Get to know my OCs: Sentry's family dynamic:

Home life following the events of BG3:

Sentry initially set off to help Astarion find a way to walk in the sunlight, but after a few months, the two returned to Halsin's new home so Sentry would rest and take care of himself while pregnant with twins after his time spent with Halsin leading up to the final confrontation with The Absolute. Oso and Lucien were born and lovingly called 'the spring cubs' since they came into the world at the same time as a new generation of bear cubs repopulating the forests around Moonrise.

Astarion generally made clothing and blankets for the twins and little trinkets and expensive toys would find their way into the home, Halsin would make them wooden animals and other things to play with and taught them very early on which fruits and berries were safe and healthy to eat.

Sentry taught the children art, encouraging them very young to play and experiment with paint and pigments, even berry juice or even much to Astarion's chagrin, berry jam or spilled juice.

When Sentry and Astarion are able to adventure again, Halsin very gladly keeps the children with him and teaches them about nature. Oso takes to it immediately and adores nature like her father, but Lucien misses the luxury Astarion provided. Later on, when Sentry and Astarion burn Cazador's mansion to the ground, they rebuild over it and Astarion moves in, Lucien eagerly moving in with him. Sentry visits between the two houses, kind of living in both and the children still see all of their parents, but Lucien trains as a rogue and Oso as a druid.

Meanwhile, Sentry has been secretly trying to find a way to resurrect Gortash and has also reached out to their daughter Rio Ojeda (now called Teela Popsprocket and being raised by gnome artificers in Waterdeep).

Oso and Lucien grow up together with the children of their parents' traveling companions and form a close friend group with them.

just finished it and im so mad it only has 5 eps like I MORE CONTENT AFTER SO LONG

gonna list my fav things and the bad parts here so spoilers

thank god they made the destruction of preternia a big deal and didnt forgot about it like in the end of revelation, teela and lyn working together to try to fix it was a nice sub plot (but i still feel like they didnt know what exactly do to with Lyn at this point)

hordak snorting was too funny, motherboard and him being annoyed by skeletor speaking was funny af also skeletor bringing that present box was great

really liked adam and teela characters, THEY FINALE KISSED LIKE AJAJSJWJSJ it was cute to see them being all flirty and embarrassed, all of their scenes together are adorable, i liked how teela could experience new things. The only thing that bothers me is how good at magic she is in such short time but ok! glad to see more adam but i feel like they could have done a little more with his personal thoughts especially related to his family secrets drama and skeletor being his uncle all this time, also he acts a little bit too innocent and naive for someone who fights skeletor for years now

i thought orko and gwildor was gonna be annoying at first but they had a fun dynamic to me

and as always the animation is beautiful and carries the show LMAOO

what i disliked

the focus on randor was a bit annoying, and they missed the opportunity to make adam conflicted about his dad hiding a big secret like he also did before, skeletor being part of his fam, their final battle was boring...

motherboard deaths was too easy just to get the fight between hordak and skeletor quicker, she deserved a little better after being show to be strong and smart

"keldor" saying he wants the crown then 1 minute later saying he doesn't want it was so?? lmaoo, adam and marlena didnt even discussed if this guy was for real like just trusting him with the kingdom like that...and everyone ok with that? NAH

lyns and granamyr romance thing was so unnecessary for both characters omg

unfortunately, the show is again rushed bc they want to focus on like 5 characters and in an adventure and the others characters need to act stupid and stay silently

i rly wish i'd let myself explore motur ships back when i first watched. some things i rly liked were:

teela/lyn (toxic yuri condemned for the wrong reasons)

teela/andra (the """acceptable""" f/f when allowed to actually deviate from teela/adam)

lyn/beastman (monsterfucker lyn!! and honestly he was so good to her in this version all things considered)

lyn/orko (i do think i liked this as & or more emotional shipping, but i do prefer saying i ship them to weed out the weak... and the potential IS genuinely there)

lyn/granamyr (more monsterfucking <3)

and in terms of more canon stuff, i didn't really mind teela/adam for the most part or one-sided lyn/skeletor, and duncan/sorceress was cute but i think i liked it more after getting the depth 200x gave them.

anyway then some things based less on canon but i thought would be fun were:

lyn/sorceress (if lyn is too old for teela then fine! let her fuck teela's mom. would be funny if lyn did both and had had to realize that.)

lyn/marlena (i had a fic that was going to be shippy but ended up being more of a missing scene)

lyn/duncan (another thing i had a fic for i never finished but i should)

i also wanted skeletor to be the hot robot lady's boy toy for the hell of it.

outside of motur itself and branching into some other stuff, worth mentioning i somehow got WEIRDLY invested in the skeletor/shadow weaver comic and i'm still not sure how that happened.

and lyn/keldor was alright but to be entirely honest i never actually understood it all that much. like i see the potential and i think in a particular way it does make me insane. but i think i was too concerned with deviating from Acceptable Fanon with it since there was so little canon content of him in 200x, and also the fandom scared me generally, so i never explored it to a fun extent.

Only parts of DC's take on MOTU I've read are the crossovers with Thundercats and Injustice (Latter sucked) but I recall one of them opening with Adam fighting Faker inside the Palace and it seeming like that Faker actually did replace him and rule for a bit, due to some civilians commentating afterwards that they preferred how Faker ran things because they "Kept us safe". I like this idea of Faker actually replacing Adam and now having to put their all into playing the role including... 1/3

This is actually one of the things that I feel is missing from several iterations of the franchise, not just DC and Revelation.

Other characters being allowed the chance and time to grow.

In the DC run of the comics, (Eternity War, to be specific), there is a wonderful scene between Adam and Rattlor where Rattlor tells Adam that he values Adam as a leader, and that Adam treats his soldiers with more respect and dignity than King Hiss treated Rattlor. This is a small scene to wrap up an equally small subplot of the Snakemen working with Adam and Teela to liberate Eternia from the Horde.

But imagine if they had allowed that subplot to be a full arc. The Snakemen must come to the difficult decision to work with He-Man against a common enemy invading their planet. Slowly, over the course of several battles, the named Snakeman characters observe Adam's leadership, how he treats his warriors, how he treats his wounded, how he cares for his wounded. And then coming to the big cathartic moment when they finally admit to themselves that their own leader, King Hiss, was not a good ruler. Then growing to be comfortable enough with this revelation to be able to tell Adam himself! To tell their former enemy, He-Man, enemy of the Snakemen, that he is a better leader than the Snakeman king. Gosh I would have loved it if they gave us an arc like that!

Or in the 2002 reboot, we know so little about all the Masters aside from Adam, Teela, and Man-at-Arms! We know Ram Man fought with Randor during Keldor's rebellion because we see him in the flashback (although he has no speaking lines), and we know he is afraid of the dark because they make it a plot point in one episode, and we know that he can be seduced by singing and magic because that was also a plot point in another episode. But 2002 doesn't even tell us his name! Ram Man is an ensemble cast member who appears in more than half of the 2002 episodes, yet he's so underdeveloped that the 3 facts I just listed about him are all we know about him in 2002. Imagine if they had developed him more! Why is a grown man in his 40s afraid of the dark? Not just afraid of the dark, but paralyzed with terror of the dark? How did he become one of Randor's warriors? He's clearly not as well educated as the other Masters, is he from a poor family? Did he join the military for financial opportunities? Ram Man is just one example, but truthfully, all the ensemble cast needed more attention.

In the Classics-Line the situation is even worse! Most of the lore from Classics-Line isn't even in the comics! Most of the lore from the Classics-Line is given to us in interviews with Scott Neithlitch. There's a couple panels in one of the Ultimate Battlegrounds where we see that Man-at-Arms has been transformed into a Snakeman and the dialogue implies that things have been this way for a while. But this is the first the reader ever sees of Snakeman-at-Arms, and then he dies in the same scene. Teela is shown having a very emotional scene where she cries over her father's dead body for 1 whole panel, then Snakeman-at-Arms is never discussed or mentioned again. But imagine if that was a full length arc we could have gotten. How amazing would that have been?

Anyway, back to your original Ask: I would love to read a series about Faker impersonating King Adam and growing as a person either by choice of necessity. Since canon will never give us what we want, I encourage you to write it yourself! Take that passion and write it into a fan fiction!

now that I have mostly calmed down from the rage at technology, here is what I was trying to post yesterday:

Okay so I've seen He-man before right? I did not really like it all that much. I tried the earliest versions, didn't like it. I saw the 2002 series and thought it was okay. I saw the anime looking one from 2021 and thought it was funny (Mark Hamill you genius). and I've seen she-ra the reboot (gay as hell my favorite fuck yea) and tried the og series for that too.

now when I looked at the 3d looking animated one you would think "you wouldn't get into it if the others didn't do it for you" and normally you would be right.

I really do hate the way he-man looks

just

the disproportionate body I hate it so much. his arms are way too buff and his legs far to skinny to be capable of supporting an upper body mass that insane.

I do not like it.

BUT

but

I surprised myself because despite that I did end up liking it because of the storyline.

like who came up with this? oh my god? it perfect?

Adam is related to skeletor, skeletor at first is a Twink with a cursed bone hand (mozenrath looking fucker) then when he gets even more cursed he somehow buffs out and loses more skin? like how does that work?

Adam has memory loss and has been missing for ten years. the second he learns he's royalty he's like 'hell no I don't want shit to do with that' hes so real for that honestly.

cringer is like his dad? he has an adopted sister who is also cringer's other child?

cringer not having his claws because they were stolen by a poacher because he refused to fight to the death in his slave fighting rings? Cringer keeping the name cringer because he finds strength in what he did? there's a slavery recovery arc going on there and I love it.

cringer calling Adam and krass his cubs? omg?

randor grieving still years later and not being the best king? him learning Adam is alive? him following teela to the underground and learning about people he didn't know existed or that he was unintentionally neglecting? seeing everything that slipped through the cracks? him trying to change to do better by his people? god tier.

everyone in the group is adorable and doing their best.

the dynamic between everyone is hilarious. especially skeletor and adam

also it is not a secret to skeletor to random that Adam is he-man. I find that an interesting choice and they make it work.

besides the disproportionate he-man, my only complaint is that they kept jumping from arc to arc, it was too fast paced and tried to fit so much that it felt like some storylines came out of nowhere. each season only had like 8 episodes each so they were trying to fit it all in. if they had the normal season if maybe 20-25 episodes they could have fixed their pacing and resolved arcs and storylines better and gone more in depth with their characters.

that said for the time they did have they did great with their characters.

Not long enough if you ask me.

1. I think she’d miss the simple things. On Earth she wasn’t royalty so she got to be a regular person and relax a lot more. She probably misses quiet days of not having to worry about attacks. (Probably also misses when she didn’t have to fight magic).

2. While she does miss not having to fight magic I think she's also entranced by everything on Eternia. Remember the first party Adora goes to in 2018 She Ra? That's Marlena's first week on Eternia.

3. She'd probably make a beeline for NASA. I can see Adam and Adora loving arcades while Teela and Catra love video games. She probably also takes them some well known places like New York, the Grand Canyon, etc. (Catra is beyond freaked out by the stray cats)

4. I think she tells them stories where they need background information to understand it. Like she tells the about one Halloween party, but ends up having to explain what Halloween is and how it works. (Adam knows one curse word and he learned it from one of his mom's Earth stories) (I think it's canon in the 80s universe that she taught them/Eternia about Christmas).

That's a lot of chaotic energy in one room. A lot of reluctant partnerships between rivals after some needless fighting. Villians get petty, heroes get sassy, and a whole lot of bickering. Frosta has just clung onto Adam like Toph with Zuko in Avatar, she likes being heard by someone who talks and treats her in a non condescending way and Adam doesn't mind. Orko snaps and is cussing people out (who, I don't know, I just think my boy deserves to) Catra isn't happy and she is going to make it everyone's problem. Teela is trying to handle the situation accordingly, but to her frustration, she is stuck with Perfuma and Entrapta and Mermista, goes about as well as it did with Adora. Speaking of Adora, she meets Stratos and Ram Man/Ma'am (I think either would have an interesting interaction) and learn to get along quickly, both having competitive and stubborn personalities and it's starting to annoy Stratos. Duncan and Scorpia actually are faring the best together, the two have hearts as strong as their might. Skeletor has deemed Netossa to be a threat and Spinerella to be the cinnamon role (hint, he's got that backwards) Glimmer and Evil-Lyn torment each other in their own ways but are a force to be reckoned when working together. Bow, Sea Hawk, Swiftwind, and Man-E-Faces have unfortunately formed a quartet.

There's probably characters I've missed and I've worked off versions of these characters that I think work best together (He-Man 200x, She-Ra 2018, He-Man CGI currently in my brain)
