i feel like for those eight years bakugou was nervous about asking deku to work together and he confides in todoroki because 1. he's their mutual bestie and 2. he's wonder duo's biggest fan. and todoroki has to constantly tell bakugou not to worry and that they know him best and he's obviously gonna say yes. only for that cursed day to come and bakugou calls todoroki to vent and he answers the phone like "see i told you he was gonna say ye-"
