Happy birthday to @the-lone-huntress!!! Even though I do actually love this pairing, I’ve never created anything for them. What better occasion than your birthday to finally pop my MirKag cherry 😉

They defeated Naraku and once the dust had settled they’d found they’d BOTH lost their loves.

And with the dissolution of the jewel went Kagome’s way home.

So they’d thrown themselves into their work, becoming the most dedicated monk and miko the village has ever known.

The saddest monk and Miko the village had ever known.

But time wore on as it was want to do, and Kagome’s shy plea for more training had burst a delicate bubble of distance she’d erected around herself.

Training turned into crying and remembering turned into laughing and joking turned into something softer, warmer, sweeter…

And then she’d kissed him.

��I don’t think we’re the unluckiest anymore,” she said.

“No?”

“No. It feels pretty lucky to get a second chance.”

He lifted her hand and pressed his lips to her knuckles; a silent agreement.
