He wasn't running.
It's what he tells himself when he hastily exited his own room. Back pressed against the door, his hand on his chest. He wonders if hearts should be able to beat this hard. Because his feels hell bent on breaking out of his own chest.
It's not the first time they kissed. Far from it really.
He Tian has developed a habit. And although Momo goes near ballistic every time it happens, he doesn't exactly stop him. He knows He Tian knows this. Momo pretends but everyone and their grandmother knows he wears his heart on his sleeve. People just choose to ignore it.
So he knows. He Tian is aware of the fact that he gets overwhelmed. That he fights himself about wanting this, if he deserves it, if he could have this. And that's why He Tian always makes it clear to him that yes, you can, if you'll let it.
He Tian's shit at masking his emotions as much as Momo. Or maybe he's just good at reading He Tian now. Still, the wordless exchange earlier had been too much.
Too much to process. Too much to feel. Too much that he feels he'll burst if he stayed any longer. Or he'll never be able to stop. Or want it to end.
So okay, maybe he was running away. But not from He Tian. Well, maybe from He Tian. But not in the sense that he used to run away.
Fuck. That kiss really did a number on him.
He buries his face on his hands and nearly screams except—
"Are you okay, sweetie?"
He hopes his face isn't as red as it feels. "Y-Yeah, I'm good, Mama." There's a look on his mom's face that tells him she doesn't believe him. That she knows something but won't say a word.
"If you say so," she just says. "You should get He Tian to wash up. He'll sleep a lot better that way."
Momo nods. Not able to trust his voice. She turns around to leave, but she glances back. She taps her lips, and smiles. She leaves her son stunned, face burning and something far more gentler and warm blooming in his chest.

Andando verso la metro, sono passata davanti al solito baretto sfigato che c'è sotto casa mia. Ricettacolo di personalità bizzarre e spesso moleste, stamattina ospitava, ad un tavolino prospiciente il marciapiede, tre vecchiettini grinzosi che giocavano a carte.
Al mio passaggio alzano tutti e tre la testa e seguono il moto del mio oltrepassarli. Li guardo appena con la coda dell'occhio, da sopra la spalla sinistra, forse nemmeno se ne accorgono.
"Che bella ragazza" mi raggiunge alle spalle, delicato come una carezza. Mi giro, faccio due passi verso di loro, che mi pensano forse arrabbiata e sul punto di investirli con il dolore collettivo del corpo femminile e quindi il vecchiettino grinzoso e delicato aggiunge subito a mo di mani alzate - che forse gli fanno troppo male le spalle per dare carne a quella difesa che deve affidare solo alle parole - "assomigli a mia nipote".
"E come si chiama sua nipote?"
"Adelaide, vive in Germania, la vado a trovare con mia sorella e suo marito tra una settimana. Non la vedo mai..."
"Beh le auguro un buon viaggio, signor...?"
"Giustino"
"Bene signor Giustino, faccia una buona vacanza e dia un'abbraccio ad Adelaide anche da parte mia"

Games Report 06/20/23
Hello everyone! Before we get into the meat of this week's dev report, today's guest artwork of Shaun Durand-Coffer and Moon Pie is by Coda Blue, a black games developer we commissioned to commemorate Juneteenth 2023!
We're also breaking a bit of convention today: it’s Sauce here to do some talking about a frequent (and valid) concern/question we get from fans.
Why so many projects at one time?
There are a lot of reasons that go into it and it’s kind of difficult to break down casually. But I’ll do my best to use the analogy of a relay race with batons!
Each project (Sunny Day Jack, The Groom of Gallagher Mansion, AphroDesia, and DacahaBo) largely has its own team, meaning that Writer A is assigned to Project A while Writer B is assigned to Project B and so forth. In a single Project, when the Writer is done with the script, they pass the baton to the Artist (usually me, in this case) to draw additional art like CGs to accentuate key scenes, while an Editor works to tighten up the sentence structure and spot missing plot points (a Musician may be working at this time as well). After editing is complete and art is at least underway, Programmers and Voice Actors can begin on their tasks. As we near completion, Programmers, Audio Engineers, and Beta Testers make sure the package is nice and tidy for everyone to enjoy.
At least, that's how it goes in an ideal situation.
When you’re working on a production, a large amount of variables (defined as an "element, feature, or factor that is liable to vary or change") are in play. Some of those variables might look like:
When does this team member get off from college, their day job, or other life commitment?
When they're done with those, how much personal time do they need in order to take care of themselves, or even recuperate?
What happens if the person actively working on something has a chronic illness flare-up, gets sick, or has something else preventing them from doing their assignment?
What happens if this person isn't openly communicating about delays in delivering work?
What happens if we can't contact someone because they're not responding to our inquiries?
What if we need to remove someone from the team, or someone we were counting on leaves voluntarily?
What happens if work that was "completed" and already paid for needs to be scrapped entirely and redone from the ground up?
Does someone else from Project C need to fill in and work on Project A to help them catch up?
Does someone assigned to one role in a Project need to take on multiple roles to help the entire team catch up?
Even from this short list of potential hurdles we might face during production, it seems like an easy solution would be to eliminate someone's time spent on outside life commitments! Except, it's not: even BáiYù can't quit his day job because in America, traditional employment often offers healthcare as part of their employee benefits and SnaccPop Studios is nowhere close to being able to provide a full living wage for everyone working with us. Maybe one day! But we’re not quite there.
So as you can imagine, sometimes there will be periods of time when an entire group of people aren't working because they don't have the baton quite yet since the person holding the baton is being held up by life. And this isn't their fault by any means, but a lack of communication about that makes it harder for us to estimate when any single relay race will be complete.
So how do you keep a Patreon filled with content?
We are very fortunate and grateful to receive a lot of Patreon support, especially after our SDJ Kickstarter! But getting all those funds is a huge responsibility. You should attempt to keep it stocked. And that’s what we attempt to do.
SP is made up of different teams suited to each individual property. Different programmers, different writers, etc. Each team is tasked with getting a set amount of work done, and between all the variables listed above sometimes we have really good months and sometimes we have pretty dry ones. Keeping all these teams moving together helps us to put out content while say, a writer is out with COVID and SDJ needs to pause for a week. TGoGM had a technical error that saw the game needing to be rebuilt in a new engine. And at the moment, AD is currently sans an audio drama writer.
These are frustrating problems and we're working on fixing what's in our direct control. But we understand that we also have to USE the money we receive visibly or else people ask us where the money is even paying for. And while we make an effort to put away savings responsibly, we can’t just accept large amounts of money without providing a product, or portions of one, in return.
The "Boring Bits"
There’s also in productions portions I like to call “Boring Bits”. These are moments where everything being done is just exceptionally boring to show off. Either it’s programming and bug fixing, or it’s deep lore writing and scripting we can’t show due to spoilers, or something else like that.
At those times all we CAN say is we’ve been fixing bugs or writing. BáiYù and some of the other team members could give an explanation of what's going on during those times but most of us can agree that it's not as enjoyable as something like a new pin-up or an audio drama.
Sometimes to say more would be a spoiler, or we can’t say anything else. Sometimes, it's all a waiting game.
At the beginning, waiting was the hardest part. It could take anywhere from two weeks to months to get back recordings or audio or art. And we have to respect why these things happen. When it’s an instance of slow delivery, we can ask for more clear deadlines or pay a rush fee, but other than that it’s just a long wait.
So, while we waited, we tried to find other means of providing entertainment.
Productions featuring groups of people all over the world, with very different lives, is extremely difficult. But sometimes people who provide quality work require that bit of patience.
So where is everything in the relay race?
At the moment, the status of our projects is as such:
Sunny Day Jack
SDJ is still being mapped out due to the inclusion of Nick as a love interest, as his character becoming more permanent changes several things in the narrative with the other love interests. To help speed things along, we've asked Gil Finnegan (he/him) from the DachaBo team to work with Biscuwuit to split the character route workloads.
It’s a large game, and their work includes labeling every individual scene as well as planning all the programmable variables. We can’t share ANYTHING more than what we have already shared on Kickstarter and Patreon. No new art assets are prepared because they’ve either been made (BGs, GUI) or we don’t how many sprites we need for the full roster until the plot is reworked completely. We can’t give script pages because of spoiler reasons.
We anticipate that a more robust report cycle will begin appearing once we get to scripting, but as a VN writing is a heavy and very important portion of the game that requires this narrative planning, sensitivity editing, and retcon checking. We will likely be in the writing portion a lot of 2023, which was expected since the game is intended to release in 2024.
Sleepy Time Jack
STJ is our additional companion app that’s seeing its final updates with the Patreon Exclusive “Jacktor” portion currently in progress. Due to some less-than-ideal cloud storage issues, we had to remake certain assets from scratch. Additionally, Steam is currently giving BáiYù the runaround and making it difficult for him to get the page up publicly, but we think we've figured out why they're complaining about the logo (they seem to be afraid of the "Digital Talking Body Pillow" subtitle not being part of the app's name in the system).
The Groom of Gallagher Mansion
TGoGM is expected to be finished soon, with free NSFW content planned for the future, but not until we’ve given it some time to sit. BáiYù has had to not only perform his usual Producer duties across all of SP, but also take on Writer and Programmer duties in this project to keep it moving due to life circumstances surrounding team members.
DachaBo
DachaBo Classic is being maintained canonically and updated by a largely separate team, but mostly only as a cosmetic and stability update. DachaBo: Barks & Mews proper remains in pre-production (Planning lore, connecting dots, and conceptualizing) until TGoGM sees its first release in English.
AphroDesia
AD is currently planning its audio reboot. But as a lore-heavy series, it’s being taken under consideration very carefully. Audio drama writers are key, and our current writer is prioritizing living expense-crucial work.
The "Re-Pilot" has a full outline written that is about seven pages long, with a script to follow after. Priority will re-shift back to this project once TGoGM and STJ are out the door, with a slowly metered development since it is an audio drama/planned comic. This production is more about assigning duties and waiting than any other task.
What about other projects?
Anything else besides these projects and the Bachelor of the Month series (currently on hiatus) is not an official SP project, and funds do not directly contribute to those projects, as they’re considered personal items by individual members.
As has been mentioned before, I (Sauce) also make personal works. And that’s part of why I’m the one handling this.
Many people still consider me a part of SP from a heading POV. But part of why I stepped down as "Boss" was because at the moment I’m juggling a college education, full or part-time employment, and healing from years of untreated mental health. It was no longer feasible for me to manage all of these things.
BáiYù instead is compensated to handle the business aspects, and is more capable to do so at this time. I help with Patreon art, tier rewards, and additional creative work while he's been the one writing the majority of the updates and dev reports. I also work on SDJ sprite art, and additional art assets (Steam page, GUI, graphics, etc.) but with my free time I have begun to prioritize taking moments to relax with some non-game art.
I have noticed people saying my work outside is SP work, or attributing it as such. I attempted to even use a separate alias to separate the two, but I guess my style is recognizable to a degree and tried to make the best of it by declaring otherwise myself.
Anything not SDJ, STJ, TGoGM, DB, AD, or BotM is not property of SnaccPop Studios. I've invited some of the individual team members to talk about the projects they do in their free time or as parts of other game studios as SP has a wonderful platform thanks to all of you, but always be sure to look for the official SP branding or else risk accidentally affiliating unrelated work with us.
That is such the case for me, and it could very well be that way for anyone else.
In conclusion...
At the end of the day, SnaccPop does its best to balance a busy, worthwhile Patreon and quality projects done by persons whose individual circumstances are acknowledged and respected. And we understand that a lot of things at once can look flighty and unfocused.
We really hope this breakdown helps, and we apologize for any issues that not having one up prior may have caused!
Making art is messy. Confining creative and quality visions to jobs and roles can be at the best of times spontaneous. But we’re happy to be able to employ or use our funding to pay and contribute to the lives of many different types of creatives in many different lifestyles.

DB Classic is being stablized before wide release while DB: Barks & Mews is in pre-production
AD is in pre-production, but the personal circumstances of a key writer are making it a bit difficult!

It happens slower than he anticipated, the hazy atmosphere of comfort, soft yet rough—burdened only by the burning inside him—as Tian takes his time swabbing down his ear, methodical in the way he was about certain things. How he was about Guan Shan.
Mo eggs him on while trying to relax, and his hands clench and unclench around a pillow in a futile effort to extinguish the flare of heat—want—that rages in his stomach, flicking lower as Tian leans closer in to line up the piercing gun in the right place and there's a small click then—
"ah!"
He involuntarily lets out a groan of pain and Tian is quick to soothe, pressing closer still with his hands at his neck, lips brushing gently against his ear. Trying to protest is futile at this point when he can feel the heat rise again, stronger this time, as those soft lips press against the thin skin behind his ear.
Tian's breath is warm as it skims over him, and Guan Shan fights an actual moan along with the blush crawling up his neck. He Tian presses his lips right against him, slowly opening his mouth to lathe his tongue over the spot before nibbling gently at him and Mo feels a shock jolt up his spine.
"He Tian," he tries, moving his hands up, but Tian continues, torturing him with faint kisses.
There's a moment where Tian sucks hard and Mo lets out a groan before protesting once more, "He Tian!"
The other boy finally leans back to look at him, a glazed look in his eyes. An urge to kiss him pokes at the back of his brain, but he can't quite gather the courage this time to pull him closer.
Guan Shan coughs, pulling further back to lay on the bed, "C'mon let's go to sleep."
Tian just nods, his lips slightly parted and Mo rolls his eyes, patting the bed beside him. "Just don't be a chicken dick."
He nods again, crawling up behind him, and Mo isn't surprised when he wraps an arm around him a few minutes later. He sighs but doesn't move, the closeness comforting after all this time.
"Thank you."

Oggi ho mangiato: ravioli, patatine, del pan focaccia, salsicce cotte sulla piastra di uno spiazzo in pietra in cima ad una vertiginosa salita che ho raggiunto a piedi.
Prima di cuocere la carne si è dovuto andare alla ricerca di legnetti tra gli aceri e i pini, si è pulita la griglia cospargendola di aceto che è subito bruciato facendo frizzzzz e fumo.
Ho bevuto del vino, una spremuta d'arancia, poca acqua. Il basso apporto di liquidi era la premessa perché la mia vescica tenesse duro per le otto ore in cui io e lei siamo state via. Non avevo intenzione di fare pipì tra i boschi.
Ho accarezzato un cane; mi sono coperta spiegando per bene la sciarpa; cuore e fiato hanno fatto un po' di fatica. Quando L mi ha chiesto di confermare pubblicamente che aveva il culo gelato a forza di stare seduto sui muretti che abbiamo preso a mo' di panca, ho detto sdegnata che non gli avrei infilato le mani nei pantaloni. Mi sono rimangiata tutto una volta soli noi due in auto.
Ho riso, ho indossato delle scarpe da trekking, ho letto un saggio con la luce del sole che mi baciava la faccia. Nel saggio si riportava il breve scritto di un autore latino: il testamento di un porcellino.
Il maiale, prima di finire grigliato e insaccato, chiede gli venga eletta una lapide (porcella hic dormit), dà indicazione sulle erbe che vorrebbe si aggiungessero per la sua marinatura e lascia in eredità i suoi femori ai salsicciai, i suoi lombi alle donne, ai bambini la vescica, alle ragazze la coda. Le salsicce del pranzo le ho infilate in un paio di panini.
Sono davvero sempre più grassa, un giorno scoppierò come il cocomero più grande del mondo delle cantilene per bambini.

Who came back?
Well, it's likely Morgan...
Sorry to disappoint!
But it's actually good news for us, why? As I've mentioned in past posts, everything from the time of Coda is being repeated.
And that would include the return of Morgan.
We have just seen a repeat of the coda symbol in DD episode 6. It's the first time we have seen it since the episode Coda.
And we saw two of them very close together, twins.
Morgan's return back in season 5 was heavily linked to the Coda, so much so that he actually touched the Coda symbol while being in a Coda to the episode called Coda! Phew...😧 follow that if you can!
I've mentioned how the convergence of signs will proceed Beth's return, and those signs will be the same but inverted to how she left.
So when we see a combination of Grady and Terminus symbolism plus throw in Morgan possibly returning, we know her return is very close.
In other words, what happened in sequence when she left will happen in reverse when she returns.
In the past, Morgan lost his son, causing him to eventually try and track down Rick, leading him to Alexandria.
At present, Morgan in FTWD gained a daughter (Mo) and left the group, taking his daughter to head out and find Rick Grimes. He is heading back to Alexandria once again but with inverted circumstances.
In the Coda of Coda, where Morgan touches the Coda 😁 we see Morgan first on the train tracks to Terminus. He doesn't go because of Rick's sign. This detour leads him to the coda symbol on the tree and he touches it.
After touching the coda, he then goes to a school where he finds music magazines and a Beth lookalike walker, who he stabs in the head.
He then makes his way to the church, but before getting there, he sees this symbol on a tree.
The logical negation symbol basically reverses the meaning of something.
We saw another one of these symbols in episode 502 where Bob gets taken from the church and taken to the school by Gareth from Terminus.
In fact, we see the negation symbol, and then the very next scene is Carol and Daryl taking off in the car to find Beth.
Everything between the two symbols could be considered false and opposite, including Beth's death!
Beth dying between these two negation symbols: = Beth didn't die.
After seeing this negation symbol, Morgan heads into the church, and the first thing he touches is the cross ✝️.
Bob and Morgan follow the same path from church to school but reversed. After they come across the negation symbol.
Now it's very possible that Morgan came across Beth back in the day, and we just don't know about it yet.
I've talked about the White House filming spoilers from season 5 before and how Emily was seen filming at these houses, but we never saw the footage on the show. So it's believed they are holding onto for a flashback sequence when she returns.
But some may not remember, it was also speculated that Morgan was seen filming at night in the same location.
Overall, whatever happens, the fact Morgan is returning to find Rick Grimes means Beth will be coming back too, very soon. As the negation symbol suggests, she will be very much alive.
I am often talking about the use of the biblical last days themes to tell the story. Well, the negation symbol is actually another addition to this.
The prophet Isaiah talks about the negation symbol believe it or not.
Isaiah was known for prophesying about the last days.
In Isaiah 5:20-21 the prophet illuminates the heart condition of those who have become corrupt in their thinking. He states: Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness: Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.
He talks about a time when everything is the opposite to the truth, as in, good is bad and bad is good. AKA the logical negation symbol.
Interestingly, Isaiah says Woe to anyone who does this.
Woe is a term of judgement. Whenever a prophet or Christ uses the term woe, it's to pronounce a bad end and bad death for the object of the woe.
Bob touched the symbol of woe as he leaned against the tree to cry, and in the very next episode, he dies a very bad death.
Gareth walks past the negation symbol and also has a very bad death at the hands of Rick's red machete.
It may not bode well for poor Morgan in the end that he also walks past it. The coda symbol seems to have moved his woe further down the timeline.
In addition to all this, we first see the negation symbol in episode 5.02. The bible verse about the negation is found in Isaiah 5.20, and Bob dies a very bad death in episode 3.
Isaiah talks about those who turn bad to good and good to bad as corrupted in their thinking.
So It's no wonder that Gareth and co receive the Woe as they had obviously become corrupted. Who thinks eating other humans is ok? 😵💫

Quando vedo tornare clienti che sono stati una merda con me penso che forse si sono ricreduti del loro atteggiamenti, che hanno compreso che di aver sbagliato. Poi mi rendo conto che di quell'atteggiamento forse mi sono resa conto solo io, che molto spesso chi è irrispettoso e maleducato non ha l'intelligenza d'animo di comprendere di esserlo stato.
Eppure, lei (sarebbe lunga da raccontare quindi mi limiterò a dire solo queste cose), 'sta stronza che è rientrata mo', 'sta cretina che mi ha trattata come una schiava, che mi ha urlato contro e mi ha fatto dire "Da oggi non farò più sopralluoghi" a discapito di tante altre brave persone, lei mi piace proprio immaginarmela con la coda tra le gambe.

something we have discussed is how dennis was the only one who could understand mac and that's great but can we also discuss how it must feel for mac that no one can understand him
this seems to be accentuated by how off he keeps being about things (offering of war/dennis being shot being "awesome"/being unable to read subtext both with dennis ["figure of speech"] and donald) and how much he's looking for a sense of meaning that he used to find in his identity until s15 made him realize how pointless it was (in a way that reminds me of his crisis in goes to hell 2...), but legacy, history, money and prizes are worth nothing if your heart is not in it.
and in a way I think dennis is coming to the same conclusion which is why he's the only one who can understand mac.
dennis "you're just being honest about how you feel" reynolds, so concerned with authenticity and upset by the perceived lies when it's just his own denial making it that way. that's building the biggest lie of all.
if we're looking for the Point, then the point is to have fun and embrace feelings. Big Mo already showed this.
it's interesting to me how it seems that mac and dennis are working off of each other in the way sunny works as a whole. because if mac is the structure and the text, and dennis is the subtext and the jokes (it's how he's trying to communicate in inflates but it's also the whole reason he comes with mac in madbu), they kinda NEED to be working together for the show to work... they need to find their harmonies, they can't just one or the other lead, they gotta have each other's back.
and also like, a small coda. this season deals so much with nostalgia vs how the past really was, there's so many flashbacks.
becoming aware of denial and reality can feel really upsetting but ultimately it's a positive development.
if "the hair is a lie" chopping off the head isn't the answer, that was the old way of doing things (in times of war... murder, betrayal, beheadings... "we figured out what works a long time ago"), but now we're looking for peace. basically, death isn't the answer. building your legacy doesn't have to be like pulling teeth. "this doesn't have to be a scam"
it's a good thing if we start seeing things for what they actually are, because it means less denial.

I was today years old when I found I found out that your iPhone alarm rings for 15 minutes straight if you don't snooze it or turn if off lol
Basically, I realized that I forgot to turn off the alarm before I got up so I was already out of bed, fresh off the shower, and doing skin care when it rang!

I swear, every time it got to the coda part I felt like Sakuragi's dunk was inching closer and closer to the ring at mini increments (like how in the anime they slow-mo JUST ONE whole shot into one episode (or more) with numerous flashback inserts lol)
Anyway, it served its purpose though!
It really pumped me up before any caffeine could, and really gave my day a fresh start!

Siccome questa risposta sarà per te una delusione, ti racconto una storia, a mo' di risarcimento danni e anche perché, non ci crederai, questa domanda è stata anche l'argomento del mio attuale pranzo con un collega.
Correva l'anno 2012, e io prendevo l'aereo di Novembre (cu' 'nu cazz 'e fridd) per andare a Berlino, alla mia prima pseudo-conferenza sul C++, i Qt Developer Days, una conferenza che durava 3 giorni, se non ricordo male, di cui il primo tutto incentrato sul C++11, uno standard da poco diventato produttivo.
Il nostro "prof" era nientepopodimenoche Marc Mutz, che potete ammirare in questa foto con la camicia bianca e la coda di cavallo
Ad inizio corso si fa prestare un portatile da uno dei ragazzi seduti in prima fila, per proiettare le slide e fare qualche demo. Embè, desktop muto, colore neutro, niente icone, nessuna taskbar, nessuna reazione col mouse, nessun tasto che attivasse alcunché. Lui prova a fare qualche azione, senza ottenere risposta, ad un certo punto in preda alla disperazione si rivolge al proprietario e gli fa "senti, si può aprire un cazzo di terminale qui sopra?", il ragazzo arriva, tipo preme 3 o 4 tasti insieme a mo' di accordo di pianoforte e si aprono una fraccata di terminali. Marc lo guarda e lo manda affanculo.
Tutta 'sta manfrina per dirti che io preferisco essere come Marc, ovvero diventare un genio nella conoscenza pura, ma non mi ammazzo la salute con 1000 gadget da nerd, quindi so di lasciarti tanta amarezza su questo punto, ma ho una tastiera Amazon da 10 euro, mouse Cherry e un monitor tipo schiaffo sul lato quando non prende bene la Rai.

Commentary
to-no - thornos - "throne." This would be θρόνος in Classical Greek. The difference between /-or-/ and /-ρο-/ isn't necessarily surprising and is likely just a result of liquid metathesis - a random sound change. This liquid metathesis in also seen in Cypriot θόρνα. An example of θρόνος not undergoing liquid metathesis in Mycenaean in seen in the word to-ro-no-wo-ko, meaning chair-maker. In to-ro-no, a dummy vowel o is used to separated the consonants t and r. This shows that r is part of the onset of the syllable, rather than part of the coda (in which case it would be omitted from the transcription).
we-a2-re-jo - weharejo - "rock crystal"? The e-jo suffix shows that this is an adjective of material. This could be related to Greek ὕαλος, which means "rock-crystal." This material was commonly found during the Aegean Bronze Age, with a rock-crystal inlay having been found on a Knossos gaming board. However, this would reconstruct as hualeyos, not wehaleyos? Although we cannot directly reconcile it, this appears to be the most sensible option - we-a2-re-jo has to be a material. ὕαλος is not a Greek word and is most likely a loan word. The initial syllable /hwa/ is not a Greek phoneme and so we-a2 may have been a way of conveying both the aspirated component and the labial component.
a-ja-me-no - "inlaid." This appears to be a perfect passive participle aiaimenos. This has no Classical Greek correspondences, but, from context in both this tablet and several others, seems to mean "inlaid." This participle is nominative singular agreeing with to-no.
ku-wa-no - kuwano(i) - "blue glass (paste)." Related to English "cyan." This is a dativeor instrumental singular - the indirect object of a-ja-me-no. Classical Greek κύανος. Possibly from Hittite kuwannan (copper, blue, precious stone).
pa-ra-ku-we-qe - parakuwe(-kwe) - "(and) emerald." pa-ra-ku-we has no Greek relatives. The -we ending makes it clear that this is a u-stem noun in the dative or instrumental. In another tablet, we have the adjective pa-ra-ku-ja as an adjective describing cloth, whilst we also have *56-ra-ku-ja, which may be an attempt to approximate a non-Greek phoneme (/b./). pa-ra-ku-we seems to be related to Akkadian barraqtu, which means emerald. The *b phoneme that is seen in Classical Greek is not of Proto-Indo-European origin and is generally a result of the voiced labiovelar *gw, as seen in *gwou- (qo-u in Mycenaean).
ku-ro-so-qe - khruso(i)-kwe - "gold." Related to Classical Greek χρυσός.
o-pi-ke-re-mi-ni-ja - opikelemnians - "carrying poles?" This is a first declension accusative plural, acting as an accusative of respect. o-pi is equivalent to Classical ἐπί with Ablaut variation. ἀμφικελεμνις means "sedan chair." This may therefore mean "carrying pole" or similar.
a-di-ri-ja-pi - "pictures of men." Instrumental plural -pi. ἀνδριας in Classical Greek means "pictures of men."
se-re-mo-ka-ra-o-re-qe - seiremo-krahore-(kwe) - "(and) a siren's head." seirem- is most likely the equivalent of Classical Greek σείρην, with Mycenaean being prior to the change of word final /m/ > /n/ in Greek. krahore- is the instrumental of kraha (related to the poetic term κάρα - "head").
po-ni-ki-pi - phoinikphi "palm trees." This is largely agreed to mean "palm tree" (Classical Greek φοῖνιξ), but could potentially mean "date" or "phoenix."
ta-ra-nu - thranus - "foot-stool." Related to Homeric θράνυς.
ko-no-ni-pi - "cross-bars?" Feminine instrumental plural. Perhaps related to Classical Greek κανονίς - "cross bar" - but the vowels o not necessarily match up.

- The most New York Afghan Whigs album? (“Citi Soleil” inspired by a city cab driver, “Omerta” makes mention of shuffling off to Buffalo)
- The Twilight Singers is for women. So is 1965. In this essay I will,
- When Mo Troper said “power pop is camp” he was right. Because camp is a combination of performativity + reflexivity + a sincere and deliberate excess that transgresses the boundaries of “good taste.” The Afghan Whigs also deal in shades of camp, but this gets ignored by the majority of the fanbase because straight male 90s rock fans run a fetish cult for “authenticity” and will read a disturbing literalism into theatrics and affectations. I’m tired of talking about the same old sleaze and swagger to the exclusion of its essential counterpart and that is humiliating abjection.
