I gave up the FA, but if the Yankees miss Soto...
If the New York Yankees lose Juan Soto (26), the biggest free agent, there is a possibility that they will seek former MVP Cody Bellinger (29) of the Chicago Cubs as an alternative. 피나클가입 As Soto is in a mood to leave the Yankees, it is becoming a realistic scenario. Randy Miller, a reporter who is in charge of the Yankees at the U.S. "NJ.com ," announced on the New York regional sports radio "WFAN" on the 1st (Korea time) that Soto's 해외배팅사이트장단점 leading destinations have been narrowed down to the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets. With the Toronto Blue Jays also going all-in, he said, "The Yankees seem to appreciate Soto, but I don't think it will go up to 600 million dollars. I heard that they will probably offer the highest amount within the range of 550 million dollars." It is difficult to meet Soto's expectation for a contract worth at least 600 million U.S. dollars. 메이저사이트 This reflects the situation of the Yankees, who are ranking second in terms of payroll (total annual salary of a team) next year, but if Soto leaves, it will be a big blow to his team's strength. It is not easy to fill the gap of the core that led the batting line with Aaron Judge, the "homer king." Against this backdrop, if Bellinger enters the trade market, the Yankees can rush in. The U.S. MLB Trade Rumors dealt with Bellinger's trade potential on Tuesday, citing the Yankees as the most suitable team along with the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, and Philadelphia Phillies.

Elly-Mania: Cincinnati Reds rookie sensation Elly De La Cruz. Anyone who follows the Reds can attest there has been a buzz around the team since his arrival. Even Elly had to make sure the California Angel’s Shohei Ohtani was real. Photo: Courtesy of Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball Who is Elly De La Cruz Elly De La Cruz, 21, is a professional baseball infielder - shortstop and third baseman - for the Cincinnati Reds. He signed as an international free agent with the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball in 2018. Then, on June 6, 2023, De La Cruz made his long-awaited debut. He is being billed as the Reds' most anticipated major-league debut since at least Jay Bruce 15 years ago. Elly De La Cruz, affectionately known around the Reds clubhouse as "La Cocoa," went unnoticed in 2018 and 2019. Just the same, the Reds wunderkind and his exciting talents are taking baseball by storm this season. In his seven weeks in the big leagues, the switch-hitting, hard-throwing phenom has proven to be one of baseball's most exciting talents and best young players. De La Cruz's impressive abilities can inflict harm on opposing teams at any time. He ranks in the 99th percentile of MLB players in sprint speed and the 96th percentile in max velocity. He ranks in the 98th percentile in arm strength and 98th percentile in top exit velocity of his bat ball. DOWNLOAD THE URBT NEWS APP Eye on the Ball In 68 games played, in which he has garnered 278 at-bats, De La Cruz has amassed 126 total bases. His total bases include 70 hits, yielding 11 doubles, six triples, and 11 home runs – only two have come right-handed. De La Cruz has batted in 50 runs and reached base on balls on 20 occasions. His six triples this season rank 3rd amongst National League players. He has also struck out 104 times, leaving De La Cruz with a batting average of .252, an on-base percentage of .303, a slugging percentage of .453, and an on-base slugging percentage of .757. De La Cruz's offensive barrage includes hiting for the cycle in only 15 Major League games, a feat not accomplished by a Reds hitter in 34 years. With his accomplishment, the Dominican outfielder became the youngest player in 51 years to accomplish this feat since Cesar Cedeno in 1972. Getting Home, One Base at a Time De La Cruz's physique may remind track and field fans of a legendary Jamaican sprinter. De La Cruz, who stands 6 feet 5 inches tall, is the same height as world-renowned sprinter Usain Bolt, who holds the world records for the 200m and 100m. During his career, Bolt's fastest speed was 27.5 mph. De La Cruz reached 21.75 mph early in his 2023 season. The Reds rookie averages a sprint rate of slightly more than 30 feet per second, which is not the fastest in the MLB. De La Cruz was clocked at 31.9 feet per second in June 2023. Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals and Bubba Thompson of the Texas Rangers had the fastest average sprint speed in Major League Baseball at 30.4 feet per second. Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks, De La Cruz's main competition for National League Rookie of the Year, averaged a faster sprint speed of 30.2 feet per second. "He's just a really electric player," California Angels manager Phil Nevin said of De La Cruz. And he can really run down the line." The electric De La Cruz has successfully stolen 21 bases on 27 attempts (.778). His stolen bases ranks him 14th among National League players in stolen bases. He ranks 4th in number of times caught stealing. DOWNLOAD THE URBT NEWS APP Opened on March 31, 2003, Great American Ball Park serves as the ballpark of Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds. Heart in the Game Is there anything Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds can't do? De La Cruz has proven that he can cause havoc at any time, not just on offense. De La Cruz has started 66 games as a defensive player in 71 games. Of his 66 games started, 29 at shortstop (259.0 innings,.986 fielding percentage), 36 at third base (324.0 innings,.959 fielding percentage). He also started one game as a designated hitter. He made seven errors in 221 total chances, one at third base and six at shortstop. In baseball, total chances represents the number of plays a defensive player has participated in. In the Record Books Hall of Fame second baseman Joe Morgan, a key member of the Cincinnati Reds' famed Big Red Machine, said, "A good base stealer should make the whole infield jumpy. Whether you steal or not, you're changing the rhythm of the game. If the pitcher is concerned about you, he isn't concentrating enough on the batter." With an insatiable desire to help his team win a game, no matter the cost, De La Cruz is doing his part to change the rhythm of the game. De La Cruz is the fastest player in MLB history to reach 10 home runs and 20 stolen bases. He accomplished the milestone in 64 games. Previously, seven-time MVP Barry Bonds held the record. Bonds hit 10 home runs and stole 20 bases in 65 games. The most shocking and notable of his baserunning stats came the weekend before the 2023 All-Star break. De La Cruz stole second, third, and home after the same plate appearance. Only one other player in baseball's expansion era dating back to 1961 has accomplished this feat. Hall of Famer Rod Carew did so in 1969. De La Cruz's arm strength is almost unfathomable. De La Cruz broke the record for the fastest throw by an infielder in the Statcast era (since 2015) on July 16, 2023, with a 97.9 mph bullet against the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2022, Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz set a record of 97.8 mph. Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres is third and fourth at 97.3 mph and 96.8 mph, respectively, while Cruz is fifth at 96.7 mph. Comfort (Re)Reads Recs
It's been a rough couple of weeks, both personally and just *waves hands around* you know, everything. I found myself going back to some of my comfort reads again and again and thought – you know, I bet other people are in serious need of that too.
So here's a handful of some of my favorite comfort reads across a bunch of fandoms. Most are pretty long, or series. Everything has a happy ending, but I like h/c so plenty have some hurt or angst on the way. I put the ones that have the most near that bottom.
For all of them I'd suggest looking at the author's other works too! And if you liked what you read, please tell them that it made your day a bit better. I'm off to do so myself.
Leader Of The Free World, @copperbadge
Marvel (MCU) - Steve/Tony, Bucky/Clint, 15k
Summary: Clint Barton's presidential campaign started as a joke. It didn't end that way, except for Steve.
Sixpence In His Shoe, @scifigrl47
Marvel - Steve/Tony, 100k
Summary: Steve and Tony should really read the fine print on what they're signing. Then again, some mistakes are not really mistakes.
Always Starts the Same, with a Boy and a Girl, lightgetsin
White Collar - Neal/Elizabeth/Peter, 21k
Summary: Summer, 1998. Neal Caffrey robs the gallery where Elizabeth O'Dell is working late, and comes away with a lot more than art. Agent Burke has no idea what's about to hit him.
Take Me Out, @setepenre-set
Megamind – Megamind/Roxanne, 10k
Summary: The Metro City Wolverines are the worst team in the MLB. So Megamind, using the disguise watch to manage the stadium’s illegal betting pool, is understandably shocked when Miss Ritchi (at the stadium on a ‘date’ with Metro Man…and his mother) wants to place a bet that the Wolverines can win against the best ranked team in the league. But then, maybe the luck is turning for all of Metro City's underdogs…
My Heart Comes Tumbling Down, @devildoll
Teen Wolf – Derek/Stiles, 5k
Summary: "This is a casual, adult relationship based on sex, and it is awesome." In which Stiles and Derek have a great time buddyfucking until a burrito ruins it all.
Technical Support, @astolat
Person of Interest – John/Harold, 13k
Summary: The IFT Plaza security team wasn't what John would have called the brightest stars in the firmament. (Written for the tech support AU prompt.)
From Thy Bounty, @ibby-writes
Marvel (MCU) – Tony/Peter, 30k
Summary: Tony’s eyes are always dark, but now there's almost no iris left. He looks hollowed out. There’s something terribly hungry there, despite the feast they've filled themselves on.
Gift of Choice, @everysecondtuesday
Marvel (MCU) – Tony/Peter, 11k
Summary: Tony Stark had a thing about giving Peter stuff.
Feels Like Something, Maybe It Fits, @learned-foot
Marvel (MCU) – Tony/Peter, 7k
Summary: Peter’s still not used to hearing that voice. Four months, and part of him thinks it’s a lie every time.
Better Than, unsettled (yup, it's mine. It feels weird to include it? But it was the comfort reread that set this off, so)
Marvel (MCU) – Tony/Peter, 40k
Summary: Maybe there isn't really a fixed point where it starts, where any of it starts, nothing Tony can point to and say, there, there is where I made my mistake, there is where I could have stopped this, there is where I can stop it from happening again. Maybe it shouldn’t have been something Tony tried to stop. (or: the one where Tony is going to be responsible for once, ok? He is!)
The Swear Jar, @allthemarvelousrage
Marvel (MCU) – Clint/Laura/Tony, 12k
Summary: In the last three months, she’s seen Tony go through a lot of mood changes and shifts of introspection, but she doesn’t think he’s ever been close to leaving. Then again, she doesn’t think he’s actually aware of how intertwined his life’s become with theirs, because half the time, he’s exhausted from Avengers business or exhausted from engineering binges, and the other half of the time, he’s either trading one-liners and witticisms with Clint or coloring with Lila or building things with Cooper or letting Nathan crawl all over him.
This, You Protect, @vmohlere
Marvel (MCU) - Steve/Bucky, 64k
Summary: The mission resets abruptly, from objective: kill to objective: protect
have you heard, peradi
Star Wars - Finn/Poe, Finn/Poe/Rey, 42k
Summary: "I heard FN-2187 was a Stormtrooper."
Transfigurations, Resonant
Harry Potter – Harry/Draco, 71k
Summary: Five years after Voldemort's defeat, Harry returns to England to help re-open Hogwarts.
Something Blue, Lapin
The Hobbit – Bilbo/Thorin, 34k
Summary: Thorin marries Bilbo after the Battle of Five Armies, a marriage of convenience, not love. Slowly, they must come to make the best of it, Bilbo resolves. After all, he's a Hobbit. They make the best of things.
Nothing Gold Can Stay, @bilboo
The Hobbit – Bilbo/Thorin, 296k
Summary: Bilbo Baggins led a rather peaceful life, thank you very much, until an old acquaintance decided to turn it upside down, and he found himself agreeing to take a job that’s… let’s say not exactly up his alley, and might eventually cost him a little more than his treasured cozy lifestyle. Who would have thought tutoring a slightly menacing monarch’s more than slightly overbearing nephew could prove to be such an adventure?
Like a Comet Streaming On, @sineala
Marvel (616)– Tony/Steve, 32k
Summary: Tony escapes Afghanistan with a functioning Iron Man suit and a perfectly normal heart. He even manages to bring Ho Yinsen home safely at his side. But he may as well have lost everything... because his wolfbrother is dead. Six months later, the Avengers find Captain America, frozen in ice, miraculously alive. Everything and everyone Steve has ever known is gone -- except his wolfsister, the recipient of the lupine version of the super-soldier serum, who was frozen in his arms. Tony has everything but his wolf. Steve has only his wolf. This is how their lives fit together.
All Our Secrets Laid Bare, @firethesound
Harry Potter – Harry/Draco, 149k
Summary: Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.
The End Where We Begin, @ingu
Man From UNCLE (Movie) – Illya/Napoleon, 21k
Summary: Illya kills an American spy in Zurich. Three days later, he’s staring into the face of a dead man standing in his hotel room.
A man turns around., spqr
Marvel (MCU) – Tony/Steve/Bucky, 6k
Summary: Liver failure or a lone assassin with a long-range weapon will get him eventually. He doesn’t think it will take too long, now that he’s retired. He wishes death would hurry up. If happiness were coming his way, it would’ve gotten here by now. All that’s left to do is wait. Languish in the "later life" section of his Wikipedia page. Wake up in the morning and go to bed at night. Exist, until it’s over.

I’m looking at MLB Power Rankings and they put the Cardinals at 14 and I’m just like ????? how????? they have like zero chance of even finishing the season at this point??? MLB is living in this fantasy land where you can get rid of COVID in four days or something but it takes weeks? And they have like what, 19 cases?
When the Marlins had their outbreak, they locked out down seriously and went out and signed every free agent possible and got their shit in order, making some strong acquisitions and realizing this shit was serious, taking a full week off.
The Cardinals just keep adding more cases, don’t seem to be taking it serious judging by the comments from their GM, and have they even signed a single free agent??? They have (assuming they even play the next scheduled, un-canceled series) 55 games to play in 46 days. It’s ridiculous and there’s no guarantee the teams they have to make up games with will be available on the days they need them to be available. If I’m making power rankings I put the Cards dead last.
For the record, these rankings put the Pirates dead last, which makes no sense, because as much as I dislike the Pirates, they actually have a whole team.
