Colombia joins Mexico as another Latin American country that is refusing to accept military deportation flights from the US. “The US cannot treat Colombian migrants as criminals,” Colombian president Gustavo Petro posted on Twitter.

Deportations require international cooperation. "The US can't unilaterally deport people," wrote political science professor Michael Paarlberg on Bluesky. The US must respect the sovereignty of other countries; if those countries refuse to accept deportations but the US proceeds with them anyway, conflict could ensue. And what happens to immigrants the Trump administration arrests if no other country will accept them?

Slavery is still legal in the US if one is incarcerated. I can see a very real path forward that would see immigrants legally forced into what are essentially work camps. Sound familiar?

Meanwhile, Brazilian citizens deported from the US arrived in their home country in handcuffs. Individuals on board reported that they were treated inhumanely: "They didn’t give us water, we were tied hands and feet, they wouldn’t even let us go to the bathroom."

Regardless of how you feel about immigrants, no one should be treated this way.

Keep calling it the Gulf of Mexico or whatever your term is for it. Do not allow the Republican regime to label that body of water the Gulf of America to the world. The name came from a the term Mexica, what the Aztecs called themselves. It’s been called the Gulf of Mexico since the 1600s.

Keep calling it Mount Denali. The original name before it was Mount McKinley. Don’t let the First Nations be erased.

It may sound stupid and petty. But it is an attempt to rewrite history and make us forget the origins. It is a literal white washing of history. This type of censorship is a beginning to greater evils.

A small vent I'm sorry. I'm really scared for my family. My mom has us practicing what to say to any ICE agents just in case they come to our schools. I know regardless of what I say I'm gonna get in trouble and they are gonna try and do something even though I was born in the US. I really just want to relax and draw stupid stuff, I want to finish school, I want to graduate college someday. I want to do all of this without fear that one day I will be placed in those disgusting camps. I have already seen them in person and they are as bad as we say. If one day I am killed, for being a trans man or if one day I disappear because I was wrongfully deported I really want y'all to remember my blog and everything I have posted on here.

President-elect Donald Trump vowed Tuesday to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” a name he said has a “beautiful ring to it.”

President-elect Trump, who also pointed out during the press conference that "The windmills are driving the whales crazy", touched upon some more serious matters, as well, implying that the United States may take back control of the Panama Canal by force, potentially use force and/or economic coercion to force Denmark to sell Greenland to the United States (he will "tariff Denmark at a very high level" if they don't give us Greenland), and continued to suggest that Canada should become an American state. Oh, he also talked about changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America" because he's an asshole.

In case you forgot, over 77 million Americans -- including, undoubtedly, people you love and who say they love and care about you -- voted for this person to lead our country for the next four years, despite...well...despite fucking everything we have experienced since 2015.

I seriously don't know if I can do this again for another four years.
