Katsuki is holding the bag of liquid that USED to be gold bars. He stares at it in utter disbelief. “So you’re telling me THIS is gold?”

“Yes. The molecules-“

“No, no, no. This looks NOTHING like gold turned liquid!”

“Well, technically it’s not gold anymore…”

“…” Katsuki takes a deep breath. “Okay. This is fine. I am fine. We can adjust the ray and fix… this.” His assistant knows his rage can get out of hand. So when he came back with mush? He was expecting to get beaten. “Either way. I have to go.”

“Oh! Laundry day, right?”

“Yeah…”

“Good luck!”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever.”

Katsuki may have a crush. This cute freckled boy who shows up at the laundry mat with cheeks so biteable! He can’t take the need to be with this boy. But, he has yet to even introduce himself. He stays four to five feet away at all times and observes him like an absolute creep. But by god he can’t get enough of him. The only reason he goes to this laundry mat is for him! He has his own machine at home!

He’s going to have a heart attack if he keeps watching this cute nerd chew on his lip while mumbling to himself about heroes. Fuck, he hates it but loves it at the same time!

He hates it because he’s a villain! The heroes he talks about are all douchebags behind the scenes and Katsuki has seen that first hand. If Izuku only saw what he saw, they’d be ruling the world together!

But for now, he’s stuck attempting to get a word out. What is he supposed to do when those big green eyes stare at him?!? He freezes! He mumbles! He becomes an absolute FOOL!

Katsuki’s goal is to be a member of the Evil League of Evil. Their boss, Bad Horse. He WILL join them! All he needs is a big break! And this Freeze ray will do it! He knows it will!

He just has to intercept the van!

Long story short, that was both a failure and success. Success in the fact that he got the stuff, but failure in the fact that now his nemesis Captain Hammer has been introduced to his crush. And now they’re dating.

He’s been stalking them for days and watched as the asshat has been acting like an angel in front of his crush! He can’t take it!

He decided to take a break. He needs to focus on getting into the ELE. But right when he tries to use his new freeze ray, he finds out at the wrong time that it needs to warm up.

Bad Horse requires blood. And Katsuki usually doesn’t kill. But if he kills his nemesis? He’d do it. He feels the evil growing inside of him. He needs to do it. He can’t take it. He will.

So, now that the lying asshat has set up a huge ego boosting show for himself with the new homeless shelter, Katsuki has a plan. And it WILL work.

Captain Hammer, the egotistical bastard is singing a song, being distracted. Katsuki watches as Izuku walks away. Oh no he’s really gonna kill the bastard. He humiliated him!

Freezing him was easy. He was distracted. And maybe singing a song about how evil he is and how Captain Hammer will die wasn’t wise. Maybe wasting all those shots to scare the crowd wasn’t wise either. As now he’s on the ground after the freeze ray ran out, his death ray aimed at his face. But the first thing he noticed is that the ray is overloaded. If it’s fired, it’ll explode. “Hey-“ he tries to warn. But it’s too late. The devices explodes, sending Captain Hammer back.

Katsuki stands up and can hear the bastard sobbing. He wasn’t even bleeding! But before Katsuki can get angry, he notices Izuku in the back of the room. With shrapnel in his chest.

He feels like the world freezes. Everything slows down. He walks over, his hands shaking in fear.

“Kacchan? Is that you?” Izuku spits up blood, his voice weak.

“Deku… Deku! Please! Oh god…!”

“Don’t worry, Kacchan. Captain hammer… will save… us…” his eyes go blank. Katsuki stares at the rapidly cooling body. The corpse of his love. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want this!

But to the world, he got everything he wanted. He got into the League. He got to be the best villain. He defeated Captain Hammer. He did it. He accomplished his goals.

But what did he lose? What did it cost?

Now he has nothing left to lose.

Nothing.

He feels…

Nothing.

Every inch of Izuku Midoriya loves every inch of Bakugou Katsuki.

He sees passion in his rage, ambition where others see arrogance, and the overpowering desire to fight the world and make it do the right thing.

He loves every flaw, too. If something so deeply imperfect can be so amazing, then, there’s hope for less special things, too.

Sometimes, thought?

“You shitty ass loser, I TOLD you to stand back and let me handle it for you, but NOOO, stupid fucking Deku just HAS to fight a villain on a broken leg, doesn’t he,—“

As if I haven’t been through worse,

He really wants to clap back with that;

He also wants to live past 20.

“Kacchan!”

Izuku whips around, still supported by a strong arm around his waist, bringing his hands together imploringly, “Can you please. Be soft with me? For 3 seconds, that’s ALL I ask.”

It’s not that he doesn’t want to hear Kacchan nag him, — it’s his favorite activity, besides, maybe, being a hero, — but he’d just. Like the princess treatment.

A little.

Katsuki pauses. Heart red eyes soften significantly, the faux anger and annoyance glazing over into warmth,

“I love you, baby.”

Izuku’s lungs stop, for a beat, “Oh, Kacchan—“

“Three seconds over. Now listen here you little BITCH—,”

Izuku would scoff. If his heart wasn’t turning into liquid love, pulling the blonde down for giggly kisses, that is.

I head-canon that Monoma has a part time job as a quirk specialist and/or counselor. Because of his quirk, he's able to quickly analyze what a quirk is and how to use it effectively and efficiently. So when a kid's first quirk comes in and they are unsure of what it is or someone in general has a hard time controlling their quirks, Monoma will help them by copying the quirk and help them figure out what it is, how to use/controll it, etc...

Monoma was inspired to start this side career when Aizawa asked him that one time to copy Eri's quirk so they could figure out more about it (it is one of my favorite parts in the series).

Side note: Monoma is as much of a quirk nerd as Midoriya is, notebooks and all (he's just a bit more subtle about it lol). During school, Midoriya and him would have long discussions about quirks and their applications, bouncing off ideas, comparing and exchanging notes, etc... And even after school, they try to meet up at least once a month to catch up and discuss quirks. If one of Monoma's patient's quirk is particularly perplexing, he will call Midoriya for a 2nd opinion, and vice versa with Midoriya's students.

spoilers for chapter 429

idk if you guys remember but ochako does have parallels with All Might, specifically as the side who saves. It’s not that he feels the same for them both or something like that, they serve to represent the type of heroism he naturally goes to; his friend is not his love interest, from his perspective she’s out there having a crisis over not being able to save her, and Izuku reminds her that she is a hero bc she is his hero -she saved him multiple times, and she should be able to feel like a proper hero.

This conversation is not about the nature of their relationship, is about heroism; Izuku relates to a conflict between being a hero who saves and failing to save someone, and doesn’t want to see Ochako ending spiraling because she couldn’t also fulfill that role as expected. She’s his hero not because he loves her romantically -he’s a nerd I’m sure he would be way more nervous and blushing if he was confessing anything he thought was romantic- but because she’s able to go and do what All Might does to Izuku, save him physically and emotionally.

He knows she hides her feelings in order to not be a burden, yet he doesn’t talk about his own feelings outside of his guilt in heroics -what does he feel about losing OFA? About his own failures? About the people he personally lost? He can’t talk for others and claim Ochako is everyone’s hero, but he can speak for himself, and that’s his personal perspective -she is a hero to him, she’s his hero. And then the class appears to make sure she’s able to get support and understand she’s not alone, and she’s important to them too.

but Izuku doesn’t get support. Izuku cries a little and talks a little about himself, but he doesn’t get supported. If this was meant to be romantic, I don’t understand why he would hold back what’s inside of him.

the end of the chapter reveals that boy is going to be helped by that woman who regretfully ignored Tenko, and they both witness it and are happy about it while hearing izuku inspired that change, and iida wonders what’s up with them -this is the conclusion to their relationship. In their hearts these two are saviors who struggle to be heroes who save others, and they are happy there are appearing more people who want to be heroes like them. Heroes who save. Save like All Might.

That grandma for example, interpreting the narrative as what I think is intended, would be that boy’s All Might; she’s his hero.

Izuku and Ochako are heroes who save, and Deku is here to remind her at least she did save him many times, that she is still a hero because she is his hero. I don’t believe is meant to be interpreted as romantic, not that Izuku sees that phrase as it neither -after all, he said he does want to be like All Might and feels good to imitate him, but he doesn’t love him.

Ochako’s All Might hair moment, the parallels with Toshinori telling him he can be a hero, the trying to save from black suffocating quirks, the we can do it and do your best…

Do I need to remind you heroes arent a romantic thing for Izuku Midoriya?
