Pile one
Your future spouse is someone very intelligent, and reserved. I get this very warm, reassuring energy from this person. They are stable, and very loyal. They could possibly have been hurt by others in the past resulting in them being more closed off, and more selective with the people they let into their social circle. This person is independent and strong. Whatever goal they have, they will take all the necessary steps to achieve it. This is someone who will not rush into decisions but rather let it sit in their mind until they can fully grasp the situation. Very intuitive. They could also be very wise about their spending habits. They will not buy things they don't truly want or need. They are the type of person who'll wear very minimalist outfits but still look divine. If they are a woman, their clothes will accentuate any curves they have. I'm seeing body ody ody with this person. A boss, someone who knows their worth and will not settle for anything else. High maintenance man/woman. Loves wearing neutral tones, earth tones, warm tones and look exquisite in them. Old money, classy vibe. Their skin may be tan or rich with deep melanin. They have a warm, golden glow. Looks very healthy. They're going to be like a dream come true to you. You'll also feel like there's nothing you can hide from them once you look into their eyes. They're very gentle, divine and patient. They are very aware of the cycles of life, and understand that in order to be the best version of themselves they must shed old skin and forgive the past. Their intuition is never wrong! Your love life will be full of passion and devotion. Astrologically, this person will have very prominent Venus, Mars and Neptunian placements. They could have Pisces, Scorpio, Aries, Taurus & Libra in their chart (either in their big three, degrees or just their energy) You might meet them at a point of renewal in your life i.e changing jobs, moving cities, deaths. In terms of MBTI they could be ISTJ, ENFJ, INFP, INFJ & INTJ

Pile 2
This person could have suffered from a deep betrayal before you met. This could be from a friend or a previous relationship or even from a family member. Learning about this has shocked and hurt your person deeply. It also may have caused a fallout or multiple arguments. They could be very pessimistic about their love life at the start of your relationship. They could feel like there's no one there for them when actually.. YOU are standing right there!! Something about them is also very eye catching, they could look young or innocent. Their eyes are very prominent. Their eyes could be sharp. They are someone very talkative and passionate, it's like you can see the fire in their eyes when they talk to you. They are also very witty and can be a bit sharp tongued. This reminds me of virgo moons where their flirting can seem like they're poking at you constantly trying to get on your nerves lol. They're great writers, and might keep a journal or a diary with them to keep track of their emotions. They love knowledge and are always down to learning new things. In the heat of the moment this person can talk on and on and on and you'll be the one listening to their ramblings lol. Your relationship will be filled with fun mental debates. Flirting with the mind. You'll talk about your hopes and dreams and will have a close relationship. From the outside looking in people could think you two are twins from the way you act around each other. Fun pranks. You will never get bored of being with each other. You might be dating for years before getting married. They could be very pale, have olive skin or slightly tan but more into the paler side. The way they dress can go from whimsical to basic. They're the type of person who'll wear anything they want. They might also catch people off guard with what they wear. In terms of astrological placements, I could see them being Geminis, Libras, Aquarius, Scorpio, Cancer or Sagittarius. You could meet them at a wedding, a festival, while travelling, through friends or through social media. MBTI wise, I'm getting ENFJ, ENTP, ENFP, INTP, ISTJ, ISTP, ENTJ & ESTP

Pile 3
Right off the bat I feel like this person is from a different culture than you. They could come from another country, or have travelled multiple times in their lives. You could meet them when both of you have achieved a successful career. This person is very triumphant. They may have been looked down upon by other people before, facing backlash from people who do not share their opinions or believed in their strengths. Perhaps they are a business owner, and their parents or peers did not think they would make it it that field. By the time you meet them however, they have proven all opposition wrong! They have worked hard to grow, excel in what they do, even without the aid of those around them. They may have spent countless nights awake just to study and perfect their craft alone. People from their past have tried to sabotage their business or growth but they always have had the wits and strength to come out on top. They are very abundant in terms of financial aspects, and have gained a ton of knowledge within their field. This person is fun, charming and charismatic. You will share a lot of laughs and late night talks with them. They would love to take you out on trips and dates. They could love having hobbies with you, something you can incorporate in both your lives. They will bring you much joy in life. If you have children together, both of you will be great role models to them. This person is well groomed, and has a unique fashion sense. They may have a personal style. Fashion helps them appear more confident to others. They could be religious or spiritual, whatever it is they definitely believe in a higher power. In terms of astrological signs, I'm seeing a lot of Marsian energy so Aries and Scorpio, but also Cancer, Pisces, Leo, Sagittarius and Taurus. MBTI wise I'm seeing ENFJ, ENFP, ISFJ, ESFJ, ISFP, & INFJ.

Tarot to find Lost Things
This is a basic dumb idea that I didn't see around a lot: Use the Tarot to find lost objects.
You know, when you are not sure if an object is even in your house, why don't use Tarot?
I personally use my own Oracle but the basic Major Arcana should work fine, still I find important that the cards have a good amount of images, since what you will use to find the object, is based in the images that you see, not in the meaning of the card itself. For this, very minimalist decks, or basic playing cards may not be useful enough.
So, let's say that you are an unmedicated AHDH as me, so you need to find things because your brain just can't cope with basic order. You sits and start to ask. Where is the Thing? Is in this house, outiside, in a specific room? Then the spread can help you.
Usually I find a basic 5 cards spread useful in this case, but is mostly because I use an Oracle. If your deck have tons of images, maybe 5 are too much... Too much info can lead to contradict itself or turn confusing, so start with a basic 3 cards and see if you have to add more. If your deck have little amount of images, it can need 5 cards or more.
Cards where the "ambient" is outisde, probably mean "not in your house/ in other house or lost in the street" (The Fool, The World, The Wheel of the Fortune).
Cards with columns and chairs can mention a "inside the house" (The High Priestess, The Justice, The Hieropanth).
Some cards can point where in reference to other objects. The Magician have stuffs over the table, it can point things over a table or furniture.
You have pets? Maybe is close your pet, and for that, cards with animals can give a hint (The Strenght, The Chariot).
The cards with suns can hint that is "at sight" (The Sun).
Cards with moons and stars can point the Bedroom (The Moon, The Star).
Card with little light? Inside a closet! It have water? Maybe in the bathroom! Have plants? The garden! Chairs? Check close a chair or the kitchen! Fruits? Maybe close the fridge! Have clothes? Maybe on your bed!
What's matter, is that you focus in the objects that you see, and specially based on YOUR DECK. Since not all the decks are the same, it can have a lot of variations that you need to consider. Example, The Hermit have a light in his hand, which can point to be close a lamp, but if your card is an Hermit Crab, of course it will not mean the same. Be smart, be creative.

Helloo, light curiosity questions if u wanna: Do you have any decks that you use more frequently than others? And/or do you limit any specific decks for specific topics?
Do you have any decks that you use more frequently than others?
I've noticed that I end to go to the same ~15 decks with readings because I like them the most, which is why I've blown open my decklist so people can pick the names of decks they think are most interesting for readings.
Some decks are also just...harder for me to read. The very pan-Celtic Wild Wood Tarot, most of my overly-Wiccan decks, or the extremely minimalist Spoopy Tarot are all difficult for me to make heads or tails of.
And there's also the Shame Corner decks. There are currently three decks in there that are not on the decklist. One is Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot (I gave this deck anxiety somehow), one is a really generically shitty crystal oracle deck, and one is an angel deck that's somehow both appropriative of Kabbalah and also requires me to study the Book of Enoch to understand (but the artwork is fan-fucking-tastic, it's like Hive God meets Machine Orthodoxy Phyrexian meets Eldrazi).
And/or do you limit any specific decks for specific topics?
Some of my decks are better at identification. Not in "this is the entity's name", but rather "here's some characteristics". These would be the Deck of Many Friends & the Deck of Many Foes, Spirit Allies, and Wisdom of the Hidden Realms (though that last one can also be used for regular readings too thanks to how it's set up). I imagine that my Angelarium Emanations deck I bought secondhand off of a friend will also be like this once I wrap my head around it.
I also have a deck of positivity cards called the Magical Times Empowerment Cards, which are more of a "you're doing great!" style deck, for when you just need to hear something nice or motivational. Most people who get readings from me want to be raked over the coals, however, so it doesn't get much use and isn't really fit for most kinds of readings since it lacks much-needed nuance.
There's also the Resilience Alchemy deck, which is focused on self-care and self-betterment, but I don't think it's fit for readings for others. It's focused on deeply personal stuff in a way that doing a reading for a random person on the Internet isn't...ideal for. I'm already cutting close doing readings for people that I don't know, I can't read minds so I'm not going to act as though I can.
I've also decided that the second copies of decks I own (a second deck of the Skyrim Tarot and a second deck of the As Above Tarot by Barbara Moore [derogatory]) are now to be used for spellwork instead of divination.
I also have four different decks of playing cards because I've been wanting to get into cartomancy (one of them is dedicated to Athena, and I use the Pride Knights playing cards to represent various deities and spirits), two sets of Futhark runes (I've never gotten runes to work for me, so I use them for spell work), a DIY Lenormand deck made from a deck of playing cards (and honestly looks like crap and doesn't work well...I need to get a proper Lenormand deck and I've got my eye on one already), and now a basic osteomancy set from Lupa Greenwolf because it came as part of a giant divination bundle kit I recently bought and finally received.
So, you know. Spreading out my little divination feelers and learning many more divination systems. Divination is something I enjoy doing, even though I keep wiping my ass out with it.
Thanks for sending these in! I love rambling about tarot and oracle decks and my practice.

A true mechanical game master
One of the staples of solo play is the Yes/No Oracle.
A clever tool that answers closed questions that the GM usually would in guided games.
“Is it raining?” “Does she recognize me?”
Useful, but I think we can do more with it. Make it more of a GM.
You usually ask the Oracle for details of the scene you are in, the outcome of your actions, the traits and reactions of the people you are talking to, your assumptions about a fact, and so on.
All of those have something in common: they are in-fiction questions. I believe there’s great untapped potential for what this simple mechanic can achieve: rules adjudication.
If you play solo, you've been there:
You want to perform a certain action and there is no clear rule indicating if you can do it, or how you would go about doing it. You want to use one of your abilities, but there’s nothing you can find clarifying if it is applicable to the situation at hand.
A minimalist game couldn’t possibly cover all imaginable scenarios, and a crunchier game might confuse you with the minutiae of a particular rule.
Solo players must rely on their own interpretation of the mechanics. But raise your hand if you ever felt overwhelmed by doing all that alone or, worse, felt like you're 'cheating' if your ruling significantly benefits your character.
This is normally part of a traditional Game Master's duties, filling in the gaps where concrete rules may leave room for ambiguity. Personally, this is specially true when I’m soloing games with ‘softer’ rules, like free-form magic systems.
Can I use ‘talk to animals’ with a giant spider? Can I cast lightning inside the dungeon?
Sure, I can make the most reasonable judgement call at the moment and move on, but… isn’t there another way?
(You know where this is going, right?)
I propose an expansion of the Oracle's role – using it as a dynamic house rule generator and rules adjudicator.
Yes, that’s right!
Think about it: a game master usually clarifies rules and make rulings. So why not extend the Oracle's domain to encompass this aspect? This is exactly what I am doing in Nexalis.
I'm encouraging players to use it to clarify rules, test the limits of their character's abilities, determine how these abilities apply in specific situations, and even establish their own house rules.
And I’ve added a bucketload of examples, ranging from specific uses of abilities to general interpretations of rules:
I, as the designer, don’t want to answer all of these questions (and the myriad of others I didn’t anticipate).
Moreover, I like when players come up with their own versions.
Why not use the Oracle to help you with that?
By shifting these questions to the Oracle, we bring in an impartial entity that makes these decisions, alleviating those concerns about fairness and exactness that get in the way of our solo fun.
This ‘Adjudicating Oracle’, in this sense, instills a sense of unpredictability and excitement to the rules as well, as it normally does to the narrative.
You know that awesome feeling of getting a ‘Yes’ when asking a very unlikely question to the oracle, with slim odds? Imagine getting that when asking if you can cast a reanimate spell on that bandit’s leather armor.
If you liked the idea and want to learn more, check out the campaign page below!
We're fully funded, and you have immediate access to the full game upon backing!

The Green Witch's Oracle Deck is finally here!
A few favourite cards.
This is a 50 card deck. It's a pretty standard large oracle card size. Cardstock could be a bit thicker. The backs are busy: flowers and herbs on a black background.
The art is by Sara Richard. Her art is inspired by "Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Victorian funerary imagery, and the beauty of the natural world." If you're wondering if her art looks familiar, it's because she also illustrated the Midnight Magic Tarot (a mushroom deck) and she's also done the illustrations in The Green Witch's Garden. I wouldn't call the art in this deck minimalist but it's not exploding with symbolism either. The first deck that came to mind when I saw the art was the Anatomy of a Witch Oracle (another favourite of mine).
The cards aren't divided into "suits" or anything like that but you can see how cards could be grouped together. You have herbs, gardening tools, the seasons, parts of plants, sowing and harvesting, the weather, etc. There's a cauldron card and a watering can card.
The guidebook is in full colour and includes five spreads + the one card draw. I haven't really looked at the book.
I don't have any complaints. At first I was going to complain about the empty space but actually I kind of like it and it's not that bad.

something that definitely needs to be talked about more is “spiritual materialism”.
i know that myself, and a lot of others, have this habit of collecting spiritual items for the sake of having them and not really getting any meaningful use out of them.
for me it’s crystals. i love the look of crystals and having them all around my room, but they don’t serve a deeper purpose for me because i don’t meditate with them or anything like that. i also catch myself doing this with certain decks i have as well. i’ll use them for readings and such but i don’t feel a deep connection like i do with other decks.
i feel like in this digital world it’s easy for people to snap a picture or record a haul video showing off their new things they got and other people see that and want to be like them. i know that i watch a lot of tarot/oracle unboxings and that’s definitely caused me to buy decks i didn’t connect with.
i swear i’m not telling y’all to become minimalists or anything like that, i know that i could never do that. this is more of a self call out in a way. calling myself out and urging myself to be more mindful about the spiritual things i’m impulsively spending money on just for it to sit in my room.

🔥as many unpopular opinions as you have on card-based divination as you want to share (playing cards, tarot, oracle cards, et cetera)
Hello Jasper~ I hope you're doing well! Since you asked I'll list as many as I can think of. Y'all keep in mind this is purely based on my experiences.
• Playing cards are better than tarot cards most of the time. I said what I said.
• Tarot cards are overhyped and pushed onto beginner diviners too much. Beginners- if you don't vibe with tarot it is okay. There are other divination methods out there.
• I find decks with minimalistic art to be purely for aesthetic and not so much about reading the cards. I mean, good for y'all if you enjoy memorizing the meanings of 78 cards and/or constantly referring to a guidebook. Personally, I need imagery for tarot cards. Minimalistic decks are also often terrible for beginners.
• That being said, for some reason it's a complete opposite for me when it comes to playing cards. Maybe it's just because I find playing cards to be better suited for me in general, but I have no problem reading playing cards that lack imagery.
• Oracle cards are nice and all, but most lack in creativity or a good foundation to read from. There are very few oracle decks I enjoy because of this.
• I don't like most tarot spreads. Most of the time the questions are vague, don't make sense when in the same spread or are generally red flags due to New Age influence.

Hacking RPG Systems: Die4 A Minimalist Oracle Module for MOSAIC/FRESCO
Stumbled upon a couple of manifestos for RPG rule-system design and thought i'd give it a try hacking and homebrewing.
What really got me was the modular thinking it involves in both manifestos (Outcstretching in the FRESCO acronym). I really liked the idea of creating my own game simply by adding together rules like they're Legos or Mario Maker assets.
I kept reading both manifestos and thought that FRESCO Flexible improved a lot of MOSAIC Strict rules, but also that the rest of the rules were non-contrarian between Manifestos.
Theoretically, you could make a FRESCO Flexible ruleset that is also MOSAIC Strict.
And since no manifesto bans me (i think) from inspiration on other CC BY licensed toolkits i came up with one that hacks Caltrop Core and Diedream systems into a minimalist contradiction-inducing dice-based oracle.
I drafted a write-up as an experiment but it contains sections that make me unsure about them aligning to MOSAIC Strict. I want to discuss this briefly as a testament to my ideas on these concepts when drafting the rules.
Is using parts of other systems under CC BY licenses considered referencing other games? Does it break the Independent rule?
I based most of the text on the Caltrop Core SRD by TitanomachyRPG with influence from other resolution systems. The rules are literally a hack of different systems that I´ve been using for my own RPG playthrough and wanted to share as a module. I haven´t added any new systems; I´ve just hacked existing ones together. I claim no direct authorship of any part of this system, my authorship comprises only of putting them together.
Now, I had the question if this broke the Independent rule MOSAIC Strict enforces by which you are forbidden to reference other game texts. Here I want to argue that in my interpenetration of the restrictions hacking other systems in fact does not break the no-reference rule.
It is an established philosophical fact that new knowledge is always based on previous knowledge; this basically entails that it is impossible to come up with an entirely new and unique idea/rule. Even the MOSAIC Strict ruleset has built on previous ideas and knowledge even if the author is not explicit or even aware of it. Even any text (like mine) written to be in accordance with the Attested/Registered rule would be a reference to another document as inspiration. Because of this, inspiration from other systems cannot be disqualifying.
As an addendum to the previous point and to be totally clear about my text I say this: The restrictions in MOSAIC Strict do not explicitly forbid me from including attribution texts required by the CC-BY license. This means that any MOSAIC Strict must also accommodate attribution properly.
How i interpret the rules all this is about the system being independent from other factors in a concrete game. I think this because the text makes so much enphasis on not referencing a concrete game´s quantified state; no dexterity points or hp from concrete playing characters.
I was almost about to break this rule when I realized what it really meant. In the first draft of the text, the number of dice rolled depended explicitly on character stats, which counts as quantified state. I changed the text to instead leave the decision of how many dice to roll up to the player. My new rule doesn´t reference stats but just asks the player to choose the number of dice "as appropriate for the difficulty of the play." With this wording, i not only stopped referencing game state but also stopped referencing a narrative gameplay at all (not making assumptions is part of the MOSAIC rules). You can use my resolution system on RPGS or on any other game.
These are all my arguments on why my text passes both MOSAIC Strict and FRESCO Flexible.
Rant is over. Peace!

Hii❤ I love how you draw Geto and I'm absolutely frothing at whoever you have paired with Toji 🙏 Is he involved with the Zenin clan?
Hi hello!! Im so glad you love how I draw Geto!! I love him so much 😭 💙 he means the world to me and MORE so I am absolutely required to draw him with all the love my feeble mortal body can muster and beyond ✨
With kind words like that I'll draw you all the damn Geto you'd want holy shit im smiling so hard!! 😭
And that would happen to be my OC Tsunayashiro! Tsuna for short! He's 27, while Toji is 20 himself! (In that image) In the canon of JJK and not the Arranged Au terms, Tsuna is actually 37 in 2006! He and Toji meet and end up being a short fling because Tsuna is too good to pass up, Tsuna is a Celestial! He doesn't have cursed energy, nor can use Jutsu. It's a third, more complex thing what he does 😆 But anyway- Tsuna just brings out the good in everyone! He's understanding and patient, just a super sweet guy all together!
He's also a push over. Toji gets whatever he wants out of Tsuna, who lives his life bouncing place to place. He tries to be unnoticeable- but being 6'7 with mousey blond hair and those amethyst-sapphire eyes of his makes it difficult to not stand out 😂
He's on his own for the most part and lives the minimalist life. He has a small house he occasionally stays at, that Toji crashes at more often then not lol
I'm very complimented your frothing over him!! I WILL create more content of him!! I will gladly turn feral with you if you wanna shoot me a DM so I can share more of him with you :D
Im gonna ramble for a bit about him x3
In the Arranged Marriage AU (AM for short) Tsuna and Toji meet way earlier! Toji basically is considered useless to the Zen'in and his only use now is to marry someone worth something. That happens to be Tsuna!
Short and sweet tidbit about Tsuna and why he happens to be so valuable- Celestials are basically Oracle's, with the ability to copy anything they see, see into the future and the past through visions (in Tsuna's case *very unwarranted*), and are very rarely born anymore.
Tsuna in the MA, has a creepy 'uncle', who is just a man that was assigned a role. His uncle wants nothing more than money, and Tsuna knows this, after all.. He's seen the future! He knows the jist of what's going to go down, at least.
At 27 years old, 'Lord Tsunayashiro' is a very quiet, soft spoken man who occasionally goes out of his way to help someone. But more often then not, he's just too nervous and sits there quietly.. Sometimes it's for the better.
Tsuna proved his celestial prowess to Toji's father, (his Uncle really pushing the aspect of Tsuna being 'special' so he can tap into that sweet sweet Zen'in money) by speaking of the past. The things Toji's father had told no one about. Tsuna isn't happy being here, because he 100% knows why he's here.
He can feel the despair of the Zen'in household, and Toji is no different. (Might be asking why the Zen'in who are a bunch of horrible people, are marrying Toji off to a man.. I thought it would be interesting, do i really need a reason? Out of everything they've done, this is probably on the better side of the scale 💀)
Tsuna gets involved with the Zen'in only because he knows his uncle is about to get murdered. He tells Toji's father all he needs to know, and the next day he's poised to meet with Toji.
Toji is not at all stoaked about getting hitched to a complete stranger, without even being asked! Not like his opinion would matter, let alone would he even be given a choice about it!
Toji figures he's just gonna hate Tsuna, but he's more frustrated about the circumstances than anything. Imagine his surprise when he meets Tsuna for the first time!
Tsuna is introduced by Toji's father, and his 'Uncle'. Though they call him 'Lord Tsunayashiro', he says hello himself and tells Toji to just call him Tsuna :>
Toji fights with his father a bit, of course being stubborn and being a pain in the ass 😆 his father quickly gets sick of it when Tsuna's uncle persistently asks if there is a problem- which Toji promptly replies yes to.
Toji's dad threatens to lash Toji, and asks Tsuna's uncle to join him, and the lil greedy old man agreed of course. Well, he gets murdered by Toji's dad who could care less lol
When Toji's dad leaves, telling Toji 'he better start getting to know Tsuna', They talk a little and get to know eachother more, Tsuna revealing the whole Celestial thing, Toji doesn't really believe it until Tsuna makes a statement about his scar.
"They gave you that scar, on the right corner of your mouth.. By throwing you into a pit full of curses, expecting you to die.. But you didn't, did you?"
And Toji is basically: 😶
Also Tsuna opens the door Toji's dad left from and shows Toji that his uncle is dead. Neither are bothered about it really, Toji was expecting it sure, but Tsuna knew it was coming.
From then on they get a good 4 days to know eachother before being seperated for a week! It's a Zen'in tradition marriage headcanon that you spend 4 days together for courting and bonding purposes, before spending a whole week apart.
Well, Tsuna and Toji both know better than to do what the Zen'in want, and secretly sneak around and make their escape plan for after they are married.
I think it's just a fun and interesting little adventure and exploration of character! :3
If you want more Tsuna content, don't hesitate to send me a dm :D
#mori speaks#mori rambles#mori draws ✏#oc: tsunayashiro (tsuna)#jujutsu kaisen oc#arranged marriage au#Hes a silly good boy!!#i have much ive yet to share#PLEASE ID LOVE TO TALK ABOUT TSUNA#I DONT BITE I SWEAR 😭#i have friendship and tsuna content to offer

[sideblog::multiplydifficult] readings! I'm most interested in the minimalist colourful deck!
Our situation / context: we're going to be having a Very Hard Time over the next roughly 18 months (will have to do class full-time despite not having the capacity for full-time anything, nor very much practical, in-person support (which is the type of support we need) and money will be very tight).
So could we get some advice on how to best prepare for & handle it all? (is that one or two quesitions? Lol) (i figure just pick 2-4 cards, whatever you think is most suitable.) (if you want to only pick one of those as questions, i think "prepare for" is most important for us.)
Thank you regardless of if you do this or not!
Since you asked for just the Prism Oracle,
I think this puts together a fairly clear message. To prepare, I feel like a lot of inner peace will be needed, as well as the ability to do things in an unconventional way. If you can't get adequate support in person, find some other way to get what you desire. My advice is always to really listen to your gut and keep as clear of a head as possible, because that's how these workarounds will come to you.
Purple cards, according to my guidebook, point towards more spiritual and mystical topics, and I'm feeling as if meditative or spiritual work (or even just self care) will be extremely important for this road ahead. I also feel, with Determination, that you're going to have to find ways to renew your motivation, and that too will take intuition and creative thinking. It's not as hopeless as it may seem!

A world of a thousand isles
Alright, let's do this!
Let me tell you about the heftiest game I've ever written:
Get ready for Nexalis, a bright fantasy RPG about exploration, growth and camaraderie in the mesmerizing world of the Starbound Isles!
The campaign starts next week, and here's everything you need to know:
(Character art by @penflowerink) Nexalis showcases a vibrant and diverse setting, filled with colorful landscapes and imaginative creatures. There's conflict, struggle and fight, but the stories tend to maintain an overall positive and hopeful tone, even in the face of adversity.
With 15 unique oracles and random tables, you can create and customize your world, the islands you explore, the missions you undertake, and the characters you encounter.
The game offers 6 engaging playbooks in trifold format with unique talents and highly customizable traits. Character creation is streamlined and fast, allowing you to dive into the game quickly!
You can play it solo or in a cooperative group. No need for a game master to lead the play. Clear and structured steps guide your gaming experience, so you don't get stuck even without a GM!
The system starts with a familiar and approachable core mechanic, and expands to offer a nuanced gameplay experience. During combat, a miss offers a tactical choice that influences possible counter-attacks and even the turn order! Nexalis has 150 pages, but let's break them down:
31 on tables and oracles
20 on examples of play
20 on (mainly) island maps
15 on step-by-step procedures
12 on playbooks
5 on dice rolls
3 on lore
That's why I still consider it a minimalist game.
There's much more to it, but if you liked it so far, check out the campaign page and subscribe to be notified of the launch!
And if you are an actual play/review podcast or stream channel, get in touch! I can offer a review copy of the game (and you can also check my nifty press kit I put together)

The **Tarot Lenormand** you're referring to is an interesting deck that merges traditional tarot elements with the symbols and style of the **Lenormand oracle deck**. However, unlike the traditional Lenormand decks, which are typically used as oracle cards with a very specific and simplified set of symbols, Tarot Lenormand blends this style with the structure of a full 78-card tarot deck.
### **Key Differences from Traditional Tarot Decks:**
1. **Minor Arcana Symbolism:**
- **Traditional Decks (like Rider-Waite):** In decks like Rider-Waite, the Minor Arcana is divided into four suits (Wands, Swords, Cups, Pentacles) with each suit containing numbered cards from Ace to 10, plus four court cards (Page, Knight, Queen, King). Each card generally depicts a scene or symbol related to its number and suit.
- **Tarot Lenormand:** In Tarot Lenormand, while the deck retains the structure of the Minor Arcana, the traditional symbols (Wands, Swords, Cups, Pentacles) are often replaced with more abstract or alternative images. For example, you mentioned the 9 of Wands showing mice and a book rather than the traditional imagery of a figure holding a wand with others standing behind him. The imagery in Tarot Lenormand often reflects the divinatory meanings found in Lenormand oracle cards rather than the traditional tarot symbolism.
2. **Major Arcana and Court Cards:**
- **Traditional Decks:** Major Arcana cards in traditional decks follow a standard set of images and themes, such as The Fool, The Magician, and The Lovers. Court cards in traditional decks are always linked to their suits.
- **Tarot Lenormand:** The Major Arcana in Tarot Lenormand may feature similar themes but depicted in a way that reflects the Lenormand style, which often means a more symbolic or minimalistic approach. The court cards in Tarot Lenormand may also follow a different artistic direction, integrating elements more closely associated with the Lenormand oracle.
3. **Art Style and Themes:**
- **Traditional Decks:** The art style in traditional decks can vary, but most adhere to the themes and symbols established by early decks like the Rider-Waite-Smith. This involves detailed illustrations that directly convey the meaning of the card through allegorical scenes.
- **Tarot Lenormand:** The art style in Tarot Lenormand is often more minimalistic, focusing on symbols rather than scenes. The cards may feature images that are less direct in their symbolism, requiring a deeper understanding of Lenormand meanings to fully interpret them.
### **Why the Differences?**
The differences arise from the fusion of tarot with the Lenormand system, which itself is a unique oracle deck created by **Marie Anne Lenormand**, a famous French cartomancer. Lenormand decks are traditionally simpler and more symbolic, with each card representing a specific concept (like the Book, the Mice, or the Cross). The Tarot Lenormand attempts to blend the rich, narrative style of tarot with the more straightforward symbolism of Lenormand, creating a deck that can be read in a hybrid manner, drawing on the strengths of both systems.
### **In Summary:**
The **Tarot Lenormand** deck is a unique fusion of the traditional tarot structure with the symbolic language of Lenormand oracles. Its imagery often departs from the traditional scenes of tarot, opting instead for symbols that carry specific divinatory meanings in the Lenormand tradition. This makes it quite different from traditional decks like the Rider-Waite or those based on it, as it blends two distinct systems into one, offering a new way to engage with tarot readings.
