Back Comb to the Future

HAIRSPRAY Birmingham Hippodrome, Tuesday 17th September 2024 I have lost count of how many times I have seen this musical.  It seems to tour and tour non-stop, filling auditoria wherever it goes.  As soon as the curtain goes up, I’m reminded why it is irresistible. The score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman is packed with great tunes and witty lyrics.  The bangers just keep coming.  And…

i watched Gorillaz' weekend 1 performance at Coachella last night bc it's the closest i'll come to seeing them in concert(for now, i hope they tour again this year) definitely watching next week if it's as lit as last night. here's some of my favorite moments from it:

●Damon's outfit(and his tattoos! i didn't even know the man had tattoos?)

●the energy of their bassist(Seye Adelekan)

●how professional and fun the choir were

●Damon going into the crowd and security having to keep a close eye on him lmaoo

●Thundercat and the band vibing during Cracker Island

●Peven Everett, Bootie Brown and Jamie Principle giving their ALL(and getting nothing in return🥲)

●Damon trying his best to get the youngins to bounce during Andromeda(i was bouncing in spirit)

●The cute lil band animations for Skinny Ape that alluded to the Times Square debut performance

●Damon screaming APEAPEAPEAPEAPEAPE and progressively losing his coherence

●Damon's keyboard work on the Tormenta bridge/outro section

●the 'for Missy' before Melancholy Hill(and Melancholy Hill in general🥹)

●the choir member(Michelle Ndegwa)giving her ALL during Kids With Guns

●How equally drunk Damon and Slowthai were

●Del Tha Funkee Homosapien's appearances(still don't know why they couldn't do Captain Chicken smh)

●De La Soul performing and having fun despite the loss of one of their members(and the lovely tribute to him)

●bonus: jamming out and screaming with people on the discord server
