Why will I always be salty at Pete Parsons and Bungie's upper management? Because they laid off Michael Salvatori. Michael Sechrist. Lorraine McLees. And at least (2) community managers before Destiny 2 was nominated again for "Best Community" at the Game Awards. They also did the layoffs with little to no warning, just before the holidays, at the end of the month when benefits/insurance wouldn't roll over, AND after they said there would be "absolutely no layoffs." Regardless of how well/badly D2 was doing, I will never not be salty about that decision. They didn't want to "overdeliver" or even just listen to feedback*, yet they blamed devs for missing 45% of projected sales and laid them off?? And might not credit them in Final Shape??? Yeah, I'm taking potshots at Parsons whenever I feel like it. 🧂

I'm very normal about how they reprised (and complimented) Unseen in Diffracted Truth. You can hear it best in the low beat in the background, but the vocals themselves are almost turned upside down on each other. The unseen truth is diffracted; revealed in distortion.

Not that I would expect a million dollar company to understand, but you just kicked out some of the BEST people and creative visionaries your company had, you literally shot a rocket point blank at your feet. Your community managers took all the hate and tomatoes thrown at them, everytime a small but loud % of the playerbase threw a tantrum, and this is the thanks they get?

Removing Michael Salvatori and Michael Sechrist is beyond any words I can muster. Your musical geniuses for a game that’s known for it’s incredible music…I’m vomiting…

Additionally I’m upset that I'm only now reaching a skill level where I feel more confident to take on larger variety of Destiny fan art, but the recent layoffs are incredibly insulting and damaging to my love for a game I've spent 8 years adoring and inspired by…I’ll be creating a few personal pieces that have been waiting too long to be created, and then I’ll be taking a break from Destiny fan art I suppose…

michael salvatori has made so much memorable music but remembrance from the taken king will always have a special place in my heart. beyond the fond memories of d1 and the good old days, it makes me feel like i’m up there in the stars and looking down at earth below. i have insomnia and i listen to it to all the time to fall asleep, and in the early morning when i can finally close my eyes, that piano is always what does it. i’m still so sad that they laid off salvatori and sechrist. there’s lots of talented composers in the world but no one who understands destiny on a fundamental level like they do. i think in the next few days i’m gonna post different songs from the ost and waffle about what exactly i love about them. god damn, do i feel sad.

Zavala stands there for a moment quiet as a hunter approaches.. his eyes widened a fraction seeing them remove their helmet.. shocked that shes shown her face. Most guardians hide themselves from the world.. "... what is it?" Zavala asks her gently, knowing full well just by the look on her face she was upset after a recent mission..

"Everything..." she sucks in cool air trying to calm herself, "its too much.. amanda.. cayde.. Rasputin.. my fireteam... so many...have died..." her words were laced with some form of desperation or sadness.. he could hear the catching in her throat. "I can't break this ice that has formed in my chest... the heaviness... the burden.. it's too much.. I'm just one person.." the hunter had tears streaking down her cheeks..

He nods, understanding the pain Mist has been through. "... I understand your pain... But this is the burden the Light has placed on you and many others." He says. "...It is the duty of the Guardians to protect humanity, even when it seems impossible." *He says, trying to offer her comfort but unsure how to go about it. "...But it's important to remember one thing: You're not alone." He looks at her offering a soft smile,

Her eyes close and tears trickle down her face, her hair hangs loosely, his words weren't comfort.. "then why do I feel so lonely.. usually I'd go to cayde but he's been dead.. my fire team.. Amanda they're gone.. " she chokes on a soft sob, "I can't loose anyone else.. I'm alone.. I know hunters are loners but I'm not..."

Zavala is at a loss for words. He kneels down in front of her and wraps his arms around her, hugging her tightly. "Mist... I know it's hard... But you need to stay strong. It's what Cayde would've wanted you to do." He says gently, hoping that his words can be of comfort. "You're not alone.... I am here with you, and so are the others at the Tower. We care about you." He looks at her and speaks with his heart to her.

The hunter melts into his hold, hiding her face in his shoulder as she silently cries, it's the first physical contact she's had that hasn't been a blow, hit or shot blast.. For now she's just quiet, holding onto pieces of Zavalas armor as she quietly cries.

Zavala holds the hunter close, allowing her to cry into his shoulder. He doesn't usually do this sort of thing but others don't seek comfort in him often. So it was a odd but nice change of pace..happy others saw it in him again. His eyes soften and speaks quietly to her, not as a commander but a friend, " I'm here... I'm here with you..." He says, trying to reassure her. "You're not alone... and I won't leave you. We Guardians are in this fight together. You mean a lot to all of us." He says gently, trying to bring some light into the moment.
