Last week at Miami Art Basel. This day was enlightening for me, observing the work of all the talented, brave people made me realize I have been a coward. I have always wanted to share my artsy/crafty creations, display them, share them, sale them…. but I’m too afraid of harsh judgement. But why? Art is an expression of ourselves, if people love it, great! It they hate it, good too. We should make art because we love art, because we enjoy the process, arts or crafts or the act of being creative makes us happy, despite of what others may think of feel. So I’m done being a coward!

(This pic also made me realize I need to start eating better and exercising. Well, lies, I already knew that! But this his pic proved it bc for the first time in my life I can see very obvious “love handles” Lol)

"THE SUBCONSCIOUS"

Originally from a small coastal town near Barcelona, Ewkuks says Saturno's imagination was provoked by "contemplating the illuminated signs announcing the weekly films, which because of his young age, he was unable to watch." Now based in Los Angeles Saturno partnered with @SuperchiefGalleryLA and traveled to Wynwood for @ArtBasel 2019 to create this large work at @ManaWynwood . Describing the composition Saturno says "it is deep down in our subconscious that we receive the most purest essence of who we truly are." Using the Gator to reflect the Florida setting Saturno used a teapot on its back to represent the mind "always boiling, without rest" and gold armor to represent the everpresent subconscious "guiding us towards the most positive and correct side of our lives."

I have an exciting announcement to make to you all. My first solo exhibition in the U.S. will be held in Miami. Art Miami + CONTEXT Art Miami is only 18 days away. I will be showing a new work that combines the beautiful traditional Japanese craft technique of kumiko-zaiku with motion, a new motion sculpture, and a new physical augmented　sculpture housed in a glass case.
