SIX WEEKS (8 YEARS) OF BREATHING CLEAN AIR / I STILL MISS THE SMOKE
touya todoroki x reader
you finally bring yourself to visit your husband in the hospital.
mha official ending spoilers
part 2/3, part 1
inspired by the black dog
Tumblr media
what a long 8 years.
touya’s defeat came at no surprise to you. as much as you wanted to root for your husband, to hope he achieves the twisted, revenge-filled dreams he dedicated his like (death) to, you knew his attempts would be futile.
you knew that the moment shouto’s fists connected with your husbands, it’d be over. the flames would subside, and dabi’s fiery reign would come to an end. for just a moment, in the midst of the blue and red flames, you saw a glimpse of two broken brothers. just a glimpse.
what followed wasn’t any less heartbreaking. touya was kept alive in his own, high tech cell. though he had made sure to keep you hidden from the world, you heard from short whispers that there was nothing that could be done about his current state. he could only manage a few words, his vessel slowly slowly dissipating into nothing but ash.
you absolutely could not bring yourself to visit. not in any of those 8 years. maybe its because you knew you could very well be hearing your last words from him soon.
too many memories engulfed in fire. his arsons match and your tear-stained eyes, watching it all helplessly.
so for as long as you could, you stayed in your house, grieving for the living.
until now.
it wasn’t a surprise you were eventually found out. when you opened your door, expecting the mail, you were greeted with a familiar face- not when you were angry about seeing, but not particularly delighted by any means. his dual coloured eyes and scar similar to that of your husbands- not by look but by origin.
you honestly couldn’t remember how he convinced you to leave your home. he may as well have dragged you by your feet, into his car and to the facility they were keeping touya in. this man was technically your brother, too. but seeing him felt like a wound reopened.
touya laid there, his body weak and emaciated, as the machines beeped and whirred around him, monitoring his vital signs and keeping him alive. a futile but admittedly impressive effort by his rich father, wanting to somehow make amends. everyone knew, however, that he was not saving a life- he was prolonging a death. the death of his firstborn son, to be exact.
his mind was hazy, his vision blurry as he struggled to keep his eyes open. the sound of the machines became a constant, familiar background noise, almost like white noise.
as he laid there, fading in and out of consciousness, one thought ran through his mind again and again: you.
while you stood outside the room, touya’s barren body laid in his tomb. his eyelids could hardly closed, so he was more or less forced to take in the grief-stained drywall. he thought about you, every single day. wondered where you were, how you could be doing- he hoped it was better now that he was gone.
your hand was wrapped shakily around the doorknob. just one twist and push. but it felt as though that door was made of iron. why was it suddenly so heavy? why was it being weighed down with the weight of your love and grief all rolled into one?
“…i don’t think i can do this.” you say shakily, a single tear rolling down your eye at the thought of seeing your dying husband after all this time.
a hand is placed on your shoulder. a comforting touch, like one who is learning to navigate through the grief alongside you.
shouto stood silently beside you, his expression stoic as he waited for you to make a decision.
he knew how difficult this must be for you, the years of pain and guilt weighing heavily on your shoulders. if he was grieving a man he hardy knew as his brother and more as a villain, he couldn’t even grasp how his wife must be feeling- someone who had loved him despite it all.
“you can do it.” he says softly, his voice firm but gentle as he tries his best to hold it together. he doesn’t want you to face this alone, though he knows he cant enter that room with you.
“you’ve made a good name for yourself.” you say, acknowledging shouto’s growth. at least one of the two brothers can still live, still be happy. “no one even calls you endeavours son anymore.”
he nods silently, his expression softening slightly at your words.
“i guess so.” he said quietly, a small hint of a smile on his face. he doesn’t dare to jinx his success. “ i’ve… i’ve tried to separate myself from my father’s shadow, to be my own person.”
he says for a paused moment, looking at the small glass panel that gave a window into touya’s room, his hand still resting on your shoulder.
“but t wasn’t easy. it never is.” he says, taking a deep breath before speaking his next piece.
“the doctors think they can buy him a few more months, maybe.” shouto reveals. the extent of your absence towards your dying husband finally begins to sink in. you waited until it was almost too late to see him. its a guilt like no other. what could you possibly say about to him after all this time?
“…i’m going in.” you say, pushing the door open and letting it close behind you with a click that rings through the room.
theres constant whirring and beeping from the technology keeping touya breathing. he lays there, his body held together by planks of metal and wiring. god, as morbid as it may seem, you wondered why they were even trying at this point?
he doesn’t seem to notice you, not till you walk closer to him. its hard to move his head with that brace around his skull, anyway.
his eyes weakly tracked your movements as you weakly made your way over to the bed, pressing your hands against the glass keeping him inside of his pod. he recognizes you, because how could he not? he married you, after all.
“…hey.” you manage, despite the dryness on your tongue.
your heart clenches as you watch him try and respond. his throat was dry and raspy, like his quirk had given him sandpaper for lung. he was forced to swallow several times before he could even mutter a word.
“hey..” he finally croaks out, his voice barely above a whisper, hoarse and strained.
you take a deep breath, silently cursing yourself for your already shaky words.
“you look like shit.” you have the audacity to chuckle at him, the numb laughter devoid of any empathy. you were grieving, grieving yet angry. as much as you understood and wanted to understand, he still left you.
touya would be nothing if not an asshole.
“thanks, doll.” his voice almost mechanical. “..don’t look too hot yourself.”
there he is. that smartass touya you love. his quick tongue and his smart heard, smarter then he lets on. you love his remarks, his sass, his demeanour. and it seemed that even through all this pain, he still managed to give you some of it.
the tears are already sliding down your cheeks, knowing that this is likely the last time you’ll ever get to feel it.
and for a moment, through your hazy eyes, a silver glimmer catches your eyes.
“…you kept the ring..?” you have to rub your eyes, unsure if its just a grief-stricken illusion.
he scoffs, as if it should be obvious. “yeah… course i did.”
his time is running out and you both know it. you cringe watching his weaken state, trying to slide the ring off his finger. you quickly hush him, your delicate hands carefully reaching into his pod to help him remove the band. though most of his nerves are killed off, he feels as though he’s truly lost his favourite part of him.
his eyes continue to grow tired, but me fights them valiantly to catch a glimpse of you slipping the ring onto your own hand. he had taken that part of him, and given it to you.
you sob, pressing your forehead against the glass. your hand just barely grazes his, feeling the charred skin you still loved, no matter how dead.
“i love you.” you sob, baring your soul to your husband. his eyes close, feeling the exhaustion sink in- but he can’t give in. not when this is his last chance to see his wife.
despite the pain and the knowledge of his imminent death, he manages to find his voice and responds, his voice hoarse but filled with a raw intensity of emotion. he’s doing everything to stay with you right now, though you know it can’t ever make it up.
“… i love you… too…” he croaks, letting what soul he has left reach itself out to you.
“and i’m so mad at you.” you sob. “not just you… i’m mad at the world.. i’m at the world that let your father get away with abusing you and breaking you down.. i’m mad at the world that didn’t see you were a boy who needed help. i’n mad at the universe for not giving you and i a chance… i’m mad at your god damn fire for taking you away from me.”
your tears slide down the glass, only continuing as you see his eyes close. he’s still breathing, yes, but either he was so exhausted from fighting death, or he couldn’t bare to see you in this much pain. probably both.
“i know… i’m… sorry…” he prays you know how sorry he really is. for doing this to you. for exposing you to the evil of the world when he should have been protecting you.
“..don’t cry..” he rasps, asking more for him than for you. you scoff.
“i’ll cry if i damn want to, touya.” you chuckle. “i lost my husband.”
just for a second, its almost like he smiles.
“you… still… call me.. that?”
without a trace of hesitation, you nod. “of course i do.”
he’s having trouble forming his next words and you can tell. you know you have to do it. you somehow have to say goodbye.
“i love you, touya todoroki. i love you so much.” you declare, showing your soul to him right before he enters the afterlife- maybe so he knows to look for you once your time comes as well.
“…i… love you.. too..” he rasps. he’s trying and you love him for it, despite the sobs that choke out of you seeing his struggle just to speak.
“i’ll never ever, ever forget you. i wouldn’t dream of it.” you whisper.
“you better not…” he rasps out weakly. what a fucking smartass you married.
you cant kiss him. but you do press your forehead and your lips to the glass, and give his hand once last squeeze. you have to rip yourself from the room and out the door, otherwise you might have stayed in there forever.
the door clicks behind you. a breath escapes your lips, knowing that you have truly said your goodbye. you still clutch his silver ring on your finger.
the ring served as a reminder. that no matter what happens now, a part of your soul forever belonged to touya todoroki. that no matter how many of your clothes you burn and how many exorcisms you perform on your house, the love you shared with touya will never leave. no matter how much clean air you breath, a small part of you will always miss the smoke he gave. always.
you vowed to never forget him, anyway.

Bakugo Katsuki: Sando
Fandom: BNHA // MHA — [ Masterlist ]
Warnings: None
>>>>——————————>
Tumblr media
Bakugou wasn't one for obvious favourites, like or dislike was enough if he was ever forced to answer. However, this quaint café located in his patrol quadrant was an entirely different story and he'd frequent it often whenever he was nearby, though only on certain days.
If anyone ever asked about it, Bakugou claims that the freshly made spicy katsusandos there were the ideal lunch / snack for patrol. Mina and Kaminari have also been recommended the cheesecake due to his knowledge of their sweet preferences.
Today it was your desperate voice that made him pause at the open door after taking out a low rate villain, furrowed brows accompanying his stoic expression.
"Can I make one more katsusando - real quick?"
"We've sold out. We don't normally—" That was your supervisor, he knew of that extra but not by name.
"I know, I'll make it myself I swear, just one more."
"Alright, you know where the stuff is. Clean it once you're done." Though they sighed exasperatedly, it seemed you were pleased with the acceptance.
A noise of agreement echoed, then a cluttering of pans which he'd assumed was your doing, if you were making your lunch the he might as well come back later.
Except by the time he’d explosively shot back across the city hours later, barrelling in a minute before closing with smoke spiralling from his entrails, only you remained with the same welcoming smirk you always greeted him with - and one neatly wrapped spicy katsusando expectantly held out to him.
“You made it huh? Lucky, you got the last one.”
There was always so much he'd aimed to reply with that’d be cool or impressive, but as always he limited it to the same response, one day he'd think about changing that - just not now. Not with you leaving his mind annoyingly blank and heart frantically racing because of a damn sandwich.
"Thanks (L/n)."
Huh. Usually it was extra.
Yeah. Bakugou Katsuki had a favourite café that he frequented on certain days. But most definitely, only for the katsusandos.
The ones that you make.

[Keigo Takami x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: His sudden presence and lack of enthusiasm has left you in a state of not only confusion, but also major concern.
WC: 1142
Category: Angst, Hurt/No Comfort, Established!Relationship
Oddly enough, this is the first time I have ever written for MHA (technically, on this blog, it’s the first of everything). How interesting
『••✎••』
You didn’t know how to react when you saw those familiar pair of wings outside of your small apartment’s patio. The odd part wasn't that he was here, but it was the fact that he wasn’t even interested in going inside.
His back was turned, staring out into the city lights. And from the way he leaned against the railings, his head slumped forward; you could tell he wasn’t in the mood for talking. Hell, he probably didn't even want to be here.
So why was he?
Your chest heaved with every breath you took, and you didn’t even realize that you were inching towards the door until the breeze of the cold night bit at your skin. Your eyes narrowed, and you quickly went inside to grab a jacket, then stepped out.
And even with the loud, quite possibly obnoxious slam of the door, he didn't bother to move his head and acknowledge your presence. His wings remained stiff, and his shoulders rose up and down. You could only presume it was exhaustion since he was probably out on patrol for hours.
And that meant he would most likely leave soon if his actions were anything to go by.
Your brows furrowed, and you walked over to him.
He didn’t look at you, and his gaze was fixated on the bustling city. You could sense the unease radiating off of him, and it made you frown.
He looked... defeated.
It was a look you’d hate to see. Especially when he’s always seemed to look on the bright side of things, even if they were the slightest bit grim. It was something that had always caught your eye about him. He was like a ray of light, even in the darkest of situations.
Optimistic, as he’d say.
But now, that ray of light had momentarily gone MIA. Jeez, to make it even worse, he looked exactly like Endeavor. That thought alone was enough to make your frown deepen.
You leaned against the railings next to him, and you couldn't help but feel slightly offended at the lack of response he gave you. He didn’t even give a single glance or even a small wave of acknowledgment.
It hurt, you wouldn’t lie. But you didn’t say anything. You just stared out into the city, just like him, and hoped he would notice your presence.
The wind picked up, and the cool breeze brushed through his messy, blonde locks. The moonlight bounced off of him, and it made him seem even more tired than he already was. He looked paler, too.
Had he always looked this sickly?
The silence was killing you, and it felt suffocating. It wasn't like him to not have anything to say, and the quiet was almost foreign. You had to say something.
You glanced at him and sighed.
"Commission?" You asked quietly, your voice low but loud enough for him to hear.
His jaw tightened, and he clenched his fists. The first acknowledgment he gave, and you could only assume it was a sign that you were correct since, regardless of your question, he didn’t respond.
So, you hummed in response and continued to stare out at the city. And truth be told, you should really do this more often. The view was magnificent; the lights from the cars gave off the impression of twinkling stars.
You smiled.
"I should really come out here more often," you started. "But given the last time I decided to lean over the railings, I think it'd be a bad idea."
You were sneaky, and it was your best way of trying to cheer him up. It was the story of how you two met. A story where you accidentally leaned over the broken railings one day and almost ended up a splatter on the streets below.
Of course, when his fine ass came swooping down to save you, you were absolutely flabbergasted. He was, too, as a matter of fact, but for different reasons.
You fell in love with his presence, and he fell for your… well, your chicken nugget necklace.
Yeah, he was weird like that. Unfortunately, you ended up losing that particular chain and the chicken nugget pendant after a few weeks of wearing it. But that didn't stop him from coming around to your place, hoping for the real thing.
But, anyway, back to the present.
You expected him to smile or maybe give a laugh or a snicker. Hell, a groan was something you could've dealt with.
But no, instead, he was as silent as the grave.
He didn’t even seem to care or even want to remember. And it hurt because you really loved that day.
It was a fond memory, and it was the start of everything.
Maybe that was why he was ignoring it, and maybe that was why he was acting so out of character.
Maybe, just maybe, he was here to end things.
You frowned, and you could feel your stomach churn at the thought. He wouldn’t do that, right? After all these years?
Surely not…
Ugh, why were you like this? Of course, he wouldn’t do that. There had to be another reason. It’s been too long for him to have gotten tired, and he wasn't that type of person.
Right?
"Um—"
"Stop with that," he interrupted, and you could feel your heart drop.
"I—" You were cut off yet again.
"Birdie, I can feel your heart rate rising from here," he said, and the nickname almost made you cry. "It's not that. It's never been that.”
Damn. He was a little too perceptive, but you guessed that came with being a hero. Then again, there was also the factor that you were extremely predictable. It was why you always lost to him when playing any card games.
"Oh." That was all you could muster.
He sighed, and he finally, finally turned his head towards you. You couldn't read his face, and you hated it. You were always so easy to read, but you couldn't even get a single glimpse of what was going on in his head.
Even when you knew he was hiding something, all you could scramble up were assumptions due to his single-word answers. It was frustrating, and you couldn’t stand not knowing.
This time was no different.
"Do you trust me?"
You didn't hesitate.
"Yes."
His wings fluttered, and he smiled. But it wasn't the usual bright, warm, and friendly smile. No, it was more of a sad, pained smile.
It was forced.
"Thank you," he said.
Then, before you could even say another word, he had jumped over the railings and was already gliding away.
Your brows furrowed, and you leaned further into the railing. You were sure whatever he was feeling was transferred to you because all you felt was a tight, painful ache in your chest.
So much for a one-on-one chat, huh?

"Canon" Perception: Why MHA's World Building SUCKS!
I figured I'd make this post because it's about time I discussed my views on "Canon" or as I like to call it
The Vanilla-verse
Why?
Because Hori's version of events feel like he opened a choose your own adventure game and clicked the most straight forward options available.
Quirk Awakenings Make No Sense (JJK mentioned)
@bibibbon might like this one.
It's no secret MHA's world building is, lackluster. It feels empty.
Characters not allowed to speak out or back against favored ones, Plot lines dropped, Victims shuffled off to the side.
But where Hori fails most of all is his power system:
But first Jujitsu Kaisen
Similar to Hori, Gege (I hope I spelled that right) also struggles with world building.
Firstly the concept of Cursed Spirits.
Monsters being created from "bad" or negative emotions can work as a concept. But it also heavily depends what is considered bad.
It could allow for the tackling of what makes emotions "bad" and tie in with the shows setting of a restrictive society that forces people to either mold to the pressure or be crushed by it.
Suppressing their true selves and emotions in favor of fitting in with the norm. (to evade social subjugation)
Instead, it demonizes what is a fundamentally intrinsic part of human existence, if nor most sapient life.
It also brings up too many questions that go unanswered: Like the historical implications. If spirits have been around for so long, then why aren't places like Japan (with it's bloody history and bleak present) overrun with then.
Why are spirits trying to replace humanity if humans act as the sole reason for their existance. After all: No Humans = No Cursed Energy = No Sprits
What exactly counts as a "negative" emotion and how much does it take to give birth to a cursed spirit. Stuff like that doesn't seem to have an answer.
[This is also coming from someone who has never interacted with JJK in their life]
Similarly Hori has the same problem with almost every detail in the Vanilla-verse. Stuff like: Eri's bullets, Quirk Singularity, Trigger and so, so much more is never elaborated on.
So pray tell, why did I chose Quirk Awakenings to be the subject of this section.
Because they prove that Hori has no idea what he is doing.
Quirk Awakening or QA's might just he the most frustrating thing in MHA. Doesn't matter if it's in Hori's-verse or someone else's.
It hardly fucking ends well and that's because it's so broad.
Take Himiko's quirk awakening.
Tumblr media
At first glance, it seems alright. A tad off but not something to raise hell about.
That is until you look at her quirk.
Tumblr media
Transformation is a quirk that relies on blood to work, Himiko cannot copy quirks partially because quirks are stored in the DNA of an individual and Transform can only copy the outward appearance of a person.
She needs to learn the individuals mannerisms and habits on her own, she doesn't achieve those by the default of her quirk.
(The same could be argued for her voice, it would be much more impressive if she trained it)
It would make much more sense then, for the evolution of her quirk to allow her to better mimic people. Expanding the scope of who and what she could change into and how accurately she could become a subject.
It also would fit the theme of 'becoming who you love' with the saying 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'
Instead, though. Hori decided to make her AFO lite and it is broken.
If she copies AFO, does she obtain his quirks?
Would her quirk awakening account for other quirk awakenings. Say she transforms into Shigaraki would she be as strong as him post MVA or would she be stuck with USJ-level Decay?
Ignoring the blatant retcon-ex machina of it being dependent on Himiko's connection (not like it mattered during the Forest Camp Raid!), It is massively over powered and it doesn't fit Himiko's themes.
Now, let's look at Twice.
Twice's quirk (Double) allows him to produce identical copies of anyone through a sludge like substance that excretes from the palms of both his hands.
Each copy is a little weaker than the original, if a copy makes a copy then that fragility doubles.
Twice's quirk is ties to his character by his trauma. To the point he's so fearful of turning to sludge, that he actively goes out of his way to avoid conflict.
This guy had to watch himself kill himself, clone against clone and until MVA, Twice isn't even sure he's the original.
Twice's quirk awakening works.
It works solely because of Twice's character and themes, it simply fits.
It makes sense, Twice was so traumatized that he actively suppressed a part of himself and by breaking through that barrier he can begin to grow stronger by accepting himself.
Twice's quirk awakening works because the peice were always there. It wasn't that Twice pulled this out of his ass, he earned it.
He not only unlocked a part of himself, he came back stronger. In this way the formula works
Quirk + Effort/ Character Growth = Stronger Quirk.
Rather than replace or rebuild, Twice's QA works with what was already present and it comes off wonderfully.
I wish I could say the same for our next "challenger"
I have plenty of complaints about Shigaraki as a character, plenty.
His quirk awakening is certainly up there, not on the top. But it's up there.
It takes the weaker aspects of what I mentioned above and uses it as a crutch.
Besides Shigaraki remembering and accepting his past, this QA has nothing going for it.
It's almost boring.
There's only so much you can do with a quirk like Decay.
All it does is expand the speed and radius. And while that works for what Decay is, a quirk made to destroy things. It's really boring from a story perspective.
Seeing Deika and later Jaku was cool, but just that, cool. It only really served to push things forward and what it pushed was horrendous.
Stepping away from the narrative side, let's discuss the In-Universe side.
Post MVA Decay has two advantages. It spreads really fast and it makes things explode:
So why doesn't it work like Twice's did?
Themes. Nothing about Shigaraki's QA ties in with the themes expressed in MVA.
As the protagonist of the arc, we should feel a connection with Shigaraki, but we never do. Mainly because we don't get that much time with him.
Besided the bonding he does with the LOV we are given little reason as to why Shigaraki ticks like he does, there's little to no theme-ing with Shigaraki.
Doctor Garaki says it best with this line:
Tumblr media
What does Shigaraki have to show us outside of his past and the PLF.
Hardly anything.
We know he's an avid gamer and likes to destroy things.
That's it.
Even Magne had something before she died, somekind of concrete goal that aligned with her character.
Tomura has nothing we can attach that to and as such his QA falls flat.
And this set the standard for every other quirk awakening in the series, no I'm not counting that monstrosity Hori bulled with Bakugo .
Uraraka's, Midoriya's, Shoto's (implied) Awakening, they all fall flat because they don't match the themes that were set literal years ago. Hori doesn't know how QA work despite having written them.
If your at the point where you, as a writer, don't understand your own in-universe system. Then maybe it's time you take away some stuff.
Why Shigaraki fails as a antagonist (featuring: Nine and Hana)
I already brushed the surface of this topic in the last segment. I'll elaborate on it here.
Shigaraki sucks as an antagonist. I don't like to use Reddit due to the attitudes on there but had found something while looking for information.
I managed to find a post that I think sums up my issues with Shigaraki pretty well, even if I don't agree the rest of the post (mainly blaming Shigaraki for Hori's failures)
The main one being what is the LOV even doing?
Spinner brings up a good point why do they even follow Shigaraki, what can he provide them as a leader that they can't get by sticking it out on their own.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki is spoon fed practically everything and once you notice, it kills any possibility of him being taken seriously.
Let's see:
Dabi, Himiko: brought in by Giran, AFO's associate.
Spinner, Mangne, Compress: Came aboard under the false pretense that Shigaraki had cooperated with Stain.
Gigantomechia: Kurogiri has to draw him out, gets arrested while doing so.
The MLA: Has to gain a quirk awakening just to match ReDestro's output and ReDestro hands him the keys almost immediately. Only reason the merger happens is because ReDestro and Spinner planned it.
Every single goddamn thing in this story is because of factors external to Shigaraki. He literally stands around until Garaki gives him a new quest-line like a fucking Bethesda NPC.
It was understandable in the USJ because Shigaraki needed to be introduced. He was at his base form and needed to grow, except that growth never happens.
The story just dances around him, he doesn't need to try because Hori will just force things to happen.
Tumblr media
The entire Jaku arc is him throwing a tantrum and the benefits just falling onto his lap. It is sheer luck that the public made that correlation.
Because the Nomu's behavior don't line up at all with Stains ideals. Nor does Shigaraki's "philosophy", and that was what partly triggered the whole Hosu arc in the first place!
Realistically nearly every member of the LOV should have turned tail the moment they met Shigaraki in person and spent time with him for over five minutes.
The LOV only exists and works because Shigaraki takes the backseat.
The entire Camp Raid, the focus is on everyone but Shigaraki who does fuck-all until Bakugo gets captured and we see him at the bar.
You could pluck Shigaraki from the arc and nothing would change because the central focus was on Dabi and the Vanguard Action Squad. How is anyone supposed to take Shigaraki seriously, when he is second fiddle to his own team.
And it's pretty much the same in the Overhaul Arc what does he direct contribute?
Again, nothing. I've heard the term 'Talk no jujitsu' used and it perfectly encapsulates his response to Himiko's anger.
Tumblr media
No one in the LOV has any reason to believe him, to put faith in him because the fuck up was so colossal.
Let's review:
Shigaraki knew someone (someone important, a villain) was coming, made no plan if things went south. Dabi had actually left the base to recruit on Shigaraki's orders! Meaning that Shigaraki is primarily to blame for the casualties dealt during this fight.
Already bad, but maybe he does something to reaffirm their belief in him as a leader. Nope.
His revenge plan hinged on Overhaul not deciding to kill two of his team members on a whim, or use them as bargaining chips. Sends them directly into enemy territory with no resources.
Tumblr media
Put his teammates on a position where they are forced to kill a hero in order to evade capture, making them a priority target for society at large* and further pushing them away from possible resources. (*A society, mind you that openly mutilates and kills outlaws)
His relationship with his team members is near non existant: from the Reddit Post
Spinner. Shigaraki plays videogames with him off-screen. Never even shows any concern for his whereabouts after Spinner starts losing his mind and almost goes full Nomu off of his quirks.
Kurogiri. Shigaraki never shows any wonder or comment as to Kurogiri's presence, despite the fact that Kurogiri was his babysitter for a long time and he apparently missed him after his capture.
Mr. Compress. Shigaraki never shows any wonder or concern as to his capture.
Dabi. Shigaraki never interacts with him in any way that suggests real friendship.
Toga. Shigaraki never interacts with her in any way that suggests real friendship.
Twice. Shigaraki never shows any kind of wonder or any concern as to his death.
Magne. Shigaraki never interacts with her in a way that suggests real friendship. Side Note: he never really reacts to her death either.
Y'wanna know who does have a relationship with his team?
Nine:
Tumblr media
Nine might be one of the few characters Hori has ever created that managed to make me give a shit about them outside of alternative (or fanon) materials.
He is everything Shigaraki tried to be as a character:
A solid goal: To create an ideal world for his allies and himself where their idea of the 'strongest' rule.
Connections: Everything Nine does, he does himself. His teammates ate intertwined with hin through their history, he actually saved Chimera's life and it's implied he also did this for Slice and Mummy.
Effort: Nine puts himself in harms way numerous times for the sake of his allies and their mission. He even goes through with Garaki's experiments knowing he will likely wind up as the experiment himself.
Nine is phenomenal for what he was: A character from a spinoff movie.

And then he was killed.
God Fucking Damn it Hori.
===============================
Something that always bothered me about the defaced All Might statue was the laziness of it all.
In a way it reflected the direction MHA was headed, headlong into a kerosene coatdd dumpster.
I Am Not Here.
That's the best thing you could come up with? The falling action of the Arc and all you could conjure was that!?
When MHA ended, I said no, no fuck that and began putting some of the concepts I had made during MHA's decline to good use.
The logical conclusions went into Crownless Monarchy. Which serves as a continuation to what Hori failed for finish.
The rest?
The rest had been going into a side project of mine called:
I Am Nowhere
Or Nowhere for short.
Total Timeline Derailment is a phenomenon I noticed pop up in specfic works.
It occurs when an author throws out all stages of canon in favor of crafting their own story and shedding the limitations of the source material.
The story of Nowhere starts off modestly, following an alternative line of events where Hana's quirk causes a much larger scale massacre upon it's blossoming and the expands to show just how different this universe really is.
Such changes include: Hana's quirk being named and shown:
Soundwave: evolution of Nana's quirk and takes inspiration from Hana's name meaning (Flower)
Present Mic and Jirou losing their quirks in their youth (or as an infant in Jirou's case)
Himiko's parents making a deal with the Symbol of Evil himself.
Expanding upon Doctor Garaki's past and friendship with AFO.
The Yakuza going a different route (Overhual gets a new brother)
An alternate USJ: Christmas came early
AFO and Garaki both having successors.
And a ton of other things I need to flesh out more!
One may wonder what this has to do with my critiques on Hori's canon.
Besides being a pitch of sorts, this allows me to elaborate on how Hori seems to make mistakes one wouldn't expect of someone with as many years under the belt as Hori.
The one thing Hori always forgets is consequences. In Nowhere, Consequences are everywhere.
Enji shipping Rei off to the mental ward to cover up his abuse?
AFO takes interest and decides to pull some strings to get Rei transferred to Jaku General.
UA slacks on security?
Ok! Just let Hana bring Warmonger (USJ Nomu) along and have her kill Thirteen and nearly kill All Might in the same hour. Oh, and Himiko is playing the insider (of her own volition)
Bakugo rejects Midoriya's hand?
His abuses attract the attention of the Pale Sculptor herself, leading to him loosing both his parents in a "gas leak" ignited when Marsaru clapped his hands and caused an mini explosion to occur. [They get Rei's version of Nomufication] setting Nomufication forward by a decade in the process.
Ideally this story won't leave things out. Speaking of that I have one last thing to discuss
The whole debacle with the Winged Nomu and how some people don't know that it's apparently supposed to be Tsubasa
Tumblr media
(yk the obscure character who only shows up twice and who we didn't get a name for until said reveal)
"What a Bomb to Drop", yeah it would have been better to "drop" it without needing to cram it into volume extras.
That right there is what gets me about Hori's writing, the lack of storytelling.
We shouldn't have an entirety different series just to understand why a character is they way they are (I'm looking at you Oboro)
I will say Vigilantes is leagues above it's parent series, even with the glaring flaws that plauge it.
Moral of the story: LEARN TO WRITE!

KVITRAVN - MHA VIKING AU • MY HERO ACADEMIA MASTERLIST
PREVIOUS CHAPTER • NEXT CHAPTER
ACT IV - IN THE VEIL OF DARKNESS
Tumblr media
Several days had slipped by.
Touya, consumed by the impending expedition, had become an elusive figure in your world. The anticipation of the journey ahead, alongside his youngest brother Shoto, Hawks, and a group of warriors, left little room for casual conversations. The Great Hall bore witness to his unwavering focus as he meticulously prepared, sharpening his weapons with an intensity that hinted at the challenges that lay ahead.
In the midst of the preparations, you frequently encountered Touya in the hall. His presence was undeniable, a brooding silhouette engrossed in the art of perfecting his sword and axe. The air around him crackled with an energy that mirrored the impending adventure.
Yet, despite the shared space and the fleeting glimpses, there was a palpable silence between you two. Whenever your paths crossed, he would promptly withdraw, leaving unspoken words hanging in the air.
In the meantime, Shoto, on the other hand, endeavored to draw nearer to you, under the impression that you harbored an interest in him. However, you gracefully declined each of his advances. Yet, in the face of his advances, you maintained a graceful poise, politely but firmly declining each of his attempts.
Tumblr media
The evening was bathed in a cold, biting chill, the kind that seeped into the bones. As the sky painted itself in hues of indigo and ebony, you found yourself entrusted with a task that seemed simple on the surface but proved to be more challenging than expected.
The warriors' clothes, worn and stained from battles past, awaited a thorough cleansing. The Great Hall had called upon you to fetch water from the bay, two heavy pails that seemed determined to resist your every attempt to carry them. Wrapped in a thick fur that clung to your shoulders, you ventured into the frosty night, a lone figure navigating the shadows.
The bay was a silent expanse, its waters reflecting the pale light of the moon. The air was crisp, filled with the briny scent of the sea. With each step, the crunch of frost-coated grass beneath your boots echoed in the stillness of the night.
As you reached the bay, the water shimmered in the moonlight, a tranquil contrast to the arduous task ahead. The pails, when filled, felt like anchors, their weight digging into your weary arms. The wind whispered tales of distant lands, carrying with it a numbing cold that penetrated through layers of clothing.
The journey back to the Great Hall became a battle against the elements. The fur draped around your shoulders provided little solace against the biting wind, and the weight of the water-laden pails seemed to increase with every step. Your breath formed delicate clouds in the frigid air as you pressed forward, determination masking the discomfort.
The Great Hall loomed in the distance, its warm glow promising respite from the harsh elements. With each step, the anticipation of a crackling fire and the warmth of shelter spurred you on.
As you struggled with the weight of the water-filled pails, a smooth, male voice sliced through the cold. The offer of help hung in the air, a surprising interruption to your solitary struggle. Instinctively, you refused, a reflex born of independence and perhaps a hint of pride.
Yet, within moments, the burden was lifted from your frozen hands. Bewilderment etched across your face, you slowly raised your head to find the source of assistance. A shock coursed through you as your eyes met those of Touya, draped in a thick, black bear fur.
Silence lingered for a moment before you managed a nod, acknowledging his unspoken gesture of aid. The air crackled with unspoken tension as the pails now rested in Touya's capable hands. The night seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the exchange of words that hung in the chilly air.
You suddenly uttered, your voice measured, "I appreciate the help, but I had it under control."
A chuckle escaped Touya's lips, warm against the icy backdrop. "Sure looked like it," he remarked, a teasing glint in his turquise eyes. Touya's gaze lingered on you, and for a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath. Sensing your reluctance, he ventured, "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
You nodded, the weight of unspoken words lingering in the air. The memory of Touya witnessing to Shoto's unexpected kiss, cast a shadow over the present.
Touya, breaking the awkward silence, continued, "Listen, about that night…" He hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "I should have said something. I should have…"
You interrupted, your voice a mix of reluctance and honesty, "It's in the past, Touya. Water under the bridge. And just so you know, I didn't want that. Your brother was drunk."
"I avoided talking to you," he confessed, his voice tinged with bitterness, "because I thought you were into Shoto. I thought he'd be better for you in so many ways than I could ever be, Y/N."
His words halted you in your tracks, and you turned to face him, your expression a mix of surprise and bitterness. "Why say it now?" you asked, your tone edged with a bitter curiosity.
Touya sighed. "Because I need you to know the truth. I need you to understand why I've been distant. My scars, my fucked-up character — I didn't think I was enough for you. I thought I was saving you from someone like me. Not to mention I brought you here against your will."
The truth hung heavy in the air, and for a moment, the silence between you was almost suffocating. Lowering your head, you took a deep breath before opening up to him, "Despite all that, Touya, you've always been kind to me. You've seemed to genuinely care, and I appreciate all the little gestures."
A hint of surprise flickered in Touya's eyes, and you continued, "Even tonight, when you helped me with the pails, it didn't go unnoticed. And about your scars, both physical and mental — I don't mind. They don't define you." You paused, reflecting on a specific memory, "Remember the night we kissed? I felt comfortable, Touya. Despite the circumstances, I felt a connection. Your scars never mattered to me then, and they don't now. And I have no idea why you like me. I'm nothing but a thrall."
Touya's frown deepened as the word "thrall" escaped your lips. "Don't say that," he hissed, a hint of intensity in his voice.
You chuckled bitterly, "But it's the truth. I'm just a slave to you and your family. After these months, I've gotten used to it, even if it's still hard to be polite at times when people treat me like a piece of meat."
The weight of your words hung in the air, and Touya gently placed the pails on the ground. Cupping your face in his gloved hands, the soft touch of thick leather against your reddened cheeks felt surprisingly comforting. "Don't ever call yourself that," he insisted, his eyes searching yours. "You're not just a thrall to me. You're… you."
You met his gaze, a mix of confusion and gratitude in your eyes.
Touya continued, his voice softer now, "Around you, I don't have to pretend. I don't have to be someone I never was, you know? Only with you, I feel like I can be myself fully."
His words lingered in the cold night air, a vulnerable admission that cut through the complexities of your situation. The touch of his gloved hands on your face, an unexpected tenderness, conveyed a depth of emotion that defied the roles you both found yourselves in.
In that moment, beneath the moonlit sky, Touya, for the first time, allowed himself to be seen, and you, in turn, found solace in the unexpected warmth of his touch.
Silence settled between you and Touya, a quiet understanding born from the unspoken exchange. You nodded, acknowledging his words, and without further discussion, you both resumed the journey back to the Great Hall.
The moon cast its gentle glow on the path ahead as you walked side by side. The rhythmic sound of boots on frost-coated ground echoed in the stillness.
As you approached the Great Hall, the door creaked open, and you both stepped inside, the warmth enveloping you like a familiar embrace. The pails were set down, and the flickering light of the hearth danced on the walls.
"Thanks, Touya. I appreciate the help," gratitude filled your voice as you thanked him for his assistance.
A small, genuine smile curved on his lips as he removed his gloves and fur. "It's no problem. Let me know where you want these," he gestured to the pails.
"The backroom," you replied, "Hilda and the other girls are there. We're doing laundry tonight."
With a nod, Touya complied, carrying the pails to the backroom.
As he entered, Hilda and the other thralls, caught off guard by the unexpected guest, momentarily stood up, bowing respectfully.
Touya, however, remained polite and offered his assistance. "Let me help you with that."
Hilda, blinking in surprise, tried to dissuade him. "Prince Touya, this is not a task befitting of your status. We can handle it."
Touya chuckled, a genuine warmth in his keen eyes. "I'm here to help. No need to treat me any differently. What can I do?"
Hilda reluctantly assigned him a task, and soon, the room buzzed with activity. Touya, alongside you and the other thralls, engaged in the laundry work. The atmosphere, once laden with tension, now hummed with a shared sense of purpose.
Conversations flowed naturally as you worked, the rhythmic splash of water and the occasional laughter blending into a harmonious melody. Touya, despite his royal status, interacted with the thralls on a personal level, breaking down the barriers that society had imposed.
As the laundry was washed and the room filled with the scent of soap and clean linen, Touya continued to lend a helping hand. Together with Hilda, he assisted in hanging the freshly laundered clothes, ensuring they would dry efficiently.
However, unbeknownst to all of you, a pair of sharp turquoise eyes observed the scene from a concealed vantage point. The eyes lingered on the group, absorbing the unexpected sight of Touya, a heir, engaging in the everyday tasks alongside thralls.
Hilda's gratitude was expressed through a gentle rub on Touya's shoulder. "Thank you, Touya."
He responded with a nod and a warm smile. "Anytime," he said sincerely. "You can always ask me for help if needed. I will do my best to assist."

The evening continued with the familiar sounds and scents of the kitchen. Pots clanged, and the aroma of simmering dishes wafted through the air as you busied yourself preparing supper for the earl Endeavor, his sons, and the departing warriors, including Hawks. The flickering flames in the hearth cast a warm glow over the room, but a sense of unease lingered within you.
Touya's presence had offered a respite from the isolation you often felt, but the worry about his well-being persisted. The failed attempt to gather information from Shoto had left you in the dark, and the unanswered questions weighed heavily on your mind.
Hilda, noticing your distraction, scolded you for bringing the young prince into the fold of daily duties like laundry. "You shouldn't involve the prince in such matters," she chided, her tone firm.
You listened to her admonishment, understanding the societal implications of your actions, yet you couldn't help but defend Touya. "He genuinely wanted to help. It's more than I can say for some others."
As the night unfolded, you focused on the task at hand, serving the prepared supper to the earl and his sons, hoping that the meal would provide a momentary respite from the weight of unanswered questions and the complexities of the world you found yourself entangled in.
Amidst the clatter of cutlery and the hum of conversation at the dinner table, your keen observational skills didn't fail to pick up on the subtle glances exchanged between Shoto and Hawks. They sat on opposite sides of the table, but a series of shared looks and silent nods hinted at some unspoken understanding. Though you couldn't quite discern the nature of their exchange, a feeling of unease settled within you.
Despite the undercurrent of mystery, your attention occasionally wavered as you found yourself caught in the interplay of glances with Touya. Whenever your eyes met his, a warmth spread across your cheeks, and a shy smile played on your lips. Touya's nods and the subtle touch of his hand when you refilled his cup with mead sent a flutter through your heart.
The atmosphere at the table, fraught with a mix of hidden agendas and unspoken emotions, contrasted sharply with the routine of serving and replenishing dishes.
Tumblr media
The night unfolded in a flurry of activity. After the supper, you and the other thralls diligently cleaned the main chamber, ensuring every dish and piece of cutlery sparkled in the soft glow of candlelight. The earl Endeavor and his sons retired for the night, and as the main chamber returned to a state of quiet, the rhythmic sound of washing dishes and the occasional hum of conversation among the thralls echoed through the longhouse.
After the tasks were complete, and the main chamber restored to its usual order, you took a quick bath to wash away the remnants of the day. As you made your way back to your shared room, wrapped in a simple linen robe, you unexpectedly crossed paths with Touya in the hallway.
"Touya," you greeted him, a mixture of surprise on your face as you tightened the robe around your figure. "You startled me!"
He flashed a confident smile. "Hey Y/N. I was hoping I'd run into you before I leave tomorrow morning."
You raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk forming on your lips. "And what brings you seeking my company, my lord?"
"Well, it gets lonely in those grand chambers," he mused.
You couldn't help but laugh at his audacity. "Are you implying I'm your solution to loneliness, my lord?"
Touya's grin widened, and he nodded. "I guess so, yes. Plus, I can't resist the chance to spend more time with someone as captivating as you."
You rolled your eyes, but a playful glint danced in them. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you?"
"Only with the ones who matter."
After a moment of consideration, you nodded. "Alright. I'll stay with you tonight."
Tumblr media
The warmth of Touya's chamber enveloped you as soon as you stepped in alongside him, the crackling fire from a fireplace casting a gentle glow.
You tightened the robe around you, feeling a sense of comfort and vulnerability in this shared space. The flickering shadows played on the walls, creating a dance of light and shadow.
With a graceful movement, Touya began to unbutton his white shirt. The flickering firelight highlighted the contours of his physique as he revealed the toned lines beneath the fabric. He folded the shirt with a practiced ease and placed it gently on a nearby chair, the white contrasting with the rich hues of the room.
As he laid on bed, Touya's eyes met yours, a silent invitation lingering in the air. He reached out, pulling you closer, and you could feel the warmth radiating from his scarred chest. The touch was both gentle and reassuring, a gesture that spoke of a shared vulnerability beneath the layers of status and circumstance.
You nestled against Touya, resting your head on his chest, feeling the rhythmic rise and fall as he breathed.
As the quiet moments passed, the inevitable topic of Touya's departure hung in the air like a lingering shadow. You couldn't shake the feeling of sadness that settled in your chest, and the words weighed heavily on your tongue. "Touya," you began, your voice soft but filled with genuine concern, "I can't help but worry about what might happen when you leave. Shoto… He's unpredictable, and I'm afraid he might try to hurt you."
Touya's expression softened, and he let out a gentle chuckle. "You're worried about me, huh?" he said, his eyes meeting yours as he tilted your head by catching your face between his thumb and forefinger.
You nodded, the worry etched on your face. "I've seen the tension between you two, and with the things that have happened, I can't help but be concerned."
Touya's hand found yours, his touch reassuring. "Listen, Y/N," he said, his tone gentle, "I appreciate your concern, but you don't need to worry about me. Shoto and I have our differences, yes, but I can handle myself. Plus, I've got a knack for avoiding trouble." A small smile played on his lips as he continued, "And here you are, worried about your own captor, how amusing."
You blinked, a mix of surprise and confusion in your eyes. "I just don't want anything bad to happen," you admitted. "Despite everything, you've been kind to me, and I don't want to see you hurt. Is it so hard to understand?"
"I appreciate that, I really do," he said. "But you don't need to worry about me. Focus on yourself, okay? Things will work out, and I'll find a way to handle Shoto. Just take care of yourself in the meantime when I'm gone."
Then, with a gentle lean, Touya bridged the remaining distance, capturing your lips in a slow and passionate kiss. The world outside faded away as the warmth of the moment enveloped you. His lips moved with a tenderness against yours.
As the kiss lingered, it held the promise of both solace and anticipation, a silent affirmation that in the midst of uncertainties, there existed moments of connection that could be cherished.
Touya's kiss was intense, a fervent embrace that drew you closer, your bodies molding together seamlessly. A pleasant buzz filled his mind as your lips danced with his, and he felt the alluring weight of your leg draped over his muscular thigh. With a smooth motion, his hand descended, fingers curving to grip the soft flesh of your exposed thighs.
In response, your nimble fingers wove through his white hair, eliciting a soft groan from Touya. A sudden, sharp tug sent a gasp escaping his lips.
Impatience guided his hands as he skillfully unraveled your robe, allowing it to slide off your shoulders, revealing the supple skin beneath. The sight before him left him breathless. "Y/N," he whispered, the words barely parting his lips, "You're so beautiful."
Mounting him fully with newfound confidence, you recognized there was no reason for shame. As the realization washed over you, you deliberately shed your robe, letting it fall to the side, baring your body completely to his keen gaze. Your lips were gently caught between your teeth as his calloused hands found their place on your hips, a slow ascent following the contours of your waist, finally reaching your breasts. His touch was tender, cupping them lightly.
You captured Touya's bottom lip between your teeth, the kiss deepening as you almost drew blood. The resulting pain elicited a loud moan from him, prompting him to assert control - he swiftly shifted, flipping you onto your back, pinning you to the furs beneath with the weight of his hips and his hands firmly securing yours above your head.
A soft grunt escaped you, followed by a whimper that sent a jolt of desire straight to his cock; it was alreadyt tenting in his dark pants.
Touya's mouth found its way to your neck, where he suckled with a fervor that left an angry mark, destined to be a bruise by tomorrow. Your arms instinctively curled around his neck, and you gasped softly, welcoming the pleasant weight of his dominance and the enveloping warmth that surrounded you in the charged intimacy of the moment.
Touya emitted a gruff sound; the truth was, he hadn't been with a woman in years, and the enticing warmth of your body, coupled with your deference and moans, was stirring a primal desire within him. With practiced skill, he unbuttoned his pants with one hand, letting them slide down his muscular thighs. In a swift motion, he kicked them off, unveiling his well-endowed shaft that. A gasp escaped him as the room's air enveloped his throbbing member, causing it to pulsate involuntarily.
Soft, breathy sounds emanated from your lips now as Dabi moved his hips against yours, his throbbing cock damp and solid against the gentle skin of your hip. You responded by wrapping your legs around his firm waist, pressing against him in a mutual, fervent embrace.
"Y/N," Touya murmured, his voice a low, lustful cadence. He descended down your body, nestling his face between the soft contours of your breasts. Warm breath, coming in soft pants, caressed your skin, sending shivers through you. His touch worked its magic; your nipples hardened under his skillful exploration. Touya took one into his mouth, suckling softly, the flat of his tongue tracing a tantalizing pattern again and again.
Firmly gripping the sides of his head, you filled his ears with the symphony of moans, the sounds now unceasing. Your movements became more fervent, heels digging into his firm ass as you squirmed against him.
Touya emitted a gruff, almost winded grunt, his desire evident. His fingers ventured southward, sliding between your thighs.
You sighed as his coarsed fingers touched your soft folds, finding them heated and slick, just for him.
Whispering soft words in a language Touya couldn't comprehend, you gently tugged on his hair, bringing him closer to seal your lips in an open-mouthed kiss. The exchange of tongues was a dance, each movement syncing seamlessly. Touya, guided by your touch, positioned himself at your entrance, teasingly rubbing his cock along your wet folds.
A whimper escaped you, only to be stifled by Touya's loose hair that fell to the side, playfully tickling your face and finding its way into your mouth, causing laughter to bubble between you. As he rested his weight on your body, Touya applied gentle pressure to the front of your neck with his free hand, a delicate squeeze accompanying the sensation. Simultaneously, he drove his rigid cock inside your willing body.
"Touya!" A cry of his name escaped your lips as you endeavored to relax, attempting to minimize the inevitable discomfort of the initial contact. Despite your efforts, the pain was unmistakable, casting a shadow over the shared intensity of the moment.
Lowering his head, Touya pressed a tender kiss to your temple, his lips brushing against your skin. His voice, laced with reassurance, urged you to take a deep breath.
Your eyes widened, a sharp gasp escaping your lips as Touya fully immersed himself within you. Your hands instinctively fisted in the furs around your head as you arched your back.
Touya, grunting at the sensation of tightness enveloping his cock, propped himself up over your form, holding still for a brief moment. As your gaze met his scarred face, lips parted and breath quickened, you smiled softly.
Touya's hand remained at your throat as he initiated a deliberate rhythm, pulling almost entirely away before plunging back in. With each of his controlled thrusts, a soft, breathy noise escaped you, spurring him on. His focus shifted to your flushed cheeks and pert breasts, rising and falling in tandem with your breath. Droplets of sweat traced paths between his shoulder blades and dotted his forehead, a single bead descending from the tip of his nose to splash onto your belly, prompting a gasp from you.
He paused in his movements, fully immersed within your wetness, savoring the intimate stillness that enveloped both of you.
Your hands sought purchase, gripping his thighs and tracing your nails over the taut muscles.
Touya, attuned to your desires, comprehended the silent cue. With a gentle release, he withdrew his hand from your throat and enveloped you in the shelter of his powerful arms, burying his face in the crook of your neck.
A soft whine escaped you at the subtle shift in angle, and as your moan caressed his ear, Touya withdrew, only to return with an impactful force, spreading your pussy wide with his cock. The intensity of the thrust nearly compelled a scream from you, your fingers trailing up his sweat-slicked, scarred back in response.
Touya emitted a low groan as he felt the clenching warmth of your pussy around him. Pulling back, he thrust into you with unrestrained force, over and over again. His teeth found the red mark he had imprinted earlier on the junction of your neck and shoulder, and his body moved with a raw intensity against yours. Your moans, a symphony of passion, intensified the desire pooling hotly in his belly. "Fuck, Y/N," Touya gasped loudly though gritted teeth.
One of your petite hands clutched his thigh, the fingernails like slivers of hot metal leaving an impression on his skin. The other hand wove into his long, white hair, a firm grip offering a delightful blend of sweet pain to complement the intense pleasure of your velvety, gummy walls embracing his pulsating cock. The sounds of his hips colliding with the backs of your pale thighs, his grunts and groans, and the whimpers escaping your lips were the only sounds to fill the chamber, creating a sensual symphony that left Touya buzzing from head to toe.
The fusion of your arousal and bloo, the lingering traces of your virginity, a gift offered to Touya, had become so intense that it now adorned the insides of your thighs and the front of his abdomen, covering the vertical strip of white hair running from his belly button to his groin in slickness. The wet, squelching noises echoed softly as he withdrew and thrust forcefully back into you.
Touya seized your tender lips with his own, engaging in a fervent kiss. His teeth grazed your tongue and the corners of your mouth. Another sharp pull on his white strands forced his mouth from yours, and as you gazed into his turquoise eyes, you let out a tiny gasp. "T-Touya…"
The vice-like grip of your soft walls around his dick prompted a strangled moan to escape Touya, his eyes briefly shutting in response. When they reopened, your back had arched, pressing your breasts firmly against his scarred chest. Your head tossed back, and the hold you had on his hair had loosened. A moment of suspended breath passed before it was replaced by a whimper.
Touya emitted a drawn-out, deep moan, his brow furrowing as you fluttered around his rigid shaft, coating it in a palpable surge of wetness mingled with traces of blood. The sensation sent shivers down his spine, and he sensed himself edging closer to the brink of his own release.
"Touya," you breathed, touching his cheek softly.
He sighed, surrendering to the sensation as he kept moving, albeit at a slower pace.
"Touya," you asserted, gripping his throat firmly, eliciting a raspy breath from him.
His climax engulfed him hard, prompting a whine akin to a wounded animal as he thrust into you with every ounce of intensity, releasing his essence into your yielding pussy.
Your hand descended to press against his chest, and he rode the waves of pleasure, his head dropping forward, lost in the overwhelming sensations, his mind devoid of coherent thoughts. "Fuck," he snorted. "Oh, fucking shit."
Your hurried breaths slowly brought him back to the present, grounding his focus. Tenderly, he draped his form over yours, planting wet kisses along the side of your face, his flaccid cock still nestled inside your folds. As your legs eased down to the bed, your fingers traced gentle patterns across the skin of Touya's muscular back.
Once your breathing had steadied, and the sheen of sweat on Dabi's body had mostly evaporated, he rolled off you onto his side.
You reached up, pushing a few stray strands of mussed hair away from Touya's face, tucking into his arms afterwards.
Touya cradled you, his arms providing a secure embrace, and he sighed, the lure of sleep tugging at the edges of his awareness. Pressing a tender kiss to the top of your head, he murmured, "I didn't hurt you, right?"
You nestled closer, content, and mumbled, "I'm more than good, Touya."
Touya held you close to his chest, his strong arms wrapped securely around you, and he gently rubbed your shoulders. "Thank you," he said, the words soft and sincere.
With a slight frown, you looked up at him. "Why are you thanking me?" you asked, curiosity etched in your gaze.
Touya met your eyes and explained, "You're the first woman I've been with in many years, and I want you to know it wasn't just about… you know, getting laid. It just felt like the right thing to do, to be that intimately close with you."
You fell quiet for a while, tracing patterns on his chest and abdomen with your fingertips. Eventually, you responded, your voice soft and sweet, "Did I let you down with how inexperienced I am?"
Touya's head shook, the gentle curve of a smile on his lips. "No, not at all. It was perfect. You were perfect. I appreciate you letting me claim you as mine."
You blinked, propping yourself up on his chest, curiosity in your eyes. "What does it mean, being yours?"
Touya met your gaze and explained while wrapping a strand of your hair around his forefinger, "It means I want you to be my woman, but only if you reciprocate my feelings."
A blush crept across your cheeks as you reevaluated everything that had transpired between the two of you — from the day he took you captive after the tragic events in your village to bringing you to his settlement and making you a thrall. Despite the lingering anger and sorrow in your soul, you couldn't deny the undeniable spark in your heart whenever you were close to him, whenever his eyes met yours.
After careful contemplation, you silently agreed, the unspoken understanding settling between you two as you gave him a slight nod.
Touya, his grip gentle yet firm, pulled you to him by your chin, sealing the moment with a kiss on your lips. "You're a free woman from now on."
As he released you, you sat up, eyes glistening with a mixture of emotions. With a quiver in your voice, you asked him, "What does this mean?"
He met your gaze, sincerity in his eyes, and replied, "It means you're free, no longer bound as a thrall. You have your own choices now, including whether you want to stay in Skjaldvargr or not."
A chill coursed through your veins as Touya's words sank in — unfamiliar and unsettling, the concept of freedom felt surreal. Blinking in disbelief, you grappled with the weight of this unexpected liberation. It was as if a door to an uncertain future had swung wide open, leaving you standing at the threshold, torn between the familiarity of captivity and the uncharted territory of choice.
Despite the cold tendrils of fear that coiled within you, an overwhelming wave of gratitude and an odd sense of vulnerability washed over. You hesitated for a moment, then, as if propelled by the uncertainty of newfound freedom, you hugged yourself to Touya. Tears spilled into the crook of his neck, a mixture of relief, gratitude, and an acknowledgment of the tangled emotions within.
Amidst your tears, you confessed, "I want to stay. I don't really have anywhere to go, and, strangely, I've grown fond of Skjaldvargr." The admission carried the weight of your complicated journey, a fusion of sorrow, attachment, and an unexpected connection with the people and places you had come to know.
Touya nodded affirmatively. "Well then, you'll stay here. My chambers are now yours, and you are an outright member of the settlement and my woman," he declared.
Shivers of worry coursed through you as you voiced your concerns about how Touya's father and brothers might react to the unconventional decision of freeing a thrall and choosing to be with her. Your apprehension deepened as you acknowledged your own perceived lack of talents, admitting, "I'm just a mere woman, and I don't really have many skills… I can sing and play a harp, but…"
Touya, smiling softly, gently pulled you close and silenced your self-deprecating words with a kiss. As he broke the kiss, he whispered, "Don't worry about that. I'll make it work." His reassurance lingered in the air, a promise that he intended to navigate the challenges ahead and carve a path for the two of you, regardless of the judgments and expectations that might come from his family. Touya, holding you close, looked into your eyes with a tender gaze. "I see way past the talents and appearance," he admitted softly. "What captivated me was your unaware gentleness, the way you carry yourself, and the kindness that emanates from you. That's what truly matters to me."
"Thank you, Touya Endeavorson," you whispered, kissing his jawline.
He chuckled softly, the sound a soothing lullaby, and soon, the gentle rhythm of sleep claimed both of you.
Tumblr media
The next day, as the sun hung very low on the horizon, the warriors gathered for the final meeting with the earl.
Dabi, reluctantly torn from your peaceful slumber, pressed a kiss to your bare shoulder before gently tucking you into thick furs. He left the chamber, heading to meet his father.
In the meeting room, Shoto was already present, exchanging a cold smile with his eldest brother. Hawks and the other warriors formed a solemn assembly, awaiting the earl's words.
Natsuo stood nearby, eager to hear what their father had to say and to bid farewell to his brothers.
Endeavor's stern voice echoed through the hall as he issued orders to his sons. "Shoto, Touya, you depart soon. Ensure everything is in order for the journey. You have no time to waste."
Shoto, attempting to be the epitome of politeness, spoke up. "Father, may I suggest we also check the provisions and inspect the gear to ensure nothing is overlooked for the journey?"
Endeavor's gaze shifted to Shoto, a brief nod acknowledging the suggestion. "Very well, Shoto. Attend to the provisions and gear. Dabi, focus on the horses and make sure they are in prime condition. You leave nothing to chance."
Dabi, ever the stoic one, simply nodded in acknowledgment, the weight of his father's expectations settling on his shoulders.
The preparations for the journey became a meticulous dance under Endeavor's watchful eye, each son fulfilling their assigned tasks with a sense of duty ingrained in them by years of training and discipline.
Dabi meticulously checked each horse, ensuring they were in optimal health and prepared for the upcoming journey.
As he worked, Natsuo approached him, a note of concern in his voice. "Be careful, Touya," Natsuo said, his eyes reflecting worry.
Dabi, giving his brother a brief nod, adjusted the long, thick, black fur draping over his shoulders. "I'll. And you, keep your eyes open and make sure everyone is safe and nothing bad happens, understood?"
Natsuo chuckled at the protective tone of his elder brother. "Understood, Touya. Just don't go doing anything reckless."
Dabi flashed a small smirk, a mixture of confidence and assurance. "Reckless? Me? Never." Despite the banter, a hint of camaraderie lingered in their exchange, a silent understanding between the brothers in the face of the impending challenges.
Natsuo ruffled Dabi's stallion's mane, a thoughtful expression on his face. "I hope father knows what he is doing, sending you to a land we've never been to before."
Dabi, continuing to attend to the horses, looked up at his brother. "Apparently, he does. The journey doesn't seem as tough as it sounds," he assured.
As Dabi continued with the preparations for the journey, he turned to Natsuo and asked, "Take good care of Y/N while we're away, will you?"
Natsuo, puzzled by the mention of a name of their thrall, furrowed his brows. "Y/N? Why?"
Dabi smirked and explained, "I freed her. She's my woman now."
Natsuo blinked, a mix of surprise and amusement crossing his face. He smirked smugly, poking his older brother's shoulder. "Well, well, has my brother fallen in love with a woman!?" The revelation caught him off guard, but Natsuo couldn't resist teasing his brother about his newfound connection.
Dabi, his usually stoic expression now tinged with a mix of vulnerability and anger, confirmed, "Yes, Natsuo. I fell in love with her. Any problem with that?"
Natsuo shook his head, a reassuring smile on his face. "No problem, Touya. I'll protect her. You don't have to worry about that. Focus on the trip, and I'll handle things here on your behalf."
A sense of gratitude flickered in Dabi's eyes as he nodded, appreciating the support and understanding from his younger brother.
Tumblr media
Touya gracefully mounted his stallion, and Shoto did the same.
As they prepared to depart, Endeavor emerged from the Great Hall. "Bring back as much as you can, and scout around," he ordered, his gaze piercing.
Shoto, ever the dutiful son, assured his father sweetly, "Everything you said will be done, my lord."
They departed in unison, the rhythmic sound of hooves echoing through the settlement.
The horses moved one by one, a procession of warriors embarking on a mission of importance. As they rode, the figures of warriors and their leaders gradually vanished on the horizon, blending with the imposing mountains in the distance.
Dabi, throwing a final glance back at the settlement, silently offered a prayer to their gods for success on the mission. The vast expanse swallowed them, leaving behind the familiar and venturing into the unknown.
Tumblr media
You awoke alone in Touya's bed, the furs enveloping you in a warm embrace. Stretching languidly, you shifted, and a blush tinged your cheeks as you became aware of the remnants of wetness and slick covering your inner thighs. With a mix of shyness and self-consciousness, you decided to freshen up.
After cleaning yourself and running a brush through your hair, you prepared for the day. As a free woman with newfound autonomy, uncertainty lingered in your choices. Unsure of what to do, you settled on paying a visit to Hilda.
On your way to your friend, you were unexpectedly intercepted by the earl himself. Endeavor, a commanding presence, stopped you in your tracks. "Come with me, Y/N," he requested, his tone leaving little room for refusal. "I wish to talk to you."
Curiosity and a hint of apprehension danced in your eyes as you followed the earl, the path veering away from your original destination, leaving you to wonder what discussions awaited in the halls of the settlement's leader.
Endeavor, seated on his imposing throne, gestured for you to take a seat on the smaller throne positioned on his left side. Hesitantly, you complied with his request.
Endeavor's stern expression softened slightly as he began to speak. "Touya informed me of what transpired," he stated, and a blush instantly covered your cheeks, a mix of embarrassment and uncertainty coursing through you.
The earl continued, his gaze unwavering. "He freed you. I do not condone such actions, especially considering your status. You are not of royal blood, but as long as you make my son happy, I am inclined to respect that."
You nodded, a mixture of relief and nervousness settling within you. "I assure you, earl Endeavor, my intentions are pure. I mean no harm."
Endeavor, though maintaining his stern demeanor, seemed to consider your words. "Very well," Endeavor declared after a moment. "In such circumstances, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask the thralls, Hilda, or even me or Natsuo. If you prove your worth, maybe I'll look at you more kindly."
You promised not to be a bother but a valuable asset for the settlement. As the conversation progressed, you gathered the courage to pose a more personal question. "My lord, would you have anything against me fully embracing the worship of your gods?"
Endeavor's initial shock was evident, but after a moment, he smiled at you, nodding in acknowledgment. The acceptance of your desire to align with their religious practices hinted at a potential bridge between your newfound freedom and the intricate dynamics of the settlement. The unspoken understanding between you and the earl carried the potential for a more harmonious coexistence, provided you could prove your dedication and commitment to the settlement's values.
"You wish to step away from your Christian God and embrace our gods?" he asked.
In response, you nodded, meeting his gaze with determination. "Yes, earl Endeavor. I want to embrace the beliefs of this settlement, to become part of the community and honor the gods that are revered here. The day my village was raided, it felt as though my God had abandoned me," you expressed, the weight of that moment etched in the somber tone of your words.
The earl, after a moment of contemplation, surprised you with a geniune smile. He nodded, a gesture of acknowledgment. "Very well. If it brings you closer to this community and my son, then I will respect your choice. The gods, after all, have their own ways." Endeavor considered your newfound interest in embracing the local beliefs and, after a moment, spoke decisively, "I will take you to our seer. She will impart the knowledge you seek. Eventually, you may find yourself visiting Uppsala, a vital religious, economic, and political center in Svealand."
Your eyes lit up with interest at the prospect, and you nodded eagerly, fully intrigued by the idea of exploring such a significant place. Curiosity guiding your words, you asked, "Will I be able to go there once Touya returns?"
Endeavor, after a brief pause, agreed, "Yes, once Touya is back, we can arrange for your visit to Uppsala. It will be an enlightening experience for you."
You nodded at Endeavor, absorbing the significance of the upcoming journey into the settlement's beliefs and practices.
As you settled into the smaller throne, Endeavor looked up at you, a question lingering in his eyes. "Do you know where you're sitting?" he asked.
You replied hesitantly, "Obviously, it's a throne, my lord."
He chuckled, confirming your observation. "Indeed, it is a throne, but it holds a particular importance. This is reserved for the earl's wife, the queen of the settlement."
Your gaze shifted, and you asked cautiously, "Where is your wife then, my lord?"
Endeavor's expression softened, carrying a weight of sorrow. "She passed away after giving birth to Shoto, my youngest son."
You remained silent, acknowledging the gravity of the loss. "I'm so sorry for your family's loss," you expressed.
Endeavor waved his hand dismissively, as if to sweep away the weight of the past. "This is what the gods had prepared for her," he said, a touch of acceptance in his voice. "I miss her wisdom every day." He then looked at you, his gaze steady. "I let you sit here because, eventually, this place will belong to you."
You blinked, shocked by the unexpected revelation. "To me?" you asked, seeking more details. "I-I don't understand, my lord…"
Endeavor nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Yes." Endeavor leaned in, his voice lowered as he shared a revelation with you. "Since you are my eldest son's woman, it is likely that Touya will want to marry you one day." He paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. "And I have already chosen Touya as my legitimate heir. Once I am gone, he will take over the throne."
You were shocked by the revelation, and you whispered in response, "But from what I observed, I was fully convinced you would want Shoto to inherit the throne, my lord…"
Endeavor sighed, a mixture of regret and remorse in his eyes. He began to share the mistakes of his past, confessing to an attempt on Touya's life when he was a child, influenced by the wrong people. The consequence was the multitude of scars that adorned Touya's body, a lasting mark from a hot, boiling tar. "After all these years," Endeavor continued, "and witnessing Touya's growth, even though it was much harder for him due to his past and vulnerabilities, I have come to the conclusion that there is no other candidate for the throne than my eldest son. Shoto is full of passion, yes, but he is also very unsorted, having too many ideas and never fully indulging in anything but quick, meaningless affairs." The earl's admission offered a glimpse into the complexities of his decisions, revealing the burdens of the past and the intricate dynamics within the royal family.
As the revelation unfolded, a mix of emotions churned within you. The realization that Touya would be as shocked as you, having believed all along that his father saw him merely as a warrior, added a layer of complexity to the unfolding dynamics within the royal family.
You turned to Endeavor, the weight of the situation settling in, and expressed, "Whatever you decide, I will condone, my lord."
Endeavor's response was a smile, a gesture that softened his stern features. His rough, huge hand reached out, gently caressing your blushed cheek. "I think I'm starting to understand what Touya sees in you," he admitted. "You remind me a lot of my wife. You're very kind, and you seem to carry a wisdom I might not comprehend." Endeavor's gaze held a mixture of seriousness and earnestness as he spoke, "I ask you to be good to Touya. He deserves the world I couldn't provide him with."
Tumblr media
The horses moved steadily through the wilderness, Dabi and Shoto riding side by side. The rhythmic sound of hooves on the earth beneath echoed in the quiet expanse around them. Hawks and the other warriors trailed at a distance, granting the brothers a semblance of privacy.
Shoto, breaking the silence, turned to his older brother. "So, how is it to possess a thrall?" he inquired, a curious glint in his mismatched eyes.
Dabi, eyes fixed on the distant horizon, remained silent.
The younger brother, ever probing, continued with a wry tone, "Is she better than the whore you laid with before?"
Dabi's jaw clenched, and for a moment, he maintained his stoic composure. However, the barb proved to be too much, and he finally snapped back at Shoto, his tone sharp and cold, "Watch your tongue, Shoto. She's not just a possession, and you will treat her with respect." The intensity in his words mirrored the protective edge that had developed over the time he spent with you.
Shoto chuckled dismissively. "Why would I respect a thrall? She's nothing but our slave."
"I freed her," Touya retorted sharply, his voice carrying a harsh edge. "So she's not your slave anymore."
Shoto, not entirely convinced by his brother's words, chuckled again. However, when he caught the stern gaze from Touya, he groaned in frustration, relenting but not without adding a snarky, awfully bad comment under his breath. "Oh, brother, you've fallen so low that you bedded a thrall and freed her just because she was good in bed and made doe-eyes at you. Pathetic."
Touya, his patience wearing thin, warned Shoto sharply, "Don't say anything more about Y/N. I won't hesitate to hurt you, Shoto."
Shoto, unfazed and ever mocking, responded with a smirk, "Hurt me? Come on, Touya, you're just defending your little pet. I didn't know you could get so attached to a mere thrall."
Touya's jaw clenched, his restraint visibly tested by his younger brother's taunts.
Their exchange was abruptly interrupted by a loud howling in the distance, a haunting sound that echoed through the wilderness. The mournful cry carried an eerie resonance, adding an ominous atmosphere to the already tense scene between the brothers. As the sun began its descent down the horizon, casting long shadows and painting the sky with hues of orange and red, the howling persisted.
"Wolves," Touya said carefully, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "We should set up camp here. It's too risky to ride further."
Shoto, involuntarily agreeing with Touya, nodded in acknowledgment.
As the camp took shape, Touya decided to rest in his tent. Lying on the furs, he closed his eyes, allowing the sounds of nature and the quietness of the night to envelop him. The occasional chatter of their warriors echoed in the background. Touya's thoughts drifted to you, and as he drifted into sleep, he envisioned you through the canvas of his imagination.

Fourteen Days of MHA: Day 7
First Impressions
I've had something of a day, so I couldn't come up with much for this one. But since the topic is first impressions, I kinda felt like this would be the best one to use some unfinished stuff of mine? Stuff that's likely never gonna BE finished. Basically this is an excerpt from one of my write-ups that is a reenactment of my first impressions of Katsuki Bakugou the first time I watched MHA.
[excerpt begins below the cut]
Season 1: Episodes 1-2
I hate shounen rival characters. No really.
I find them repetitive, reductive, and tropey as all hell. They don’t read like real people to me. They don’t make any sense to me. As far as I can tell, they just exist to be difficult, to represent some boiled-down theme of competition that must contradict the protagonist’s perspective for the sake of being a foil. It’s just a mechanism to provide challenges to the protagonist when the storyteller can’t find a way to come up with creative new challenges. They’re all basically the same character with the same personality with the same hangups with the same insecurities with the same “character development,” and if you’ve seen one you’ve seen ‘em all.
Enter Katsuki Bakugou.
Tumblr media
This basic bitch.
On principle I hate him. I hate his stupid little smug face. I hate his voice. I hate his goals. I hate what he does and how he thinks.
Actually, hate is too strong a word. Because what I really hate is being subjected to the monotony of another predictable rival/lancer character. So here I am, praying for a sign that there will be some sort of break in this monotony. Please, MHA, prove me wrong.
Tumblr media
Okay, not gonna lie, this shot did something to my heart.
Tumblr media
Oh? Oh, is he actually insightful? Are we gonna resolve his arrogant shit this soon?
Tumblr media
I’m in shock too, Izuku.
Tumblr media
...oh.
Oh great. Total slow burn. [heavy sigh]
Tumblr media
Heh. Points for the lampshade.
Wait, is this show self-aware?
Season 1: Episodes 3-4
Okay Katsuki clearly took something away from that experience because he is doing the whole anime-boy-staring-out-the-window-in-contemplation thing.
Tumblr media
Whatever. Aloof rival alert. Except it’s not an alert because they’re all like that.
Tumblr media
Whoa, that escalated quickly!
Tumblr media
Oh. He’s just like that. Gotcha.
Tumblr media
That’s...actually notable, since “that day” was sometime in April and now it’s February. Okay, something’s definitely up, but I’m just not sure which version of The Rival we’re dealing with here. And maybe if I cared, I’d try to figure it out. But I don’t care enough to stop watching and think about it, so, meh, I’ll let the show tell me when we get there. [/the most naive]
Tumblr media
God, I relate too much to both sides of the interaction.
Tumblr media
Um. “Friends?” Is that-? Are you implying-?
Are you just a grump?
Tumblr media
Oh, okay, I see what’s been up. He’s totally aware of how awesome Izuku is, and he’s jealous or in denial. Understandable, since he wants to be the top hero. Sucks to be the rival, my dude.
Actually, wait, if he’s been aware of Izuku’s greatness since episode 1 or 2, he’s like one of the few characters in this world who seems to get it? Which is...kind of surprising for this early on?
Season 1: Episodes 5-7
Wait, what?
Tumblr media
Are you telling me he’s actually hot shit? Fucking great. Ugh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, oh my god, the show IS self-aware! Oh okay I’m totally here for this shit!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, it’s a CATCHPHRASE.
[end of excerpt]
You already know how it all ends lol.

Tumblr media
You are a hard-working citizen, you are straightforward, diligent, focused, and most of all. You don’t take anyone’s shit.
Since a young age, you harbored grand aspirations of collaborating with the renowned hero Dynamight. Even during your high school years, witnessing the fledgling hero proclaims his ambition to become the top hero to millions of viewers on live national television deeply resonated with you.
He was a hero you admired deeply, whether that was in combat or in any other position.
Driven by an intense desire to be in close proximity to the fiery and passionate hero, you applied yourself with unwavering diligence. Night after night, you immersed yourself in rigorous study, methodically reviewing each cue card until the ink was exhausted and the pencils were rendered brittle from the forceful strokes onto your notebook.
Before you knew it, you graduated college majoring in hero analysis with a minor in communications.
the first few years after college were hard, without any significant connections, you had little to no experience beforehand to get any major positions in well-affiliated agencies.
Pizza for breakfast and granola bars for dinner, staying up for days and sleeping fewer nights. Going to countless amounts of interviews, passing trial after trial.
yet denied, denied, denied.
you began to lose hope, you felt that all the hard work you did was for nothing. You were fearful of the eventual future set in place for you. A dead-end office job at some random corporate office that could barely pay the bills, "comfortable" housing, and an urge to die because you never lived up to your expectations.
On a rain-soaked day in Japan, a biting chill permeated the air as the relentless downpour battered your umbrella, the droplets cascading off its surface with effortless ease. As you made your way from yet another failed interview, the weight of repeated rejection hung heavily upon you.
This time, however, you didn't feel particularly upset about it. The hero's demands were simply unreasonable, and you had no intention of acquiescing to such outlandish requests. After all, the hero's accomplishments were hardly noteworthy and their reputation was far from impressive. Barely reaching the top 100 rated heroes in Japan, he wasn’t worth any second of your time.
With a resigned sigh, you trudged out into the bustling streets of Japan, surveying the sea of faces before you with a critical eye. Among the throngs of people passing by, you observed carefree children strolling hand in hand with their parents, and trendy teens sporting high-waisted shorts and fishnet stockings, flaunting their disregard for the curfew that surely awaited them.
The distinction between the two groups of people made you notice something…you either abide by the rules or defied them.
So then what were you?
You were the simpleton of course, sadly...
Like so many others trudging along these rain-soaked streets, you found yourself caught up in the unrelenting hustle to secure a job that would never truly fulfill you. Your expression was weighed down by the burden of this unending search, with a heavy heart and a growl in your stomach. you absentmindedly made your way into a nearby ramen shop.
the chill of the rain subsides to the warm embrace of the restaurant. Bustling voices of citizens and the loud clanks of kitchenware. you were greeted by the workers and you bowed. setting your things down at an absent table, you look over to the ordering tablet. clicking a couple of buttons, you ordered your meal. Before you could sulk in your seat, your phone buzzes.
Jolting in surprise, you pick up the phone to read the contact name:
UA WORKFORCE CORP.
Your eyes lit up with unbridled joy as a rush of adrenaline surged through your body. The reason for this sudden surge of excitement was none other than the prospect of being selected as a trainee with UA Corporations, whether it be through the prestigious school or one of the legendary hero agencies affiliated with it.
It all began last year when you submitted your application, and the possibility of this dream finally becoming a reality now had you feeling electrified.
Around a couple of months, you've passed through multiple rounds of other people who have applied for the position. Interview after interview, test after test, you knew that if you got the job you'd be on the track that led you to your dream.
"hello!" you said excitedly.
"yes, hello, is this l/n y/n?" a woman says on the other end of the line. You quickly confirm your identity with the woman. "hello there, I'm here to give you acknowledgment of the results of the final round pick for the UA CORP. affiliates position." the woman's voice rang through your phone, heart beating fast...breath staggered your reply.
"y-yes?" you stuttered.
"Yes, l/n, I'm sorry to inform you--"
[CALL ENDED]
With a swift press of a button, you ended the call, throwing your phone onto the table you sit in silence. tears began to stream down your face as you lowered your head to the table. Your body was wracked with sobs, each tear that fell causing your breath to catch in your throat.
why are you not good enough?
As the weight of reality bore down on you, your tears flowed even harder, your throat constricting as you tried to swallow. Was all your hard work for so reason? Are your dreams non-attainable? Is this just not the past you're destined to take?
After a moment, you sat back up in your seat, heedless of the tears and makeup staining your white button-down shirt. With red-rimmed eyes, you reached for your phone and began to scroll through Google, determined to find some sort of solution to the crushing blow you had just been dealt.
'office jobs near me.'
biting your lip, you try and stop your lip from quivering. you felt as if you were destined for despair since you were a child.
Like so many others, you too idolized heroes when you were young, running around your house with makeshift masks and capes that resembled the same heroes you watched on TV. Full of youthful hope and possessing a fairly decent quirk, you dreamed of one day joining the ranks of these legendary figures.
Fast forward a few years, and you found yourself in middle school. After a long day of classes, you trudged your way back home, collapsed onto your bed, and drifted off into a deep sleep, ready to take on whatever the next day had in store for you.
but the only thing is, you didn't wake up.
you didn't wake up for another three days to be exact. when you finally awoke in the hospital, your parent broke the news to you. You seemed to catch a very rare parasite, this parasite can leave the host sickly with fever, very drowsy, and worst of all...
quirkless.
The following week at school, you shared the news with your classmates: you were essentially quirkless now. But instead of receiving words of encouragement and hope, you found yourself labeled an outcast by everyone around you.
"the girl who lived, but at the cost of her quirk."
Years later, the news still shook you to your core, and you couldn't help but feel stunned. present day, you've noticed that you could still use your quirk from time to time. around 10 times a year, your quirk would come and go in little spurts. but as time grew long, you became accustomed to not using it for a long time, so you never did.
so now here you were, alone, quirkless, and a soon to be slave to the corporate world.
cheeks stained with mascara, eyes red, and head pounding, you look over to the ordering tray, sliding out the hot ramen ready to be consumed.
"at least this ramen can make me feel better," you mumbled to yourself. Taking the large bowl from the tray, you set it out on the table and began to dig in. As you eat, you begin to scroll ok your phone looking for regular office jobs…
Manager at printing company? No.
Office associates needed at tech company? No.
Receptionist at steel company? No way.
Senior communications analyst? What?
Scroll, scroll, scroll.
Deny, deny, deny!
This can’t be your reality right? How are you going to break this down to your parents?
Deep in thought, you didn’t even realize that someone slid in your booth. Tapping away on your phone, you open your messages.
Group chat: Mom & Dad
you: hanging in there! So close!
letting out a sigh, you open the camera app. Looking at the screen you see yourself, torn up from the floor up. Eyes a faint pink contrasting from the red they were a few moments beforehand. Pressing your lips together into a line, you quickly tap your screen to flip your camera.
Flipping your camera, you stare at the screen. A man appears on the other side, as he looks at the camera in embarrassment.
Eyes widening you gasp, “Excuse me, but there’s other seats around,” you try to sound as nice as possible, but why should you be nice if today hasn’t been so nice to you back?
The man was covered in black from head to toe, black hood on tight, as he looks at you. Black-shaded glasses and a matching face mask on him.
“Um, can I sit with you please?” He says.
Rolling your eyes, you become irritated, “no. now if you can please move–“
“Please, I can’t sit alone, people will notice me!” He whispers, body leaning in towards you, jolting backward, you frown in confusion.
“What?” You say, tone cold and filled with irritancy.
“Um…listen this is the only time I’ve got to myself, and I love this place! And if people see me alone then they’ll notice me, so can I just please sit with you?”
Blinking rapidly, you grew quiet.
Looking around, you see no one looking toward you or the mysterious man ahead of you. Looking back, you then sink into your seat. Grabbing your face with your hands, you soon let out a deep sigh.
“Sure, fuck it, go ahead, this day can’t possibly get any worse!” You laugh to yourself. This makes the man’s head tilt. “May I ask why your day is bad?” He says. Removing your hands from your face you give him a deadpan look. Licking your lips you sit up from your chair and grab your utensils.
Stirring your noodles around you let out a dry chuckle, “Let’s just say things never go the way I want them to—and there’s also a random man in front of my face when I could really like being alone at the moment…the small things.”
You say, sarcasm drenched with every word you spoke. This makes the man laugh, “Sorry your day has been shit.”
Leaning into his seat, you crossed his arms. “Maybe I can make your day better? Go ahead, have at me,” the man says.
Letting out an irritated sigh, you confess.
“The only thing that can make me happy at the moment, is if you can somehow give me a job at UA Corp.”
You chuckle, the utter impossibility of what you just said made it humorous. “Really?” The man says. “Really,” you replied back.
“I think I can do that,” he says, his tone relaxed and suave—he sounds as if he can in fact…do that.
“As if,” you snort.
“You wanna make it a bet?” He says, his tone was playful and a tad bit flirtatious. “I can get you to work for the top pro-hero’s in the country, all I need to do is make the call.” He says as every word falls off his tongue with no effort.
This peaks your interests.
“You don’t say?” you reply back.
“Who do you want to work for sweetheart? Just give me any name.” He says.
“Okay…Dynamight, I—I want to become a secretary! That’s the position!” You say, your tone desperate and hopeful.
The man smirks behind his mask, “Okay.” Pulling out his phone, he hands it to you. “Give me your number, you’ll be getting a call soon.” He says, biting your lip you grab the phone and do as he says.
You're well aware of the dangers of blindly accepting what strangers say; it's like common sense 101. And yet, here you are, drawn towards a man who's covered in black from head to toe. It's not the smartest move, but there's just something about him that makes you want to place your faith in him. You can't quite put your finger on it—maybe it's the intensity of his gaze, or the air of mystery surrounding him—but you can't help but feel a strange attraction towards him. It's a risky move, but sometimes you just have to trust your gut, even if it defies all reason.
“Do you promise?” You spoke softly, this earns a chuckle out of the man, “Of course! You’re making a deal with a god—not a devil.”
As you gaze into the stranger's dark eyes, you can't help but feel a shiver run down your spine. There's something about him that doesn't sit right, and whatever god he may or may not represent, he's not exactly acting like one. But despite your reservations, you continue to chat with him, and as the conversation flows, you begin to let your guard down. Eventually, you find yourself sinking back into your seat, pouting slightly as you polish off the rest of your meal. You can't quite put your finger on it, but there's just something about this mysterious man that's drawing you in, despite all the warning signs.
You're not quite sure how to process the choices you've made, given how impulsive they were. It's not exactly the wisest decision to act on a whim fueled by intense emotions, but you simply didn't give a damn. Life's been pretty rough lately, and if things are already this bad, then why not make them even worse? That seems to be your thought process, as you ride the waves of your tumultuous feelings, consequences be damned.
throwing your utensils into the empty bowl, you gather your things and shuffle out of the booth. Standing before the mysterious man, you frown. "are you going to eat anything?" you ask.
"Nah, I think I'm gonna eat somewhere else...you've made me have a taste for something different." Soon, the man jumps out of his seat and walks away, brushing past your shoulder with ease.
Astonished, you look back and watch the man leave out the restaurant in a hurry.
What just happened?
for the rest of the day, you carried yourself through your regular routine. eat, think, cry, repeat. As day turned to noon, and noon falls to night...you grew anxious for a reply from the mysterious man you met earlier today. Heart pounding and blood running cold you sit in your apartment kitchen, your phone a couple of feet away from you on the kitchen counter. As you were sitting on the other side, the wooden chair creaked with every movement you made.
You didn't know what to think of the situation before you, looking around the apartment, the shadows grew as you fell deeper into the times of night. Looking at the clock, it read 10:39pm.
Letting out a sigh, you rise from your seat and grab your phone. you head into your bedroom, crashing onto your bed (that could be softer) you lay and stare at the ceiling.
"Is this my life now?" you questioned yourself.
You purse your lips and shut your eyes tight, hoping to drift off into slumber and escape the terrible day that's left you feeling like crap. Sleep seems like the perfect distraction—a chance to shut out the world and forget all the stress and negativity that's been weighing you down. With a deep breath, you try to clear your mind and let yourself sink into the warm embrace of sleep, hoping that tomorrow will be a better day.

RING RING RING RING
RING RING RING RING
RING RING RING RING
the sounds of your phone sound an alarm through your body, shooting up from your bed you scramble to your phone. breath staggered and heart pounding, grabbing the phone you read the contact number.
ANONONYMUS CALLER
eyeing the phone more, you read the time. 5:57am? It's way too early to be answering calls...but you knew this call could be important. Taking in a deep breath, you answer the phone.
"h-hello?" you say, you breathed hard onto the other end. Anticipating the voice on the other end of the phone. A moment has passed by, the phone still attached to your ear, you sit on your bed waiting for someone to speak.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" you ask again, you hear nothing but static on the other end. Swallowing your spit, you curse and begin to end the call.
"l/n, isn't it?" a familiar voice rang out, eyes widening you press your ear back onto the phone. "yes! This is she!" you softly exclaimed.
"you've got the job, I'm sending you the location of where you need to be...meet me there at 8:30am sharp not a minute before, not a minute after. Do you understand me?" the voice rang cold, monotone, and raspy.
your heart was jumping out of your skeleton at this point, unable to refuse, you complied. "Okay! Thank you again, for helping me...whoever you are," you say.
"Don't mention it, you'll know who I am, and soon everything will fall into place," maybe you were hearing things, but you could hear a twinge of humor in his tone.
before you could reply, the phone disconnected from the call. you couldn't believe it. "I'm working for Dynamight?" you say aloud, in disbelief. A smile etched onto your face, but you soon wiped it off.
Standing from your bed, you began to pace. "let's not celebrate now y/n, there are still many factors that need to be noticed..."
factors which are:
where is this location?
this could be a trafficking scam
you could be dead in a couple of hours
but what if it was real?
The power of belief was astounding—it seemed that the mere possibility of something being real outweighed all other considerations tenfold. Excitement bubbled up inside you as you prepared to head to the location, eagerly zooming around your room to fix your hair and makeup. You even practiced your best customer service voice, running through lines and mentally rehearsing how you would handle different scenarios. All that mattered was making a good impression, and the prospect of the unknown made your heart race with anticipation.
"How can I help you Mr. Dynamight?" "Your meeting is scheduled at this time Mr. Dynamight" "Would you like any coffee Mr. Dynamight?" you in your sweetest voice possible. Giggling in excitement you reach for the bottom drawer of your dresser. Pulling the drawer, you smile with excitement.
"The time has come, you're finally getting what you deserve." Looking down at the clothes before you, you planned on wearing this outfit for the first day on the job.
You expected to find your outfit covered in cobwebs when you pulled it out of the drawer, but to your surprise, it was in impeccable condition. Not a single wrinkle marred the pristine fabric, and there wasn't a single stain to be found. You had ironed and steamed everything to perfection, determined to look your absolute best. Your outfit was the epitome of sophistication - a classic white button-down paired with sleek black work pants and matching heels. You couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as you admired yourself in the mirror, ready to tackle whatever challenges lay ahead.
throwing your clothes on, you read the clock, 7:51am. eyes widening, you look at yourself in the mirror one last time before grabbing your things and rushing out the door.
flagging down a taxi, you hurriedly give the driver the location. your heart leaped from your chest once more when you read the location details on the screen.
DYNAMIGHT RIOT HERO AGENCY ©
this is seriously happening? you thought to yourself.
"you work there ma'am?" the taxi driver asks. a new rush of pride washes over you, "yes, I do...it's my first day." you say, a shy smile paints over your face. "congrats, I heard it's not so easy getting a job at places like that, my niece tried to work there but got denied after 2 years of interviews."
"wow," was the only word that could come out of your lips.
"how'd you get in? connections?" he pries. "um...you could say that, but I think I got here out of pure luck, you wouldn't believe it." You chuckle, the man smacks his lips at your reply, obviously upset at your success. Forming your mouth into an "oh," you sit back in your seat and look away from the man.
The silence between you and the man lingered awkwardly for what felt like an eternity, as the taxi sped on for the next 20 minutes. You were relieved to finally see the agency's headquarters looming up ahead, massive in size and bold in color. The building stood tall, almost like a skyscraper, with bright hues of red and orange radiating from its walls. Your eyes widened in amazement as you watched countless people streaming in and out of the entrance, going about their day-to-day business. As the taxi slowed to a stop, the driver tried to navigate his way toward the front of the building, and you couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement and nervousness at what lay ahead.
"Thank you!" before the taxi could even stop, you jump out of the vehicle. Throwing your total amount for the ride into the car, you slam the door and rush towards the building. Clutching your briefcase tight, you swallow the lump in your throat.
Before stepping forward, you feel your phone vibrate. It's another text from the man you met yesterday.
ANONYMOUS:
walk into the building and head straight into the right elevator by the bathroom, when you get in go to the 21st floor.
when you get there, there will be a front desk. ask for red. tell them your name, and they'll know who you are.
a lady will lead you into a room, wait there until further notice.
"Here goes nothing," putting the phone away you do as you were told and walk into the building. you were absolutely astonished by the size of the first floor, to the point where you became overwhelmed. businessmen and woman hustling to their destination, mascots dancing to the faint music, trying to stay on the beat but the sound of children screaming in amusement drown out the tempo. tour guides leading the way for curious visitors.
This place was a workplace war zone...
Letting your heels carry you away, you head towards said elevators. you waited patiently in line to enter the elevator. looking at the elevators, you look at the vinyl art on it. It's a picture of Dynamight and his partner Red Riot, fists in the air and victorious smiles shining bright you read the quote on the elevator.
"Work hard, grab victory by the throat, and win!"
Very Dynamight coded, you'll say.
Packing into the elevator like sardines, you notice there's an assistant there who presses the buttons. Do they seriously need a position like that here? "Floor 21 please!" you yell out. You notice the multiple workers give you an unreadable look, frowning you hang your head low in embarrassment.
After a good 2 minutes of waiting your turn, you finally reach your designated floor. squishing past the still rather large group of people, you take in a deep breath of fresh air. Holding your briefcase tight, you look back and thank the assistant.
"good luck, you'll need it," the assistant and everyone else in the elevator starts to burst into a fit of laughter. Confused, you were about to ask why but the elevator quickly closed. Adjusting your uniform, you bite the inside of your cheek.
"Don't let them get to you y/n, this is your dream," you reassure yourself, stepping towards the front desk. you see a lady, her mid-forties at least. typing rapidly at her computer. "Excuse me, ma'am," you say softly, you watch as the lady's typing comes to a swift halt.
"yes?" she says, rather rudely, still looking at her computer.
Blinking, a little bit held back from shock "Hi, I'm here to see Red? I-I'm l/n y/n." The lady soon lets out a chuckle, turning away from you, she opens up a drawer and pulls out a paper. Pulling at the paper, she grabs a pen and writes your name down and hands you a name tag sticker.
As you examined the sticker more closely, you couldn't help but cringe at its childish design. Tiny caricatures of pro-heroes adorned the borders of the "Hi, my name is!" label, and you felt a pang of embarrassment as you peeled it off and quickly slapped it onto the left side of your chest, right over your heart. It was a small gesture, but it hurt your pride to have to wear something so unprofessional.
"Please walk into that room over there...and also, word of advice, you should start wearing all black," the lady smirks, taking her hands and running them down her body. showing you that she is in fact, wearing all black. Looking down at your white shirt, you face heats up from your embarrassment. "may I ask why?" you say. The lady continues to do her work, not even giving you a look of acknowledgement.
Nodding, you give a polite bow and head into the waiting room. As you walk into the room, you're filled with shock. the room was quite large...but there was only one seat? Deadpan in the middle of the room, the metal chair sits unharmed. you laugh out of nervousness, the sight of the chair makes the embarrassment you felt merely seconds ago wash away.
Walking to the seat, you sit and patiently wait. The sound of the fluorescent lights buzzing, at the white noise, fills your eardrums. you quietly tapped your fingertips against your briefcase to the imaginary beat in your head. looking around, all you see is the grey carpeting and white walls, and the tv straight ahead of you.
You waited for a good 30 minutes in silence, distracting yourself on your phone as you waited, and waited, and waited. You constantly kept checking your messages, hoping for another anonymous message, but was left with a dry phone.
letting out a sigh, you frown. "is this some joke?" looking around the room, you spot a security camera behind you in the corner of the room. it's blinking red light flashing into your eyes, turning around you ponder to yourself.
"This must be a joke, that's why everyone has been laughing at me this whole time. I should've never came here," defeated, you began to gather your things. As you stood up to head for the door, the lights soon cut off. you let out a yelp, walking in the dark your hands extend out for the chair behind you, soon with a sigh you sit down. The tv you saw soon cuts on, a bright white screen shines and takes over the whole room.
"WELCOME L/N Y/N!" the screen says blankly, the text blinking on and off, if this was supposed to invoke excitement, it's doing the bare minimum. you stare at the screen and wait for anything else, but the screen soon goes black. another minute in the dark passes by as you sit in your seat absolutely dumbfounded.
The screen turns on again, this time there's faint music sounding from it. soon you see a random person on the screen, probably a paid actor. "hello there fellow newbie! Welcome to Dynamight Riot Hero's Headquarters! Today, I'll be with you along the ride as we both become secretaries!" the actress, obviously way too happy to be here inquiries.
after watching the 10-minute-long do's and don't's video, the screen blinks to white again. squinting your eyes at the bright light, the black sans serif font shows on the screen again.
KEY REMINDERS:
DON'T TELL ANYONE YOU'RE A SECRETARY!
BE A GOOD WORKER!
ALWAYS BE ON TIME!
AND MOST OF ALL: WORD HARD!!
soon after the screen turns off, a couple of seconds go by and the room lights flash back on, you hiss as you cover your eyes so you don't get flash-banged for the fifteenth time. eyes still covered, you hear a door open and footsteps walk towards you.
uncovering your eyes, you look towards the floor to adjust to the bright white lighting. "so sorry, just give me a second!" you nervously chuckle. "don't worry, take your time!" the voice says politely.
wait, that voice.
It's the man you saw yesterday! Your hand soon uncovers your eyes and you look up. "It's you-" eyes shooting wide, your hand flings towards your mouth.
Red Riot?
"ah, guilty as charged! Happy to see me and not some creep aren't ya? You really need to have a better guard, I could've just been anybody!" he laughs. A frown soon shows on your face, "so you were the guy at the ramen restaurant? Why the hell was you there?" you growl. The pro-hero frowns playfully at your attitude.
"tone, little miss! that isn't a way to talk to your new boss. you know, I thought we let in a complete stranger for a second! you look so different when your face isn't soaked with tears and runny mascara." he jabs at you with a mischievous grin which makes you roll your eyes.
"Whatever. And Boss? Dynamight's my boss!" you argue. Red Riot rolls his eyes at your words, "Last time I checked, my name is out on that building and in that shitty little video you just watched." He says, somehow sounding so polite cursing at you. "And you're gonna wish you worked for me and instead of him by the end of the day"
looking at him, your frown never left your lips, "can we start now?" you say.
"Sure! right this way!" he says, walking away from you, you hurriedly grab your bags and walk alongside him. before you could reach the door the hero turns and blocks your way from seeing the other side.
"Also, uh...wear all black next time." he says, his eyes travel down your figure, and you bite your lips in embarrassment. "why?" you ask. "Because it is a thing we do here, we want everyone to be seen as equals to us, we are all people here at the end of the day, hence we all wear the same thing. Plus, it's because we say so and it looks cool." he chuckles to himself at his last words, turning around he walks away.
As you walked into the office setting, you couldn't help but feel a sense of shock and disbelief. Everywhere you looked, it seemed like the people around you were robots going about their tasks with mechanical precision. Everyone wore the same drab black outfits, and you couldn't help but wonder if it was some kind of strange joke.
The more you walked, you could feel the eyes of the other employees snapping toward you, their stifled chuckles and whispers following you with every step. It was as if they were all in on some kind of inside joke, and you couldn't help but feel like an outsider in this strange, black-button-down world.
As Red Riot led you around the office, you couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over you. Here you were, walking alongside one of the most legendary heroes of all time. It was hard to believe that this was actually happening - that you were standing in the same room as Red Riot himself. Despite your nerves, you couldn't stop smiling as you walked, eagerly listening to every word that he had to say. It was as if you were soaking up every moment of this incredible experience, committing it all to memory so that you could remember it forever. As you continued to explore the office, you knew that this was a moment that you would never forget.
"And here's our final stop! The boss's office, the one and only Dynamight's quarters" he says. "you'll be in and out of here often, so get ready for that," he chuckles. you quickly nod at his words, "before I let you in this room, do you have any questions?" he asks. you shake your head no, licking your lips you look forward at the doors. The golden plate shined brightly as it read his name:
PRO-HERO DYNAMIGHT: かつき ばくご
"Alright then!" soon, the hero bangs on the door. "see you around, fresh meat! by the way, cute sticker" he laughs, walking away from you. You were left standing in shock, did he just leave you here all alone?
"Come in," you hear a voice say. eyes snapping towards the door. You let out a shaky breath. Grabbing the door handle you slowly twist. "don't be a pussy y/n, you wanted this!" you whisper to yourself. Pushing the door open, words couldn't express the emotions you felt at this moment. Looking at your one and only inspiration in front of you, in all his glory.
Dynamight!
The sun was rising outside, casting a golden light over the room and illuminating the blond hair of the number one hero. As he looked into your eyes, you couldn't help but notice the way that his amber irises seemed to glow in the light. It was as if he was lit from within, radiating power and confidence. You took a quick glance at his attire and noticed that he was wearing a simple black shirt and matching sweatpants. It wasn't exactly business casual, but who were you to judge? This man was the number one hero, after all. He could walk in wearing a clown suit and you wouldn't bat an eyelash.
"You're the new hire? Right?" he says, his voice deep and captivating, way calmer than what you've seen on tv as it is early in the morning. You nod your head, the hero guides his hand towards the open seat in front of his desk, you follow and sit in the comfortable leather chair.
"Yes, my name is L/n Y/n!" you spoke softly, "I know." He spits back, you blame it on the early mornings. "Here are some ground rules we need to set in place, firstly..."
As he continued to speak, you found yourself hanging on his every word, completely swept up in his presence. It was almost surreal to be sitting across from the pro-hero, and you couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and disbelief. You quickly pinched your thigh, just to make sure you weren't dreaming.
As you looked at Dynamight, you couldn't help but feel a flutter in your stomach. Seeing him in person was a completely different experience altogether - and you couldn't help but think that he was even more attractive up close. Maybe it was the fact that he was being so soft-spoken with you at the moment. How many people had actually seen him like this before? You couldn't help but wonder if this was a rare occurrence, and you silently thanked the heavens and the stars above that you were one of the few lucky ones to witness it.
The way his muscles flex as he holds your résumé–
Wait, how did he get your résumé?
“Excuse me?” You chime in, the pro-hero hangs his head low for a moment. Lifting his head up, he lets out a sigh, “I don’t like to be interrupted…" he looks down at your name tag for a mere moment, "l/n” he says. “I’m sorry I just have a question,” you state.
“Shoot,” he says, sarcasm oozing from his tone.
“How exactly did you get my résumé?” You asked, “What? Did you think we weren’t going to do a background check on you? You could be some psychotic fan for all I fuckin’ know,” he says, the morning rasp in his tone sends you ablaze as heat rises to your face.
“Oh! Right, well I’m not so,” you awkwardly chuckled. “Yeah I know, you’ve gotta…pretty good lookin’ résumé here,” the hero flips through a couple of pages, confirming his words.
You couldn’t believe it, the Dynamight called you qualified for the job! “Thank you so much! It means a lot to me that–“
“Okay listen, l/n, it’s early in the morning, and me and my partner just came back abroad from a goddamn mission. So imagine how I feel sitting here at this desk talkin’ to you and filling out these papers instead of in my bed sound fuckin’ asleep. I’m gonna need you to tone it down alright?” He says, his tone raises as he grows irritated at your chipper attitude.
Blinking you bow in your seat, “I’m sorry Mr. Dynamight!” You spoke softly. “Don’t call me that, please just…don’t.” The hero rises from his seat and walks towards the door, you quickly stand up and follow suit.
“What should I call you then?” You spoke, his back facing towards you, the man let out a deep sigh, his palm cradling his neck. Rubbing the sensitive spot as he quietly hisses in pain.
“Just call me Dynamight, I don’t need people to go around calling you a lost puppy looking for their owner with the damn honorifics,” he says.
A brief moment of silence enveloped the large office, as the sound of the ticking clock grew increasingly louder with each passing second. Suddenly, Dynamight broke the stillness with a deep, audible sigh, turning to face you with a look of slight exasperation on his face. It was clear that he had a lot on his mind and a lot to worry about. And it seems like you're not making it any easier.
“When you came up here to this room, I hope you noticed why everyone was laughing at you. I want you to take what you went through into deep analysis…l/n.” He says, tone sharp and crude as his eyes bore into your being.
“Why’d you sit in that waiting room with only one fuckin’ chair? Eh?” He says, a hint of humor in his tone. Your frown at him, looking down you try to really think back as to what happened.
“I’m sorry, Dynamight—I’m not sure.” You spoke, this makes the hero frown. “The reason why—is because every secretary that has worked for me, has quit.”
oh.
Swallowing your spit, you nod understanding the real reasoning behind the dirty looks and laughs. “Every single secretary that has been under me quits in no less than three months you wanna know why? Because of me.” He says as a sinister smile tugs at his lips, almost as if he’s proud of it.
“Well…how do you know that I’m not different?” You mumbled. The hero lets out a chuckle, because—I got a feeling you won’t last a month. You can prance around here with your happy attitude and white button-down, but I and you both know that you’re supposed to wear black.”
Why the hell does wearing black matter so much here?!
“So you’ve already defied me once, you get three strikes, no if, and's, or but's about it. And we both know what happens when you get to strike three,” he says smugly. “Don’t we?” He asks. Frowning, you hung your head low to avoid his fiery gaze.
“Yes…Dynamight, we do.”
You couldn't deny the fact that you were a little bit scared about what the future held for you here. But at the same time, you couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as you walked through the office. You were determined to make the best of this opportunity, even if it meant dealing with a difficult boss or two. After all, you were ready to face any challenge that came your way, as long as it meant being able to take this incredible opportunity.
“Good,” he says, his smile drops and he soon opens the door, letting it slam onto the wall. This makes you jump, you quickly gather your things and follow behind.
You watch as all the employees ride from their seats and greet the hero. But he doesn’t give as much as a mumble back in reply.
“You’re going to be following me around for the day, can you do that task?” He asks, you nod and speak, “Yes, Dynamight I can.”
You were happy to be alongside the hero, he was your inspiration, your happiness, your sadness, but little did you know from now on.
You’d hate his guts.

MHA Mezo Shoji x Reader - Make Believe - II
Summary: You ask Shoji to pretend to be your boyfriend for a dinner with your parents.
Warnings: Long, multi-parted, fluff, mutal pining, fake dating trope, mild language, fem!reader, not proofread
Tumblr media
After classes ended for the day, you retired to your dorm, jumped into a quick shower, and sat at your desk to apply your makeup. Glancing in the mirror, you meticulously looked over yourself, fussing over the littlest detail. After a bit, you sigh, giving up on chasing perfection and stood, walking over to your closet to find something to wear.
A floor up and across the hall from you, Shoji did the same, toweling off his wet, silver hair before running a comb through it to straighten any rogue strands. Fligging through his closet, he struggled to find something suitable for meeting his 'girlfriend's', parents. Due to his quirk and stature, most of his wardrobe was sleeveless, though he did have an idea.
-----
Sitting on a train station bench, you once again found yourself nervous, fidgeting, and looking for Shoji. Shuffling the train tickets in your hands, you began to worry he might have backed out, making you worry. Pulling out to call him, you suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder- or more accurately, three.
"Hey, sorry I'm a bit late." A smooth voice called from behind you prompting you to turn around, a blush creeping across your face upon laying eyes on him. "Hope I didn't worry you." Shoji wore a navy blue turtleneck, sleeveless of course, with grey slacks, loafers, and a grey sports coat draped around his shoulders, which hid most of his arms.
"Shoji..." you gasped lightly. "I don't think I've ever seen you wear sleeves!" you commented, before realizing how rude it must have sounded. "I-I mean, I like how you normally dress but...y-you look handsome with sleeves..." you stammered, glancing away and rubbing the back of your neck.
"Sleeves aren't exactly practical for me, nor are they comfortable," he says, offering you a hand to help you up. "But, dress to impress, as they say." You take his hand, letting him pull you up and you both begin walking towards the appropriate train. "By the way, you look lovely, if I may say. I can't place what you've done differently, but whatevcer it is looks nice."
"Thanks, Shoji..." you smiled, blushing a bit as you both boarded.
Finding your seats, you slid in first, him allowing you to have the window seat. After you both settled in and the train began to move, you spoke again. "It's nearly an hour-long ride, do you think we should, I don't know- practice?"
"What exactly were you wanting to practice, (Y/L/N)?" Shoji asked, cocking a suspicious brow.
"N-Nothing like that!" You fuss, punching his arm lightly, blushing. "Don't be a perv!"
"Hey," he puts his hands up in defense. "I didn't say anything specific. If you think I meant something perverted, you made it up yourself which makes you the perv."
"I meant like get our story straight!" you whined, slumping your shoulders dramatically. "Like how we met, how long we've been together- that sort of thing!"
Shoji thought for a moment, humming. "How about, we say we met at school because we did, and we've been together for about six months. That's a short enough time to justify me not meeting them sooner, but a long enough time for it to make sense that I'm meeting them now."
"Yeah, that makes sense!" you chirp, nodding. "I didn't even think of that, you're so smart, Shoji!"
"I know." he joked with a smirk before continuing. "By the way, you should probably call me Mezo,"
You blush lightly at the idea of using his first name, indicating a closer relationship. "How come?"
"It'd be weird if we still called each other by our formal names six months into a relationship." he rationalized. "Are you alright with me calling you (Y/N)?"
You nodded with a sweet smile. "Yeah, I don't mind at all, Shoj-" You caught yourself and corrected with a clearing of your throat. "Ahem, Mezo."
The way the corners of his eyes creased told you that he was smiling without having to see his lips. "That's better. By the way, do you think we should get the awkward stuff out of the way while we have the chance?"
"What do you mean?" you asked, cocking your head to the side while glancing up at him.
"Like PDA and stuff," he replied, glancing up at the ceiling of the train away from your gaze, rubbing the back of his neck, almost nervously. "Won't it look suspicious if we don't touch each other at all all night?"
"I figured we'd cross that bridge when we got to it." you say, shrugging, not understanding why he was so concerned.
"But it won't look as natural if it's the first time, right?" Now that he mentioned it, he had a point. It'd be odd for a couple of six months to still not hug or hold hands.
"I guess that makes sense. What do you think we should do?" you ask, humming as you thought.
"Well," he said. "Practice makes perfect?" He offered you his main right hand, staring down at you expectantly. You slipped your hand into his, red-faced, noting how warm his palm was and how his hand dwarfed yours. "There," he smiled. "We can just hold hands for a few minutes to get used to it. That okay?"
You were astonished at how gentle he was being with this all. He didn't even want to do it when you first asked, now he was sharply dressed, and doing whatever he could to make the ruse look as real as possible. Here he was, on the train to your hometown, holding your hand like it were a baby bird- fragile, but in need of warmth and structure.
After a few minutes, the pair of you had naturally begun to relax against each other, arms pressing together and weight being distributed more evenly. It was inevitable that your head would fall on his shoulder, and even more so that you would shoot back up, apologizing profusely.
"Oh, Shoji, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get too comfortable!" You fussed, cheeks aglow.
He simply chucked at you, serene as always. "I promise, it's alright. The more comfortable we get with one another, the better we'll sell this thing. Besides, we're barely doing anything, you act like you've never done this before." Your silence spoke volumes and he quickly came to the conclusion on his own. "Oh, my God, you've never done this before."
You hissed, shushing him as if any of the few other riders would comprehend the context of the conversation enough to understand the secret. "Okay, okay, fine! I've never held hands with anyone before, or cuddled, or kissed, or anything else! I'm eighteen and I've yet to have any firsts, okay? Is that what you want to hear?"
Sensing he'd struck a nerve, Shoji decided to back off. "My bad, just figured someone like you would have some kind of romantic experience is all."
"What do you mean 'someone like me'?" you asked in an accusitory tone.
"I didn't mean anything by it!" he swore, raising his hands up again. "Just...well you're a very pretty girl, I would have assumed you'd have guys lined up miles waiting to hold your hand."
You didn't think you could ever get over how he complimented you- so matter of fact, but so suave at the same time. It made it hard for you to discern what was real and not.
"Well, I don't, okay?" you confessed. "I've never had a reciprocated crush, so I never got the chance to do anything like this. That's why my Grandma wants to see him in a relationship before she passes."
"I see," he replied simply, giving you space to continue.
"And now I'm realizing most of my firsts..." you paused, heart sinking will be entirely fake. Maybe this was a bad idea..."
One of Shoji's other hands took over the duty of holding your hand while the other set of arms wrapped around you in a protective wing. "Hey, don't think of it like that." He said comfortingly. "Technically, if it's pretend, it shouldn't count, right?" He rationalized, trying to ignore the nagging voice in the back of his head that told him he wasn't good enough to be any of your firsts. "You can still save those moments for someone special."
You thought about what he said for a moment before speaking again. "I guess that's true, but will it still feel the same?"
"I don't think I can tell you that, (Y/N)." Shoji chuckled nervously. "I think that's for you to discover on your own." He readjusted his posture, feeling you relax against his side, prompting him to do the same. "But if you ever want someone to practice with, I'm your guy..." He thought allowed, barely audibly.
Your face burned at his words, but you couldn't bring yourself to speak. This 'practice' was nice, and it wasn't like you were doing anything wrong, just some light cuddling on the train. Your mind began to wonder what other things he might be able to practice with you. "Shoji...?"
He hummed in response, one of the ends of his arms morphing into an ear that rested on your shoulder to hear you better. "Do you think we should practice...more things? Y-You know, just to make the act more convincing?" you asked anxiously, eyes glued to your lap as you awaited his response.
"What did you have in mind?" he muttered, feeling the blood rush to his cheeks under his mask.
"W-Well.." you stammered, struggling to find footing on what you wanted to say. "We hug all the time, and we've already held hands and cuddled so I guess that leaves..."
"Do you want me to kiss you?" He asked, cutting straight to the point.
You shrunk at his blunt nature, one hand in his and the other gripping the fabric over your knee to ground you. "W-Well uhm," you stuttered, unsure of what you were even trying to articulate at this point. All you knew was that you wanted it, but it felt wrong in a way. "I-I've never..."
"Doesn't have to be a real kiss, doesn't count, remember?" He said, cooly, thumb brushing over your shoulder. "But only if you want to." You simply nodded timidly, glancing up at him to find him already staring back, usually mysterious eyes now full of comfort. Leaning in close, the pair of you began to bridge the gap, each tilting your heads in the respective direction. Your eyes fluttered shut first, giving Shoji a lovely view of you expectantly waiting for a kiss. Following suit, he let his eyes close, inching ever closer until he could feel the ghostly presence of your lips brushing against his clothed ones.
Suddenly, as he was about to firmly press his lips to yours, the train came to a stop, prompting the both of you to separate like oil and water. Your head shot up, searching for some sign of emergency, but instead, you were greeted with the familiar sight of the train station in your hometown. "W-Wha-?" you questioned, confused. "We can't already be here, it hasn't been that long."
Pulling his phone from his left pocket, Shoji clicked it on, grateful to have a distraction from the heat in his face. "6:05," he said, gathering his composure. "Been almost an hour since we left."
"Oh..." you accepted, gathering your things, ignoring how your cheeks burned. "I-I guess we must have just lost track of time..."
"Guess so..."

Another day, another discourse comparing and contrasting Shoya and Shoko’s relationship in A Silent Voice with Katsuki and Izuku’s relationship in My Hero Academia.
At the end of the day, you’ll never get a 1:1 comparison with these two cases due to the fact that 1) They belong to vastly different genres, 2) One is far longer than the other and 3) One is a grounded character drama and coming of age tale.
But…
I think that A Silent Voice provides a fairly good basis for judging the way MHA handles the relationship development of two characters, where one used to bully the other and an arc of atonement occurs. More importantly, comparisons to A Silent Voice highlight the shortcomings of Katsuki and Izuku’s relationship development and allows me to understand and actually communicate what I don’t like about the way the story handles it.
In my opinion, what sets these two stories apart in the way they handle the atonement arcs of their respective bullies is the way they portray consequences. The big “C” word tends to elicit a hostile reaction from certain fans, who assume that your idea of consequences must necessarily involve the bully character being gratuitously punished and made to suffer as retribution for their past actions. But a consequence is just the “result or affect of an action or condition” and can range in severity, it can have many different effects.
A Silent Voice uses social consequences to prompt change from its main character. Shoya’s bullying results in him being shunned by his classmates and friends, and the story goes to great lengths to show how his actions not only hurt his victim, but that they also hurt people he cared about. His mom has to reimburse Shoko’s mom for the damaged hearing aids (when she is already short on money) for example. Furthermore, the knowledge of his past is something that impacts the way others perceive him, and that change in perception is essential to his arc.
More importantly, A Silent Voice makes it clear to the viewer/reader that despite Shoko generally being a kind and forgiving person, the bullying still hurt her deeply enough to leave a long lasting impression. Shoko is receptive to Shoya’s will to change, but the story doesn’t ignore that Shoko suffered greatly and that the bullying made her sad, frustrated and even angry. Her negative emotions are not overshadowed by her desire to see Shoya become a better person.
The thing that holds me back from enjoying Katsuki and Izuku’s relationship development is the lack of consequences Bakugou receives for his bullying (which is directly connected to the way the narrative denies Izuku both agency and introspection) The hard truth is that Bakugou faces little to no consequences for his past behaviour, and one would think that such a topic would have to be brought up at some point because, ya know…he goes to a hero school. A HERO school, a place where people train to be role models, help people on a large scale and protect those who cannot protect themselves.
The first scene we see with Bakugou depicts him as the opposite of a hero. A mean bully who beats up people weaker than him, and this is emphasized by the fact that he targets Izuku, who has no means of defending himself. Despite this, he gets into UA, which isn’t necessarily a problem because it communicates a major flaw in the system that cultivates heroes (Overlooking certain problematic traits in favour of innate talent and strength) BUT, the information that he used to be a bully never comes up among his classmates in any major or lasting way. We saw his classmates, and even his new friends discuss or think about how much they abhor bullying. The students of class 1A do not like it when people abuse their strength to pick on those weaker than them…yet that never seems to connect back to Bakugou’s past as a bully.
This issue is exacerbated by the lack of attention given to Izuku’s side of the story. In stories that involve the atonement or redemption of a bully, it is CRITICAL that the victim’s side of the story is treated as something equally important to the bully’s side. It’s not something that can just be overshadowed by the bully’s side, it must be focused on in order for the atonement arc to work.
It’s disappointing that Izuku lacks the introspection that Katsuki gets, and very unsatisfying that it effectively lets Katsuki off the hook for literally every bad thing he’s ever done. The ways the bullying might’ve impacted Izuku for the worst is hardly ever discussed because every time the narrative approaches the topic, it always pivots to Izuku praising Katsuki for the things he did right. This is a big problem, because it silences any discussion that focuses on Izuku’s feelings and shines the spotlight on Katsuki instead.
Before I end my little tangent, I also feel the need to say this: Pointing to any instance of Katsuki’s suffering throughout the series IS NOT EVIDENCE OF CONSEQUENCES! Any bad thing will happen to Katsuki and people will proceed to say: “SEE?! Did you see that?? Katsuki HAS faced consequences! How can you say that he never faced consequences for his actions? Why do you want him to suffer?” It’s so disingenuous and it’s a terrible argument that refuses to criticize the text.

The Cold Hands Of Death (Chapter Three)
SUMMARY the USJ, a place meant to teach you rescue and recovery quickly becomes a place of pain, suffering, and loss.
CONTENT WARNINGS violence, graphic descriptions of violence, descriptions of injuries, kidnapping, angst, and grief. For the sake of the series (and my conscience), all characters are aged up while still following the plot of MHA. In other words, think of UA as a college rather a high school.
AUTHORS NOTE for those of you who have watched the anime, you may know that this isn't exactly how the USJ battle went down. I have taken some creative liberties for the sake of the story and considering the fact that they're all college-age in this story, it makes more sense that Aizawa would be more lenient with adults joining the fight than children.

It’s been weeks since you’ve started attending UA, and you can confidently say that you are part of a group of friends. Even as a child, it was just you and Tenko, as neither of you were particularly outgoing, and many kids tended to stay away from Tenko naturally. You thought it might be because of his constant itching, but it had never bothered you before, so you didn’t quite understand why anyone else would be bothered by it.
Tumblr media
Your time at UA had brought new connections. During your first days, you and Todoroki got particularly close through your daily lunch meetups, learning more about each other until you were familiar enough to be on a first-name basis. Shoto was stoic and a little aloof, sure, but he carried so much pain that it seemed to physically weigh him down. He was an enigma to you, one that you felt a primal urge to uncover.
Today was a somewhat normal school day for your class. You went through your common core subjects before meeting with All Might for hero training. However, instead of meeting with the renowned hero, your class was confronted by your homeroom teacher, Mr. Aizawa, who had news of rescue training that would be held in the USJ building with Pro Hero Thirteen, known for their search and rescue capabilities. The class buzzed with excitement, eager to show off their abilities and don their hero costumes again.
You found yourself seated next to Todoroki on the bus, behind Mina and Aoyama, and across from Midoriya and Tsu. The bus hummed with chatter and the anticipation of the upcoming training.
“How are you feeling about natural disaster training?” you asked your new friend—or at least you thought you were friends. Neither of you had really confirmed it, so you were just going with the flow.
Todoroki turned his gaze to you, his mismatched eyes reflecting a moment of contemplation. "It's important," he finally said, his voice measured. "Disasters are unpredictable, and being prepared is essential for a hero."
You nodded, appreciating his straightforwardness. "True. I think it's going to be intense, but it's also a good opportunity to see how we handle real-life scenarios."
He gave a slight nod, his expression softening just a bit. "It will be a challenge, but that's why we're here, right? To become the best heroes we can be."
You nod, choosing not to continue the conversation as you get lost in your own thoughts. Your brows furrow as your mind strays back to Tenko once again. Your heart aches as you think about that night—the night when everything changed. The natural disasters you might face today could resemble that night: crumbled buildings, lost families. You couldn't afford to get lost in flashbacks and fail the people you had been working so hard to impress.
You had even convinced Aizawa to work with you on the side, helping you adapt your ability in the same way he had seen his friend, whom you knew as Present Mic, do. From those lessons, you had learned that your voice was more effective from a distance, making your close combat skills weak and difficult to improve. Your ability might even be useless against villains who could use their quirks during close combat. Aizawa had discussed finding you a tool, similar to his own, to give you an edge in those situations. You had agreed, and since then, you had been waiting for him to bring something to teach you during your one-on-one sessions.
Before long, the bus came to a stop outside the USJ building. Everyone bumped and pushed their way out in excitement. You were grateful for Todoroki, who kept a firm and respectful hand on your side to keep you from falling after watching Midoriya trip. Once everyone was out, Thirteen started her introduction, sharing some helpful words of encouragement along with her instructions. During the mini lecture, Aizawa gave you a look that had you walking off to the side toward the back of the bus, where he met you.
“I thought of something that I could show you to use during close combat scenarios,” he spoke quietly, his hair hiding the blush of embarrassment he was angrily trying to suppress.
“What?” you asked hopefully, your eyes alight with excitement.
In place of a response, Aizawa fiddled with his “scarf,” holding a part of it in his hand. Your eyes widened in realization, a small gasp escaping your lips. “Your scarf?” you asked softly.
“It would make the most sense. I’m the only other person proficient in it, so I’ll be able to teach you firsthand, and I’m sure I could convince the support course to make a close replica of mine. It’s just a thought. If you don’t want to—”
“No!” you quickly interrupted. “T-that would be amazing! Thank you, sensei.” You bowed, your voice holding nothing but reverence and deep gratitude.
Aizawa simply grunted and nodded in response, gesturing for you to rejoin your class, which was walking toward their assigned areas. Suddenly, a low rumbling sound echoed through the chamber, and the air began to warp and distort at the central plaza. Everyone’s attention snapped to the source, eyes widening in shock and confusion. Dark, swirling portals began to materialize, and from them, figures emerged—villains, dozens of them, led by a menacing man with hands covering his body and face.
Aizawa’s voice cut through the rising panic. “Villains! Everyone, stay together and be ready to fight!”
You exchanged a quick glance with Todoroki. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes burned with a fierce determination. He stepped forward slightly, placing himself protectively between you and the approaching villains.
“This is not a drill,” he said, his voice calm but firm. “We need to stay focused.”
You nodded, feeling a surge of resolve. The training you had undergone with Aizawa and the countless hours of practice flashed through your mind. You had worked too hard to falter now.
As the villains advanced, chaos erupted. Aizawa launched himself at the enemies, his scarf whipping through the air as he activated his Quirk to nullify their powers. Thirteen moved to defend the students, using her Black Hole Quirk to suck in and disintegrate debris and attackers alike.
Todoroki’s voice brought you back to the immediate danger. “We need to secure a safe position and plan our counterattack,” he said, his tone steady.
You nodded again, steeling yourself. “Right. I’ll follow your lead.”
Without hesitation, Todoroki extended his right hand, creating a massive wall of ice that blocked the villains’ path, buying you and your classmates precious time. He then turned to you, his eyes intense.
“Use your voice to disrupt their coordination,” he instructed. “We need every advantage we can get.”
You took a deep breath, your heart pounding. Channeling the training you had received, you began to sing, your voice rising and falling in pitch and frequency. The sound waves rippled through the air, causing the villains to stumble and clutch their heads in confusion and pain. Your quirk, Dissonance, was doing its job, disrupting their thoughts and actions.
Todoroki watched your back, ensuring no enemy could approach unnoticed. He glanced at you, admiration flickering in his eyes for a moment before he turned his attention back to the battle. “Good job. Keep it up,” he said, his voice a steady anchor amidst the chaos.
The other students, inspired by the leadership and bravery of their peers, joined the fray. Midoriya charged forward with his powerful punches, while Bakugo’s explosive attacks sent shockwaves through the enemy ranks. Mina’s acid melted obstacles in your path, and Tsu used her agility to maneuver around the battlefield, providing support where needed.
Despite the overwhelming odds, you and your classmates held your ground. Todoroki continued to create barriers and launch strategic attacks, his ice abilities devastating the enemy forces. You maintained your song, each note a weapon in the battle, your throat starting to ache from the strain but your determination unwavering.
As the battle raged on, you and Todoroki found yourselves back-to-back, surrounded by a group of particularly tenacious villains. “Ready?” he asked, glancing over his shoulder at you.
“Always,” you replied, your voice hoarse but resolute.
With a nod, Todoroki unleashed a torrent of ice, and you sang a powerful, disorienting note, the combined force of your quirks driving the villains back. For a moment, amidst the chaos and the danger, you felt a surge of pride and unity. Here, in the heart of the battle, you were not alone. You had friends, allies, and the strength to face whatever came your way.
The chaotic skirmish at the USJ escalated quickly, sending shockwaves through your class as villains poured through the portals. Amid the frenzy, the group was split apart, each student forced to confront threats on their own. You found yourself separated from Todoroki and the others, dodging attacks and desperately trying to regroup.
Suddenly, a massive figure emerged from the chaos—a Nomu, its grotesque appearance and monstrous strength making it a formidable opponent. Before you could react, its powerful grip closed around you, lifting you off your feet and carrying you toward the center of the battle.
Panic gripped you as you struggled against the Nomu’s grasp, trying to break free. Through the haze of fear, you caught glimpses of your classmates fighting valiantly, their shouts and powers blending into a chaotic symphony of battle.
As the Nomu carried you closer to the heart of the villain’s side, a figure stepped forward—a man with disheveled hair and a hauntingly familiar air. His gaze locked onto you with chilling recognition, his lips curling into a twisted grin.
“Well, well, what do we have here?” Shigaraki’s voice sent a chill down your spine, but his face triggered no recognition in your mind. You were too focused on the immediate danger to grasp the significance of the encounter.
Your heart pounded as Shigaraki’s gloved hand reached out, his expression a mix of amusement and malice. “You look lost,” he taunted, his voice low and mocking.
Struggling against the Nomu’s iron grip, you managed to summon enough strength to shout for help, hoping your quirk might have any effect on the monster squeezing the life out of you. But the chaos of battle drowned out your voice to anyone nearby, the Nomu continuing to hold you in a crushing grip unaffected by your qurik.
Shigaraki leaned closer, his eyes narrowing with predatory interest. “Don’t worry,” he whispered, his breath chilling against your ear. “I’ll make sure you remember me.”
His words sent a shiver down your spine, but your mind raced with thoughts of survival, focusing on escaping rather than on the cryptic threat of the villain before you.
The USJ building reverberated with the chaos of battle as heroes and villains clashed in a cataclysmic struggle. Ida escaping had led to All Might's arrival which had initially brought a surge of hope, his towering form casting a momentary calm over the frantic scene. But that calm was shattered as the Nomu, a grotesque amalgamation of muscle and malice, set you down beside Shigaraki and burst into the central plaza, its very presence sending a chill down your spine.
All Might was quick to approach Shigaraki and the Nomu who had achieved its mission in grabbing Aizawa. You let out a gut wrenching scream as you watched your beloved teachers face get pummeled into the concrete, collapsing to the ground in sobs at your failure. All Might had been too late in his arrival, only approaching after Aizawa’s defeat.
“You were a secondary trophy among my mission to defeat the final boss, I am so glad he finally decided to show,” his voice was gratingly calm as he reached out a hand to grip your arm. “Make a move to leave my side and I will kill you,” he warned, four slim fingers wrapping around your bicep, sending a fridgid shiver down your spine in response. “I wasn’t expecting to find your name among those enrolled in the hero program, though any flashes of you always include you talking about heroics, so I shouldn’t be that surprised.”
Your heart sank at his words, tears threatening to spill down your cheeks from fear, your brows furrowed in confusion at his words. The only person you shared dreams of heroics with was Tenko and he was dead, so how the hell did this villian know about it?
“Unhand my student, villian!” All Might called, his smile beaming as he looked to you, “stay strong, kid,” he nodded purposefully.
You turned your head to meet the wide, fearful eyes of your classmates as they watched you closely. It was Todoroki’s eyes that caught yours, holding your gaze as you both silently communicated, his reserve strengthening you from afar. You weren’t sure of the villians quirk, but you knew it activated when he touched something with all five fingers, so you obeyed, not wanting to test your luck.
In the midst of your silent moment with Todoroki, the villian had send that huge beast called the Nomu after All Might, the two of them matched punch for punch in a battle of sheer strength. Most of your classmates had collected Aizawa and stood by the doors to the exit with the injured thirteen as well, leaving only Midoriya, Bakugou, and Todoroki to whitness the big battle first hand with you. The portal guy had seemed to appear at the villians side, encouraging him to return to his base with you when the fight between the Nomu and All Might seemed to be swaying in the winning direction of your teacher.
The villian argued a while, but was eventually convinced, tugging you along with him as a portal appeared at his side.
Panic surged through you as you began to fight against his grip. “No!” you cried out, voice barely audible over the battle, but seemingly to catch Shoto’s attention, his heterochomic eyes widening when he realized the situation.
As if acting on fear alone, he shot a powerful wave of freezing ice at Shigaraki, shouting at you to “hold on!” as the ice berg shot rapidly across the battlefeild, growing in size, but untimately grumbling when the villian raised his hand, touching it and watching it simply collapse into ash.
"Shoto!" you shouted, your voice raw with desperation as you struggled against his hold. But Shigaraki's grip remained firm, his expression a mix of determination and a haunting sadness that you couldn't comprehend amidst the chaos and the weightless feeling of the portal surrounding you.
Meanwhile, All Might's battle with the Nomu reached its climax, the sound of thunderous blows echoing through the chamber. With a final, devastating punch, All Might defeated the monstrous villain, his victory resonating through the building as he stood triumphant amidst the wreckage.
As the dust settled and the heroes began to regroup, the gravity of what had transpired sank in. Todoroki stood frozen in place, guilt and frustration etched on his face as he realized he had been unable to save you. The sense of failure weighed heavily on him, a stark reminder of the harsh realities of heroism.
For you, caught in the clutches of Shigaraki and thrust into a world of uncertainty, questions lingered. Who was this man who claimed to remember you? And what did his cryptic words mean for your future? As you were whisked away into the unknown, the events of that fateful day at the USJ left an indelible mark on your journey as a hero in training.

Dating Rody Soul Headcanons
Fandom: BNHA // MHA — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: fluff, headcanons
Warnings: None
Requested: Yes
>>>>——————————>
Tumblr media
• Trust has to be earned with Rody and if you’re dating then you’ve defiantly gained his and hopefully vice versa. Even if him telling you about his quirk was an embarrassing one for him.
“So… you can’t lie because Pino will…”
“Pretty much yeah.”
“That’s a cool quirk Rody. Pino is amazing and like a companion. You’re lucky to have her.”
“You really think so?”
• Even though you’re together, he is still unfairly charming toward you! Flirting comes easy to him when it’s with you (sentimental feelings are more difficult to express) and you’ll receive winks or cute smirks from across the room etc.
• Rody will always play it cool but if you flirt back Pino will betray his nonchalance by the flustered blushing mess she becomes much to his embarrassment. Then comes the denial and stuttering.
“Aha well you— I— ahem, whatever, you’re cool I guess.”
“Rody, you’re not the only smooth talker you know but don’t worry you’re definitely prettier~”
“That’s not true (Y/n)! Have you seen how beautiful you are? No? Then I’ll show ya!”
• You’ve realised how agile and street smart he is on various outings, and sometimes you arrive early to date meeting points just to catch a glimpse of him gliding from building to building using an array of impressive parkour.
(He has no idea, nor do you intend to tell him).
• If you ask he will teach you a couple of things of course and he’ll be a brilliant teacher, guiding you through things and challenging your level to improve. If you trip he is 100% there to catch you equipped with a flirting / teasing remark and smile.
• Rody will also show an interest in your talents / hobbies and if you’ll allow, participate or learn them with you. If you’re helping him study to be a pilot then he’ll return the love to whatever it is you’re passionate about.
• His siblings are very important and based on Pino, his heart practically melts whenever you include them in your life.
Wanna go to the sea? Let’s bring Roro and Lala for a picnic.
Dinner? Sure we could all cook something together.
The boy is putty in your hands oh my. He would give you the world if he could, but for now you’ll have settle for the little moments he can give you.
• When visiting Rody at work your favourite drink is immediately prepared and waiting for you courtesy of a proud boyfriend - even if Stanleyk teases him for it.
• If you're around long enough, he becomes as protective over you as he is his siblings, in a more loving partner way of course. Just like them, he’ll do whatever he can support you.
• If he's ever stressed or upset Rody tries to hide Pino for you as she always makes a beeline the second you are in sight. He just wants to be strong for you - even if he secretly wants a hug.
• If you offhandedly mentioned liking something, you bet he's going to save up to get it for you. He loves you so much just because of who you are and this is how he can think to show it.
• Sometimes you'll end up buying it yourself first and he'll be really happy for you, only to overhear him moping to his siblings how he missed out on a chance to make you happy.
"I was so close!"
"Uh... can't you just buy (Y/n) something else?" Roro the voice of logic in moments like these.
"It's not the same Roro!"
• You often cook together, sharing different recipes and tricks. There's a small competition going with Roro and Lala, but they favour your joint efforts rather than solo attempts.
In fact they just enjoy your company and seeing how happy you make their big brother. Since he’s always looking out for them, they’re glad he found someone who will look out for him too.
• If you're ever in trouble Pino is shouting in front of you squawking at your offenders, not a second later Rody is there to defend / back you up.
• One of your more interesting dates involved a rusty pick-up that he’d ‘acquired’ and he drove you to a local rural area for stargazing. It was a beautiful night and you’d spoke for hours about anything and everything.
“The stars are so beautiful tonight, thanks Rody.”
“They’re not the only thing that’s beautiful…”
“Oh?”
“Uh-uh this truck, look at it! Peak of engineering.” Yeah Rody, let’s just ignore the admiring doe eyes Pino is currently making at you.
• Worry not though, despite finding hard to express his feelings sometimes he will compliment you genuinely and confidently when he can. Usually they just slip out as easily as breathing when he hasn’t overthought it.
• Overall dating Rody is like having a second family full of warmth and welcoming. Even if things can be a struggle sometimes, you know that as long as Rody have each other, you’ll find a way to overcome anything.

“quirk assessment? but…what about the entrance ceremony? the orientation?” you heard a girl with brown hair say.
you watched as aizawa's eyes narrowed, his expression deadpan as he addressed the girl. "if you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events."
"ua's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are," aizawa continued, his gaze sweeping across the group. "that's also how the teachers run their classes."
you felt the tension in the air ratchet up a notch. the excited chatter from earlier had died down, replaced by an uneasy silence.
aizawa outlined the different activities - the 50-meter dash, grip strength, and long jump.
"alright, let's start with the ball throw," aizawa said, handing you a softball. "y/n, you're up first. show us what you can do."
stepping forward, you gripped the smooth ball in your palm. closing your eyes for a moment, you steadied your breathing, pushing aside the rising tide of anxiety. when you opened them, your gaze locked with aizawa's, finding a quiet reassurance in his steady expression. you imagined the other students' eyes boring into your back, their expectations a crushing pressure. what if you failed? what if your quirk lashed out, hurting someone?
no, stay calm.
you glanced at the distant treeline, wondering how far you could throw without your quirk. not far enough, surely. not impressive enough for ua. the power inside you stirred, a restless beast pacing its cage. it whispered promises of strength, of greatness, but you knew its true nature. destructive. uncontrollable. dangerous.
your feet felt rooted to the ground, your arm refusing to move. you turned to aizawa, eyes pleading. "aizawa-san…i can’t —"
"oi, y/n!"
katsuki's voice cut through your spiraling thoughts like a knife, sharp and insistent. "what the hell are you doing? stop wasting time and throw the damn ball already!"
you flinched at his harsh tone, but beneath the anger, you caught a flicker of something else in his crimson eyes. it was gone before you could decipher it, replaced by his usual scowl.
you took a deep breath, steadying yourself. closing your eyes, you reached deep within yourself, feeling for that familiar well of energy. it surged to meet you, eager and hungry, but this time you didn't recoil. instead, you embraced it, letting it flow through your veins like molten gold.
you activated your quirk. your skin tingled as the power gathered in your palm, a black veil swirling around the softball. you could feel the weight of it, the dense mass compressed into that tiny sphere. you let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding as you realized the ball was still intact, barely touching your palm from the sheer force between, but intact.
with a flick of your wrist, you reversed the gravitational field in your hand. the softball, suddenly released from the crushing force, shot upwards like a rocket, vanishing into the clear blue sky. it hung there for a moment, suspended at the apex of its arc, before plummeting back towards the earth.
the class watched in stunned silence as aizawa held up his phone, the glowing numbers ticking upwards at a dizzying pace. "942.6 meters," he announced, his voice cutting through the hush.
a ripple of shock ran through the students, their eyes wide with disbelief. you stood there, arm still outstretched, hardly daring to move. had you really just done that? the power still thrummed through you, a heady rush of adrenaline and something else, something fierce and exhilarating.
you met aizawa's gaze, seeing the barest hint of a smile tugging at his lips. you allowed yourself to return it.
a second later, the world tilted, the ground rushing up to meet you as your vision swam. your arm felt like lead, the fingers that had gripped the ball tingling with a dull ache. it was like a dam had broken within you. the after-effects of the exertion slammed into you with a vengeance. the anxiety that had clawed at you all morning, the fear of your quirk lashing out, the sheer effort of focusing so much of your strength towards controlling that raw power - it all came crashing down in one debilitating wave.
your head spun, the cheers of your classmates a muffled roar in your ears. panic clawed at your throat, the taste of bile rising in your mouth.
pathetic.
a strong hand gripped your arm, an anchor in the storm that threatened to consume you. you heard aizawa’s voice, so far away. "easy there," he said, his voice low. "you did well. take a seat, catch your breath."
you’re wasting your potential.
but sitting down felt like defeat. you couldn't let them see you like this, weak and trembling. not after you'd just thrown the damn ball further than anyone thought possible. you didn’t even use your power for more than three seconds, at most.
you’re shie hassaikai blood.
you gritted your teeth, pushing back against the insidious whisper.
"i'm fine," you forced out, your voice hoarse. "i can do the next test."
aizawa's brow furrowed. he saw the strain etched on your face. "listen to your body, y/n. recovery girl can—“
you're good for nothing but killing.
"no!" the word ripped from your throat, raw and desperate.
aizawa's gaze held yours. "bakugo. take her inside and make sure she gets some water."
you turned to see katsuki standing there, a scowl etched on his face, but his eyes held a trace of… was it worry?
katsuki didn't wait for another word. he grabbed your arm, surprisingly gentle, and steered you towards the building.
"katsuki," you mumbled, trying to catch your breath. "i can walk myself."
he snorted. "don’t be stupid."
you wanted to argue, but the world tilted again, sending a wave of nausea crashing over you. you bit back a groan, leaning more heavily on his arm.
finally, you reached the cool haven of the building. katsuki pushed open the door and deposited you onto a nearby bench.
he grabbed a paper cup from a nearby dispenser and filled it with water, holding it out to you. you took it gratefully, downing the cool liquid in a single gulp.
"you scared the crap out of me back there," katsuki blurted out, his voice surprisingly quiet.
you raised an eyebrow, surprised by his bluntness. "scared you?"
"yeah," he muttered, looking away. "you looked like you were gonna pass out, or worse."
a small smile tugged at your lips.
"i'm okay now," you assured him, handing the empty cup back. "thanks for the water."
he threw the cup into a nearby trash can before shoving his hands into his pockets, avoiding your gaze. "so," he mumbled, "about that quirk of yours…"
"it's called nihility," you started, voice barely above a whisper. "i can... create these fields of gravitational distortion. it can tear apart anything; erase them.”
"so that's why you were so scared to use it," he finally muttered, eyes fixed on a spot on the floor.  a beat of silence, then, "why didn't you tell me?"
the question hung heavy in the air. you thought of the man, his lifeless eyes staring blankly; the violence all caused by your hands…
the words wouldn't form.  they choked you, trapped in your throat like a scream waiting to be released.
you traced a circle on the wooden bench, your nails digging into the soft material harder than you intended.
“if you can’t say it, then don’t.” katsuki said roughly. “i’m heading back.”
you pushed yourself off the bench cautiously, a hand clasped tightly on the bench’s wooden edge in case dizziness threatened to take over again.
you looked up to see katsuki hovering by the doorway, a frown etched on his face. "you coming or not?"
hesitantly, you straightened. "yeah, i'm coming." you weren't sure if you were ready to face the others again, the weight of their curious stares, the unspoken questions hanging in the air. but the alternative was staying here alone, lost in your own head, and that wasn't appealing either.
as you walked back outside, the sunlight seemed harsher, the cheers of your classmates grating on your nerves. you tried to blend into the background, keeping your head down, but the whispers followed you like a shadow.
"did you see that throw? it was insane!"
"who is she, anyway?"
"maybe she's a recommended student."
you flinched at the last comment. you weren't sure if you wanted the scrutiny that came with being a recommended student, especially not for a quirk like yours.
“a-are you okay?”
you turned to see a boy with unkempt green hair and freckles running towards you with a distressed expression.
“ your quirk was so cool; i’ve never seen anything like it! i was so worried when you almost collapsed though, is your quirk hard to control? mine is also-”
"give her some space, damn deku. can't you see she's not in the mood for a lecture?" katsuki interjected with that harsh tone of his that you were still not used to.
the freckled boy deflated slightly, his smile dimming. "oh, right, sorry! i didn't mean to pry. i just..."
“no, it’s fine,” you reassured, “you’re midoriya izuku, right?”
"y-yes, that's me! and you're…y/n? l-last name...?"
the question hung in the air, unwelcome.
“just y/n is okay.” you said, forcing a smile.
the next few tests passed in a blur. you went through the motions, your body on autopilot while your mind wrestled with the aftermath of unleashing your quirk. the grip strength test was a joke, the meter straining to display the crushing force in your hand. the long jump… well, let's just say the landing zone needed some serious repairs after your attempt.
you glanced around, taking in the confident expressions of your classmates, the way their eyes gleamed with excitement. this was what they were born for. this was their dream.
people in this world were not born equal. for people like you, some dreams were simply not meant to be chased.
hero course, huh.
what the hell were you even doing here?

MHA | Bakugou Katsuki x female!reader ~ Tickets
You’d been planning this moment for weeks now. Tickets in hand, nerves running high, you had finally managed to secure front-row spots to see Korn, a band you and Bakugou Katsuki both loved. Getting to know him hadn’t been easy, but after spending a year at UA, you’d caught glimpses of the third-year who trained harder than anyone you knew. And while he was often closed-off and intense, you’d seen the way his eyes softened when he talked about music, especially rock and metal.
It had taken a lot of courage to invite him, but now, as you waited near the UA gates, your stomach was in knots. Bakugou had actually said yes, and the thought of spending the night with him—just the two of you at an epic concert—was thrilling and terrifying all at once.
When he finally walked up, dressed in a black hoodie with band print and ripped jeans, his hands in his pockets, you could hardly keep the smile off your face.
“Hey, ready to go?” he asked, glancing at you with a raised eyebrow, his voice its usual gruff tone.
“Yeah, let’s go!” you replied, trying to keep your cool as you led the way.
The train ride into town was quieter than you’d expected, though not uncomfortable. Bakugou wasn’t the chatty type, but you didn’t mind; just being there with him felt surreal enough. Occasionally, you’d catch him glancing at you, and every time you made eye contact, he’d smirk before looking away.
As you finally arrived at the concert venue, the energy of the crowd surged around you, filling the air with excitement. The roar of people, the distant sound checks, the sheer vibe—it was like electricity sparking through every fan in the building. It was perfect.
“Damn, you actually got us front-row tickets,” Bakugou said, clearly impressed as he glanced at the wristbands on both your arms.
You laughed a bit nervously. “Yeah, thought you’d like it up close.”
A smirk tugged at his lips, and he leaned in just slightly. “Not bad for an extra.”
His comment sent a thrill through you. As the opening act finished and Korn finally took the stage, the entire place erupted, and you could feel the bass pounding in your chest. There was nothing like live music—especially when it was this intense. Bakugou was fully engrossed, his face lit up by the stage lights as he moved to the beat, his normally guarded expression transformed into one of exhilaration. You couldn’t take your eyes off him.
As the show reached a fever pitch, people started crowding around, jostling for the best view. You struggled to see over the wall of bodies surrounding you, standing on your toes in a futile attempt.
Bakugou noticed, and before you knew it, he leaned down and motioned for you to get on his shoulders.
“What are you—?”
“You wanted to see, didn’t you?” he shouted over the music, a glint of challenge in his eyes. “Come on, hop up.”
With a flush of embarrassment—and excitement—you took his offer, letting him hoist you onto his shoulders. From your new vantage point, you had a perfect view of the band, and it felt like the whole place was alive just for the two of you. You cheered along with the crowd, letting the moment sweep you away. Beneath you, Bakugou’s hands held you securely, and it felt…right.
For the rest of the concert, the two of you were inseparable, caught up in the thrill of the music and each other’s company. When the last song finally ended and the crowd began to disperse, you almost didn’t want it to end.
“That was awesome!” you exclaimed as Bakugou helped you down from his shoulders, still feeling the aftershocks of the concert.
“Hell yeah, it was,” he agreed, a rare grin on his face. “Didn’t think you had it in you to go into the pit.”
“Well, I do know that's the best place to be,” you said, trying to sound confident.
He chuckled, glancing at you in a way that made your heart race. The cool night air hit as you walked out of the venue together, and somehow, that small shared moment felt like an unspoken bond between you.
The train ride back was quieter, the adrenaline of the concert ebbing into a softer, more reflective mood. You stole a glance at him every now and then, marveling at how different he seemed from the intense, battle-ready Bakugou everyone at UA knew.
By the time you reached the dorm gates, you knew you had to say something. You couldn’t let this night end without at least telling him how you felt.
“Bakugou,” you began, stopping him just before he could walk toward his dorm.
“Yeah?” He turned to look at you, eyebrows raised.
You swallowed, your heart pounding. “I...I really like you. Like, a lot. And not just because of tonight. I’ve…liked you for a while, actually.”
He stared at you, and for a moment, you thought he might brush you off or scoff.
Instead, he smirked, his eyes narrowing just slightly. “Yeah? Thought I was too much of a hothead for you to handle.”
You chuckled, nerves loosening. “Maybe I like the challenge.”
He stepped closer, just enough that you could feel the heat radiating from him. “Well, guess it’s a good thing I don’t mind a bit of a risk, then.”
Before you knew it, he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours, his kiss firm yet surprisingly soft. You felt your breath hitch as your heart leaped, a surge of warmth spreading through you. It was like the perfect ending to an unforgettable night.
When he pulled back, his eyes were a bit softer, a little more vulnerable.
“Guess I like you too,” he muttered, his voice barely a whisper.
And with that, you knew this was just the beginning.
