So. I updated Windows 10, as I do every month. Noticed that the Photos app got a very ugly and ad-filled update. Didn't like it. So, I installed Photos Legacy. Now, my image icons (not the thumbnails) all look like this.

Hey, I said loudly. I have two computers of the same model with the same software. One suddenly has switched all jpg jpeg png files to microsoft photo. The file names no longer appear in default file associations. The other still sees them. The image viewer I have used forever is no longer opening these files by default, it's all the blursed microsoft photo viewer. It's printing ability sucks. I wanted to print a 3.5 inch bank deposit receipt and it insisted on 8.5 inch print. I can "open with" but that's a pain. How do I nuke this shit????

I finally had some time for my new old friend last week end. I had a few problems including the disk which is not recognized each time by the bios. No bad sectors. It may be the disk controller card. I also had problems with the Cirrus logic graphics card which is an ISA VLB. I removed all the memory chips that were on removable slot and deoxidized everything. DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 are now running great. Next step is to run some old games
