A 2022 Red Rocks performance of the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s “Midnight in Harlem”. ______________________ Midnight in Harlem Songwriters: Mike Mattison and Derek Trucks
Well, I came to the city I was running from the past My heart was bleeding And it hurt my bones to laugh Stayed in the city No exception to the rules, to the rule He was born to love me I was raised to be his fool, oh, his fool
(Walk that line) Walk that line (Torn apart) Torn apart Gotta spend your whole life trying (Ride that train) Ride that train (Free your heart) And free your heart It's midnight up in Harlem
I went down to the river And I took a look around There were old man's shoes There were needles on the ground No more mysteries, baby No more secrets, no more clues The stars are out there You can almost see the moon
The streets are windy And the subway's closing down Gonna carry this dream To the other side of town
(Walk that line) Walk that line (Torn apart) Torn apart Gotta spend your whole life trying (Ride that train) Ride that train (Free your heart) And free your heart It's midnight up in Harlem

Song Review(s): Tedeschi Trucks Band - “Woman to Woman,” “It Hurt So Bad” and “Playing with My Emotions” (Live, July 2, 2023)
Susan Tedeschi waited in the wings as the other 11 members of Tedeschi Trucks Band performed “Woman to Woman.”
The Joe Cocker number that opened TTB’s July 2 set at the Peach Music Festival was little more than a vamp and an opportunity for keyboardist Gabe Dixon and the three-voice choir of Mike Mattison, Mark Rivers and Alecia Chakour to get some lead-vocal time.
The real show began when Tedeschi came out and, after wrapping the opener, lit into “It Hurt So Bad.” This was the blueswoman of shredded vocal cords and bended strings. Her husband, guitarist Derek Trucks, stuck to rhythm as Tedeschi rested her voice between verses by working her fingers to the calluses with a scorching run of leads.
A thunderbolt of musical energy doesn’t come close to describing her presence on this one, culled from the Peach’s livestream sampler of Tedeschi Trucks’ set.
Tedeschi subsequently dueled with Trucks on “Playing with My Emotions,” a fine performance of a subpar composition.

NFL Week 1 Recap
Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs
In my last blog post about this game, I mentioned that tight end Travis Kelce was unavailable due to a hyperextended knee. This hyperextended knee turned out to be a bone bruise.
Anyway, this was a game that got away from the Chiefs in the second half of the match. After only being able to score two field goals, the Lions came back from 20-7 to 21-20 with two touchdowns plus the extra points via field goals.
Let’s see how the Chiefs can come back from this one when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 17 at 1 PM EST to kick off Week 2.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The new quarterback for the Buccaneers, Baker Mayfield, was looking to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with on his third team in one year.
In the first quarter of this game, multiple punts were made by both the Vikings and Buccaneers with Kirk Cousins (Vikings quarterback) fumbling the football twice.
It was a 36-yard field goal by kicker Chase McLaughlin that put the Buccaneers on the board by 3-0.
In the second quarter, the Vikings scored a touchdown via Cousins’ pass to wide receiver Jordan Addison and a field goal for the extra point. It was 7-3 Vikings.
The Vikings tacked on more points via a field goal by kicker Greg Joseph and they now led by 10-3.
The Buccaneers returned the favor with a touchdown of their own. Mayfield threw to wide receiver Mike Evans in the end zone for a complete play. The score was tied 10-10 after the extra point was good.
The second quarter and first half of the game ended with Cousins being intercepted by Buccaneers’ rookie defensive back Christian Izien.
youtube
In the third quarter, Mayfield threw to rookie wide receiver Trey Palmer for a touchdown and took the lead by the score of 17-10 with the extra point.
In the fourth quarter, the Vikings tied things up at 17-17 with Cousins completing a touchdown pass to running back Alexander Mattison plus the extra point field goal.
After a couple of punts on both sides, McLaughlin kicked another three-point field goal to secure a win for the Buccaneers at 20-17.
New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys – America’s favorite team – went up against the Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ aka the Meadowlands on a misty Sunday night.
In this game, all of the scoring was done by the Cowboys. In the first quarter, when the Giants' Graham Gano attempted to score a three-point field goal, the ball was blocked by the Cowboys' defensive line.
It was then specifically recovered by the Cowboys cornerback Noah Igbinoghene and he ran it into the end zone for a touchdown. It was 6-0 Cowboys from the get-go.
Later in that quarter, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey made a 21-yard field goal, giving the Cowboys a further lead at 9-0.
Before the first quarter ended, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones threw a pass intercepted by Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland, who ran it into the end zone for a touchdown.
With the extra point being fair, the Cowboys extended their lead to 16-0.
In the second quarter, Aubrey scored another field goal for the Cowboys, making it 19-0 Dallas. After the Cowboys punted the ball back to the Giants, Jones managed to throw another interception to the Cowboys.
This caused the Cowboys to score a touchdown via running back Tony Pollard after quarterback Dak Prescott set up the drive. With the extra point being good, The Cowboys led 26-0.
After the Giants missed a field goal via Gano and the Cowboys returned the ball back to the Giants via punter Bryan Anger, the second quarter and first half of the game ended.
youtube
In the third quarter and second half of the game, Pollard ran another touchdown into the end zone for the Cowboys. With Aubrey securing the extra point, the Cowboys now led by 33-0.
Fast forward to the fourth quarter, K. Turpin ran a play into the end zone for another Cowboys touchdown. Once again, Aubrey’s extra-point kick was good and the Cowboys took a 40-0 lead.
This game was a complete joke for the Giants. With a Jones fumble and turnovers on downs by both teams, the fourth quarter and game would end at 40-0 Cowboys.
The Giants offensive line gave Jones no protection whatsoever against the Cowboys defensive line with Jones being sacked seven times in this game.
As for the Giants' defense, it simply wasn’t there with the Cowboys' offense scoring 40 points against them.
At one point during this horrendous game, Brian Daboll (Giants head coach) looked like he was going to cry.
I’d cry, too, if my team performed horribly regardless of the assistance – or lack thereof – by the offensive and defensive coordinators/coaches.
Scores from Around the League
The Atlanta Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10.
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans 25-9.

Tedeschi Trucks Band @ Chicago Theater January 26, 2019
For the third year in a row, my wife and I attended the Tedeschi Trucks Band show at the Chicago Theatre. This was the fourth time I have seen this band as I also saw them in Rochester, NY in 2011. Their fourth annual “residency” at the Chicago Theater has expanded into four shows over two weekends. We attended the last of the shows, January 26 on a beautiful cold snowy night in the city. I love seeing this band every year. They are so incredible live. They played a two-set show. There were so many of my favorite songs in the first set that I felt like I would have been happy if that was their entire show. The second set they played the song of my dreams when they played a cover of The Allman Brothers Band song Dreams. It was just riveting, and the haunting melody and guitar sent chills down my spine. The set list in noted below. They also did short promo show with WXRT with songs and interviews with Derek and Susan. The link for that is here: https://wxrt.radio.com/tedeschi-trucks-band-concert-webcast

No need to prepare your Draft, whether you're a beginner or experienced player, just use this list and you'll be set. In Standard Scoring Leagues you don't get points for receptions, so you will have to prioritize touchdown-heavy players. In this format, running backs are going to be a priority, so they have a slight edge over wide receiver. However, a receiving running back is also important because you have double the chance to score. If your league allows it, I would start three RBs every week. These will get you the most touchdowns besides a quarterback. So, remember to do after those red zone threats. In the end, they will make the difference when it comes to Standard Scoring formats. Song Review: Tedeschi Trucks Band - “I Walk on Gilded Splinters” (Live, Oct. 1, 2024)
Few songs swagger as confidently through a thick, deep groove as Tedeschi Trucks Band’s “I Walk on Gilded Splinters.”
With two drummers and two percussionists; three horns; five voices; alternating guitar solos from Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi; and Mike Mattison’s rabidly raspy vocal prowess, the 12-headed monster that is TTB overflows with Dr. John’s gris-gris in the performance video captured Oct. 1 in Boston.
It’s so deliriously overpowering that the drummers seem like they might bust some heads on their kits; Mattison’s fellow choir singers cry with delight as their shaker and tambo add to the wall of sound; and keyboardist Gabe Dixon is on his feet before it all ends.
“I Walk on Gilded Splinters” is virtually guaranteed to be a show highlight anytime TTB brings it out. Even in that context, this one is extra-special.
Grade card: Tedeschi Trucks Band - “I Walk on Gilded Splinters” (Live - 10/1/24) - A+

genuine question. what the heck happens with FNAF after 4? what order are we supposed to play the games in/read the spinoffs for after that? is there anyone who makes lore summaries for the series that isn't Mattison Pattison?
You came to the right man. Explanation below
Order
G: 1, 2, 3, 4
B: The Silver Eyes, The Twisted Ones
G: Sister Location, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Sim, Ultimate Custom Night, HELP WANTED, then the AR one I haven’t played or seen yet.
Alright, so. Scott Cawthon has said before that the first 4 games are kinda meant to be their own story, with the other tie in stuff coming in as another whole thing. The first books, The Silver Eyes and Twisted Ones and the other one, are like... a canon AU, with the first 2 books sticking very closely to the first 4 games. Same general events, just... shifted around a bit. Some of the stuff in it shows up in later games and here’s the parts that matter
1.) The Killer, the Purple Guy, has a name now. His name is William Afton. He’s a mess and I love him. Used to be a kinda jolly chunky guy who co-owned Freddy’s, killed kids, almost got found out but got away with it, comes back into town years later with a fake identity looking all skin and bones to... be a security guard at a mall, and I guess go into Freddy’s every few nights to just taunt the animatronics? He does a funny bunny dance. Also he’s obsessed with his co-owner, and wrote rambling diaries about him. Also he killed that co-owner’s daughter but shhhhhhhhhhhhhh
2. That Co-Owner, Henry. He’s... sad. His daughter is dead and he’s sad. Book Henry does some real weird stuff about it in book land, but, that doesn’t matter. Just know, Henry is Really Sad, doesn’t like that Will killed his daughter and also 5 other kids, and is not feeling the best right now.
3. Henry’s daughter, Charlotte, or Charlie! I... like her book version. But I’m not even touching that stuff and how she’s a character while being killed when she was, like, 3. Game canon, she’s dead puppet kid, that’s all that matters.
4. The Nightmares from 4 were just weird, kinda-hallucinations. If the kid had shot them with Gun it’d have been fine. The twisted ones are just alternate nightmare animatronics and they follow the Gun Rule so I assume that applies too.
5. If you know anything about Book Michael, ANYTHING at ALL, just forget it. There’s too many Michael’s and Mikes in this series, we don’t need the dead 7 year old getting mixed up in there.
So, that’s the two books that matter, and the one that doesn’t, boiled down to their essentials. Onto the games.
Sister location is next. It’s a stunning game, if you at all feel like you’d enjoy watching it, do it! But, the PLOT!
William Afton killed a kid Remotely with Robot, but accidentally killed his daughter Elizabeth! Oops! Years later, his son, Michael Afton, goes down to the storage area that the robots that his dead kid sister is possessing are being housed and tries to put her spirit back together... somehow, I think.
Anyways, Lizzy is smart, and puts herself back together by mashing all the animatronics together into a spaghetti thing called Ennard, but doesn’t have the best eyesight as an animatronic.
So, she mistakes Michael, her brother, for her Murder Dad, and scoops out his internal organs, crawls inside his boy, and walks out of the facility wearing her brother’s corpse like a skin suit. So, Ennard’s existence is an “innard” pun.
At some point, corpse rots, Lizzy and Animatronic Co vomit themselves out of his body and into a sewer to become a Sewer Spaghetti Animatronic. Michael picks up his Boneless Body and walks home, Somehow Still Present In His Rotting Corpse, and gets so mad at his dad over it that he spends 5 nights at each Freddy’s trying to hunt his dad down and chew him a new one for Everything He’s Done.
Elizabeth gets kicked out of Body Spaghetti, builds herself a better Baby animatronic, and also becomes a punk rock goth teen. Michael, meanwhile, finds his dad at Fazbear’s Fright from 3 and torches the place to kill him, but that sadly doesn’t work. Michael doesn’t know that though, so thinking he should get a nice, relaxing reward for a job well done, invests all his Corpse Money into staring a Freddy’s franchise of his own.
Enter, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Sim. Also idk if I mentioned it yet but this series takes place in Utah (at least according to book land), but the Aftons are all very posh british accent wise, and you need to know that.
So, LONG STORY SHORT. Henry, that co-owner from the original Freddy’s in the books that never showed up in a game before? He’s here now. Basically, Henry put up ads for making a new Freddy’s, knowing Michael would be the only person reckless/dumb/brave/indifferent enough to sign up, and simulated a fake pizzeria filled with fake children, to attract all the remaining animatronics (who want to really murder those fake kids) to it, so Henry Could Finally Finish This, for once and for all.
As Michael designs his dream pizzeria from his little office in the vents, Baby, Spaghetti Ennard that is now 100% Funtime Freddy (aka best freddy) Controlled, Springtrap (now Feral and called Scraptrap), and this Cool New Guy Called Lefty show up to much on those kids! Lefty is... well, it’s Henry forcing the puppet, his daughter, into a Beartrap. A Bear Suit trap. So, animatronic-inception.
Once they all get there, if you learn all the secrets from the creepy attractions, Henry decides to call the series quits, and sets literally everyone, you included, on fire. Also himself, he was in the vents too. He tells Will to go to hell, then lets you all peace out in the flames together, like One Big Happy Afton Family + the man your dad was obsessed with for years and his kid + a screaming bear
And then Ultimate Custom Night. it’s just William Afton in hell. He’s not like, alive or anything. No. He’s just dead, in hell, and suffering. There’s not that much plot tbh. It’s just hell. It’s a nice hell.
The Vr game, Help wanted, is... i really don’t know what the whole plot consensus is on this one yet? You Play Game, but Uh Oh, William Afton cursed a floppy disk and now he’s in game in fursona ai form trying to take over your mind so he can do more murder. He succeeds with one lady called Vanny, and like, idk much from there. I like the art of him acting as like, a sleepover-delirious best friend to Vanny though. Also Vanny is also a furry. Her fursona is white rabbit.
I have to stop it there because i can and will ramble about this for forever. If you want I can ramble for longer if need be. Let me know if the need is be.

Farquadd’s Taliban Army vs Cirockville Glizzy Goons
OKAY Getting pretty fucking tired of tumblr and starting to realize this was a horrible idea but its too late now so fuck it Chris vs Samivan. The controversial problem child vs two just very nice boys. Samivan you really decided to give it to me las week didn’t ya? twisted me up like a soft pretzel and covered me in your hot butter no matter how hard I fought it wasn't enough. Just couldn't resist humiliating me like that could you? This game is gonna be okay Henry is gonna run the ball over a strong buffalo D. Mike Evans and gonna get 2 TDs. this will only be interesting if Dalvin cook doesn't play. If Mattison rides the bench Chris takes this 112.9 - 89.3

How's a man supposed to love a girl When she's playing with my emotions? You take her in and you give her the world Now she's playing with my emotions It never entered into your plans Like a ship tossing out on the ocean You cross the desert just to be her man And now she's playing with my emotions
Pin me down when I'm trying to move Is that what you call gratitude? Well you're playing with my emotions Playing with my emotions
Don't mind me, I'm on my way 'Cause you're playing with my emotions
How's a girl supposed to love a man When he's playing with my emotions? He's flying home but he never lands Now he's playing with my emotions A dozen roses but your phone don't ring And he wants to call that devotion Apologize but he don't change a thing And he's playing with my emotions
Pin me down when I'm trying to move Is that what you call gratitude? Well you're playing with my emotions Playing with my emotions
Don't mind me, I'm on my way 'Cause you're playing with my Playing with my emotions Playing with my emotions Beg and plead but you're too late 'Cause you're playing with my Oh, my emotions
