Şekil A1’deki uzun menzilli su tabancam Trendyol’da “eğlenceli ve coşkulu yaz günlerinin vazgeçilmezi” başlığıyla satılıyordu ama ben neredeyse ağlayarak aldım sayılır. Pazar gecesi önü arkası tam bir kedi yuvası olan bahçemize önlü arkalı sürü saldırdı; Badem, Şımarık, Çitlembik, hepsi öldü sanırken gün aydınlanınca sadece bir kedinin cansız yattığını gördüm sokakta, onunla da henüz hiç tanışmamışız :(

İki gecedir su şişesiyle bu gece de su tabancasıyla nöbetteyim. Dün gece gelen giden olmadı, ondan önceki gece de Şekil A2’deki arkadaş tek başına uğradı. Önceki gün kediyi öldürenlerden biri bu. Soğumamış öfkemle “şşşt yine mi sen, git olm hadi burdan” falan diye seslenmemle karşıma yatıp kuyruğunu sallaya sallaya bana bakmaya başladı. Baya da durdu öyle, o kadar kalbim tükendi ki ne olursa olsun hiçbirini diğerinden ayrı tutamadığımı anladım. Ona öfkelenmeye hakkım da yok ki - ekonun düzeni bu.

Yine de uzun menzilli tabancamla nöbetimi sürdürüyorum, kulağım üç gündür hep dışarıda. Artık civar semtlerdeki köpek seslerini duyacak kadar kulak yaptım, kedilerime bir kere daha ilişirlerse acımam, sıkarım. Kimseye zarar vermeyecek şekilde işe yarayacak tek yol suymuş.

spanish checklist for a1 (and slightly a2) level: vocab, grammar etc.

hey!

i have completed covering the a1 level of spanish (and also covered 1/4? or less maybe of a2) so here is a checklist with everything i learnt.

note: at the end of the post there's a link with a google doc where every item on the list is expanded as well as i could expand it (for example, you'll find examples for conjugation etc). if you need to track your progress, please make a copy of it (you won't have access to edit it otherwise).

Greetings and basic introductions.

Personal pronouns (yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros/nosotras, vosotros/vosotras, ellos/ellas) and verb conjugation in the present tense.

Basic vocabulary related to daily activities, family, numbers, colors, food, and common objects.

Describing people, places, and objects using adjectives.

Forming questions with question words (¿qué, quién, dónde, cuándo, cómo, etc.) and question formation.

Demonstrative adjectives (este, ese, aquel) and possessive adjectives (mi, tu, su, nuestro, vuestro, su).

Basic verbs and expressions for expressing likes, dislikes, preferences, and opinions.

Telling time and talking about daily routines.

Talking about hobbies, interests, and free time activities.

The MiG-25 Foxbat

In the late 1960s, the USSR revealed the existence of the aircraft that appeared to be the world’s deadliest fighter, the MiG-25 (NATO reporting name “Foxbat”). This aircraft could outrun any fighter in the air, and indeed any military aircraft other than the SR-71 Blackbird.

Linda has a personal relationship with the SR-71 because her father Butch Sheffield flew the Blackbird from test flight in 1965 until 1973. Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.

Loaded with two R-40 missiles (NATO reporting name AA-6 ‘Acrid’), the Foxbat could reach 78,000 feet, but with its full complement of four missiles, it was limited to 68,900 feet. By contrast the Habu flew at cruise speeds above Mach 3 at over 80,000 feet.

Nevertheless, once an SR-71 Blackbird flown by Col. Darrel Cobb was fired on by a MiG-25, as Cobb himself recalls in this interview given to his son Chris;

‘Operational missions.

‘First let me assure you; we never broke President Eisenhower’s promise to cease overflying the Soviet Union. We remained over international water – 12 mi offshore.

‘All of my operational flying was from Kadena, Okinawa. Area of interest was Vietnam; Korea; Vladivostok, USSR; China. Later, we flew transatlantic & return from Seymour Johnson, NC supporting the Israel Arab war. After I left the program, the SR flew from Mildenhall, England & Bodo, Norway.

‘We already touched on missions against Vietnam & the only night mission.

‘Today let’s cover “north missions.”

I flew this profile several times during the 4 years I flew ops missions. One of these got very, very thrilling. Southbound, passing Vladivostok, Reg (my RSO) announced;

‘”We’ve got a fighter locked on – it’s gotta be a MiG-25″

‘”Our DEF [Defensive Electronic Gear, DEF. It Provided ground-to-air and air-to-air missile protection. Still Classified. Def systems were labeled DEF A,B,C,E and G. Later modifications to the DEF Systems resulted in DEF A2, C2, H and M systems. Nearing retirement of the SR-71, a programmable DEF labeled A2C could defeat all known threats to the Blackbirds] is blanketing all beautifully.”

Fast forward to late 1976 Col. Cobb retired from the Air Force.

‘I find the aircraft TV channel & history channel. Lots & lots of SR-71 films. I avidly watch at every opportunity. In my den, glued to the TV & today’s SR-71 show, & who do I see comparing the MiG-25 with the SR-71??

‘You’re right – – Lt Victor Belenko!

‘He was totally gobsmacked; his MiG-25 burned up the engines getting to Mach 3 yet the SR’s cruise speed was greater than 3.0.

‘Belenko is the one who said that the Holy Grail of soviet air defense was to shoot down an SR.

‘He told of how they would pre-position ahead of the SR’s radar track and had to zoom up to get a lock on & fire their missile.

‘Belenko stressed how quickly & precisely they had to perform because the window of opportunity was so very short.

‘Their target was traveling at 3600 ft/sec. Faster than a speeding bullet.

‘He described in detail how precise the post firing breakaway had to be executed to avoid getting shot down by their own missile; talking as though they found this out the “hard way.”’

Cobb Concludes;

‘Man talk about intense attention – – I’m quickly mentally replaying that tape from the inter-phone – –

‘”We’ve got a fighter locked on – it’s gotta be a Mig-25″

What happened to the missile fired by the MiG-25 Foxbat at the SR-71 Blackbird?

What happened to the missile fired by the MiG-25? Could it have locked onto the Foxbat itself? Could the SR-71 DEF have deceived it? We’ll never know.

However, we can assume that given that SR-71 had a cruise speed faster than the top speed of the MiG-25’s Acrid missiles, the Blackbird simply outran the AA-6. There was no chance a Foxbat could conduct a tail-chase interception of an SR-71 (the MiG-25 couldn’t carry out a head-on intercept of a Blackbird too: in fact, the Foxbat’s radar and fire control system was not sophisticated enough to solve the problems of a head-on intercept at closing speeds that would exceed Mach 5).

Entraste al departamento, estaba vacío, hiciste una mueca, se te hizo raro, se suponía que Steve debería de estar esperándote, quedaron en ir a cenar a un restaurante, le enviaste un mensaje a Sam, tal vez él sabía donde estaba o quizás necesitó de su ayuda.

CARA "PAOLA EGONU..."

(...le spiego io che cosa fa veramente schifo)

"Cara Paola Egonu,

le sono vicino per tutte le indicibili sofferenze che ha subito nella sua vita. E che ha denunciato nell'intervista a 'Vanità Fair', invocando addirittura l'apocalisse (testuale: "Mondo di m. Spero che arrivi l'Apocalisse").

Ma resto un po' perplesso quando lei si chiede se "vale la pena far nascere bambini e condannarli all'infelicità", aggiungendo che non vuol far vivere a suo figlio "tutto lo schifo che ho vissuto io".

Resto perplesso perché lo trovo offensivo nei confronti di tutte quelle mamme che, proprio ora, in questo momento, stanno mettendo al mondo figli in una situazione almeno tanto difficile come la sua.

Magari sotto le bombe in Ucraina. O in un villaggio sperduto dell'Africa. O anche soltanto in un quartiere della periferia di Milano dove non si arriva a fine mese.

Capisco che per lei sia più dura che per tutti gli altri per via della pelle nera.

Ma le assicuro, per riferirmi ai gravi episodi di razzismo denunciati nella sua intervista, che anche a me è capitato di ricevere un caffè freddo al bar e persino di rimanere chiuso fuori dalla banca, pur essendo colpevolmente bianco.

Per solidarietà nei suoi confronti, comunque, sono andato a rivedermi per intero "lo schifo" da lei vissuto nei suoi primi 24 anni:

-a 14 anni è entrata nel Club Italia

-a 15 anni ha avuto la cittadinanza italiana e la serie A2

-a 16 anni la serie A1 e la nazionale italiana

-a 18 anni è stata premiata come miglior giocatrice italiana

-a 19 anni come miglior giocatrice europea

-a 21 anni ha lavorato in un film della Disney

-a 22 anni ha presentato 'Le Iene' in prima serata TV ed è stata portabandiera olimpica

-a 24 anni sale sul palco di Sanremo.

Ha vinto due scudetti, due Champions League, cinque Coppe Italia, quattro Supercoppe, un Campionato Mondiale di Club, un oro alla Nation League, un oro agli Europei, un bronzo e un argento ai Mondiali ed è stata nominata Cavaliere della Repubblica.

Per essere uno "schifo" non c'è male.

Per carità tutto meritato, tutto conquistato. Ma, vede, siccome studia psicologia, le consiglio di pensare l'effetto che possono fare le sue parole sulle persone meno fortunate o meno dotate di lei.

Con tutto il rispetto per le difficoltà che lei ha incontrato, se la sua vita è "uno schifo" che cosa dovrebbe pensare una ragazzina nata paraplegica e inchiodata alla sedia a rotelle? Ne ho incontrate tante sa?

Nessuna di loro ha mai messo in dubbio l'importanza della vita.

In genere mi hanno regalato un sorriso.

E poi le chiederei un po' di rispetto anche per questo nostro mondo, prima di invocare l'apocalisse. Lo hanno costruito i nostri vecchi, con il loro sudore, e fa male vederlo disprezzato così da lei.

Mio nonno Lello, per esempio, ha cominciato a lavorare a 7 anni, ha faticato fino a 80, si è spaccato la schiena in fabbrica e nei campi, ha costruito case, piantato alberi e vigne, non si è fermato neppure quando la malattia lo costringeva a camminare con due bastoni fra atroci sofferenze.

Ebbene: non gli ho mai sentito dire che la vita era uno schifo. Mai. E ha accolto ogni nipote come una gioia infinita.

Questa è la differenza fra lei e lui, non il colore della pelle, mi creda."
