoes or on your ankles
๐ŸŒธ Pat some glycolic acid on the soles of your feet with a cotton pad each morning
HAIR
๐ŸŒธ Spray some perfume on your hairbrush before brushing. Grace Kelly swore by this
๐ŸŒธ Apply dry shampoo the night before instead of the morning of so that your hair has time to absorb it
๐ŸŒธ Hair absorbs scent a lot, so wash it regularly
๐ŸŒธ Add a tiny drop of perfume oil into a few drops of hair oil and apply to your hair
๐ŸŒธ It's obvious, but using a shampoo and conditioner that smells good will make your hair smell good
๐ŸŒธ Consider using a hairspray or hair mist
HOME
๐ŸŒธ Change pillowcases and bedding regularly. Oils, sweat and dead skin cells will accumulate if you go too long using the same sheets.
๐ŸŒธ Open the windows regularly and leave your bed to air before making it once a week. No airflow means your environment will be more warm and sweaty, making it more likely to develop bacteria that makes you smell bad
๐ŸŒธ Light a scented candle or incense regularly so that your home always smells lovely
๐ŸŒธ Have multiple towels so you can use a new one each time you shower. Once a towel is wet, germs start growing, which can make you smell. Clean your towels regularly
๐ŸŒธ Above all, make sure your house is clean. It doesn't matter how many of these tips you follow, if your home smells bad, you'll smell like it. Plus if you bring someone home and your house smells, no matter how good you personally smell, that's the impression they'll have of you. Clean regularly.
MOUTH
๐ŸŒธ Floss after eating. Food particles trapped in between the teeth can make your breath smell bad. Even if you don't notice it, others will.
๐ŸŒธ Use mouthwash after eating or drinking. Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol, as they can dry out your mouth, and your mouth should be moist if you want to reduce bad breath.
๐ŸŒธ Brush your tongue or use a tongue scraper. This gets rid of bacteria that can build up and make your breath smell bad.
๐ŸŒธ Keep a pack of mints or gum in your bag for after you eat or drink out (avoid chewing gum if you grind your teeth or clench your jaw though - it's not good for overworked muscles that need to relax).
๐ŸŒธ Brush your teeth morning and night. Make sure to brush the hard to reach places, like the back molars. And brush for at least two minutes.
๐ŸŒธ Bad smelling bacteria builds up in your mouth if it's dry and saliva isn't being produced, so drink water consistently throughout the day and eat every few hours, even if it's just a small snack
๐ŸŒธ Take probiotics for mouth health to replace bad smelly bacteria with good bacteria
๐ŸŒธ It's not too important, but if you're talking at close range with someone, you'll be able to smell if they have a scented lip product on, so if you want, put on a scented lipgloss, lipstick, or lip balm. My personal favourites are Glossier Birthday Cake lip balm and Fresh Rose Lip Treatment.
๐ŸŒธ Chew a sprig of rosemary or mint after eating, it makes your breath smell clean and herbaceous.
๐ŸŒธ A Princessy mouthwash recipe you can try is putting 60g of dried rose petals in 240ml of rosewater and heating gently for 2 hours, then straining and adding 180ml of liquid honey. As well as making your breath smell beautiful, it also helps to soothe a sore throat.
๐ŸŒธ An underrated tip is to gargle with hot salt water to kill bacteria. This is good when you're somewhere without access to mouthwash.
๐ŸŒธ If you take good care of your mouth hygiene but bad breath persists, you may have tonsil stones. You can extract them by rubbing a Qtip on your tonsil.
SIGNATURE SCENT
๐ŸŒธ Learn your body chemistry. Get a variety of sample perfumes and see what they smell like after 30 minutes, 2 hours, a day. Scent profiles develop and change over time, and a perfume that smells good at first might not after a few hours. See what smells good consistently.
๐ŸŒธ Apply Vaseline or a light unscented lotion to the area where you'll be spraying the perfume to make it last longer
๐ŸŒธ Buy a rollerball of your favourite perfume so you can reapply when you're out and about if the scent of your perfume fades
๐ŸŒธ If possible, spend money on a high end Eau de Parfum. 1 or 2 sprays will suffice, and the scent lasts all day. Sprays from Bath and Body and Victoria's Secret smell nice and all, but fade quickly.
๐ŸŒธ Keep in mind that some perfumes may only be suitable for certain seasons. A light citrusy scent may be fine in summer, but confusing in winter
๐ŸŒธ Scent rises, so rub scented lotion on your legs. If you want you can spray some scent inside your shoes or on your ankles.
๐ŸŒธ Hot skin areas close to your veins like behind the knees, behind the ears, the back of the neck, and on the wrists are good areas to apply perfume. Currently, it's popular in the perfume community to spray on the stomach and forearms too.
๐ŸŒธ If you're sensitive to perfumes, a perfume oil could be a good substitute (in former Ottoman countries, perfume oil is more popular than spray perfume).
๐ŸŒธ Less is more with perfume. Never overspray. It's better for the scent to subtly creep up on people than to overwhelm them. Perfume should be intimate, a beautiful association people make with being close to you (isn't it a lovely idea that nobody will know that your hair smells like rose hair mist until your lover buries their face in it, or that your neck smells like Hypnotic Poison until your lover leans in to kiss it?)
๐ŸŒธ Be aware that people may have sensitivities or allergies to perfume if you're going to be in an enclosed space, for example on an airplane, a cinema, or an office cubicle. It's okay just to smell clean rather than of perfume (Kate Middleton and Megan Markle don't wear any perfume at official state events for that reason).
๐ŸŒธ Don't be afraid to ask other people about their opinions on your perfume. Of course, it's important that you like your perfume, but everyone else around you will have to smell it too. Some perfumes have associations that you may not necessarily want to portray. For example, Victoria's Secret perfumes are often associated with teenagers, and Chanel No.5 is often associated with grandmas. If you love them, you do you, but just keep this in mind if you're wary of creating certain associations with yourself.
๐ŸŒธ Choose moisturising and hygiene products that go well with your signature scent. For example, vanilla or cocoa butter moisturiser with a perfume in the gourmand family of fragrances.
๐ŸŒธ In the same vein as above, you can also choose moisturisers that add dimension to your signature scent, like making a floral perfume smell more summery by using a coconut moisturiser, or making a vanilla scent smell more Christmassy by using a peppermint body wash and lotion.
๐ŸŒธ Don't mix scents that don't go well together. It will smell confusing if you use a warm vanilla sugar lotion with a musky perfume.
๐ŸŒธ Don't overload on too many strongly scented products, it's overwhelming. If your perfume is very strong, use a lightly scented or unscented lotion.
๐ŸŒธ It's okay to have more than one signature scent. The perfume you wear at the office doesn't have to be the same perfume you wear at parties, which doesn't have to be the perfume you wear relaxing at home.
๐ŸŒธ It's also okay to have no signature scent, and just pick a perfume that fits your mood on a given day
๐ŸŒธ Try and find a perfume that matches your lifestyle. If you're a minimalist, pick a fresh, light scent, such as Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue. If you love to bake and adore the smell of vanilla, sugar and buttercream, try a gourmand perfume, like Dior's Hypnotic Poison or Ariana Grande's Cloud. If you live an outdoorsy lifestyle, try a woody scent like Santal 33 by Le Labo. Your scent should match your vibe, if you're not naturally a party girl or a chic lady, don't try to fake it with perfume, it will just be confusing.
๐ŸŒธ Don't pick a perfume you don't personally like just because someone else recommends it, like wearing a scent you find grandma-like just because someone said it will make you smell Old Money. You're the one who has to smell it all day
๐ŸŒธ Spray a little perfume on your hair and wrists before going to sleep to feel soft, pretty, and luxurious, like a Princess or an Old Hollywood star
๐ŸŒธ A tip from exotic dancers is to spray perfume right after showering, moisturise, then spray the perfume again to really lock in the scent
๐ŸŒธ Read books like The Secret of Scent by Luca Turin, Fragrance and Wellbeing by Jennifer Peace Rhind, and Scent and Subversion by Barbara Herman to understand the science of scent and what smells great from the point of view of a perfume expert.
๐ŸŒธ If you want free samples, try e-mailing a perfume house saying you've seen a promo of their perfume and would be interested in a complimentary sample (send your address too). Usually they read lots of complaints, so they'll be glad if they can make someone happy (this may not always work with every perfume house though). You can also go to a quiet counter at a boutique and ask for samples of a perfume you want, even tell them that you're young and can't afford much and they'll give away lots.
๐ŸŒธ Science has shown that women are much more sensitive to musk scents than men, so lesbian/bi ladies may want to consider trying a musk scent while on a date. And as for men, they prefer lily of the valley, as well as gourmand scents like vanilla, cinnamon, and oddly, pumpkin and lavender together. [Source]
YONI
๐ŸŒธ Take probiotics
๐ŸŒธ Wear cotton underwear. Avoid tight underwear and underwear with dye if possible.
๐ŸŒธ Sleep without underwear. Letting your yoni breathe is great for achieving an attractive smell
๐ŸŒธ Don't clean your yoni with regular soap. It can throw off your pH, which can cause yeast infections and a bad smell. It's generally okay to use soaps specifically formulated for your vulva, or gentle soaps like Johnson's baby soap or Dove sensitive.
๐ŸŒธ Drink natural 100% pineapple juice and cranberry juice, or buy pills with those respective ingredients in the health store. Even if you don't want to drink it all the time, drinking cranberry/pineapple juice an hour before intimacy will make you taste sweeter.
๐ŸŒธ Instead of using scented feminine hygiene products (which are bad for you), change your pad or tampon regularly. Switch to menstrual cups if possible, as there will be no smell at all (whereas the pads and tampons themselves will start smelling bad if left for too long).
๐ŸŒธ Rub some roll-on deodorant in the crevice where your inner thigh meets your vulva. It develops its own B.O smell (like a leg pit). Deodorant improves the smell immensely.
๐ŸŒธ Make sure your partner has clean hands/a clean mouth before touching you sensually. Also, use a condom if possible, as ejaculate inside of you can mess up your pH balance
๐ŸŒธ Use Dripsticks for post-sex clean-up
๐ŸŒธ Boric acid suppositories after your period help rebalance microbial flora
๐ŸŒธ Use a little water to rinse after you pee. You can buy a peri bottle for postpartum to make it easier
๐ŸŒธ Make sure to only wash your vulva, not inside the vagina. The inside is a self-cleaning oven, and douching or even just inserting a finger with soap is bad for it. Avoid the inner, pink parts of the labia too.
๐ŸŒธ Make sure there's no discharge build-up in your pubic hair
๐ŸŒธ Clean well in-between the folds and under the clitoral hood so that sebum doesn't get trapped
๐ŸŒธ Make sure not to scrub too hard, as it can make soap get somewhere it shouldn't or irritate a sensitive area
๐ŸŒธ Use a hairdryer to dry after showering if you don't have the time to towel off till you're completely dry. It will stop you from feeling swampy and sweaty down there.
UNCATEGORISED
๐ŸŒธ Keep feminine hygiene wipes, hand sanitiser, mini deodorant, mini dry shampoo, mini mouthwash, rollerball of perfume, scented hand cream, etc in your bag to freshen up during the day
๐ŸŒธ It's obvious, but shower at least once a day. If you're having unusually hot weather or live in a warm climate, take a couple of quick showers throughout the day.
๐ŸŒธ Use a very strong soap on your yoni, armpits, and feet, and scrub your armpits/feet very well as they retain scents.
๐ŸŒธ If you sweat a lot during the night, take a light shower in the morning to get rid of the smell of stale sweat
๐ŸŒธ Before your regular shower gel, use an antibacterial soap. It will kill bacteria that can make you smell bad.
๐ŸŒธ Useful websites: Fragrantica, R/Perfumes, R/Fragrance, Parfumo, R/FemFragLab
๐ŸŒธ Take parsley pills. It's like an internal deodorant. And fenugreek pills make you smell sweet like maple syrup
๐ŸŒธ As well as on your armpits, put deodorant under your breasts as well, and anywhere else you may sweat a lot from (if you're spraying in the crease between your thighs and abdomen, make sure you have underwear on).
๐ŸŒธ If you tend to sweat under your breasts a lot, you can buy cotton breast liners that absorb sweat on Amazon
๐ŸŒธ If you're doing all that you can to prevent body odour but it persists, talk to your GP or dermatologist. You may need an antiperspirant stronger than what you can buy in shops, a PanOxyl wash, or even botox injections in your armpits
๐ŸŒธ A tip from Marie Antoinette is to wear perfumed gloves
๐ŸŒธ Don't eat too much onions, garlic, eggs, dairy, alcohol, processed foods, red meat, fast food, or vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli. The smell will seep through your skin (a little is fine, of course). And eat plenty of leafy greens.
๐ŸŒธ Eat more fruit ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ“
๐ŸŒธ Drink mint tea in the morning
๐ŸŒธ An obvious tip, but hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Drinking more water will help you sweat less. Plus fragrance doesn't last as long on dry skin
๐ŸŒธ Avoid drinking too much alcohol or smoking cigarettes
๐ŸŒธ Take chlorophyll supplements
๐ŸŒธ If you tend to suffer from a sweaty face, wear a waterproof mascara and keep a setting powder on you
๐ŸŒธ Most important tip of all: Stay hygienic! You need a good base for any of these tips to work. Spraying perfume and applying scented lotion on an unclean body is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.
๐ŸŒธ And of course you don't have to use all of these tips (if anything, you'll probably end up creating a toxic fume cloud instead of a beautiful scent). Just find a few that work for you and incorporate into your routine.

A Guide to Choosing the Right Shampoo
Tumblr media
1. Understand Your Hair Type
The first step in finding the perfect shampoo is to understand your hair type. Knowing whether your hair is oily, dry, normal, curly, or color-treated can narrow down your options and guide you to the best ingredients and formulas.
Oily Hair: If your scalp tends to get greasy quickly, look for shampoos labeled as "clarifying" or "oil control." These formulas usually contain ingredients like tea tree oil, salicylic acid, or lemon extracts to help cleanse excess oil without drying out your scalp.
Dry Hair: For dry hair, opt for moisturizing or hydrating shampoos with ingredients like aloe vera, coconut oil, shea butter, or glycerin. These will help add moisture and reduce frizz, leaving your hair feeling softer and more manageable.
Curly or Coarse Hair: Curls often need extra moisture to stay bouncy and defined. Shampoos labeled "moisturizing," "nourishing," or "curl-enhancing" often contain ingredients like argan oil, jojoba oil, or proteins to strengthen curls and prevent breakage.
Color-Treated Hair: If you dye your hair, look for shampoos specifically designed for color-treated hair. These formulas are typically sulfate-free and have ingredients that help preserve color, like UV protectants or antioxidants.
Fine or Thin Hair: Lightweight, volumizing shampoos are ideal for fine or thin hair. Ingredients like biotin, rice protein, or keratin help to add volume without weighing down your hair, making it look fuller.
2. Know Your Scalp Needs
Your scalpโ€™s health is just as important as your hairโ€™s condition. Some people experience dandruff, sensitivity, or itchiness, which requires special attention.
Dandruff or Flaky Scalp: For dandruff, look for shampoos with ingredients like zinc pyrithione, salicylic acid, or ketoconazole, which help combat the fungi that cause dandruff. Avoid ingredients like sulfates and alcohols, as these can worsen dryness.
Sensitive Scalp: If you have a sensitive or easily irritated scalp, avoid products with harsh chemicals and fragrances. Choose a gentle, hypoallergenic, or sulfate-free shampoo with soothing ingredients like chamomile, aloe vera, or oat extract.
Itchy or Oily Scalp: If you experience oil buildup with itching, try a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove buildup. Look for ingredients like tea tree oil or peppermint, which have antimicrobial properties and a cooling effect to relieve itchiness.
3. Check the Ingredients List
Certain ingredients in shampoo are best avoided if you want to maintain the health of your hair and scalp. Hereโ€™s a quick rundown:
Sulfates: These are cleansing agents that create lather but can strip your hair of natural oils, making it dry and frizzy. Sulfate-free shampoos are milder and ideal for sensitive scalps, dry, curly, or color-treated hair.
Silicones: Although silicones add shine and smoothness, they can build up over time, making hair feel heavy and greasy. Use silicone-free options if you have fine hair or prefer a lighter feel.
Parabens: Parabens are preservatives used to extend shelf life. They have potential health risks, so many people prefer to use paraben-free shampoos.
Fragrances and Dyes: Artificial fragrances and dyes can irritate sensitive scalps and cause allergic reactions. Choose fragrance-free or naturally scented shampoos if youโ€™re sensitive to these additives.
4. Consider Environmental Factors
Your environment can also influence the type of shampoo you need. For instance:
Hard Water: If you live in an area with hard water, look for a shampoo with chelating agents that can help remove mineral buildup. Chelating shampoos can help keep your hair from becoming dull and lifeless.
Humidity and Dry Weather: Humidity can lead to frizz, so look for anti-frizz shampoos with hydrating ingredients if you live in a humid climate. In dry weather, opt for moisturizing shampoos to prevent your hair from becoming too brittle.
5. Read Reviews and Patch Test
When trying a new shampoo, itโ€™s always wise to read reviews from people with similar hair types and concerns. Additionally, do a patch test to check for any allergies or irritations. Apply a small amount of shampoo on the inside of your wrist or behind your ear and wait 24 hours to see if thereโ€™s a reaction.
6. Balance Your Routine
Finding the right shampoo is essential, but remember that a healthy hair routine doesnโ€™t stop there. Avoid over-washing your hair, as this can strip it of natural oils. You can also benefit from adding a conditioner, a leave-in treatment, or a hair mask, depending on your hairโ€™s needs.
Conclusion
Choosing the right shampoo involves understanding your hair and scalp type, reading ingredient labels, and balancing your routine with complementary products. A well-selected shampoo can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your hair, so take the time to find one thatโ€™s perfectly tailored to your needs.

The Essential Guide to Black Hair Care Products: Nourish, Protect, and Style
Tumblr media
When it comes to hair care, black hair is a world of its own, rich in texture and versatility. Whether you're rocking luscious curls, intricate braids, or a classic fade, the right products can make all the difference in maintaining healthy, vibrant hair. In this guide, we'll explore the best Black hair care products to help you achieve your hair goals while keeping it healthy and stylish.
Understanding Black Hair
Before diving into the products, letโ€™s get a clearer picture of what makes black hair unique.
1. Texture Matters
Black hair can vary greatly in textureโ€”from tightly coiled kinks to loose waves. This diversity affects how your hair behaves, how it responds to products, and how you should care for it.
2. Moisture is Key
One of the most significant challenges with black hair is dryness. The natural oils produced by your scalp have a harder time traveling down the twists and turns of each strand. This is why keeping your hair moisturized is crucial for its health.
3. Vulnerability to Damage
Due to its unique structure, black hair is often more susceptible to breakage and damage. Thatโ€™s why using the right products and maintaining a proper hair care routine is essential for promoting growth and maintaining overall hair health.
The Must-Have Black Hair Care Products
1. Moisturizing Shampoo
A good shampoo sets the stage for healthy hair. Look for a moisturizing shampoo that's sulfate-free. Sulfates can strip natural oils from your hair, leaving it dry and brittle.
Key Ingredients: Opt for products containing shea butter, coconut oil, or aloe vera, as these ingredients provide hydration and nourishment.
2. Conditioner
After shampooing, a rich conditioner is a non-negotiable step. It helps detangle hair, add moisture, and reduce frizz.
Deep Conditioners: Incorporate a deep conditioner into your routine at least once a week. These products penetrate deeper into the hair shaft for more intensive moisture.
3. Leave-In Conditioner
A leave-in conditioner is like a shield for your hair. It provides extra moisture throughout the day and helps with styling.
How to Use: Apply it to damp hair after washing. Itโ€™s perfect for locking in hydration and making detangling a breeze.
4. Hair Oils
Hair oils are game-changers for maintaining shine and softness. They can also help seal in moisture, which is especially crucial for black hair.
Popular Oils: Consider using jojoba oil, argan oil, or castor oil. Each has unique properties that benefit your hair in different ways.
5. Styling Creams and Gels
When it comes to styling, the right cream or gel can help you achieve your desired look without the crunchiness that some products leave behind.
Curl Creams: Ideal for those with natural curls, curl creams define and enhance your curls while keeping them soft and manageable.
Styling Gels: For more hold, consider a gel that doesnโ€™t flake. Look for alcohol-free options to prevent dryness.
6. Hair Masks
Hair masks are your secret weapon for intense hydration. They are typically used once a week or bi-weekly and provide a concentrated dose of nutrients.
DIY Options: You can create your own masks using natural ingredients like avocado, honey, or yogurt, which nourish and moisturize your hair.
7. Heat Protectants
If you use heat styling tools, a heat protectant is essential. This product creates a barrier between your hair and the heat, preventing damage.
Tip: Always apply a heat protectant before using blow dryers, curling irons, or flat irons to keep your hair safe.
8. Scalp Treatments
A healthy scalp is crucial for healthy hair growth. Consider using a scalp treatment or exfoliator to remove buildup and nourish the scalp.
Key Ingredients: Look for products containing tea tree oil or peppermint, which can soothe irritation and promote circulation.
Creating Your Hair Care Routine
Now that you know the must-have products, how do you incorporate them into a routine that works for you?
Step 1: Cleansing
Start with a moisturizing shampoo, followed by a rich conditioner. Remember to rinse thoroughly to avoid product buildup.
Step 2: Deep Conditioning
Once a week, treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment. This is your chance to give your hair the extra love it deserves.
Step 3: Moisturizing and Styling
After washing, apply a leave-in conditioner followed by a styling product that suits your hair type. This will help define your look while keeping your hair nourished.
Step 4: Weekly Mask and Scalp Treatment
Incorporate a hair mask into your routine weekly. Additionally, consider a scalp treatment every couple of weeks to keep your scalp healthy.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Even with the right products, you can still fall into some traps. Here are a few common mistakes to steer clear of:
Over-Washing: Washing your hair too frequently can strip away natural oils. Aim to wash your hair 1-2 times a week.
Neglecting Your Scalp: A healthy scalp equals healthy hair. Donโ€™t forget to care for your scalp as part of your routine.
Ignoring Product Ingredients: Not all products are created equal. Always read labels and avoid harsh chemicals that can damage your hair.
youtube
Final Thoughts: Embrace Your Crown
Black hair is not just a style; it's a statement, a culture, and a part of who you are. By using the right products and maintaining a proper care routine, you can embrace the beauty of your natural hair. Itโ€™s about more than just looking good; itโ€™s about feeling confident and empowered in your own skin.

Essential Oils for Hair Growth: Benefits, Uses, and Cautions
Essential Oils for Hair Growth: Benefits, Uses, and Cautions
Essential oils have become increasingly popular as a natural solution for various health and beauty concerns, including hair growth. These potent plant extracts are known for their therapeutic properties, and many have been shown to promote healthier, stronger hair. Incorporating essential oils into your hair care routine can help stimulate growth, improve scalp health, and enhance the overall appearance of your hair.
Benefits of Essential Oils for Hair Growth
Stimulates Hair Growth: Certain essential oils, such as rosemary and peppermint, are known to improve circulation to the scalp. This increased blood flow can help stimulate hair follicles, encouraging new hair growth and preventing hair thinning.
Strengthens Hair: Essential oils like lavender and cedarwood can help strengthen hair strands, reducing breakage and split ends. They nourish the hair shaft and help maintain the integrity of the hair, leading to longer, healthier hair.
Balances Scalp Health: An unhealthy scalp can lead to hair loss and slow growth. Essential oils like tea tree and eucalyptus have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help combat scalp conditions such as dandruff, itchiness, and infections, creating a healthier environment for hair growth.
Reduces Hair Loss: Essential oils such as thyme and clary sage are believed to help reduce hair loss by balancing hormones and supporting overall scalp health. These oils can also help slow down the process of hair thinning and support thicker hair growth.
Improves Hair Shine and Texture: Essential oils like ylang-ylang and chamomile are excellent for improving the texture and shine of your hair. They help to condition and hydrate the hair, giving it a more vibrant and lustrous appearance.
How to Use Essential Oils for Hair Growth
Scalp Massage: One of the most effective ways to use essential oils for hair growth is through scalp massage. Dilute a few drops of your chosen essential oil with a carrier oil, such as coconut or jojoba oil, and massage it into your scalp for 5-10 minutes. This helps to stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and promote hair growth.
Hair Mask: Create a nourishing hair mask by mixing essential oils with a base like yogurt, honey, or avocado. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair, leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinse thoroughly. This method deeply conditions the hair while delivering the benefits of the essential oils.
Leave-In Treatment: Add a few drops of essential oil to your regular leave-in conditioner or a carrier oil and apply it to damp hair. This helps to lock in moisture, strengthen the hair, and protect it from environmental damage.
Shampoo Boost: Enhance your regular shampoo with essential oils by adding a few drops to the bottle or mixing them with your shampoo during each wash. This helps to cleanse the scalp more effectively while promoting hair growth.
Hot Oil Treatment: Combine essential oils with a carrier oil and warm the mixture slightly. Apply it to your scalp and hair, cover with a shower cap, and leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour. This treatment helps to deeply nourish the hair and stimulate growth.
Recommended Essential Oils for Hair Growth
Rosemary Essential Oil: Known for its ability to improve circulation, rosemary oil stimulates hair follicles and promotes hair growth. It also helps prevent hair thinning and graying.
Peppermint Essential Oil: The cooling sensation of peppermint oil increases blood flow to the scalp, which can help promote hair growth. It also has antimicrobial properties that can improve scalp health.
Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender oil is known for its ability to calm the scalp and reduce stress, which can contribute to hair loss. It also helps promote hair growth by improving circulation.
Tea Tree Essential Oil: Tea tree oil is excellent for treating scalp issues such as dandruff and itchiness. Its antimicrobial properties help to cleanse the scalp, allowing for healthier hair growth.
Cedarwood Essential Oil: Cedarwood oil balances the oil-producing glands in the scalp, reducing hair loss and promoting stronger hair growth. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties that can improve scalp health.
Thyme Essential Oil: Thyme oil is known for its ability to prevent hair loss by improving blood circulation to the scalp and promoting hair follicle health.
Cautions and Considerations
Dilution: Essential oils are highly concentrated and should always be diluted with a carrier oil before applying them to the scalp or hair. Undiluted essential oils can cause irritation, redness, or allergic reactions.
Allergies: Perform a patch test before using any essential oil on your scalp or hair. Apply a small amount of the diluted oil to your inner arm and wait 24 hours to ensure you do not have an allergic reaction.
Pregnancy and Medical Conditions: Pregnant women, nursing mothers, and individuals with certain medical conditions should consult a healthcare professional before using essential oils. Some essential oils can have contraindications or interact with medications.
Overuse: Using too much essential oil can lead to scalp irritation or build-up on the hair. Use essential oils sparingly and according to recommended guidelines.
Conclusion
Incorporating essential oils into your hair care routine can be a natural and effective way to promote hair growth, improve scalp health, and enhance the overall appearance of your hair. However, itโ€™s important to use them safely and responsibly, keeping in mind the necessary precautions. With consistent use and the right techniques, essential oils can help you achieve stronger, healthier, and more vibrant hair.

current wash day routine (april 2024)
Now that I have an official wash day routine with products that work for me, I'm documenting it for consistency ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Taking down a protective styleย
The first step is to take down my protective style. I've been keeping my hair in mini twists during the week and then taking them down before wash day. It's a great low-manipulation hairstyle and keeps my hair looking neat.ย
I haven't found a specific detangling product yet although I do know that they exist. Currently, I like to first carefully unravel my twists, spray my hair with the KeraCare Curlessence Moisturising Coco Water and then apply a leave-in conditioner.ย
I always do this in sections and the addition of these water-based products softens my hair and makes it easy to manage during the process. This also prevents breakage as the hair is easier to work with wet compared to dry.ย
After my hair is detangled, I twist the separated sections and then cover my hair with a satin bonnet.
Pre-shampoo & shampooing
As a pre-poo treatment, I use Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Pre-Treatment. This is a pricier product but I have seen a difference in my hair strands since using it.
I drench my hair with water and then apply the treatment to each section, leave for 5 to 10 minutes as instructed and then wash out.
A pre-poo treatment stage has helped very much in length retention. Making sure that my hair is detangled and sectioned into twists makes the wash day process much easier too.ย
I cleanse my hair and scalp with the Simply Nourishing Black Soap Shampoo by Kiya Cosmetics. One of the best shampoos I have tried. The peppermint and tea tree oil stimulate and clean the scalp and hair strands.ย
Deep conditioning
I regularly have a deep condition for up to half an hour. I also apply an oil blend and brush it through from root to end.
My favourite deep conditioner to use right now is the Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask. The oil I add is again by Kiya Cosmetics called the Hair Strengthening Oil.
Leave-in conditionerย
After washing the deep conditioner out, I apply a leave-in to each strand and braid my hair up so it can air dry.
The Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk is the best leave-in conditioner I've used so far. The product soaks right into my hair and the smell of vanilla is gentle yet pleasing.ย

I took my braids out and washed my hair New Year's Eve which was super fun (read: divided timing because of work and family event but relaxing and mentally freeing overall)
Straight out, I twisted my hair up for workโ€”because someone decided to take their hair out after midnightโ€”and finger detangled to get rid of product build up and any lint. I used a moisturizing milk from Eden Bodyworks that held my twists for my work day until I could get home.

I'd say I had about an inch of growth from this style. Note, this was my hair still unwashed! I had just taken the twists out and they were dry but not terribly so.
I did a full treatment routine of deep and protein conditioning. First I sectioned my hair into 4 large pieces, shampooed, and then used regular conditioner to detangle my hair under running water with a wide tooth comb. I then mixed a strengthening conditioner with an anti-breakage conditioner, left on for a bit of time, and washed out.
For as much frizz as I normally have, this was actually apretty good cut down even after some drying and shaking. The trim I did before the braids also made a big difference. My colored hair has also been healthy since first bleached and dyed, and I didn't retouch it this time.
(straight out the water) Shrinkage was in FULL effect with the natural shrunkenhawk ๐Ÿคฃ which is good for the state of health!

Some curls and kinks I managed to catch after t-shirt drying my hair

All the products I used were from EDEN Bodyworks (I live the peppermint line... As you may know I just love putting peppermint in my hair ๐Ÿคฃ)

The moisturizing hair milk was the first time I tried it and it was great in keeping my hair moisturized for an entire day even without shampooing first. I did use it as my leave in after my wash and my hair felt great. The massaging serum I used every week more or less when I had my braids it. That's another one I tried for the first time and it seems really good too.
I did plan to blowdry but... Family event... So instead it's a braidout type of week!
