❝ CAN YOU STOP PUTTING EVERYTHING ON THE TOP SHELVES?! ❞ you finally talk to him after a little argument ( height difference )
with deku, bakugou, rody
IZUKU
he tried to look nonchalant as he responded with a questioning hum. yeah, he was putting stuff on the top shelves. "hmm, what?"
you crossed your arms and glared at him. "you heard me."
he turned to you with the picture of innocence plastered on his face. "i don't know what you mean, i just put things where i put them. it just happens that they're high up."
you raised an accusatory eyebrow.
"for you, anyway." he mumbled, turning back to make his sandwich.
"exactly!" you exclaimed. "for me! you know i can't reach things up there and you do it on purpose!" you found your face was hot as you explained it.
you knew exactly why—you both had gotten into a little fight and you weren't talking to him for a while. this was the first time you had spoken since the argument, and even though you were yelling at him, your voice was music to his ears.
a small smile spread on his face despite his efforts to feign innocence. "on purpose?"
"yes!"
he paused, walking towards you. his disregard for space led to you being crammed against the counter behind you. he leaned over you and asked, "what it is that you need, love?"
your cheeks heated and you cast your gaze to the floor. "the box up there..." you murmured. he stretched to reach it and you flattened your palms against his chest. "izuku! you're squishing me—!"
he chuckled and brought the box down to the counter before kissing your forehead. "i'm glad we're talking again."
BAKUGO
"what was that?" he asked you, a knowing smirk on his face.
you huffed, already on top the counter trying (and failing) to reach the stupid box you needed. "i said stop putting shit on the top shelves. you know i can't reach it."
he shrugged, turning his attention back to his phone. "i dunno what you're talkin' about, princess."
you glared and pointed to the box. "you don't even use it?!"
"aw, don't jump the gun on me now, babe. you know i like to switch things up a lil' bit." he grinned, taking so much joy in your visible frustration. he was just happy you were speaking with him again.
you rolled your eyes, electing to ignore him as you tried your best not to fall off the surface or pull the cabinet down with you.
bakugo eyed you carefully as he threw away the thought of you begging for his help, reluctantly decided your immediate safety was more important. "'kay, that's enough." he walked over, his hands on your hips steadying your wobbly movement. "you'll hurt yourself, y/n. come down."
"i want that stupid box..." you pouted.
he rolled his eyes, his arms now circling around you as he lifted you off the counter. you gasped and curled your legs towards your body, clutching his wrists.
"oh, relax, you know i won't drop ya." he grumbled and set you down next to him. he easily plucked the box from its high perch, handing it to you.
"happy now?" he pinched your cheek. "stubborn brat. could've broken a bone or somethin'."
RODY
"what, having trouble sweetheart?" he snickered.
your face heated and you huffed. "rody... just get it for me, please."
"hmmm..." he pretended he was thinking hard. "i think... no."
you looked at him incredulously. "no? you put it up there!"
"i so did not." he turned up his nose, though pino was smiling and nodding her head.
you narrowed your eyes at him. "you're sabotaging me into breaking your silent treatment."
"whaaaat?" he exaggerated confusion. he held his head and pointed at himself dumbly. "me?"
"you're impossible." you rolled your eyes, moving to climb onto the counter.
"in any case, my plan worked wonderfully," his signature smirk graced his lips as he laughed softly, leaning against the wall to survey your distress.
your fingers just about brushed the side of the box before pino crashed into it, sending it further back and completely out of your reach. you swiveled to glare at the little pink bird. "pino!"
she bashfully twirled in the air before happily fluttering away.
rody's laughter filled your ears and you groaned, resting your head against the shelf. you heard shuffling—when you looked up, rody and his stupid smug smirk was beside you, easily bringing the box down.
"now we both look stupid, yeah?" he pressed a fat kiss on your cheek and softened when you laughed brightly.

Random thoughts with MHA men!
☁︎Lowkey just a heap of stupid ideas I had for different characters I thought were funny/ cute. Might extend on a few of these into longer fics if I find the time :) ☁︎Going back to finishing some requests after this! Sometimes read and can't process what I just read so might take a while to finish them all! Feel free to request but might be a bit slow at the moment, but I'll get through them when I can! ☁︎Not really any warnings other than swearing (Tried to keep it to a minimum but habit when I can't think of a fitting word)! Gn/ unspecified reader :))
╰┈➤ Katsuki Bakugo who follows a strict routine he set for himself to get the most out of the day, in bed by exactly 8:30. Yet he coincidently always happens to be awake when you try to sneak in and cuddle under the covers with him. Gets annoyed at you for "interfering" with his schedule, but he never lets himself fall asleep if he knows your planning to visit, even if at ridiculous hours of the night. ╰┈➤ Shoto Todoroki who lacks certain aspects of understanding when it comes to social cues, specifically the idea of personal space after you start dating. Will stand behind you breathing down your neck just wanting to be near you, not realising how odd it appears to anyone passing by. Similarly, will practically sit ON you instead of beside you, squeezing between you and anyone/anything so he can sit right beside you.
╰┈➤ Izuku Midoriya who often forgets or simply doesn't realise when his habit of rambling starts, sometimes scaring the shit out of you when he suddenly breaks the silence. Will need you to sometimes cover his mouth when out in public before he says something that would accidently make any sane person uncomfortable. Talked about murder out of context at least a few times and got y'all kicked out of somewhere </3
╰┈➤ Tenya Iida who understands the concept of money and it's overall value, but frankly doesn't care when it comes to you. Buys you awfully expensive items that reminds him of you/ thinks you'll like, hiding just how much he actually spent so you don't reject it (you know, you just don't have the heart to tell him.) Will gift you like it's only something small and beat himself up for not getting you something better (It cost more than what you make in 3 months). Prides himself on responsibility but it all falls out the window when about his decisions around you.
╰┈➤ Eijiro Kirishima who shows you off like some sort of deity, constantly praising anything and everything you do. Accidently degrades himself while praising you, saying how he doesn't deserve you (he's literally an angel :(( ). Will do anything for you, if you ask him or not, choosing to show just how much he loves you through his actions not just words. Tells you he loves you at least 5 times a day <3
╰┈➤ Neito Monoma who respects you even if you're in class 1a, never speaking poorly of you even when shitting on your class. Stops whenever you're nearby and starts acting all sweet like he wasn't badmouthing each of your classmates to their faces minutes prior. Another one who worships your every movement and the ground you walk on, but instead of degrading himself puts everyone else but the both of you down. (My favourite little menace)
╰┈➤ Hitoshi Shinsou who without fail whenever you're alone hands you some random ass cat inspired thing that reminded him of you. First it was a small succulent pot, next some really doped out looking cat plushie, then a little keychain of a black cat with a witches hat.. it just kept going. Gets you wondering how he manages to keep finding these objects, and how he always manages to have one when you see each other unplanned (He has a little hidden pocket where he stores the little strange trinkets) ╰┈➤ Rody Soul who sometimes activates his quirk, summoning Pino, at the most random hours of night. Will get woken up by your sudden screams, thinking you had a nightmare only for it to have been Pino scaring the shit out of you by sitting on your chest in the middle of the night and scrutinizing your very being (lovingly). Has been forced as a result to spend the next day begging for forgiveness for Pino's actions (He had a dream of you and she was just admiring you with the same level of affection as him, just hers a bit more creepy..)
╰┈➤ Mirio togata who even after years of practice with his quirk, happens to forget what activating it in normal clothes does. Has tried to phase through the ground to surprise you with his sudden appearance just to end up flashing you, both of you now sitting in embarrassment while your struggling to breathe through your laughter. Apologises before joining you in going along with your everyday life (It will happen again)
╰┈➤ Tamaki Amajiki who uses you as a form of protection, not from physical danger but from people trying to communicate with you both. Will hold your hand in his and stand right against your back, head often against yours or on your shoulder while he lets you talk for him as well as yourself. As soon as you finish, will drag you away to a more secluded area and embrace you with more confidence as a way of showing his appreciation for never complaining about his shying away from socialising.
╰┈➤ Giulio Gandini who chooses to not wear his eyepatch when you're both alone, trusting you in his most vulnerable form. Who is able to use his robotic eye as a camera, recording your interactions to preserve the memory. Often pulls up these moments on the screen of his prosthetic arm when you're apart, watching through them when he misses you. Moves certain ones to a USB and prints out photos to give you (some in lockets, some just as a copy to frame) leaving you confused on how he managed to get them. (I love him so much :(( lowkey the main reason I liked the 4th movie sm)
╰┈➤ Touya Todoroki/ Dabi who will only let you help when it comes to dyeing his hair (aka forces you when the black is washing out to help fix it up). Will sit on a random chair he dragged in or the edge of the bathtub while you touch up his roots, probably moves constantly unless you hold his head in place. Gets you to join him in the shower to help wash through it, being a little shit about it and smudging the dye on you so it'll stain.
╰┈➤ Tomura Shigaraki who refuses to touch you with all 5 of his fingers, even after he's confident in his abilities to control his quirk. Will always have a finger lifted from your body while he holds you in his embrace, wearing artist gloves when sleeping beside you just to be safe. Holds your hand constantly when alone like the touch starved person he is but never has a proper grasp, loosely intertwining your fingers while he leaves his pinkie away from your hand.
╰┈➤ Shota Aizawa who similar to his son has a habit of handing you random stuff when he returns home, though his are more concerning. If you had a nickel for every time he came home to hand you a kitten he found in an alley, you would have two but it was very strange it happened twice. Came home after his long shift one night and handed you a cat like it was just another causal Wednesday. So anyways you guys have 2 cats now :))
╰┈➤ Keigo Takami who likes to use his feathers to tickle you at the least expected times, often resulting in a fresh bruise the next day. Will each and every time forget you like to swing when his feathers are tickling at your sides, with your first or leg accidently colliding with some part of his body. One time was his face, another his calf, or the time you accidently hit him where the sun don't shine. He learnt to move back after that one..

rody and you thought you'd have a bit more time for yourself, until his siblings would get home from school
rody didn't want to tell them he was dating you just yet, as he wanted them to properly get to know you as his ‘friend’ before revealing that he was dating you
yet here you were now, kissing on the couch of his apartment, as his siblings stormed in!
quickly, rody and you pulled away from each other, hoping they hadn't seen anything!
“y-you're home early today–!” rody mumbled quietly, before putting a hand on your shoulder. “y/n, those are roro and lala! lala, roro, this is my… uhm, this is y/n!”
there was a moment of silence in which his siblings just stared at you, before his sister spoke up
“are you two dating–!?” she asked excitedly, her eyes brimming with excitement as she smiled
rody and you exchanged a quick glance, before you smiled amused and nodded
seems like the cat was out of the bag now. but his siblings seemed rather excited to meet you, so the two of you had nothing to worry about afterall…

Rody Soul: Crush
Fandom: BNHA // MHA — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: ~1.4k, fluff
• You knew Rody well enough to know he doesn't just disappear, but until he returns someone's gotta look out for his siblings.
Warnings: World Heroes Mission spoilers
>>>>——————————>
Tumblr media
There was a reason besides job hunting that Rody frequented Stanleyk's Bar so often, and that reason was a part time bartender who surely had to be in today.
However, once more he was disappointed with your absence and apparently he hadn't hidden it well this time regardless of Pino.
"Your little crush is off working."
"I— I didn't even ask. Besides, I thought (Y/n) worked here."
"Only part time kid. (L/n) takes on jobs just like you." Both he and Pino fell into awed silence, they heard you lived in one of the nicer residences in Shanty Town with little threat due to your renowned fighting ability, but to know you were contracted too? Wow, no doubt higher ranked than him considering you were away for longer periods.
"Bonjour! I'm back~" Gladly you entered, greeted by a soft pelt nuzzling into your neck, cooing affectionately despite Rodys' chiding outburst.
"Oh hello Pino, aren't you beautiful today."
"Congratulations, the contact was very pleased with your work and have requested your services at a later date." Stanleyk bluntly interjected, usually he received only positive feedback on any job associated with you.
"You get requested?!"
"Yeah, more elite clientele tend to stick with trusted confederates. It's just how they work, casual clients don't mind who they get as long as they suit the requirements." Came your experience-infused reply to Rody, reaching into your bag with renewed brightness. "Here, souvenirs for your siblings."
Rody had only introduced you to them once over the years and he hated that you were so thoughtful. It was hard not to develop a stupid crush on you even if he'd deny it to his last breath. Luckily you both had a withholding deal that prevented the disclosure of quirks. It annoyed him that yours was a secret but it was a worthwhile sacrifice when he realised he was attracted to you early on - and Pino had no shame in expressing that. You'd connect the dots way too fast for his liking.
That was your last interaction and you'd never gone so long without an encounter together before this - so knowing his address, and noting his delayed return, you knew something was awry.
When you'd brought up the matter to Stanleyk, he'd relayed a call he'd received and immediately you'd raced over to Rodys' home. Roro and Lala were cautious when you'd knocked but recognised you upon mention of their eldest brother and were glad for the company.
Days passed and you'd opted for short-term jobs which allowed time to cook for them, play with them, and tell any bedtime stories you could conjure all whilst dozing on their corner seating area once the pair fell asleep. Although, with the impending bomb detonations and inevitable death that followed, your babysitting gig got harder.
Soon enough, you found out Rody was in the hospital after apparently putting an end to said calamity.
When you'd taken the worried Soul duo to visit him, you found Pino flapping about Rodys' siblings with vibrant joy whilst they hugged their bandaged brother. You assumed the other patients were the heroes he'd fought alongside, the green haired one being the most gracious toward your presence. It was then Pino awkwardly fluttered around you, unsure of what to do with herself and blushing fiercely meanwhile Rody offered a charismatic smile.
"Hey (Y/n), thanks for looking after my family whilst I was away, Stanleyk told me you took quicker jobs to check on them."
Before you could respond, Roro and Lala excitedly chimed your praises.
"Yeah (Y/n) cooks way nicer food than you!"
"And tells the coolest bedtime stories!"
"You— you did all that?"
"Eh you know, I have to balance certain aspects of my life with good deeds." Immediately the little pink bird was in your arms embracing what she could - to which Rody rapidly pulled her away with an embarrassed mumble.
Once visiting time was over, you all bid him farewell, leaving Rody with a knowing Midoriya.
"Does (Y/n) know about your quirk?"
"Nope, we have a deal."
"I see... which means they don't know how you feel—"
"Not another word! I don't have the confidence to tell them alright, you've just seen how beautiful and amazing they are..." It was a friendly exchange, and though chuckling Izuku gave his support.
"I think you should be honest about your feelings, after all you just saved many lives worldwide Rody. This shouldn't scare you."
Meanwhile outside the hospital room, you were experiencing the same revelation in a different form.
"That's why you came to check on us, because you're big brothers' partner?" Roro hummed in thought, Lala way too giddy with the information even if you were thoroughly confused.
"Where did you get that idea?"
"Rody is in love with you." Roro cemented, shocked you were apparently unaware.
"I don't think—"
"Yeah just look at Pino. She's always nuzzling and admiring you." There must be some miscommunication here.
"What's that got to do with Rody? If anyone loves me then surely it's Pino." You happily laughed, assuming this was just a child's' fantasy and thought you were playing along with it.
Their puzzled expressions had you second guessing though, then came their matter-of-fact enlightenment.
"Pino is Rodys' quirk. You know that right?"
No you did not, you thought she was a pet.
"She expresses exactly what Rody is feeling, making it impossible for him to lie!"
It suddenly all connected, why he came to visit on your shift days and how affectionate Pino had grown to be with you - warmly greeting you every time she saw you, fretting over any injury, tackling you, and flustering whenever you touched Rody. That was how he truly wished to communicate with you?
"Hey, I just need a minute, wait here." Obviously the pair did so with gleeful grins upon their faces as you dashed back into the room. The heroes seemed perplexed, especially when you pulled the curtain around Rodys' bed stating you wanted to see his injuries without children around.
He was equally as confounded, and this time you didn't miss the flourishing Pino despite the contrasting coolness her owner exhibited. You sat on his bed, staring him dead in the eye before you broke his very soul with your whispered question.
"Rody, are you in love with me?"
There was a flush of colour on his cheeks, but without another second to think he smirked casually and leaned closer to you.
"If you've fallen for me (Y/n), it's okay to confess, I won't judge."
Pino however, crash-landed in embarrassment with a white feather of submission waving above her demonstrating the answer you'd desired.
"I see, thanks Pino."
"Wait— you know, crap who told you?" The charade was up and the pure horror finally set in.
"Yeah, Pino shows your true emotions right? So what happens if I do this?"
You matched his previous false confidence, leaning closer with only centimetres between you that allowed you to feel his warm breath brush your lips. He didn't retract though, and so you closed the gap, Rody more than willing to kiss back when gentle fingers reached up to your jaw and a melodic chirping emitted from Pino as she soared though the air right over the curtain and around the room as if she was set aglow.
You pulled away slightly, amused by the display even if your opposite was heavily embarrassed - still, you moved in to kiss him again leaving Pino to enjoy the moment.
"Would ya get that damn bird to shut up already?!" It was the voice of the explosive blonde which fractured the fantasy, excusing yourself once opening the curtain with plausible cover.
"I'll stock some bandages for the wounds ready for when you get back. See you!"
———
Life seemed to resume to normal with both of you giving up the shady lifestyle, whilst you quit your position at Stanleyk's Bar to pursue your true passions, Rody in turn ended up getting employed there.
You spent nights over with the Soul family, even if it meant sleeping on the corner couch, Rody always ensured to cook you breakfast. He listened to your bedtime stories with a dreamy look on his face, and when his siblings fell asleep came to join you prior to heading to bed himself.
You'd gifted him pilot books, and you became a feature drawing upon their wall, all the while both of you saved to improve life for the better.
"Hey, if you need a flight attendant oh future pilot captain, may I apply early?"
Just then, Pino held a wing over her heart and promptly fainted whilst Rody ran a hand through his hair.
"Actually, I'd rather you be my copilot so we could always fly together..."
“Is that your idea of a proposal Rody?”
“Wha— not yet! I haven’t saved enough to buy you a—“
“I meant a job proposal, what were you thinking?” Your witty tone left him slumping begrudgingly in his chair and briskly swiping Pino before you could see the classic engagement proposal position she’d admiringly taken.
“Ah, of buying you a pilot manual too if you want to fly with me. That’s all.”

The Little Pink Bird
Tumblr media
Word Count: 6787
Paring: Rody soul x gn! Reader
Warnings: Talk of blood, canon typical violence
Summary: When Quirks first appeared so did Soulmates, being able to find your soulmate with the help of a tattoo that appears when they receive their quirk. Y/n spent their life with a little pink bird on their shoulder. What happens when they meet said little pink bird in another country?
A/n: Hello, welcome. First off I love Rody and he deserves so much more love than he gets. Second I’m addicted to soulmate au’s, probably because I’m a hopeless romantic but anyway I thought this Idea was cute so I went with it. Anyway enjoy and as always remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Back before Quirks appeared everyone went about daily life wondering what it would be like if they could meet their perfect match. Always hoping that the one that they settled down with was their one true partner. Unfortunately for those who lived before quirks it was impossible to know for sure. But that all changed when quirks started appearing.
As quirks became more prominent and widespread, people also began to notice that mysterious tattoo’s would appear on a random part of their body. At first it was thought to just be a side effect of quirks, but after people began reporting that when they met someone who’s quirk reassembled the tattoo, they would feel like they found their missing piece. The idea that these marks changed the way people looked for their partner, searching out the one who matched their tattoo.
Over time it was figured out that the marks appeared when one’s soulmate got their quirk. And so not only were kids excited to finally figure out their own quirks but to decipher their soulmate’s quirk and try to find them as soon as possible. It was easier for some, then it was for others. For example someone who’s soulmate had a mutant type quirk would have a picture that looked like the mutation, or if the quirk was fire they’d have a flame. Of course this left people with quirkless soulmates at a disadvantage because they would have to wait for their soulmate to find them instead of searching for the matching quirk. Now that you understand how soulmates work in this lovely world, it’s time to actually get into our story.
I, like most children, was extremely excited to get my quirk and find out what my soulmate's powers were. When I was five I became the first out of the two of us to get a quirk. My quirk allowed me to manipulate plants and use them in a variety of different ways. I can use them to heal, as well as use them for a few defensive attacks. The only drawback of my quirk is that I have to have access to plants for it to work. So I tend to carry different plant seeds, it doesn't matter what the plant is, I can make it heal or strong enough to attack.
Anyways, after developing my quirk, I waited impatiently for my soulmate to get theirs so I could finally find them. Sure I was young but many parents will go to the quirk registry to find their child’s soulmate and in hopes of introducing them young so they don’t have to wait long to find them. So when the little pink and purple bird appeared on my shoulder, my parents raced to see if they could find out who my soulmate was. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the person whose quirk was symbolized by a little pink bird, most likely did not live in Japan and if they did they weren’t registered. So, my hope for finding my soulmate early was crushed and I was destined to find them when the world decided it was the right time.
I suppose having to wait to find my soulmate was a blessing in disguise because while many people my age were spending time planning their life around what both them and their soulmate wanted to do, I was free to plan what I wanted to do. Sure my soulmate was a factor in my choices but for the most part I was free to follow my dreams. So when the time came for the U.A. entrance exams I participated.  With my versatile quirk I managed to score a place in Class A.
Being part of the top hero class at the top hero school was sure to give me amazing opportunities. When work studies came around many different Prohero’s sent offers. As much as I wanted to pick a hero who’s quirk and fighting style matched my own, I decided that having a chance to learn from the No.1 Pro didn’t happen often. So I accepted the offer to do my work study at Endeavor’s agency along with three of my other classmates. And only time would tell how smart of a choice that was on my part.
After only a few weeks of our work studies, Endeavor was called for a mission that was crucial for the greater good of society. Being his trainees, Bakugo, Deku, Shoto and I were dragged along for the mission as well. We were sent to stop an organization known as Humarise from executing their plan to destroy quirks. When we first arrived at the Humarise base in the country of Otheon, the trigger bomb was nowhere to be found. After relaying this information to headquarters, we were informed that none of the bases had the bombs we were sent to disarm. In Spite of the failed mission we were instructed to stay in the country and wait for further information, as we couldn’t just give up and let these maniacs kill millions of people for no reason.
While waiting for information, us rookies were sent out to run errands. I was trailing behind Bakugo as he complained to Shoto and Deku about being an errand boy. While zoning out from their conversation I noticed a commotion happening in a store as we walked by. “Hey guys.” I said, trying to get their attention.
“WHAT DO YOU WANT?” Bakugo shouted as he wiped around to look at me. Being used to the blonde's explosive attitude; I just pointed to the door of the store where a villain busted out flying past us holding a case of what we could only assume to be stolen jewels.
Registering what was happening my three companions launched into action. I followed them knowing that chases weren’t my strong suit, deciding to hang back slightly and help if anyone got hurt. I watched as Shoto and Deku raced down an alley after one of the guys, deciding they had that covered, I helped Bakugo take care of the thief he was chasing.
After dealing with the thief, we meet back up with Shoto learning that Deku had gone after a third culprit who apparently was waiting in the alley. We all made our way back to the hotel where we were staying.
“Idiots! We're right in the middle of an important mission. You should leave the petty criminals for the local authorities to take care of!” The three of us were now being yelled at by a very furious Endeavor.
“I thought heroes were supposed to assist those in trouble.” Shoto argued back at his father.
Bakugo, who was leaning against the wall nearby, decided to also talk back to the flaming man. “You're the one who's supposed to be teaching us. Maybe you shoulda explained how to ignore crimes.” He said with a smirk. I had to fight back a laugh at that, he had a valid argument.
I just watched as Endeavor’s anger started to bubble over. “That's not what I said! And Deku? Where'd he run off to?” He asked, realizing the fourth member of his trainees was nowhere to be seen.
Sighing, I joined the conversation. “According to Shoto, He's following someone who was
working with the jewel thieves. I’ve been trying to call but he's not picking up his phone right now.” I explained waving my phone.
Hearing that Endeavor’s flames shot up once again. “You slackers! I shouldn't have brought you with me even if you are doing your work studies!” He exclaimed, before he could continue ranting about how we should have stayed in Japan, Shoto’s phone started ringing.
“It's him.” He informed us as he answered the phone. “ Midoriya, hey. Do you have the suspect?” He asked, pausing to let Deku speak. “What?” The question confused all of us. It sounded like Deku was panicking from the noise barely reaching me from Shoto’s phone. “Calm down! Tell me everything that happened. Start from the beginning.” He told the panicking boy.
There was a moment of silence while we waited for Deku to explain what happened to Shoto. The silence was broken as Clair, one of the heroes we were teamed up with, opened a door to an office nearby. “Endeavor. Emergency.” We all turned, waiting for her to elaborate. “It’s about Deku.” Hearing the boy’s name we all moved to find out what was going on.
Upon reaching the conference room we all watched as the news anchor on the tv spoke next to a picture of Deku. “Once again, according to recent police reports, the suspect, who is thought to have killed twelve people, is at large and considered by authorities to be highly dangerous. He's a Japanese hero. Uh, called Deku. Real name, Izuku Midoriya. The entire nation is on the lookout. There are also reports that he has an accomplice…” The anchor went on to further explain as we all stood shocked and looked at Shoto as he raised his phone to his ear.
“Midoriya. What did you really do out there?” Shoto asked, hoping for a clear answer as to what the hell we just saw on the news. “The news. They're saying you're wanted as a suspect for mass murder.” Shoto went on to explain after Deku presumably responded confused to the first question. There was a pause as Deku responded. “We'll look into it on our end. You stay off the grid for now. They'll track you with GPS. Once you turn off your phone, don't forget to take out the battery.” Shoto told Deku before hanging up the phone.
We all looked at each other stunned, “What the hell is going on? Deku would never kill anyone.” I was amazed by the strange turn of events. Bakugo, Shoto and I all looked at each other trying to figure out how to help our friend.
“You three stay here, I’m going to speak with the police.” Endeavor said, looking at us pointedly. There was a grumble for Bakugo but we all nodded understanding that clearly something major was happening and we needed to stay put.
While we waited for Endeavor to return with any news on why Deku is a suspect, I decided it was a great time to lay down on one of the couches in the office. While I tried to recharge some energy, Shoto was busy doing something on his laptop and Bakugo had stormed off to do who knows what. After around thirty minutes of sitting around Clair came in to talk to Shoto.
“Shoto! I just got this report back from a detective friend of mine.” She started, and I was then reminded of the car accident that happened while we were chasing the jewel thieves earlier in the day. “It appears the car you saw was attacked by a Quirk. The strange thing is, the driver was a member of Humarise.” Clair explained, catching my attention.
“Wait, Humarise?” I asked, getting up from the couch to join the conversation.
Shoto looked at me equally surprised by the turn of events. “Well, did he survive the accident?” Shoto asked, hoping we would have a lead of some kind.
Clair sighed before responding. “He's comatose, in critical condition. Police are standing watch outside his room in the ICU.” She explained.
“So we can't interrogate him yet.” Shoto reasoned.
“And there's one other thing, too. It looks like the stolen jewelry was left scattered nearby the scene.” Clair added on to the discoveries that came to light.
I couldn’t hide my confusion as I tried to figure out what happened. “Huh? But why?” I asked, but before anyone could answer Shoto’s phone chimed.
“It's a message from Midoriya.” He explained as Clair and I leaned closer to see what the message said.
“What does it say?” Clair asked, unable to make out the message from where she was standing.
“Keep eating lunch with strawberries and make sure you eat the dinner in the fridge, too." Shoto read off the message in a confused tone. “Why is he telling me what to eat? This is odd.” He looked over at me.
Taking another look at the message I realized what it was. “This must be some kind of code. See the first letters of each line spell out K-L-A-Y-D.” I explained.
Shoto looked at me before looking at the message again. “Clever.”
Clair gasped. “What does this mean? Did he flee to the neighboring country of Klayd?” She asked, looking at the two of us.
“If not yet, he must be heading there.” Shoto answered, putting his phone in his pocket.
I nodded following him out of the room, turning back to inform Clair. “Which means, We’re going to. Please tell Endeavor.” I said as I followed Shoto out. Clair just offered a nod in agreement.
As the two of us began to leave, we ran into Bakugo. “Bakugo, come with me.” Shoto informed him while grabbing his arm and pulling him along.
“Get your hands off me!” Bakugo snapped. As we exited the building he spoke again. “It's about Deku, huh?” He asked.
Noticing the cops trying to hide that they’re watching us. “We’ll explain later, but first we should lose the cops.” I explained earning a nod from Shoto and Bakugo. After finally losing the police, we made our way to the train station getting tickets to Klayd. Once on the train Shoto explained to Bakugo what we had found out and where we were going. With all of us on board with the plan we decided to rest on the train while we had the chance.
Time skip to meeting up with Deku and Rody at the train station.
The train had stopped close to the border to pick up new passengers. While waiting for the train to continue moving the three of us noticed what looked to be fighting on a cliff side. We were going to ignore it until Shoto spoke up. “It’s Midoriya. We need to go.” Looking back at the chaos I also noticed the black tindalls attaching to the helicopter where the majority of the attacks were coming from. Recognising them the three of us grabbed our gear and headed to aid in the fight.
While Bakugo and Shoto focused on attacking the villains, I moved to check on the young man who I assumed to have been traveling with Deku. After helping him off of Shoto’s ice, I led him to cover behind a rock so we weren’t in the crossfire of the fight. “Are you okay? Did you get hurt anywhere?” I asked as I quickly looked him over for any noticeable injuries.
“Uh, no I’m good.” He responded while scratching the back of his head.
I nodded in response before turning to make sure my friends were doing ok fighting. After watching the Helicopter crash, Deku ran over. “Rody, are you all right?” He asked the guy sitting across from me.
Registering he was spoken to, he turned to the green haired hero. “Yeah, but I'm not sure how. Where is it?“ The brunette asked, looking around frantically.
As if on queue Shoto approached holding a beat up briefcase. “Midoriya. I grabbed this.” He announced, earring a sigh of relief from the boy.
“Thanks, Todoroki. But how did you find us?” Deku asked as he looked around at the three of us.
“All thanks to their flashy attacks. Shoto spotted you from the train.” I explained.
Shoto nodded, before looking at the new member of our group. “Is he the one you were talking about on the phone?” He asked.
Deku nodded. “Yeah, that's right. He's been pegged as a criminal, like me. His name is Rody Soul.” He introduced his new companion.
“Hey, thanks for the assist.” Rody said, looking at Shoto. After he finished his sentence my attention was drawn to the familiar pink bird that jumped from his hair onto his shoulder. Seeing the bird I was immediately reminded of the matching mark on my Shoulder. Of course my moment of surprise caused me to zone out from the conversation currently happening around me.
I tuned back in, when I heard Shoto mention something about useful intelligence, followed by Midoya gasping and grabbing the case. “What’s the matter Deku?” I asked, looking at him confused.
“A compartment.” He stated, looking at the bottom of the case. After we all saw what he was talking about, he moved to open it to see what was inside. The only thing that came out was what looked like a puzzle. “What is this? How does it work?” He asked as he began turning the pieces.
This went on for a few minutes of Deku trying to solve the puzzle while Shoto and Bakugo offer not so useful tips. I on the other hand kept glancing at Rody, curious if my assumption about the little pink bird was correct. While watching the brunette I noticed him getting impatient as the young heroes failed to solve the puzzle. “Hey Rody, are you sure you’re okay?” I asked, noticing his impatience.
“Uh yeah.” He answered before looking back at Deku. “Deku, can I see that for a second?” He asked, reaching for the puzzle.
Deku looked confused but nodded. “You know how to solve it?” Shoto asked as Rody sat on the ground.
“I did a puzzle like this before when I was a kid.” He explained as he began working on it. “Let's see. Like this. And this. Aw, yeah. I think I got it.” He announced as the puzzle popped open revealing an sd card and an odd purple and black piece of what I assumed to be plastic.
After it became clear that none of us knew what the unidentified object was we turned our attention to the sd card. “We need to figure out what's stored on this card.” Shoto said holding it up.
I quickly pulled out my phone checking for anywhere nearby where we could see what it was. “Okay, there's a town at the foot of the mountain. We can investigate there.” I announced, earring a nod of agreement from the group. We all gathered our things and began the trek to the town.
As we were walking I noticed Deku, wince as he accidently Bumped his shoulder into a wall. “Hey are you okay Deku? Do you need me to take a look at your shoulder?” I was concerned.
Deku being well Deku tried to brush it off as nothing but turns out our newest companion is a snitch. “Actually Deku was shot with an arrow.” Rody announced earning a look of betrayal from the hero.
“You were shot? And didn’t think it was a good idea to tell someone? Especially the one person around who can heal you.” I said, looking at him like he was stupid. “As soon as we get somewhere to look at that card you’re letting me take care of it.” He just nodded slowly, and before he could argue I moved to walk ahead of the group.
Skip to looking at the contents of the card
We had found the small town and asked to use a computer at a hotel there. Once inside Deku plugged the card into the computer loading it up. The screen was quickly covered in various folders. “So many folders. Where do we even start?” He questioned aloud.
Bakugo pushed Deku out of the way and began looking through the folders. “Hey Deku, while Bakugo deals with that, come sit down and let me take care of that wound.” I said motioning to the chair I was standing next to.
I watched as he sighed before moving to sit down, taking off his shirt so I could have access to the injury. “But Y/n we’re inside, are you sure you can heal it without any plants around?” He asked.
“Did you hit your head? You know I carry seeds around for when you idiots get hurt now sit still.” I said while pulling a few seeds from my pocket holding them close to Deku’s shoulder while activating my quirk. The seeds quickly began to grow wrapping around his shoulder before they began glowing a light bluish green color. After only a few minutes the wound was completely healed with no sign it had ever been there. With Deku taken care of I turned my attention back to the computer, missing the look of realization that flashed across Rody’s face.
“I found it. It’s this video file.” Bakugo announced opening a file.
The screen changed to show a man with an eye patch who then began talking. “Hello. My name is Alan Kay. Along with several other scientists, I was kidnapped by Humarise.” He explained earning shocked gasps from the five of us. He went on to explain how Humarise forced the scientists to build the trigger bombs and how the first attack was just a trap to lewer out the heroes. He spoke of how the plan was to then detonate the rest after having all of the top heroes gathered and in turn decimate the hero population.
After explaining the villain’s plan, he included that the unknown item that was in the case was a key to disarm the bombs from within the Humarise base. Shortly after the video ended, the other occupants of the hotel ran out screaming. Our attention was quickly drawn to the Tv where a news anchor was reporting that in less than two hours the trigger bombs were going to explode. A map of all the locations showed up on the screen.
Seeing the map Rody immediately reacted. “No, it can't be. That circle's in Otheon! My house is inside of it!” Hearing the distress in his voice, my body moved on its own to try and calm him by placing a hand on his shoulder.
Also realizing what that meant Deku responded. “Oh, no.” The five of us were now on the verge of panicking.
“We should send this to HQ and have them order the hero teams to retreat before it's too late.” Shoto said moving to the computer, planning to send the file.
Before he could finish, Bakugo cut in. “We can't do that.” His statement pulled Shoto’s and Deku’s attention to him.
“The heroes are out there looking for the Trigger Bombs. Even if they're the actual targets of the terrorist attack. Even if they know this is a trap. As long as there are people who need help, the pros will never leave them and run away. That's what makes them heroes. Humarise counted on this when they came up with their plan.” Deku stated.
We all paused and nodded in agreement. There was no way the heroes would run and leave innocent people to die just because they were the targets all along. “Then we use that disarming key. It's up to us to stop those bombs.” Shoto said, we all turned to look at him surprised.
“But how do we do that?” I asked. “We don’t even know where their main hideout is.” I agreed that we needed to stop the bombs, but that's easier said than done.
Bakugo moved quickly before he started opening files on the computer. “On it! The answer has to be in here somewhere. You're an idiot if you make a key without telling people where the lock is! We look for the place that wasn't part of their announcement. This is where their base is!” He announced as he layered the map of the announced bomb locations with the map of the Humarise bases in the computer. Marked clearly was the one base that didn’t have a bomb over it.
“Kacchan, Can you find where the bomb controls are?” Deku asked as Bakugo started clicking through more folders.
“Let me work, ya damn nerd!” He shouted as he looked for the controls, eventually pulling up the base’s floor plan.
Deku looked over the image. “The furthest area underground.” He said, trying to think of how to get there.
As if voicing everyone’s thoughts, Shoto spoke up. “So we know where it is, but it's
more than 400 kilometers away from where we are.” Hearing that the small amount of hope that we could actually pull this off started to crumble.
“We can make it.” Rody announced drawing our attention to the other computer in the room. “I think I know how to get us there.” He said while pointing at a map of what looked to be an airport nearby.
Having no other ideas on how to reach the base, we made our way to the airport and acquired a plane. Once on board the plane, we quickly changed into our hero gear preparing for what would potentially be a very dangerous fight.
As the base came into view, Bakugo, Shoto, Deku and I began to get ready to jump from the plane. “That's it! The base! Going in for a landing. Brace yourselves.” Rody informed as he flew the plane closer.
Thinking for a moment I spoke up. “No, Rody you should turn back, it’s not going to be easy.” I explained hoping he would understand.
“Extras like you should stay out of the way.” Bakugo exclaimed as Shoto opened the door for us to jump. Shoto made a comment of agreement. After Deku allowed me to hold on to his back, as I’m the only one who can’t move through the air with my quirk, we jumped from the plane. As we got closer to the ground, members of Humarise began firing on us. “I don't have time for you idiots!” Bakugo shouted as he began returning fire.
Once on the ground, we used our quirks to break through the lines of resistance. Making our way into the base. “Bakugo, we'll leave these guys to you!” I shouted as I trapped a few people in vines from the rock formation.
After leaving Bakugo to deal with the group out front the rest of us moved into the hideout and began the trek to the controls.  We were making great time using Shoto’s ice to glide down the halls, that was until lasers fired and broke up the ice block sending us tumbling to the floor. After disarming the laser with his flames, Shoto ordered us to continue on while he held off the approaching members of Humarise.
Nodding Deku and I began racing down the halls as fast as we could manage. We faced a few opponents as we made our way through, easily taking them down with either Deku’s Air force or me throwing seeds that sprouted into entangling vines trapping the attackers. Eventually we reached a large room that appeared to be some kind of library with a golden statue of a baby in the center. “This is the deepest room in the base which means the trigger bomb control system should be on the other side of those doors.” Deku explained.
I responded with a simple nod before we moved towards the door. Before we could get close a laser fired at Deku’s feet causing both of us to jump back in surprise. “How dare you? This is not a place where someone so diseased should set foot.” We watched as a blue man wearing robes approached looking pissed that we dared enter the room. “You have entered a holy stronghold that will bring about the salvation of humanity.” He continued to speak.
“You think this is what the world needs? The Quirk Doomsday Theory hasn't been scientifically verified!” I shouted as metal barriers began to rise around the room.
Deku looked around in confusion before joining in my questioning of the man. “You're basing your crimes on nothing but a rumor! How can you accept something so uncertain and use it to justify doing such terrible things?” He yelled as Flect descended the staircase to be level with the two of us.
“Pure humans are being threatened by the sickness of Quirks. Of that there is no doubt. As time passes these powers will mix, evolve, and run rampant, driving humanity to destruction.” Flect preached as he looked at us in disgust.
Deku immediately went on the offensive. “You don't know that for certain! Whether you have a Quirk or not doesn't matter. We're all alive. We're all human beings!” He yelled trying to convince the villain across from us.
Flect just sighed. “The gravely afflicted are beyond our help. I suppose I shall have to force you to atone.” He said as if it was fact and like he had any chance at beating the two of us.
“I'll stop your Trigger bomb if it's the last thing I do!” Deku announced as he launched his first attack on the man. I watched in amazement as Deku was sent flying backwards smashing through the metal wall behind him, and Flect was left with no sign the atack hit except for the robe was wearing being blown off.
As I helped Deku out of the shelves, Flect approached. In hopes of stopping him I flung more seeds that I had used my quirk on hoping to trap him in his place, only for the seeds to be flung elsewhere leaving the vines to just cover the floor. “That's right. I was born with this cursed plague myself. A disease that can't be cured. I automatically reflect all I come in contact with.” Flect explained seeing the bewildered looks on our faces.
Deku looked around for a moment before moving to attack from multiple angles. “So even though you have an ability of your own, you still think they're somehow evil?” He asked blasting bolts of air.
“You would question me? Quirks are a tragedy. Because of this ailment, I was never once held by my parents, never knew a caring touch.” Flect limentied as Deku’s attacks were sent back at him. “Even my closest friends, and those I gave my heart to left me, their feelings repelled. I watched them all leave me, one by one. Since I reflect everything, I couldn't even choose death for myself. A Quirk that cannot be controlled leads to a life of suffering. But I can save others from this misery. These meta powers will trample no more hearts.”
I tried my hardest to think of a plan. The only plan I could think of was taking the key and running while Deku tried to distract Flect. I moved quickly trying to get close enough to Deku to tell him of my plan only for the lasers around the room to fire directly at Flect. He used his reflection to his advantage causing the lasers to reflect and scatter a few of them hitting Deku.
I would like to say I was lucky enough to avoid them but unfortunately I was not fast enough. One laser hit me in the thigh and another hit me right in the chest, just narrowly avoiding my heart and instead rupturing a lung. As I collapsed to the ground I used the little strength I had before blacking out to sprout a healing seed near my chest to hopefully heal the hole in my lung before I bleed out or drown in my own blood. The last thing I remember before completely blacking out was the sound of Deku’s screams as more lasers pierced his body.
To my surprise I awoke only a few minutes later. Realizing I was awake and could still move I quickly looked around the room. The first thing I noticed was the unconscious form of Flect laying in the middle of the room. The second thing I noticed was the large amount of blood leading to the doors to the control room. Standing up I rushed to find Deku and offer help in whatever way I could.
As I got closer I could hear what I could only assume to be pained laughter from two people. Reaching the room I saw Deku sitting on his knees laughing with Rody laying across his lap. I rushed forward as best as my still injured leg could carry me meeting the two. “Oh my god, What happened to you? And Rody, why are you here, I thought you turned back?” I asked, taking in the large wounds on both boys who stopped laughing when they realized I was there.
“Uh long story, tell you about it later?” Rody said with a slight shrug, wincing at the movement.
I shook my head, looking to Deku for answers hoping he would tell me what I missed while unconscious. Unfortunately Deku just shrugged, choosing to also postpone answering. “Fine you’re lucky you’re my soulmate or I would make you tell me before helping with that wound.” I started ignoring Deku’s look of shock, instead choosing to grab the few seeds I had left to at least close the boys’ bleeding wounds. Rody was also left speechless as I finished healing the wound as much as I could given my own fading strength. “It’s not perfect but now you won’t bleed to death while we wait to be rescued.” I said, smiling at the boy.
It took him a second to register what was said but after I pulled the plants away from the two Rody sat up. “Wait, ouch, How did you know that we’re soulmates? You don’t know what my quirk is.” He said shocked, the little pink bird from before sitting on his shoulder also looking stunned.
I smiled looking at the little bird. “It’s hard to forget such an adorable bird that’s been on my shoulder since I was little.” I explained reaching out to the bird. Accepting the explanation the small bird leaned into hand.
Rody still had a slightly confused look on his face but I could see the joy in his eyes. “Yeah, that makes sense, also that is Pino.” He said introducing the bird. I chuckled as Pino began chirping happily. “Her actions show how I’m really feeling.” He explained to me as I let Pino sit in my hand.
“Well then I’m glad to know you’re happy.” I said, smiling at him. “But you should really lay back down, I couldn’t fully heal your wounds, it’s just enough to keep you alive while we wait for Heroes to come rescue us.” I explained nudging him lay back. “You to Deku, I can’t heal anymore until I get healed so you should conserve your energy.” After telling them both to relax I also leaned back on to the floor. While I may have sealed our wounds enough to not die, they were nowhere near fully closed so we all need to take it easy until we could be saved.
   To the hospital.
After laying in the Humarise base for what felt like hours, some pros finally showed up and brought us to a hospital in Otheon. While we were there they flew out Recovery Girl to help speed up the healing process so we could return to Japan. Recovery Girl had first healed me and asked me to assist in healing the others so it would go by quicker. I agreed and joined her in checking on the boys.
While she was focused on healing Bakugo, I turned my attention to my soulmate. “Hey Rody, want a little more help with those injuries?” I asked moving to sit next to his bed. He just nodded and watched as I placed a few seeds on the bed next to him before activating my quirk. The seeds sprouted and vines laid across him before glowing softly.
While I was focused on healing him, I failed to notice the door behind me opening, until two small children ran into the room.  Turning to the sound of excited children, I was greeted by a young boy and a young girl who looked very similar to Rody. “Roro, Lala, I’m so happy you guys are here.” Rody exclaimed, sitting up. Deciding his healing could wait for now, I turned off my quirk to allow the children to climb up on his bed. “How have you guys been?” He asked them.
I just watched and listened as he spoke with them not wanting to interrupt the happy reunion. “Oh I almost forgot. Roro, Lala, this is Y/n they helped save my life and they’re my soulmate.” Rody introduced me looking at me with a bright smile. “Y/n, this is my little brother Roro, and my sister Lala.” I quickly greeted them. Soon I was subject to the children’s never ending questions, and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  To the Airport
As much as I’d like to say that I was able to stay for a while and enjoy getting to know my new found soulmate and his family, I sadly can not. Once we were all cleared by the hospital to fly home, we were all at the airport ready to depart. As we approached the escalator to head towards our flight I heard a familiar chirp from behind me.
Before I could even turn around I heard Deku confirm my suspicion. “Rody” He called out, as I turned and looked at the limping burnett. He just chuckled in response before getting closer. “Didn't think you'd be out so soon! Heh.” Deku observed.
I nodded in agreement. “Ah, they said I was good to head back home.” Rody answered the indirect question. Pino chirped in agreement before flying over to rest on my shoulder.
“I’m glad to hear it, though I wish I could have healed your leg a bit more.” I said, patting the small bird.
Rody just shrugged. “It’s all good, I’m grateful for what you did. Although, if I had died stopping those bombs, I would've become a total legend.” He went on to explain.
Deku and I gave him a slightly concerned look before Deku spoke up again. “That's a morbid thing to say!” We all just laughed in response. “So, hey. Come up with any big plans for the future?” Deku asked.
I looked at Rody, curious to hear what he may be planning. “Just going back to my normal life for now. Though, I suppose, with all I've been through, who knows what's in store for me?” He answered, glancing in my direction. Pino Chirped in agreement , confirming Rody was being truthful about his unsureness.
As Deku was about to keep the conversation going, the overhead announcements informed the airport that our flight back to Japan was now boarding. After exchanging glances with me, Deku spoke up. “Right, I’m gonna run to catch our flight. Y/n I know you will need a moment but try to be quick.” His tone was understanding, he knew the chances of me and Rody being in the same place again soon were slim. After bidding farewell to Rody, Deku started for our flight.
It took a second for the reality of the citation to set in and when it did I turned to Rody, trying to hold back my tears. “I know I should be running to catch my flight but I can’t until I tell you this. I promise that no matter what happens in the future I will come back. Once I’m officially a pro hero. I’ll come back and we can actually explore what it means to be soulmates.” I explained. “But until then here is my phone number, please feel free to call or text whenever you get the chance. I don’t want the distance between us to affect what we have.” I finished handing him a piece of paper with my number on it.
Making eye contact with Rody it was clear he was trying to hide his true feelings but staying true to her nature, Pino was on his shoulder, tears filling her eyes. “Yeah of course, just promise to come visit between now and your pro hero debut. Okay?” He said with a bright smile.
I nodded before pulling him into a quick hug. “I promise. Now I need to run. Tell Roro and Lala I'll miss them and please stay outta trouble.” I heard the announcements calling for boarding again. “See you later, Rody.” With that I turned and ran off toward my flight's terminal. Finally once on the plane I did my best to wipe away my tears before anyone noticed.
“Don’t worry you’ll see him again soon.” Deku said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I just nodded, already looking forward to the first chance I could get to return to Otheon.

Rody means the world to you, The world has a way of taking advantage
Tumblr media
“Come on, slowpokes!” you called over your shoulder, already halfway up a stack of crates that led to your usual rooftop hideout above the bakery.
The streets of Otheon were always full of life, bustling markets, kids darting between stalls, the occasional shouts of vendors selling fresh bread or trinkets. But for you, Rody, and his siblings, the real adventure was never in the busy streets. It was in the quieter places, the hidden nooks and rooftops where no one bothered you.
“I’m trying!” Rody huffed, carrying Roro on his back while Lala clung to his arm. “Unlike you, I’ve got two little germs to deal with!”
Lala pouted. “I’m not a germ!”
“You kinda are,” Roro mumbled sleepily against Rody’s shoulder.
You laughed, hopping back down to help. “Alright, Lala, your ride’s here.” You crouched down, and without hesitation, she scrambled onto your back. “Hold on tight!”
Rody blinked at you, a little surprised, then turned his head away, hoping you wouldn’t notice the faint blush creeping onto his face. Pino, on the other hand, chirped way too much for it to go unnoticed. The little pink bird flitted around excitedly, landing on your shoulder and nuzzling into your cheek
As soon as she wrapped her arms around your neck, you effortlessly climbed back up, Lala giggling the whole way. When you reached the rooftop, you set her down, and she plopped onto the ground dramatically. “Made it!”
Rody finally got up after you, carefully setting Roro down before collapsing onto his back. “You have way too much energy,” he muttered, glancing at you.
You smirked. “you’re just getting old.”
“I’m old?” He scoffed, sitting up. “Excuse me? Who was the one struggling to carry Lala just now?”
“you were the one that was struggling with both—”
Pino, who had been fluttering around your head this whole time, landed on your shoulder and nuzzled against your cheek. You grinned and reached up to gently scratch her head. “What’s up with your little bird today? She’s been extra clingy.”
Rody stiffened. “Uh—no reason! She just, uh—likes you!”
Pino chirped a little too enthusiastically at that.
“she’s so cute and affectionate,” you said, narrowing your eyes. “If you ever want her off your hands i’ll gladly take her”
Rody quickly turned away, rubbing the back of his neck. “AHH! nooo. nope. no. nooooo. she’ll just stick with me”
You raised an eyebrow at him but let it go. If there was one thing about Rody, it was that he was always a little mysterious when it came to certain things.
Roro tugged at your sleeve, looking up at you with big eyes. “Can you tell us a story? The one about the hero who tricks the bad guys!”
“Again?” You grinned. “You guys never get tired of that one.”
“It’s the best one!” Lala said, scooting closer. “But this time, make Rody do the voices!”
Rody groaned. “Why me?”
“Because you’re good at it!”
You smirked, nudging him. “Yeah, come on, partner. Don’t leave me hanging.”
Rody sighed dramatically, but when Lala and Roro gave him matching puppy-dog eyes, he caved. “Fine.”
As you spun your tale, Rody, despite his earlier complaints, got really into the voices. Lala and Roro giggled at his exaggerated villain impressions, and even you had to bite back laughter at his over the top dramatic gasps. By the end of the story, Lala was leaning sleepily against your arm. “You’re gonna be a real hero someday,” she mumbled.
You ruffled her hair, grinning. “Maybe. But for now, I think Rody’s the real hero, he takes care of you guys all the time., you both better appreciate him” by the end you’ve adjusted to squishing her cheeks
Rody sputtered, caught off guard, and Pino chirped in agreement. “Whaaa No, I mean, I just do what I have to.”
His siblings nodded enthusiastically, and Lala giggled. “Then you can be the sidekick!”
“Hey!” you pouted, crossing your arms. “I think I should be the main hero here!”
Roro laughed. “No way! Rody’s way cooler!” Rody looked away, scratching the back of his head, clearly embarrassed but also secretly pleased. You just smirked at him, nudging him lightly with your shoulder.
“Guess that makes us partners, huh?” you said, offering your pinky to him.
For a second, Rody just stared at your outstretched hand, his heartbeat stuttering. Then, swallowing down whatever goofy feelings he had, he looped his pinky around yours, locking it in place.
“Yeah,” he said, softer this time. “Partners.” Pino chirped, flitting excitedly around you again.
“See? Even your bird agrees.” You shot him a teasing grin before offering your pinky. “Well i mean Ill say you’re my hero at least”
Rody just stared for a second, his heart skipping a beat. Then, swallowing down whatever weird feeling was creeping up on him, he linked his pinky with yours.
“You’re too much,” he said quietly.
Pino chirped again, landing between your hands.
You sighed dramatically. “Seriously, what’s with her today?”
Rody groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “I don’t know, okay? Just—drop it!”
Lala giggled, Roro snickered, and you? You just awkwardly smiled. You had no idea what was really going on. And Rody really hoped you wouldn’t figure it out anytime soon.

The warm glow of the Otheon sunset stretched across the rooftops as you made your way back home, the scent of freshly baked bread still clinging to your clothes. The afternoon had been perfect laughing with Rody, telling stories to Roro and Lala, and soaking in the feeling of belonging. But that feeling always faded when the night came.
The streets were quieter now, shadows stretching long against the buildings. You kept your head down, slipping through alleys with the ease of someone who had grown up in them. A habit. A necessity. Because the truth was, you couldn’t afford to be seen anymore.
Not after they found you.
It started a few weeks ago an offer, one you couldn’t refuse. The commission had their eyes on you for a while, watching, waiting. Not a hero in the traditional sense, but something else. Someone who could move unseen, get things done where others couldn’t.
They told you the country needed people like you. That you could make a real difference. after everything you’d been through, everything you’d done to survive, wasn’t that what you wanted?
Still, it didn’t feel real until you stepped inside the headquarters for the first time. Unlike the crowded streets of Otheon, the commission building was sleek, clinical. People moved with purpose, their faces unreadable. You weren’t sure what you expected maybe more warmth, more reassurance. But the moment you signed that contract, any illusions of comfort vanished.
“Your work will be in the shadows,” your handler had told you, sliding a file across the table. “We’re not looking for another flashy hero. We need efficiency. Discretion.”
You hesitated for only a moment before flipping the file open. That night, as you lay in your small apartment, staring at the ceiling, you thought about Rody and his siblings. About Lala’s certainty that you’d be a hero one day. About Rody’s quiet admiration when he thought you weren’t looking.
Would they understand this choice? Would they forgive you for walking a path that pulled you further away from them?
You exhaled sharply, sitting up. There was no room for hesitation. This was the only way forward. They didn’t need to know.

The trailer smelled like coffee and something faintly sweet, probably the remnants of breakfast from earlier that morning. The small kitchen was as cramped as ever, with barely enough space for one person, let alone two. Yet, somehow, you and Rody had both ended up here, navigating the tight space like an old dance neither of you had forgotten.
You reached for the sugar at the same time he did, your hands brushing. “Sorry—”
“My bad—”
You both pulled back, only for you to move toward the sink as he turned in the same direction. Your hip bumped against his, making him stagger slightly. “Seriously?” he huffed, rubbing his side with an amused smile.
“Not my fault your kitchen is tiny,” you shot back, nudging him playfully before grabbing a mug from the cabinet.
He shook his head, taking a sip of his coffee. “Or maybe you’re just in my way.”
You smirked. “Maybe you’re in mine.”
Another bump, this time, your shoulder against his as you reached for a spoon. The closeness wasn’t new, not really. You’d spent your childhood shoulder to shoulder, running through the streets of Otheon, always moving together. But something about now about being here after all this time made the space feel even smaller.
Rody exhaled, setting his cup down with a soft clink. “Y’know… I don’t see you much these days.”
The shift in his tone made you pause. You stirred your coffee absentmindedly, the spoon clinking softly against the ceramic. “Yeah? Guess I’ve been busy.”
“Right. Busy.” He crossed his arms, leaning against the counter. “You always disappear for weeks at a time. Then you show up out of nowhere, act like nothing’s changed, and then poof. Gone again.”
You looked at him, seeing the way his brow furrowed just slightly, the way Pino chirped softly from his shoulder, almost as if echoing his thoughts. You flashed an easy grin. “What, miss me that much?”
Rody rolled his eyes, but there was no real bite to it. “Not the point.”
You let out a soft chuckle, stepping aside as he reached past you for the sugar again. In the tight space, you barely had room to move without brushing against him. He didn’t step away, and neither did you.
“Come on, Rody,” you said lightly. “You know me. I go where the wind takes me.”
He scoffed, shaking his head. “Yeah. You always say that.”
The words were familiar, like an old refrain, but this time, they held something heavier beneath them. You didn’t answer right away, just took a sip of your coffee, letting the warmth settle in your hands. Rody studied you, waiting. You could feel it the way his gaze lingered just a little longer than necessary. Like he was searching for something.
Pino fluttered over to you, landing on your shoulder and nuzzling into your cheek. You smiled, brushing your fingers gently over her feathers. “Your bird’s really loves me. I think she’ll be happier following me around”
Rody exhaled a soft laugh, “she’s…. just affectionate ”
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The quiet wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t the same as before. It wasn’t the easy silence of two kids who had nothing to worry about. It was something different now something heavier, something older.
“Still the same, huh?” Rody finally said, his voice softer this time.
You smiled, tilting your head slightly. “Wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t.”
But you both knew that wasn’t true. You weren’t the same kids running through the streets, scraping by on clever tricks and sheer determination. Time had pulled you in different directions, left gaps that neither of you knew how to fill.
Still, you wouldn’t say that. You wouldn’t tell him where you’d been, what you’d been doing. Some things were better left unspoken. Rody let out a small sigh, running a hand through his hair before picking up his coffee again. “Guess I’ll just have to enjoy the company while you’re here, then.”
You clinked your mug against his in a small toast, your grin still in place. “I hold the company I have with you so close.”
Pino chirped again, and Rody glanced at her before shaking his head with a smile.

A question came up more often than you liked.
“You don’t have a hero name?”
People always asked with some mix of surprise and curiosity, like the idea of someone doing this kind of work without a flashy title was strange. Like it wasn’t normal to just be a person. But you never had an answer that satisfied them.
Because the truth was, you never needed one. Heroes had names to stand for something hope, power, legacy. They had people waiting for them, people who chanted their names in the streets, who relied on their presence. But for you?
There was no crowd waiting. No legacy to uphold. Just the job. That’s what you sold yourself too. Growing up in Otheon, names didn’t mean much. You learned early on that no one was coming to save you. No one cared what you called yourself when you were scraping by, running through life with Rody, protecting his siblings from the kind of people who didn’t bother learning kids’ names before taking what they wanted.
Survival was enough. A name wouldn’t have changed a thing. Even now, with the commission branding you as one of their best assets, you still didn’t see the point. The work you did wasn’t meant for the spotlight it was quiet, precise, the kind of thing that made people uneasy when they thought about how things really got done.
And maybe, deep down, it was better this way. A name meant being known. And to be known was to be missed.
You weren’t sure you could handle that.

The night air was cool against your skin as you leaned back against the hood of Rody’s beat up car or is probably his car, you stopped asking. Staring up at the Otheon sky. The city lights blurred out most of the stars, but a few stubborn ones still shone through, distant but steady.
Rody sat beside you, one leg pulled up, his arms resting lazily over his knee. Pino was curled up on his shoulder, half dozing. For once, the world wasn’t pulling either of you in different directions. No missions. No responsibilities. Just this.
“You ever think about leaving?” he asked suddenly, voice softer than usual.
You glanced at him. “Otheon?”
“Yeah. The city. The country. Just… all of it.”
You exhaled, tilting your head back. “I used to.”
He didn’t respond right away. Just sat with it, letting the silence settle between you like a familiar weight. Then, finally “But you stay.”
You turned your head toward him. His eyes were unreadable, reflecting the dim city lights, but there was something in them, something careful. Like he was waiting for an answer that mattered.
“…Yeah.”
Rody hummed, looking away, a small smile playing on his lips. “Good.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Good?”
“Yeah.” He let out a breath, rubbing the back of his neck. “Because if you left, I think the whole damn world would feel it.”
You blinked, caught off guard. “…Rody.”
“I mean it.” He turned to face you fully now, his expression uncharacteristically serious. “I know you don’t think about yourself like that. I know you don’t see yourself the way you should. But you—” He huffed, shaking his head. “You matter, Y/n. To me. To the kids. To a hell of a lot more people than you think.”
Your throat tightened. You had spent so long moving in the dark, convincing yourself that it was better that way, that your presence wasn’t needed. Rody saw right through that. Like he always did.
“…You really believe that?” you asked quietly.
He let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. “Of course I do, dumbass.”
Rody reached for your hand, threading his fingers through yours with a familiarity that made your chest ache. His grip was warm, solid, grounding.
“We’ve always been surviving against the world, I’m scared you don’t know how much you mean. Everything is changing and… and-” he said. “You just need to be you. And that’s enough.”
You swallowed hard, looking down at your intertwined hands. There was no teasing in his voice, no deflection. Just truth. For a long time, you had carried the weight of being unseen, unnoticed, untethered. But Rody saw you.

It was supposed to be another straightforward mission for you, a pro hero on a routine contract. The job was simple, intercept an illegal exchange of weapons and information, apprehend the individuals involved, and ensure the goods didn’t make it onto the streets. You had done this hundreds of times. But now, standing above the alley, you realized just how easily something simple could spiral into chaos.
You’d always kept your personal life separate from your work as a pro hero. Being top tier came with its own pressures, and if you were honest with yourself, you didn’t need anyone’s pity or sympathy. The world of heroes was a strange one, filled with expectations, spotlight, and public relations. You never cared for the fanfare or the flashy name. To you, it had always been about getting the job done, saving lives, and making sure that people who needed help got it.
The mission was unfolding, but everything felt wrong.
You crouched low, eyes scanning the alley below as you noticed the familiar figure of Rody, his lanky frame standing awkwardly among a group of shady looking individuals. His hands were shoved deep in his pockets, trying to play it cool, but the tension in his shoulders told a different story. He was out of his depth, and you could see it.
The voices from your earpiece crackled with static, a reminder of the task at hand. “Y/n, do you have visual on the target?”
You clenched your jaw. “Yeah. I see him.”
The rush of adrenaline hit you. You were supposed to be the one in control. You were the one who was supposed to stay ahead of this. no surprises, no distractions.
You’d seen Rody around the city occasionally, but you never really asked about what he was doing. He always seemed to disappear for days at a time, coming back with some new odd job, a bit more worn down, a bit quieter each time. He never talked about his work, and you never asked. You had your own life to handle, your own responsibilities to take care of. But seeing him standing there, surrounded by men you knew were tied to dangerous underground syndicates, made your blood run cold.
“Shit,” you muttered under your breath, realizing what this was.
You’d been hired for the same mission, but you never imagined he’d be involved in something like this. The contract you’d taken was straightforward: stop an illegal arms trade. But seeing Rody here, in the middle of it, made your stomach drop. He wasn’t a part of this world the world you worked in as a pro hero. This wasn’t the carefree kid you’d grown up with, not by a long shot. He was knee deep in a deal with people you knew to be dangerous, and the worst part was, he didn’t even seem to notice the weight of it.
Rody adjusted his jacket, glancing around like he was trying to hide his nerves. The man in front of him, a bulky figure with a scar running down his cheek, sneered as he took a step closer. “You’re late. You got what we asked for?”
You tensed, instinctively crouching lower behind the ledge, your heart pounding in your chest. The contract you had taken was to take down a ring of illegal arms dealers that had been slipping through the cracks of the law. They were smart, elusive slipping between the hands of the law with fake names and a string of different identities. You had been tracking their movements for weeks, and now here they were, just a few steps from being caught.
But Rody didn’t belong here. It wasn’t just the shady group of people. It was the fact that he was so calm too calm. This wasn’t the awkward, lovable Rody you grew up with. This was someone else, someone playing a part in a world you didn’t want him anywhere near.
The scarred man reached into his coat, pulling out a small package wrapped in cloth. “You know what to do with this,” he said in a low, menacing tone, handing it over to Rody. You couldn’t see the contents from this angle, but you didn’t need to. The exchange was happening.
You swallowed, unsure of what to do next.
“Rody, what the hell are you doing?” you muttered under your breath, a mix of anger and confusion flooding your chest. You never thought he’d go this far this deep into the underground world.
A flash of movement caught your eye, and you snapped your attention back to Rody. He was holding the package now, slipping it into his jacket like it was no big deal, still wearing that careless grin of his. The man gave him a nod of approval, and Rody took a step back, almost as if he was waiting for something.
Your heart raced. Was this the moment to act? Static crackled again in your earpiece. “Y/n, what’s your status?”
You exhaled, trying to steady your breath. “I’ve got eyes on the target.” You hesitated, your thoughts racing. “There’s someone else in the mix. Stand by.”
The radio was silent for a moment. “Acknowledged. Proceed with caution.”
You didn’t respond. Your mind was already made up. You couldn’t leave him there. You couldn’t just walk away and pretend it was any other mission. You had to act. Slowly, you slid from your perch, moving down toward the alley with practiced silence. Every movement, every step, had to be calculated. This wasn’t just about catching criminals anymore. This was about saving someone you cared about, someone who, despite everything, still mattered to you.
As you neared the corner, you heard Rody’s voice, low and a little too relaxed for the situation. “So, uh, do I just walk away, or what?”
The scarred man smirked. “You’ve done your part. Now get lost.”
Rody shrugged, turning as if he were about to leave. But then, just before he could make it to the exit, you rounded the corner.
“Hey!”
He froze, eyes wide as he looked up, catching sight of you standing at the end of the alley. His expression shifted surprise, then recognition, followed by that damn grin of his. “Y/N? What the hell are you doing here?”
You didn’t answer. You took a step toward him, hands raised, quirk already activating. “Get out of here,” you said, voice low but firm. “Now.”
He didn’t move. He just stared at you, a thousand questions in his eyes. “wait what?”
You didn’t want to explain. You didn’t want to answer the question he had no right to ask. You had always kept your work separate from your personal life, and this was not how you wanted him to find out what you’ve been occupied with.
The scarred man behind him grunted, clearly annoyed by the interruption. “What’s this?” he growled, eyeing you suspiciously.
Rody held up a hand, signaling for the man to calm down. “Hey, it’s fine. She’s an old friend. We go way back.”
But you couldn’t lie to him now. Not when he was standing there with a package in hand, standing right in the middle of your mission.
“I’m a pro,” you said, the words slipping out of your mouth before you could stop them. “But I’m not here for you. You need to walk away before things get worse.”
Rody blinked, looking down at the package in his hand, then back at you. “This… This is what you’re after?”
You didn’t answer. Rody swallowed, the tension suddenly making itself clear. “You know what this is, don’t you?” His voice was quieter now, a little softer.
“I know,” you said quietly. “But this isn’t the world you want to be in. It never was.”
The confident grin faded from his face for the first time since you’d seen him. His shoulders stiffened, his eyes narrowing. “I don’t need you to tell me what I can and can’t do.” His voice was sharp, defensive like he was trying to convince himself as much as he was trying to convince you.
You stepped forward, keeping your voice steady. “This isn’t some delivery, Rody. This is an illegal arms deal. And you’re standing right in the middle of it.”
He didn’t answer, but his jaw tightened, and his gaze shifted uneasily. You could see the conflict behind his eyes now, the way he was trying to hold on to that facade of control, but it was slipping. He didn’t want to admit that he’d made a mistake, that he’d gotten too deep.
“You don’t have to do this,” you said softly, lowering your hands slightly. “There’s always another way.”
Rody stared at you for a long moment, the tension thick between you. His lips pressed into a thin line, and for a second, it felt like he might say something real, something vulnerable. But then he just shook his head, the smile returning, forced this time.
“Yeah, well, we all gotta make a living somehow.” He picked up the package again, slipping it into his jacket, and turned his back to you. “I’m not your problem anymore.”
You reached out instinctively, grabbing his arm and spinning him around. “Rody, stop!”
He met your eyes, his expression unreadable, but the way his gaze flickered for a split second told you everything. “I have to do this.”
The words hit harder than you expected, and for a moment, you were both frozen in place, neither of you moving. The sound of Pino chirping nervously on his shoulder barely registered in the background.
Finally, Rody pulled his arm away gently, but there was a finality in the motion that stung more than it should have. “You’re a hero,” he said quietly, his voice almost sad now. “You do your thing. Let me do mine.”
You couldn’t let him go. Not like this. Before you could speak again, the scarred man growled, stepping toward you. “Enough talking. You’re not gonna ruin this deal, are you?”
Rody didn’t look back at you. He just started walking toward the exit, his steps slow but determined.
You stood there for a moment, torn between staying on mission and pulling Rody back from the edge he was so dangerously close to falling off. But you knew he was too far in now.

Rody had expected this to be another routine gig quick in, quick out, no complications. But now? He was sprinting through a crumbling warehouse, barely keeping up as bullets ricocheted off steel beams and crates splintered around him. This was not what he signed up for.
And the biggest problem wasn’t the deal gone wrong. It was you.
You moved through the fray like it was second nature, weaving through enemies like you had all the time in the world. Rody had always known you were quick, clever, and strong growing up, but this? The way you fought, the way you anticipated every move before it happened, the sheer confidence in your stance, none of it made sense.
He’d seen you fight before. Back when you were kids, you used to take down low level thugs together, scamming the occasional rich idiot out of their money just to survive another day. But that had been scrappy, desperate. Survival.
This was something else entirely. He barely ducked under a flying crate, cursing under his breath. “Oh, come on—”
The guy who threw it didn’t get another chance. You pivoted, a single sharp movement, and with barely a touch, redirected the momentum of the crate straight back at its sender. The impact sent him flying into a rusted container with a loud clang.
Rody’s brain stuttered. You hadn’t just dodged, you had controlled it. Like you’d known exactly where the force was going to go.
And you were completely calm about it.
He barely had time to process before another attacker lunged at him. Rody braced himself, twisting just in time to dodge, but before he could counter, you were already there. A single, well placed strike sent the guy sprawling to the ground, unconscious before he hit the concrete. Rody exhaled sharply. “Okay—what the fuck—”
You just turned to him, barely out of breath. Then another wave of enemies poured in.
“Later,” you said, grabbing his wrist and pulling him behind cover just as gunfire shredded through a nearby wall. He felt the way your grip tightened not panicked, not frantic, but controlled. You had everything mapped out in your head. You knew exactly what was happening.
Rody didn’t know what to focus on, the gunfire, the chaos, or the fact that the person he grew up with, the person he thought he knew, was not the same anymore.
You peeked out from cover, scanning the situation. “Alright, we need to move—”
Rody grabbed your sleeve, yanking you back before you could go any further. “No.” His chest rose and fell as he tried to catch his breath. His mind was spinning. “What do you do?”
You blinked. He wasn’t joking. His usual carefree expression was gone, replaced with something between shock and frustration. His brown eyes searched yours for some kind of explanation, some reason why the person standing in front of him wasn’t just the same street smart kid he grew up with.
You hesitated for only a second before smirking. “Let’s just say…” You adjusted your stance, tilting your head slightly. “I got a little more official than you.”
Rody blinked. Then the realization hit him like a train.
“Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me. what you said earlier was real? ” Rody groaned, running a hand through his hair as the realization fully settled in. “You’re a hero?” The words sounded ridiculous coming out of his mouth, but there was no denying it now.
You gave him a lopsided grin, adjusting your stance. “Surprised?”
“Surprised doesn’t cover it,” he muttered. His heart was still pounding, half from the gunfire, half from the fact that everything he thought he knew about you was apparently wrong.
You shot him a knowing look, but before he could argue more, another burst of gunfire tore through the air, forcing you both to duck. The remaining thugs were regrouping, barking orders, trying to surround you.
Rody exhaled sharply. No time to argue.
“Alright,” he said, glancing around. “We need an exit.”
You peeked over the crate you were crouched behind, scanning the warehouse. “Main doors are too risky, they’ll have snipers covering the outside. Back entrance?”
“Locked, bolted, probably rigged to hell,” Rody said without missing a beat. He had already been looking for exits the moment things went sideways. Years of slipping in and out of trouble taught him to always have a way out.
You grinned. “ok pretty boy i’m gonna need you to lock in.”
Rody rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Give me cover, I’ll get us out.”
Just like that, the tension shifted. The shock of finding each other on opposite sides of the mission took a backseat to something more instinctual survival. The old rhythm kicked in before either of you could think about it. You launched forward, drawing the attention of the gunmen while Rody moved, darting between shadows and obstacles, slipping into the background like he was made for it.
And damn it, it was smooth. While you dismantled threats head on, Rody did what he did best found an opening no one else would’ve noticed. He spotted a rusted out maintenance ladder leading up to a row of high windows. If they could get up there, they could drop onto the roof and disappear before anyone noticed.
He worked fast, prying open an access panel and overriding the lock mechanism with a flick of his wrist.
“Y/N!” he called over his shoulder. “Exit secured!”
You heard him, but you were still occupied, two guys left, both moving in sync, trying to corner you. You sidestepped one’s attack, caught his wrist mid swing, and redirected the momentum into the other guy, sending them both sprawling.
Rody stared with awe. “Damn.”
You grinned, breath steady. “Told you. Official.”
“Yeah, yeah, get moving!”
You fell into step behind him, scaling the ladder with practiced ease. As soon as you reached the top, Rody swung the window open and hoisted himself onto the roof, offering a hand to pull you up after him.
“Not bad,” you said as you both landed, crouched low on the rooftop. The night air was crisp, the chaos below now just a dull hum.
Rody dusted off his jacket, grinning despite himself. “Yeah, well… turns out I still know how to work with you.”
You met his gaze, and for a second, it was like nothing had changed like you were still just two kids running through the streets of Otheon, watching each other’s backs, finding your way out of trouble together.
Except now, the stakes were higher. And you weren’t sure where you stood anymore. Rody exhaled, shoving his hands into his pockets. “So… what now, hero?”
You glanced back at the warehouse. “You tell me, thief.”
The tension between you both lingered, but there was no time to pick it apart. Not now. Not while the remnants of the fight still rang in your ears, and adrenaline buzzed beneath your skin.
Rody shook his head, letting out a breath as he stared out over the rooftops. “You know, I thought tonight was gonna be simple. Just another job, in and out, no surprises.” He shot you a look, half exasperated, half amused. “And then you show up.”
You smirked, crossing your arms. “What, disappointed?”
He scoffed. “I don’t know what I am. Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that you—” He gestured at you, exasperated. “—are a hero.”
You shrugged, feeling the weight of the moment settle in. “Wasn’t exactly the plan growing up. But life happens.”
“Yeah. Life happens.” He let out a short laugh, rubbing his temple. “And apparently, it happened to you a lot harder than it did to me.”
You just hummed in response, watching the city stretch out below you. The streets you both grew up on were still the same bright, busy, uncaring. But standing here now, after everything, you realized you weren’t the same kids anymore.
Rody shifted beside you, reaching into his jacket. “Speaking of jobs…” He pulled out a small, tightly wrapped package, the one he had been hired to deliver.
You frowned. “That what this was all about?”
“Yeah. Didn’t exactly ask questions when I took the gig.” He exhaled sharply, tossing the package once in his hand. “Turns out, I probably should’ve.”
You held out your hand. “Let me see it. Rody hesitated for half a second before placing it in your palm. You turned it over, feeling the weight. The package was small, but whatever was inside wasn’t just some ordinary delivery. You had a bad feeling about it.
“I need to take this,” you said finally, slipping it into your jacket. You shot him a look. “This thing nearly got you killed. Whatever’s inside? It’s dangerous. And if it’s linked to whatever bastard sent those guys after us, I need to know what it is.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Yeah, I figured you’d say that.”
“Then why do you sound so annoyed?”
“Because,” he grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets, “I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to deal with you stealing my paycheck tonight.”
You smirked. “Technically, it was never yours to begin with.”
He groaned. “Oh, shut up.”
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The weight of the night, the revelations, the near-death experienced it all settled between you.
Then, Rody stepped closer, tilting his head slightly. “You know, for what it’s worth… I get it now.”
You blinked. “Get what?”
He gave you a lopsided grin. “Why you stayed.”
Your breath caught. He wasn’t teasing. Wasn’t deflecting. He just meant it.
And suddenly, everything—the mission, the years of knowing each other , the different paths you had taken it all faded into something smaller. Less important. Without thinking, you grabbed his jacket and pulled him into a hug. Rody stiffened for only a second before relaxing, arms wrapping tightly around you. He smelled like gunpowder and cheap cologne, familiar and warm in a way that made your chest ache.
“Idiot,” you muttered against his shoulder. “You mean more to me than some dumb package.”
Rody let out a breathless laugh, squeezing you a little tighter. “Yeah. You too.” And just when the moment felt too much, when your heart was on the verge of really saying something stupid

Something in his voice made your chest tighten. You had spent so long keeping your distance, letting your work pull you away from him and the life you once had. Now, seeing him like this standing beside you, after everything you realized how much you missed him.
And you weren’t going to let the moment slip away. Before Rody could react, you closed the distance and wrapped your arms around him.
He stiffened at first, caught off guard. But after a second, he sighed, his body relaxing as he slowly returned the embrace. His arms curled around you, firm but familiar, like they belonged there. You turned your head and kissed his cheek.
Rody froze.
A strangled noise escaped him as he immediately let go, taking a full step back. “H-Hey! What was that for!?”
You grinned, hands on your hips. “Oh, relax, pretty boy. Just proving a point.”
His ears were bright red. “You are so—”
But before he could finish, a tiny, distressed chirp rang out. You barely had time to react before Pino, who had been perched on Rody’s shoulder, suddenly collapsed, dramatically fainting onto your head.
Both of you stared at the tiny bird, now sprawled over your hair like she had just witnessed the most scandalous thing in existence.
Rody groaned, covering his face. “Pino, please.”
You burst out laughing. “Oh my god—”
Pino twitched weakly, as if trying to recover from the absolute shock of it all. “Pino—?” Your brows furrowed in concern, carefully cupping your hands around her small form.
Rody sighed beside you, rubbing the back of his neck, but there was no real annoyance in his voice when he muttered, “Yeah… saw that coming.”
You looked at him, confused, but his expression told you everything you needed to know.
Pino was relieved.
He never told you his quirk but right now you saw him in her. She had always been a reflection of Rody’s true emotions, the ones he didn’t say out loud. And right now, she wasn’t holding anything back she was clinging to you, sobbing like she had been carrying the weight of all the time you had been gone.
Your chest tightened.
You gently stroked her head with your thumb, whispering, “Hey, I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Pino let out another wobbly chirp, her grip tightening. Rody let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. “Yeah, yeah, she’s gonna be like this for a while.” He glanced at you, something unspoken in his gaze. “Guess I can’t blame her.”
You met his eyes, something settling between you and Rody no matter how much he pretended otherwise had missed you just as much.
How long had it been since you had really been here? Since you let yourself be with Rody, without the weight of your job, without keeping him at arm’s length?
Too long. Way too long. The thought hit you all at once, and before you could think twice, you launched yourself at him.
“Rody!”
His eyes barely had time to widen before you crashed into him again, arms wrapping around his shoulders as your full weight sent the both of you stumbling. He let out a startled grunt, barely keeping his balance as you buried your face against his neck.
“Whoa—okay—hi didn’t we just do this?” He sounded surprised, but his hands instinctively came up to hold you steady.
You didn’t care.
“You mean so much to me,” you mumbled against his skin before pressing a firm kiss to his cheek. “Like, so much.”
Rody froze. You felt his whole body tense, his breath hitch. Pino, still curled between you two, let out a delighted little chirp, wiggling excitedly at the pure joy radiating off of you.
For a second, Rody was completely silent. “You really had to go for the cheek, huh?”
You pulled back just enough to see his face, his ears were red. Like, burning red. His usual easy smirk was nowhere to be found. Instead, he was staring at you, wide eyed, lips parted slightly, and way too stiff to be playing it cool.
You grinned, tilting your head. “What? Would you rather I kissed you somewhere else?”
He made a choked noise. “I—”
You laughed, tightening your hold on him. “I missed you, idiot.”
Slowly, his hands settled more firmly against your back, fingers gripping just enough to keep you there. His chest rose and fell beneath you, and finally, he let out a quiet chuckle.
“…Yeah.” His voice was softer now, barely above a breath. “I missed you too.”
Pino chirped happily, flapping her wings.
“Now come on, partner. We’ve got work to do.”
Rody rolled his eyes, but there was a smile tugging at his lips as he held you tighter.

The small trailer was as rowdy as ever, filled with the sounds of Roro and Lala excitedly recounting their day. You sat on the couch, Lala clinging to your arm while Roro dramatically reenacted a scene from school.
“—And then I told him, ‘That’s not how you do it!’ and bam, I solved the problem first!” Roro grinned proudly.
You gasped, playing along. “No way. You totally outsmarted them.”
“Obviously.”
Lala tugged at your sleeve. “Did you see my drawing? I made you a hero!”
Your heart warmed. “Yeah? Let me see.”
She beamed and scrambled to grab her notebook. Rody, meanwhile, leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed, watching. His expression was unreadable, but you knew him well enough to catch the way his fingers tapped lightly against his arm a small habit of his when he was thinking too much.
After Lala finished showing off her masterpiece (which featured you punching a villain twice your size), Rody finally spoke up.
“Alright, alright, bedtime,” he announced.
Roro groaned. “But—”
“No buts.”
Lala pouted dramatically. “You just wanna talk to Y/n alone.”
Rody sputtered. “I—what? No, I just—”
You burst into laughter. “Smart kid.”
Lala giggled, dragging Roro toward their room. “Goodnight, Y/n! Don’t let Rody be too boring.”
The second their door closed, the trailer fell into a quieter hum. The absence of their voices made the space feel smaller.
You exhaled, standing up. “They’ve got you figured out.”
Rody huffed, moving to the sink. “Yeah, yeah.” He grabbed a glass, filling it with water. “So, you sticking around this time, or am I gonna have to wait another few months for you to show up again?”
You blinked. There it was, the question you had expected, but still weren’t fully ready for. Stepping into the kitchen, you leaned on the counter beside him. The space was narrow, just enough that every time Rody shifted, his arm brushed against yours.
“You miss me?” you teased.
Rody scoffed. “No. Pino does.”
Right on cue, Pino fluttered onto your shoulder, nuzzling into your cheek with an excited chirp.
You grinned. “Uh-huh. Just Pino, huh?”
Rody turned to face you, his usual smirk in faded something about it was different. Maybe it was the way his fingers drummed absently against the counter. Maybe it was how his breath had slightly hitched when you got closer.
“What do you want me to say?” he asked.
You shrugged. “Maybe the truth.”
Something flickered across his face. Neither of you moved, the weight of unspoken things pressing between you. suddenly, you were done waiting. You reached up, cupping his face, and before Rody could react.
You kissed him.
It was soft hesitant for just a second—until Rody melted. His breath caught, his hands gripping the counter like he was grounding himself, like he was making sure this was real.
Pino let out the most dramatic squeak you had ever heard before fainting onto the counter.
You barely registered it, too focused on the warmth of Rody’s lips, the way he exhaled like he had been holding this in for years. When you finally pulled back, his eyes were wide.
“You—” His voice cracked, and he coughed, rubbing the back of his neck. “You really do so much for me?”
You glanced up at the tiny, unconscious bird. “…Yeah, when it comes to you, i’ll do anything”
Rody groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “Y/n…. what is this .”
You smirked. “did you like it?”
Rody opened his mouth paused then sighed, shaking his head with a lopsided grin.
“Yeah,” he admitted. “Yeah, I did.”
You grinned, wrapping your arms around his waist, and this time
He pulled you in first.

This is my first time writing abt an anime characterr ahh so im sorry if i dont get rodys character right! Or if i mess up some things up, i had so much fun writing this! I apologize for how long it is, but i hope everyone enjoy it!
Readers quirk! (got this off tt) : Crystals - You can make crystals from your hands, or by touching the ground to make them, you can also shoot crystals like bullets and color/shape them into whatever you want, initially using them as a shield or weapons. (Similar to shotos ice quirk)
As everyone was sent to different locations across the globe you were taken with the heroes of the Endeavor Agency as you were doing your work study there, although you totally didnt expect things to go south so fast and to also fall in love during this mission..
-
“God one second im out running errands and the next thing i know im hiding from the police because im being framed for mass murder!” You said clearly frustrated, “hey, I am too you know! But i just cant seem to wrap my mind around as to why we are being framed for this.” Izuku says with a slight frown as he fixes his hat, thinking.
“It doesnt matter, we just have to lay low for now and keep this stupid briefcase safe.” You say with an annoyed tone, readjusting your new clothes the best you could as you sit on top of the bus.
You look at izuku staring at his phone whispering a small “come on..” in hopes of shoto being able to understand his coded message, you bite your lip worried so you decided to glance over at the boy you met a while ago instead.
He had a worried expression on his face as he stared at a picture in a necklace of two little kids, “those yours? Not gonna lie you do look really young for being a dad of two.” You say chuckling softly.
He looked up at you and shook his head slowly, “No, those are my little siblings, Lala and Roro.” He said, looking back down at the small picture of them.
You give him a small nod, not wanting to push any further.. you all decided on getting down since the place looked empty, you sighed in relief using your quirk to make a big crystal, sliding down it safely then shrinking it. Izuku using black whip to get him and rody down aswell.
Izuku and rody talked before seeing him walk over to the phone. You stayed behind with izuku, stretching your arms and legs, you looked over at him seeing the worried expression he had plastered onto his face, “im sure they understood the code ‘zuku, shotos pretty smart id be surprised if he didn’t understand it.” You said, placing a hand on his shoulder hoping to make him less worried.
“Yeah, you’re right! Im sure by now they are fixing this mess…” he says, a little bit unsure but still keeping a smile on his face. You nod and place your head on his shoulder, “i hope so too..” you mumbled, closing your eyes.
We heard a loud bang paired with a “damn it!” so you both walked over to where rody was at, “hey is everything okay?” You heard izuku say softly, you nodded looking at him a bit worried.
He turned around and scoffed a little, “Oh yeah, life couldnt be any better.” He said sarcastically. You looked at one another before deciding to start moving again.
-
Hours later, the sky was dark and you all had decided to take a break in an old farmhouse to get some rest and figure out everything that had happened tomorrow.
You were beside izuku reading the same map he had of Otheon before speaking out, “thats not great, doesnt look like anythings crossing the border from here.. we’ll have to borrow some sort of vehicle tomorrow, otherwise we’ll be stuck walking..” he said continuing to read the map.
You let out a loud groan, “walking? You’re crazy! Did you forget how heavy this thing is??” You heard the boy say as he sat up looking in your direction, shocked and annoyed.
“If you get tired i can just carry you on my back, thats what strength is for right? To help people when they are in trouble!” Izuku said smiling while flexing his muscles in a playful way. You and rody both give him a look before you rolled over to your side, “beats me, wake me up when you find a vehicle alright?” You said, yawning and closing your eyes.
You hear rody let out a scoff, “maybe fix our current situation rather than treating me like a backpack.” He says, then hearing izuku agree saying we will, you were gonna respond back to the boys somewhat snarky comment but decided to just close your eyes instead.
After a while you had fallen asleep to the quietness that surrounded you, then waking up to a small bird chirping frantically in your face. You sat up and rubbed your eyes, “huh?..”
“Hey whats going on?” You said before seeing how frantic the bird was getting, urging you to look over at the empty space. “Ah shit. The boys gone!” You said, getting up and shaking izuku awake, “hey zu! Wake up, hes gone!” You said, shaking him even more.
“Huh whats going on?” He said getting up quickly, “no, he wouldnt..” he said panicking, “god the briefcase is gone too!” You said, also feeling panicked as you noticed the briefcase wasnt anywhere in sight. The bird then rushes outside so you both run after it, following the small pink bird.
You werent running for long before sighting a helicopter and a big man towering over the boy, “over there!” You say, then using your quirk to shoot crystals at the man, only distracting him for a bit so izuku can get closer and go over towards them, using his quirk. You run over to the boy that was on the ground, “idiot! are you okay?” You yell, helping him up.
Out of no where you both get pushed out of the way by izuku, you look over and see a lady with arrows, the same one that had attacked you guys before, shooting one at izuku before he uses his quirk again.
The boy goes over to izuku worried, “why did you do that?..” he says shocked, “no time! I need you to hold onto me tightly,” izuku says, kneeling a bit, “zuku! You’re injured, i can take him dont worry, ill follow you!” You say as you grabbed onto him, blushing a little at how close you were.
You take a deep breath in and start shooting out big crystals to run on, following izuku in the dark not daring to look back.
-
After stopping somewhere izuku had pulled out the arrow, drops of blood gushing out. You looked at his injury as you crouched down next to him, disgusted at the sight.
“Wait here, ill find a doctor or something!” The boy said a bit panicked as he looked around for help, “it wasnt that deep in, ill be fine dont worry..it destroyed my phone though.” Izuku said, breathing heavily.
“Turn around, i think we packed a first aid kit.” You said remembering, but feeling a bit guilty. As a hero in training you shouldve looked out, being ready for anything, you got lost in your own head as izuku kept on talking, drowing out the noise of them talking and searched for the kit, grabbing it and removing the shirt that he had on, patching him up as best as you could.
Once you were finished you walked around for a bit, finding a small cave to hide out in. For the most part the way there was silent, and it was also silent while building a small fire inside the cave to stay warm.
While izuku was reading his map again the boy and you sat in silence for a while around the fire, you were a bit surprised when he spoke up, “why did you take the arrow back there?” You and izuku both looked up, “what are you asking?” Izuku said, confused.
He inhales a bit frustrated, getting up, “i betrayed you guys, i took the briefcase while you were sleeping.. instead of worrying about me you couldve grabbed it and ran away...” He said staring out into the dark night sky.
“Uhh why would we do something like that?” Izuku says, still confused. “I was the one with stolen jewels earlier, im one of those bad guys you heroes hate and want to throw in jail.” He says shrugging, still not looking over.
“Well we cant ignore when someones in trouble. Hero or not you’re still a person, so we want to do everything we can to help” You say standing up. He turns around and looks at you slightly shocked, then looking over at izuku.
“But why would a criminal like me be worth getting hurt over?” He said still not believing it, “its always worth it if im able to help someone, no matter who it is!” izuku says with a happy genuine smile on his face.
“I do not get you both..” he says shaking his head, stepping back to sit down on one of the big rocks in the cave.
You sit back down aswell, “ha, you and me couldnt be any more different.” He said chuckling, “huh?” You say looking up at him, although he already had his head turned as he looked up at the sky, seeing the night stars.
“My futures pretty much set in stone, i dont have the luxuries of saying some nonsense like, ‘i wanna be a pilot.’ All i can do is provide for my younger siblings..” the boy said, still not making any eye contact with either of you.
You looked at him a bit shocked, feeling a bit bad for him.
“Well maybe-” izuku said getting up, the boy snapped his head back finally making some eye contact, “dont say a word, i dont want your pity!” He said a bit loud.
Izuku stayed quiet and sat back down, you bit your lip at the awkward and quiet moment before rody spoke up again, “i always thought heroes just wanted fame and money, you see the pros never come to where i live, they wouldnt make a buck there..” he said getting quiet for a second before speaking up again, “but.. i guess there are heroes around like you two.” He said now looking at the floor.
You look at him with wide eyes, cheeks a little pink. “The more i sit around and know more about you two the more i wonder about what im doing with my own life.” He says with closed eyes, smirking a bit, “truth is im pretty lame.” He says with a small chuckle, shaking his head.
You chuckle at what he says, you listen to how izuku thought he was weak, and how he still wants to be a hero with a smile on his face everytime he helps someone, “if im being honest myself most times i feel very weak..but thats why i push myself, im determined to be the best hero i can be!” you said with a big smile, “ and zu, you’re pretty inspirational, i can totally see you being the number one hero.” You say chuckling a bit.
“Look, everyone has their doubts about themselves, but if you dont push yourself and work for the future you want, it wont happen. Things are tough, and i definitely know how life isnt fair, but i say try your best to reach for your goals however you can! Step by step.” You say flashing him a smile, he looks at both you and izuku in awe for a while then smirking a little, getting up and walking closer.
The little pink bird appearing on top of izukus head, “oh yeah, thats pino.” He says with a small chuckle as pino starts chirping and flying above yours and izukus heads. “Hey pino.” You said with a smile as the bird kept chirping happily.
“Oh and by the way the names Rody Soul, we sort of skipped intros earlier.” He said with a small chuckle. Izuku stood up with a smile on his face, “and my names Izuku midoriya but call me my hero name, deku!” He said with another big and bright smile, “deku.. thats easy to remember.” Rody said with a smile as he placed his hands on his hips.
You stood up, “my names y/n l/n, but you can just call me by my hero name, Gem! Or both, doesnt matter to me.” You say smiling, letting out a small laugh.
“Gem.. well y/n you have a beautiful name, guess ill just have to switch around both yeah?” He said giving you a small smirk.
You nodded staying quiet as your face turned a bit red.
“Well lets get some sleep rody, y/n.” Izuku said looking at you both sending you a knowing look, you ignored it and nodded.
“Yeah sounds good to me deku,” rody said with a smile. He nodded and found a spot to lay down in, placing his hat over his face.
You layed down aswell and tried your best to sleep, you thoughts flooding your mind. After a while you could hear soft snores coming from izuku as you also heard a small whisper, “hey… y/n you asleep?” You looked over at rody and sat up a little, “yeah.. cant sleep, just keep thinking about this big mess we got into.”
You said grabbing your knees, “yeahh.. me too…” he said quietly, you pressed your lips together for a moment before speaking, “want to talk about it?” You said with a small smile.
He looked at you for a while before nodding slowly, you scooted over closer as you looked at him. “Alright.. whats keeping you up then?” you said, staring at him.
“Well.. i guess im just worried about my siblings.. i mean i guess i just wonder if they’re okay. Their still kids so i dont want to leave them by themselves..” he said huffing and placing his hand on his cheek.
You nod, “i understand, im sure their okay! So dont worry too much alright? We’ll fix this mess soon so you can go home and see them!” You said looking at izuku sleeping.
He looks at you and nods, “yeah.. by the way, are you both..?” He said hinting at you and izuku. Your eyes open wide and you shake your head, “oh nono! we’re just friends!” You say chuckling nervously as your face immediately turned red.
“You sure?..” he says chuckling, enjoying the way your face turned red, “i mean i love izuku but hes just a good friend to me! Like a brother, we’ve been friends for a while now and im sure you can tell by the way hes so positive hes a pretty good friend.” You say chuckling softly, looking at rody.
He nods, “yeah he seems like a good guy huh, dont worry i was just teasing ya, glad you’re not together though, gives me a chance to tell you how beautiful i think you are.” He said looking back and sending you a small wink.
You blush and turn your face away again, “ah well thank you!” You said quickly, not really knowing how to answer him.
He flashes you a smirk and a nod, “well we should go to bed, im sure youll need the energy for tomorrow.” He said, putting his head on his hands as he moved his knees closer to his chest.
“Yeah.. goodnight rody.” You say with a smile, admiring how good he looked with the moonlight shining down on him.
“Goodnight y/n..” he said, with a small smile now, closing his eyes. You felt a sudden warm feeling in your chest and closed your eyes, trying to ignore the feeling.
_
You woke up the next morning to a loud sound of a truck running, you opened your eyes and looked around seeing izuku and rody both gone. You had a confused expression on your face and stood up, deciding to follow the noise.
To your surprise you saw both izuku and rody talking, “hey, whats this?..” you said, rubbing your eyes.
“Sorry did i wake you?” Rody said looking at you as he walked a bit closer, you yawned and shook your head, “its fine, i shouldve been up by now anyway.” You said stretching your arms a little.
“Hey y/n, i just woke up too seems like we have a ride now, im going to get the suitcase really quick, be right back!” Izuku said as he goes back to get the suitcase.
Rody opened the car door and stepped to the side, “ladies first.” He said, with a playful smirk that you chuckle at before climbing into the car.
He smiles and gets in himself as you both see izuku running up and getting in, he starts the car, squishing you as you sit in between them both.
You groan and blush a little when you turn your head seeing how close you were to rody, you close your mouth and look straight as to not make a big deal out of it.
You ended up falling asleep in the car ride as rody and izuku talked, still feeling a bit tired from the previous day, you didnt even realize your head on rodys shoulder until you woke up later on.
“Finally awake huh?” Rody said giving you a quick smile, going back to pay attention to the road. You straightened up and nodded, “yeah sorry, i mustve moved alot.” You said flustered at the thought of how you had slept on him, he didnt seem to mind though.
“Its okay, you look cute while sleeping so ill let it pass.” He says teasingly, you nodded slowly, freaking out on the inside, only hearing izukus small laughs.
You give him a quick look that shuts him up but sneakily snickers once you turn your head straight again.
The next few days were full of some tiny accidents but mostly just hanging out with eachother and talking, even almost getting recognized by a gas station worker, thankfully rody distracted the guy in time to not notice.
During these days you had managed to learn alot about rody, getting closer to the sweet charming boy. He was cute alright, but you didnt think anything would work out since his priorities were strictly on his siblings, but for now you thought this little crush wasnt so bad to keep to yourself.
One night rody was helping deku patch up his injuries again as you helped with the small fire, you were really focused until you heard izuku say something that had interested you aswell, “what about you? Do you have a quirk? Ive been wondering.” He said with another smile.
“Yeah do you? Ive also been pretty curious about that.” You said, finally getting the fire up, you jumped excitedly and sat down next to it to warm your hands up.
Rody made a face while finishing up “I dont wanna talk about it.” He said hiding his face, embarrassed, “oh, sorry!..” izuku said turning back around, you looked at the boy curious as to why he would be embarrassed to say if he had one or not, but you didnt say anything as to not push him, understanding that not everyone likes to talk about quirks.
“You guys wont laugh right?..” he said, izuku turned around quickly, “i promise!” Rody then glanced at you, “Really?” You shook your head, “id never laugh at that!” You said with a serious look, “we swear!”
Rody sighs, his cheeks a little pink, “okay.. its kind of weird..” he says, giving in, “you may think im joking but its pino..” he said as the small pink bird started chirping appearing on top of his head, then turning around hiding her face clearly embarrassed. “Her actions show my true intentions..” he said looking up at pino.
“Really?” Izuku said looking at pino fascinated, he was always like that with everyone quirk so you smiled at this, knowing how excited he always was to learn about somebodys quirk. “No matter how good i am at lying, pino always gives away my true feelings..” he says blushing again, “honestly its not much of a quirk..” he said again holding pino in his hands.
“Dont say that! I think your quirk is cool, and pinos pretty adorable too!” You say smiling as you scooted closer, trying to pet pino instead seeing her curled up in rodys hands, shy.
You chuckle at this and shake your head, smiling. “I think its a wonderful quirk too! I find everyones quirks to be super cool since their all pretty unique!” izuku says smiling.
Rody nods, still a bit shy, “thanks guys..” he says chuckling. You smile at him and nod, “we should get to bed, im sure that by tomorrow we’ll make it by the border.” You said, wrapping your arms around yourself to be warm.
- *lil skip*
Once you had made it to the border izuku checked it out, noticing how heavily guarded it was, “seems we wont make it past the guards without a fight, looks like we’ll have to go up.” You nod, agreeing as izuku tells rody to get on his back.
“Deku take this.” Rody says as he hands over the suitcase, you and izuku looked at him with confused expressions on eachothers face, “whats the deal?” izuku said, “you wont be able to carry me with that injury from the arrow, this is where i say goodbye.” He said looking at the both of you with a smile on his face, “hold on, the trucks out of gas! We cant leave you alone at a place likes this?!” You said concerned, also feeling a bit disappointed, you didnt want to go your seperate ways so soon.
The small crush you had on rody was only supposed to stay like that, but after hanging out with him and getting to know him for a couple of days you had started realizing that the feelings you had for him were more than just a small school girl crush.
“Guys come on you know how fast i can run at a pinch, ill scrounge up some food and ill wait for you both.” He said with a slight smirk, shrugging. “Go figure out whats up with this case, thats what we’re here for after all.” He said handing it to you.
“But rody..” you said staring at him a bit sad, izuku also looking at him a bit upset, “Im counting on you heroes.” He said, izuku nodding firmly and walked over to him going to take the suitcase from rodys hands while you stood there a bit shocked.
The loud sound of a helicopter coming close took your attention away as you looked up at the sky staring at it. You spot the same lady ready to shoot an arrow with a man standing behind her, your eyes open wide but it seems as though izuku noticed she shot the arrow, using his quirk to move you both out of the way again.
You gasp as you used your own quirk to make big crystals to block the arrows from hitting you. You let out an annoyed groan noticing that she started shooting something that turned into big boulders, causing you to lose balance.
“Oh damnit their going to flatten us!” You heard rody say, you pressed your lips together trying to creat a bigger crystal to provide some shield but it was no use as she just kept dropping more, not giving you enough time.
You see izuku use his quirk again kicking the helicopter away, causing the force to push it back, crashing it but also pushing you, izuku and rody back.
You hit the ground, groaning as you got up, “god that hurt!” You said wiping the rocks and dirt off of you, looking around seeing izuku standing up as well, “rody are you okay?” You heard him yell back.
“Yeah maybe.. oh no the case!” He said looking around, trying to spot it. Once he does he bolts towards it, hearing another yell shortly after, “Rody look out!” izuku says as some big boulders crash close to him, “rody!” you yell out with wide eyes as you see them knock him away.
He manages to grab the suitcase but you dont see him anywhere in sight, “ah shit, rody!” You say worriedly, running over to find him.
“Deku catch it!” He says throwing the suitcase over as izuku ran over to catch it but getting close to being hit by an arrow, you see rody fall as you let out a yell, “Oh my god Rody!” You say running towards him, tears filling the brim of your eyes as you try to shoot out a big crystal only for it to not work.
You see a bunch of ice wrap around the big man, then circling back to get rody back up, “that ice..” izuku says, “its todoroki!” You yell out, then seeing him run out of the way, bakugo also using his quirk, aiming it at the helicopter.
It went by quick but you decide to instead see if rody was okay, you run up and embrace him into a big hug, “are you okay?!” You say worried, checking him for any injuries. He looks shocked at the scene and just nods slowly not really taking your words in.
“I was so wor-“ your words got cut off at the big crash of the helicopter then seeing the woman falling, you were in disbelief yourself so you didn’t expect rody to be any better.
Izuku ran over to you both, making sure everyone was alright, “yeah but im not sure how..” rody said looking at the ground, gasping and looking around, “where is it?!” He said, then hearing shoto come up with the briefcase.
“thanks todoroki, but how did you find us?” Izuku said, “well thanks to their flashy attacks we spotted you from the train, is he the one you were talking about on the phone?” He said with a calm demeanor, “yeah, his name is rody soul, they’re also calling him a criminal just like us.” You said trying to keep yourself calm.
“Yeah thanks for the assist!” Rody said with a flashy smile, before jumping at bakugos unexpected yelling that you have all gotten used to by now.
You noticed izuku staring at the bottom of the briefcase, seeing a small compartment open up, “hey look!” He said grabbing it. You looked around and decided it would be better to be protected incase of another attack.
You stood up moving a bit closer and crouched down, placing your hands down onto the ground building a large crystal with a color similar to the rocks, shielding you all from any possible attacks.
You grunted at the feeling it left behind in your palms, wiping them on your shirt to get rid of it then standing up and walking back over to see them trying to figure out a little puzzle that was supposedly in the little compartment.
“Hand it over, ill blow it up!” You heard bakugo say, frustrated already with the small puzzle. You rolled your eyes smacking the back of his head, “you cant do that idiot! Its a puzzle for a reason, there must be something important inside.” You said huffing, ignoring whatever he was yelling at in response to you.
You see rody handling the puzzle then somehow being able to solve it, “rody thats amazing! Howd you do that?” You said looking at him in awe as shoto and izuku figure out what the little pieces inside are.
“I did a puzzle like this before when i was a kid.” He said, flashing you a big smile and oh how you loved it.
You blushed nodding, “thats cool! I dont think id be able to wrap my head around a difficult puzzle like that.” You said, walking a bit closer to him, “its simple once you learn its tricks..” he said in a soft tone, inspecting the small puzzle carefully.
-
Once everyone was in the air and gearing up you glanced over at rody that was focused on flying, you put on the last set of your support gadgets that you had gotten for your suit and waited, admiring how helpful rody was being. Also the fact that pino was chirping happily showed you that he was pretty excited but also nervous about flying, you were just happy that he finally got to live out his dream even if it wasnt in the best situation.
“Thats it the base, going in for a landing, brace yourselves!” Rody said turning his head a little to look at everyone.
“No Rody you turn back.” Izuku said pressing the button to open the door, “Extras like you should stay out of the way.” Bakugo said following right behind him, “He has a point.” Todoroki said agreeing, you rolled your eyes and gave rody a frown, “Sorry rody but this is very dangerous, please get back safe alright?” You said, getting ready to go aswell.
You didnt wait for his response as everyone had already jumped down, you took a deep breath in and jumped aswell, making sure to stay straight as you shot out big crystals, shielding yourself from the attacks of the Humarise soldiers.
You shot out many big and sharp crystals taking down a couple of soldiers before landing down, making another crystal in the shape of a slide to keep you from injuring yourself at the landing. (Sorry if it doesnt make sense guys, use ur imagination the best u can 😣)
You got swooped up by todoroki as he was also holding deku with him, you let out a small gasp since you didnt expect it but you didnt complain, wanting to help in any way you could.
Todoroki used his ice to go over some of the soldiers but you all soon got hit by some lasers that broke the ice, causing you to fall on izuku, “sorry!” you said, a little hurt from the fall, but helping each other up “Todoroki!” Izuku yelled out, calling for him.
“You guys go on ahead as fast as you can!” He said, shooting out some fire, aiming it at the soldiers that were all rushing in quick.
You nodded, following behind izuku, using your quirk to get some of the soldiers out of the way as did izuku.
He knocked down the door and walked in, you peeked a little before following behind him, “seems empty.. something doesnt feel right zuku..” you mumbled, getting an uneasy feeling in your stomach.
He looked around and noticed a door, “the trigger bomb controls should be around there, lets go!” he said running, you were about to go until a laser shot at his feet, “how dare you, this is not a place where someone so diseased should step foot.” A man said, slowly walking out.
You glared at the man, “this must be the leader..” you thought as you stood ready in case of anything.
The man was still talking but you were completely focused on the fact that the room was starting to board up. You let out a small gasp, turning around to see the whole room boarded up before hearing, “Ill stop your trigger bomb if its the last thing i do!” you turned around quickly seeing izuku lunge forward, towards the man.
“Deku wait!” you yelled out, then seeing him getting thrown back, you raised your hands shooting a couple of crystals at him, only to see them shoot back at you.
Your eyes opened wide as you dodged some, only getting scraped a little by a couple on your arm. “What the?..” you said, in shock.
The man went on to speak about have the ‘disease’ himself, saying that his quirk reflects everything he comes in contact with, which helped you figure out why your crystals bounced back at you.
You see izuku keep on attacking, only to get his attacks reflected back onto him, “deku!” You said running over to him, helping him up.
“His quirk, every punch or kick or whatever you try will only reflect back at you!” You said helping him wipe off some of the dust and rocks.
“We’ll run, avoid him completely!” Izuku said, as you nodded and both started running to the door, the time starting to run out.
Out of no where many lasers had started to appear, one badly injuring your left side and arm. You groaned out in pain, using your right to hold your side, you then hear a yelp from izuku alerting you that he had also been injured.
You try moving but end up falling onto the ground clutching your arm and side, “i have to keep going.. i.. cant let rody down, my friends and family...” You thought as tears pricked your eyes, you had realized how important his siblings were to him and they were in the area of a bomb, you didnt want anything bad to happen to him either.
You noticed the blue man distracted so you used your left hand to shoot out some crystals, hoping that the angle you were shooting them from would work, although you ducked your head as you saw them reflecting back towards you. Hitting your body as you let out some screams.
You looked over at izuku and saw all the blood pooling next to him, he stood up looking in your direction, “y/n!” He said worriedly, you gave him a thumbs up, not wanting him to worry about you right now, he turned back after giving you a small nod to look at the man.
You couldnt quite hear anything the man was saying, nor deku, just the screaming in pain was all that you could hear and It terrified you.
You knew you had to do something so with all the strength you had in you, you tried using your right arm to lift you up, only to fall back down, you let out a groan and tried your best to move across the room, only being able to push yourself slowly.
You glance to your side seeing rody holding deku as blood gushed out, “r-rody?” You said with wide eyes, confused and worried. He looked at you for a second, then giving you a genuine smile, “its fine now y/n, deku. Dont you worry.” You tried to move again but only winced in pain, “you.. have to run.” Izuku said in a low voice.
“I will, once i hand this over to the blue guy.” He said, holding the deactivation key, you look at him in disbelief, then laying izuku down softly, “know that i am sorry, but they said they’d stop the Otheon explosion if i helped them out.”
“N-No…” you mumbled, trying to push yourself closer to rody leaving a trail of your blood on the ground, “Dont do this, if we work together we can stop him and help everyone, please!” Izuku said trying to get up, groaning in pain.
“How are we going to stop him if you’re both all messed up? Times almost up, the bombs are going to explode its game over..” rody said shrugging, “No!” You shout out, he looks a little bit over his shoulder with a blank face.
“Atleast im going to protect my family.. i can do that much.” He said, starting to walk up. You couldnt believe your eyes, as they started clouding up with tears. You heard rody speak but everything was looking and sounding foggy.
Was this how it ended? Your heart was starting to hurt more than any of the injuries you currently had, feeling betrayed by the boy you had started to grow big and real feelings for.
“Sorry heroes but this is how it all ends.” You hear rody say with a calm voice, you looked up wincing again in pain, “thats life, people get betrayed, if its any condolence it happened to me too.” He said turning his head back to the blue man, “nothing to cry about.” He said, going to hand the key over.
You and izuku both look at him in disbelief, “rody no..” you said, until you saw that little pink bird in his hoodie shaking her head, it took you by surprise but you used up all the strength in you to stand up.
You looked to your side seeing izuku up aswell, you saw rody flip up the key, then running out of the way, izuku kicking the blue man in the face. “Y/n!” Rody said as he ran over to you, pino grabbing the key quickly as she had it in her mouth.
“Seems like the plans working huh pino!” He said happily before you hear the man yell angrily and you see the lasers again, you pushed rody out of the way quickly, “Run! Ill cover myself, go!” You said shooting some crystals at the lasers to break them, izuku doing the same.
As you shot most of them one suddenly turned back on hitting rody on his right side, “No!” Izuku said, rushing over to use his quirk on the man, you stared at rody as he was spread out on the floor, you yelled out, running up the stairs and over to him, “rody!” You said kneeling down to his side, trying your best to help him up.
You both look over and see izuku getting pushed into the ground, “oh shit.. deku! Dont you dare die you kick his ass!” Rody said as you both held onto eachother, “ ill stop the bombs, you- you take him down hero!” He said holding the key up.
“You got this rody!” you said, and he nodded giving you a quick hug, he winced a little, leaning on the wall, “i wont hold you back, i believe in you rody!” you said, “be safe y/n, you really are a gem. You got this hero!” He said giving you one last smile, starting to walk towards the room.
You smiled at his words, nodding and grabbing your side making your way down next to izuku. As he threw a punch you lifted your right hand getting ready to try and block the reflection only for it to come back so quickly, knocking both you and izuku down.
He stood back up, ready for another but you fell onto your knees gasping for air, panicking as you saw the room starting to go dark and fuzzy. “You got this deku, beat him!” You said before mumbling a curse word hoping that rody makes it in time, “i cant give up.. not now..” you thought, trying to stay awake but instead getting knocked out cold.
-
You opened your eyes to find yourself in a bright room, you blinked a couple times before realizing you had made it to the hospital. Your eyes filled with happy tears seeing that rody did it, he saved everyone.
You tried to sit up but winced a little, “y/n! You’re awake!” Deku said, going over to you, “how are you feeling?” He said with a worried expression, you chuckled and shook your head, “im fine izuku feels like i barely got a scratch, wheres rody?” You said jokingly but glancing around the room, he pointed at the bed on the other side and sure enough there he was with his arms wrapped around two little kids.
“Im assuming that roro and lala?” you said chuckling, smiling and staring at the cute sight in front of you, you moved your legs to the side getting off and walking over to the boys bed.
“Hey hero.” You said smiling at him, getting a bit closer to the bed, “gem!” He said excitedly, “im so glad you’re awake.” He said, sitting up more to hug you.
You moved forward and accepted his hug sighing in relief, once you pulled back you noticed the little kids staring at you, youre face turning red in embarrassment, “im so sorry for not introducing myself! My name is Y/n L/n! Or you could call me gem if thats easier!” you said, giving the two kids a nervous smile, chuckling.
Rody looked at his sibling and nodded at them, “this is my friend, you can say hello..” he said telling them that it was okay.
Your heart dropped a little at the word friend but you shook it off, knowing that you werent really anything, reminding yourself that he was a good friend, that you maybe had feelings for…
You talked with his siblings getting along pretty easily with them, you could totally see why rody loved them, they were adorable!
After a while you had sat on the edge of rodys bed making small crystals in fun shapes for the kids. Your moment got cut short when izuku interrupted with some bad news, “Hey y/n, i meant to tell you but we’re supposed to be leaving tomorrow, your stuffs all packed and everything ready to go.” He said, and you nodded before he walked away.
“Well.. ill let you rest.” You said to rody, standing up from the bed, he looked at you like he was gonna say something but instead he just mumbled out a “Yeah okay.. thanks for being so nice to my siblinga and well…. to me.” He said with a genuine smile, a faint blush spread across cheeks.
You chuckled, nodding “of course, dont worry rody their good kids, and very adorable. Goodnight now.” You said giving him a smile as you returned to your bed.
You let out a sigh once you got in bed, closing your eyes to rest.
_
You were at the airport already on your way to board the plane with the rest of the heroes as you walked talking with izuku, a small frown on your face as you told him how you didnt want to leave already.
He chuckled and teased you knowing about your crush on rody since you werent really good at hiding it, you were about to respond until you heard a little chirp.
You turned around seeing pino and rody, waving. Your face lit up in shock but also feeling extremely happy that youd see him one last time before going home.
“Rody!” You and izuku said, walking over to him, “we didnt think youd be out so soon!” Izuku said smiling, “eh they said i was good to head back home.” Rody said with a shrug and a smirk.
“Glad to hear it.” You said giving him a smile,”althoughh.. if i had died stopping those bombs i would have become a total legend!” He said jokingly, “thats a morbid thing to say!” Izuku said before you all heard a loud “HA!” coming from bakugo.
You all bursted out laughing before letting izuku have his final chat with him, meanwhile you remembered something and grabbed a small piece of paper, scribbling your number on it and then stuffing it back into your pocket.
Once you had seen that they were finished talking you walked back over and looked at izuku before he chuckled and waved goodbye, walking away to give you space.
You took a deep breath in and smiled at rody, “ill miss you alot…” you said, your smile turning a bit sad. He shook his head and embraced you into another big hug, “yeah i will too but do me a solid and stick to Japan okay? Nothing good seems to happen when you heroes are here.” He said, calmly. You stepped back and looked at pino, seeing how her eyes were all teary and sad.
“Ill come back for sure then. I swear..” you said smiling, “theres something i also have to tell you.” You both said at the same time, you blushed and looked to the side before giggling, “you go first.” He said with a chuckle, “well.. meeting you was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me rody, i mean it. I hope this doesnt cross any boundaries but if im being honest these past few days i caught really enjoying your company, so i guess what id like to say is.. well, i like you!…” you said looking down, your face now completely red, “thought id get it out now instead of holding that in.” You said letting out a sigh.
He grabbed your cheeks and pushed your head up to look at him, “I do too y/n.. look im not the type of guy to really care for people but i have definitely gotten really close to you, and well even liking you too.” He said, also a bit shy now.
You chuckled, hearing the intercom call out the name of your flight, you sighed and reached in your pocket, “here, my number incase you ever want to get a hold of me.” You say handing it to him, he takes it and gives you a smile placing it in his pocket.
You quickly take your right hand and make a small pink crystal in the shape of a heart, “andd maybe a little something… so you dont forget me alright?” You said chuckling, feeling the heat in your cheeks spread out onto your whole face.
He took the crystal placing that into his pocket too before looking into your eyes and leaning in closer to you, your heart stopped a little as you leaned in placing your lips onto his. The moment felt unreal, you had definitely felt sparks and you were so ready to tell the girls back at UA about this.
The kiss was short but sweet and filled with a lot of emotion but you had broken it, hearing the last call for your plane, “i should really get going now.” You said biting your lip.
He nodded and gave you one last hug, “ill see you soon gem.” He said with a sad smile, you nodded and pet pinos head, “dont miss me too much mkay?” You said smiling at him, “ill try.” He said with a playful smirk giving you one last kiss.
You definitely didnt expect to fall in love on this mission but you also dont regret it. Youd be back to visit the boy from Otheon the soonest you could, maybe even bring a couple of gifts for him and his siblings too. Doesnt matter, all you know is that you’ll be waiting for the day that youll be in his arms again.

tuna fish
Rhody Soul didn’t have much to smile about. His mom was dead, and his dad abadoned them, and he was stuck caring for his younger siblings. He loved them dearly, but was burdened by too much responsibility when he was only a kid himself, and it bothered him that he couldn’t give them the life the deserved. They deserved better than a trailer on the wrong side of town, but that was all Rhody could afford.
Nobody would give him legitimate work, so he was stuck doing unsavory work under the table. His jobs were frequent and low paying and he hated waking up everyday to be a crimminal. He hated leaving the trailer everymorning and kissing his siblings on the cheeks for what could have been the last time and going to work.
When he was younger he wanted to be a pilot, but now that idea seemed so childish. The only thing he had to look foreward to was the pretty girl he saw on the way to work. Her name was Y/N, and she worked in the sandwich shop a few blocks from the bar. She was one of the only people he could remember that still smiled at him, and he often more times than not smiled at him.
And after a long day at work, he would stroll into the sandwich shop and sit at the counter. And everyday he would sit with his elbow at the counter and his palm in his hand to smile at her. Every day he would ask the same question.
“ How’s the tuna?”
“ Same as yesterday, shitty,” she would always respond.
And everyday he would scarf down a tuna fish sandwich on white bread, even though it tasted awful and take the long walk back home. Everyday he thought he would come up with the courage to ask her out, but everyday he actively thought against it. Y/N was too good for him, she was too sweet, to kind to be with his cruelty. She would turn him down, or worse never smile at him again, and he wasn’t sure if he could get through the day without her smile.
Rhody Soul wasn’t quite sure how a day that started off so well, took a horrible turn. It was supposed to be a normal job, but he somehow found himself thrust into a situation that he couldn’t control. He was now in possession of a briefcase that belonged to a group terrorists who set to kill nearly everybody in the world.
His only companion was a green haired hero named Deku, who had a hero complex and a morality streak, but he still found himself liking Deku. He was nice in a way that other kids his age weren’t, and displayed true heroics unlike the heroes from his town. They only protected the rich, and he wasn’t rich so they didn’t protect him or his family. Deku seemed to be a hero for the right reasons, he just wanted to do the right thing in a way that was so honest Rhody couldn’t fault him. And then, after Rhody made a stupidly rash decision despreate to get home, Deku took a arrow for him.
Rhody nearly sick with guilt attempted to patch Deku up the best he could. Why Deku saved him, Rhody didn’t understand, but the only thing he knew now as that he had to return the favor. The two talked, about their lives back home.
“ Who is she?” Deku asked with a smile. Rhody just finished telling him about his sister and brother, but a smile glanced across his face at the name he couldn’t mention.
“ What?”
“ By the way you’re smiling I assume it’s a girl… or a boy?” Deku asked.
“ I-” he hesitated, but then he decided he could trut Deku, and he realized that what he wanted more than anything was to talk about her, tell someone about the greatness of her smile or the brilliance behind her eyes. “ Her name is Y/N, she works at the sandwich shop a few doors down. I keep meaning to ask her out, but chicken out everytime.”
“ Why?”
“ She’s the prettiest woman I’ve ever seen. I go to her sandwich shop every day and order a tuna sandwich just because it seems to amuse her, even though it was the worst thing on the menu. Everyday I wake up, and the only thing that could get me out of that trailer was the hope that I could see her, even if it was only for a minute. And talking to her makes me smile, even on the bad days, the days that I hate my dad, and the days that I miss my mom, or when I get overwhelmed with the kids, she was just always there and made me feel better.”
“ Why won’t you ask her out then? You seem to like her.”
“ I do like her,” Rhody admitted. He liked her alot, he liked her more than he knew what to do with. “ I just don’t want to ruin our friendship, she’s one of the best things in my life and I don’t want to lose her.” Rhody said. “ I mean I keep meaning to, but I never had a reason to. Maybe after all this is over I can tell her how I feel,” he said. He waved his arms, motioning to the cave around them. “ This whole situation gave me perspective.”
Y/N watched helplessly as Rhody was apprehended by the police and then shot at when he didn’t comply. She called him as many times and left about 60 voicemails before his voicemail was full and texted him as many times as her phone plan allowed. Worry gnawed at her insides, and she nearly made herself sick over it.  Two days of complete radio silence, after he was believed to be a suspect in a terriost attack, she couldn’t help but think the worst. That he was dead, and she would never get the chance to hear his contaigous laugh again, and that she never got the chance to go on a date with him.
Everyday he came into her little sandwich shop on the corner and ate the worst thing on the menu. And everyday she made poor attempts to flirt with him, but he seemed generally unreceptive. One day she found herself looking forward to him stopping by during dinner, and waiting for him to order the shit tuna sandwhich and make flirty small talk.
Two days later she got a phone call from a unnamed number, and for some reason she answered it. By the sound of it, it sounded like a teenage boy, and she almost hung up believing it was a sick prank call, but then she was told something that she couldn’t help but believe. After two days of thinking her favorite person was dead, the hope that he might be alive was too much to ignore.
She found Deku waiting outside the hospital, he smiled wide at the sight of her. She was every bit as pretty as Rhody described, and seemed just as sweet. She brought him a bouquet of flowers, and was shaking with nerves.
Deku showed her to the room and she nearly burst into tears. Rhody had a successful surgery, and was off the ventalitor but was stilla attached to tubes and wires. His skin was pale and his hair was limp against the pillow. It was hard for Deku to see him like that and he only knew Rhody for a week, so he could only imagine what it was like for the girl who spent every dinner with him for the past two years.
Deku helped her to the chair sitting next to her bed, and asked the nurses for a container for the water. Deku pulled up a chair next to her to wait. The doctors told him, that while medically he was still okay, he was still in a coma, and there was no telling when he would wake up, or even if he would wake up at all.
“ Do Roro and Lala know?” she asked quietly.
“ Yes, there with hero’s until we can find a better situation for them. They said that theres an aunt they’re looking for, trying to keep them out of the system and keep them together if we can help it.”
“ That’s good,” she said quietly. Her fingers stroked the hair out of Rhodys face, flinching at the coldness of his skin.
“ He told me about you,” Deku spoke suddenly, Y/N looked up at him, and blinked away the tears. “Yeah, he talked about you alot, told me all about the tuna sandwiches.”
“ He tell you they were shit?”
“ Yeah, didn’t stick around for the sandwiches, he stuck around for you.” Deku said.
“ He did what?”
“ He wanted to ask you out but never got the chance,” Deku said quietly. “ Thought he would want you to know, in case…” his voice dropped off, not wanting to state the obvious, that Rhody might never get the chance, that he might die very soon.
She stuttered something, then let herself fall forward on the bed. Her forehead resting on his forearm as she struggled to breathe against the stale hospital comforter. She fell asleep soon after, tears tired her to exhaustion, and days of worried adrenaline finally faded and she collapsed into exhaustion.
Hours later she woke up on  the cot on the other side of the room. Someone jammed an IV in her arm. The sound of a laugh woke her up with a start, and when she rolled over to look at the bed, she saw a sight that made her smile. Rhody was sitting upright, poking at lime jello and talking to Deku.
“ Rhody?”
“ Hi,” he whispered in her direction. “ Heard you were worried about me,” he said cockily.
“ I hate you,” she said half heartdly. The hope of his recovery was almost too much for her to believe in, but here he was upright and otherwise fine, and it took everything in her not to throw herself over him and cry. Doing that would be decidedly uncool.
“ No you don’t,” he smiled.
“ I’m glad you’re okay.”
“ I figured,” he said.
She walked to the side of his bed and stood bedside. She wanted to slap him across the face for worrying her but could only smile.
“ Can I kiss you,” she asked softly.
Rhody looked at her incrediously. “ Excuse me?”
“ Since you are such a moron who can’t tell a shit tuna sandwhich from flirting, I’m being very obvious. I like you Rhody, I’ve liked you for a year and a half, now are you gonna let me kiss you, or is your heart gonna stop when I do?”
Rhody could only nod, his voice trapped somewhere in his lungs. He was to baffled to believe what he heard. She had been flirting with him for a year and a half and he was too much of a dense idiot to notice. She leaned down and pressed her lips to his, you would think with all the time he thought about kissing her, he would be more prepared for what it felt like. The kiss felt like safety and home and trust and everything he lost when his dad left, and reminded him of everything he wanted to keep close.

Hellooo! Could you please write for the boys where the reader is sick but doesn't tell them bcs she doesn't wanna bother them?? I love your your blog sm 💙💙
HIDING YOUR SICKNESS ! reader doesn't wanna bother her boyfriend
with izuku, bakugo, rody + fem!reader (pro hero era)
notes thanks for the request anon !!
you: hey i don't think i can make our date tonight... i'm sorry, something came up
he frowned when he got the text. he pinched the bridge of his nose and his overthinking kicked in. you'd been distancing yourself a lot recently... between you spending all your time at someone else's place, having to postpone dates, and his hero work, you barely got to see each other.
he was worried. he pressed the call button and waited for you to pick up.
IZUKU
"hello? y/n?"
you folded from the concern in his voice. he was always going to be worried about you, no matter what you tried to do.
"izuku..." you rasped and you could tell he was taken aback.
"what's wrong, honey?" he said softly. "you don't sound too good..."
you bit your lip. oh, what the hell. he was going to find out anyway. "i'm just a little sick, that's all. i can handle—"
"sick?!" izuku exclaimed and you shied away from his volume. "my love, you should have told me."
"no, it's really okay—"
"how long have you felt this way? is this why you've been postponing our dates? where are you right now?" he ignored your protests and rambled on with more questions for a bit. you weakly answered them all.
"okay, sweetheart, i'm on my way." you could hear him huffing as you assumed he leapt across rooftops. "stay on call..."
a burden was lifted off your shoulders, and the relief made you fall asleep right then and there.
later—though how much later, you didn't know—you blinked the sleep out of your eyes. groaning, you stretched your arms and propped your body up with your elbows.
"oh, you're awake. lay down, love."
you tuned into izuku's voice, squinting through your daze. he was sitting at your bedside, a wet rag in his hand. he shushed you when you tried to ask him all your questions, gently laying the rag across your forehead and kissing your heated cheek.
"you had a fever, honey." izuku hummed, pulling the chair closer to the bed and leaning over the side. "you shouldn't have been under all those stuffy blankets."
you frowned and looked around. the windows were open, the curtains flowing as fresh air filtered in. it was true, you did feel a little less suffocated.
you pursed your lips, feeling guilty. "i'm sorry."
he was absolutely bewildered. "what could you possibly be sorry for?"
you sniffed, rubbing your eyes. "you were at work, right? and..."
izuku softened, stroking your temples with understanding. "it's never an issue for me to take care of you, love. don't be sad. just relax and let me handle everything, okay? i'm here now, to take care of you."
BAKUGO
"where are you and why have you been avoiding my calls?"
you pressed your lips into a thin line. straight to the point, as usual. "i'm... i'm staying at a friend's for the time being." you tried to speak evenly, without any tiredness.
you heard bakugo sigh deeply. "what's the matter, baby? and don't think about hidin' anything from me."
you groaned internally, letting your head drop against the mattress. you mumbled.
"what was that?"
you flared up, heat overwhelming your body. "i'm sick! okay?! i'm so sick right now."
he didn't respond.
you sighed. "i didn't want you to catch anything or worry about it. i can handle it and i'll be back in no time."
he scoffed. "fuck that. i'm coming to get you."
"kat, really—?!"
"yes, really!" you heard faint explosions in the background. "seriously, thinking you can recover on your own when you can't even speak properly." he chuckled.
you wanted to retort, but your throat burned. hmph, you thought. you let yourself drift asleep, feeling comforted.
later, you woke up in his bed to the sound of clanking pots in the kitchen. brows furrowed, you groaned as you stretched, your body buzzing after you let yourself drop into the plush mattress once more.
bakugo peeked into the room. "you're up. good. you need to eat." with an apron on, he placed an assortment of dishes in front of you; soup, fruits, and some cough drops for later.
you sat up a little, startled when his hand pressed against your forehead.
"you have a fever." he shook his head, disappointed. "you probably made it a little worse, isolating yourself under all those sheets. you were overheated when i got you."
you pouted, taking a sip of water.
he craned his neck to meet your eyes, thinking you'd be relieved being home and in his care. you clearly had something on your mind. "baby..." he held your hand. "jus' tell me what's on your mind."
you met his eyes briefly before looking away. "i... didn't want you to miss work for this."
"this matters more than paperwork." he rolled his eyes, a soft smile on his face. he squeezed your hands. "just eat up and rest up. i'll handle everything else."
RODY
"y/n?"
"nope!" his little sister, lala, chirped. "it's me!"
during his last layover, he hadn't been getting much of a response from you. he trusted you with everything, but he was worried. now that he was back in otheon, he was ready to figure out what the hell was going on.
he chuckled at his sister. you must've given her your phone to play her favorite game. "hey, lala. where's y/n, do you know?"
"she's sleeping now." rody could hear her breathing as she pattered over to where he assumed you were laying down. "sleeping like a log."
"yeah?" rody responded, deep in thought. it wasn't like you to sleep while looking after his siblings, so he knew something was wrong. "what was she doing before she fell asleep?"
"uhhh... she made lunch for us?" lala sniffed. "i feel bad, though."
rody's eyebrows creased, tugging a suitcase behind him as he unconsciously walked faster. "why's that?"
"she's got a mask on, and she doesn't want us too close to her..." lala sighed. "and she's burning up."
rody put the pieces together. he raced to the carpark and zoomed on home, bursting through the door.
the loud noise startled you out of your slumber, sitting upright. the abrupt motion made you dizzy and you groaned. lala pat your shoulder, concerned.
rody dropped his suitcase to the ground, kneeling at your side. slipping off his gloves, he pressed his hand to the side of your neck.
"seriously, babe, you should've told me when you started feeling off." he frowned, bustling about to grab you the things you needed. "i could've left any time."
your eyes were glassy when you looked at him, and he felt his heart twisting. "m'sorry," you mumbled from behind the mask. "i didn't want to bother you..."
he scoffed and pulled the mask off your face, squishing your cheeks. he looked you square in the eye. though he was scolding you, he was so soft and gently. "you never bother me. all i think about is you, lala, and roro. i want to know everything you're feeling, no matter what."
you smiled, looking lopsided as your face was still in his hands. "okay."
he grinned and kissed you.
"ugh!" you recoiled, scooching away from him. "rody! you'll get sick!"
he crossed his arms, smiling. "and? we can be in that boat together."
you rolled your eyes. "oh my god."
"aw, don't be like that, baby." rody cuddled up next to you, peppering you with affection. "come on, let me take care of you."

╰┈➤🎕🥀Giulio Gandini
Whether he chose to admit it, you were always there in his new life, since the very beginning. You started off as something akin to a ghost, a passing figure within the halls of the Scervino family's mansion. Someone like him, taken in with the task of caring for the long since isolated daughter, the girl who seemed right out of some twisted fairy tale. Giulio had heard of you in passing, between the whispers of servants within the walls that praised you for your power. You made two, the two people who could make contact with the girl without risk of harm if you happened to be incompatible. He was a neutraliser while you were simply immune. Suddenly his burden was not only his to bear, another person who was able to make the girl feel normal, to feel human. Even if in the end he was the only one able to cure her, to lessen the inflictions of her own quirk, you still held more of an impact on the both than you could have imagined. He watched the simple things you did for the girl, braiding her hair in the early hours of the morning when requested before a long day, doing something as simple as holding her hand to remind her she wasn't alone. It was small, but he grew to admire you either way.
The shift in her mood was almost immediate, the girl who once cowered away from any form of contact now seeking out your touch. Even if it meant more work was loaded onto his schedule, he never found it in himself to complain as he watched you sit together on the balcony overhanging the garden. And soon Giulio began to care for you as well, pouring an extra cup of tea when he was to serve the younger girl, pushing the saucer towards you with a gentle smile. It was slow from there, the exchange of short spouts of words as you passed in the halls, in a world the two of you ruled on your own. It then became something more, hushed words lingering in the halls becoming long hours under the moonlight, sharing the tea he had diligently prepared in a comforting silence. Even if he couldn't read your mind, couldn't determine how much these meetings mattered to you, they meant the world to him.
It may have been something so simple, yet you never complained when he requested your presence in the late hours of the night, the only time he truly felt free. You spared him time each night, sitting in the dimly lit dining area and enjoying your warm drinks, away from the worries of the seizures that wracked the girl under his care. You were no longer a stranger, no longer a spirit in the back of his mind, instead you were a friend. A figure in his life that he could rely on for comfort, that he could rely on outside the Scervino family he had grown to love like his own. You were different. You never pitied him, never looked down on him and instead helped him move forward in life. Over the years of companionship, watching you remain ever so kind to everyone, Giulio started to fall for you. You had managed to break down the walls he initially piled up after the loss of his family, never becoming overwhelming despite the constant presence of you around him. It started as something small, a shift in his demeanour when you got a bit too close to him, heat rising to his flushed cheeks watching you interact with the people around you. To him you were like an angel, someone who felt so out of reach that he couldn't help but admire. He felt love, he loved Anna but for you his feelings were different, a need to have you close over simply being your protector. He never expected for his feelings to be reciprocated, but as you stood before him with a shaky hand offering him a single rose, he couldn't have been happier. It was rocky at times, your relationship struggling with his inability to leave the mansion at the risk of failing to fulfil but contract, but to him it was still perfect. You made it work, refined it over the months of affection, and it became something just as special. Instead of spending days out, walking together you both found comfort in each others brace under the night sky. Sharing the tea he had freshly prepared on the balcony, enjoying the distant shine of the stars. And after everything, he never gave up on you. A single night was all it took, a single night to collapse everything he had built in his life. The house he had grown attached to, the house that became his home, crumbling down in a matter of minutes. Flames surrounded the whole area, blood splattered across the rubble as he laid helpless, succumbing to the pain of his injuries.
Giulio could only watch helplessly as the girl he swore to protect was taken, her power taken advantage of as he couldn't do anything but promise to find her. To save her. After what felt like hours had passed, he finally managed to pull himself to stand, leaning his left against the crumbling wall as his remaining foot grew weak. The first body he recognised was that of his employer, Mr Scervino laying lifelessly amongst the ruins of his own home. He forced his body to move, forced himself to call out to you amongst the crumbling structure of the mansion. He could feel the warm rivers of crimson running down the right side of his face, eyelid screwed tightly shut as he struggled through the rubble, trying to find any signs of life. To hear the sound of your voice reply to his cries. But in the end it was hopeless, never finding you like you had simply vanished. Now it all made sense.
The sounds of a drawn out battle echoed throughout the enclosed walls of a false sky, his blood seeping into the blooming field of artificial flowers. His figure remained hunched, kneeling weakly before the person who shadowed over him. He ignored the calls of his name from the young hero who had helped him to this point, ignoring the mocking voice as Dark Might as he sat motionless. The blue light of his prosthetic eye had long extinguished, the orb falling dark as his crimson fell loosely around his shoulders.
His remaining eye met yours, yet you didn't spare him a second thought as you pressed the cold metal of the muzzle against his forehead. You still looked the same, your features matching the face he had long since burned into his memory, yet you weren't the same person he had grown to love. Your eyes held no remorse at the loaded weapon you pointed at him, vision hazy under the control of some cruel woman who found using you as a pawn amusing. There was no tremble in your hand, no hesitation in your actions as you remained trapped within a daydream. You had the power to end his life at the snap of a simple command, and you couldn't stop it. Giulio could feel the build up of tears as his vision began to blur, the sting in the back of his natural eye as his gaze never fell from your face. Your eyes no longer held the kind person he grew to love, simply being a husk of who he once knew under the manipulation of some sick woman.
The sound of movement within the gun fell upon his ears, his pleas failed to snap you out of the daze that trapped you, you remaining unwavering. Nothing left you, no apology, no declaration of hatred for his very existence.
And that made it hurt even more.
His right arm began to feel unnaturally heavy, the prosthetic limb he had grown accustomed to burning as a reminder that he could still stop this. it would only take a moment for the metallic limb to transform, to pull the trigger at you and finish the mission he had set for himself. He could still pull through and save Anna. Yet as he remained kneeling, his once upkept three piece suit that you had gifted him ripped beyond recovery, he couldn't bring himself to aim something that could harm you towards your figure, much less pull the trigger. Instead he sat awaiting his impending doom, the fate chosen for him at your hands as the mastermind behind your control uttered your next task. Memories began to surface in his mind, your first real interaction, your first kiss to your final night together spent under the stars. Giulio could hear the distant screams of the young hero who accompanied him, telling him to move and to finish his mission. To save Anna like he promised. Yet as he remained focused on you, focusing on the face he learnt to love, he couldn't help but accept that he had failed the contract entrusted to him. Meeting your eyes for the final time before the trigger was due to be pulled, he chose to give you a final loving smile, his sharp teeth glimmering in the artificial light of the construct as blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. His eyes fell closed, leaving the saving of Anna to the future heroes that brought him this far, accepting the end of his own possible future at your hands.
If this was his destiny, he was willing to wait for you in his next incarnation. Choosing to die with a smile, the very smile you loved until the end.
╰┈➤⚝🐤Rody Soul
You were his first friend, the only friend to stick by his side through everything. You were there as early as he could remember, a family friend about his age who he was forced to interact with. At first he didn't like you, didn't get why he had to play with some kid because his parents were friends with theirs. It started with you two in a room, staring at each other for different reasons. Distaste and curiosity. You had offered him something, a small toy he saw you enter the house with, taking it into his hands before dropping it and turning away. He could hear the small gasp you let out, the sound of your rushed footsteps to grab the plushie before brushing off potential dirt that corrupted the otherwise pristine fur. You watched him walk out, huffing something about how he didn't wanna play with some baby despite being the same age. All you could do was frown before following him out, moving to your parents and asking to go home blaming it on being tired.
Because even if he was mean, you still wanted to befriend him, as he was the first person your age that spared you a second glance. Even when he tried to push you away you stood strong, following him and trying to get though to him. He only opened up about one thing, his dreams of becoming a pilot, yet that was enough for you to stay encouraged. You wanted to befriend the boy who caught your interest, because at the end of the day everyone needed someone.
And you wanted to be that person.
Your friendship truly started around the age of 11, helping him care for his siblings after the loss of his mother. Your parents were more than happy to let you visit the boy each day, knowing he'd be lonely with the long hours his father worked and the stress of watching the little kids each day. Rody never wanted to admit it, but he appreciated your constant attempts at forming a friendship, never giving up even when he acted like he hated you. He was just scared, and you never gave up on him.
He could remember the times when you were both younger, running around the front garden of his house with the neighbourhood kids, the small girl strapped to his back as he held his toy plane up high. To the sky as he would say, like he would be one day flying a plane of his own.
He remembered watching you sometimes, holding his younger sister so he could play without fear of hurting the girl if he was to fall, the small bundle sleeping in your arms as you sat in the grass. Sometimes he found himself joining you, talking to you as the other boys ran around continuing their own little game. It clicked to him how that was the first thing that made you closer than anyone else.
Rody had eventually opened up about his quirk, finally explaining the small pink bird that clung to him, the very bird that often nuzzled against your cheek after a long day together. He didn't have to be the one to say it, but you realised how he truly did care, even if he struggled to show it himself.
From then on you never left his side, even when your parents told you to stop associating with the children of a monster. You didn't understand what he did wrong, hearing in passing rumours that his father was working for a bad group of people, for villains. Yet unlike the rest of the kids, you still chose to play with him because in the end, he was innocent through it all. He couldn't chose the actions of his father, and he was still your best friend no matter what. He could recall each time you knocked on the door of the caravan they were forced to live in, always bringing something for the three out of your own money. Sometimes it was food, other times pieces of clothing you thought they might like, and even if you never knew what you were doing it was the thought that mattered to him.
In the end even if he lost everyone else that he could rely on for help, you never left. You would sometimes spend the night there, against the wishes of your parents, helping the boy but the two younger children to bed. he never forgot the way you treated them like your own siblings, reading them bedtime stories and being a shoulder for them to cry on.
Really it shouldn't of been a surprise when he developed a crush on you at the young age of 15. He really never deserved you, never deserved the upmost love you gave him like he was worth the world, and he made sure he would never take you for granted again.
You helped him when he took up sketchy jobs to help provide for his siblings, staying back and watching over them as you cooked for them and kept to his schedule for when they were to go to bed for their 8 hours of sleep.
Rody could remember coming back, roughed up from a long day of work to you asleep on the couch, never leaving until you were sure he was back safe. Multiple times he sat through your scolding's, letting you bandage up the scrapes he obtained throughout the day, never failing to pull him into an embrace afterwards and tell him to be more careful next time. Each and every time, Pino did what he could never convince himself to do, nuzzling against your cheek and pecking it in something akin to a kiss.
Your relationship had started one night, late after he returned from a job that took most of the day. You had been sat on the couch, a normal occurrence yet he couldn't help but feel sorry that you were stuck raising his little siblings when he failed to be there. You had awoken when he tried to move you to somewhere more comfortable, asking him on a date in your sleep deprived state. He had accepted without a glimmer of hesitation, not expecting you to remember the next day, but you managed to and got your date in the end.
But even the best things must come to an end eventually.
Strands of his auburn hair fell from it's signature ponytail, falling over his eyes as he held you against him. He ignored the cheers through the screens of the dimly lit basement of the humanise facility, having defused the bombs at the cost of something much more valuable.
He ignored the feeling of a growing dampness on his hoodie, hand firmly pressing against your lower abdomen as the blood smudged his otherwise clean attire. Your eyes began to fall out of focus, tears brimming your eyes at the burning pain in your stomach from the laser that tore through your body. He wanted to be mad, to yell at you for taking such a critical hit for him when he was the reckless one, but he struggled to let any words escape him as his throat tightened. Your grip began to waver on his arm, your hold loosening as your body grew weaker from the blood that pooled onto the smooth floor from your body. You chose to ignore your own injuries in favour of his, trying to wipe the blood from his face but in turn smudging move of your own against his soft skin. Your body jolted as you coughed up more of the crimson liquid, a metallic taste burning the back of your throat.
Rody could feel the shake in his hand as he came to the realisation he couldn't do anything, only being able to hold you close as you struggled to breathe, pulse weakening as seconds turned into minutes. He ignored the green haired boy who sat in the same room, watching terrified at the blood that poured from your body without any sign of stopping, knowing he couldn't save everyone even if he tried. your vision began to blur further, eyes dropping closed for longer before struggling to open them again. You felt tears that weren't your own collide with your cheeks, the warm liquid mixing with the blood on your face and running down your cheeks. Yet this time it wasn't Pino, the tears falling from Rody instead as he struggled to hold himself together. A weak smile formed on your face, lifting one of your hands to face before placing two fingers to your lips, moving your shaky hand to his cheek in some form of a kiss. His hand moved from your open wound to take your hand into his own, holding it against his cheek as sobs wracked through his bloodied frame.
He couldn't lose you, being the person who meant the world to him, and someone who his siblings still needed. He could imagine their faces, the hurt and tears that could come from learning of your passing. Yet the longer he held you the more he realised that despite you calling him your hero, he couldn't save you.
He forced his otherwise numb body to move, hand wrapping around the bandana he wore to pull it away, carefully wrapping it around your head similar to how he wore it. It was an item that brought comfort to him, and he could only hope it would do the same for you.
Pino flew down one final time, landing on your chest before nuzzling against your bloodied face, pink feathers staining crimson as her beak pressed against your cheek in a final gentle kiss.
A/n: I don't know why I did this to myself, Next one will be happier cause I can't handle it :( Actually love them so much.

Dating Rody Soul Headcanons
Fandom: BNHA // MHA — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: fluff, headcanons
Warnings: None
Requested: Yes
>>>>——————————>
Tumblr media
• Trust has to be earned with Rody and if you’re dating then you’ve defiantly gained his and hopefully vice versa. Even if him telling you about his quirk was an embarrassing one for him.
“So… you can’t lie because Pino will…”
“Pretty much yeah.”
“That’s a cool quirk Rody. Pino is amazing and like a companion. You’re lucky to have her.”
“You really think so?”
• Even though you’re together, he is still unfairly charming toward you! Flirting comes easy to him when it’s with you (sentimental feelings are more difficult to express) and you’ll receive winks or cute smirks from across the room etc.
• Rody will always play it cool but if you flirt back Pino will betray his nonchalance by the flustered blushing mess she becomes much to his embarrassment. Then comes the denial and stuttering.
“Aha well you— I— ahem, whatever, you’re cool I guess.”
“Rody, you’re not the only smooth talker you know but don’t worry you’re definitely prettier~”
“That’s not true (Y/n)! Have you seen how beautiful you are? No? Then I’ll show ya!”
• You’ve realised how agile and street smart he is on various outings, and sometimes you arrive early to date meeting points just to catch a glimpse of him gliding from building to building using an array of impressive parkour.
(He has no idea, nor do you intend to tell him).
• If you ask he will teach you a couple of things of course and he’ll be a brilliant teacher, guiding you through things and challenging your level to improve. If you trip he is 100% there to catch you equipped with a flirting / teasing remark and smile.
• Rody will also show an interest in your talents / hobbies and if you’ll allow, participate or learn them with you. If you’re helping him study to be a pilot then he’ll return the love to whatever it is you’re passionate about.
• His siblings are very important and based on Pino, his heart practically melts whenever you include them in your life.
Wanna go to the sea? Let’s bring Roro and Lala for a picnic.
Dinner? Sure we could all cook something together.
The boy is putty in your hands oh my. He would give you the world if he could, but for now you’ll have settle for the little moments he can give you.
• When visiting Rody at work your favourite drink is immediately prepared and waiting for you courtesy of a proud boyfriend - even if Stanleyk teases him for it.
• If you're around long enough, he becomes as protective over you as he is his siblings, in a more loving partner way of course. Just like them, he’ll do whatever he can support you.
• If he's ever stressed or upset Rody tries to hide Pino for you as she always makes a beeline the second you are in sight. He just wants to be strong for you - even if he secretly wants a hug.
• If you offhandedly mentioned liking something, you bet he's going to save up to get it for you. He loves you so much just because of who you are and this is how he can think to show it.
• Sometimes you'll end up buying it yourself first and he'll be really happy for you, only to overhear him moping to his siblings how he missed out on a chance to make you happy.
"I was so close!"
"Uh... can't you just buy (Y/n) something else?" Roro the voice of logic in moments like these.
"It's not the same Roro!"
• You often cook together, sharing different recipes and tricks. There's a small competition going with Roro and Lala, but they favour your joint efforts rather than solo attempts.
In fact they just enjoy your company and seeing how happy you make their big brother. Since he’s always looking out for them, theyre glad he found someone who will look out for him too.
• If you're ever in trouble Pino is shouting in front of you squawking at your offenders, not a second later Rody is there to defend / back you up.
• One of your more interesting dates involved a rusty pick-up that he’d ‘acquired’ and he drove you to a local rural area for stargazing. It was a beautiful night and you’d spoke for hours about anything and everything.
“The stars are so beautiful tonight, thanks Rody.”
“They’re not the only thing that’s beautiful…”
“Oh?”
“Uh-uh this truck, look at it! Peak of engineering.” Yeah Rody, let’s just ignore the admiring doe eyes Pino is currently making at you.
• Worry not though, despite finding hard to express his feelings sometimes he will compliment you genuinely and confidently when he can. Usually they just slip out as easily as breathing when he hasn’t overthought it.
• Overall dating Rody is like having a second family full of warmth and welcoming. Even if things can be a struggle sometimes, you know that as long as Rody have each other, you’ll find a way to overcome anything.
