I apologize if you’ve been asked this question before and I missed it in the craziness that is Tumblr, but can I ask what type of foundation you use? I don’t have MCAS, just rosacea-slash-really sensitive skin, which I used to have a fairly good handle on. Unfortunately, going through menopause dialed everything up to eleven somehow. So now I’m having to reevaluate every single skin care product that I’ve ever used.
Ooft, solidarity, the struggle is real.
So, the foundations I use are the pressed mineral powder from Gabrielle Cosmetics/Zuzu Luxe* (same parent company), which can be applied either dry or wet. I've also got their oil-free liquid foundation, which I think gives a bit better coverage during the winter.
I will say they are not overly good at covering up rosacea or red skin (I have the "MCAS flush" on the sides of my face and high on my cheeks and sometimes on my nose that I can't hide, so I make it look like aggressive blusher, lol. Assigned e-girl by my immune shit)
I'm actually about to patch-test a red-correction liquid foundation from Daniel Sandler*, which I've heard from a few other MCAS people has been helpful at covering up the MCAS flush and not caused too many reactions for those of us who have extra sensitive skin. I use their liquid watercolor blush without issue as well, so here's hoping. I can post an update if anyone is interested when I've done testing it.
I was also recently recommended a Korean skincare brand called Dr. Jart+* by someone else with rosacea, which looks interesting, but unfortunately, they've all got some level of sunscreen in them, and the last time I had serious anaphylaxis was from an absorbent sunscreen so I'm not supposed to use them. RIP to my skin, I guess.
Anyway, that's what I use. Good luck in your skincare journey.
*not sponsored or affiliated, just sharing what I use/have been recommended by other folks with super sensitive skin.

some make-up headcanons!
it's no surprise that in hermits world, make up is not tied to any gender identity, but what's more perculiar is that there isn't even make up as We know it in the magical world of minecraft. the situation can be compared to early human ages of discovering the world of make up
they use lapis and flowers to add some colour, beetroots to make the lips pop, etc. there's no foundation but oh Boy do those who know how to do it mix the magical ingredients to have some fun.
those few people who doubled in the wonderful world of face painting are as follows:
evil x and xisuma had an emo phase. "but Vin! if your minecraft hcs are totally disconnected from the real world, how come emos exist?!" they don't. ex thought it would be cool to use coal to make his eyes look more intimidating, X was inspired by it but actually spent his time experimenting to create a cleaner way of adding face paint (studied how coal and other dyes react to different minerals and everything)
stress, to me, has a permanent blush using the goo of beetroot. it suits her.
when scar was first experimenting with his magic crystals, it wasn't always glass. he even powdered down other crystals to see what's happened and stumbled upon blue (and all sorts of) eyeshadow. he didn't really use that information until s9, it was just so fun trying to colour coordinate his elven robes with the accessories and the colour of his eyes! what if he added a little pop of colour there? ooh!
cub just knows things. doesn't need an explanation
xb! one of the few hermits who actually is connected to the ancient world! was raised by the ancestors of the long fallen civilisation. when a player-ocean guardian hybrid appeared as a race, they wanted to feel connected to their mob elders, so they had an almost tribal tradition of adding make up to imitate some of the features. it was glorious. some believe that at some point the richest of the tribe used gold for their paint, but when xb was born only the placement of the face paint was known, so the hybrids had some fun! (it's waterproof make up too)
anyways I like to think the hermits have gatherings sometimes where they share the art of make up and have fun dressing up. everyone paint everyone. scar and xb come together with the power of the Colour and the magic of the fluid lines to paint bdubs face. he appreciates it very much
Ooh that's super cool, I bet the redstoners figured out how to make blush with redstone

Summary: Iacon City is in chaos. Shockwave, member of the High Guard, aids in its destruction and encounters a not-quite-familiar face.
Word count: 643
Author's Note: Major spoilers for Transformers One!
Iacon City was in chaos. The news of Sentinel Prime’s betrayal had shaken the city to its very foundations, and now, the forces of the once esteemed High Guard - helmed by a once cogless miner - were determined to tear down the rest. Every statue, every gilded monument dedicated to Sentinel Prime’s name, was blasted into dust and shrapnel.
Iacon’s citizens, both transformers and cogless, cried out in outrage-turned-panic as they fled from the destruction. To the commanders of the High Guard - Starscream, Shockwave, and Soundwave - the din of fear became lost in both the familiarity of battle and the thrill of renewed purpose.
As Starscream went high, and Soundwave went low, Shockwave drifted from his peers. His cannon fire destroyed another effigy of Sentinel’s grin. His single, unblinking optic swept across the city’s expanse, searching for the next suitable target. Another wing was dismembered from Sentinel’s glittering tower. Shockwave continued to advance. Frightened bots ran past him, swarming and scrambling for the nearest means of escape, but he paid them no mind beyond another variable on the field; they, in turn, gave him a wide berth.
A silver trooper dropped into his path from above, raised their blaster, and fired. The bolt of energy lanced off of Shockwave’s shoulder pauldron and he twisted with the impact, his vocal components seizing around a pained growl. He turned his cannon on the trooper and returned the blow. The trooper’s blaster clattered against the ground a moment before they toppled over, a hole carved clean through their torso. Shockwave eyed the fallen enemy for a moment longer before he stepped around the body.
Movement caught his optic. Braced for another of Sentinel’s forces, Shockwave immediately turned and fired. There wasn’t another trooper - the blast sizzled through the air like a comet and hit a fallen prong of the bridge’s supports. Lying jagged and length-ways across the ground, the laser-fire reduced the hulking piece of broken architecture to rubble. As the dust cleared, it revealed two forms, crouched behind what had formerly been a source of cover. Shockwave stepped towards them, lowered helm furrowing his intent optic, scrutinising what could still have been a threat. Two bots. One of them was a small truck of some sort, her explosive colour scheme dulled by a layer of white powder from the destroyed bridge, and the other-
Shockwave froze. The second bot stalled in place, equally frozen underneath the cyclopic gaze now locked on him, staring back with wide, startled optics. Red, white, and with sparse accents of pink across his frame, the bot’s markings indicated he was a medic.
The light in Shockwave’s cannon fizzled out. He stood motionless. There was no recognition in the medic’s expression, and Shockwave knew he had to keep it that way, but…
“Hello.” The greeting was almost lost in the mechanical warble of Shockwave’s voice. The medic’s optics darted across Shockwave, across the other fleeing Cybertronians, and high above in the direction of Megatron’s thundering call to action.
“...Hi.” He replied with audible confusion and the slightest upwards curve in his lips.
Another explosion shook Sentinel’s tower. As Shockwave glanced back towards the cloud of purple smoke that rolled from its awnings, footsteps scrambled in front of him, followed by the overlapped whirr of two transformation cogs. By the time Shockwave looked back, the medic’s helicopter alt mode was already retreating into the distance, his truck friend close behind.
Shockwave silently released the air he hadn’t realised he’d been holding in his ventilation systems. His expression was, as ever, unreadable as he turned around. The sights and sounds of the still ongoing siege washed back over him, as if he had momentarily forgotten the entire affair, and Soundwave’s voice rumbled in his comm-line requesting assistance. Shockwave put the brief encounter aside and hurried towards the fellow High Guardsmen who had need of him.

Makeup Myths and Acne Realities
(Credit to: Jacob Lund)
While doing more in-depth fashion research, I came across fact vs. fiction in regards to makeup and acne-- particularly, that improper makeup prep or cleansing leads to acne breakouts so tremendous they are seen through makeup, from a few feet away, or even through online photos.
Now thoroughly intrigued, I set out to tackle the differences in "makeup" acne and more serious acne conditions.
**Note**: If you want to skip straight to the pictures demonstrating the differences between acne caused by improper technique and acne caused by long-term skin conditions, scroll down to MAKEUP BREAKOUTS OR HORMONAL IMBALANCES?
ACNE MYTHS
(Credit to: Susana Ramirez)
The myth most topical to this post is spelled out by dermatologist expert Anjali Mahto here:
There's a misconception that makeup can cause acne, and those with acne-prone skin are often told that makeup will make acne worse. "I definitely don't think we should be shaming people for wearing makeup, as long as they are guided on the types of products they should be using and the application process," says Mahto. "There are clinical trial data that show that wearing makeup will give acne sufferers more confidence. Makeup alone doesn't cause acne. Likewise, going makeup free won't stop excess oil, bacteria or dead skin cells shedding in the pores or control the spot-causing bacteria."
Sticking to the topic of acne and makeup, Amy Derick (MD) succinctly debunks popular acne myths in this WebMD article:
Acne Myth 1: Adults don’t get acne.
Not true. Surveys have found that significant numbers of adults are still getting acne into their 30s, 40s, and even 50s. Acne may look different when you’re 36 than it did when you were 16 -- it’s more likely to be reddish nodules around your mouth and jaw, rather than whiteheads and blackheads scattered all over your forehead, nose, and cheeks -- but it’s acne all the same.
Acne Myth 5: You have acne because you’re not washing enough.
Unless you’re a slob, that’s probably not true. “Studies in teens show that washing your face twice a day is more effective than just once, but more than that isn’t necessary and can dry out your skin,” Derick says. “Cleansers are only on your skin for five seconds. Leave-on products like retinoid creams are more efficacious.”
(Further, verywellhealth also notes: ...over-cleaning the skin can lead to dryness, which can trigger the overproduction of sebum and an outbreak of acne.)
Acne Myth 6: You can’t wear makeup if you have a breakout.
"Some makeup can definitely exacerbate acne, particularly thicker liquid foundations that can clog pores and stage-type pancake makeup. But lighter, looser powder foundations, like mineral powder, aren’t nearly as aggravating to your skin,” Derick says. “Of course, people who have acne want to cover it, and coverage is better with thicker liquids, but you have to compromise.”
We know makeup can cause acne breakouts, though. So: what type of acne does it cause, and how do we differentiate?
ACNE BASICS
healthline lays out a nice, simple guide for all things acne:
Types of acne
The most common types of acne are:
whiteheads
blackheads
papules
pustules
nodules
cystic acne
Aaron Secrest, an academic/research dermatologist at the University of Utah, says these types are broken into two groups:
Comedonal acne, including whiteheads and blackheads
Inflammatory acne, including papules, pustules, nodules, and cystic acne
Both types of acne are caused by:
clogged pores
bacteria
overproduction of oil
hormonal changes
Acne subtypes
There are also several subtypes of acne, including:
adult hormonal acne (occurs due to hormonal fluctuations)
acne excoriée (occurs when someone with acne compulsively picks their skin, leading to scarring)
acne mechanical (occurs due to friction or pressure against the skin)
acne conglobata (occurs when nodules, abscesses, and cysts link below the skin, causing redness and swelling)
acne as a side effect of medications
COMEDONAL OR INFLAMMATORY ACNE
Comedonal acne are the garden variety cookie cutter acne: those divorced from hormonal imbalances or deep-rooted skin issues. Simply put, they are easily created and easily cured, leaving little to no trace in their wake. These are the makeup pimples caused by lack of proper care: whiteheads or blackheads that crop up overnight because of improper cleansing techniques.
Inflammatory acne are the tough nuts to crack: they are imbedded with hormonal imbalances or deep-rooted skin issues-- chronic symptoms of larger issues that leave deep ruts or long-term scars if not treated quickly and accurately. These are lifelong issues: no matter if one cleanses or sunscreens or diets or kumbayas properly, hormonal or cystic acne or modules or pustules will pop out or inflame or set in with very little prompting; and are incredibly difficult to hide-- if at all-- under makeup.
(I recommend this healthline article for an in-depth spreadsheet about the differing types of acnes and their treatments.)
INFLAMMATORY ACNE: HORMONAL ACNE
(Credit to: @SKINCAREGEM)
The common cause underlying all types of acne is an imbalance of the androgen hormone, which flares up during puberty and levels out in one's later teens or twenties.
Hormonal acne, however, is a type of inflammatory acne that rages out of control no matter a person's age or their careful, consistent attempts to control it: breakouts and flareups occur without mercy, and wreck havoc despite careful, consistent management.
Dr. Elyse M. Love says:
"The term hormonal acne is typically used to describe adult-onset female acne, as there tends to be a strong hormonal component to this type,” explains Elyse M. Love, MD, a NYC-based dermatologist. She goes on to say that this acne can can present in your 20s, 30s, and 40s, and impact both those who have experienced cystic breakouts before and those who haven’t.
"Hormonal acne is almost always cystic and inflammatory in nature,” says Dr. Love. “It presents with painful red papules, pustules, and deep cysts on the lower face, and it can create long-term scarring (especially if you attempt to pop it). At its mildest form, hormonal acne presents with a breakout or two near menstruation, but for many, it can persist all month long.”
She explains that hormonal acne most commonly occurs on the lower face (on the lower cheeks, jawline, chin) and body (across the chest, back, and shoulders), but can also present between the brows.
(Credit to: kyliespoon)
And Dr. Joshua Zeichner concurs:
According to board-certified dermatologist, Joshua Zeichner, MD, there are two main indicators of whether your acne is in fact due to hormones: Your breakouts happen along the lower third of your face, and they get worse before your period when there is an excess build-up of testosterone.
And verywellhealth agrees:
"For around 40% of women, however, acne may continue well into their 40s....
healthline states:
Hormonal acne may be caused by influxes of hormones from:
menstruation
polycystic ovarian syndrome
menopause
increased androgen levels
Specifically, these hormone fluctuations may aggravate acne issues by increasing:
overall skin inflammation
oil (sebum) production in the pores
clogged skin cells in hair follicles
production of acne-causing bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes
Unless your hormonal acne is mild, over-the-counter (OTC) products usually aren’t successful.
This is because hormonal acne typically takes the form of cystic bumps. These bumps form deep under the skin, out of reach of most topical medications.
How hard is it to manage hormonal acne?
Example: KiranJagpal shared photos from her six-year skincare journey after recently (at the time of her upload) figuring out how to balance her skincare routine, diet, and lifestyle to better manage bigger breakouts (with no guarantee life won't throw that balance out of the window sometime in the future, despite her best efforts.)
clevelandclinic.org describes:
Causes of hormonal acne that you can control
Stress.
Lack of sleep.
Using hair and skin care products that aren’t oil-free or free of ingredients that won’t clog pores (non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic).
Causes for hormonal acne that you can’t do anything about
Changing hormone levels in women, including around your period, irregular periods, during pregnancy, during menopause or after discontinuing birth control.
Men undergoing testosterone treatment.
Family history of acne (genetic predisposition).
Side effect of a medication (steroids).
Pre-existing medical conditions (polycystic ovary syndrome, other ovarian conditions and metabolic conditions).
Again, that leaves us with the question--
MAKEUP BREAKOUTS OR HORMONAL IMBALANCES?
(Credit to: Makeup by Ren Ren)
Here we reach the key distinction: breakouts due to negligence, or breakouts due to chronic skin conditions or sensitivities?
Makeup is an industry stuffed to the gills with different formulations; and with so much variety, there is guaranteed to be at least one formula that irritates and one that doesn't. If either a foundation formula or an improper cleansing routine creates a problem, it will likely cause a day-or-two comedonal breakout-- which is very different from an inflammatory breakout's raised, textured, or inflamed week-to-month skin.
(Fun fact: clean beauty often fares worse for sensitive or acne-prone skin types because their replacement preservatives do an awful job keeping mold or chemical aging at bay. Not recommended.)
Comedonal acne: whiteheads or blackheads that bloom in small patches, and are easily disguised by makeup-- typically with a thin layer of foundation or concealer-- and practically invisible a foot or two away or through a photo (unless shot up-close.)
(Credit to: ??)
(Credit to: @ValentineKissesBeauty)
Hormonal imbalance breakouts caused by either skin irritation or other external or internal factors: a combination of cysts or pustules or papules or nodules with the previously mentioned whiteheads and blackheads. They are definitely harder to cover-- requiring a heavier duty foundation or concealer (or a thinner foundation and heavier-duty concealer for a "less caked on" look)-- and are still visible from a few feet away or through an unfiltered or unedited photo (and, in some cases, even with filters.)
(Credit to: Samantha Ravandahl)

CONCLUSION
I thought this topic was interesting, dug up some facts, crunched them down, and whipped this post out. Hope it was intriguing to someone else, too.
Thanks for reading~
Enjoy!

Boost Your Fitness and Performance with the Right Supplements
In the pursuit of improved fitness and performance, many athletes and fitness enthusiasts turn to supplements to give them an edge. While a balanced diet should always be the foundation, certain supplements can complement your training regimen and help you reach your goals faster. Let’s explore some of the most effective supplements for enhancing fitness and performance.
1. Protein Powders
Protein is essential for muscle repair and growth, making it a cornerstone of any fitness program. Protein powders, such as whey, casein, and plant-based options like pea or hemp protein, offer a convenient way to increase your protein intake. They can be consumed as shakes or added to smoothies, providing a quick and easy source of high-quality protein.
2. Creatine
Creatine is one of the most researched supplements for improving strength and power. It works by increasing the body’s stores of phosphocreatine, which helps regenerate adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy currency of cells. This can lead to improved performance during high-intensity activities like weightlifting and sprinting.
3. Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs)
BCAAs, including leucine, isoleucine, and valine, are essential amino acids that play a crucial role in muscle protein synthesis. Supplementing with BCAAs can help reduce muscle breakdown during exercise, enhance recovery, and promote muscle growth.
4. Beta-Alanine
Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that combines with histidine to form carnosine, a compound that helps buffer acid in muscles during high-intensity exercise. By increasing muscle carnosine levels, beta-alanine supplementation may delay fatigue and improve endurance during activities like sprinting and interval training.
5. Caffeine
Caffeine is a well-known stimulant that can enhance performance in various ways. It increases alertness, reduces perceived exertion, and can improve endurance by stimulating the release of adrenaline and mobilizing fatty acids for energy. Caffeine can be consumed in supplement form or obtained from sources like coffee and tea.
6. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil supplements, have anti-inflammatory properties that can benefit athletes by reducing exercise-induced inflammation and promoting faster recovery. Additionally, omega-3s support cardiovascular health, which is crucial for overall fitness and performance.
7. Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays a vital role in bone health, muscle function, and immune function, making it important for athletes and active individuals. Many people have suboptimal levels of vitamin D, especially those who live in northern latitudes or spend limited time outdoors. Supplementing with vitamin D can help ensure adequate levels for optimal performance and overall health.
8. Electrolytes
Electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium are essential for hydration, muscle function, and nerve signaling. During intense exercise, especially in hot conditions, electrolyte losses through sweat can impair performance and increase the risk of cramping. Electrolyte supplements or sports drinks can help replenish these crucial minerals and maintain electrolyte balance.
9. Nitric Oxide Boosters
Nitric oxide (NO) is a molecule that dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow to muscles and improving nutrient and oxygen delivery. Supplements containing ingredients like citrulline and beetroot extract can enhance NO production, leading to better endurance and performance during workouts.
Conclusion
Supplements can be valuable tools for enhancing fitness and performance when used appropriately alongside a well-rounded diet and training program. However, it’s essential to choose high-quality supplements, stay within recommended dosages, and consult with a healthcare professional or nutritionist if you have any concerns or underlying health conditions. With the right combination of supplements and dedication to your fitness goals, you can maximize your potential and achieve the results you desire.

Hi guys,
Recently I have been taking day off wearing a full face of makeup just because I don't always have to do a full glam when I have a day off. Today I wanted to show you the 3 makeup / skincare products I have been using to create a very natural, lightweight makeup look.
Out of all my makeup looks I have chatted you all through before this is by far my most simple only using 3 products. For days like these I don't use any eye products because it's nice sometimes to give your eyes and lashes a break. In this routine I start off with prepping my freshly washed face with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream, £79.00. This Magic Cream is perfect for people with oily/ combo skin because it doesn't leave your skin too glowy and leaves your face feeling fresh and hydrated.
After I have prepared my skin I then cover my blemishes and dark circles with the 17. Second Skin Enhancing Concealer, £2.50. This concealer has quickly become one of my favourites because it offers great coverage, has a buildable formula and wears really well. Also doesn't hurt that the concealer is incredibly affordable compared to other products I use. Lastly as my main facebase / powder I go in with the Bare Minerals Original Loose Powder Foundation , £29.00. This product is perfect when you want to even your complexion, offer coverage and powder your face all in one step. This powder has become a favourite of mine too because it does so much in one step that when I'm in a rush I can throw it on and I look flawless.
Lastly if I wanted to I would just throw on a lip balm to make my lips look glossy but there we have it, my very easy routine! Like I said this routine is perfect if I want a quick easy makeup look that looks like I'm not wearing anything! I would love to know what you wear on no makeup, makeup days.
As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love
Bella x x

y are you so pretty!?!?!?! Girl what are the makeup details because I’m trying to achieve the soft look.
so sweet, thank you! 💗
these are the products i use:
• Laura Mercier pure canvas primer hydrating
• Milk hydro grip hydrating primer
• Too Faced born this way super coverage concealer
• MAC mineralize skinfinish natural face powder
• Anastasia Beverly Hills powder bronzer
• Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder
• Dior rosy glow blush
• MAC brow set
• Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz
• Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless setting spray
• Refy lip sculpt liner & setter in the colour sepia
• MAC lustreglass lipstick in the color thanks it’s mac
• MAC lipgloss in the oyster girl
what works best for me when it comes to a soft look or makeup in general is using products as little as possible because you want to make sure your skin looks natural. skip the full coverage and go for something more sheer coverage that you can build up!
now, i personally don’t wear foundation unless i’m getting a full beat (which i actually hate on me) and i also don’t contour my face because i naturally have a defined face so adding contour on top of it can easily make me look crazy lmao i use bronzer instead, it’s more subtle and less sharp!
this is my makeup routine when i do wear makeup and all i ever use on my face is concealer, powder, bronzer & blush with all the products listed. hope that helps! 💕💗🩷💖
