Tremors 5: Bloodlines

Get your tickets and quick, for they will sell faster than Noblestalk in Baldur's Gate! Premiering live at the Rondeau Ceremonial Ampitheatre: Chromatic Panic, featuring songs and ballads from across the realms.
- Lucretious, Ringmaster of the Circus of the Last Days, speaks of a famous, interplanar, all-dragonborn band of performers and their upcoming concert debut.
Cast and Crew: Michael Galladion, the Gentleman (My OC); DUrge (a.k.a.: Jah'Qen Viserys), the Showman (Re-imagining of the BG3 Dark Urge); Eligar, the Pleasureseeker (OC of @predninja); Nadaar, the Professional; Zeri, the Diva. (Last two are OCs of Discord server friends).
-----
A crack art idea I've been piecing together for the past, what, 2 weeks now? Courtesy of @predninja for giving me the showerthought, as well as a few key art techs that helped put the piece together. (Has anyone ever told you that dragonborn kissy-face with the BG3 detailing is heccing HARD AF to get to look right? Like, holy hell the amount of redraws just to get something not derpy was pain.)
I won't lie, getting back into drawing again - especially with good people there to provide support - has been nice. Can't wait to see where the muse takes me next.
Was particularly proud of the pearl nails on Zeri - for some reason (I think it's because the effect carries through extremely well and the color matching was just perfect). Got some minor details I'd want to practice again in future sinc ethey came out a touch jank, but otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with the result.

Just a little personal project I’ve been working on … forgive my jank ass writing its 2 am
Oooughh the ultrarot has seeped into my original writing (i wanna explore angels and heaven as flawed characters and a setting ehehhehehe)
Grace is the only human I have so far and I don’t know MUCH about her but she’s a college student (idk what career she”s going for I’m thinking either medical or legal) and being like.. early 20’s? she finds the pressures of adult hood increasingly intimidating, especially moving out of her mom’s place and into a college dorm.
Here’s Grace’s weird ass, 19 year old, fresh out of duel enrollment dorm mate, Eliot, except they’re not because they’re just Archangel Gabriel in a human disguise.
Heres his Angel form (I based angels on spiders heheheheeheh) Gabriel is based on a white wolf spider
Fun fact about HBAT’s heaven: God can die! In fact, how it works is that “God” dies every 2000 years, and the highest ranking Angel at the time take’s “God’s” place.
For the past what every fucktillion years, this has worked out, but once the most recent god, Gauden, begins to die- I’m still thinking abt this buuut- Archangel Michael kiindaaa CRACKS UNDER THE PRESSURE OF INHERITING RESPONSIBILITY OVER EXISTENCE AS WE KNOW IT?????
And the next highest archangel was Gabriel but Gabriel saw this going down and decided to head down to earth and 200% ignore his rapidly approaching angelic duties!!!! But then comes the pressures of pretending to be human getting overly wrapped up in the act golly I write a lot of storied about some sort of inhuman entity pretending to be human and miserably flailing don’t I haha
Ahhhhh Gabriels…. Ultrakill or not… they are fucked up … it’s law
Ohkay one last character design this is Galen aka Archangel Azreal the Angel of death. I based them on the Australian funnel web spider The deadliest spider on Earth.
They’re so sweet though I have several thoughts about them.
I envision that when it’s someone’s time to go, she visits them, praises them for walking through life, and gently bites their neck to, for a lack of better words (cause it’s 3 am) put the final nail in their coffin.
So yeahh that’s all for now but I have so much more including more Angel designs, God: Gauden, and big sentient spiders with pen features (they judge humans) OKAY it’s 3 am gn
#oc art#omg my first original non fandom post what do I do???#art#uhh fuck fuck fuck HOW DO TAG NON FANDOM ART????????????#angels#spiders#oc lore#thought dumping#WHAT ELSE???#lore dump#?#Hanging by a Thread#making a tag for my self ehehehehehheheh 🤭#3 am thoughts#3 am ramblings#yup thats me#WOW THATS A TAG?#god#??#horror#???#kinda?

HIIIIIIIIIII it's me again!!!! followup question!!! for Foster!!!!
i remember a comic of him taking out his eye, and the the portrait of him you included in my last ask had one of his eyes looking like Nick's - is there anything there? did Foster take one of Nick's spares or Nick hand it over willingly? woaugh much to think about ... ........ .. (rotating him in my brain) (not a microwave i don't want him to explode)
YAYYY I GET TO TALK ABOUT FOSTER MORE !!!
Not quite! See, since Foster is such an old synth, they’re in a pretty constant need for repairs/replacements! Fairly often they’ll go on small ‘shopping trips’ where they go on a spree of picking up ‘junk’ out on the wasteland and making use of it, whether that be trading, selling, mechanic work, or stashing for later.
On one of these trips- long before they initially grouped up with Antonio and Michael- they came across a dead gen 2 synth. From this corpse, they snatched up their silly Mock-Nick eye and and ! actual unique vocal chords! They’d had their silly missing eye for a while now, so the replacement was a welcome gift- though the sight in that eye is still pretty. damaged… janked up chords and all that. The voice box was helpful though! Made it so Foster could actually speak without being immediately known as a synth (though it will occasionally glitch out/stutter but,,, ‘that’s a problem for another day’ Foster says, genuinely on the verge of tears)

my current project: jump forever!
this is the first of those scheduled posts i mentioned earlier!!! i figured i would start by talking about my current project - that way i can start posting updates about it without confusing you, Michael. The next post is gonna be about the beginning of this whole Godot thing i've been on, and then i'm thinking about maybe doing a Before Godot post as a bonus once i've talked about all my godot stuff (i love saying this as if anybody cares (besides you, Michael)). setting all that aside, though: this one's gonna need some backstory, so you should buckle in.
around this time last year, me and my little cousin (he's still in high school, but we've always been pretty close) got really competitive about a little game called Jump Forever. it's a side minigame from WarioWare Mega Microgames (the GBA one) where you just jump over a little rope until you fuck up. it's really fucking fun as an addictive little mobile game, and with a quick lil emulator it was one. thus, the addiction began.
truth be told, the phase last year didn't even last that long, but i had a long bus ride a couple of weeks ago and found myself opening the GBA emulator on my phone to pass the time. that led to a little bit of playing at home, which led to beating my cousin's score, which led to getting even more into the game than i was before. as our scores get higher, we've turned to better controllers than a phone touch screen for serious record attempts - i use a ds lite i had lying around (that i reshelled! it was very fun) and he emulates on pc with a controller (i think). this got me thinking about a potential "definitive edition" of the game - probably still on mobile, but with controller support, better touch controls (the game only needs <-, ->, and A!), faster resets, selectable skins, and maybe even unlockable skins? of course, when i finished my work on fnaf (ooh foreshadowing), my sights were immediately set on a Jump Forever remake.
with all that said, welcome to the game as it currently stands! at the moment, i've got wario, the rope swingers, and the score all just about set up, with one exception; the characters have collision, the rope swings (at varying speeds, even!), and wario's speed and physics feel very accurate - but i'm still working on the ai (if you can call it that) of the rope guys as they walk back and forth. i want it to work exactly the same way as it does in the original but i always overthink random mechanics like this. hopefully the next update i give will be about how i cracked it! even if the implementation ends up jank, though, it wouldn't be the first: the rope guys check if wario is too close to them to make it over the rope with an Area2D that just checks for wario when the rope hits the ground. it works! i could just like check wario's position in the code (and it'd probably be way more efficient), but this way just... works.
i still have a buncha crap i still gotta implement before the game's even really playable - the walking ai, the title screen, the little "Ready?" animation, etc. - but that's only the beginning of my work. firstly, i'm probably gonna enlist chloe (oooh foreshadowing) to help me out by drawing some new assets (if she's free, it is finals season), and then changing the game's native resolution from 240x160 (the GBA screen) to something not fucking insane. i've got "reworking all the sprites into easy to read spritesheets" on my to-do list, and after that, making the new assets (and then maybe the skins?) will be as easy as drag & drop. once it's got the new assets and all the polish that needs to come with a shiny new resolution, i'm gonna transition into the next phase - researching how to release a game!!!
[hi, not to ruin my own amazing transition but: it's 5am and i'm running back to edit this because i completely forgot to mention that i have currently implemented a 2 frame input delay on all inputs, because that's how the emulator appears to behave when i go frame by frame. every single day i rethink this decision more and more. surely there's no way that's how it's supposed to be, right? but i feel so weird changing it now!!! i definitely fucking have to though. next time i work on it. ok anyways]
now. i've posted games to itch.io before. but even then, i kind of fucked it up (i could never get the resolution of my web games to work right???) - so it's no surprise i've always been completely daunted by the idea of "releasing a game". when you post it on real stores, that's when it becomes... real. i'm excited about the new challenges it'll pose, though! now, a mobile release means a couple of things - bite sized fun, simple progression, and fun customization. i've already got the first part nailed down, and i figured i could nail the other 2 at once with a currency system based on how many points you get (or maybe even an xp system? that goes up 1 for each jump? maybe even both???) and skins (purchasable with said currency) that let you customize the player, rope swingers, background, and maybe even the rope itself.
pictured above is my stupid ass skins mockup (i literally just made this). the rope is rainbow, the background has a snow effect and a bunch of snow on the trees/ground (isn't it great?), wario is a lil version of the rope guys, and the rope guys have santa hats. i'm not sure how many different ropes you could really make with how i'm planning the rope to move, so i'll probably end up prototyping the graphics with chloe to figure out how to lay out the sprite sheets, and if they should actually have a seperate hand-grabbing-the-rope sprite for skin purposes. it'll definitely make things really confusing, but if i go for a mobile release i don't want to run ads, and so a currency you can buy with real money (and maybe one or two goofy supporter skins that cost real money, like a solid gold guy or something, as a form of donation) is a good way to make a lil bit of money from people who like the game.
all of this is fun to think about, but it's important to remember that the next thing i have to do is that walking ai. i've gotta Make The Fucking Game before i can do all this crazy other bullshit. i'm sure the ui design for all this is gonna be soooo fun, but i need a game to attach it to first :p
this went on reeeally long but i figure if this is a dev diary or w/e it's gonna end up running long no matter what, and the more info, the more i have to look back on fondly and say "oh shit, i know exactly when this was!", which is kind of the end goal of the project. of course, these incredibly long posts about shit that only matters to me are also incredible content for you, Michael, so i'm sure you're just eating this shit up. enjoy, you weird little man.
#game dev#jump forever#godot#yeah yeah i got some real tags too. just in case i actually need em.#also michael's still here. i think he's funny#it's only been like an hour for me soooo#remember when i said it was 1am in my first post? it's 4am now lol#i looove tags i love rambling under my post where people don't feel obligated to read it#nobody ask me why i have the stickmen swinging the rope instead of kat/ana like it is after you beat them#(he said as if anybody would've noticed)#i think the stickmen are so much more awesome and the fact that you can't get them back is SO FUCKED UP#and lowkey one of the things that got me thinking about Jump Forever Definitive Edition#kat and ana are awesome the stickmen just resonate with me deep in my soul#i'm not proofreading this i'm just hoping it sounds good. really putting the “diary” in “dev diary”#man. im so glad michael is the hypothetical ideal viewer. because that means he's reading all the tags too#hi michael! ur the best :)#scheduling this for saturday at noon (it is currently friday at 4:30 am)#i hope i get the chance to write the next one (about that 2D platformer tutorial!) before like. monday.#god knows i'm not doing my homework lmaooo#when's my next therapy appointment?#that's crazy deep lore we can't get into that on post 2 (honestly post 1)#but it's okay because nobody reads the tags#and that's not even considering that nobody is ever gonna read this post. ever.#besides michael.#but michael knows all about that ;)#or maybe he doesn't... and it's a sexy mystery?#my my i am such an enigma#okay fuck i can't keep adding tags i need to sleep#i really hope tags are collapsed by default or michael's timeline is gonna be in shambles

BOTD: Northern Cardinal
Photo: Michael Janke
"One of our most popular birds, the Cardinal is the official state bird of no fewer than seven eastern states. Abundant in the Southeast, it has been extending its range northward for decades, and it now brightens winter days with its color and its whistled song as far north as southeastern Canada. Feeders stocked with sunflower seeds may have aided its northward spread. West of the Great Plains, the Cardinal is mostly absent, but it is locally common in the desert Southwest."

this is the finished mask that i posted about earlier, with the red paint touched up and evened out, a coat of sealer applied, and the old thin elastic headband that was attached with hot glue replaced with a stronger elastic band attached with actual stitching. note that my skill level at sewing hovers somewhere around "can successfully push a needle and thread through fabric without sticking his own finger approximately six out of every ten tries" so the stitching is super jank and isn't good by any means, but the mask held for my entire shift at work so it worked enough for that at least. my "costume" was extremely thrown-together at the last minute because i didn't even plan to do anything for halloween until like 48 hours beforehand so aside from the mask i wore my oldest pants, the most worn and threadbare hoodie i own, and a solid color t-shirt. not super accurate, but at least not something terribly out of place. if i'd had more time maybe i could have gotten my hands on a prop machete or knife or something to carry around to add to the look but whatever, it was fine for being so last-minute
various reactions i got at work:
like five different people thought i was Michael Myers, which makes some sense because Jason doesn't have much in the way of hair while mine hasn't seen scissors in months, but Michael Myers' mask is solid white and covers his whole head. it took a few movies but Jason's most iconic look is the hockey mask with red chevrons. totally different guy
one guy walked up to me and said "hey, Freddy!" with all the confidence in the world. it was still early enough in the shift that i was still trying to stay dedicated to the bit and maintaining Jason's silence so i just gave him a nod. Freddy's the one with a striped sweater, a fedora, and knife glove, and kills people in their dreams, and also he talks a lot. Jason has the hockey mask, kills people in the waking world, and doesn't talk pretty much ever. again, completely different guy
at least nobody thought i was Leatherface, even though my physique is definitely closer to his than Jason's. for those keeping score, Leatherface wears a tie and an apron, and someone else's face like a mask over his, and kills people with a chainsaw because he's also a cannibal. i haven't seen a Friday the 13th from start to finish in a long while but i'm pretty sure Jason doesn't eat people and might not actually need to eat at all because he's undead
one guy took one look at me and wanted a picture of me standing there menacingly in front of the meat counter. that was fun
i think the best reaction i got all day was the older guy who saw me and did a full-on hands on head, knees knocking, fingernail biting cartoon scaredy routine like something out of Luigi's Mansion

1. Common answer is that the pyramids represent strength, but the reality is that whoever designed the bill probably just thought it looked cool
2. There are literally Antarctic excursions happening now.
3. The weather in Antarctica is incredibly hostile, there is very little visibility, there’s little to no infrastructure for an aircraft to communicate with in case of an emergency, the magnetic field fucks with the navigational tools, etc. etc.
4. Because those cameras are fucking jank compared to today’s technology? It was an accident dude. Shit happens.
5. The person who held the camera was Michael Collins, who flew the module around the Moon taking photos and video while Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the surface. Collins was incredibly critical to the mission.
6. NASA ended the moon missions due to lack of funding and public support. However, we are actually going to be returning to the moon in a year or so via the Artemis program!
7. Species evolve based on habitat and ecosystem changes. Technically the monkeys we see now actually evolved from the same monkeys we evolved from.
8. “Junk” is just a misnomer for the part of DNA that is non-coding. It is not useless and in fact plays a huge role in regulating gene expression.
9. People can find absolutely incredible solutions to problems, no matter the time period. Just because they didn’t have modern technology doesn’t mean they were all complete idiots playing in the mud. Constructing buildings hasn’t actually changed all that much. Structures such as counterlevers, manually operated cranes, scaffolding, and lifts have existed for centuries, and the only requirement for making them is a basic understanding of physics.
10. A lot of ancient architecture is similar mostly because there are certain shapes that are more structurally stable than others. You’ll find that triangles appear a lot because in physics triangles have the best support against forces like stress and strain.
11. Drawing a round shape with wings isn’t rocket science dude. For all we know they could have been depicting kites or really fat birds.
12. A lot of the myths behind giants typically comes from ancient people finding bear skeletons and other species with similar bone structure to humans.
13. I don’t know how to tell you that mushrooms have existed for thousands of years.
14. I don’t know how to tell you that Ancient Egyptians STILL HAD JAWBONES
15. Common theory for that is ancient people finding dinosaur skeletons such as Pterodactyls and thinking they’re dragons. The actual lore of dragons comes from people telling each other stories and those stories getting handed down orally.
16. Because alternative music is popular? It’s a genre preference.
17. Have you ever had the urge to punch someone who was really annoying?
18. The Simpsons has over 20 seasons and hundreds of episodes. Of course it’s going to accidentally predict something from time to time.
19. This one doesn’t even make sense. Fire doesn’t melt a car to the ground. It scorches the metal and melts anything super flammable like fabric or plastics, but it doesn’t completely destroy the structure of the vehicle.
20. Other countries like China
21. Taxpayer money goes into a multitude of programs including military, education, NASA, etc. Debt is so bad because the US never actually pays any of it back like they’re supposed to and just keeps spending what they don’t have.
22. It’s not normal, it is considered poisoning, and literally every single school in the US hosts seminars about why they’re bad.
23. Same reason as sex and violence, it’s a thing people do.
24. They… don’t? It’s very formulaic yes, but they’re not saying the exact same things.
25. The rates are appearing to be higher because we are actually informed enough to be aware of the existence of these things and can identify it easier. People still had depression and autism 100 years ago, they just called it witchcraft or demons.
There, all of your dumb questions answered from the perspective of a very, very tired Aerospace Engineer who is very sick of conspiracy theories.
Questions To Ask Ourselves:
1. What is an Egyptian pyramid doing on a US dollar bill?
2. Why did 56 countries sign a treaty not to take risks and enter Antarctica?
3. Why do planes never fly over Antarctica?
4. How did NASA "lose" the photos of the moon landing, one of the most important moments for humanity?
5. If Neil Armstrong was the first to walk on the moon, who held the camera?
6. Why haven't we gone back to the moon?
7. If monkeys evolved into humans, why are there still monkeys?
8. Why does 95% of our DNA exist as "junk"? Who decided it was actually "garbage"?
9. How were huge, symmetrical, detailed, sacred, and geometrically regular structures such as cathedrals and parliamentary buildings created by people who lived in log cabins, rode horse-drawn carriages, and had no machines or lasers?
10. How is it that similar pre-Columbian architecture is found all over the world?
11. Why are there images in ancient Egyptian art that resemble "spaceships"?
12. Why were remains and images of giant people found? And why do different ancient scriptures from various cultures, including the Bible, talk about giants?
13. Why are there images of mushrooms in ancient Christian art? And why does the Pope dress up like a giant Amanita muscaria mushroom?
14. Why do ancient Egyptian artworks show jaws, and is it a coincidence that the pineal gland resembles jaws?
15. Why are there descriptions of dragons all over the world and in different cultures, thousands of years apart, and also mentioned in the Bible?
16. Why is there so much blatant satanic symbolism in the music and entertainment industry?
17. Why do most video games revolve around killing?
18. How is it possible that movies and cartoons like The Simpsons can predict certain cultural events so accurately?
19. How do forest fires melt cars but leave trees intact?
20. What is the national debt? If there is a borrower, there must also be a lender: who is it?
21. How is it that the so-called "national debt" has increased despite tax increases? Where does the taxpayer's money go?
22. Why is alcohol and tobacco poisoning considered "normal" and referred to simply as "drinking" and "smoking"?
23. Why are alcohol and tobacco shown in almost all shows and movies?
24. How do news presenters around the world and on various channels say and repeat the same script word for word?
25. If we are more progressive and informed than ever before, why do we have the highest rates of obesity, cancer, and heart disease, not to mention depression?
Questions you should have already been asking yourself and there are many more you should be asking. 🤔
#‘educate yourselves’ bitch what#I’m majoring in fucking aerospace engineering I think that’s pretty damn educated#maybe do some research that doesn’t come from fucking TikTok or Reddit for once

Project 33: Archangel Michael as depicted in HSent. Not quite as gumpy, ergo a lot more tolerable.
This was my first time making a character with wings; not 100% about how they turned out, but "wings made entirely of jank" is better than "where the fuck did they go". He got an actual braid, too, since I was anticipating that his wings would make a stuffed abstract braid like Dante's inconvenient.
(Dunno how well it shows up on camera, but I also used my silver tinsel yarn for his armour. Plain grey doesn't catch light as well.)

LIMBO producers Strut & Fret to open new venue in Brisbane

LIMBO producers Strut & Fret to open new venue in Brisbane
For years, Brisbane-born production house Strut & Fret have wowed audiences at venues all over the city, but will soon open a venue of their own in Brisbane’s West End.
Following the unprecedented success of Strut & Fret’s own Sydney theatre, The Grand Electric, the producers of global hit shows like Blanc de Blanc and The Party will open their own permanent, 400-seat theatre, The West End Electric.
The new live entertainment space will open its doors on Boundary Street on August 29 for Brisbane Festival.
Strut & Fret will premiere their smash-hit circus-cabaret, LIMBO – The Return at the West End Electric, and then the venue will stay open.
LIMBO – The Return features an international cast of circus performers and the music of New York’s Jank maestro Sxip Shirey.
The original LIMBO toured the globe, taking its stunning fire-breathing and gravity-defying stunts from Brussels to Bogota.
Madonna loved LIMBO so much when she saw it in London, that not only did she see it twice, she later invited Strut & Fret Creative Director Scott Maidment to direct highlights of her Rebel Heart World Tour.

Scott is also the director of the reimagined LIMBO – THE RETURN.
“We have been blown away by The Grand Electric’s success since it opened in Sydney last year,” he said.
“It’s quickly established itself as both a smashing venue for our own shows, and a venue for other players like Michael Cassel (Titanique) and Sydney Comedy Festival.
“Brisbane is where Sarah Stewart and I founded Strut & Fret in 1997. It’s also our home city, where we grew up and where I still have a home.
“Since then, we’ve become a major producer of live entertainment, touring to 38 countries and creating hugely popular festival event hubs like The Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide and New Zealand’s Bread & Circus.
“We staged our first Brisbane Festival production over 25 years ago in 1998. So it feels very fitting to launch The West End Electric with this year’s festival.”
A stylistic nod to London’s own West End
Multi-talented designer James Browne will bring The West End Electric to life with uniqueness and flair.
“You can expect a stylistic nod to London’s famous West End theatre district,” James said.
“It will be chic and luxurious but with the essence of historical vaudeville, bohemian hedonism and abandonment.
“The space itself will be immersive, full of surprising elements that are unforgettable.
Scott said the production house are hard at work getting the venue ready for Queensland audiences in August.
“Expect a cracking cocktail list and the kind of experiences that have you on the edge of your seat – starting with LIMBO – THE RETURN,” he said.
“This is a high-powered extravaganza that will leave you gasping for air and begging for more. Chances are you’ll want to see it twice, too!”
Head to The West End Electric at 125 Boundary Street, West End, from Thursday, August 29, 2024, opening with LIMBO — THE RETURN at Brisbane Festival. Tickets on sale today at www.thewestendelectric.com
